So... officially, hello to everyone! I'm super excited about getting this thing off the ground!

Just to cover the basics:

The story will pick up with the two Queens meeting to discuss the nuptial agreements... then off we go!
Just want everyone to know, don't be afraid to be completely original and bold with your characters! Following in suit works best for most situations, but I'm a strong advocate for "multiple plot stirs the pot!" (Yes, I did just make that up, but it's better than the long speech about how every person makes it work. =P)

I love utilizing OOC threads for group communication. Even if it's just random conversation, and not completely rp based. I also feel as if we become friends, we'll enjoy rping with each other much MUCH more.

I just want to have fun, and get lost in a far off distant world!

Well considering, that it just started, and also the problems with the site, I'd guess that it's because of that. We'll try to keep a posting order, as orderly as possible. I mean, if others' aren't involved, no reason to worry about waiting for them (as far as posting in particular places go) But, like right now, we're waiting on the Prince, his personal guard, and also Aeron before continuing posting. It's important to figure out where everyone is established at in the beginning, I feel.

@ Timps:
Felians are within the main hall at the Castle Felia gathering for breakfast. However, Essarae has yet to arrive, as well as your character. I had an idea that they could have been out in the court yard practicing sword when the bell rang. That would emphasize and establish a friendship between the two, from the beginning. How do you feel about that? Also, are you familiar with the tagging system at all?

@Everyone:
Please keep ALL OOC conversation based here. Sounds silly, I know, but it will keep everything as professional and everyone as informed as possible. Don't abuse this as a way to GOD MODE, and know everything for your character a head of time, but it is fair that we all keep communication about the rp open and viewable for everyone, so as to avoid miscommunications regarding sarcasm, or sensitivity to IC rp. I'm a very easy going player, but I take my rps seriously ,and don't want any drama. With that said, I love all of you and am thankful you took interest! With genuine effort, I feel like this can and will be something wonderful!

i'm waiting on the Xanan mage to reply before I do my own. or even the convo between the two to be finished. that way it won't seem like i'm cutting them off. I will get their names down before long though. so sorry if i call the characters by their titles/roles for a little bit in OOC. i just have a hard time memorizing names. i think everything is going at a good pace so far. but i just have one thing to address because many people have different views on it.

That is writing an action(s) or phrase(s) for another character in your post. some people are pretty strict on not wanting anyone else to write for their character. as for me, i'm fine with it because for the 12 years i've been role playing (since first year of middle school now that i think about it) i didn't mind writing actions and talking for other characters or other people doing the same for mine. as long as it wasn't anything MAJOR like a long term effect on said character, without the author for them consenting.

for example if Rebecca gets hit by an arrow, then i'd like to know about it as a heads up so i can agree on it. (mind you i'm very good at adapting and in previous RPs i just tell people to do whatever and i'll adapt, short of killing my character of course). but if they just answer a question or go look around, something that isn't going to impact them for any period of time, then it's cool.

anyway i just want to know where everyone stands on this so i can make a list.

Meh, it's kind of back and forth with that. Me personally? Small stuff doesn't matter, but I've made it a habit NOT to action for other people, unless permission has been granted previously. Even if the response comes late, it holds respect for the writer themselves. It's amazing how many small problem will create along the way where collaborative writing is concerned.

On that note... there was a discrepancy involving claw today. Not sure if he is going to continue with the rp, or not. For now, I would say it's safe to move on with the scene, and if he chooses to remain involved, he can jump back in. I'm not going to pause the rp and have people waiting on posts just because one person isn't sure, while the rest of us are committed to getting it off the ground. That's not fair.

Just a thought...
Time wise, I don't think it's been very long since the King's have passed. Essarae would have to marry someone before she could become Queen. And I had a thought that the Xanan people are still mourning the passing of their King before letting the Prince take reign. Thoughts? This could play a lot of ways for characters involved.

Also... taking some time for some inter-character-action before sending the note back with a meeting time and place. So that everyone can get a feel for their group.

As well... seems like a lot of have dealings with animals as far as our magics are concerned. Since we cannot directly harm each other with the magic, that doesn't mean to say that we can't by using magic on items or animals. Thoughts?

didn't think of animals being used as a weapon, although, it definitely sounds plausible. and claw not writing a part while his character is right in front of mine kinda leaves me between a rock and a hard place. especially since he left off with a question directly to my character. i have no clue to how his character acts yet and don't want to step on toes if Claw doesn't want anyone writing for his character.

It would be awkward, but doesn't have to be considering that we all know what's going on. Just ignore the character and the Prince's remark about him wanting to speak to you. Just address the Prince directly, and continue on with the scene? I'm going to assume he has withdrawn himself. When I asked him, he responded vaguely, but didn't say 'no'. Like I said, it's not fair to sit around and waste time waiting on someone to make up their mind. It's a silly discrepancy anyways. I can edit it all out tomorrow if necessary. I'm not too much of a perfectionist as you can tell :P I just want rp!

So as long as Nevan can help you write past it, I would say just continue on as if it didn't happen.

so to clarify, you just want me to write as if the prince didn't come to the room? and if Claw isn't staying then what are we gonna do about a prince? you don't have to answer the second question right away but the first i need. and also i guess the mage can come in instead since it seemed he had the same thing in mind anyway.

No, no, no. Claw isn't the Prince.... Claw is the Mage. Nevan is the Prince... Don't ignore Nevan's post, ignore claw's post and the presence of the mage in general.

Also, if anyone has any ideas for new places within each nation, feel free to ask/request. I've only got the basics down now. I've no problem adding something that would benefit and/or organize rp.

Thought I'd quickly write this here to avoid any confusion about Karst's past he alluded to. I know it could be classed as spoilers, but I'll be updating his profile with this anyway. :P

"As a child, Karst and the King were set upon by an unknown assassin that managed to infiltrate Castle Xana. The assassin struck Karst with a blade poisoned by the blood of a particularly nefarious species of Dragon; a poison that should have killed the young Karst in seconds. Death, however, never found him.

Instead he has continued to survive through to the present day, the poison still in his veins and threatening to kill him at any time. In addition, he somewhat often enters states of severe illness brought on by the injury with symptoms including fever, intense pain, delusion, hallucination and potential psychosis.

The assassin itself was never caught, nor the intended target revealed: was it the King, with the young Prince unlucky enough to be in the way of the blow? Or was the prince himself, an attempt to slay Xana's only heir?
