The Delacroix are the oldest, and largest Vampiric family in the southern half of the United States,
however their origin lies in the Deep South of Louisiana, and has spread across the states. As such, a large majority of
Vampires in the South can trace their roots back to the Delacroix family, whose ancestry traces even further back
to France, moving to the States after the acquisition of Louisiana from Napoleon. One might say that the Delacroix
were responsible for the flourishing town of Elk River during it’s early days, making the settlement seem as enticing
as possible to other Occult species who desired a place to be themselves.

Modern times have helped the Delacroix family establish themselves as a wealthy clan, mainly through the distribution
and manufacturing of drugs that serviced the Occult kind. Much like human, Occult have specific recreational drugs that
they can take, whereas human drugs typically have little effect on most Occult. They also have their roots in other
businesses, and as such, the closer one is the family, the more likely they are affected by their immense wealth

The Geroux|Faelan families are two packs of Lycans whose families are connected to one another not only by name, but by bloodline. One side of the family has it’s origins in France much like the Delacroix family, while the other has its roots in Ireland, and then emigrated to the States for the last few hundred years. Unfortunately, the two packs have been in conflict with each other over the domain of their territory,those with the Geroux name wish to adhere to the old traditions of Lycans, by allowing themselves to embrace their feral sides. Lycans have the choice of accepting their true form, or only being able to transform into wolves, the actual ritual for assuming their true form for the very first time is quite a painful ordeal, with currently has a low threshold for survivability, meaning that only those who wish to stick to tradition undergo the transformation. The Faelan half of family take more of a nuanced stance and instead prefer the wolf to the Lycan form.

This has caused a fairly even split between the packs, and some decades ago a violent conflict led to the two packs not even batting an eye at one another, the main cause of the schism was the murders of the leaders of both packs, there was a point in history where they wished to be as one like they once were, but seeing as how their morals and traditions conflicted greatly, this peace could not be found, and the packs were thrown into further disarray when the leaders were killed one another in anger, which would lead to further violence and death between the packs, though to this day it is not exactly known just what caused them to resort to such measures. Nowadays, it’s hard to say whether you could even put a Faelan Wolf and a Geroux Wolf in the same room without so much as a punch being thrown, or claws being brought out. Although, it seems that the younger generation is far and above this conflict, not living in the previous era of packs has given them a curiosity about their distant relatives. The Geroux pack live exclusively in the BackWoods of Elk River, while the Faelan pack inhabit both the Suburbs and Downtown, whether or not one wants to stick to tradition, those outside of the situation are well aware that things can’t continue the way they’ve been.

The Callidora family is the smallest out of all the long established families in Elk River.
Their history is actually composed of Incubi and Succubi who served the first brothel in Elk River, the man
who composed this brothel, would later father the Callidora line. The Callidora’s are known for being some
of the most attractive denizens of Elk River, along with being the wealthiest due to the riches acquired from
their families many endeavors, the Callidora clan is located mainly in downtown. The surname is known by
most people who have lived in Elk River long enough, and some of the family members fit that bad boy, or
spoiled kid stereotype.

Most of the Callidora family are pureblooded Incubi or Succubi, and the clan tends to be less welcoming of
those who have human blood in their veins. Seeing as how many of the Callidora’s are in political positions
in both the city and in farther places, one should be well aware that the clan has the police departments,
and the lawyers of the city entrenched deeply into their pockets, often times they buy their way out of legal
proceedings, and it would not be too far off to consider that some of the family members suffer under the effects
of ‘affluenza.

While not exactly a family by blood, the Magdelena clan exists to train young Alphas in their abilities,
they also work to uncover the history of witches and sorcerers. For the most part they are neutral
in the affairs of Elk River, and somewhat removed from the other Occult species. One might say
they can be racist against other Occults. Since Alphas and Espers are rare in comparison to the
overabundance of humans, the elders of Magdelena believe that they should segregate themselves
from the other Occult to preserve their genes. Many of these elders are rather deluded in thinking that
the blood of beasts will only sully their bloodline. One can only hope this ideology has not passed into the
younger generation. The Cult of Of Magdelena serves to remind Alphas and Espers that they have a place
in this society and they even offer lessons in magic should anyone need them. The Cult is in direct conflict
with the Jaegers, knowing that their purpose is to hunt down the Occult, the elders of the cult are not
opposed to revealing their abilities to others in order to defeat them, knowing that this would possibly
strengthen the morality of their intentions to other humans, the hatred for the Jaegers runs that strong in
the Cult. The Cult has existed in Elk River for as long as the Vampires, and so they tend to be
on as amicable terms as they’ll ever be.

The Jaegers are the oldest known organization of Venatores in the States, German in origin before
spreading across the continents; the Jaegers have a strong foothold on the Occult in the States,
actively eliminating what they consider to be threats. Most Jaegers have a policy of not bothering
Occult who do not bother others, although, there are purists who would gladly kill all Occult under
the banner of the Venatores, believing that their very existence threatens humanity. In Elk River, the
Jaegers have been somewhat inactive, seeing as how the Occult have smartly infiltrated the city
without revealing themselves, this has made their jobs considerably difficult since nowadays the
difference between humans and Occult are not immediately visible. Ironically, some Jaegers are
not completely human themselves, some are Alphas and Espers, who have indeed befriended
other Occult on the basis on their abilities, and strike accordingly should they ever step out of line.

From a young age, young Venatores train and adapt themselves to several useful weapons in order to
take down their foes, for Alphas and Espers they train and attune their powers to take down Occult. In
recent years, it seems that the organizations has taken a particular preference for Alpha and Esper
Venatores due to their powers making ease of their tasks, as a result this has caused resentment
between them and human Venatores, believing that they might as well be fraternizing with the enemy.
As mentioned before the Jaegers are in direct conflict with the Cult of Magdelena, despite not having
the best opinion on other Occult, Magdelena members fight actively against the threat of Jaegers, even
if it means technically protecting some of the Occult they wish to have no affiliation with.

The Fraternity is a foreboding force that has entered Elk River, not much
is known about this small, elusive group, but they seem to have ties that go
even deeper than families like the Callidora can even reach. As the plot moves
forward this description shall expand as we are made aware of just what the
Fraternity is, and just what they may be bringing into this city.
