Spirits imbued with control over the elements by the Gods. They serve as manifestations of the four prime elements. They were originally channelers of the elemental forces, but a cataclysm early on in their existence severed their link to the gods. Now they wander their realms listlessly but never straying too far. These towering elemental forms are lumbering and gigantic, perhaps among the largest things to wander the world of Skaerra.
D'jinn are spirits that appear to be made of smokeless scorching fire. They are ethereal creatures that are very much capable of interacting with physically tangible things. Some come bearing wishes to grant, granting only those that are within their powers though.
Highly intelligent and noble creatures of gargantuan size and ability, they are capable of flight with their massive wings. They possess knowledge as old as the world of Skaerra itself. They tend to remain secretive, keeping the hidden knowledge with themselves to fulfill their role of guardians of this world. These creatures are one of the oldest living races of the world of Skaerra. They are never seen in groups, which led many to believe that few dragons exist in the world. Though the last time anyone has seen them was a long time ago, some believe perhaps they may have gone extinct.
The Ents were once just trees, until Aulliuth gave them sentience. He chose them to be the protectors of the Elves so that young race could mature in their care. Some thinkers among the Elves believe this is why the Elves are tree lovers. The Ents are among the oldest living creatures alongside Dragons.
Epori have features that resemble hares, with long ears, supple limbs, and lithe frames. They generally wear stilettos possibly due to the shape of their feet. Their nimble form allows them to be excellent archers, fencers, and assassins, although that does not restrict them from being something else. They reside in forested areas and woodlands, many can be found living alongside the Sindrelei and the Tlamani.
Tiny beings with wings, and capable of natural or druidic magic. They are believed to be mythical. However, the races that dwell in Daellean know otherwise. Rarely do they venture far from their homes, unless they have been
woven. When a fairy is woven, their fate becomes intertwined with that of another soul destined to change the course of history. Few have ever been woven.
They appear part human and part goat. Their lower body resembles that of satyrs, but their upper torso is like that of humans. Their ears are pointed like that of elves. They also have goat horns like satyrs. They tend to roam the forests playing music and living a carefree life. Though, when riled, they will rise to defend their homes.
A race thought to be long extinct; they are the ancestors (or rather, grandparents) of the Ogres. The giants once roamed Skaerra as demi-gods, the children of Oelne, until the Watchers declared war on their brothers in the high heavens. The Giants suffered much in the war.
A creature often of inanimate material, their creator is unknown, often believed to be errors in rituals and magical feedback thereby giving them a false breath of life.
Their name speaks for itself. They merely serve as warning signs for Deathās arrival. The only beings that can see Harbingers aside from Death are Reapers. Many will appear in a trance state at a location where many will die. They serve as beacons for Death to come claim.
Their name means āminionā in the tongues of old. The Lorits come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They are capable of fulfilling any role asked of them. Their main physical features are their rough leathery skin, thick horns protruding from their foreheads, and glowing amber eyes. They are quite skilled in the art of war and created for war and nothing else. No one has ever seen them, they belong to myth, only the Aea know of their existence.
Naiads and Dryads, female spirits that are the personification of the outflowing of nature. They dwell mainly in Daellean. Many mortal races consider them to be beautiful beyond belief. Some have become so entranced by their beauty as to be rooted in the ground by vines and eventually turned to stone.
Large humanoid beings, they are the grandchildren of giants. Smaller than their ancestors, the ancient giants. The ogres are a rather peaceful people, believed to somewhere in lands far away from human and elf lands among the rocky and craggy mountain lands to the north of Dessor. Contrary to popular belief, they are rather intelligent. They stand nearly nine feet tall.
Great birds of flames. People associated the phoenixes with the sun and with rebirth, as a new phoenix arises from the ashes of the old one once it has burnt out.
Satyrs resemble goats that stand upright. They are covered in fur that ranged from red to brown to white to black. Their goat legs allow them to jump and leap great distances. They, like the Epori, also reside in the woodlands with the Elves.
The creature has the head of a human, the haunches of a lion, and sometimes the wings of a bird. It is found in the great wastes of the Syakh deserts, and most often can be seen guarding entrances or ancient ruins.
Creatures that resemble very large terrifying wolves. They have great strength and teeth that can easily tear flesh apart. Werewolves and lycans are the descendants of the Great Wolf, Takmunsha. They wander in the northern wastes of Dessor in packs, largely keeping to themselves.
The old lore of the Elves once said that when a being perished, they had two choices regarding the afterlife. The first would be to join the gods, live among them, and prepare for the final battle. The second would be to remain forever entrapped in a bubble of mystical energies that would allow them to traverse between time and space, wandering the world. The wisps are the souls of those who chose the latter.
