Training Exercise

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby mjolnir on Mon Jul 19, 2021 12:40 pm

Below is all the information for the upcoming training exercise at camp. If there are more in the future, we'll continue to use this thread.

This thread will be a resource for the all information regarding the training/s so that it doesn't all get lost in the regular OOC or discord. So please keep it empty aside from what I myself post or the other GMs.

Thanks :D

Hello all!

I've spent a lot of today working on the pairings for this training exercise that will be starting soon! (like in the next post or two of Nick's) Both mombie and myself will be posting some information here in regards to that.

T R A I N I N G

This training isn't going to be like past training which usually focused around capture the flag or something of that nature. This will just be spars (or fights until a character surrenders). The goal isn't to kill or injure (although mild injuries are likely) but just to test their abilities against random opponents.

Nick (son of poseidon) will be running the training exercise. He'll be picking people at random (according to the list below) to spar one another in the arena. There is no set order for each group like the trials. So, feel free to start working on your collab once the ball is rolling and whenever it's done just go ahead and post it. I don't want people to get held up waiting for others to post before them.

Mombie and I will go first, with Nick and Andy, just to get things going and give everyone an idea of what to expect or how to approach it.

P A I R I N G S

Below is the list of pairings. I tried my best to make sure that writers don't write with the same writer more than once, along with making sure partners are characters that haven't met or only interacted a smidge.

For each pairing I did a coin flip for the winner. You don't have to use the coin flip for the winner. It's purely to help anyone who might be stuck trying to figure out who will win or can't come to a compromise. The character that won the coin flip is bold.

Edit : I've included a color token next to each pair. Just to make it easy and "random" in the RP, characters will pick a token at random which will pair them up. So, their token color will just be whatever is next to their pairing.

Nick - Andy --- blue token
Liam - Lochlan --- red token
Evelyn - Mason --- yellow token
Ethan - Veronica --- green token
Liv - Iliana --- orange token
Duke - Sloane --- purple token
Theo - Nelly --- pink token
Heath - Daniel --- white token
Trinity - Rae --- black token
Sylas - Cherise --- gold token
Vincent - Blair --- silver token
Wes - Veera --- bronze token

Fabricator is currently trying to work on a daughter of Hera. The deadline for that character is Friday. If there character is finished in time, then we'll either have to make a group a trio or see if anyone is up for having a character go twice. If you're interested in this either way with your pairs or character, just let me know :)

N O T E S

If there any issues with the pairings or if have have complications with another writer when trying to work out the post or anything, please feel free to reach out to me so I can resolve the issue.

As always, feel free to ask any questions in the regular OOC or discord :D

Located in the far west of camp, just past the thick woods, is the grand Colosseum that has been training Demigods since Camp Athens' inception. Its magical properties not only prevent the most powerful influences and powers from causing harm to observers but also conform to the innate abilities of each Demigod. For instance, if Liv and Duke are up against one another, the Arena will manifest the necessary elements that allow for both Demigods to utilize their abilities. The arena's makeup is limited only to the imagination of the opponents therein. The landscape will be automatically altered to compliment the fighting pair, and it will provide all that is necessary to ensure all have equal access to whatever their power and abilities require.

Notes:
--Each roleplayer should discuss their Arena makeup and figure out what works out for everyone. You can be creative!
--Observers shall not be influenced and/or harmed by anything that happens within.
--Observers cannot enter the arena during a fight in progress.
--No godly parents. They have other shit to do. Godly parents are not to be used in any way.
--The arena self-repairs after each fight and goes back to its original state until the next one.

Another little side note or two... There is no forfeiting. Characters have to try, unless they want to piss the Gods off. They might lose quickly, or whatever. That can happen. But just giving up isn't an option. It is a mandatory training per Poseidon's orders.

Also, the battle grounds area of the arena has a sort of invisible forcefield around it which confines the effects of powers to just the people sparring. But also demigods can't leave the battle grounds until the fight has finished.

Finishing the spar : this is achieved by a character basically be in a position they can't get out of where they would die... i.e. dagger to the throat, pinned to the ground, etc. Basically how most fights are won. Per old gladiator battles, when someone has lost they can hold up two fingers to signify their surrender and the fight will be over.
