-The Volkari-

Average height 5'4 - 6'4
Average Lifespan 230 - 300yrs

The Volkari were born in a section of they're world more commonly known now as the Gian Line. A long and now treacherous stretch of land that is constantly ravaged by random swaths of magical energies. In the years before the great exile from this land the Volkari developed a strange appearance due to the energies being absorbed into themselves, which at the time the energies were very faint at best.
A typical Volkari will have small ridges growing on they're body that lay flat and does not commonly have rough edges unless the material of the ridge is specifically like that. These are formed from an excess of minerals in the body that appear during growth and are actually naturally occurring elements in the surrounding area. Many have what appears to be small veins of anything ranging from silver, brass, copper and even diamond coursing through the skin on they're bodies. Aside from some off skin colors they look almost the same as humans and with very little distinction in between. The ridges themselves may traverse certain areas where they will affect a persons appearance as well.

Many of the Volkari traditions are based on this same process, especially the idea of bloodline and decree. After birth families will lay the child in a made bed lined with the material they hope will take to the child's body. However the amount of wealth needed for such an investment can be steep and this has somewhat become a way of determining a persons class in Volkari society. There are even those that with little wealth in they're families that can not afford for such a tradition to take place who have not excess minerals to use. So they will form small ridges of white bone instead of the usual metal sheen.

-Special-
The Focus is a somewhat still misunderstood piece of Volkari anatomy. This piece of the body is actually an intersecting portion of the heart and is capable of special, almost metaphysical functions. While most of the Volkari race are able to utilize the organ to extend they're ability to fight at longer lengths without burning out stamina. Others are able to use it to increase speed or stamina and even in some cases cognitive response.
But there are others with the ability to wield it in even more amazing ways. Many of the royal guard for instance are chosen for the abilities they possess with each ones focus. Some are able to breath a wide range of weaponized attacks while others can project energy blast and even manipulate matter at a base level. All through the ability to manipulate they're own separate focus. The King himself is said to possess a rather potent ability with his focus, however no one outside the royal halls knows or even has an inclination to what it may be.

-The Val-

Average Height 5'9 - 7'1
Average Lifespan 90 - 120yrs

The Val themselves have a long and horrible history spanning far back in the time, well before the cataclysm that created the breach. Each member of the race may look human somewhat but that is a formality and a misconception. In the past they're people were widely nomadic by nature and tradition this lead to many proxy conflicts that would spark from time to time all over Cabal. Everywhere from the rolling hills to the low swamplands and beyond and it only got worse as time went on. Not to mention the vicious creatures that share the world with them it was only a matter of time before the Val looked to the gods for help. Being shamanistic as well as nomadic each clan and tribe began to look to the vastness of eternity to find help.
What they did not know was that one god was all that answered, a pale and terrible god with a streak of lies and deceit. They did not know this, believing the god to be Valnoosh and took his offer without impunity. This "gift" would imbue they're bodies with the strength and abilities of the animal kingdom for them to use and gain supremacy over the other clans. However the trickster god instead gave them all the same chaotic gift, a malicious pox that turned they're bodies into misshapen animistic forms. Which thankfully have lessened over the many years after the first gifts from the dark god.

They still maintain many of the original aspects of they're health that they did in the past. Stronger bones, more resilient anatomy and a very powerful hunting sense. Many Val are capable trackers and warriors but very few shine above these traits. In the local community and government it is now seen that many Val are united not by the way they were raised but by the traits they received from the gift in them. Collections of figureheads that have resembling qualities are a common sight such as horns, tails, and scales. These traits solidify into small circular groups of clans that are centered on keeping that trait pure and common within the gene pool. However those with too many gifts are looked down upon as a throwback to the times of old and are not able to hold good legal grounds at any rate what so ever.

-The Ash fiend-

Average Height 6'8 – 7.5
Average Lifespan 220 – 250yrs

The so called Ash fiend is native to a remote part of Cabal and the first race to form a civilization that quickly seized the lands of surrounding species mercilessly exploiting them as a source of cheap labor and amusement. History is vague about the actual power of the old empire but it was said to span from horizon to horizon combine, with the militaristic nature of the male Ash fiend this empire could host a vast host of loyal and skilled soldiers that it regularly used to wipe out any resistance. The arrogance that soaked the culture of the species caused the slow collapse of their empire as they experienced succession wars and growing resistance from their now civilized neighbors. The majority of the Ash fiends died when their empire fell stubbornly fighting to the death against any that dared to raise their voice only the distant colonies positioned in an inhospitable land where super heated ash rains from the skies managed to form a new kingdom and defend their lands. The fact they survived was not their advanced magic or some hidden technology but the fact that an Ash fiend can survive incredible heat that would burn other species alive. The breach changed the status queue as new inventions made it possible to mount a real offensive against the Ash fiends and finally avenge the crimes of the past. Now the race is it’s self a servant race controlled by various petty kings that use them as cannon fodder for their armies or as powerful mages to enforce the law.

The Ash fiends are a strange humanoid species, at first glance they look quite human but they have a dark grey skin color and red eyes with large black pupils. They are more durable than they look with a thick skin and strong bones combine this with their impressive endurance and incredible discipline and you have a strong warrior. The idea that the Ash fiend is the perfect soldier is actually not completely true with weaker than average muscles and their strong sense of honor that makes them just as dangerous to their commanders as they are to their enemies. The most impressive thing coincidentally also their best known trait is their magical gift, able to control any form of energy ranging from foreign magic to their own advanced spells. It’s clear the most dangerous thing you can meet among the Ash fiends is a bloodthirsty mage because their long lives and magical prowess makes for a truly horrifying opponent.

Ariji

Average height- 5’6-6’2
Average age- 85-110 years

The Ariji are a tall and very lean humanoid race. For all purposes they appear human and their anatomy is the same. What sets them apart is the faint blue to silver sheen of their skin and blonde to white hair. They also do not breathe. The Ariji do not sleep preferring a meditative state instead. Their skeletons are also light allowing them a speed and agility greater than an average human’s.

They live in the mountains of Vola'Kun, high in the thin mountain air. Their bodies have adapted over generations to the altitude. Their homes are in the natural caves though they favour a more solitary existence than family oriented arrangements.

Proficient with basic weapons they favour bows and arrows. Primarily a peaceful race due to their distance from any others.

The Ariji have a basic elemental magic that centres around using the wind. They are taught at a young age to call up a small gust to aid an arrow’s flight or speed the coming of clouds to bring in the rain. Combined with their agility they can use the wind to aid their movement up and down the mountain leading to legends of flight. They do not fly but glide.

-Constructs-

-Attributes- Based on maker.
-Age- N/A

Though not entirely a race in their own right, constructs are one of the oldest and most widely accepted form of magic in all of the three worlds. They can range from any height or shape and are tailor built to support one or several functions.

Though in the past, Constructs "also referred to as golem's" were originally made for industry and war. Their tough bodies, massive size and limitless stamina made menial labor nearly non existent for the higher class citizens of each world. With their help, kingdoms rose in a matter of years instead of generations and they were always capable of serving their creators, no matter the order.

However there in lay the first problem for them.
The one giving the orders was still at fault from time to time and without that person, the constructs would come to a stop without any orders to carry out. Such was the case of war golem's sent to fight in the crusade and their commander was assassinated out near the field. They would become entirely useless, possessing no means or will for self preservation without a commander bound to them.

Now in this age, Golem's are made in all manner of shapes and sizes. Out of any material the creator wants to use and to whatever degree they wish. Some word is spoken even of Constructs that possess a form of will all their own, however this is speculation. Questioning the fact that these are really true beings or the souls of long passed beings bound into a shell for eternal servitude.
