Grassy plains covered the rolling hills of a land long forgotten…so it seemed. The hills were not only covered with plains but also covered in lush amounts of animals of all sorts. Big, small, short, and tall. All sorts hurried to these plains. It seemed like a sort of Heaven they dwelled in to get away from starvation and being homeless in the deadly deserts outside. Although life had it’s routine for them they were happy where they were and chose to live here where there was more danger from predators then slow deaths by the heat, starvation, and other things that caused them much pain before death. Within the large meadows are also huge forests. The forests are very beautiful and are inhabited but numerous amounts of creatures. These forests had the tallest of trees and the smallest of bushes. The way the sun’s ray’s shown through the parts in the canopy made it look like a mystical land only read about in fairy tales.
Also living amongst these plains and magical forests were humans and animal like humans. Though the forests and plains are overwhelming the human creatures live in towns and villages. Some of these villages are built within the plains and forests. In the forests the villages are actually more like tree houses connected by wooden bridges. The trees are so vast and sturdy that the support needed to keep the houses up were more then enough and very trust worthy. These villages were mainly inhabited by the animal like humans or lycans if you will. Though when these creatures bite a human being only certain types of these lycans will actually spread there animal genetics. Even so they are still shunned by some villages and towns even after the civil war that broke out four years ago and was just settled this past year. The humans are still cautious around the creatures but they are slowly learning to accept them into society. Of course there are still a select few who despise the creatures with all of their heart and will not rest until they reek havoc against them all and run them out.
As you know villages are very small. The most capacity of a village ranges anywhere from thirty to one hundred people in a single village. In the towns the numbers aren’t much greater but they have better qualities. These qualities consist of better food stands and mini stores, bigger living spaces, and there are a bit more jobs available. It is not too hard to keep from poverty in these times but due to gambling and other costly enjoyments, people have been known to gamble their entire life away just to win the game. Although the games do give a lot of money to the winner most of the people who play are playing for the fun and excitement of the game hoping they can win and rise in their reputations around the towns.
In the villages there are no games and not as many or as great of shops. They only sell what they need to in order to keep their inhabitants alive and well. For fun they must seek it on their own and make things up. The people who grew up in villages are most likely to randomly sing unheard songs and think up the most fun and weirdest games due to their isolation of the games that people have in the towns, they have to make up their own and try to make fun out of it. These people are not what you would call ‘pitied’ but they are looked down upon for the way they live by the people in the towns. These days now, though, the humans are starting to get along better with other humans because they would rather befriend their own species then a mixed or entirely different species. As said before, the humans are beginning to get used to the creature humans and are slowly befriending them, even though there will always be someone holding a grudge against them.
There is a town for the basic directions on a compass, North, South, East, and West, Which means there are only four towns and there are three villages. There is one village toward the north, one toward the south, and another one south west. The village names are similar to the direction they are in as well. The town names on the other hand are made up entirely by the leader of that town. The main town, in the north, is named Hasenaga. It means northern superiority. To the south is Netsutog, which means southern station, to the east is Pestiva, which means divine glory, and then the west which is Yutasu, it means Celtic city. Each of these towns were named for the pride of the leader who founded them.
Our story takes place in Pestiva, a smaller town that is not too big and not too small. Almost everyone knows everyone and most of the people are friendly. If you live there you will know for sure who are not the friendly people of the town. The houses resemble colonial houses and the streets are paved in stones. There are no cars or advanced machinery, everyone get’s around either by walking or horse back. Mostly everyone lives in the town but a few live outside of the town on a farm that raises horses and cattle for rent and sale to anyone who is going on a trip, but the farm houses are not too far away from the town. It generally takes about thirty minutes on horse back to get there from town and to town from there. In the middle of the town is a large circular spot they call The Fountain because it has a huge fountain in the middle of it. Stands line the circle with food, drinks, clothing, weapons, and other things that might occupy the inhabitants. Behind these stands are stores such as gambling houses, inns, and pubs. There are seats next to the fountain so people can rest and enjoy the day. This is the main place people go to socialize, have town meetings, and get what they need or want.
Almost all of the towns are like this but the northern and southern towns have bigger and better gambling places. That is how they make their money. Also within every town is the ‘House’, this is the house occupied by the leader of the town and where the inhabitants pay their taxes. The taxes are for living there and it depends on how much they are by where you live. In Pestiva the taxes are fair enough and allow the inhabitants to spend their money on things they want as long as they don’t have a big family. If a person is late on their taxes, the taxes will be increased by a small amount. If they are overly late then they will either have to work to make it up, be exiled from the town, or have to give up their child to pay off the debt. Usually the town will resort to just making the people work it off but if it is too bad then they will have to proceed with the second and third mentioned.

Zatani is an 18 year old human who had recently just picked her life up from the effects of the civil war. It didn't bother her much but it seemed that everyone was on edge and she tried to stear clear of them. Especially around the taverns. She walked down the street heading toward the Fountain. She needed some supplies for her home since she hadn't been out in a while. As she walked down the street she looked around seeing only few lycan creatures about and wondered if everyone was still on harsh terms. She made it to the Fountain and looked around to see which stand she should go to first.
