【 Weapon 】

DEMONIC WEAPON :

Parasitic Arm
In Zero form, his arm transforms according to his needs. It has three forms, each with its own uses.

Claw – The claw is the default appearance of his weapon(as seen in the app). He is able to move smoothly and efficiently with it, but could only cover an average amount of damage. It is more defensive than offensive. Rather than blocking, the host can revert the attack, unlike in the two other forms wherein he could only do so in special cases.

Scythe – The second form of the weapon, the scythe is much lighter but more fragile than the other two. It lets the host move and attack in a faster rate but does less damage than the other forms. With the scythe form, it is made possible to cut through air.

Hammerfist – The last form of the weapon, it is far heavier and drags the host’s speed down. It is however highly durable and could sustain attacks unlike the other forms. It strains the host from long jumps and movements but its weight itself covers a high amount of damage.

Independent | Patient | Observant | Attentive | Quiet | Calm| Distrustful | Detached

Beate appears as an indifferent young lad, often striking an intimidating stare as he observes people very carefully. He has very few words even to people he trusts and even more so to strangers. He often keeps things to himself and dislikes useless chatter. Often, he would stay quiet to subjects he is not interested in, or something that does not concern him. However removed he may seem, he listens to everything that is said and will try to draw a conclusion on his own. This does not help his unhealthy suspicion about his surroundings that may sometimes be compared to paranoia. Despite this, he still has a calm demeanor.

Independent and determined, Beate can accomplish things on his own and will do his best in tasks given to him. He is passionate and is absolutely hard-working. He doesn’t want to disappoint his comrades and therefore he is very much attentive to their needs. It is despite the fact he is often seen as not having care about anyone. He is very patient and tries to extend his understanding though it is not always effective as he is often cynical. He remains as a lad who could forgive, but never forget.

【 History 】

The white noise sounded as I stared on the blinking screen. There has not been a sound in the household for a few days now.

The boy sat down by the end of the stairs, staring down at what seemed to be a now empty living room. The laughter echoed in his head as the memories now seemed like a fuzz of black and white noise. The deafening silence was only broken by the soft tapping of footsteps as they came one after another, getting louder and louder. Behind the woman he called mother, her baggage rolled and for each step she made, the boy’s heart seemed to just sink deeper into an abyss of anger, of frustrations and questions: a broken symphony. She stopped in front of the doorway and looked back at him. Her eyes like it never was: they were swollen, and there were trails of tears, but she was still beautiful with her locks draping the sides of her face. “Do you want to come with me?” She traced with her lips but did not utter a single word. He just looked at her and for a moment wanted to run to her but he didn't. He hugged his knees and buried his face in between them. In a few seconds, the only thing he heard was the continuation of the footsteps. He looked up at the man, ‘Father’, he called him, as he slammed the door closed. Since then, he has never looked at the boy with the same care he had back then. The space he once called home became quieter and quieter, and by each day the gap between him and his father became greater.

Only a few moons passing, the quiet nights became filled with a new laughter—it did not come from the young one, but from another woman who seemed much younger than the boy’s mother. In only a few more months passing, he already got used to the new complete ‘family’ his father was introducing him. Though the boy was still as quiet as ever, the woman made an effort to reach a hand to him. He did not ask for any attention but it was given to him without hesitation. He did not dislike it, the new music that was starting as the woman was kind and loved him as if she were her own. She tried her best to be the mother that the boy has been missing
but it was never enough. Sometimes the boy would find himself at the place where he knew he’d find his mother, but in the end he would return home to the empty space he has been living in.

Instead of burying himself in his anger, he disciplined himself by training under a Martial Arts temple and for the first time, he found what he excelled at. For years, that was what kept him and his step-mother applauded his every accomplishment. It was different however for his father who never paid attention to what he does. Sometimes he thought that maybe he’d forgotten his name, or maybe forgotten his existence. He loved his step-mother but couldn’t help but still feel alone in a space with no real family.

Time passed for him, and as a growing boy, he was still as quiet and detached as ever. He completely got used to everyday living with the same two people but it wasn’t until there was another addition to the family, just a few months after his step-mother and his father got married. The child was small and frail and had a weak body. Even as a baby, it was sickly and needed more care than other infants. This kept his step-mother away from him as she became busy taking care of the child. What bothered the boy most was how his father seemed extremely happy and how he praised even the littlest accomplishment of the child. It left the boy with questions and an even greater abyss than what his mother has left him.

The boy found himself one day sitting across the woman he called ‘Mother’. She still had that twinkle in her eyes and she was as beautiful as ever as her locks fall down her shoulders. Though they parted in a bitter manner, their reunion was much happier. She had tears in her eyes like back then, but she was smiling. He felt her strong desire to just go over to him and lock him in her arms
but she didn’t. She sat patiently across him. “Beate,” in a loving manner, she called her son’s name. “How have you been? You’ve grown.” A beautiful smile filled her face and with just that, he felt a little bit better. The years they have not even met each other was made up that day, and all his anger and questions just faded away. She seemed to know more than what he told her. All these time, has she been watching from afar? He did not ask but he knew she never left him
There was only regret that he never had the courage to walk up to her back then. The seldom meetings became more frequent, and ultimately it lead to him watching her from afar. Often he would see her with a young boy, a brother he never met. Though they were different, they had a lot of things in common. “Do you want to meet him?” She asked. A shake of his head and a simple “No,” he answered.

“Then perhaps I could tell him about you?”

He was happy that way—the way his mother comforted him. He enjoyed each second they talked, and he didn’t mind at all how she would tell about his younger brother each time. “Rhymu,” she would always start their small talks with. It was the only source of comfort he had, those meetings.

But those did not last, for every last goodbye he bade her, he welcomed himself to that empty space again. It was always the same sight, a family where he didn’t belong to. The child, though steadily growing up, was as weak as ever and needed all the attention he could get. There were times the child’s parents left him to Beate, and this wasn’t rare at all. He would just stay inside the same room and wait until the child’s parents finally arrive. However, patience didn’t last as long as he wanted to.

For each meeting Beate had with his mother, she grew weaker and weaker, and her voice softer. He always told her to at least take a break from her work but she would always say that his brother would worry, and she needed to work for both of them. Sometimes, he couldn’t stop himself and just drops by her work place to make sure she was doing alright. Mother always wears that beautiful smile
but I knew there was something wrong.

One day, as the child’s parents were away, the child was especially sick and as usual, he just stayed in the same room, waiting patiently. A beep from his mobile alerted him and reading the message, he didn’t have time for any hesitation and stood up. He was just informed that his mother had collapsed. That time, he didn’t know what to think, he couldn’t stay calm and he just ran towards the door
only to be stopped by the small hands of the child. A tight grip by his clothing and the loud crying filled the room. Patience didn’t last as long as he wanted to. He pushed the child away, but he knew he needed his medication that time. Without thinking, he grabbed what medicine that was available and left as soon as the child took it. He didn’t care; he needed to see his mother now. Thoughts filled his mind, but midway to the hospital, he stopped and turned his back. It wasn’t right; a child shouldn’t be left alone like that.

He swallowed his sinking heart as he ran back. To Beate’s surprise, the child lied down, fever rising as heavy breathing came after. He picked the child up, noticing his skin starting to have dark spots. He stared down, his calm demeanor fading as he stood up and ran out, towards the hospital where he was heading to just a little while ago. What did he do wrong, what was happening? Never had he before, but he held the child close to him. Before they arrived at the hospital, most part of the child’s body was covered in dark spots, and he himself couldn’t recognize him.

The young man stared down his mother’s face. He was losing two people right at the moment. He gritted his teeth, held her hand one last time before he went back to the child. There was almost no trace of how he used to be; the people in white all around the child as the frail body started to collapse. He had poisoned him with the wrong medicine.

Time continued to pass as the beat of the child's heart continued to wane and vanish. The empty halls echoed with a couple of footsteps coming closer. Leaning on the wall by the door of the child's room, he couldn't even raise his head up to see the agonized look on his step-mother's face. Much to his detriment, he swallowed his growing guilt and looked at them as they approached. They didn't even see him; they passed him by as they attended to the child with the fainted heartbeat. He had killed his own brother. Just like that as she knelt beside him, the doctor's lips traced the time; tracing the time that his father looked at him and will be the last time that he will. He remembered that he existed--and for that moment, both him and his father had wished he never did exist.

"For the sake of those you've killed, you have to live for them."

So begins...

Rhymu and Beate

It was Sunday so Rhymu and Beate were free to stay at home and relax. Rhymu was still sleeping while Beate had already begun to move about. It was quite a small place, they usually took turns sleeping on the single bed of the apartment while the other one would be forced to sleep on the couch.
Beate began to wash dishes that were piled over from last night
and maybe even the previous week, it was a mystery to him, things weren’t very well kept. Someone had to get it done so he thought why not get it done himself, right now while there were no distractions. He liked the Peacefulness of the early hours of the day, usually the only thing he would hear besides his own thoughts would be the frivolous chirping of the birds just outside. It was peaceful and it was some of the only time he had to genuinely be alone with his thoughts ever since he found himself taking care of Rhymu.
He put the cup he had begun to wash down on the marble counter and began to stare blankly at the wall. If you were some passerby you might think he was expecting someone or something to come crashing through the wall right then and there, but only Beate knew his thoughts and he was lost in them again. It wasn’t uncommon of him to this, but these moments seeme to be more prominent now than any other time in his life. He shook his head to make his mind focus at the task at hand before he reached for the glass once more.
Suddenly his focus was broken once more, but not by the manifestation of his thoughts, this time by the sound a message tone in his pocket, a pleasant chime. It was actually quite a light kind of tone, not one meant to take your attention away from what you were doing, it seemed the tone existed to tell you “There is a message here but look whenever you’d like, I don’t want to intrude”. The only thing that made this tone so distracting is that neither Beate nor Rhymu own a cell phone. He reached down into his pocket, and pulled out a black sliding phone, he was vexed on how it got there he was sure there was nothing in his pockets when he put on his pants. He looked at the message that was just sent “Lucky chosen?” he read on “Games?”
Beate walked to the single bedroom and saw Rhymu still sleeping on the bed, this sight made him remember how he could have been sleeping on that bed if he hadn’t wanted Rhymu’s desert so bad. He shook him awake, held the phone right in front of Rhymu’s face and said “Please don’t tell me you spent our spare money on this” Beate was convinced this was some sort of prank Rhymu pulled, he was just hoping it didn’t cost as much as he thought it might.
“What” Rhymu said a tired voice, a yawn soon followed. Beate tossed the phone at Rhymu
“That”
Rhymu looked down at the phone with a confused look on his face. He picked it up off his stomach and examined it before looking back up and Beate
“I didn’t
” Rhymu stopped mid-sentence and looked a Beate with an even more confused face then he had when he examined the phone. Beate’s face also showed even more confusion than it had before upon looking into Rhymu’s eyes for the first time this morning.
“Whats wrong with your eyes” They both managed to say in unison. They both noticed that each other’s pupils were replaced with the number 0.
They stared at each other in silence until once more the phone made its pleasant ring once more, however this time it didn’t come from one source but two. Unknown two them bother there was another device laying on the nightstand next to the bed. Rhymu grabbed the other device and looked at Beate
“Whats going on?”
Beate grabbed one of the phones out of Rhymu’s hands and glanced at the new message.
“I don’t know
”

Beate stood tall in a living space much different from his own. His confusion was obvious as he sat on the bed in this strange place. The feeling of a bed was almost comforting seeing as he hadn’t slept on one the night before but only almost. The phone he had was still in his hand, it had managed to come with him on his journey. For the first time he sat down to actually understand the messages that were being sent on the phone now that he realized everything that was happening was all too real.

There was a kind of urgency in his reading, he seemed to skip over the bits and pieces that he deemed unnecessary to read to understand the concept. Within seconds he clearly had the thought in his mind that this place was inescapable. Whoever was outside the door waiting for one of the ‘players’ to run out would obviously have to be more well prepared than himself. This brought him back to the question how did whoever was doing this manage to get him here. Maybe it was a dream? ‘No, it seems to real’ he thought turning the device around to see if there was anything worth wile on its backside.

He stopped his thinking and stood up from the bed, if the messages were all accurate that meant someone else was in this living space with him just in another room. He opened the bedroom door and looked out cautiously to see who would be out there to greet him.

Nikky blinked once. Then twice, as she stared around at the now very different location she found herself in compared to the street in front of her tutors house. She appeared to be in some kind of sitting room, with soft couches and a low side table. The colour scheme was simple but comfortable in whites and beiges and it would of almost been pleasant if she didn't have any idea where the hell she was.

Glancing around the walls, she noticed a mirror hanging over what seemed to be an unlit fire place. Moving towards the mirror, her eyes widened in shock as she took in her new appearance. She had changed drastically from the simple outfit she had pulled on this morning, into what appeared to be a dress in black, yellow, orange and white; with metal claws; a black metal crown and some type of black and yellow metal wells which appeared to be how she was moving. Pausing as she took in her appearance, she also noticed her iris had become a 0.

Sudden a door opened to her left, causing her to spin round and lower her body into a defense stance she didn't even realise she knew how to do. A young boy, who seemed to be a little older then herself, entered the room with caution and she stood staring at him. Taking in his appearance as her clawed hand twitched slightly. He was pale, with bright yellow eyes and pale white hair; he was dressed strangely as well and also had some type of clawed hand though this one looked more deadly then her own, much smaller pair.

"Hello! It's so nice to meet you! My names Nicole Renard but everyone calls me Nikky or Nic, what's your name???", Nikky's eyes widened slightly as the weird sentence exited her mouth followed by an innocent smile and closed eyes. She never behaved that way, so why the hell was she doing it now?!

She waited patiently for the other guy to answer and found herself with a strange urge to grab the sword that rested in her thigh and can be summoned with its names... Wait... What! She had a sword!!! Why the hell did she have a sword! What the actual hell was going of here!

While this was all going on inside her brain, she didn't notice how her face remained innocent and childish as if it was some type of protective barrier stopping the thoughts in her head from appearing on her face, though the smile did turn slightly sour for a few seconds before returning to normal.

Nathan didn't even notice the teleportation had happened or what was happening around him. As far as he was concerned, he was at a pool party, in a hot tub surrounded by a group of girls he had met the other day who had been big fans of his.

He lay on a bed in a bedroom, though the room was plain and done in white and beige and had little else in it besides the bed and a side table. He didn't notice how his face was now part gas mask that would just show his now red eyes if he opened them.

He wouldn't of noticed if anyone entered the room unless they shoved him off the bed seeing as he was a heavy sleeper unless it came to his nightmares... Or tickling... Seeing as he was extremely ticklish for some reason. For now however, the room stood silent and empty, though if he had looked at the phone that lay on the side table besides him he would of know that someone was in his new location with him.

Rhymu

Not as soon as Rhymu arrived there was a loud yelp took him away from any thoughts he might have been having at the time. “Who are you” The same voice said in a very aggravated tone. Rhymu turned his head towards the voice. It was a girl, pale skin, black hair and red eyes, an interesting combination. The look did fit her tone though, both giving off a very indignant vibe.

Normally Rhymu would jump at the chance to talk and explain his confusion, to have a long and meaningful talk to someone who would seem to share the same confusion however this time was different. Instead of responding Rhymu wanted to stay quiet, he had a feeling like he could get out of the room even though he had no idea how he would go about that. A feeling that told him this girl meant little to nothing to him and should be treated as such. These feelings weren’t regular for Rhymu but he thought nothing of it, the only thoughts present in his mind were the thoughts of his Zero form.

The girl walked up to him, Rhymu assumed she walked up closer because of his failure to respond. He had a thought that if she yelled right next to him that he would strangle her. He found this thought amusing and his perfect straight face was disturbed by a micro expression of happiness. A twitch, a hint of a smile that lasted for maybe a millisecond before dissolving back into only a thought.

“I'm Minerva, and I really dont know why im so angry. I normally have better control over my emotions." The girl said to him in a much calmer voice. It was her lucky break, Rhymu no longer had the strong urge to hurt her anymore. In her calmer tone Rhymu noticed she had a pleasant sounding voice even with the Gothic exterior. Even still he found her introduction unnecessary, he really didn’t care about her identity, only about getting out of this ‘Game’.
He looked her right in the eyes with an expressionless face, her pupils were 0’s just like Beate’s were, the only difference is that her 0’s seemed to be a bright red just like the color of her eyes. He concluded that it just must be a trait of all the players stuck in this nightmare.

Rhymu broke eye contact and walked towards the window and away from the girl. He wanted to examine the window, if light was shining in then it would be extremely simple to get out right?
“You want out, right?”
Rhymu said in a very dull tone. He looked right into the window and was momentarily blinded by the light. He didn’t expose his discomfort and played it off by standing up straight and looking at the wall for a second before moving towards the door.
“Then why not try the front door”
He said whilst grabbing the doorknob.

Beate

Beate slowly opened the door to see someone or something make a 180 towards his direction. It was a girl that was for sure but she looked extremely strange. There was a mirror just behind her that made him realize just how much he himself had changed. He had ram horns and his skin had turned a pale white while the whites of his eyes managed to do just the opposite. His yellow Iris in contrast with now blackened sclera was mesmerizing, what was even more mesmerizing was that his pupil had turned into a 0 just like when he looked into Rhymu’s eyes.

For a moment he forgot that his left arm had turn into
something, however the mirror re-affirmed the fact that it was indeed there. His arm had turn into something resembling a claw of some sort. He wanted to see if he could wiggle his fingers but he couldn’t, his whole forearm seemed to be unmovable. Maybe a better description would be a blade with four different sharp endings? Or maybe it would just be best to stick with the claw idea.

He brought his attention back to Nicole just in time for her to introduce herself. Normally he would find the manner in which she did this rather cute(closed eyes, big smile) however he was still put off by what looked like wheels. He looked down at his own legs for a quick millisecond just to make sure his own legs were still there, thank God they were.

She also seemed to have a sword, though Beate hadn’t noticed until she subtly reached for it. It seemed his left arm looked even more threatening than he initially thought
perfect. It seemed it was time to be friendly or be attacked so Beate did what any rational person would do. He took a step out of the doorway before deciding to speak.
“Im Beate” He said very slowly, you feel the confusion simply through his words
“Do you have any idea what’s going on here?”

Huh? Nikky glanced back at the boy, her eyes coming into focus from the little world inside her brain that was having a mental break down though it wasn't shown. Beate? Was that his name? Probably, well know that you knew each other, what else was there to do?

"No clue!" She sang out in a sing song voice, placing her arms behind her back and leaning foward which in turn caused her to move forward. So that's how she moved? "But it seems to me like we have been trapped in this room, but it's claustrophobic if I must say." She commented, giving the room another once over, hoping for a brief period that something interesting might happen... Like a person being thrown through a wall...

"The hell is wrong with me...?" The next part was said in a mumbled tone as she looked towards the mirror. She looked like some type of super villian... Not to mention she had been behaving sickly sweet and innocent... "What's with this appearance anyway? I was wearing jeans and a tee when I left, and now I'm in a freaking dress! Not to mention these boots and gloves are blimming weird..." She didn't realise that the creepy, childish smile on her face had vanished and her normal expression of curiousity, interest and mild fascination took over her face instead. Her voice also sounded normal again, no longer high pitched or sing song but just normal...

"Where are we anyway?" She turned to the beate again. She hadn't really given him much time to reply but the curiousity was taking over... Not to mention she had this strange desire to get as much information from him as she could for blackmail or to save her own skin in the future before throwing him away... Maybe killing him...

"What the hell Nic? Something's wrong with you today..." She said while holding her head with her clawed hand, as if she was experiencing a head ache. Why would she want to kill a guy she just met?! He seemed nice enough and despite his also weird appearance, he was cute. So why the hell doe she want to see blood!?

Image

Nathan's brow scrunched up slightly as he felt a hand rest upon his shoulder and begin to shake him... "Mom! Five more minutes! I don't want to go to work and have Ryan rip me out for leaving before the afterparty..." He grumbled before rolling over and trying to swat the hand away.

Landing with his face in the pillow, he breathed in briefly as he was about to settle back into sleep... Hang on, this didn't smell like his pillow and that voice was definatly not his mothers... His head shot up as he turned to stare at a blue haired girl with wings. And angel? Angels had blue hair now? Well I guess even those in heaven get bored of being stereotypical...

"Who the hell are you and where the hell am I?" He said with a shocked expression, his eyes attached to the wings behind her shoulder. There was no way those could be real! "You interrupted my beauty sleep! What the hell! What are you going to do when all my fans start committing suicide because of the bags that will appear under my eyes!" His eyes widened. He had not just said that... Right? Please god don't let him have just said that! Especially not in front of a cute, if not slightly weird, blue haired angel... Not as hot as myself however...

"And apparently I have turned into a narcissist! Though who can blame me when I'm this gorgeous!" The latter sentence coming from his mouth as easy as breathing. "I'm Nathan Jones by the way, though I'm sure you have heard of me." He commented again, having the weird temptation to flip his hair. He had not realised that most of his face was gas mask and unrecognisable and his once blue eyes were now blood red as they looked at the girl. "Who are you? Not that I partially care..." He again felt the urge to examine his nails as if the girl in front of him was hot... Which she wasn't compared to him...

"Gah! Stop that brain! Your making me sound like a freaking retarded asshole..." He paused, "Did I just say that out loud?"

Rhymu

Rhymu jiggled the door knob and realized that it was locked right before Minerva went off on her rant, by the looks of it she was obviously unable to control her emotions, disgusting. He turned around towards her and looked at her with a straight face as she went on. It was a shame, just when he thought like he didn’t feel the need to do anything rash the feeling came back in full force. He had pretty much had enough of her by the time she said “you’re annoying” which just so happened to be the first words to come out of her mouth. Was she giving him demands? Telling him to sit down? No, this would not do, she was beneath him, even further down beneath him then he had initially thought.

The room filled with silence after she yelled at him for not telling her his name. He stared with his still blank face as she appeared to be calming down bit. But Rhymu learned from his last mistake of thinking she would actually stay that way.

“I don’t appreciate your tone of voice” Rhymu said walking towards her “And you know what” Rhymu had now stopped right in front of her trying to get in her face so she would understand the message “I’m sick of your voice, so why don’t you shut your mouth before I shut it for you” This was the last chance Rhymu was willing to give this girl. He had not been in the room for even 5 minutes and he was already sick of her, absolutely sick.

It was strange, Rhymu had never had these intense feeling of complete apathy towards another human being, yet he couldn’t help it. This state of mind was relaxing almost, it felt soothing to him. Even if there was a part of the old Rhymu still somewhere in Zero Rhymu’s mind, any ideas of nobility of empathy would be immediately shrugged off by this newer more “enjoyable” outtake on life.

Beate

Beate usually has ideas, plans, motives, but now he found himself face to face with a situation he knew nothing about and couldn’t control, the worst possible place you could put such an individual. It was nerve racking to not know what was going on and be presented with only one other person who had the same questions as he did. It was just
as said stated before the worst place you could put Beate.

The only information he got out of this was that this place was claustrophobic but honestly this was a step up from where he is used to living, but of course the place uncomfortable to be in considering the circumstances. She muttered to herself quite quickly before asking him where they were. Beate looked her in the eyes and wished he could simply say but he really couldn’t.

Beate never liked responding with “I don’t knows” or “I have no clue” as Nicole had put it, so instead of saying that he decided to stay quiet and think of a way to properly answer the question with “I don’t knows” being nowhere to be found.

Suddenly an idea popped into his mind, the phone thing
uh, device they called it. He quickly dug into his pocket not really knowing it was there, just assuming or even hoping it would be, and just like he had hoped it was there. He wanted to use the device to look at the description of this game, he didn’t read that carefully last time but he did pick up on the word “Keepers”. He quickly shifted his glance to that part of the message and it read ‘You may ask the keepers for any item you might desire, including food or drink, you may also ask them any question you like, of course they are not inclined to answer.’ Exactly what he was hoping for, he had questions and he might just be able to get answers from these keepers.

“The message says that we can ask the” He paused for a moment finding the name Keepers to be a bit ridiculous sounding but continued onwards “Keepers any questions” If he was going to figure anything out it would be like this because conversing with her was getting him nowhere. “I propose we try that”.
