Ooc: BleedingLover, Angel's laptop is so cute! I love Tokidoki!

Aaaaah..., Shawn sighed after he drank a sip from his cup of caramel nut mochachino. The taste was good, it was bitter and sweet at the same time but mostly sweet like the sound of the violin playing a happy melody; relaxing and refreshing. He does admit though, that the mixture needs to be a little creamier just to get the right amount of richness. He jotted the details down in his notepad and stuffed it in his pocket as he looked out the cafe window and observed the surroundings. It looked exactly like the pictures for once, unlike the tricky advertising the food industry puts up. A sunny small town with a bit of cozy historic feel to it. He had instantly liked it and thinks he's gonna stay here for awhile.

His trip to the island had been exhilarating and relaxing. The boat ride was a new experience for him and his hair was still messed up because of the wind blowing through it.

Truthfully, this was only the second time he has gone out of country to go and search for food to blog about, he was still new to the traveling thing. The first one was in San Diego where he tasted the most delicious barbecue ever and he ate with his fingers the whole time then he re-ordered a second helping. The waitress was probably wondering how a skinny boy could eat so much.
After he was finished, he interviewed the owner of the restaurant. The waitress overheard him say he was a food blogger and she recommended he go to this island for his next trip. She mentioned that there were many unique restaurants that were scattered in the area that haven't been given the spotlight they deserved. She had lived in the mainland but had often went to the island to enjoy the frequent festivals and the beautiful scenery. She said he would love the vibrant but calm atmosphere and that he would find many sweet things there but discover one thing that is even sweeter. He got confused and she just laughed and just told him to have fun. Now here he is taking advice from a strange woman and going on a new adventure all for the risk of being a food follower and he doesn't regret it one bit. He smiled at the thought, paid for his drink and mounted his red vintage-ish bike and rode to the place he was supposed to stay.

A stony path led to the brightly painted cabins. It was a bit of a stretch from the main core of the town and a bit uphill too but Shawn wasn't worried by it, he had plenty of energy left and he had only brought a backpack with his ukulele sticking out and a medium sized duffel bag that he had tied to the back of his bike.

As he was riding up the path, he soon noticed a tanned brown headed girl on the floor with her luggage strewn around her. He quickly hopped off his bike and helped her up.

"Hey, what happened? Are you alright?", he asked, worry creasing his face.

The girl looked up at him and jokingly commented that this frequently happened to her. He smiled at her ability to laugh it off in awkward situations. He too had his plenty of share of "accidents" and he would often just turn red, not say anything, and just pretend it never happened. She seemed really concerned about a certain piece of luggage that wasn't even dropped, rather strapped on the back of the befallen, the girl. He watched her curiously as she carefully opened the package, a violin, and was more relaxed after she saw it was fine.

The violin was in pristine condition, well taken care of, which is very unlike his ukulele. He just lugs it around in his backpack and plays it in the sun, rain, wind, and even snow. He wonders how it's still even playable after the wear and tear he's put it through.

The girl introduced herself as Ellery and took out her hand in greeting. Ellery, what a pretty name.., he thought, It rhymes with celery, canary, blueberry-- He snapped his attention to the girl again embarrassed to have his mind wander like that. He took her hand, shook it and smiled.

"My name's Shawn. Shawn Moon. Cool nickname and nice violin.", he was going to chat more but something told him to go to his cabin soon. "Uh, you're staying here right? Well, I hope I'll see you around. My cabin's at number 17, so if you need me I'll be there. Maybe we could have a jam session.", he grinned and pointed at his ukulele. "Okay,", he jumped on his bike, "totes!", he waved off and rode away. That was embarrassing, He sucks at talking to girls. She'll probably think he's weird and will probably never make eye contact with him again. He doesn't blame her. But something did tell him that there was someone already waiting in the summer home. Maybe the guy wants to hang out or something, sending telepathic messages for him to come faster.

He stopped in front of the small but somewhat cute yellow house. It had a colorful garden on the front, a lush green lawn and a white picket fence that surrounds the perimeter. It was the last home on the path, and the most uphill one, sitting just before a cliff that overhangs the ocean. It had a beautiful view. The sun was fully shining, the sky was blue, birds were flying and the ocean was calm, its waves flowing in a constant rhythm. Shawn smiled at his luck and imagining all the days he would spend in this wonderful place.

He parked his red bike beside the white wooden stairs leading up to the patio and slowly opened the door. The smell of freshly baked cookies instantly greeted Shawn. Nostalgia took over and he followed like a robot using his sense of smell to guide him. He found the plate of goodness on top of the kitchen counter and he almost died of happiness. He took one bite of the creation and sighed as it melted in his mouth. He hadn't noticed the girl sitting on the table as he was too enthralled with the cookies but he did eventually look up from the plate after tasting three.

"Oh, hi.", Shawn said sheepishly to the girl, ashamed to be caught in an act, he quickly put down the cookie he was holding and acted like he didn't know what came over him, which was partly true.

Matt's eyes narrowed at the computer screen, squinting under the glare of the sun he tried to concentrate on the game he was playing. Murky hazel eyes roaming over the screen, he head the faint click of the door opening. Freezing, he looked up to see someone set their bags. More importantly, it was a girl. Which was fine to have as a roommate, but maybe just a bit awkward. Closing the laptop, his eyes turned towards her. He could see the slightest hint of annoyence on her face, she was probably not loving the arrangement right now.

"Yeah, I'm your roommate. My names Matt," eyes wandering towards the television, he tried to steady his beating heart. He wasn't to good with talking to strangers, obviously working day-and-night having taken a toll on his social skills. "What's your name?" He asked casually, combing a hand through his hair. Hopefully the girl wouldn't get a bad idea of him just because of the colour. He wouldn't blame her though, it was a little unnatural. Maybe he should dye it a dark brown this time? Foot rapping against the floorboard, he tried to think of something to say once the young woman told him her name.

Shifting on the sofa, Matt looked at the television. The news was on, how lovely, he thought sarcastically rolling his eyes. The young woman introducing herself as Ellery, which was weird it was pretty cool though. Unique, not to outlandish but he'd probably call her Elle since it didn't sound so foreign to him. Plus he didn't want to mess up the pronunciation with his Japanese accent, which only came out when he either tried to talk fast or pronounce a word he wasn't quite comfortable with. "Umm...it's nice to meet you Ellery," saying the name slowly so he didn't mess it up.
"Since we're roommates, I guess we should get to know each other better."

Re-lacing his converse, he tried not to stare into the girl's eyes. They were a unique colour and almost resembled wheels. Matt absolutely detested his eye's, they were a murky hazel with copper flecks. The outside a weird dark green, the only time his eyes changed into a nicer colour was with certain lighting and when he was mad. "I worked over-seas, teaching English," which always earned a gasp from a few people.
He was a little to young to teach English, you really didn't even need a degree, but it wouldn't hurt. One thing he loved about it was experiencing another culture. "You?"

Matt nodded as Ellery explained all the languages she knew, so she could probably speak it, albeit, broken sentences. It was still quite impressive in his book. The Spanish teacher she had though sounded like she was a little out there. As she continued to explain what she wrote about, he rose a brow at the domestic violence. It piqued his interest, but he wasn't so into sadness and drama like that. When he was little, Matt had a thing for being a little sensitive. He still is, some of his co-workers even seeing him shed a few tears before. That was a different story though, he thought getting rid of the memories.

Tapping his chin, Matt furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, I work in Yokohama currently. It's a really large city. And it's pretty close to Tokyo, I really love to visit Minato Mirai 21. It's this huge futuristic harbor and has this huge Ferris Wheel where you can see everything," as if to accentuation it, Matt threw his hands up. A big smile lighting up his face, "It's so beautiful there. Man, I already miss the place," laughing sheepishly, he turned his gaze out the window. The sun was starting to set, "I haven't been to any other places, but I intend to going to Seoul next once I'm done in Japan."

Letting his gummy smile fall, his eyes looked toward the door, "Hey, do you want to explore the town?"

Watching as the waiter left, Matt couldn't help but admire how the girl looked. She looked like someone who just jumped out of a manga, although he kinda detested all the typical stereotypes. The place was still nice, maybe tone down the pink though. Smoothing out any stray hairs, he took a glance out the window. The sun was starting to set, soon he'd probably go back, or not depending if Ellery wanted to go too. He really didn't want to walk the long road alone, even though they didn't say anything.

I'm already feeling a little homesick, he thought looking down at the table sadly. Sighing, he looked out the window squinting through the light, "So, is there anything I should know about you...since we are going to be roommates anyway...," he trailed off, hazel eyes darting around the room.

Jumping back slightly, Matt put his hands up in defense. "Easy, I just finished first that's all....so you must really love the Violin." Stating it more for his sake than anything, leaning against his elbow, he slowly got up stretching. A yawn escaping his mouth. It must be nice to have a hobby, he really didn't have one since his interests shifted quite fast. A jack of all trades, but a master of nothing was what his mother would always say.

"Well, better head out now." Dusting off his pants, he said a small goodbye as he waited for Ellery.

Tossing in his bed, Matt turned violently as he crashed toward the floor. The blankets fallowing after him. Letting out a groan of frustration, he heard the familiar voice of Ellery. Staring at the digital clock, he wipped the sleep from his eyes. She's been gone long, he thought going downstairs to get a glass of water.

"It's fine," Matt stated before grabbing a glass watching as the clear liquid filled it up. "You must have fallen asleep, huh?"
