When the door opened, Julian wasn't at all surprised by who he saw, but was delighted all the same. He let out a simple hey to answer his friend's hello as he entered the apartment. He was always surprised by how nice the place was. Sure, Rhowsen was a smart and capable woman, but she still was thrust into this foreign world, same as he was with nothing in terms of the material. Still, she provided for herself nicely, although not in the most healthy environment with someone with her disorder. As far as he knew, Julian was the only one who had been inside this place besides the landlord or the maintenance workers who repaired anything broken. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing however as he knew that for the most part, Roz could take care of herself and the only thing she needed was some company, which he was more then happy to provide.

It only took him a few moments to notice where her attention lied. The shattered pieces were in plain view on the kitchen floor. He felt a little guilty, figuring he startled her with his knock. However, his feeling of guilt quickly faded as a smile came across his face as he saw Rhoswen's wanting eyes as she starred at the coffee still in his hands.

"How about you take this and I'll handle the glass." he said, slowly handing her one of the Styrofoam cups and proceding towards the kitchen, placing his thing on the table and looking over the area for a broom.

"So, how are you feeling?" Julian began simply, his eyes still occupied by the search for the broom.

Rhoswen’s eyes light up like that of a child on Christmas morning as she’s handed the cup, her attention shifting briefly to the man who’d bestowed her with coffee. Her smile was the embodiment of gratitude, blinding in its unbridled exhilaration. With one sip all her anxieties are forgotten, her nerves satiated by the hot, caffeinated beverage. As Julian excuses himself to the other room, Rhoswen turns so her gaze can follow. It never ceases to amaze her how tangible he appears, how anything in her reality will conform to his actions. This coffee shouldn’t exist, but she can feel the heat of it in her hands. He shouldn’t be able to touch the broom, but it’s there when she hands it to him after she retrieves it from beside the refrigerator. “I’m alright,” she replies, just as simply, her smile softening in the wake of concern, “Did you sleep well?” It was about a dozen questions in one, most she’d never bring herself to say. Julian not having a bed to call his own brought more grief than it should in light of the circumstances. Nevertheless her heart never ceased to ache whenever she thought of her friend sleeping out on the streets.

"I slept alright. I stayed at a shelter yesterday. Usually, not my thing, but it wasn't so bad." Julian stated as he brushed the pieces of the cup into the broom's dust pan. It was always an odd feeling when Rhoswen would look at him. Most times it felt like she was studying him more then anything else, but it was always accompanied by a feeling of undeniable warmth. Maybe it was because it was nice to not be in another strange place for once, but Julian knew deep down it was something else.

As he poured the dust pan's contents into the trash bin, the falling pieces reminded him of something he had just learned. "Actually, I have something to show you." he said, putting the broom back where Roz grabbed it and sitting down at the kitchen table, motioning for his friend to join him. When she did, he retrieved his bag and pulled a single light bulb from it."I got bored at the library one day and one of the lamps went out. That gave me the idea." Julian explained as he lifted the bulb to Rhoswen's eye level so she could see what happened next. The bulb seemed normal at first, but soon after, his hand began to spark with electricity. This subsided quickly however as the charge in his hand went into the bulb, setting it alight. "So, what do you think?" he asked, honestly unaware of his friend's opinion of his new trick. He hadn't shown his abilities off much since he received them, but Rhoswen was at least aware of what he could do.

Taking another sip of her coffee to conceal her frown, Rhoswen chases her guilt away with indulging in his company. Julian wasn't on the streets now, he was in her apartment. Here he’ll be safe and warm and — if he’ll permit it — fed. As Julian is reminded of something, claiming to have something to show her, Rhoswen is spurned from her momentary solace. Curiosity curried her attention, willing her to follow as he beckoned her to sit with him. She watches with vigilance, her doe eyes widening in awe as sparks crackle off his skin. At first she’s concerned he’s hurt but one double take has her believing otherwise. She’s just looked back when the light bulb suddenly shines, glowing without an outlet right before her eyes. Rhoswen’s lips part in a reverent smile and, slowly, she reaches out to touch. It’s warm, giving off the same heat it would had the bulb been screwed into a lamp.

““It’s amazing,” she says on a breath, flitting her gaze to capture his own. Rhoswen considered it nothing short of an honor to be shone what he can do, her own ability no secret to her companion. For a moment she plays with him, taking the bulb out of his hand and putting it back in just to watch to bulb turn on and off. She beseeches him for more and, when the coffee is finished, they retire to the living room where they sit side by side on the sofa and watch television. It’s no more out of the norm than his arrival and yet it’s something she’ll never get accustomed to. Still, she leans into Julian, reassured by his presence now that she is no longer alone.
