Phoebe's a kind hearted, well liked person. She's hardly put down by little things, they don't matter. Phoebe cares more about her family, friends and loved ones than she does about herself. She's always going out of her way even if it's the smallest of things like helping someone across the street even when she's in a rush. The only time you'll ever see Phoebe cry or sad in general is when someone she loves and or cares about dies. Takes her a little while to get over that little bump but she gets stronger each time it happens.
A lot of times people say she's a natural born helper, or that she's just like that so people get the right impression. She's doing it for show, since she doesn't only help people cross the street and what not, she writes an advice column in the newspaper helping people when ever she can with not only their personal problems but public ones too. You will always see her helping out, she would hate for something to happen that she can't do that anymore. That's one of her biggest fears in life.
~ History ~
Now you are probably wondering why Phoebe is always so nice to people in her life, even when she's dealing with stuff herself. Well the reasoning is personal, you see growing up for Phoebe was difficult. She had an abusive father, who often hit her mother when he was drunk or just angry. As Phoebe got older her father would often go for her to beat on if the mother wasn't home. She's have to hide bruises when going to school so no one would question. Only once it slipped and boy was her father mad. Before he could punish her again, the police show'd up and took him away, and just got out of jail not to long ago.
She's always afraid of being beaten again so she's nice to not only strangers but really nice to friends and family, just so it doesn't happen again. That's another one of her top fears in life, is to be beaten again. That's one thing she doesn't need to be reminded of, Phoebe doesn't even like to bring it up in a conversation when they are talking about family because she's so ashamed of what happened.
