Aspirations: Harper hopes to continue acting for the rest of her life and hopefully start a family one day.
Personality: Being the daughter of the "perfect Hollywood couple", Richard and Kathryn Regan, has allowed Harper to live a life that many envy. As a child, she was given nearly whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it. Her parents were loving and showered her in the newest toys, prettiest clothes and the most wonderful experiences and trips that a child could dream of. While this was all wonderful, it has left her with a sense of entitlement to things, regardless if she really does deserve it or not. She's tried to break this since after growing up, she's learned that the real world doesn't really work like this but it's still not uncommon for her to just expect people to make exceptions for her because of the fame attached to her name.
She's a bit extravagant, always wanting to go all out in whatever she's doing- whether it's throwing a party, dressing up for a night on the town or making an appearance at a social event. Attention seems to be one of her favorite things and she likes being noticed. While many celebrities dislike the paparazzi, she sees no problem in them taking pictures of her whenever they can get a chance. She comes across as being very confident, almost to an extent of being arrogant, but she's just good at hiding her faults.
For most of her life, Harper had been the middle child between Izzie and her younger brother. She hadn't minded this because she felt like each one of them had a specific role in the family-- Izzie was the oldest, she was the youngest girl and her brother was the only boy in the family. When Emily came along, although Harper was already thirteen, she felt like her place as the baby girl in the family had been taken by her new baby sister. In response to this, Harper adopted a more immature and reckless personality in order to capture her parents' attention. This still exists today, in the way that she is a bit childish and still likes to be cared for, and she still does have a little bit of resentment towards Emily, no matter how unjust it is. Harper loves Izzie, despite how different the two are appearance and personality wise. Harper has always been the girly girl of the two, obsessing over her appearance and material items. People often find it weird that her oldest sister is dating someone like Carson and they often comment on how they'd expect Harper to be with a guy like him over Izzie. She's always stuck with the stereotype that she's boy crazy when in reality, Harper doesn't like boys at all. She discovered it in high school but having two devoted Catholics as parents, Harper knew better than to come out and has kept her relationship with Lynn a secret from everyone, including Izzie, until now.
She's a little bit flighty and finds it hard to focus on one thing for too long, unless she's acting.
Reaction to murder/suicide: The death of her parents and brother has hit Harper hard, as it would to anyone experiencing such an atrocious thing. While she is very upset, she refuses to cry in front of anyone or do anything that might make her appear weak or vulnerable. Instead, she has adopted more of an aggressive personality, snapping at innocent people very easily and blaming things on loved ones which she knows will strain her relationship with Lynn. She is in shock over the loss and doesn't know how else to cope. She doesn't want to accept that her parents or brother are gone because she can't see her life going on without them there. She's pushing most of the responsibility of caring for Emily and dealing with all of the legal changes to Izzie because she really just can't deal with it. The only positive that has come out of all of this is that she now can openly have a relationship with Izzie because her parents aren't here to criticize her and while before the deaths, Harper saw them as the only ones who would have a problem with her sexuality, she is now overwhelmed with the opinions of the rest of the world and her remaining family members.
