Ability:

Palletakinesis: Samantha's ability is a rather odd one - she possesses the ability to create and manipulate paint and ink to various ends. She can create and control various constructs, including weapons, armor, walls, and minions. Her constructs are not without limits, however; complexity, quantity and distance all have their limits, and exceeding these limits will result in her constructs losing their form, turning them into large puddles of goo. She can also take direct control of a specific construct to see/hear/smell/feel the world around it, provided it was drawn with sufficient sensory organs (eyes, nose, ears). If the construct in question has a mouth, she can also speak through it. She can also "paint" her will onto the world, using her art to warp reality within a certain radius. She most frequently uses this aspect of her power to trap victims in a realm of illusions, or to remove obstacles which she would have otherwise been unable to surmount. All aspects of her power require her to be able to complete her drawing before they can take effect. Her abilities can also be quite draining, and she suffers from chronic headaches which, should she overextend herself, can become severe nosebleeds that may require medical attention. Her constructs can also become compromised if they get too wet, though if she is only using one construct she can resist this weakness. Due to her ability to use constructs from a distance, her face remains almost entirely unknown to others.

Appearance:

Samantha stands at 5'6", with a slender physique. She has prominent cheekbones and a narrow chin, with dark eyes and hair that falls in waves past her shoulders. She prefers to wear clothing that is both comfortable and flattering.

Talents
Sam is a rather decent artist, and is able to draw rather quickly. She can keep a calm head in extremely stressful situations, and isn't distracted by emotional responses. As she puts it, "things don't bother me." She's also rather bright, and is a gifted liar.

Weaknesses
Samantha has trouble with emotional responses; she's not incapable, it's just difficult. She struggles to form emotional connections, and her perceived inability to sympathize has caused her to be branded a sociopath on more than one occasion, and has resulted in the loss of several relationships. She also has difficulty focusing when she reads.

- Drowning
- Isolation
- Cockroaches

Personality:

Samantha is an easy-going sort, with a smart mouth. She attempts to compensate for her difficulty in forming relationships with humor, and while this does serve to endear her to others, they can tire of her quickly when they realize humor is all she has. Most tend to view her as being rather immature and incapable of taking things seriously, a viewpoint as frustrating to Samantha as it is to those who hold it.

Samantha can also be somewhat of a nihilist; nothing matters, so she may as well have some fun. This is one of the driving forces behind her villainy. Her ability to alter reality around her, even if temporarily and only in a limited space, has also caused her to become somewhat of a narcissist, further alienating her from other people.

History:

Sam grew up poor, in a tiny apartment so infested with cockroaches that it left her with a permanent fear of them. When she was in grade school her step-father tried to kill her mother in a drunken rage, leaving her in a permanent coma, and she and her two sisters were left in the care of their oft-absent birth father. Sam and her sisters struggled to get by as their father spent all his time and work and their step-father worked his way through the legal system. Despite the man's status as a murderer, he was ultimately charged with just domestic violence, receiving a two year sentence and court-mandated anger management. Despite her best efforts, Samantha found herself rather numb to the whole ordeal. She got through the rest of 6th grade, got through middle school, and finally graduated high school as a stunningly average student.

Though she wanted to go to college, she lacked the funds, and instead got a job at a convenience store, selling her artwork in a park when she had the time. It was here that she first discovered her powers; one day while finishing a man's $5 request, she looked up to see the very thing she'd drawn standing behind her easel. Shocked and amazed, she ran home and spent the next two days testing her abilities. Realizing this was her ticket out of poverty, she began utilizing her powers in a string of small heists. She wasn't a villain, not yet; at the time, she was simply a thief. As she further developed her abilities, however, her confidence grew, and she began to go after tougher challenges. It stopped being the money she wanted, though she certainly did enjoy it. Even as a starving artist selling her sketches for change, she never had any desire to be wealthy, as she wouldn't know what to do with that much money even if she did have it. It was simply something to do.

She hadn't realized it, but she had been bored with her life. She had been bored by school, she had been bored by work, she had been bored by her step-father's trial and the gangs she'd learned to avoid on her way home. Using her abilities had provided the most entertainment she'd had in a long time, and she began searching for excuses to use them. She began hiring herself out to crime syndicates and bounty offices alike, all while taking special care never to reveal her face. She refused to take any job involving assassination or excessive violence; she was a thief, after all, not a murderer. (Except for when she was pursuing bounties of course; then she was a bounty hunter, not a murderer.) Unfortunately, all things must come to an end, however, and many heroes began targeting her constructs as if she were a villain. They had grown tired of her robberies and "games", no matter how many criminals and fugitives she'd brought in. So it was that she found herself forced into allying with the Villains, regardless of her own insistence that she wasn't one.

E could hear the background noise, Robin hood taking down the gunmen, the puppy hero wanting said robin hood to finish off the gunman, which, if he were more... well, if he weren't so occupied, he would have made a comment on how odd it was that the heroes were the ones so quick to shoot in this, of Chiaroscuro asking for news, any news, but he couldn't say, or do, anything. All he could do was watch Nora and know that, if anything, all his touch had done was made it worse.

The convulsing had only gotten worse, and his entire body jumped when she screamed mere moments after touching her. E's first instinct was to move his hand and run, but before he could move an inch, she was clutching onto him, holding his arms in a vice-grip. "Nora!" E shouted once again, a vain effort to bring it to an end, to make her just stop. In response, she screamed. E winced and once again tried to pull away, but he couldn't break her hold.

The scream was pierced through him and struck his core, he had heard people scream before, but this was different, it was filled with so much pain, but it was almost as if she wasn't there. It was as if he was listening to a recording of her screaming in pain, locked in some far away room, a room where he, or anyone, could not reach her. Trapped in whatever was going on in her mind with the world just outside.

"Nora," E said desperate, this wasn't fair. He had always done his best to avoid this exact situation, he never should have joined this team, there was nothing wrong with being alone, this was... he couldn't deal with this. Trying, and failing, to block out the screams, he almost sagged with relief when he saw the milky white color slowly drain from her eyes, but her clutch was just as strong as ever, and he was terrified of sending her into another vision, heaven knows what she had already seen.

His name coming over his comm drew his attention back from the recovering psychic, "I-I," he started, his voice trailing off at Hecate's question, "Y-Yeah, Omen had a vision... maybe more, I don't know, I think we are alright.." He said almost more to himself before casting a look down at the woman clutching on to him, "We... are alright... aren't we?"

Finally, some news! Well, not exciting news. If Eitan's tone was anything to go by, Delphi's vision had been rather less than routine. "Delphi, you okay over there?" she asked, eyes flicking momentarily to the office building before returning to the confrontation in front of it. "Nora? What did he do?"

To be fair it probably wasn't his fault, but then, it probably was. E seemed the type to make things worse in ways that, while not necessarily bad, were certainly kind of annoying. She also decided that if he did do something to upset her... what was her relationship to Delphi? Adviser? Guidance councilor? Guidance councilor, that felt funny enough to be the one she could go with. Getting back to the main train of thought however; if Speeds Mcgee had done something to upset Delphi, Samantha would have to punish him.

Nora always had an aftershock from her visions, sometimes it was worse than others, all she could think this time was, At least I didn't pass out...

Her body was still shivering almost as if she was placed in the middle of Antarctica, cold sweat plastered to her face, and it took her a couple of moments to recover. She then realized her death grip on E, and immediately let him go, taking quick steps away from him bumping into the desk behind her. No telling what E, just saw, witnessed. Oh god, She could only think as she stared at him, she still wasn't used to having detrimental visions, in front of people. Normally in her shop, she just had small ones that only looked like she was day dreaming it wasn't as horrific, but this, she never let anyone see this. "E, oh god. I- I am so sorry" she said quickly crossing her hands over her chest locking them where nothing could touch them. If she were him she'd never want to even get close to her anymore.

Still as she was recovering, the vivid flashes of her vision still remained, swimming around in her head, and, and, E. His vision, it hit her like an aftershock of a earthquake. She wasn't supposed to have seen that, what was she supposed to do? She quickly looked down at the ground, she hoped her face wasn't giving anything away. She couldn't mention it to him, not now.

"I'm f- fine, just a little shaken", she said into the comm so the others wouldn't worry.

"W- We should leave, get the others. I need some time to t- think" Her voice came out almost as shaky as the current state of her mind.

He watched with seeming boredom as Red and Blue made there way over to help with Zoe's injured ankle. Though truth be told he was actually curious and watched Red as she casually murdered someone before their very eyes. Granted it was someone all to willing to kill everyone present, and Surge really couldn't bring himself to care. It was simply surprising to watch a hero do an enemy in, and as far as he was concerned it simply highlighted how self-righteous they could be. Of course it was okay when a hero took a life. "Guess they just don't make heroes like they used to." He spoke in response to Hecate, and really the tone of his voice made the intentions behind his words somewhat muddy. It could have been an insult, an indication of surprise, or even a compliment. When Red spoke to him he didn't really respond, offering only a small nod. Of course he wouldn't actually leave until Blue finished with Zoe's ankle.

He watched as Blue went to work on Zoe. Fortunately it didn't take long, and as she got back u she raised a good point as she spoke into the communication device. E had been unusually quiet. Did something happen? Was E hurt? What about Nora? He let out a sigh. he shouldn't have left them. He was about to speak up when E's voice rather shakily came through the comms device. It was easy to see why, and Surge's face went uncharacteristically white. He was well aware of how unpleasant Nora's visions could be. he eased slightly when Nora said she was fine but concern still lingered in his mind. H e simply waited patiently to find out her vision and consequently what their next move should be.

"Hey, I didn't do any-" E paused for a moment, "Kinda do anything," As, looking back, touching someone who gets visions through touch as she was having a vision was a pretty stupid plan, but hey, hindsight is 20/20. At the very least, she was as shaken up as he, would have been so much worse if she had come out of it unphased, would have certainly 'unmanned' him, as it were.

Still, what had she seen? Had she seen something about him when he touched her? He hoped not. He had some shit he wanted to keep to himself, and more over, he didn't want to know his future. E liked surprises, would ruin the experience if she told him what happened in the next Star Wars movie... Yeah, he was going with that.

"Yeah," E agreed as he tapped his comm, "Time to get the fuck out of here. Gunshots and what not tend to summon the cops, unless we are in a certain parts of the city, but sadly, we aren't. Hell, I would be almost willing to leave my car unlocked in this neighborhood... if, you know, I had a car."

Moving to the windows to take a peek, he spotted a man standing in the street with two knives, he couldn't make out his face from this distance, "Hey, guys, who the fuck is that? You know. Guy with the knives? Hey, you know what? Don't answer. I'ma just go home. Yeah, Omen had a vision, and I assume she got what we needed, so fuck that guy, not even dealing with that."

E took a moment to gather himself, and his courage, before turning back to Nora, "Hey, did you bring gloves or something? I can zip us out of here faster, but, you know, don't wanna do, well, no touchie. Kinda got that now."

Yeah, Sam was getting just a little tired of the surprises and hero-murders for one night. She moved back out of the park, sticking to the shade to keep from being seen and hoping Edgelord the Edgehog couldn't pull some weird shadow-based spidey sense. When she felt she was a good enough distance away, she pressed her finger to the button on the comm.

"Hard to believe this is coming out of my mouth, but I agree with Flash and the white mage. See you guys back at the safe house or whatever," she cast a look behind her as she headed down the sidewalk. "And Delphi, make sure you have protection before speed freak over there lets you ride him."

She made her way through the city streets, discarding her mask down a sewer drain somewhere between the park and her destination. She took unnecessary turns and waded through the most crowded streets, a precaution to prevent from being followed, before coming out in her own familiar, shady neighborhood.

She opened the door to a shop with "PAWN" hanging above the entrance in large neon letters. A small sign in the window read "Bernini and Sesshū Consultation Services, Second Floor", her own small advertisement to prospective clients. A man sitting behind a counter with a steel cage separating him from customers grunted in acknowledgement of her presence, the grand extent of their usual interaction. He pressed a button under his counter to unlock a door in the back which boasted the same sign as the window. Samantha ascended the staircase waiting through it, then went through a second door at the top.

The second floor was split in two; the door she had come from led into her business space, a small office with a single chair and an uncluttered desk. A locked room to the left led into her living space, which also served as her hiding spot when controlling the constructs who interacted with her clients. She went through this door now, revealing a cramped space with a tiny kitchen and bathroom just off the combined living room, bedroom, and whatever-else-she-needed-it-for room. Not the most extravagant place she could afford, perhaps, but it discouraged prying eyes.

It was also right across the street from her favorite adviser. Should she have informed Delphi that she'd been living right across from her place of business all this time? Yes. Was it creepy that she took advantage of the position of her living room window to spy on the psychic's front door? Maybe. She justified it to herself with the knowledge that she'd been living there since before she ever met the seer, and being so close meant she could just swoop in to save the day if anyone ever showed up who had a beef with Nora. Also it was kind of funny to throw pebbles at Nora's shopfront when she went to open the door and watch her jump.

Samantha moved to the kitchen, grabbing herself a big bag of funyuns and a bottle of orange soda before settling down on her futon to play the new Digimon game and wait for the others to get to their little hiding place.
