Hanako Takashi

"Let's do something the whole world will remember!"

0 · 394 views · located in Tokyo

a character in “A Means to an End”, as played by Kaire23

Description

Name:Hanako Takahasi

Alias: Mia Suzuki

Age: 19

Appearance:ImageHanako has brownish blonde hair and scarlet eyes. She is 5'6" and is slim. She is in right in between being pale and having a tan.

Personality: Saying Hanako is insane is a understatement. Hanako is absolutely crazy and always gets her way or other people will pay the price. Hanako can be extremely childish and often doesn't know what she wants with life. After seeing how Kira reacted to (L but unknown name at the moment), she wanted to meet him right away but had no idea why. She is extremely dangerous but can turn into a great ally if you treat her right. She's relatively okay under pressure but easily breaks under captivity. Reminders of the captivity she used to be in sometimes brings on panic attacks. She has extreme abandonment issues and can be a bit paranoid.

Likes:Sweets, Bacon and Eggs (Right Mr.Pants? ;D ), Cherries , Strawberries, Being her insane self, Drawing and taking pictures, the thought of the people who wronged her being dead, and KIRA!

Dislikes: Veggies, Acting Sane, the people who wronged her, and chains.

Fears:Being bound and the people who abused her and killed her sister coming back and taking her again.

Disposition: Pro-Kira all the way.

Bio: Hanako grew up well all until her 10th birthday. Before that day, she walked, talked, and experienced the same things normal people did. Her sister was a Beautician and often taught her the works of her job. (That would later lead to Hanako's amazing disguises.)
On her 10th Birthday, her sister was shot down right before her eyes and she was kidnapped (For ransom purposes because her parents were filthy, stinking rich.) She then spent about a year being abused, brutally hurt both physically and mentally, and raped. When she was finally found, some screws weren't in the right place. She went to counselors in the beginning but they all claimed her to be sane because she outsmarted them. Hanako knew what the consequences would be if she didn't come out of those sessions "sane" so she always put on her best act. Surprisingly, This act wasn't as hard as she expected either because she often had to act to make her captors keep her alive when she was kidnapped.
She graduated from high school with a straight B average (Her parents always tried to motivate her but she just didn't really try in school and decided to just get something that wouldn't give her praise or scolding.) and moved out of the house shortly after she graduated. On her way home one day, she found the death note laying on the ground outside her apartment. She picked it up without a moment of hesitation. She was walking up to her room when she saw the news cast on. On the news was (TBA if this happens. If not, I'll change it.) She learned of Kira while watching the newscast and he soon became her role model who she wanted to meet at all costs.

~In my hands, the means. In my heart, the will.

Hanako walked out of another depressing day of college and quickly made her way to the parking lot. She absolutely hated college. The walls, the rules, and most of all, the god damn people. She hated them all. Thinking they could get away with everything. It infuriated her!

After a couple of deep breaths, she continued walking. She learned this trick in captivity. If she thought she was going to lose it, she just took a few breaths until she was under control again. It always worked unless she was in a small space or locked up.

Finding her way to her motorcycle, she quickly slipped on some goggles so she could go fast without being blinded and still letting her hair fly. She absolutely loved the freedom the motorcycle gave her. It was better than any car. Cars were surrounded by walls which after awhile, made her feel claustrophobic again.

After awhile of adjusting the goggles, she got on her bike and-... Wait a second... What was this?

Curious, she grabbed the mysterious black notebook. In white letters, it said "Deathnote" across the front. Scanning it for a second, she tucked it away in her book bag. She liked the name it had. Smiling as she put up the kick stand, she took off, driving home fast. She loved this feeling more than anything. She couldn't wait to get home and read what was in the notebook.

Kaegira was perched on top of an important-looking building, squinting and scowling at the sun, his tail swung over the edge of the roof top while he looked out at swarms of humans entering and exiting the building. He almost began wondering what sort of things took place inside the building, until suddenly, a girl emerged from the building and began making a bee-line towards the Deathnote and her motorcycle. As soon as it touched her fingertips, if she were to turn around and look up, he would be visible to her and no one else because no human had ever touched his deathnote before, so this was surely going to be an exciting time.

He'd thrown the Deathnote down not twenty minutes ago, and he hadn't expected such a quick rebuttal, but now that the Deathnote was in her possession, he was going to make sure that she knew what sort of power she held in her hands. After all, this could only be fun for him; he didn't want to miss a single second of it.

Kaegira spread his wings and began gliding towards the girl who was swiftly taking off to the streets much faster than he anticipated. "Damn it," he said, giving chase, though he was no match for the motorized vehicle. "Oh well, she can't reverse the deathnote's affects. I'll find her eventually." He began to bound through the streets, trying to remember what her motorcycle looked like and which way she went. "After all, once she sees me, I'll know it's her. Damn, I can just imagine the look on her face." Kaegira began laughing uncontrollably just thinking about a frightened little girl picturing a monster before her. "Oh, yeah. I'll definitely know it's her."

He checked down many different streets for a parked motorcycle, but he wasn't having much luck. Quietly, he began to hum to himself an old tune. The lyrics to the song went along the lines of, "Humans are such feeble things, but we love all the death it brings. Catch a heartstring by the toe, Eenie, meenie, miney, mo. Something, something, I dunno. I forgot the rest."

Hanako pulled up to her estate and parked the car in the garage. Twirling the keys after confirming the gate was closed, she started unlocking all the locks on her door. Smiling as she saw everything in the same place, she locked all the locks behind her. Call her paranoid, but she had a very valuable reason.

Walking into her living room, she flipped on the television before walking over to her desk, putting down all her books. She quickly did a small spin, knowing she was alone. The one good thing about college was that her parents allowed her to finally move out. The happiness she felt about the freedom was massive. She could do whatever she wanted.... As long as she did her homework and finished law school, she was fine....

Suddenly angry about her lack of freedom, she chucked the remote to the television at the wall. She didn't like the limits her parents gave her. Sitting at her chair in a huff, she opened her book bag, she found the small notebook.

"Oh yeah... I forgot about this..." She mused quietly as she flipped open the first page.
"Hmm, let's see here.... The person's whose name written in this death note.... Shall die!?... What the hell...?" She questioned the little booklet, unsure to trust it or not. It might as well be a scam, but she wanted to believe it. Oh, she really wanted to believe it.

Sighing as she continued to read on, she read the next couple of rules.
"This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person’s face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected. " She stated as she nodded slightly. Smart. The person who made this was thinking of things that would make it look false.
"If the cause of death is written within the next 40 seconds of writing the person’s name, it will happen. " She finished with a smirk. That thought drew her in. Not only being able to decide who died, but how they died. That, was a gift from god.

Scanning the next few rules, she started to decide if she wanted to try or not. Biting her lip, she twirled her pen. She had the means, but did she have the will? Sighing, she closed it.
"Not yet. Homework first and then we'll see if I have the will." Hanako said to herself as she started on her homework.

Hanako Takashi had been her name, although he pretty much forgot the looks of her automobile by now, he distinctly remembered the name of the girl. He was very close to just giving up and waiting back at the other building for a few days to see if she would come back until he fatefully glanced in her direction as she was pressing the key into the lock of her home. "She lives alone..." He guessed by the emptiness from within the house that she didn't room with anybody else, which made it easier on him. He wouldn't have to worry about 'hiding', so to speak; people can't just start talking to themselves without an explanation, they'll get shipped off to a mental hospital. That wouldn't be an ideal situation for either parties.

Kaegira crept up to Hanako's doorway, and slipped between the wall much like a ghost would. Slowly, he peered from the hall into the living room where he saw the girl spinning. Perhaps she was already on her way to the mental hospital. That would be unfortunate. Kaegira slipped back out the doorway back onto the street. Now, that he knew where she lived, he wouldn't have to worry about losing his deathnote. He went to go find himself a bite to eat.

Up the street several blocks away, there was a supermarket that lots of people were going in and out of. Humans seemed so disorderly at times, but they all conformed to the same systems. He pondered this thought for a little while as he made his way to the produce section. Everything there looked delicious. There was nothing quite like Earth-grown food. With a flick of his tail, he knocked a bright red apple out of place, so that it rolled off of the stand, right into Kaegira's mouth where it promptly disappeared from the sight of any human. There was one woman who saw this take place and merely eyed the spot for a long time, confused and baffled, but she moved on ahead after deciding that it must've been her imagination. "Delicious," Kaegira grinned and snickered, finding the woman's confusion quite funny.

"Oh, right, that girl. I should be getting back there. I've gotta make sure she doesn't cause any trouble," he began to laugh quite obnoxiously at his own joke. He really didn't care either way if she 'caused any trouble'; deathnotes weren't meant to be in the hands of humans. That could cause nothing but trouble, but Kaegira didn't care. This one joke that he'd just made had been worth it all.

Hanako groaned as she walked back into her house. Shuffling over to her desk, she let her books fall to the ground.
"Law school is a biiiiitch!" She yelled as she kicked her biggest book and regretted it as soon as the thought entered her mind. She yelped and quickly started bouncing on one foot while holding the other gently in her hands.

"I wish all of my damned teachers were dead for giving me this homework!" She yelled at the books and then suddenly stopped as a memory triggered in her mind. The Deathnote. She completely forgot about it. How the hell could she have forgotten!?

Running over to her book bag, she took out the slim notebook. She gently set it on her desk and opens the first page slowly. Taking out a pen, she twirled it as she heard the news in the background. Her attention quickly was turned to it as it was the news speaking of someone called "Kira". Apparently he was a killer or something but why would she care? She hated all killers.

Suddenly, she ran over as she thought she heard something. Apparently, the television said something about him killing criminals. She smiled as she turned it up. How fascinating. A killer who killed criminals. They only got what they deserved. Suddenly, breaking news. The reporter went to a crime scene where two innocent girls were raped and killed. Apparently, he got away... but, there were eye witnesses.

Hanako gritted her teeth as she felt something snap in her hand and she felt the ink from her newly broken pen drip down her hand. There were no words to describe how angry she was right then. To her delight though, the reporter can back on with a picture and a name of the rapist. Grinning maniacally, she ran back to the Deathnote and wrote the killer's name with the ink on her finger. She didn't care if it took up a large portion of the page. If it worked, then it would definitely be worth to have it that big to remember her first kill.

After a couple of seconds, Hanako let out a sigh. Of course it didn't work. She slowly walked to the bathroom to wash off the damn paint. By the time she walked out, there was new breaking news. The rapist Takashi Suzuki died in a car crash. Testes weren't back yet, but the thought at that moment was that the real thing that killed him was none other than a heart attack.

Hanako heard the laughter before she could recognize it as her own. Holding her stomach as it started to hurt, she tried to calm herself down but to no avail. This new power, it was amazing. She couldn't handle the joy she felt right then. Nothing could bring this down, not even law school. She let herself fall on the couch and hug a pillow as she slowly stopped her laughter.

It took Kaegira all of his restraint to finally pry himself away from the produce section. He had been there for quite longer than he intended, even after deciding that he should be getting back to the house of the girl that found the deathnote. Needless to say, the store was going to be a bit under-stocked on apples for the next day or so. He couldn't describe the taste they left in his mouth, the juices would drip down his lip and he would relish in the fact that he could never get caught, unless another shinigami informed the King of Kaegira's behavior, then he might have to answer for his 'crimes', but it wouldn't be anything too serious.

Finally, he was back on the streets, backtracking to the place where he'd last left the girl who was known to randomly spin around for no reason. After another few hours of wandering, he was staring at the estate of Hanako Takashi once more, and he still assumed that she was alone. He slipped through the walls of the house, peering into the divided rooms. No apples. Why did he ever leave that magnificent place where there were delicious apples by the piles? He sighed. Hanako was not home. Nobody was home. How was he supposed to have fun with no humans around?

He explored her house to a great extent until he came across her room and immediately made his way to her dresser and located her undergarments, going through them one by one and tossing them on the floor, laughing all the while. "The look on her face will be priceless!" He declared buoyantly.

- -

Suddenly, sounds of someone entering the home erupted from the doorway along with a cry of pain and angry yelling. Kaegira peered out from the arch of her room and waited extremely patiently for the girl to notice him. No? You're gonna ignore me? Alright. So, he continued to wait. Then, all too quickly, she had the deathnote in her hand, scribbling a name into the book. A wicked grin spread to Kaegira's face.

As she laid on the couch, Kaegira approached her from behind, his voice a hollow, but sinister presence, "You used the deathnote. You're going to purgatory, now." His booming laughter filled the room. "A rapist, eh? How noble of you, Hanako."

"You used the deathnote. You're going to purgatory, now." A voice behind her broke her happy world as her eyes widened in terror. No, not at the thought of his words, but at the thought of someone being in her house. A few feet behind her. Looming over the back of the very couch she was laying on. Suddenly, a laughter shook her world as her thoughts only grew more fearsome. "A rapist, eh? How noble of you, Hanako." She couldn't stand it anymore. The use of her name was the last straw.

Letting out a high pitched scream, she threw the pillow at the head of her assailant and fell off the couch. Quickly using her feet to scoot herself backwards as she got a clear view of the intruder and getting herself away at the same time. Her eyes couldn't register fast enough that he was not human so when she hit the wall and she heard the shattering of pictures around her, she only screamed louder as she threw whatever she could get her hands on at him.

When too afraid to stay in the same place, she quickly made a mad dash for her school bag and let her hand find the best gift her parents ever gave her. Pulling out a pistol and pointing it at the thing's head, she let it go three times and then waited for the results.

"AhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA." Kaegira's laughter could have split the seams of the room, itself. It had definitely been worth sneaking up on her like that, he thought. Nothing quite rattles his insides like a terrified human, especially one who he was going to have to explain the idea of going to neither heaven nor hell after death.

"Missed me." The pillow she tossed in his direction passed through him and landed against the wall, falling back to the floor adjacent to it with a soft plop, the feathers within forming to their new position silently. He turned around to look at the pillow only to give himself something more to laugh at, the intensity increasing furthermore.

The looming shadow-like being continued hovering behind the couch, obscuring the lower-half of his body. When he turned back around, with bright, white eyes, he watched her pull a pistol from her bag. For a split second before she fire, an enormous smile consumed his face. BANG. BANG. BANG. Three bullet holes lined the wall behind him, but he played along with her assault for the fun of it. He stopped laughing. The echo of the shots rung through the walls of the house, leaving a ringing in his ears.

He toppled over, face-first onto the couch, then over again, onto the floor. Face-down, he was on the ground wondering how she would react to him now that he seemed 'dead'. Hah. A human killing a shinigimi! It took all of his might to stifle his laughter. His body, from head to tail was about four feet long and rather skinny. The horns on his head were grey and slightly obscured by his hair that was a dark navy color. His wings were sprawled out across the floor, unmoving. His hands were actually sunk into the floor, beneath the concrete. Although, he looked like a solid being, he had a shadowy aura that constantly circled his body even as he pretended to be dead.

"AhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA." The thing laughed as she continued her assault. She tried her best to keep some level mind, but it was hard. Finally, when the three shots when off, it fell to the ground. Letting her gun droop, she decided to finally examine what the hell happened. Looking at this monster struck her with fear as she slowly got closer. Suddenly, her eye concentrated on the bullet holes in the walls.

"N-no way.... What the fuck am I dealing with..." She said, doubt outlining her words. Maybe she finally HAD gone fully crazy and this was a hallucination of her mind. Shaking her head, her knees went limp and she fell in a sitting position. There was one thing she was sure of, the thing wasn't dead. The bullets and the pillow went right through him. He was just messing with her? She tried her best to calm herself down before the THING got back up.

Suddenly concentrating on her breathing, she slowed it as best as she could. She had to be calm. Now think. What had it said? Something about purgatory... and the Deathnote! something about the deathnote, that was for sure. She crawled over on her hands and knees and poked it with her gun. Seeing it go through him, she let out a sigh. She wasn't sure if it was relief or aggravation... Truthfully, she didn't want to know.

"...I know your alive.... You're tied to the deathnote... Aren't you? Are you some evil spirit that each time I kill one person, another one comes?" She questioned, trying her best to rationalize. It would make sense. She just killed her first and not even a second after he died, this THING appeared.

He wondered what exactly gave him away. Perhaps he wasn't holding quite still enough, but upon receipt of her questions, he jumped right up and began hovering in the air once again, spreading his wings as he did so. His tail swished around in the air as he looked down on the girl who was sitting in place. "I am the Shinigami, Kaegira, God of death," he bellowed, then snickered. "You used my Death Note, so now I've come to investigate," he affirmed, showing off his wicked grin that seemed to be white-space where this mouth would go, much like his eyes. "Do you always shoot anything that comes into your home? If that's the case, you don't even need the Death Note, but it seems that you've learned how to use it with ease, but I bet you never would have guessed that death comes with a price, no?" He shook his head in disapproval, humans weren't meant to be gods. Put the power of one in their hands, and they expect the whole sky to come falling down at their feet.

For a few moments, Kaegira watched Hanako quietly, analyzing her expressions, debating if this was going to be as fun as he thought it would. He decided that the answer was yes. This was going to be particularly hilarious to oversee, and at the very end, he'd be there to take her life. How wonderful.

A death god is obligated to answer any inquiries a human asks about the conditions of the Death Note. "To answer your question, I am the only one who will come regardless of how many people you plan to kill. You don't have to worry about their spirits haunting you," he thought it would have been fun to just keep quiet about the whole thing, but since she asked, he couldn't deny her an explanation. He wondered why she hadn't asked about what would happen when she died. Perhaps humans don't care about going to purgatory like they should. Really, it was dreadful and they should be more devastated upon learning that fact. Oh, well. Strike one for Kaegira.

The thing jumped right up and began hovering in mid-air.
"I am the Shinigami, Kaegira, God of death," Kaegira said with a wicked smile. What followed was a snicker and more of his talking.
"You used my Death Note, so now I've come to investigate,"

"I see.... are you going to kill me?...." She questioned as she looked up at him. She certainly didn't know how she felt right now.

"Do you always shoot anything that comes into your home? If that's the case, you don't even need the Death Note, but it seems that you've learned how to use it with ease, but I bet you never would have guessed that death comes with a price, no?" Kaegira said as a devious smirk found it's way to Hanako's face.

"Anything that isn't invited and anything that scares me." She replied and then, something triggered in her brain.
"Wait, a price? What price?..." She questioned while looking up at him as her brows furrowed.

"To answer your question, I am the only one who will come regardless of how many people you plan to kill. You don't have to worry about their spirits haunting you," Kaegira said as she let out a sigh of relief. She didn't like the thought of spirits visiting her.

"Wait... You said something about purgatory, right? I'm sorry.... You said in the middle of my breakdown that I don't think I caught it..." She said as she rubbed her head. Those breakdowns were never good for her mental stability.

"No, I'm not going to kill you," Kaegira responded, seemingly offended by her question. "Well, not yet anyway," to this statement, he added more boisterous laughter. His ghostly hand reached for his own head, gripped a mess of dark hair, then pulled. Pop. His head was in his hands, grinning at Hanako. With his free hand, he reached into the place where his head was moments ago, then pulled out a familiar looking Death Note. "When the time comes," he said as he began returning his head to its proper place, "and you've lived your life," he took a deep breath, excited to reveal how the girl's life would end, "I'm going to write your name in my death note."

"Well, you probably believe that you've been given a great responsibility, yes? There's that price. There's also the toll it will take on your sanity as well. You wield a god's power, now, and I can't wait to see how you turn out," Kaegira said, vaguely explaining this 'price to be paid' for taking one's life. "It's reversed for me, though. When I write names as a shinigami, I gain the rest of the human's life. When you write, you just lose your mind." His wild laughter howled through the room.

"Yes, purgatory. Once I write your name in my death note, you will neither reside in heaven, nor hell, only exist between this plane and the next," he affirmed with a slight nod while holding the cover of his death note out to her so she knew they were the exact same, and his tone was finally solemn, but only to set the stage for her to react to this brutal reality. "But don't worry," he hissed, "I'll be with you every step of the way," he added as a sinister note. "As long as you have that book in your possession, I'll be here."

Once more, he grabbed the top of his head, severed it from his neck with a sharp tug, and placed the death note back in his throat. Then, he returned his head to it's place once again.

"No, I'm not going to kill you, Well, not yet anyway." Kaegira said as she watched him. Suddenly, he pulled off his head and she gave a gasp which she tried to quickly catch as she jumped. She definitely wasn't expecting that. Reaching in, Kaegira grabbed another death note and replaced his head.
"When the time comes, and you've lived your life, I'm going to write your name in my death note." Her eyes widened as he reviled this. Smiling, she nodded. It would make sense. There is always a price to pay and everyone needs to be payed back for the crimes they've done. This, was how she was gonna get payed back.

"Well, you probably believe that you've been given a great responsibility, yes? There's that price. There's also the toll it will take on your sanity as well. You wield a god's power, now, and I can't wait to see how you turn out." He said, pulling her out of her thoughts. "It's reversed for me, though. When I write names as a shinigami, I gain the rest of the human's life. When you write, you just lose your mind." He finished while his laughter filled the room.

She smiled as he continued laughing. How interesting would it be? She already knew she had lost her mind... but how much deeper of a hole could she dig herself into?

"Yes, purgatory. Once I write your name in my death note, you will neither reside in heaven, nor hell, only exist between this plane and the next," He said as he brought his death note close to hers. Staring at them both, she nodded. Truthfully, she thought heaven was already out of her reach... and hell seemed to be closing in on her... if this place was the thing that awaited her, she'd gladly accept it. There was no turning back now. She already wrote her first name so her innocence was stripped from her.

"But don't worry," Kaegira hissed as she looked up at him, being torn from her thoughts once again. "As long as you have that book in your possession, I'll be here." She quickly hugged it as if it was the thing most dear to her, which right then, it was.

"I will never leave it then." She said to her new companion. She may have just doomed herself to a hellish place in this afterlife, but to know she wasn't alone was the power to keep herself going. She gave an innocent smile to Kaegira as she got up.

"Two more questions.... Can you also make people say what you want if you specify?.... And... If so..." She said as she looked at the T.V. as it went on another re-run of the Kira killings.

"Is he like me? This Kira?" She whispered while looking at the T.V. It would make sense. Before Kira, there were a lot of heart attacks which is the default death of the Death Note.

"You are fascinatingly strange," Kaegira said as she smiled back.

"Thank you very much." She said as she went to put the death note into her bag and turned around to face him.

"I would hope that you read the rules before writing a name in the death note," Kaegira said as she smiled and nodded at his explanations.

"I did, it just said you could control their actions. Wasn't sure if that included speech..." She said with a shrug and slung her bag over her shoulder.
"Homework bores me, I'm going on a walk." She said with a smile.
"Wanna come along?"

"Want? I am impartial to how you spend your time. I will, however, accompany you. You possess a death note, and in turn, I shall possess you." Kaegira said matter-of-factly. He'd hate for this girl to get the idea that he actually cared. What a dreadful existence he'd have if he went everywhere caring... He shook the thought from his mind quickly as she stepped out the door. She seemed to wait for him to pass through the doorway before closing it and locking it, while polite, it was unnecessary. He was not bound by walls as humans were on this earth. What would people around her think if she was staring into her empty house before finally shutting the door? Yes, he'd definitely picked a crazy one. She'd need to be more careful.

"My favorite place is that market up the street. Earth-grown food is so delicious," he was sure to tell Hanako his favorite thing about the Earth early in the game, humans who bared no ill-will towards someone usually enjoyed giving them what they like. At least, that's what he believed to be true about the humans. He hardly payed too much attention to know if he was right or wrong.

Along their walk around the town, they passed by several people, but the only details he cared to take in about these creatures were there names, after all, humans were the most unappealing creatures to the Shinigami, merely they were a life source for them and that is why they bared to acknowledge their existence. Fuji Saitou, Masako Itou, Kado Nakamura, Aito Suzuki... The list went on and on, but he remembered each name carefully.

They were all short, scrawny, and pale. They were in Japan, after all, so none of their other features had really struck him out of place.

Hanako hadn't seemed to know any of these people herself as she maintained steady eye-contact with the path in front of her, actually, Kaegira wasn't entirely sure that she was paying any attention at all. "Hanako? Are we going anywhere in particular?" He asked her loudly, though no one else around would be able to hear him unless they'd touched Hanako's death note. He expected her to slightly nod or shake her head as to not seem like she was talking to herself, but he's been wrong before. He would probably die of laughter if she actually spoke out loud to him.

"Want? I am impartial to how you spend your time. I will, however, accompany you. You possess a death note, and in turn, I shall possess you." Kaegira said as she smiled back.

"Thank you very much Kaegira." She said with a smile as she went to the door and opened it for him. Waiting until he passed through before closing and locking it. She thought about taking her motorcycle again but shook off the thought. She liked to walk. She quickly turned and started to head out.

"My favorite place is that market up the street. Earth-grown food is so delicious," Kaegira said and she smiled in response as she continued walking. She never liked all these crowds but she some how got relatively used to them.

"Hanako? Are we going anywhere in particular?" Kaegira asked and she smiled and nodded as if to herself in thought. She soon came up to the market he talked about and walked in. She quickly grabbed a basket and then found the produce section and put in two carton of strawberries.

"Hmm.... I wonder if he'd want anything..." She mumbled to herself as if in deep thought but hoping that Kaegira understood it as a question. She was truthfully asking him if he wanted anything while there.

The planned route that Hideyeki was going to take after leaving the cafe only involved dropping the documents for the chief off at the station and then heading home from there. Seemed like a good plan, not too much walking, and he had no problems with this. Of course, a text from Sakura soon changed his plans, as he was out of Strawberries.

Hideyeki stared at his phone, the four letters rocking the foundation of his very world.

"We're out of strawberries."

A low growl was emitted from the man, knowing full well that that meant Sakura invited her friends over to their house and ate them, instead of hanging out and eating there. Hideyeki loved strawberries, and this was unacceptable. So, no, they couldn't wait until later. He needed to know that he could devour some whenever he wished, and after briefly doing his first task of ridding himself of the documents meant for his chief, he planned on stopping at market just a bit before his home.

As he walked in, he ignored not only the greeter waving to him, but everyone else in his path to his precious. He drew nearer, and nearer until.......

What? They were gone? There were no more, and he saw the culprit, some girl had taken the last two cartons. That....bitch! Okay, he wasn't that mad, but he was still...depressed, which is why he sorta just stood there, looking at the place where the strawberries used to be, longing for them to be there. But he knew, deep inside, that he was too late, that he would not be receiving that which he held precious. Stealing strawberries from him should be a crime! he thought, though he wasn't so corrupted as to actually kill someone over such a petty matter. No, this power would only be used on the injust! This power would be reserved only for those who deserved to be judged by such a unique power. She didn't deserve to die.

So, as weird as it might seem, the uniformed officer simply sighed and watched the empty space. Guess it was a good time to cool down from the walking.

Hanako almost walked away until she noticed a man staring at where the strawberries were. Noticing she took the last two cartons, she felt a bit bad. Tapping the man on his shoulder, she handed one carton over.

"Here. I don't need both." She said with a smile as she waited for the officer to take it.... Wait.... an officer?... She quickly felt anger almost take her over but she kept it inside and hidden. She never liked cops since they took forever to save her and didn't even catch the culprits... But... He might be okay... He does seem to like strawberries... So he must be okay... Right?

"Here. I don't need both."

Hideyeki glanced towards the source of the voice which also happened to be offering a carton of strawberries to him. His eyes lit up more than they normally did when he smiled towards her, his feeling being close to some kid seeing their parent come home after being in the military. Words honestly couldn't describe how much this small act of kindness touched him; he almost cried. Yet, in the end, he kept his warm smile pointed at her, and took the carton. Not a second later did he bow to the young woman. "Thank you, ma'am. I cannot ever repay such a kindness." he spoke.

"Thank you, ma'am. I cannot ever repay such a kindness." The officer said with a bow. She smiled back at him and nodded.

"It's no problem. It seemed to me that you really liked strawberries, so..." She gave a shrug, deciding her sentence sounded a bit dumb so she gave up on finishing it. She then held out her hand.

"My name is Hanako." She said before she started regretting it. What if this cop heard of her case? He'd think of her differently as soon as he put her name and that 10 year old girl together. She never did have a normal life after that and now she was just opening herself up to more pain by saying her name.

"It's no problem. It seemed to me that you really liked strawberries, so..."

"I would lie if I said that like was the best word to describe my affection for these fruits." he replied with a smile, then listening as she introduced herself. He hadn't heard that name much before, but he always did find it a beautiful name. Because of the way she said it, he didn't realize that she had given him her first name and because he was an American at heart, he didn't catch this.

"Such a beautiful name, you know? 'Flower Girl'. Though maybe it doesn't fit. More like, 'Lifesaver', miss." he smiled. "I am Officer Hideyeki Yoshida." he replied warmly then added, "At your service." another bow took place.

She never thought of her name that much. She knew she liked it when she was younger but it seemed like such a pointless thing to like.

"Nice to meet you Officer Yoshida." She said with a slight smile. He was nice, but she still couldn't shake her hate of police. She heard Kaegira talked about his love for apples in the background and she made a mental note to get some.

She was about to say something else when suddenly, it seemed her paranoia started to kick in. She held her basket with both hands and pinched one of them with the other while concealing it. It was no time to start freaking out. Yes, the market was full. Yes, she was scared of that many people. Would she freak out? Probably. Did she wanna freak out? No. Was she going to show this? No way in hell.

"Is something wrong?" Hideyeki picked up on the feeling of discomfort when the girl standing before him opened her mouth to say something, but never did. He could tell she wasn't feeling too right, maybe nervous or something along those lines. Did he say something wrong, or did she do something wrong, he wanders but because he isn't a mind reader, he couldn't really figure this out.

He glanced down at his watch and noticed he was behind on schedule. He'd have to eventually start dinner for Sakura and she could be... unpleasant when she's hungry. He had learned that firsthand, and confronting a grumpy teenage girl was not on his list of things to do today. So, once more he smiled and spoke lightly. "Thank you very much, Hanako-san. I cannot express my gratitude." he said graciously. "Good bye."

With those words, he turned off to leave for his home. After paying for the strawberries, of course.

Hanako woke up startled and got slightly tangled in her sleep. After a couple of seconds of confusion, she calmed down. Last night's trip to the super market got her a bit out of sorts. She never liked being out alone in a crowd of people. Yes, she had Kaegira, but she wasn't allowed to talk to him so it didn't really help.

Getting out of her bed, she readjusted her night gown and walked to the fridge. She opened it up and grabbed out some strawberries, cream cheese, margarine, flour, eggs, and some apples.

"Kaegira! Want some apples?" She questioned, wondering if he was awake or not. She let them lay on the table as she made her favorite breakfast. vanilla crepes, cream cheese inside, and sugary strawberries to top it all off? This was the only heaven she needed. She started to mix and fry as she waited for Kaegira to respond.

((OOC: Favorite breakfast in the world ^^ right there....))

"Peter." Hideyeki nodded as he took a seat in the same chair he had the day prior. The lack of honorific was only because he knew that 'Peter' was not from Japan, and it probably wouldn't mean anything to him if it wasn't included. If anything, it'd just be a waste of breath. Getting as much done in as little time as possible was a good thing in Hideyeki's book, and so he found himself pulling out the contract that he had picked up on the way and set it on the table for Peter to pick up and go through.

He then looked at Peter and spoke. "Seems we agree with the partnership." he began. "And it sounds like we'll be getting used to these meetings as well." he added without showing his distaste for the arrangements in his voice. Kira had to have some time to himself, after all. Police work and meetings with someone trying to catch you do sound like they'd get tiresome. But, he couldn't complain about the fact that he was able to moniter everything. Of course, if he made it obvious that Kira knew stuff he shouldn't, then that would be the same as announcing that Kira worked in the police station, and Hideyeki was not comfortable with that scenario, not one bit. He'd play it safe for now.
