Description

Name: Argyle
Age: 22-27
serial number: 13
Total XP: 0, next to level one ?
HP:5/5
Dice: 1D25
Eniknight: MANTICORE
HP:25/25
Dice:1D25
Physical description
Argyle is 6'3", pale skinned, slim, gothic dressed, clean shaven, male with jet black hair and wears war paint to dehumanize his features.
Image
Personality
Argyle is a boisterous and very vocal. His humor is black and he has an unhealthy fascination with death. He seeks conflict mostly to keep himself entertained. He resorts to violence at the slightest whim and often resorts to morbid humor and sarcasm to communicate. He loves head games and intimidation is his favorite tactic(His methods could be compared to that of one "Vlad the Impaler")
Equipment & Abilities
Image
Argyle uses a new prototype Eriknight titled MANTICORE designed for maximum mobility and defense to allow for better movement and more brutal combat. Made for close quarters combat and stealth the Manticore is built like a tank with heavier armor and a lower profile. The Manticore prototype is also equipped with a specialized low altitude jet pack made for quickly dashing in and out of cover. As for weapons The Manticore carries on it various bladed weapons including Eriknight sized trench knife, tomahawk, and spiked mace as well as firearms and explosives including a medium powered pistol, submachine gun, shotgun, and grenade launcher. Though these weapons are more primitive they were chosen by Argyle himself who went on record as to say that their simplicity allowed for a more varied and creative fighting style. Argyle himself also uses various guns, blades, and explosives(Blades being his weapon of choice). He is a master at intimidation and scare tactics and will often display the mangled corpses of his enemies to their comrades to rile them up. He can make and assemble his own firearms and explosives from scratch as well as create crude weapons out of nearly anything.
Historical Background
Little is known of Argyle before he became a military horror story but what is known is that he is in his mid twentys and has been under contracted service of Stratian Republic for roughly half a decade. A lot of speculation around him suggests that he has never received formal military training and has no previous record beyond six years ago. Many say he's simply a contracted mercenary but others say he was a serial killer that went into hiding nine years ago. Either way the only thing that can be said for certain is that he's been killing for at least a decade for the sport of it.

So begins...

Meanwhile in an isolated court somewhere within the Stratian Republic a pale dark haired man sits restrained to a chair surrounded by seven censored holographic silhouettes. The man is smiling with his hair in his face and appears to be chuckling as the audio to one of the holograms chimes in it is the voice of an elderly woman distorted through a filter as if to leave her voice unrecognizable "We finally caught you. How does it feel to lose Argyle?". The man sat up straight as a board revealing his painted smiling face he was laughing "HahAHahaHaHahAhahaHa!! Your cute when your angry!". There was a loud buzzing followed by hard zapping noise. Argyle thrashed in his chair as the charge passed through him "GrBlahJigdaFleBraQueLzA!!!". Argyle laughed as smoke poured from his mouth coughing between breaths as the next voice chimed in "Perhaps that will teach you some manners". Argyle craned his neck toward the newly speaking voice "Just get on with it! I'm losing my patience!". The second voice appeared to be that of a younger male "You have been charged with 16 counts of murder in the first degree, 9 counts of murder in the second degree, 5 counts of murder in the third degree, 12 counts of manslaughter in the first degree, and 37 counts of involuntary manslaughter". Argyle burst out laughing as the list was being read but was cut off by another electrocution followed by a third voice this one by an elder mail "We Don't currently have a punishment severe enough for a criminal of your caliber but we do have a use for you". Argyle laughed again despite being electrocuted the previous two times before his chair turned around elevating to reveal a room containing a black armor. The first voice chimed in to explain "This is a new prototype for close quarters, ground, and low altitude combat. code named Manticore. You see Argyle nobody at our disposal is crazy enough to test this thing in live combat. Many of our best have gone on record as saying that operating such a monstrosity would be suicide. We need you to prove them wrong". Argyle was giggling like a schoolgirl at the sight of this beast "So let me get this straight. My punishment for killing all those people you lot are sooo fond of is to go out and kill more people? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. I love it!". As he was saying this a robotic arm was latching a steel choker to Argyle's neck followed by the second voice chiming in "That will keep you in line while this experiment takes place. Any incident you cause that we don't particularly like the result of and that collar will saw your head off. Slowly & painfully. Is that clear?". Argyle scowled at the blackened hologram with distaste "Crystal".

In the depths of some laboratory centered in a circle of labcoats a hideous devious smile spread out on a paint whitened and blood spattered face. Argyle was strapped to a stretcher as he was being examined and altered for compatibility with the machine he had been assigned to.

"We sedated him an hour ago. How can he still be smiling?"
"Just ignore it and do your job!" "But he's creeping me out"
"Why's he strapped down like that?"
"Ask the last nurse that. This guy. This...Thing is dangerous so I would advise you keep at a distance"
"How does anyone become something like this?"
"I don't know and I hope I never find out"

Two lab coats walked into the room wheeling with them on what looked to be a mental patient strapped to a gurney complete with straightjacket, leather restraints, and Hannibal Lector mask. They handed the unit leader a clipboard with a paper on it holding out a pen "Your unit has been specially chosen to accommodate the Stratian Repuplic's new experimental weapon. Sign here...".

The man thrashed against his restraints as one of the labcoats was still attempting to get Horatio's attention "I would advise you seriously consider this offer. We guaranty you've never seen a weapon or fighter quite like this.../Thing/ ". The man's voice shook on the last word as the man on the gurney started laughing hysterically through his mask to the discomfort of the labcoats. The man's crazy eyes were examining everyone in the room shifting violently and holding gaze on one person to another for far too long.

Garlon watched through his peripheral vision as the soldier classified as Grim dropped his identifier in front of him before dismissing himself from the room. If he wasn't under so much damn pressure at the moment, he would have been much more amiable to the new recruit, as he seemed to be just the kind of soldier that the Ghost Platoon needed: one that knew when to shut up, and complete the mission as required. However, the manner in which the soldier approached him, coupled with the fact that Horatio could be on death row in a few minutes certainly did not help his mood, instead dismissing the soldier as just another cog.

The psychopath was ushered out of the room, and good riddance to him right now. The last thing Horatio needed was a crazy lunatic spouting profanities and jargon while he was trying to analyze and concentrate. Also, Garlon had to wonder where in the hell these labcoats were coming to this notion that they needed a soldier as uncontrollable as he: if he couldn't follow orders, and was prone to violence, how in hell were they supposed to complete any form of stealth mission? How were they supposed to complete ANY mission that didn't require enormous amounts of bloodshed? Azmeen gave some encouraging words, and while Horatio did appreciate it he certainly didn't show. Needless to say, the project came up and there was the crazy man once again, with his two scientist buddies watching over him. That could only mean one thing.

The door almost opened on cue, and the man of silver hair stepped out after two guards came out. Horatio was in the middle of standing to attention for his commanding officer when Minos dropped the bomb: Stand at attention for our Commander in Chief, The Honorable President Demetri Rodnem! While his expression never changed, Garlon felt that his internal clock had simply exploded. He could feel his face blanch slightly, even if it wasn't visible: the President of the Stratians was going to pass judgement on his actions. Rarely had the President ever dealt with Garlon directly - if he recalled correctly, he had only met the man once, and that was during a speech he made during their first few attacks on the ground. Now, Garlon could hear his heart rising up his throat, beating intensely. Whatever would come of him today, Jorge just hopped that he would be able to stick by his decision, even if it cost him his life.

Yet again the door to the meeting room sprung open and the same soldier that escorted the men into the room came in and walked to one of the labcoats. She whispered into one of their ears that they were needing to relocate their experimental personnel from the current room they are in to a neighboring conference room where the labcoats and Argyle would be communicating by a live camera feed broadcasted between the two rooms. The soldier respectfully shown them to their heavily guarded conference room where a heavily armed soldier stood post at every corner of the room with rifles in hand, assigned specifically for Argyle's submission.

Once the feed was started Argyle's mask was removed and as a 'thank you' Argyle spat in a labcoat's face for which his collar gave him an audible zap "Yeeallleeiiiaaaaiiiyyyeaavfgdbfzfbdz!!!". Argyle coughed up some more smoke laughing "Hahahahahaha! Wooo! Beats the shit out of coffee ay boys?!". ~Zap~ "Akagakaggakkakaka!!!...Party pooper..." "Shut up and listen freak!".

Stand at attention for our Commander in Chief, The Honorable President Demetri Rodnem!

"You see I would love to but ~zap~ Eradgfgsnxnfdnh!"

=General Minos stood facing the long window overlooking Artomidia, arms folded casually behind his back as he listened to what the Major said. He let a moment slip by before speaking, wanting to put emphasis on the Major's remarks= Ah yes the robotic soldiers.
=The General turned back towards the others and leaned down to pick up a remote and pointed it at the large monitor broadcasting the two way conversation between those in the current room and Argyle. The streaming footage of Argyle goes split screen, the space on the screen being dominated by footage recorded by Major Garlon's brigade during their encounter with the eniknights. In the footage everyone can see from the Stratian perspective the eniknights sustaining the attacks of the Hell Minions then almost effortlessly tearing the two limb from limb. More footage can be seen of the eniknights zipping directly over their formation to engage the distant Hell Minion.=

You could say you owe your camera man your life. It's the main reason you are here as you are and not in cuffs. Had this footage never reached me you would be on your way to a military tribunal right now where they would handle your desertion from combat a little different than we will today. For what I am about to show you, keep in mind nearly the entire squadron was wiped out by one of these.

=General Minos clicks a button on the remote and the footage is replaced by the cockpit view of Amelia Flay's ace arrow piercer, doing combat maneuvers and positioning to engage Laymin's eniknight. Much to the people monitoring the footage, they see Shyv's eniknight quickly jam its foot into Flay's cockpit where the footage then cuts to static.=

It appears you weren't the only person here who had bad luck with these things Major Garlon, this footage actually was recorded by one of our top aces, Soldier Flay whom with her wingman soldier Soren are expected to arrive here any time now =The General said looking at a pocket watch then turning to the president= due to what you have just seen, Soldier Flay is on her way from receiving medical attention Mr. President

=President Rodnem waves it off as it doesn't bother him that she will be a little late= Understood General.

=General Minos looks up at Major Garlon and Seriph and speaks once more= To summarize things Major, though you did disobey a direct command closer examination of the situation has determined that you can not be faulted for the loss of Sulta and that you were basically the wrong C.O., at the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong enemy. However you did disobey a direct order and we cannot have our officers becoming defiant to their superiors, there for you are going to be bumped down to Captain, and your brigade will fall under my jurisdiction until either you have proven to me capable of commanding this brigade again or I find someone else more suitable for the position. That said your unit's first role under my command will have something to do with what President Rodnem has to say, I would look at it as a privilege Captain Garlon.

=General Minos turns to the President= That is all I have Mr. President

Argyle smiled wildly at the footage taking in and savoring every little piece. He mumbled to himself as if to avoid another zap "Hehehe I love snuff films". The two labcoats next to him became as uncomfortable as any to be in his presence for too long. They anxiously waited for their turn to speak on behalf of Argyle on the significance of his being there so as to hand him over to someone else by the end of the day. Argyle's smile persisted throughout the proceedings.

The sound of the double doors opening behind Garlon and the other two soldiers drew a number of turned heads, expecting the arrival of the rambunctious pilot and her squadmate. What they instead received was half the duo in the accompaniment of another ‘legend’. Trent Soren slowly followed in behind his commanding officer and gave his salute in time with her own, nervously looking around the group and trying his best to get his bearings.

Sarah Lorian, CO of the Tactical Piercer Squadron; and Soldier First Class Trent Soren, It’s an honour, President.” The black haired tactician’s sharp eyes were unfaltering, meeting eyes with each person in the room and conveying an edge of unrelenting focus. There was only the briefest of eye flickers about the room, analysing each individual, but not a shred of her emotions were seen in her appraisal. The same could not be said of Trent, who rather nervously broke eye contact with each person before ending up looking at the floor. He was a confident fellow normally, but the rank and general intimidation power of everyone in the room far outweighed the lowly soldier, who gave a sigh that was slightly more audible then he intended. He was just really grateful Sarah had insisted on coming along with him to this meeting – He wasn’t sure how well he would have gone by himself.

“Senior Soldier Flay is currently undergoing treatment for her internal injuries. It was my judgement she was unfit to respond to the summons, and as such, I will be representing my unit in her stead.” Sarah elaborated, having moved to take a seat at the table without a word from anyone. With all the seats taken, Trent somewhat nervously filed in to stand behind them. Shutting her eyes a moment and taking a deep breath, Sarah lifted a set of files from where she’d set them down in front of her, sliding them across the table to the President and General Minos, before sliding a final copy over to Garlon and Seriph for examination.

“Though my analysis is only a rough and preliminary estimate, even if taken on a conservative level, the performance of those ‘unique’ units are terrifying. Their manoeuvrability, acceleration, speed, firepower and defences are well beyond anything I’ve ever seen.” Sarah was pensive, not even consulting her own copy of the file in front of her. For the short time the footage and information had been available, she’d already compiled a number of terse estimates around the capabilities based on the movement within the footage, along with the specifics and parameters of the units they’d been seen engaging with. The figures were astounding, and if it had come from anyone else, there’d be reason to doubt the analysis.

For those who weren’t aware, Sarah Lorian was a former pilot and veteran tactician, decorated with numerous accolades. A gifted and well respected individual within the Stratian Military, her brilliant and inquisitive mind could be considered unrivalled amongst her colleagues. With her fundamental understanding of physics and technology, it’s a bit of a wonder she ended up as a soldier in the military rather than a scientist or something of the like. Still, her efficiency is not to be questioned, with countless victories under her command, and a minimal casualty rate, her nickname of 'The Valkyrie' is well earned. Perhaps her only downfall, at least in the eyes of the Stratian military, is her low sights – refusing all opportunities for promotion and continuing to work in support and logistics; her position as CO of the TPS and Agent of the Intelligence Division where she’s remained the past few years.

“That said, and given the collection of personnel present; am I wrong in assuming that this meeting is indicative of a counter response team to this unprecedented threat?” Not batting an eyelid, Sarah’s manner of speaking could be seen as offensive in the presence of the President. It didn’t seem to bother her. Either way, it was more courteous then Amelia Flay would have been.

Major Garlon made no movement during the silence, and when the General broke it with his own words he relaxed some as the man walked over to the TV where the psychotic man was viewed from. Cutting the screen visually, the footage that he had recorded came up as he was forced to rewatch the footage he personally hadn't filmed - apparently Flay had been the one to catch the footage. The remark that the General made about how he owed his life to his camera man would have normally been received with a grumble by Garlon - as Garlon had filmed his own experiences as well, but apparently they weren't good enough - but this time he made no sound. Too much was at stake to aggravate his superior.

As the General made his summary statement, Garlon grew more conflicted as the verdict was given. While he knew he should be gracious for not being executed, or exiled from the army, that certainly didn't mean that he was overly happy with being demoted. He had worked his ass off for each and every promotion, each one being significantly harder than the rest; especially to a man that, not that long ago, had dreams of being a simple farmer for the rest of his life. However, General Minos had finished, and Captain Garlon spoke in recognition of the change. Thank you, General. He tried to make his tone as sincere as possible, but he could not stop the twinge of aggravation seeping through. There was nothing he could do about it: he was no longer a Major, not until he could 'prove' that he was worthy of the title again. Sure, he understood that they wanted to make sure insubordination was not praised but scrutinized, but the fact that he would have to work his way back up the ladder did not help his mood; nor did that last statement about the President.

He had just finished and sat down when the gates opened behind him. He instantly recognized the voice before he even turned as Sarah Lorain, CO of the air force that Flay and Soren were both a part of. Sarah Lorain had been a rising star when Horatio first joined the army as a scout, and became the CO right around the time that Jorge was promoted to Major - he had always looked up to her tactician abilities, even if they were really more suited for the air force. This prompted Horatio to become the best military tactician he could be; yet here he was, getting demoted while an idol of his walked in.

Nevertheless, Lorain slid Garlon a file to which he began to flip through with his real arm. She began to rattle off things that Horatio had already either guessed, assumed or deduced himself: then again, he had witnessed them first hand, watching them fly through the air and rip things to pieces. Both Minos and Lorain were going by footage, which Horatio always felt cheapened the actual gravity of the situation. Lorain continued to speak of the estimates and such before getting to a part that Horatio did not expect: something about an ulterior motive. Granted, Minos had mentioned something about it beforehand, which had previously made Garlon nervous until Lorain came in and made him slightly forget. With his mind back on track, Garlon turned in his seat towards the President and raised an eyebrow. Why would President Rodnem need his - er, no longer his - unit? He quickly began to sift through any communications that he found odd or out of place, with none really popping up.

Sir? He didn't know what else to say to his President besides addressing him: what else could be said, if nothing seemed to make sense? Did they find something down there, or were they being reassigned? Either way, Garlon's guard was up. It didn't matter if he had been demoted, or if he no longer had control of his unit for the time being; he would protect his unit.

Image I see you have really climbed up the chain of command the last I seen you Mr. Seriph..

=Holding in his emotions at the sight at her he speaks up since she has openly addressed him=

Image Care to fill me in a little on why you are here and not with that treasonous dog that got you out of Arkacello, Artomidian?

Image Ah yes, I think that would be wise since it will help me explain exactly why we are all here. =Agent Dae looks to the others=
Image You are all perhaps wondering why he referred to me as an Artomidian and why he claims I have associated myself with treasonous dogs. In brief we ran into one another during the aftermath of Arkacello. At least that's what he thinks.

Image I remember your face quite well. =commented Seriph=

Image Not mine, You remember Nia Tavian's face Mr. Seriph, eldest daughter to a highly influential Artomidian senator whom of which I am currently borrowing. Allow me to elaborate, while Mr. Seriph is correct that I associate myself with treasonous dogs, I am not the person he thinks I am, nor have we ever actually met. I am what you call an identity thief master, while the invasion of Arkacello was going on I was currently sifting through the corpses and scanning the survivors of a believable host identity to acquire so that and I could infiltrate Holygrounds unnoticed, as I was doing so I heard shouting in a church. There I seen Mr. Seriph, a sniper, and the now infamous former soldier Leer exchanging words and then shots over the lives of two kids and a young woman identified as a Ms. Nia Tavian. The woman, kids, and Leer managed to escape. I took on the disguise of an Artomidian soldier and followed the small convoy which made a brief stop to Portston.
Image

There I was able to isolate my host from the others, terminate her, and take on her identity, upon studying her belongings I have seen I have hit a lottery by discovering she was the eldest daughter of a highly influential Artomidain Senator that perished during the invasion, I used this to my advantage.
By assuming the identity of a senators daughter I was able to successfully infiltrate the security at Holygrounds where I was finally able to then assume a handful of other identities and commence my operations in one the A.N.G.'s highest secret weapons compounds as well as utilize my strengths as this rather useful role to manipulate certain strings in the ANG government by pleading final wishes of a perished father, not to mention set the recent defector soldier Leer as a scapegoat for events that will later transpire.

=Azmeen sneers under his breath to know that Leer is still alive and by the sounds of things doing fairly better than what he had hoped, still though the details of Suna Dae's true identity and the fact that her espionage is designed to work against the traitor and the A.N.G. as a whole brings his blood down from boiling to luke warm=

=General Minos then speaks up to move the agents back story to the main details=
ImageWhile this is all very impressive Agent Dae, what is your motive for the infiltration the A.N.G.s weapons compound, I could only assume it has to do with the mecha we witnessed at Sulta?

Image Indeed General, though they are not mecha, but armors. =Agent Dae opens her brief case and pulls out and gently sets down Vai's enicrystal on the table in front of General Minos who then hands it carefully to Comander Lorian=
Image
Take care not to damage or lose this, its a loaner from the reverse engineering team. What you are seeing here is something truly revolutionary, even to Stratian tech standards, and coming from the conservatively theistic Artomidian National Government, it is quite a bold and profound feat in Artomidian technology. Because of this, their weapons development branch stuck out like a sore thumb for our espionage department, and so we he monitoring them for quite some time now. That branch, the ones that have created this crystal that is going around, has recently acquired a new alias called A.N.G.E.L. which you all should familiarize yourselves with diligently since they are the ones that upturned your last battle. A.N.G.E.L. being an acronym for Artomidian National Government's Eniknight Legion

=Agent Dae allowed for the others to make their observations and get a word in before she continues=

Trent awkwardly shuffled aside at the arrival of Ms. Dae, allowing her the opportunity to speak across the table. A lot of things were going over his head, and he inwardly grimaced at how callously the Identity thief referred to her ‘host’ persona. The idea that she’d murdered a civilian without remorse, and then utilised her face to-… It just didn’t sit right with him. Still, war wasn’t pretty, and no doubt such dark actions occurred on both sides. Personally, he would’ve preferred being ignorant to such things. That probably explained why he’d always be a soldier rather than anything more.

Sarah’s expression did little to show her feelings on the matter, examining Suna with marked interest and scrutiny as she listened to the exchange. Though she didn’t approve of the methods, she couldn’t deny the results; and would simply have to accept the reality that these were the times they lived in. Still, as a tactician she’d probably never be all too friendly towards Suna. Fair and honourable combat were her forte – Sabotage and espionage were the side of the battle she wanted no real part in.

Wordlessly, she took the crystal from General Minos, examining it carefully, but unable to derive much without the proper equipment. This simple little thing was responsible for creating those combat suits? The prospect seemed ludicrous, but here it was in her hands. Carefully, she handed the piece back to Suna, before speaking. “So the combat suits in the last battle, they’re known as Eniknights then?” She looked to Suna for the simple clarification, before turning to address the President and General. “If at all possible, I’d like to lend my expertise to the engineering department. I have a marked interest in this project.” Still stern in her expression, her curiosity in these devices were peaked. If this was to be the future of combat, she’d need every bit of understanding to better fulfill her role.

Argyle slammed his face against the screen of the two way feed at the site of the object "Hold the phone! I recognize that little bobble!! Don't bullshit me! You bastards know perfectly well what that is! You lot shoved one in my smaaall intestiiiines!! ~Zaaap~ ArrRRdgggGGGhhhHHrRRRedVdfbggBnhnhgleeeek!!!". "Who told you to speak freak!?" One of the labcoats barked at Argyle holding the remote to his collar down on high causing Argyle to convulse and foam at the mouth still smiling all the while as the second labcoat wrestled the remote from the first releasing the switch. after some bickering between the two the first had to leave the room. After catching his breath from the electricution Argyle put his forehead to the screen again "So sorry about that. It's just the effect I have on people hehehehehe!". The second labcoat pushed his glasses up his nose "On that matter I would like to move this on to the reason he's here so I can move him into your care".

Horatio remained silent for longer than he had expected, mostly due to the fact that no matter what thought popped into his head, it was destroyed by either the new evidence or the fact that there was simply nothing to say. Out of the entire room, he was easily the least educated in any other field that wasn't military tactics: after all, he had been a simpleton before, a farmer that had never thought his business would become in any way violent. The words that would be thrown around, or the knowledge instantly assumed by the folks easily went over his head, and for most of the time he gave the entire room a blank stare. But enough of the generalities; back to the plot.

Jorge watched as a lady entered the room, a blank yet confused look in his eyes. He had no recollection of her face, nor anything about her that stood out - yet Seriph reacted as if his former Lt had come back from the grave to give him another disciplinary action. She introduced herself as an Agent named Dae, and again Garlon knew nothing of her, and very little of her program she gave afterwards, the S.I.A - which Garlon assumed to be the Stratian Intelligence Agency. She then addressed Seriph directly, to which he retaliated with very harsh accusations. Yet the agent seemed unfazed by the terms, and briefly explained Seriph's outburst; she was a face stealer, one that had stolen the face of an important Artomidian girl.

The rest of her words blurred for a while as Garlon became hesitant of the agent; while he knew the value of such types of people, the idea of face stealers left him slightly squeamish. To Garlon, a man's identity was his own, and nobody elses - yet here was a lady that had deliberately stolen a girls face, murdered her, and posed as her to extract information. The whole idea left him uneasy, that somebody would go to such lengths to extract information. Nothing about her settled with Garlon, even as Minos finally interrupted to get the agent back onto task with her debrief. Her revelation, however, was not exactly what he had hoped for; to start, she gave a piece of information that Garlon had already hinted at knowing, as Flay had mentioned that the robots had people within them. What shocked Garlon was the crystal in which the armor came within. It was beautiful, yet Garlon dare not touch it in the slightest; while not a superstitious man, he did not trust himself with something so foreign and unknown.

Ignoring a lot of the espionage details in which she continued to go into - again, face stealing still unsettled him - Horatio's focus slowly shifted from the crystal to his own robotic hand, watching it clench. Had technology progressed so far now that little fragile crystals held the power to destroy nations? Before, it had always seemed unthinkable; even his own arm had been risky when they rewired his nerves. They had no idea if the nerve endings would sync correctly with the wires and electricity, and no amount of calculations would have been able to tell them that. Nevertheless, here he was with two working arms, in the presence of a childhood hero and a foreign destroyer. There was only one thought that came to mind, yet he still refused to look up towards the rest even as everybody continued talking and conversing about other ideas. Eventually, that thought was formed into words.

How can we combat that which is highly concealable, easily applied, and horribly destructive?

His tone was soft; instead of being an actual question, Garlon was really speaking his mind without realizing it.

Horatio was impressed by the man's analysis of the robotic soldiers; granted, if he wasn't in his current predicament that had altered his state of mind for the day, he may have been able to more clearly see the robotic suits. The Agent then continued with her debrief, explaining that it had been Splietzer that had been the one to get the A.N.G.E.L program up and running, the name instantly ringing a bell for Horatio: Splietzer had been that scientist who made the phenominal breakthroughs in robotics, which lead to the development of his arm. He looked down at his cybernetic arm and tensed it slightly in concern. So the Artomidians had a Stratian tech prodigy on their side - that seriously placed a few thorns into the Stratian offense, and this was even before a battle was fought again. How much would Splietzer's son know about the Stratian military?

Horatio refocused himself back into the conversation, only missing a few words of the debrief and easily piecing together that which he had missed: Leer with the Artomidians, Agent Dae finding out that the DNA coding was tightly interwoven with the suit resulting in blood discoloration and transformation. She finally got to the verdict of her debrief, stating that they were recreating the suits into three categories, and that was when Horatio perked up considerably; a tactical advantage, that was something he wanted to hear. The first suit on screen was apparently for the military, and wasn't the greatest in any way shape or form. Apparently it was simply for the common grunt, so that the Stratians could get the jump on the infantry.

The next two were where the intrigue began: The Militon variant would be almost on par with the 'eniknights', an exoskeleton to combat theirs. It seemed to be best for tanking damage, which was always a plus - yet something about it didn't sit right with Garlon. It was then that the Iscariot model was shown and explained that Horatio studied intently: it was to be stronger than the eniknights of the Artomidians, yet also more volatile. Dae also explained why Argyle - that insane man on the TV - and Petra were here, as they were to be the test subjects for each of the models. With that, Dae finished her debrief, and left the room in silence.

Rodnem then piped up to speak of the greater incentive given to the I-Varient pilots, and then turned to Garlon. He resisted the urge to salute the man again as Minos turned to him and gave him his orders: he and his Ghost platoon were to be reassigned to be pilots for these exoskeletons. His eyes widened as Minos continued, stating that he would get to choose which armor set he personally would wish to utilize, along with Seriph and two others that he could personally pick. Horatio descended into silence as Rodnem took the lead once again and spoke to Lorain - however, he heard neither of them as he decided. He didn't even look as Seriph to question him on what his decision would be. The choice was his and his alone: would he play it safe and go with the military unit? No, it wasn't even worth suggesting: Garlon had a feeling that his cybernetic arm could probably take one of those things out. The next safest was the Militon Varient: a tanking unit that was on par with the eniknights. But did he even want to play it safe? Garlon mulled over the Iscariot some more, the option enticing yet somewhat nerve-wracking. How dangerous could those things be to their user?

After a bit of silence, Garlon stood to adress his superior. General Minos, sir, I've come to decision. A pause, Garlon gave a sideways glance at Seriph before speaking. If Seriph is in agreement, I would like to give the right to Technical Sergeant Vincent Cairo and Soldier Aster Rei Elionsvie. The pause returned before he gave his final statement. For my personal decision, I would like to be a candidate for the Iscariot Varient armors, sir. Horatio stared straight ahead as he spoke, and left another pause afterwards.
