A New Breed?

In 1990, Jynthic Synthetic laboratories decided to begin their first trials of a new genetic modification program on human subjects. The first batch of subjects was irreparably damaged. The second batch, however, proved promising- a small group of children ranging in ages from newborn to 12 years old. The genetic modification process was arduous but the children did, indeed, exhibit evolutionary enhancements that could not be replicated exactly but the end result was the same.

The children had all been modified in some way, in a study to see if supernormal powers could be induced.

We've all seen the movies and read the comics. The idea behind super powers ranges greatly. Bitten by a radioactive spider? Genetic mutation? Personal trauma or tragedy? It allowed the idea that outside forces could induce human evolution so the scientists decided to try this in a sterile setting. Some of the children proved to take more easily to the enhancements and thus, became more powerful or had a more versatile ability. One child had the ability to manipulate objects with his mind; another had the ability to project images upon a flat surface, much like a movie screen.

In the year 2000, the government somehow found out about this laboratory and closed the facility, citing ethics and the children were either given a stipend and allowed to leave freely or moved to the closest state orphanage, depending on their age.

Fast forward to the year 2011. The government has once again found a research facility that has somehow found the records from the dispersed Jynthic Synthetic trials and is recreating their experiment at an alarm speed, with no regards for ethics. The subjects are kidnapped and experimented on, sometimes modifying more genes than the relatively few isolated genes that had been okayed by the first lab.

This new lab, Novato Inc., has been cranking out a veritable army within its compound and selling the people out like slaves to the highest bidder. The government tried to storm the facility but was pushed back by the modified humans and after months of trying to handle the situation themselves, the government finally decided to seek out the humans from the first trial, from Jynthic Synthetic, to see if they would aid them in their fight.

Q: What type of superpowers can we have?
A: Try to keep it reasonable and not be overpowered. We present to you an informative website for your perusal! If you have any questions, feel free to PM either Zukuto or I. We only ask that you please try to vary superpowers in regards to other characters.

Q: How many superpowers can we have?
A: We ask that you stick to two, maximum. One major and one minor. Examples of major powers would be telepathy, any of the 'kinetics' (atmo, umbra, etc). Minor would be things that don't really have an every day defensive or offensive use. Like omnilinguism- knowing every language.

Q: What types of characters will you allow?
A: Right now we are accepting test subjects from the first facility, Jynthic, and government agents. If you wish to submit a character from the second facility, Novato, please PM me for more details since you will technically be on the 'bad' side. ;) We need to fill you in on some details.

Q: Is there a maximum number of characters we can have?
A: Please only submit a maximum of 2 (two) characters!

Q: Are we underwear on the inside or on the outside heroes?
A: Please, for my sanity as well as yours please keep your underwear firmly located in/under/behind clothing. We are going for more of a X-men theme than a Kick Ass theme.
