The 24-year-old navigator of The Dark Void. Ada has a quick wit and a sharp tongue.
Ada is generally kept to herself, though when she does speak, it is with—by all means—the mouth of a pirate. She’s highly personal and comes off very easily as though she thinks she is better than everyone else aboard the ship, which she does. Nothing offends her or even comes close to doing so; she’s a female pirate for heaven’s sake, she’s had to learn to be tougher than most of the men on the ship. The way she addresses others is very sharp, and she could easily outsmart most anyone else sailing the seven seas and has gotten herself out of many a difficult situation. She knows how to handle herself.
Ada carries a flintlock pistol and a saber in the leather belt at her waist, as well as a leather satchel that holds and protects the map.
Born to a beautiful prostitute who lived in a brothel in a tiny seaport town, Ada’s father was a pirate. She had pirate blood from the moment she was conceived. Her childhood from the point at which she could care for herself and on was spent in the harbor, playing pirates with other ragamuffins and stealing fish and bread from the market square. When she became a teenager, men stared at her in awe. They would reach out their greasy hands to touch her fine blonde hair. There came a time when a woman who ran a brothel “rescued” Ada off the street. She took her in and promised her riches. All she had to do was be whatever a man wanted her to be for half an hour. Ada fell for it. She stayed in the brothel for a year and a half, as long as it took for her to realize that it was all a sham. She would never get any of the money those stupid, hungry, dirty men paid for her. She didn’t want to be owned anymore. In the dead of night she ran away, it was too dangerous to stay in that seaport town; they would drag her back to the brothel if they found her. She was only 15. Ada ran to the harbor and climbed aboard a commerce ship. Within the next year months she had found herself a pirate. Free.
