Hunter and Poison Master.
Song is at heart an introverted and caring person, often happier around plants than people. However, because she got involved in a cutthroat world at an early age, she also became distant, calculated and not afraid to speak her mind. This is more like a defence mechanism, but nonetheless became part of her personality. Deep down she wants to make up for the things she has done, which is the main reason she joined ASCO.
Song always carries around the following three things, aside from the usual Hunter stuff:
A Chinese Mahogany Box:
The box contains a variety of plants, herbal medicines, poisons, antidotes and tools to apply it. The medicines aren't life saving, even Song would recommend a proper doctor, but they can help with minor ailments and to ease the pain. The poisons vary from simply annoying to lethal, each useful in a different situation. Song always restocks between (and sometimes on) missions.

Jewelry with hidden compartments:
In case she gets separated from her box, or has to act quickly, she can use the poison inside her jewelry to get out of a sticky moment. It's never the same jewelry, as she likes to change her style once in a while.
A Walther PPK/S:
This small gun is easy for Song to carry around and to hide on her body. Though it's not the most destructive weapon, a well aimed shot between the eyes can be most effective.
Song was born in Central China and the daughter of a skilled herbalist. She never knew who her father was, apart from the fact that he was not Chinese. Growing up in a quiet and traditional village, she learned the many uses of all kinds of plants from her mother, who was very happy that her daughter had such a natural talent.
Song was 15 when her mother died and she was taken in by an uncle who lived in Shanghai. There, she helped out in a herb shop of an old lady. The woman not only taught Song how plants could heal people, but also how they could hurt them. In the same time, Song became romantically involved with a man called Liu. Liu, however, was a member of a criminal organisation, and he quickly learned the value of Song’s poisons. Before she knew it, she got involved in all kinds of illegal activity.
When Song was 18 years old, Liu took her with him to the American branch of the organisation. There she learned both English as well as the properties of many plants she had previously never heard off. She quickly became a valuable member of the organisation, gaining skills in undercover operations and firearms. With her lethal combination of beauty, poisons and guns, she became known as “Nightshade”.
All of this changed three years ago, when Liu wanted to use one of her poisons to kill a child. Though she had killed herself, she had never murdered an innocent person. For the first time in her life, she realized what kind of a person she had become, and she didn’t like it. Song first notified the police about Liu’s plans and then disappeared into the night.
She went back to China and set up her own herb shop, only selling remedies. For the first time since her mother’s death, she lived a happy and quiet life. This recently changed when a man and a woman came into her shop, who desperately needed a poison to stun a large creature. How they knew about her past, she didn’t know, but the urgency in their eyes made her decide to help them.
Two days later, the man and woman returned and they revealed themselves as members of ASCO. They told her that they knew about her past, but that they hadn’t come to arrest her. Instead, her skills would come in handy as something called a hunter...
