Description

Abigail Perez

Image

Nickname(s): Abby

Age: Sixteen

Appearance Details: Abby figures she is around five feet and six inches tall, she has somewhat of a childish face. Her fair skin brings out her grey/blue eyes and her dark brown hair. Abby has a burn mark on her right lower hip that she is very self conscious of, she hasn't told anyone about it not even Cay.

Personality: Abby is a very quiet and shy girl that tries to please everyone but sometimes her laziness gets in the way. She is a bit clumsy and makes quite a lot of mistakes that Cay usual ends up having to correct it, and she always feels bad when he does. She tends to worry more about others than herself, whether she knows them or not. Abby tries to be independent but really can't, she doesn't have the best memory so she tends to forget things and sometimes has to be reminded to do things. When she is around Cay Abby becomes a bit more talkative and lively, she feels very comfortable when she is around him since they have been together since they were kids. She looks up to him and tries to be more like him even though she knows that it is impossible for her to. She is easily saddened but usually hides it so no one will worry about her. She is also easily embarrassed and somewhat fun to tease.

Brief History: Abby was born, well the same place as Cay. The only family she had was her father, sadly her mother died giving birth to Abby. Her father can either be the nicest person in the world or a person you would never want to be around, and this all depended on whether he was sober or not. Abby can usually tell when her father was drinking, so she would always sneak out and go by Cay. Her father was actually the one to give her the burn mark. She didn't tell Cay because she felt like she is already a burden and doesn't want him to worry. When Abby just wanted to be by herself she would alway go to a secret spot by the sea and just watch the waves. Abby has been happy since she has been able to go on the adventure with Cay.

Likes: Mornings, sunrise, the sea, birds, sleep, being around people

Dislikes: Fire, arguments, being sad or clumsy, night, silence

Tools/Weapons: The only thing that Abby has is a small pocket knife that she once found in her fathers room.

Abilities: Abby has extremely good eyesight, she is able to see very far and can spot anything or anyone. But she has bad allergies so her eyes can be easily irritated.

So begins...

After about ten minutes of staring at the ceiling Abby finally started to sit up on her bed. She looked out side and had a slight smile when she saw the sun starting to rise, waking up to a sunrise always made her day. As soon as she starts getting out of her bed and standing up she slips and falls onto her bedroom floor, when she sit up to see what exactly she slipped on she noticed that there was things scattered across her floor. She then stands back up rubbing her back that is slightly hurting from her fall and carefully makes her way to her bedroom door, as soon as she gets there she notices that the whole house is a mess. When she walks out into the hallway she sees her father passed out drunk by their front door. "D-Dad? Are you awake?" She was hoping for no answer but in stead he started slowly standing up and using the wall to help keep his balance. He then started walking around throwing things around the house and kicking things that are on the floor. Once Abby realized that he is having one of his drunk episodes she made her way back into her room, closed her door, and quietly turned the lock.

She hurried to her bed while avoiding all the things that were on her floor, as soon as she got to her bed she hopped onto it and started opening the window that is over it. It was an old window that took some of her strength to open it enough for her to fit through it, once she was able to fit she crawled out the window and hopped onto the ground. She looked around a bit to see if anyone was around but there was no one in sight so she started making her way to the "dock", she knew who would be there and would definitely rather be with him than her father. On her way walking there she had realized that she never changed so she was still in her pajama shorts and tank top, she shrugged not caring what she looks like. As she approached the "dock" She saw a figure that she can always recognize and said slightly loud so he would be able to hear "Cay!" She started walking a bit faster towards him with a small smile on her face.

Abby laughed a bit when he saluted her, she knew how he was with fishing and that he would do something like that so he wouldn't have to look away from the water. "Or maybe the fish is smart and noticed that it was a trap?" She stuck her tongue out at him, she barely gets any chance of teasing him and this was on of those miracle moments where she actually had the chance. She looked up at him a little red when he commented about her being awake "I can wake up early if I want to.... I just choose not to... Because sleep is amazing." She paused and looked at her pajamas "Oh yeah, I was in a hurry so I forgot to change. And yeah, you can say that..." She sighed and sat down on the dock, she could feel her eyes getting heavy and the early waking catching up to her, she was practically falling asleep. Abby looked up at him after she smelled the sweet scent of his drink. He seemed to be more tired than her, she knows that he doesn't always sleep well. "Im ok, you look more tired, you have it." She smiled kindly at him. After declining his offer she laid down on the dock and looked up at the sky and started watching the birds and the clouds, this always seemed to help her feel better.

"Id rather sleep than be awake so i'm alright. But is your head alright?" Her eyes were barely open, she could barely pay attention to Cay. "Hmmm? Maybe, you never know." Abby rolled onto her side and curled up into a ball with her eyes closed "Did you say something?" It was then that she fell right asleep, she wasn't used to getting up this early but Abby was always tired so she never really needed a reason to sleep, she could just fall right asleep. She never had troubling sleeping unless there was something really bugging her. She could sleep anywhere at anytime, which can be good but bad. Abby never really moved in her sleep so she would practically stay in the same position she fell asleep in. But she does sometimes talk in her sleep about something that might be bothering her. "Leave" She mumbled this quietly in her sleep a few times.

Alyxandar, together with North, Elaine, Lizard and Lemon were the last ones to take the last dingy down from the ship. A few other boats, around 8, have already paddled their's towards the different parts of the islands. Knowing that they need to keep every part safe upon her arrival. The gentle rocking of the wind almost made her sleepy, if it weren't for the thoughts running inside her head she would have dozed off.

Judging the distance of the island from where they left The Sirena, it was a good 30 minutes before they reach the island when North asked her a question after much chuckle with his plans, "Captain, have ye been thinking about what we're goin' to be doing to this lad? What if he isn't so friendly as to just hand over what he has?"

She kept quiet for a while, she had obviously been thinking about the same question since she heard back from Ham, as much as she doesn't want to harm anyone- she has to do what she has to do. "We are pirates North- not missionaries." She gave him a meaningful answer.

"Just make sure you'd stick that sword if you need to- no thinking twice..." She followed her words.

But at the back of her mind she knew what she really intended to do if the lad would fight back... hopefully he wouldn't be too fidgety.

Her eyes slowly start to open as she awakens and starts to stretch as she realizes where she is a suddenly sits up wondering how she got here. After a few minutes of staring at the wall she finally remembered that she fell asleep at the dock "Cay must have carried me here." She smiled a bit, Cay always seemed to take care of her since she is usually dependent on others. Abby wrapped his blanket around her and made her way towards the front door wondering where Cay was, she was surprised that he left. When she got outside he was Standing on his porch holding a rope with a claw at the end of it "Is that a grappling hook?" he seemed to be looking out into the sea and when Abby looked she noticed that there were some pirates "More trouble?" She laughed a bit. She didn't think they seemed seemed that bad but you never really know with pirates. Abby looked a bit closer and saw hat the captain was a women which is very rare, and it seemed that they know a group of pirates that have been here for quite sometimes. She also noticed that they they seemed to be looking for something "Do you think they came here for you?" looking up a Cay she saw that he had somewhat of a serious look so that must be it. "Hey... Im here if you need me" She nudged him and smiled a bit.

She watches him as he uses his grappling hook "I'm sorry." Even if things weren't Abbys fault she would still feel sorry, thats just the way she is. "But i'd rather stay here" She stuck her tongue out at him "I can be of some help..... Sometimes... Im not totally weak... Maybe" Her voice got quieter and quieter as she spoke because she knew that she couldn't really help even though she wanted to. "Lets go kick their butts!" Abby kicked her leg up as dramatic affect but ended up using too much power and with Abby being clumsy and all she ends up falling on her butt. "Oww..." Whiles she scratched the back of her head she looked at him and laughed at herself "Maybe I can distract them?" She said as she continued to laugh.

Alyxandar pushed her way through the throng of her crew, North and Elaine on her right and the others scattered around her. If the boy was wise, he'd give up instead of trying to fight at least 50 men and even before his companion was able to get inside, Alyxandar nodded towards Spider, a crew of her's who moves as fast as anyone could, signalling him to move. Spider jumped from a tree behind and grabbed the girl, moving before anyone could react and brought her to his captain.

"The letter and she won't get hurt," Alyxandar spoke, not as a threat but as a promise. "You are wise enough to know what it is that we seek, don't make it hard for you and your friend boy. Hand it over." Her hand no where near the hilt of her cutlass and instead wrapped around her arms.

The only words that came out of Alyxandar's mouth was a long and painful no. She was about to rush towards the burning paper but her crew held her back and before anyone could take the boy in custody he had a pistol up his head, ready to blow anytime. Alyxandar tightened her fists and listened as he went on with his proposal, his friend still in Spider's hands and a knife under her throat.

Her jaw tightened and she announced in clenched teeth, "Le' her gow Spider."

"Bu Cap'n?!" He retorted.

"I said le' her gow," And with that the man set the little girl free. "I suggest ye follow us, me matey's don't have all day. And don' even fink of running. The island's filled with me crew," She turned her back against the boy as Spider pushed the girl back into his arms.

"Boats er fillin' might as well carry as lil' as you can. Don' haf much use for any of yer junk, we provide everyfing you be needin'," and she walked away. Leaving North and Elaine to do their jobs- making sure the boy comes with them.

Well I'll be damned... The boy had burnt the letter before any of them could reach it.

Her head was hung low when her Captain turned back. They had failed her. Any hidden message left on that letter was now gone. The boy had probably just memorized the drawing and the writing. Anything else that was a potentially hidden would now be kept secret forever. She was annoyed that this boy had the gall to defy her captain. How could he have had the audacity to burn Alyxandar's hopes into ashes? Now, they would have to travel with a brat. Wonderful.

Once Spider threw the girl back into his arms she stepped forward to snatch the gun from his hand once she saw his arm lower. "Listen here, boy. We may be pirates, but our captain has given her word to not hurt that girl. Now, you better keep yours. Our crew won't touch you, and you won't be harmed while in the custody of our crew. So, you won't be needing this." She said as she waved the gun in her hand. "Don't want you sending yourself to Davy Jones either, boy." She walked back to North and put the boy's gun in his hand. She had no use for guns.

"Oh," she said turning around, "Hurry up. I want to eat some grub."

The boy and his little girlfriend had taken much longer than she expected, and it really got on her nerves.  She couldn't just leave the task to the other members because she felt that she owed it to the Captain to complete the job properly.  She had the urge to knock on the door several times and at certain points wanted to just command the men to kick the goddamn door down.  It was no secret that the musician was really cranky on an empty stomach.  To top it off, when the duo had finally stepped out, the girl didn't want to leave the boy.  Oh, for goodness sakes.  Fed up with the two Elaine simply kissed her teeth and turned on her heel.  She was getting her food, and the little girl wasn't going to delay her meal any further.  "North, we're eating." She said flatly to the navigator.

"Let's go little girl.  We'll go talk to the Captain." She said dully.  Of course she didn't want the girl coming onto the ship with them, the boy himself was already a pain; but she would let the Captain deal with them.  At least if the words came from the Captain herself, they wouldn't attempt to question her.  Elaine, as a musician, didn't have much of a ranking to them.  She boosted herself up onto the mare from before and directed her in the path she had seen her Captain walk off on.  Making sure the two were following, she followed some of Ham's men who offered to lead her to the restaurant. When they finally reached it she hopped off the mare, stroking her neck gently and thanking her for being so well behaved.  Slowly she passed the reins to Ham's men.  She would miss that mare.  Soon enough the smell of cooked food from the restaurant flowed into her nostrils.  Licking her lips she beckoned the two kids over and stepped inside.

Elaine could be heard grumbling to herself when she walked into the restaurant.  Goddamnit, FINALLY. She thought.  It wasn't hard to locate her fellow shipmates.  Everyone's eyes were practically glued on their table.  She recognized her Captain's figure holding onto some girl.  A blonde.  How interesting, there weren't much blondes around.  She was curious as to what business the Captain had with the girl, but it didn't look like the girl was comfortable.  She wanted to order something, but everyone was distracted by the blonde girl and her captain.  Sighing she tapped the shoulder of one of the waitresses.  "Girl, I'd like something to eat please. Now would you be a darling and fetch me some food?" She asked quite nicely.  The girl turned to look at her, the questioning look in her eyes soon disappearing once she caught sight of the crew members close behind her.  The girl nodded and went to go whisper an order to a man that seemed like the head of the place.   When the girl pointed at her she smiled and gave a little wave. God if she didn't get some food soon she was going to eat off someone's plate.

Next Elaine wandered over to her Captain's table, curious as to who the girl was.   Standing on the girl's left side she leaned forward to get a look.  Pretty one she was, and older than Elaine as well.  Naturally, Elaine's old habit of pickpocketing made her eyes wander to her cloak for any openings she could sneak her hand into.   Surprisingly, the first thing to catch her attention was what resembled the metal barrel of a gun.  Just what did this girl think she was doing?  How dare she? Was she stupid? It's not like her Captain was going to be shot easily, but the threat of harm itself was unforgivable. Even if she pulled the trigger did she think she was going to get away from the angered crew ready to pounce on her and tear her limb from limb?

The musician growled and pulled out her dagger from her boot, pointing it at her side.  "That better not be a gun you be pointing at my Captain." She said with a hiss.

Elaine's head whipped in the direction of the guards crashing through the doors. "Oh, fer crying out loud!" She yelled, pulling her dagger away from the blonde girl and dashing towards the two kids she had brought in before. Her priority was the boy, but he seemed to be taking care of the girl on his own anyways. Well, she couldn't complain, less work for her, but it was certainly more baggage. Grabbing the kids she threw them over the side of the bar, and sheltered herself along with them from the hailing bullets. Kissing her teeth she grunted. Now would have been a good time for a gun.

Looking to the side she saw her captain jump over and charge into battle. Oh, captain. She always had her respect. Unlike Alyxandar though, Elaine wasn't the type to charge in. It didn't take long for most of the shooting to subside, and Elaine peeked over the bar to watch her captain and the crew have them guards surrounded. The musician snickered. The faces of those men were just wonderful to see. However what she heard next surprised her. Apparently the Captain was going to keep the blonde girl, and bring her with us? Oh no. Another one?! Two fingers came up to rub her temple. Great. Just great. Of course she wouldn't question her Captain, but bringing two kids, and some... rich girl that would complain over the smallest things? Wait, now the cook too? Elaine sighed, stood up and replied, "Yes ma'am." Turning her head to the two kids next to her she commanded, "You heard the Captain, git yoor asses out to the ship."

The musician's stomach growled once again. She hadn't eaten at all yet, and they were already heading back out to sea. This wouldn't do. She impatiently bit her lip and stormed into the kitchen. Luckily, the guards had only made a ruckus on the outside. Her lips tugged into a smile as she grabbed a plate of somewhat warm eggs and bacon. Workers just stared, not daring to stop her. She paid no heed to them, and being in a rush, so she didn't bother with utensils, walking back out with a plate of food in her hand. Wait, if the cook came along, did this mean she was able to eat land grub on the ship? Oh, she had to get him to come aboard. Unfortunately, her captain's offer hadn't sounded very promising.

"Cook, sorry, my captain might have simplified her request a bit too much." She said with a smile. Finishing the last few chews of a bacon strip, she continued, "To be honest with you, we are on a very promising journey. If this journey proves to be successful, then we will be rich beyond our wildest dreams. If you tag along, you could bring some riches back and fix up this whole place. It's the offer of a lifetime."
