A Secret World

In a city, you can't expect much. There's the usual crook, pacifist, overly loyal people....However, at night, this place changes. Why? In this place, at night, hybrids called Harbingers and Nephilim come out as soon as the moon rises.

Introduction

"You can't expect much from this place. Though, watch your back at midnight- You never know when someone will just...kill you."

In a city, you can't expect too much. There's always your usual crook, pacifists, couples, overly loyal people, all the usual stuff. However, have you ever wondered of what happens outside when you're safely in your house at night? When you're sitting in bed, looking at the dark ceiling while wondering to yourself. You can still hear the bustling of people rushing to get home, the whirrs of tires and the occasional beeping of a truck. And when everything is still, you are asleep. Have you ever wondered what happens while you are asleep? You can no longer hear or see anything, as you sink into your deepest dreams. Well, I guess I can bust in a little secret.

Image

It all started with the two opposing sides, Heaven and Hell. It's always been a waiting game- Neither the Almighty one, God or the Prince of Darkness, Satan fire the first shots. If God were ever to fire the first shots, He would send His angels directly to Hell itself. All they use, is their influence on humans. Angels or demons may be sent up to the land, unseen, unmoving, just watching. Not much has been able to handle the sight of them, but sometimes, humans may get lucky and even start a love with either. This results in hybrids called....

For the demons, they are Cambions.

For the angels, they are Nephilims.

But this is not accepted. Nephilims and Cambions are not to be seen by society, as they all refuse to accept that this has happened. Both have the power of their parents, albeit lessened. Stronger than ordinary humans. If they were ever to appear during the day, all hell will break loose. That is why this city always covers up the mess these two trouble-makers leave in their tracks.

Now, this is where you come in. Who are you? Are you of the demons side? Or are you an angel? Maybe you are a human that found them? Who knows?

This side of the city is a secret, after all.

--The Angelic Side--

Image

Angels, or in this case, Nephilims. The holy soldiers of God, forever watching and protecting. They have long sworn on protecting humans, but this does not mean that they can't be tempted. They can manifest in a human body, but this will severely cripple their powers. However, you must not underestimate the resolve of an angel- Very few have ever fallen in love with a human, much less bear a child with them. An angel will ultimately fall if this is to happen, and are left as Fallen Angels. On the other hand, Nephilims are beings with angelic powers and a human soul. Unlike their parents, Nephilims have free will- They can be someone descended from an angel but is evil, or they can follow after their parents. Of course, your angelic parent will try to lead you in their way, but in the end, it is up to the Nephilim.

Cambions-- No, let's not call them that. I'd like to refer to them as Harbingers. They are like the demonic version of Nephilims. They are, of course, descended from demons. Demons themselves are likely to do this, but as luck would have it, Harbingers are as hard to find as Nephilims. Like Nephilims, they have human souls, and their demonic parent may try to lead them to their own path, the path of darkness. Again, you have free will. Though it's hard to find Harbingers that go for good, since their powers are well, demonic. These people are just as unaccepted as Nephilims are, and they're the more troublesome one of the two hybrids. Watch your back around them, you never know when to trust them or distrust them.

Humans. Of course, there will always be the presence of humans. They cover the city. And they are the ones that do not accept both Nephilims and Harbingers. The Jack of All Trades, master of none. Humans do have the power of science on their side though. Guns, tanks, the police force- Pity the police do not know about the two hybrids though. It's alright though, humans can take on both- If they have the power to do so. Maybe you should start learning some magic if you want to stand up to the two hybrids?

Risaya was irked at the guard's rather rude statement. You don't normally "demand", as that is the tone this guard was using, to know about a person's preferences and reasons for their purchases especially if you're just a security guard. No guard ever walks up to someone who bought something at a mall and ask why they bought that item.
"Who knows? Maybe I feel exalted at the thought of living in a large place. Maybe I'm planning to turn this place into an apartment again. Maybe I even plan to build my own mansion here. The point I'm making is why am I being questioned by the choice of abode I chose for myself by someone with no authority to be here."
Since the only one who went inside was the detective, he was sure to receive the full force of the field. This guy on the other hand, was something else. Her blood was screaming at her to get away from this guy. And only two creatures can get her mana circuits react that way.
"Nephilim? Cambion?"
This was turning out more trouble than what its worth. She could always just turn in Shino but, she doesn't want to just turn her down either. The safest bet is to keep relying on her abilities. She amplified the effects of the Bounded Field more and more, to the point that even an archangel would lose the desire to go in and investigate the building any further. She glanced down at her cuffed wrists. She can use her magic to unlock it but, it is best to wait it out for a while. That man won't find anything anyway.
"He may keep looking, he may try listening closely to the walls, he may touch every inch of it, even smell or taste every piece of item but, unless I want you to perceive with your mind and senses whatever is in there, you won't find anything."
She was getting annoyed at this guard. He cuffed her without a proper warrant of arrest and he was holding on to her rather roughly plus, this condescending tone of his was downright rude and out of place. It's one thing if it was coming from a true person of authority like a mayor or general but from a security guard who doesn't even have a firm or business in this area? Downright out of place and abusive. He's just like her uncle whom she loathed a lot.
"By now, all desires and instincts to stay in this area should be drained from these two. Just wait a bit longer."

Jason walked back inside, hearing the woman saying something to Allan, but he tuned it out. His eyes slowly scanned the floor he was on. Empty.

He rubbed his chin in thought. If there was a hiding spot, where would it be? He walked over and started feeling the walls, knocking lightly on certain spots. They all checked out, nothing wrong.

After looking around for another moment, he declared this floor clear as he headed for the stairs. A few feet up however, he noticed something. He wasn't sure what it was at first until he noticed it was getting harder and harder to go up each step, not because something or someone was holding him back. His own body was refusing to go any further. He started feeling lazy and apathetic to not only the search, but this building in general. It was just an old building. Why put all this effort into it?

Jason shook his head. "When did I start thinking like that? I was so ready to start ripping up floorboards if I had to. Now... it's like I can't be bothered."

He'd never felt such an intense wave on apathy before, like a child when told to do chores. He tried to force himself to continue up the stairs, but he just couldn't budge. He felt the last bit of will leave his body, and he let out a defeated sigh. Trying to go any further was just... uncomfortable.

"Forget this. There's a thief/murderer out there and I'm wasting time searching near empty buildings. There's no way the thief is hiding here; there's nowhere to hide."

His body and mind almost voiced relief as he turned and headed back down the stairs and out the front door to the two waiting for him outside.

"The place is clean, I didn't turn up with anything." He lied, not wanting them to know he gave up the search because he didn't feel like it.

"Officer Allan, you can un-cuff her. We have other places we need to go."

He walked over to the woman with his hands in his coat pockets. "Sorry for the trouble ma'am. I hope we didn't take too much of your time. We'll be going to check out some other locations. You stay safe."

Pulling out his hand from a pocket, he presented a small card with his name and number on it.

"If you do see something suspicious, please call me. I'm available almost 24 hours a day."

He started to head over to his car. "Let's go, the trail's getting cold." He said to Allan, turning back his head to him. As he got near his car, he didn't feel too good. Something was wrong. He had already forgotten what 25% of the building even looked like.

"What the hell is going on...? What's wrong with me?" He mentally fumed. "I don't normally give up searches. Maybe... maybe searching somewhere else is just a better idea. Or maybe I just need more sleep; these long hours aren't good for my health."

He ran through several ideas in his head as to why he gave up on this building, anything to convince him that leaving was a good idea. He reached for the car door in heavy thought.

"Who knows? Maybe I feel exalted at the thought of living in a large place. Maybe I'm planning to turn this place into an apartment again. Maybe I even plan to build my own mansion here. The point I'm making is why am I being questioned by the choice of abode I chose for myself by someone with no authority to be here."

Allan just took his hand off her shoulder and lazily put his palm up against the middle of his face. With all these things stressing him he just wanted to pull his own face off like it was melted cheese. After listening to her haughty response he remembered just why he didn't like talking to people. "Ugh... Forget I said anything."

Speaking of melting that train of thought brought the gross heat of someone else's body on his hands. The feeling of a persons body heat on any part of him was just plain uncomfortable. As it was he just wanted to take the one hand he was still holding her arm with and dunk it in a bucket of ice so he can bring that sense of placid numbness back. There was something else to her body now that he was dwelling on the subject. It was an almost alien sensation, one he had never felt before. It wasn't necessarily unpleasant but he was unable to know what it was that he was sensing about her. Nonetheless he was uncomfortable just being around her right now. He didn't really have any business being all the way out there anymore.

"The place is clean, I didn't turn up with anything. Officer Allan, you can un-cuff her. We have other places we need to go."

Without another word he fished out the key to the cuffs and popped them open. Quite frankly he was happy to just let her go, not just because of her body temperature disturbing his status quo but also because of that unfamiliar resonance that could be felt when he was near her. With the cuffs in hand he folded them up and tucked them back in their holster before heading on over to the passengers seat of Jason's car.

"Let's go, the trail's getting cold."

He was well ready to get going. "Well, what now?" He asked as Jason was getting in.

"Well then, I must admit that this won't make it into my list of favorite evenings."
She watched the car retreat out of view. Tired from that dialogue exchange, she headed back inside the building and picked up a stone from the ground. Reaching the second floor landing, she casually tossed it to the side, reactivating everything else. The ghosts, the familiars, the portals and the other traps in the atelier. She headed back inside her office via the passage she taught Shino.
"Well, thanks to those two, I now have an excuse to try out something I wanted to try for a long time now."
She finally threw her body on the covers. It was nice to get a good night's rest after that ordeal. She wondered about that security guard though. He might be a Nephilim since he exhibited the same kind of unease that she had when they were close together.

The next morning...
Shino was kneeling in front of Risaya, who was doing something to one of the walls, with her arms on her lap.
"Ummm...Boss? It's okay if you don't bring in my pay for this month. I'll even reimburse it myself. In installments."
"Next time you have trouble like that, try not to risk the building? What do you think would happen if they found out the armory?"
"I'll assume that they'll think you're some kind of nut. The armory doesn't even have any weapons! It's just the place where you store all your dolls and thingies that we don't know if they will even work. They'll only be suspicious if they find something shaped like a gun or a sword. What is a weapon to you, may not seem like a weapon for everyone."
"Aha! And now I'm getting lectured by the cause of the problem? Want me to dock your pay for another month?"
"Aaahh!!! No, please, I'm sorry!"
Risaya finished drawing up some sort of circle in the wall. Shino looked closer on the engraving. It didn't seem familiar. Chinese calligraphy perhaps? She walked over to Risaya as she was searching the shelves for something.
"Still, to be able to trick them like that, just how strong of a Magus are you Boss?"
"If I were to be ranked by the association, I'll be around rank thirty, or something."
"There are stronger Magus than you? That aside, how did you do that anyway?"
"It's a simple trick of the eye. The Fujyuo highlights were designed with symmetry in mind so, all buildings initially looked the same. By manipulating the mirror world of the Kaleidoscope, what we were looking at was the interiors of the adjacent structure. Of course, it can still be broken if they reached out to touch something, so I have to trick their senses even more with the Bounded field. Even if they grabbed something, they won't truly see it for what it is unless I wanted them to. It's really stressful maintaining it up since I had to completely occupy their hearing with my mindless ramblings. Oh, found it!"
Risaya took out a large bottle of red liquid and set it on the table. She poured some contents into a beaker and examined it.
"Hey Boss? What's that?"
"Dragon's blood. It's for using that new form of going in and out of this building. Basically, ingest a small portion of it to your own blood and you should be able to travel between other circles via the dragon's ley lines. Wait a minute--"
Risaya left to take something from her room. Curious about the effects, she took the beaker and drank it. She keeled over to the floor, holding her mouth as the liquid cascaded down her throat. Risaya immediately helped her up and propped her on the chair.
"Shino...you weren't supposed to drink it all. That's why I took out the syringe. A small amount is fine."
"Aarrgghh!!! It tastes like burned toast! How do I look?"
"See for yourself."
Shino walked over to the mirror. Her eyes turned into a deep, reptilian red, similar to a crocodile. Similar to a dragon.
"Aaahh!!! What am I gonna do?"
"I don't know. You're half-dragon now, figure it out yourself."
Risaya answered in an annoyed kind of way. Dragons are ranked even higher than angels and demons in the other world. Being a Nephilim is one thing. Being a half-dragon gives you much more.
"Hey, what if anyone I know sees this? What will I tell them? How will I face them now?"
"I don't know maybe, try using your brain before jumping to stupid things that are out of your control?"
"Boss, this is serious!"
"So am I."
Shino sulked as she lay face-down on the sofa. Risaya looked through some stuff and took out a pair of glasses.
"Here. This should divert the attention off. Try not to think like a dragon. Think of yourself as still Shino."
Shino did as she was told. Checking up on her a few minutes later, Risaya saw that the reptilian features on her eyes were gone. Her eyes were still red but now, they looked more like her own.
"Well, it worked."
Still worried about her pursuers, Shino inquired about the properties of the bounded field.
"Hey Boss? In the off-chance that they saw my face, will that memory be affected by the field too?"
"Yes, as long as it's anything within this area. They'll probably mistake your features for someone else's or when the time comes, they won't be able to describe what you look like. It's the same thing that's going on with me."
"I guess. Even when people ask me what you look like, I can't describe you at all. I can't remember any features you have, the color of your hair, your eyes, even your height and stature. Isn't it hard socializing because of it?"
"That's why I don't go out often. My Origin is "forgetfulness" and, as someone with an awakened Origin, all people I interact with are bound to forget me anytime. Those two won't even remember what I look like later."
Risaya turned to her assistant and gazed at her eyes.
"I wonder how long it takes until you forget me completely as well..."
"Hey Boss, I mean, Risaya-san, don't say sad things like that. I'm still here. You're not alone just yet."
"Well, you won't be forgetting about me anytime soon. I'll probably stay here for a few more years. That's right. I was just whining with no attention to form..."
"Risaya-san?"
"They should've forgotten all about your physical appearance by this time. Go now and find that Mackenzie and bring him under police custody."
"All right, I'm off!"
Shino took a good look at the dragon circle and absorbed every detail of it. She took a deep breath and walked inside, emerging somewhere behind the building.

Jason slowly drove down the road. He heard Allan's question earlier, but was still trying to get his thoughts under control. He felt fine now, but he still didn't understand what happened earlier. He felt like memories of that place were slowly fading. How many floors were in that place again?

He dismissed it for now; he searched, he found nothing. It was time to move on.

"Okay, this is what were going to do. The other two addresses that we wrote down earlier, where going to check out those places too, but not tonight. It's getting late enough as it is and you've been away from your post too long. Besides, I have to go a take care of the body in the alleyway, write a report, and other annoying amounts of paperwork from everything that happened tonight. I'm dropping you back off at the mall."

When the car pulled up at the mall, he copied the addresses down on the notepad before handing one to Allan. He also went and handed him one of his cards as well. "Tomorrow, just call or text me when you're ready, and we'll meet at one of the two locations, which we'll discuss which one at that time. Don't worry, I'll contact your supervisor and clear things up if you need me to, so just give me a heads up. I'm going to make sure we solve this, and make sure this hard work didn't go to waste."

He leaned back in his seat and fished out his phone, punching a number in. "I have to admit though, you handled yourself pretty well tonight. Ever think of joining the police? No offense to mall security, but I think your skills would be better put to use in the QCPD."

"Alright, I have to make a call so I'll see you later."

After dropping Allan off and calling in about the body, he felt at ease that he didn't have to go take care of it himself. He needed some sleep; he worked both a day and night shift today.

Arriving home, he walked home and head towards his bedroom where his wife was sound asleep. He removed his weapons and gear and changed into his pajamas; a t-shirt and boxers.

Slipping into bed quietly not to wake her, Rachel peeked through one eye groggily and smiled when she noticed her husband was home safe and sound. She cuddled up next to him and fell asleep again quickly.

Jason smirked himself before he started to feel sleep overtake him as well. This was the perfect reminder for him that all this work wasn't just for the city, but for his family as well.

The next morning, Jason was in his office. He put his pen down with a yawn. The paperwork was finally finished. He leaned back and listened to the sounds of the police department outside and around his office, bustling with activity as usual. Phones constantly ringing, the low hum of chatter, the knock on his door...

Knock on his door? He snapped back to reality when his door opened, and his boss walked in.

"Oh, good morning sir!" Jason greeted him.

"Morning. Did you finish the paperwork from last night?"

"Yes sir, here it is."

He scooped it off his desk and handed to him. His superior gave them a quick glance and smiled.

"Good job Tetrick. Now, how's the Mackenzie case coming along?"

Jason thought about his progress with the case. Next to nothing. He was assigned it yesterday, but got distracted with his own personal business. "To be honest sir, not much so far. I heard he hangs around North Boulevard, but that's it so far."

"Well... don't take too long to hop on it Detective Tetrick. We need to find this guy and place him under police protection while we find out what happened to him. Who knows if someone is after his life to silence him from spilling what he saw."

"Any clues to who the culprit could be sir?"

"Well, most people think it's Big Sniper, a killer who's been rising in popularity lately."

Jason remembered hearing that title once or twice before. All assassinations by sniping, and no one has been able to track him down. He was high on the police's Most Wanted list, and he even heard talk of the department planning to hand out a cash reward for information leading to their arrest soon. The amount hasn't been discussed yet, but he knew it would get higher as the assassinations continued.

"I have to take care of some business. Keep up the good work, Detective."

His boss walked out and his door closed behind him, once again muffling the sounds of the department he was in. He had a lot of work to do today. He might need to pull another night shift if things get too hectic. Sighing, he reached for the mug on his desk and took a sip of the coffee he bought earlier. He made a disgusted face before putting it back down.

"Ugh... doesn't anyone know how to make good coffee anymore?"

Besides, I have to go a take care of the body in the alleyway, write a report, and other annoying amounts of paperwork from everything that happened tonight. I'm dropping you back off at the mall."

They pulled up right back at the mall where all this craziness took off. Jason handed him a paper with the addresses copied down as well as one of his cards.

He nodded, stepping out of the car after pocketing the cards he was handed.

"I have to admit though, you handled yourself pretty well tonight. Ever think of joining the police? No offense to mall security, but I think your skills would be better put to use in the QCPD."

He looked back to see Jason speaking to him from his car.
"If they pay better and they're willing to hire me you can count on it." Was his response. His dedication to this job was based purely on the fact they were hiring and he needed the cash. He knew for a fact that the police force paid better but without much job history or references he didn't stand much of a chance.

"Alright, I have to make a call so I'll see you later."

"Right, see ya." He bid his new acquaintance farewell before turning around and walking back into the mall through the same way he left. He locked the storage door behind him and proceeded into the shop. As he got in he proceeded back through the opening in the mesh fence and locked it closed like it was supposed to be.

Luck had spared him this day as apparently the guard who was supposed to relieve him for his lunch break had been busy with the other guards as the time right around that particular hour was lunch break for many of the guards. He got his break a little later than usual but in this rare instance late was good.

The night went rather uneventfully since then. Dawn arrived and then a couple hours later the day guard came by to relieve him of his post. The guy was five minutes late but after all the crap he had to put up with today some dude being a little tardy seemed rather minor in comparison. He handed his radio in and signed out, leaving the mall and heading on back home.

As he got back home he felt tired. Not just the regular kind of tired after a day of hard work but nearly passing out on his feet tired. He just barely managed to brush his teeth and get out of his uniform before going straight to sleep on the bed.

It was the strangest sleep he's had. He didn't have a single dream that night but that was not all. He felt rather ill all throughout as if his body were fighting some sort of infection. He's never gotten sick before in his past so the feeling was completely new to him. Needless to say he didn't sleep very well.

The next day

He woke up from his restless night. A fine sheen of sweat had gathered on his forehead while he slept. He sat up and rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes. He felt quite low as if he had barely gotten any sleep that night. Looking over he saw the clock read six thirty PM. Six thirty in the evening!? I've slept twelve hours and yet it's like I haven't slept a wink. He was surprised by just how bad he was feeling despite the amount of sleep he's had. He dismissed it as just him sleeping badly and got into his morning routine.

He took his time with eating breakfast. Yesterday was the last day he had to work for the week. The company he worked for could only allot so many hours to someone, the time exceeding that going into overtime pay. If there was one thing the company he worked for loathed to part with more than anything else it was money. Hence, after working his share of work for the week he had at least three days off before he had to go back.
I could use that time to see about applying for the police force He plotted his course of action for the remaining week while he finished off his bowl of dry CheeriO's.

As it was, he just wanted to go back to bed and sleep straight through to tomorrow but he remembered that Jason wanted him to call today so they could go back to one of those places they checked out and investigate. He lazily picked the phone up and dialed the number on the card as he walked with the phone out of his apartment onto the front steps of the apartment.

He sat at the bottom step of his apartment complex, phone up against his ear as he waited for the guy to pick up. He was dressed in a casual ensemble of a plain white t-shirt which could definitely use a bleaching considering the faded miscellaneous stains covering a good portion of it, a pair of old beat up blue jeans and a set of well worn out sneakers. The sneakers had a hole right in them right in front of the right foots big toe.

He watched as people close to his age walked home along his street, fresh from school. He didn't feel very comfortable with the number of people in his general area but he put that discomfort aside while he waited for Jason to pick up the phone.

How do you find someone who doesn't want to be found? Well, you start out with the points he leaves behind. Then you work your way up, connecting the dots until they all make sense and point to that one direction on the map.

It's the same thing this young girl did as she stepped foot into the North Boulevard a good distance away from the city central. She started asking at the places he frequented. Then she moved on to those who turned him down. A bit more, and she asked the people whom he constantly interacted with. Slowly, she connected the dots until it all made sense that there is only one possible exit...

Shino stopped the car at a rather secluded apartment a good mile away from all the sights and sounds of the North Boulevard. The quiet residential area contrasted with the popular and dynamic mood of the main area. She paid the driver and walked over to the unit Ayers was staying at--or, at least hiding at.
"Good morning! Is this the residence of Ayers Mackenzie-san?"
A weary pair of eyes peeked out from a gap created by the partly opened door.
"Yes? Who is this?"
"I'm just your friendly neighborhood police contact who was sent to find you."
The man known as Ayers panicked, screaming at Shino.
"No! Don't tell! Please! I was just a witness!"
"Exactly the point sir. You need to be brought into police protection as you are very valuable right now..."
"It wasn't me! It wasn't me! I was just passing by when it happened. It was fast. It's like he was sniped from far away! What if he comes after me next?! What shall I do?! Where should I hide?!!"
The guy leaped forward and started shaking Shino violently while grabbing her shoulders. Annoyed, Shino slapped him on the cheek to calm him down.
"What do you think I'm here for?! They need you so they will be able to get leads while at the same time, offer you protection in the event that this Big Sniper comes after you! I just need some personal information and your address and you just need to stay put and wait for the cops! Don't believe me? Here!"
Shino presented a small ID card of some sorts. It somehow acted as a badge showing her as part of the police contacts. Of course, even if she is a contact, the badge was just a illusion by Risaya.
"Oh... I'm sorry. Here, I'll list everything down."
Ayers gave all the necessary information. As Shino turned to leave, he called out to her.
"If it helps more...the Three probably knows more about the Big Sniper. Just ask around, they are well known around the hospitals..."
Shino didn't quite get it yet. She stopped by a coffee shop and informed their police clients about the information she got. They acknowledged it and said that they'll be sending some guys over to pick him up so, she is okay to go by then. She bade goodbye and called her employer instead, to narrate everything.

"And that's how it practically went. The cops said they'll be coming over so... I already left the residential area."
"I'm a bit intrigued by this "Three" he spoke off."
"I want to find out more about that so, I think I'll stay around here for a while longer. Mind sending in some cash so I can rent a room for a couple of nights?"
"All right."
"By the way, Risaya-san? How long til the dragon blood wears off?"
"Around three days, give or take."
Shino sighed. She had a sudden craving for meat and seafood for some reason. She bet that it was the dragon blood acting up within her so, she wanted it to wear off.
"As I said, try not to think about being a dragon too much. It won't manifest if you're not thinking about it."
"Okay, bye."
Putting down the phone, she looked at herself in her pocket mirror as she walked down the small alley. Her eyes were still red but, it seemed to be a bit more human-like at least. It resembled her employer's--wait, did Risaya had red eyes or blue? She can't seem to remember.
"Forgetfulness huh? I can't seem to draw you in my mind Risaya-san. Is this what you were talking about?"
Shino felt some air rise up her throat. She thought it would be a burp but was alarmed when a small blast of flame went out.
"Oh man, this is so troublesome..."

Jason turned the keys in his office door, locking it. His work day was over and he was thinking about what to do.

"Tetrick!"

Jason turned to the call of his name to see his supervisor walk over to him.

"Sir?"

"Things have changed. We just got a call from some of our officers, telling us the location of Ayers Mackenzie. I need you to go and get him."

Jason's eyebrows raised in question. "Not to question your judgement sir... but why me? Wouldn't this be more suitable for several officers to go and pick him up for protection?"

"Not exactly. Mackenzie is a wanted man by no doubt multiple parties. If police cars go tearing through the streets to get this guy, it's going to be too noticeable and pull up too much suspicion. We need him alive, not ventilated with bullet holes. That's why we need to make this as low-key as possible. That's why I want you to go. This is your case anyway, isn't it?"

Jason nodded his head in understanding. It made sense; a police convoy, or any police cars for that matter would instantly draw suspicion in an area where crime doesn't happen all too often. It could lead to a shootout, or someone getting hurt. They had to assume that the people after him, or even Big Sniper themselves would be prepared to kill at a moments notice. It would truly suck to be this guy right now; poor guy is probably terrified.

"Very well sir, i'll make my way to him at once." He couldn't turn down his responsibility. Serving the community came first, his quest for knowledge on Nephlims and Cambions came second.

"Good, take this with you."

Jason's supervisor handed him a file folder with a badge on top.

"The folder has the address and anything else you'd need to know on this guy. As for the badge..."

Jason picked it up and examined it. It looked like the badge he had but the name on it was different: Allan Denton.

"You said you'd be meeting that kid today right? Take him with you. If he's as good as you say he is, I have no reason to disbelieve you. Tell me how he handles when this is over, and I'll consider putting him on the force."

Jason smirked as he pocked the badge and tucked the folder under his arm. He felt pretty good on how well his supervisor trusted him. "Thank you sir, I'll be sure to let him know."

His supervisor smiled and pat him on the shoulder. "Now, get going."

Jason nodded and exited the building heading for the car lot. Along the way, his phone started vibrating.

"Ah, that must be Allan."

He reached his car and pulled out his phone. He answered it and put it to his ear.

"Allan, I'm glad you called. Look things have changed. I'll explain it on the way, but I'm going to come and get you now."

He stepped into the car and shut the door before tossing the file and badge into the glove box.

"Where should I pick you up?"

Jace sat up groggily as the sun began to shine overhead, looking around he noticed that he was on the roof of a small building. Dang, did I really fall asleep outside again? He thought to himself. Oh well, I'll just have to be more stealthy to get what I need done. He then pulled out his list and read it to himself. "So, groceries, food, and a job. Seems simple enough." Standing he walked down into the building and casually through the store front. He continued to walk down the street until he came upon a small grocery store. Walking through he bought some basic things and, putting them in his bag, left. Walking a few more blocks he walked into a sandwich shop, the owner of which seemed to have knowledge of most rumors in the city. Walking up the the counter he ordered a sandwich, putting some extra money on the counter. "So, anything new?" He whispered. The guy responded, "Not much, just another murder, supposedly by Big Sniper." Once his food was done he took it and walked out. As he walked towards the job location and ate he thought about the murders. This Big Sniper person's getting pretty infamous. Maybe I should find him sometime and find his reasoning for these murders.

He finished just as he got to the place where his next job was. Sighing he said "What I do for money.. I swear I'm never working for one of the gangs again." He walked on into the jewelry store, there seemed to be a couple of people, but that shouldn't be a problem. Standing next to a jewelry case he flipped the light switch and used his shadow powers to completely black out the room. He then quickly broke the case and stuffed to jewelry into his bag. He then rushed out of the emergency exit as the alarm began to sound inside and the darkness cleared. After jogging for a few blocks in the alleys, he finally slowed down. That went well. He thought, but was soon disturbed as he saw a small flash of fire in the small alley ahead. Trying to alert all the humans about the supernaturals!? He thought as he rushed over there and blacked out the alley, including the person responsible for the outburst of flame, though let the light return after making sure no one was looking into the alley. Standing close to the person he whispered "Don't unleash another fire burst unless you want someone noticing. Do you know what could have happened if someone noticed?"

"Allan, I'm glad you called. Look things have changed. I'll explain it on the way but I'm going to come and get you now. Where should I pick you up?"

Jason had finally answered his phone. "Yeah, I'm-" His words were cut off when he suddenly had a massive yawn. Given the length of his yawn he was positively exhausted. "Yeah, I'll be down at the bus stop on Willard Avenue." He gave the location he could be found at after he regained control of his jaw muscles. Considering just how low he felt right then he didn't know how much use he was going to be to him.

With some effort he got up off the front steps and staggered vaguely in the direction he wanted to go. His feet dragged like he was pulling a ball & chain with each foot and his arms hanged in front of his forward drooping body like listless vines. He couldn't really explain just how he could feel so dragged down. He blamed it on poor sleep but he never really suffered from poor rest like this. His divine energy usually rejuvenated him to the point of not feeling like the clothes he was wearing weighed fifty pounds a piece. "What on Earth is wrong with me today?" He spoke to himself as he walked across the street and onwards towards his stop.

He finally pulled himself over to the bus stop sign on the closer edge of the street. Students and other adolescents rather close to his age were waiting at this stop for whatever reason Allan couldn't be bothered to figure out right now. He just slowly plodded over to a public bench and sat down. With his whole upper body lurched forward he braced elbows against his knees and set his head upon his hands like an ancient idol upon a stone pedestal. There he sat, his face in a sort of apathetic daze as he waited for Jason to pick him up. At this point he really didn't even notice what the other people at this stop were doing.

"It's not like I can help it. This kind of thing hasn't happened before until--huh?"
Shino looked legitimately surprised when she saw the boy standing close to her. She didn't notice him approach earlier and she was somehow more surprised when he knew about the fire.
"He managed to see that? Wait, what does he know about it anyway?"
She felt stupid for answering that statement. She really should lay low until the dragon symptoms fade. After that, she should be able to deal with everyday matters anyway.
"There are a lot of fire breathers around town, exhibiting their stuff. It's not really too different from a circus performance so, I don't think a lot of people will find it odd? By the way--"
She turned to face the young man. He seemed to be simple enough. Shino thought that if he merges with a crowd, it would be hard to distinguish him.
"You a local here? If so, then have you heard about the so-called "Three"? Apparently, some guys wanted me to find them and--"
She hesitated there for a bit. In this situation, it's best not to trust a lot of people immediately.
"I might draw a lot more suspicion if I say anymore details about what I learned from the three. I have to be discreet and focus more on getting the important leads and working my way there."
"Wait, forget what I said earlier. Do you know the well-known local hospitals around here? Specifically, ones that deal with mental illnesses."
She phrased the question as frankly as she could. Never mind if he seemed suspicious too. Time is against her and she has to unearth the details about the Big Sniper fast before, well-before whoever her boss and the police are tracking gets it in his mind to wipe them all out.

Jason pulled up at the location that Allan gave him over the phone. He pulled over and looked over at the bus stop, scanning to see if he could find him amongst the small crowd. Finally spotting him he, rolled down his window. He noticed how... casual he looked. Jason mentally shrugged; if that was comfortable for him, who was he to judge?

"Hey. Let's go, were short on time."

When Allan got in, he started heading to North Boulevard. Once again, it was explanation time.

"Alright, what we're doing now is getting a man named Ayers Mackenzie. You may have heard about Big Sniper, and they say he's a witness to one of their assassinations. He's at North Boulevard and we're going to put him in protective police custody. If this goes smoothly, we'll have enough time to investigate the case from yesterday."

Jason's radio sparked to life as he heard something about a jewelry store being robbed.

-KSHRRT- "Attention all units, a jewelry store off of Bradmere Lane has just been robbed. I repeat, a jewelry store off of Bradmere Lane has just ben robbed. All nearby units, please respond."

Really? Now? Just why was this city so lively today? It didn't matter; he had his assignment. The other officers would take care of it.

"Anyway, if you check the glove box, you can see a file on the man we're going to collect. There's also a temporary badge for you in there. Pin it anywhere you want, as long as it's visible. My supervisor told me to report how you do today, and if you do well he'll consider putting you on the force."

Jason made a quick left as he was getting closer to North Boulevard. "Oh, and there's a spare gun I keep in there too. You can borrow it if you want."

After a moment of driving, Jason finally noticed just how drained Allan looked. Almost sickly.

"Hey... are you feeling okay? You look like you didn't get any sleep at all last night. You also look a little sick."

He reached out and placed a hand on Allan's forehead for a couple seconds, hoping he didn't make him feel awkward in the process.

"Huh. You're kinda warm too." He mentioned, wiping same of the sweat on his hand in his pant leg.

Allan was looking towards the cement in a dreary fashion, not really paying attention to his environment like he should.

"Hey. Let's go, were short on time."

He heard Jason pull up to him in his car. He took his time getting to his feet before getting in the passengers seat. Once in he put his seat belt on and off they were again.

Suddenly the radio kicked to life. "Attention all units, a jewelry store off of Bradmere Lane has just been robbed. I repeat, a jewelry store off of Bradmere Lane has just ben robbed. All nearby units, please respond." It crackled.
Huh. Typical police stuff I guess. He figured, still listening to what Jason had to say.

"Anyway, if you check the glove box, you can see a file on the man we're going to collect. There's also a temporary badge for you in there. Pin it anywhere you want, as long as it's visible. My supervisor told me to report how you do today, and if you do well he'll consider putting you on the force."

He opened the glove box and collected both the file on Ayers Mackenzie as well as the badge. Great. Today's my day to show how I handle being a cop and I'm exhausted and I haven't even had my coffee yet. He mentally griped about the pressure that was suddenly on him as he pinned the temporary badge on his shirt. He yawned again, not quite as big a yawn but still a lengthy one. He wasn't feeling as tired now that he had some time to wake up but he was still pretty low.

"Oh, and there's a spare gun I keep in there too. You can borrow it if you want."

Allan's eyebrows went up a little bit. He didn't expect to be handling a gun as he technically wasn't a police officer quite yet. "It's alright. I'll take it if it looks like it'll be absolutely necessary. We're just picking a witness or something right?" He didn't take the gun for now but committed it to memory just in case. He was already flipping through the pages on the file, skimming over the details which seemed pertinent to him.

As they were going on Jason seemed to catch on that he wasn't feeling one hundred percent fine.

"Hey... are you feeling okay? You look like you didn't get any sleep at all last night. You also look a little sick."

Jason brought it up. Suddenly without much prompt Jason had reached out and put his hand over his forehead. "Huh. You're kinda warm too." He observantly pointed out before taking his hand off. He was right in that regard but Allan didn't want the topic to suddenly move onto him seeing as how he was being tested for the police force that very minute.

"Yeah, I don't think I slept very well. Anyways, yesterday you mentioned something relating to that whole business relating to some supernatural stuff involving Nephilims and... Cambions? I think that's what you called them. Anyways, I was hoping to talk with you more about that since you seem to know quite a bit about that stuff and I have something that might relate to what you were talking about." Perhaps not the best conversational segue but then again Allan was never a great conversationalist. He looked around, checking out the windows and such. They had some privacy inside the car but not enough for him to be comfortable showing his power off in it. "I think it'd be best if I showed you what I mean somewhere people can't get a peek. I'd rather keep it discreet and such." He most certainly fumbled his words but hopefully his meaning came across in the way he hoped it did.

He had only just met this guy and now this guy was probably going to be the first other person to see this. The thought made him almost squirm in his seat but after hearing a bit about what the guy knew about all this supernatural stuff he wouldn't have much hope of finding out more without showing a little of his side of the story.

A show and tell.

Jace smiled softly. So the power's relatively new to her.
"You have a point, but if anybody looked closely they would see that you aren't one. One, you don't carry the bottle they use to make their breath flammable, two, you don't activate it with another source of fire, and three, you don't have an appearance usually fitting a fire breather."
He leaned against a wall to get more comfortable. He decided he could let his guard down as she didn't seem to be hostile at all. She also seemed a bit trusting and yet suspicious at the same time considering how she stopped before finishing what she was saying about the Three. Note to self, figure out who the Three is.
"Well if you want to know yes I am a local, but no I have never heard of the Three. They must be pretty secretive if none of the guys I talk to have told me about them. As for hospitals there is one hospital that is known for it's work with mental illness. I am bad with giving directions, though if you'd like I could take you there."
He then heard sirens and saw a police car pass by the alleyway, heading in the direction of the jewelry store. I should really leave soon, the cops check the alleyways every time, good thing they'd have to really analyze the security tapes to figure out it was me who did it.
"Well, if you want to find it just follow me, I'll head there now, just act casual and try your best to control your fire breathing. I also hope you don't mind questions, and if you have any don't be afraid to ask. I'm Jace by the way."
He said before he walked out of the alleyway and started on the route to the hospital.

"I think it'd be best if I showed you what I mean somewhere people can't get a peek. I'd rather keep it discreet and such."

Jason nodded and started looking for anywhere... discreet. If he needed a quiet place to show him whatever he had, does that mean he had powers or something? Or video proof of a supernatural? He had to see this.

Soon finding an alleyway, he stepped out the car and walked inside. Jason found himself getting anxious, so he pulled out a cigarette and lit it quickly. He didn't have a reason to distrust Allan or whatever he says.

"Ok Allan, show me." He said with a smirk. He tried to look calm on the outside. On the inside, he was bouncing off the walls giddy like a child on a sugar high. If Allan really did have some feasible proof, he could finally see some powers and abilities first hand.

Allan followed Jason as they stepped from the car and into an alleyway. Jason had lit up a smoke right there, not exactly fun to breath but he moved that thought aside to concentrate on more concerning matters.

"Ok Allan, show me."

He looked to the left then to the right, examining the openings of this alley to make sure they weren't being watched particularly close by any passers-by. Jason seemed calm enough but he was watching quite intently.

"I'm gonna do the thing I was talking about. Ready? Right, here goes nothing." He said, trying his best to prepare the guy since he wasn't quite sure how his new cop acquaintance might react to this. Maybe he'd overreact? Maybe he'd underreact? He hoped for neither, just maybe enough of a reaction to not make him feel silly about talking around the bush like so but not so much as to suddenly cause this guy to draw his gun and start firing at him.

He held up his hand and concentrated for a moment. The hand started to faintly shimmer a dim sky blue color but it was little more than a dim aura. The shine just barely pigmented his hand with it's divine hue, a pale shadow of what it was just yesterday. As confused or amazed or interested as Jason might of been at this display Allan was just as much so but only confused. The hell!? This is hardly even a glimmer. Is this why I'm feeling so down? What happened between yesterday to bring my energy so low? His questions seemed to stack on top of themselves.

"So yeah, I've got these powers but I don't know too much about them. To tell you the truth though for some reason I've been greatly weakened since last night. Normally it's way more flashy." He explained himself to him. He probably didn't need to explain why his hand wasn't as bright as it should be since Jason probably had no frame of reference for measuring this particular phenomenon.

All I did last night was follow that thief to some buildings. That was it... Oh yeah, there was also the creepy woman. How'd I almost forget that? I swear I couldn't shake those heebie jeebies if I wanted to. And her self righteous yakking, god that was annoying. Yeah... Now that I think about it there was something off about that whole sequence. That's the only moment that might have the slightest thing to do with this.

The mysterious drain on energy and the inexplicably unaffected recollection of the event back at the worn down empty building, related or perhaps just coincidence? Allan could only pull at loose threads in his head while he was busy illuminating his current partner to his side of the story regarding the supernatural goings-on.

"Oh, right. I haven't thought of that. Well, you can just chalk it to their imagination or something and then run."
Shino casually answered in response to the guy's retort just now. If it was her boss, surely, she would have set up a large bounded field just so people don't remember her fire breathing. But, since this is Shino, she doesn't know what to do yet. The guy seemed to know the hospital so she took up his offer.
"Okay then, lead the way Mr. Jace! Oh, my name's Shino. Ryuunosuke Shino. Just a casual journalism student looking for facts for my story."
"And how did you manage to think up of that alibi, beans for brains?"
Shino teased herself in her mind as she followed Jace to the hospital she was looking for. She decided to open up a bit regarding her fire-breathing problems right now.
"I'm actually just a regular human but...this upperclassman of mine has a habit of bringing in weird stuff. She brought this red liquid one time and had me try it and BAM! Next thing I know, I'm belching fire from my mouth."
Shino laughed a bit as she fabricated it to make it seem like it was Risaya's fault instead of hers. In a way, it wasn't a complete lie but, it wasn't a complete truth either. She can't risk the office again after all. As they were walking, she heard some sirens wailing in the distance and thought that it might be hers.
"Calm down Shino. Risaya said that they don't know what you look like anymore so stop fidgeting your pockets!"
She thought to herself as she followed the guy around. He also seemed nice enough to be trusted so, she went along. In any case, she had prepared a means of escape handy if they get into trouble.

Jason's mouth hung open almost enough for the cigarette to fall out. Allan's hand was glowing a dim yet brilliant sky blue.

He's heard and maybe seen some powers at a distance or pictures, but to see it up close and personal; it was a moment he wouldn't forget anytime soon. What were the chances of his new partner he met yesterday having something like this?

"Well... this is surprising." Jason muttered, watching the light emanate from the young man's hand. "I had no idea you we're capable of doing something like this. I knew something was different about you when I first saw you, but this..."

He trailed off, al most mesmerized by the light.

"So yeah, I've got these powers but I don't know too much about them. To tell you the truth though for some reason I've been greatly weakened since last night. Normally it's way more flashy."

Way more flashy? So this wasn't all he could do? Jason inhaled some of his cigarette before exhaling slowly, turning his head so he didn't hit Allan in the face with it. Last night was pretty weird; he couldn't even remember what building they visited. The woman that they met, all he remembered that she was a woman. Appearance, age, reason for being there, they all escaped him, which was a little frustrating.

"Listen Allan, if you have abilities like this, that means you could be half angel or demon. I don't really have any way of telling though."

Jason though about how he was supposed to go get Ayers Mackenzie. He couldn't afford to take too long.

"Alright, unless you have something else to show me, we should get going. Mackenzie could be in some kind of trouble if we take too long. Don't worry though, we'll figure out what your powers, and this whole Nephlim/Cambion thing is about."

"Well I guess that might work." Jace responded. He let at out small laugh after she finished talking, though on the inside he thought about how flimsy her explanation for her fire breathing was.
"Sounds like an exciting life you have. Traveling around the city, meeting new people for school work, getting fed strange substances by upperclassmen, and doing what needs to be done to get the facts. Can't my own life is to exciting, I mainly wander the city doing odd jobs. Though I've noticed a decrease in calls for my services and I'm starting to think someone else is taking them."
As they walked it suddenly came to him that he didn't explain at all about how much he knew about magic, and though he really didn't need to, he felt he should show her something since she accidentally showed him her fire breath.
"Well we're almost there, but since I saw you breath fire I think I should let you see something too.
Looking at her through the corner of his eyes as they walked, he used his shadow manipulation to take a bit of shadow out of the next alley the passed by. He then changed it's shape and told her. "Okay, now look at the wall to your right." Walking along with them on the wall was a shadow shaped like her waving at her, before it reshaped into a bird and flew on the wall into the next alley.
"I hope having weird powers doesn't affect your opinion of me or anything. So, may I know what your latest story is about?"

"Listen Allan, if you have abilities like this, that means you could be half angel or demon. I don't really have any way of telling though."

He frowned. Ah jeeze. Last thing I want is to get dragged into some sort of holy war. As neat as that sounds I sure hope there's a different reason for this. He wanted to pry further into this whole issue but Jason had more to say.

"Alright, unless you have something else to show me, we should get going. Mackenzie could be in some kind of trouble if we take too long. Don't worry though, we'll figure out what your powers, and this whole Nephlim/Cambion thing is about."

He nodded. Even though he was concerned with what exactly being either half angel or demon entailed he was going to have to get this whole other side issue done with first. Without a moment lost he cut the power and proceeded towards Jason's car, thoughts of future problems dancing in his brain. "Right. Lets make this quick." He motioned to Jason as he got into the passengers seat. He was still far from fine but it seemed the longer he was awake the better he was feeling. It was less the lack of energy but what the cause might of been that worried him more.

"Well, it only really feels exciting when you start out but, once the work piles into huge loads, you'll wish you were just lying in bed, sleeping all day."
Shino appreciated the small talk. It helped take her mind of things that stress her out. Especially now that she has to concentrate on finding clues regarding the Big Sniper. Suddenly though, this Jace guy had shown her some nice shadow magic. She had seen this at play before when she was studying at the office but, not into complete detail and elegance as to how Jace controlled it.
"Heh, Shadow manipulation. I read about it but, this is the first time I've actually seen it up close in person."
Shino complimented the act. It was harmless and was more of a display for entertainment. She heard about Jace mention something about her finding him weird.
"Hmmm...I guess if it was anyone with a lack of exposure to magic, they'll be creeped out. Not me though. For a magic of this level, it deserves praise. Oh, I was kind of exposed to a bunch of other people who practice these kinds of arts professionally. It's commendable actually, to have full control over your powers. Unlike me who just got it from some sort of freak experiment."
Shino sighed as they continued walking. The young man asked about her story regarding the search for the three.
"Oh, the story regarding the hospital? The hospital is supposed to be known for its extensive history on mental illness. I was charged with researching a bunch of technical stuff that can somehow bridge the gap between insanity and the spike in the recent crime rate."
Shino weaved out a fabricated story. While it wasn't a complete lie, it wasn't a complete truth either. She was really there so she could track down more details regarding the Big Sniper.
"The city had become more dangerous recently. It's probably not a wise idea to dawdle outside for too long..."
She mumbled under her breath as she continued to follow the guy to their destination. She could somehow make out a white building but, whether it's the place or not, she wasn't sure as of the moment.

Jason nodded and quickly got into the car. Starting the engine, he drove towards his destination. Along the way, thoughts of the magic abilities he saw were hard to push aside, but he managed to do it with some effort. He had to focus; who knows who could be after this guy? After a short time, he realized they were getting close. His eyes scanned around until he found the building.

"There it is." The area was nice and quiet, but in this situation, it was a bit unsettling.

He parked the car along the curb and shut the engine off. Leaning back, he pulled out his two pistols and made sure they were ready to go. Time to get this over with.

As he opened the car door, he remembered this was also a test for Allan. He had to see how he would take the lead when needed.

"Alright Allan. All you need to do is go and knock on his door, tell him were here to put him in protective custody, and lead him back to the car. I'll stand by and keep an eye out for anything suspicious."

It was time to see how the kid would do. Jason smirked at him and reassured "Don't worry, I got your back. Any questions?"

"Alright Allan. All you need to do is go and knock on his door, tell him were here to put him in protective custody, and lead him back to the car. I'll stand by and keep an eye out for anything suspicious."

He looked over at the house. It was just a rather plain suburban house, a little shoddy even. Someone evidently needed his roof tiles fixed since a couple were missing.

"Don't worry, I got your back. Any questions?"

"None yet. Hopefully he responds." Allan stepped from the car. Standing just down the walkway from the house he almost hoped that the guy wasn't home right now. He didn't want to have to talk much. Regardless of his feelings towards the matter he approached the door.

Knock knock!

He rapped on the door twice. "Hello? Mr Mackenzie this is the police. We're here for you." He called out to whoever might be inside. His question was met with a period of silence. He shifted from one foot to the next as he waited. The silence had gotten quite awkward. "Hello?" He called out through the door again shortly followed by another short round of knocking. Not really doing much with himself he looked over to see if he could see anything through the window on the front wall.

The curtains weren't closed so he could see a bit of what was inside what was apparently the man's living room. Everything seemed fairly standard for a middle class bachelor's house. The place seemed rather orderly for a single man's home though something was a bit off. There was a lamp that was knocked over and a few books were displaced across the floor. The wide plasma screen tv the man had was currently off. Maybe it wasn't on because the man had turned it off but the rather wide series of cracks running out from a central point in the screen told a different story.

At this point without making any assumptions Allan figured the guy probably wasn't going to answer his door right away. "Hey Jason, The guy isn't answering the door. Looks like something happened in there." He yelled to the car so that Jason could hear him from inside. This situation was now more complicated but at least he didn't have to talk to any strangers. Was it a blessing or a curse?

Re: A Secret World

Cool (sorry bout saying the wrong gender, I have a habit to base it off of profile picks)

Re: A Secret World

@Ragnorok Yeah, kind of. I'm looking over the posts to see where I can jump in somehow, plus I've been a bit busy with my other ongoing RPs. (PS: You got my gender wrong. XD Nothing to worry about though, all's fine.)

Re: A Secret World

Is death still checking this place? haven't heard from her (I'm assuming she's a her) in a while

Re: A Secret World

@NutellaJake Well, we are still posting so, I guess this RP isn't actually closed yet.

Re: A Secret World

@NutellaJake - The GM hasn't mentioned anything about it being closed, so I assume it's still open. To submit a character, just go to the "Introduction" tab, and the "Submit A Character" option should be on the top right part of the screen, next to the big quote on the top of the page.

Re: A Secret World

Is this RP still open? And if where, where can I be referred to submitting an application?

Re: A Secret World

sorry about that, my internet is back to perfection at last so I should be able to post more.

Re: A Secret World

Still here. I've been somewhat busy all of a sudden and I missed when you posted so that was a little bit of a delay as well.

Re: A Secret World

Hey guys, I just noticed that it's been real quiet the past few days. Is everyone still here? Please give me a shout if you are.

Re: A Secret World

sorry about the shortness of my post, the internet's been really bad and has been having periods where it just stops working. It should be better soon though.

Re: A Secret World

I'm still here as well. I assumed everyone just went away for the July 4th weekend for a bit.

As for the triple post, it was just an error due to the website. I didn't really have any changes for the post itself. Sorry if I had any part in the confusion.

@Keen - Hey, are you still looking for a place to jump in? The water's warm! :D

Wow... that was kinda terrible. You get the point. >_>

Re: A Secret World

@ragnorokhellfire We're still alive, just waiting. I don't really like following my posts as immediately as possible. Usually, I wait until another post pops up that is related to where my character is at right now.

Re: A Secret World

I must apologize deeply for the rather long unexplained absence on my part. I should of mentioned it sooner when I had the chance.

Due to work having given me a rather inconveniently timed schedule on top of real life events eating up any time I had near the computer in between work I haven't had much of a chance to write anything recently.

Another thing was that I was giving CJL's triple post some time since I was wondering if there was going to be some editing happening which would require me to change my post or something along those lines. Hence, I didn't prioritize this post as highly in my latest run of stuff I needed to do that wasn't life or work.

I have more free time currently so I'll be more active. Again, apologies for the delay on top of everything else.

Re: A Secret World

Before I post I must ask, is this still alive or are you guys just waiting on me and Zalgo?

Re: A Secret World

sorry guys, my internet's been down for a few days, I'll get my post in as soon as I can.

Re: A Secret World

Hey GM, would you mind deleting the two duplicate posts that went up? I don't know how it happened, but it looks like the website threw up the same post 3 times.

Pretty embarrassing. That's what happens when you try to post when the website isn't working properly. D:

Re: A Secret World

Well, fire breathing is pretty awesome.

Re: A Secret World

Speaking of coincidences, Jason and Shino both saw a different set of powers for the first time. Their reactions are completely different.

Jason: *Sees a small glimpse of power* "OH GOD DATS AMAZIN'."

Shino: *Sees fancy Shadow Manipulation* "Eh. That's pretty cool."

Re: A Secret World

Funny... Jace is an actual thief and Shino has been implicated as a thief. Talk about coincidence.

Re: A Secret World

Hey, I hope everyone's doing well. :D

Just as a heads up, I may not be able to post until much later today or tomorrow since I'll be busy. Keep it up everyone, you guys are awesome.
