She heads to the bathroom to take a quick shower just to get all the salt water out of her hair. She uses a lot more conditioner than she should just to get those stupid tangles out. After about five mintues she heads to her room and sees the outfit her mom left out for her. She rolls her eyes and scoots it over as she looks for an out fit to wear. She picks out an outfit and lets her hair air dry as she puts it in a ponytail to keep it from getting her back so wet. She grabs her bag, earbuds, and iphone and heads into the kitchen looking for her parents. "Mom?Dad?" She saids as she sees a note on the counter.
Angelica, Went to the party early. Put on the outfit we left for you.
Don't be too late and disrespectful. The BarBQ is out the hose with the big fire.
Mom and Dad
She rolls her eyes at the note as she heads to Dillan's cabin seing her parents she exhales and heads to them not seeing anyone else she notice.

Blair and Alex,
Headed to the party, donât be too long,
Love Mom x
The note sat with another that was signed from Blair saying she had already left. Alex quickly ran up the stairs and washed her face, knowing her parents wouldnât be too happy about her tardiness. After washing her face she ran her fingers through her already straightened hair, and pulled out a few things to wear, and slid on her comfy lifeguarding hoodie to protect her from the cool breeze. She wasnât sure what she was supposed to wear, or how casual she should dress, but if it were a little less casual she could just take her sweater off.
Alex ran back down that stairs and out the doors carrying her flip flops in hand. She ran down to the house with the fire going and saw all the people she had seen on the beach a little earlier: Jellie with her parents, Blair talking to the man who invited us, her parents visiting with what seemed to be the other parents, and the two guys she noticed earlier sitting around the fire. She slipped on her shoes and waved at Jellie and Blair, avoiding her parents glares for being late. She then walked towards the fire and sat down figuring she might as well meet the other two and possibly figure out where she knew them from. âHey.â She stuck her hands into the pocket of her hoodie.
Dillan welcomed all the parents that showed up, giving them a seat and being the polite son of the hosts. He didn't seem to recognize any of them really, he could tell a few trying to place a name to his face. "My name is Dillan, my parents are up in the cabin prepping the food. They should be down shortly, just make yourselves at home." He nodded as he buttoned up his flannel shirt, trying to be more decent and not 'show off' his body with the wind blowing the shirt back. The attire was extremely casual beach where. He was just some slightly baggy swim trunks, flip flops, a half buttoned up flannel and a straw cowboy hat. Dillan looked up to see Jellie approach the group, just mentally acknowledging someone around his age. His mother walked over, and brought the drinks to everyone's delight who then went back to bring the non-alcoholic drinks. Everyone was free to help themselves, so he stepped back and was greeted by Alex. "Hey.
He looked to the girl straight in the face, and nodded. "Hey, how's it goin. I'm Dillan.." His accent rolled out, making him stick out compared to everyone else who wasn't from 'his part of the country'. He allowed for Lucas to introduce himself as well. He looked to the stereo seeing as it was still playing country, and sighed walking over changing the tunes to just a complete mix of everything. Except like, electronic, metal, and hardcore rap or hip-hop. He felt that kind of music, wasn't very good to play when first meeting someone. Especially a large group of people whom you've never met before.... Or thought you've never met before.

She greeted Jellie with a warm smile also before turning to Dillan "Hey I'm Blair" she introduced herself, holding out her hand "I was just over there speaking to your parents" she smiled "They are lovely people." Seeing the cooler that Dillan's mom was talking about she grabbed herself a nice cool beer, knowing her parents wouldn't mind, looking around she smiled "This is great, I've not been here in so long, so I hardly remember anyone" she laughed lightly.
Once upstairs in his room he throw off his clothes and hopped in the shower he knew he wasn't dirty but he wasn't giving his mother anything to fuss about so he took a quick ten minute shower. When he was done he looked for a new changed of clothes to put on seeing as the barbecue was on the beach he decided to dress to dress in something more simple than what he had originally planned. It took him a couple of minutes but in time he found something to throw on, getting dressed in the outfit he threw the clothes he had worn earlier in the hamper and left the room.
Returning to the beach moments later he noticed the adults starting to show up, as soon as he got to the beach he saw his mother checking out his outfit from a distance she gave her nod of approval and Lucas nodded back with a soft smile happy that he had succeed. He walked back to were he was sitting earlier with Dillan "And Lucas is back" he said reclaiming his seat. A couple of minutes after his return two girls walked over to were the two guys were sitting by the fire and sat down âHeyâ one of them said. As Dillan introduce himself Lucas looked over both girls noticing them from earlier their faces still felt familiar to him. Once Dillan had went through his introduction Lucas decide to introduce himself as Dillan got up to change up the music. "Nice to meet you guys am Lucas" he said with a friendly smile. The last girl of the group joined them after Lucas had finished his introduction and she introduced herself "Hey I'm Blair" Lucas nodded and smiled "Lucas" he said simply with a smile.
âYeah, itâs been a while since weâve been here. I forgot how beautiful it is. What about you guys, how often do you usually come here?â She looked around at the others.

"Sug, button up..." His mother quietly mentioned, which took Dillan by surprise but he followed her orders and became more decent now adjusting more than simply three buttons to keep his shirt closed around his torso. He quirked his lips, into a smirk as his mother stepped away giggling softly moving to formally meet the other parents around the fire and began to hand drinks out and talk. It had turned out to be a lovely evening.

After getting a very long, very boring leture about being respectful she decides to go meet the guys Blair and Alex are talking to. She walks up messing with her nails, always being nervous around guys. She smiles and decides to speak. "Hey guys. Oh hi, i'm Jellie and you two are?" she asks as she looks at the two guys hoping that it not as awkward for them as it was for her. I mean you don't see a girl with pink hair and say "hi" to you everyday of your life.
I swear I have seen both of them somewhere before! She thinks as she waits for the guys to speak.

Looking around the party she saw her parents wave over, giving them a small wave back she sipped her beer and walked to the edge of the decking looking out to the ocean, she loved the ocean, she really did and couldn't to go surfing tomorrow.
"Alright ya'll, the food's ready! Come'n get it!" His father exclaimed with a wide grin, placing the food in heat retaining containers for everybody to serve up from. There was a table with paper plates, plastic utensils, dressings, salad, condiments. Everything you'd expect to have at a barbecue. Now, it was time to have some fun!
When she had walked away Lucas turned his attention back to the group. He was about to answer Alex's question when the last girl from the earlier joined the party. As she walks up to the group she seemed nervous but she is smiling and as she got closer all he got could notice was her bright pink hair, "Hey guys. Oh hi, i'm Jellie and you two are?" she asks looking at him and Dillan. After Dillan shaking her hand and introducing himself Lucas introduced himself "Am Lucas, nice to meet you Jellie". He pauses grabbing a soda out of the cooler he opens the can and drinks. After quenching his thirst he looked around the group "Now that I think about it the last time I was here I was fifteen which happens to be three years old. Weird" he said. "Alright ya'll, the food's ready! Come'n get it!" with the announcement of ready food Lucas got up drinking more of his soda "Time to eat" he said happily he couldn't wait to see how these southerns could throw down.
"Alright ya'll, the food's ready! Come'n get it!" She heard Dillans father yell out to them, feeling relieved as her stomach began to growl. Alex walked up to the table and grabbed a plate and her utensils. As her parents came up behind her she looked up at them as they rolled their eyes at all the food she took. A little bit of everything, or at least most things. It had been breakfast since she last ate or drank anything, so food was all she could think about. Alex smiled at her parents and rushed towards the cooler to grab a drink. She grabbed a bottle of water to first eliminate her thirst, so she could enjoy whatever she had later on.
After grabbing a napkin she had forgotten at the table, she went and sat down, carefully separating all of the food on her plate from each other.
âThis is delicious.â She smiled at Dillanâs father, and then looked towards the others.
Dillan waited as well, being a good host finally getting his food. He served up a good portion of food for himself and sat down with a smile grabbing a bottle of water. "Yeah, this looks great pop!" He unwrapped his foil wrapped corn and took a bite smiling softly. He looked to see if everyone was enjoying themselves. He ate some brisket, and got a scoop of salad. He was hungry, but far from famished.

Hearing those words Blair turned quickly on her heels, she couldn't actually remember the last time she had eaten that day and so her stomach growled loudly at the sight of all the meat, she was in absolute heaven. "Oh wow, your dad really know's how to barbecue!" Blair stated to Dillan with a small laugh. Grabbing a plate a knife and fork she began piling food onto her plate, chicken wings, brisket, hot dogs and shrimp. Using the utensils to put a little bit of salad onto her plate, not too much, she really wasn't a salad type girl, she ate what she wanted just burned it off the next day at the gym or with a run, it was the best way, she thought.
Sitting down at the table next to Alex she tucked into her food, feeling it literally melt into her "damn that's good" she said with a slight groan "Thank Dillian's dad could give ours a lesson on how to BBQ?" she laughed lightly to Alex.

Jellie hears Dillian's dad say. "Mm,wow." she saids as she walks to the table hearing her stomach groan not eatting all day. She grabs a plates and grabs two shrimp on skewers and tries a few chicken wings. She grabs the utensils to get a lot of salad. She goes to sit next to Blair and Alex. She smiles as she sits down. After a few seconds she takes a small bit of the chicken. "Mm,wow his dad really knows how to barbeque." She saids after letting out a mmm. "That is really good." She comments as she eats a few bits of her salad.

Nevertheless, it wasnât Xavâs job to care what his father thought. Itâs not like he had in the past few years, not with mom gone. He hadnât even said good-bye. The blue-eyed boy sighed and rested his forehead against the steering wheel of the convertible. A gentle breeze made his short hair tickle the back of his neck. His lids fell until his eyes were slit like a catâs, before he finally relaxed his muscles and closed them. His hands, knuckles white from gripping the steering wheel so hard, fell into his lap.
White poinsettias, a bundle of them, had been in those hands not too long ago. In his mind, Xavier saw his motherâs name carved into stone. He watched his hands lay down the flowers on the grave. One of the petals bent underneath the weight of a single tear that had fallen from Xavâs cheek. A few murmured apologies to his mother for the inevitable and Xavier had left. Lilly wouldnât have wanted the boy to visit her grave; sheâd made that clear before her death: Now I donâ wanna see you mopinâ âround my grave like some lonely school boy, ya hear? When Iâm gone, I wan you ta leave me alone, Xavvy. Iâve had enough oâ you already. I donât needa be bothered by ya when Iâm dead too.
The thought of Lilly and her last few words made Xavier chuckle to himself. He picked his head up off the steering wheel and undid his seatbelt. He didnât bother opening the door, only slid out of the convertible. His dadâs face appeared in the window and he saw a scowl at Xavierâs arrogant display, to which Xavier only grinned.
âI think the neighbors are having a barbecue.â Xavierâs nose twitched, but he didnât reply to his fatherâs statement. He hefted the backpack strap higher up on his shoulder from where it kept slipping and raised one brow. Xavâs fatherâs scowl deepened. Xavier hid his smirk with a cough. âI think you should go introduce yourself.â
âWell, since when do I care what you think, Roy,â Xavier said and shouldered his way past his father.
âIf youâre going to be an ass, get out of the house.â
âAlready planning on it,â Xavier shot back and grinned back over his shoulder. âBut if youâll excuse me, Iâm going to set my stuff down in my room first. Adios.â With that, Xavier walked down the rest of the hall and tried not to look like a lost idiot. Luckily the stairs werenât too hard to find. He turned and jogged up the flight, leaving his back to the kitchen, and namely to his father, who had gone to make some coffee. âProbably going to spike it with some whiskey,â Xav muttered to himself.
There were two rooms upstairs. One didnât have a door and Xavier poked his head in to see their living room couch set up in front of a flat screen TV. Alright. The boy continued on until he reached another door. This one he opened and was met with a fairly nice sized bedroom. The best part was definitely the back wall, or rather, the back of the room that was almost entirely made up of windows. The frames were visible against the edge of the wall and Xavier smiled to himself as he tossed his bag on his bed.
Instead of speaking to the silence, Xavier made his way over to the glass. He placed a hand on the window and was surprised to find that it was unlatched. The glass window opened up and Xav knelt down and propped his elbows up on the frame. He let his chin fall into his palms and looked out at the water.
His attention was soon drawn over to his left, where his neighbors were indeed barbecuing. His intense blue eyes landed immediately on the three girls that were there. âMaybe going to that barbecue wouldnât be so bad after all,â he said as he eyed one of the blondes. âDamn, I hope theyâre my neighbors.â Deciding he didnât want to be caught staring, he continued to look out at the water.
Roy walked out onto the back porch and Xavierâs smile fell away to a bored frown. His father tilted his head back and looked up at his son before grinning widely at the neighbors. The man raised his arm up and waved at them. âHey neighbors. We just moved in. Iâm Roy and thatâs my son, Xavier. Nice to meet you,â he said cheerily. Xavier swallowed back the bitterness that had accumulated on his tongue. His father was a nice guy, he really was; he just wasnât good with family. Not that Xav gave him a chance, anyway.
So Xavier ran his fingers through his raven black hair and gave the partygoers a half-smile, and one flick of his wrist as a wave.

Dillan looked around seeing what looked like the two sisters (Blair and Alexandra) eating side by side, with Jellie sitting close by. He stood up. "Anybody want a drink?" He slowly made his way to get a bottle of water, when he looked up seeing a man waving at them. âHey neighbors. We just moved in. Iâm Roy and thatâs my son, Xavier. Nice to meet you."
"It's good to meet you too sir.... You're welcome to over and eat if you like." Dillan rose his hand saying hello, looking up at the both of them being his polite self. He was a disciplined individual, just how the Corps trained him to be. <Their cabin looks more like a house.... Do they live here?> He honestly wouldn't be surprised, him and his folks use to just come here every summer. But this island did hold 6,000 people, and beach front property was always popular. "Oh yeah, feel free! There's still plenty of food and drinks left.." Dillan's father chimed in generously.

She starts to feel blisters on her feet from wear the sandles too long. "Ow ow ow, ok i'm taking these off." She commetns as she squats on the sand undoing the straps on her sandels. She takes them off and holds them by the straps in her right hand. She starts to walks to her house. She walks in the front door and goes to her room. Getting attacked by her dog. "Ah,Pete! Get off." She complains shooing him away. "Wait a minute. You want to go on a walk, don't you fella?" she asks as she puts her bulldog in her arms. They walk to the kitchen to get the red and white leash. She puts him down and puts the leash on his collar.
They walk out the front door going down the beach. She notices a man on his back porch. She looks up and sees a second story. "Wow,now that's a cabin." She saids to herself as she feels Pete's leash get out of her grip. "No! Pete, come back here!" She yells running to catch him. She groans. "Come on,cut me a break,Pete!" She tells her dog knowing he can't understand her. She stops for a second to gain her breath before continuing to run in a big circle to catch her dog. She can feel the sand going in her bare feet forgetting her sandels inside their cabin.
She almosts gets her just as he tricks her and runs into the water. "No! Pete." She yells as she runs in the water forgetting that she was wear her favorite dress. She grabs Pete, who was wimpering and trying to stay above the water. She pulls her heavy dog to shore and holds him in her arms. "Don't ever do that again." She saids to him feeling him tremble in fear. She huffs and puffs trying to ragain her breath. She just sits him on the sand and sits next to him. "And I thought I would get to relax." She complains to herself patting Pete on the head
"Guys,i'll see you later. I'm just going to relax at home." Jellie got up from the table. âSee you later!â Alex smiled again as Jellie excused herself, and then walked down the beach.
âAnybody want a drink?â She heard Dillan ask as he got up after her to grab a bottle of water. âIâm good thanks.â She replied, then taking a long pull of her water. She puts the lid back onto the bottle just as two people, a man and a boy about her age, walk up to the house.
âHey neighbours. We just moved in. Iâm Roy and thatâs my son, Xavier. Nice to meet you.â Alex smiled and waved at the two as her parents went over to the newcomers after placing their garbage in the trash.
âIâm Alex.â She said before their parents began socializing.

Pushing away the past, Xavier shrugged off his father's hand that had rested on his shoulder. Roy only sighed and pointed out toward the back door. When Xavier turned, his father followed right behind him and the pair went off to greet the new neighbors. Though Xavier's lips did pick up immediately and his back straightened out from where he'd slouched when he saw the blonde he'd spotted from earlier walk up to them, along with her parents. Damn, she was even more beautiful up close. Thoughts found only in an older teenage boy's mind ran through his head and he resisted the urge to really check her out. He didn't want to offend her parents.
"Hey, Alex. As Ro--my father introduced me before, I'm Xavier Skye." Now if her parents hadn't been there, he probably would have tagged a comment along with that which would have concerned how sexy he found her, or if he'd really felt in the mood, would have made a move on her. Though at the thought of such things, Xavier felt a pang of regret and a feeling of guilt wash through him. It surprised him. A girl had never gotten that kind of reaction out of him before. He blinked and held out a hand.
Lucas devoured his plate of food he was starving earlier but now he could eat no more. He put a hand on his full stomach and sighed happily "That was great" he said looking at his parents, his mom was talking with Alex and Blair's parents and his dad was consternating with Jellie's. "Anybody want a drink?" Lucas looked at Dillan who was getting up to go get drink he shook his head "Nah, I am good" he said patting his full stomach. As Dillan walked away a man and his son approached the barbeque Lucas didn't hear what was said but he could tell the son was around his age. He looked at Alex as she got up and went to introduce herself to the new faces Lucas looked the kid over from a distance he had never met the guy a day in his life and he really didn't feel like doing the whole introduction thing again. Jellie finishes her food and throws her trash away. Coming back she sits down for a minute then says "Guys,i'll see you later. I'm just going to relax at home." She saids walking away and waving good-bye "Catch you later Jellie" Lucas shout to her as she walked away then he grabbed his garbage and went to throw it out.

Dillan looked around, seeing his parents talk to Jellie's the both of them glancing at him. He sighed knowing that they were doing what parents did and talked about their kids. His folks by now, had come to realize that these were the same people they met every year and were quite excited. They were telling everything, what they had been up to, what he had been up to and just stories. But he knew sooner or later, the reason why they were here was going to pop up. He wasn't looking forward to having to explain himself and open up that can of worms for everybody.

"Ok,Pete.Let's roll." She saids before wistling him to the front door. She grabs his leash and they start to walk back to Dillian's party. She walks up and sees her parents talking to Dillan's parents. They wave her over. She rolls her eyes and walks beside her controling parents. "This is our daughter,Angelica. These are Dillan's parents,we saw you,him and a couple other teenagers talking." Jellie mother saids. GAH,I hate my name!!!!! She thinks to herself as she smiles and shakes their hands. "Nice to meet you. Mom,Pete wanted to go for a walk so i'm just going to walk around the party, nowhere to far." Jellie insures her mother trying not to lose grip on the leash. "Go head,Sweetie." Her mom and dad say at the same time. She smiles and walks away. She rolls her eyes and undoes Pete's leash. "Go nuts, buddy. You're free!" She saids as she sees her dog chase after some birds. She chuckles as she stands and watches him trying to kill the bird knowing he couldn't catch them,he was to "soft". So she just watched him have a good time. "Man,I wish I was a dog." She saids to herself with her arms crossed around her chest and a smile on her face.

His parents looked over to him, with Jellie's and had a wary look. The topic of his deployment came up, basically telling his story to them. It wouldn't be the first time, seeing as Dillan had some..... Issues, that the other kids would need to no about as to not cause any distress on his part. But there was a reason why his back was facing away from everybody. Dillan was positioned at the end of the table so that no one could be or walk up behind him, just a habit he picked up from deploying.
