Introduction

This is an attempted revival of a previously dormant RP. I currently have a discord group going for this roleplay. Characters will require review before being accepted in into the game. If you're interested in joining please pm me for an invite. It'll be easier for me to explain this mess that way ^^;;

STILL ACCEPTING, 2 slots available!

Creation
Spanning A world of splendor and majesty. Of horror and conflict. Forged by Primordial's vast beyond comprehension. Maintained by Gods glorious in their divinity. Besieged by the Fair Folk capacious and mad as the Wyld that spawned them. Plotted against by Demons bitter in their defeat. Undermined by Ghost vengeful in their deaths.

And defended by Exalted legendary in their deeds!

In the beginning there was the wyld, an endless and formless sea of unshaped and raw essence that churned and twisted in an unending tide of madness with out cause or function. Then from the wyld came the primordial's, the first of all shaped beings. So immense were these beings that each of their bodies was a world unto itself. And their existence housed such great spirits that they each possessed not one soul but in fact a multitude to define their form, with these souls each possessing a cadre of lesser souls of their own. At the primordial's coming, around them would swim the Rashaka, which mortal men would come to call the fair folk out of fear. The fair folk were appalled by the primordial's, for their defined forms polluted the purity of the wyld's chaos. In their outrage they made war upon the primordial's, seeking to destroy all shaped things. A war that would continue even onto this very day.

The primordial's would tire of these quarrels with fair folk and desired a shelter for themselves to wait out the eternal storm of chaos. And so they reached out to take hold of the shifting strands of essence around them and wove it into a new shape and from their labors sprain Creation, and to maintain their Creation so that the wyld's currents would not erode it back into madness the primordial crafted the Gods. After these mighty spirits were constructed the Primordials then made mortals, who's prayer's and worship would provide quintessence and ambrosia which the gods craved, and they made mortals weak so that they would depend upon the gods who in turn would have incentive to do their duties to ensure mortal survival and the continued devotion that came from them.

With their labors complete an themselves satisfied with what they had constructed the primordial's sat down to play their games. But all would not be well for long, as the Primordial's would prove to be callous and neglectful slave masters. As many mortals and gods suffered it would not be long before the Unconcerned Sun, mightiest of the gods, would suggest to his fellows the overthrow of their creators. But the Primordial's had foreseen this possibility and laid upon the gods a Geas in their creation that denied them the right to raise a hand against their makers. But this Geas did not apply to mortals, for because they had been made frail the primordial's were certain that nothing mortal could ever harm them.

Seeing this folly the gods came with a plan. They would take the greatest of mortal champions and empower them with a fragment of the god's own divine spark. And from this act these champions became the Exalted, demi-gods chosen of the Incarnae. They were the Solars, chosen of the Unconquered Sun, named Lawgivers and leaders of the exalted host. They were the Lunars, chosen of Luna, named Consorts of the Solars and their prime warlords. They were the Sidereals, chosen of the five maidens of fate, named Viziers and advisers. And they were the Terrestrials, chosen of the Five elemental dragons, named Dragon Blooded and most numerous of the exalted host.

With the backing of the gods behind an them the exalted did battle with the primordial in a cataclysmic war that shook Creation. An uncountable number of lives were lost and many things that once graced the world were lost, never to be made again, but in time the long battle came to an end and the exalted stood victorious. At the request for mercy by Gaia and Autochthon, the only two primordial's to side with the gods against their siblings, the exalted sealed those primordial that surrendered away in a prison made from the flesh of their own king malfeas, whom they turned inside out to imprison within his own skin.

This act done and their makers banished, the gods granted rulership over the mortal world whilst the divines to residence in heaven. Under the leadership of the exalted, creation would enter a new golden age of wonder fulled by great works of sorcery and just leadership. This was the first age of the world and all knew properity in its time. All was not well though, for those primordials that had been slain during the fighting found their souls to vast and to complicated to pass into the wheel of reincarnation. Never designed to handle it's makers deaths, this celestial devise was damaged by their demise and the slain titan's souls fell into a dark abyss that formed around them as they became the Neverborn, beings that lie eternally dying. From their tomes in this new underworld the Neverborn spitefully cursed the exalted that had slain them. This curse slowly wormed it's way into the hearts of the exalted, where it festered and worked to corrupt them.

Most heavily did this curse effect the solars who's virtues turned to vice. The once just lawgivers slowly fell into paranoia, greed, vanity and cruelty. Were once they used their magics to aid their subjects they then used them to wreak such terribly torments in their growing madness. In the face of their leaders growing madness the sidereals concocted a plan. They whispered secret thoughts of rebellion into the minds of the dragon blooded whom had already grown disgruntled in their service to the solars. Embolden by their puppet masters the dragon blooded rose up in a bloody uprising known as the Usurpation, murdering their solar masters and driving their lunar mates towards the edges of creation where the wyld lapped at it's shores. To prevent their solars reincarnation and forestall an eternal war the sidereals sealed their souls in a prison of magical jade and sank it beneath the inland sea before using their magic's to erase all memory of themselves from the world. With none left to oppose them the dragon blooded established a shogunate in place of the old solar deliberative and again the world knew peace if only in a lessened state. In time the dragon blooded found themselves unequal to the task of maintaining the sorcerous wounder of the first age, many of which required solar magics to maintain or function. Eventually dragon blood would fight dragon blood over the dwindling magical resources of the first age, only periodically uniting under a strong shogun until the next succession crises split them into civil war once again.

In the shadows of the underworld the Neverborn were not silent either. When the solars had been slain some of their ghost had passed through the underworld. The Neverborn came to them with offers to regain their lost powers and a chance of revenge against their murders. Free from the corrupting influence of the Great curse in their deaths all save thirteen of the solar ghost refused. Those that accepted became the deathlords, powerful undead servants who established dominion over the underworld in their master's name. When the dragon blooded fell into infighting the deathlords saw their chance. Using terrible dark arts they conjured a horrible disease known only as the great contagion and set it loose upon creation where it swept across the land slaying nine out of every ten living things it touched. Then they gave word to fair folk beyond creations shores and informed them of the living worlds weakened state. Taking the chance given to them the Rashaka launched a great crusade against the world and ravaged creation destroying much of it as they went. In the final moments before the worlds doom, one young ragon blooded officer braved the magical defenses ancient fortress of the old solar deliberative. There in she found a mighty super weapon known as the sword of creation which she activated to rain destruction on the fair folk armies and route them from creation.

With the forces of madness in full retreat this woman crowned herself empress of the blessed isle and wielded the power of the fortesses weapon to force adherence to her rule. A cult known as the Immaculate order who praised the dragon blooded for their defeat over the 'Solar Anathema' proclaimed her a messiah and legitimized her rule. Thus was founded the Realm and the beginning of the Second age. For seven and a half centuries the Scarlet Empress has maintained her rule over the Realm. With the secret backing of the Sidereals Her nation has become the greatest of all the world, the one true remaining super power in creation with all other nations paying tribute to her save those rebellious few in the scavenger lands to the east. Once again the world knew an age of stability. Once again though, this would not last.

In Realm Year 763, during an inauspicious time of the year known as the calibration, the scarlet empress vanished without a trace. With know clear successor in line for the scarlet throne, the eleven great dynastic houses that claim familiar blood from her all find themselves piloting against one another as the realm faces what may be it's first civil war. At the edges of the wyld the Lunars smell the growing weakness of the realm and ambitiously plan their return to creation proper. Beyond these shore of creation, the fair folk stir. And in underworld the Deathlords have gain decided to tip their hands. First they sent their own servants to find the jade prison and smash it open to steal the shards of solar essence, and harvest it for their own uses. With these shards they have forged a new breed of exalted, the Abyssal exalted, chosen of oblivion, the Deathknights and servants of the Neverborn. The Deathlord known as Mask of Winters was first to put these new servants to use, sacking the city of Thorns and establishing a foot hold in the living world.

All is not lost in this final moment however, as the servants on the Deathlord's were only successful in acquiring half of the solar shards in their theft. The rest escaped their clutches and fled to find new host worthy of their power. For the first time in thousands of years, solar exalted are once again being born in the world.

You are one of these exalted. Born into a Time of Tumult. Great deeds and great trials await for you. What tales will you write for the future?

Okay, seriously, what the hell is this?

Spoiler: show
Hey there! If your reading this you've either stumbled upon or are an actively returning member to a revival of my Exalted Roleplay. What is Exalted you ask? it is a series of Pen and Paper Table top Role Playing games by White Wolf publishing. It's a setting based more heavily on classical Greek and Chinse mythologies rather than the standard medieval fantasy of works inspired by Tolkeins lord of the rings. The players take on the roles of beings called 'The Exalted' (some times referred to more simply as Exalts or Chosen, or more eloquently as The Princes/Princesses of the Earth) who are mortals that have had a shard of divine essence grafted onto their souls after attracting the attention of a higher power, transforming them into Demigods with the freedom to reshape their own fates and the fate of the world around them. They adventure through the world of Creation, a flat disk world created by ancient titans as a shelter against the storm of infinite chaos, known as the wyld, that rages beyond it's borders. Creation is a fantastical, if dangerous, world full of magic, spirits and wonderous artifacts of a bygone age. The exalted are nominally the rulers of creation by a divine mandate that charges them with it's defense against threats both external and internal, though ancient rivalry's and conflicting ideologies still grant them plenty of excuse to quarrel amongst themselves.

This story roleplay will follow the exploits of one such group of exalted as they come together by happenstance and go on to carve out their own place in this wide and wonderful world. Facing adversity from the different great powers of the world and embarking on extraordinary adventures (and Misadventures) through the breathtaking and bizarre places of it's universe.

This Roelplay in particular will use a rules-lite version of white wolfs own rpg, with the characters being assigned stats to their character sheets and roll dice on those stats as called for. The game however will be focused on narrative and fun, rather than mechanics and number crunching, to let the players run a bit wild on their shenanigan's as demigods and explore themes of power and responsibility in a reactive world.

The starter plot

For you it was an odd occurrence. Not impossible, for you may have seen many strange things since you exalted, but still you found yourself put off by the sight of a crystal winged Osprey bird descending towards you in the night. Clasped in it's beak was an elegantly bound scroll inscribed with your name. Curiosity and courtesy bid you to open the spirits message, and within written in silver ink you read these words.

Honored Exalted
Your presence is requested at the spire of Fakharu, Censor of the Celestial Buracracy and Dragon of Water, for a matter of personal interest. We have heard of your previous exploits and beleive you may help us in a mater most dire. If you will listen to our petition then journey to the nearest sea shore. A ship will be there at the sunset of your arrival and bare you to your destination.

Just as the letter had stated, when you approach the sea at twilight, you find a ship built of ivory awaiting for you with no crew and piloting itself under it's own mysterious power. As you sit aboard it takes to the sea and disappears into mist and reappears at an entirely new port where you find another holding the same letter as you. Slowly as the night moves on the boat acquires more passengers one by one as it makes it's way westward with supernatural speed.

The truth of the matter is this. In the Great western ocean a trio of siren sisters have long suffered in servitude under a storm mother named Sikunare. Eventually freed of her, they sought vengeance for her cruelty during their tenure under her care. As it just so happens, they learn that the Western Celestial Censor Fakharu, a lesser elemental dragon of water, had fallen in love with a mortal woman named Amarel and taken her to be his mistress. Knowing they lack the power or support to threaten Sikunare on their own, they kidnap Amarel in order to blackmail Fakharu into starting a conflict with the storm mother.

The demands are simple, use his position as Celestial Censor to arrest Sikunare on whatever charges, real or imagined, and ensure her downfall. This is an impossible request for Fakharu however, for Sikunare holds a few debts Fakharu owes to her due to their own past dealings. More dearly though, for friendship could be forgotten in if need be, the storm mother has powerful friends in the Celestial Bureaucracy of Heaven, some equal in rank to Fakharu himself. Knowing that she could use secrets that she had gleaned from his time with her against him if he pressed charges, the censor finds his ability to comply with the Siren's demands difficult and dangerous to try. Therefor in desperation, Fakharu sends out a call for you, and number of other scattered exalted, hoping to secure your aid in finding the siren's hiding place and rescuing his lover before the 28 day deadline approaches.

Rules under construction

There is a bit of rework going into the new version of this Rp. An older version of the rules can be found here, which will be mostly the same but with some minor tweaks and expansions on previously discussed materials in the discord. Expect some changes occasional changes to this section through out the first and second week.

The rules for character creation are currently embedded inside of the character sheet.

As for the actual rules of the roleplay itself I will split into Magic and Combat Rules, Character Advancement Rules, and General rules.

Charm use, Essence, Damage and Recovery, and Combos

Charms are the primary power used by the exalted, and each is a technique that allows them to preform super natural feats. In general when using charms you're character is limited to one charm per post, unless it is part of a combo (more on that later). All charms cost essence motes from your essence pool, which will be listed on your character sheet. More powerful charms may also cost points from your willpower pool or health pool. All Charms should be listed with a essence cost, a stat attached that charm and a description of what it does.

Generally there are two factor's that determine a Charm's strength. The first is the amount of essence used to power the Charm. The more essence pumped into the Charm the stronger it's effect and the higher the likeliness of the exalt to succeed at what they are attempting. There is a hard limit on how much essence a character can use for one charm, which can be no greater than the relevant ability/attribute that govern's it. Further more you must master a charm of a lower essence cost before you can master one of a high cost in the same stat.

The other factor governing Charm strength is how long that last. Charms have an activation length on them, depending on what they do. Generally speaking, the charms that have a shorter duration will have more concentrated power in it's use the have greater impact that those will a longer duration. For example an athletics charm with a duration of 'one action/instant' will allow the exalt to leap across a river in a single bound, while one with with a length of 'one scene' will merely allow them to run atop the water unimpeded by it's current. Some specific charms may remain active indefinitely via 'committing' essence, effectively reducing the exalt's maximum essence pool until the charm is deactivated. Charms don't stack with other charms unless specified. Charms never stack with themselves. You can't use a Charm twice for twice the effect.

Charm lengths are: Instant, (#) of actions/post, one scene, one day, or until released.

Charm Combos are a specialized trump card that allows the exalt to activate some charms in rapid succession, a trick unique to them alone. Combo however have a high cost as not only must the exalt pay the essence/willpower cost of each charm in the combo, the exalt must also pay an extra 1 mote surcharge per charm that is part of it. When activating a combo the exalt must activate the ALL the charms that are part of it or the combo will automatically fail. You may not begin play knowing a charm combo, but may develop them as the game goes on.

Artifacts are magical devises or pieces of equipment with unique properties. The most common type of artifact's are made of the five magical metals, which each correspond to one of the exalted types. Any exalt can utilize these tools, but if they make use of one made from the magical metal that resonates with their specific type reduces the cost of activation/attunemeant by 1, to a minimum of 0. More of this will be explained elsewhere.

Sorcery/Necromancy, a dangerous but powerful tool in the exalted's arsenal. The you must decide at the start of play if your character is a sorcerer in order to use it, though it is possible for your character to learn the skill later on if you desire. Sorcery allows the exalted to work magic outside the themes of their caste type and aren't governed under the rules of charms, effecting the environment around them rather than worked through the exalts body, and in general is much more powerful than charms in their effects. The cost for this is that sorcery in general is also vastly more expensive to activate than charms and takes longer to activate, and if the sorcerer is interrupted in their casting it can have catastrophic results.

-Terrestrial Circle
The highest level that dragon blooded may learn. Though it is the most limited in scope it only a fool would soft at it for spells of this level are the fastest to cast and thus the most reliable sorcery to use in combat. Spells from this circle take two post to activate (if in combat). One to start the incantation, and the second to deploy it's power. In order to activate a sorcery the exalt must pay the essence cost plus one point of willpower.
Spells of this level can: Effect an area the size of a large house or manor, create mundane objects of non precious material in small quantities, summon demons of the first circle through an extended ritual at night, and lay a curse/blessing upon someone who is either in range or the sorcerer has a personal object belonging to that person.

-Celestial Circle
The highest level Sidereal's and lunar's. Abyssal's may use magic of this level as well but can go no further. More potent in it's effect's than the terrestrial circle at the cost of being more costly and complex to cast. Spells of this circle requires three post to be cast (if in combat), one to start the incantation, a second to bind the energies, and a third to deploy the magic. The exalt must pay the essence cost plus 2 points of willpower to activate this magic.
Spells of this level can: Effect an area the size of a village, Create mundane object's in large quantities of non precious-materials or small quantities of precious materials, summon a demon of the second circle through an extended ritual on the night of the no moon, or create temporary objects of lesser magic that will fade after a month.

-Solar Circle
The highest level of Spell casting, limited solely to use by the solar exalted. Magic of this level can be world shaking, but is highly focus intensive in it's casting and exhausting in it's essence cost. It requires four post to activate spells of this level in combat. One to begin the incantation, a second to draw upon the vast energies to power the spell, a third to bind that energy, and finally a fourth to deploy that magic. It requires 3 points of willpower along with a large amount of essence to activate spells of this level.
Spells of this circle can: Effect an area the size of a city, Create Mundane object's in a vast hordes if made of non-precious materials or large quantities of precious materials, summon a demon of the third circle through an extended ritual on the starless night of calibration, and create object's of lesser power that can last for a year or object's of greater power that last for a week.

There is a flip side to sorcery though. A dark rival that equal's it in power that was born of the abyss of the underworld. Necromancy, while not innately evil, is an unnatural mimicry of sorcery. While sorcery has the power to create and alter, Necromancy has the power to destroy and corrupt. More on this later once I have time

ANIMA BANNER
Each exalt has what is known as an 'anima banner', a totemic icon that represents an aspect of their soul. The Anima banner starts out invisible and immaterial, but as the exalt burns mores of peripheral essence it grows in intensity and becomes increasingly visible. This image remains so for a long time fading at a rate of one stage per scene (or or every 10-15 minutes) with the exception of the first and final stages
 1. 1-2 motes spent: At this stage the Characters cast mark appears on their forehead for and glitters if it catches light allowing some to see it from certain angles. It is possible to hide this mark under head ware or wrappings and the character may act with stealth normally without penalty. This stage fades after one hour.
 2. 3-4 motes spent: The character's caste mark glows brightly and will shine through anything placed over it, and any who look at her face will find it impossible to mistake her for what she is.Stealth charms and other such magic's used to mute sensory impressions automatically fail, however the character may still use the natural environment to hide themselves, with slight difficulty. (Abyssal caste marks will instead start to bleed rather than glow)
 3. 5 motes spent: The exalt's body is surrounded by a coruscant aura bright enough to read by in the dark, and the caste mark is alight as a burning brand on their forehead. Stealth becomes impossible at this stage.
 4. 6 motes spent: The character is engulfed in a brilliant bonfire of Essence, which burns from his feet to at least a foot above their head. Objects exposed to solar anima's might become bleached or faded as if left in the sun for several days. Most vibrant are the Terrestrial anima's for theirs become physical conduits for their elemental aspect. While their personal effects are safe, as are other supernatural creatures like fellow exalted, anything in close proximity to the dragon blooded will be bombarded with destructive elemental energies. In each case the result is that the exalt is now visible for miles and their caste mark will become engraved in the minds of any who see it.
 5. 7 motes spent: At this stage the character is surrounded by a burning image totemic to his person- a warrior bight be surrounded by a grand and mighty bull, a magician by an elaborate mandala, and so on.This effects fades during any post the character makes that they do not spend essence bu leaps back into existence from the bonfire of their anima when they again spend peripheral motes.

Recovery
The exalted were created by the gods to be tireless warriors, able to undergo great stress and harm. However even their semi-divine bodies be strained by great forces. To that end the gods made sure to imbue the exalt flesh with a natural regenerative quality that can recover from all but the most sever maiming with out scaring.
 • Essence recovers at a rate on one mote per hour if the exalt is preforming low intensity activities, or two per hour if the exalt is taking time to rest.
 • Abyssal exalted recover essence differently as they can't naturally recover it while in the living world (on the flip side, only the can respire it normally in the underworld while non-abyssal can't). To circumvent this, they may drink the blood of the living to regain essence.
 • Health recovers at a rate of one hit point per two if they are receiving medical attention and bed rest. They can't regenerate limbs on their own, but bones will set themselves into place and gaping holes will slowly shrink. Mortal's take MUCH longer to heal and suffer complication's without medical assistance.
 • Willpower recovers at a rate of 1 per day, similar to health. The exalted may also earn back a point if they do something in line with their nature or motivation, such as a caretaker healing the sick.
 • Exalts are highly resistant to non magical diseases, with the worst they suffer being sore throats and slight sniffles.
 • Exalted flesh is incredibly tough. Even without the use of charms a completely naked exalt would find their skin resisting stab wounds about as well as a leather vest.

Character Advancement

Attributes cost [current score x5] xp. Or [current score x4] for Caste attributes of lunar's.

Abilities cost [current score x3] xp, except for cast/favored abilities. Those costing [(current score x3) -1].

Charms cost 10 xp, except for caste/favor-based charms which cost 8 xp.

Developing A combo cost 1 xp per charm that is part of the combo.

Raising your essence score cost [current score x8]

All Attributes start with one point in them, and are divided into categories of Physical, Social, and Mental. VIRTUES
(The four Virtues are core to your characters beliefs and desires. You draw strength from them when you set your self to a difficult task and give you motivation towards your goals, and they define you as a hero to the masses. But be warned, the higher the virtue the more difficult it is to ignore for the sake of pragmatism. Resist holding true towards your beliefs of right and wrong too often and you may just snap. Each virtue has one point in it, and you have five additional points to distribute how you choose, but non may go above five.  )
COMPASSION A measure of empathy and forgiveness. Characters with high compassion find strength in helping others but find it difficult to ignore another's plight.
TEMPERANCE is your self control and honesty. High temperance allows you to resist temptation or coercion, but leaves you troubled when you break oaths or tell lies.
CONVICTION  represent's how hardened the character is against hardship and stress. High conviction allows you to endure (and inflict) great pain and suffering, but makes it hard for you abandon a course of action or cause that you have committed yourself too, or admit when you are wrong.
VALOR measures you bravery and self confidence in the face of danger. High valor helps to resist fear or plunge into danger but makes it hard to ignore a challenge or insult, or flee from a foe.

LIMIT BREAK
(No, this not like final fantasy. The nature of the great curse the defeated primordial's placed upon their vanquishers periodically warps their virtue into twisted inversions in moments of great stress. When an exalt has been force to ignore his or her own principles one to many times they under go episode of madness in which the corruption of the primordial curse comes to the surface. When this 'snap' occurs the exalts primary virtue (the one that's ranked the highest or which ever one you prefer if they are of even rank) becomes compromised into either a twisted reflection of itself or inverted as a polar opposite of itself. The exalt is then forced to act in the terms of this new corrupted virtue until the effects of the curse finishes burning itself out. This effect can last anywhere from hours to DAYS. Though to avoid forcing too heavy a restriction on the player I'll put down a guide line that the character's break down should at least last until the end of the current scene, and after that it's up to the player to decide how long the episode will last.

Examples of Limit breaks are berserk rages, to uncontrollable crying, to a sudden bout of extreme apathy, paranoia, hedonism or whatever else you can come up with. Seriously, so long as it at least tangibly be attributed to a particular virtue in a corrupted state you can go nuts on the concept.)

MAGIC, GEAR AND TALENTS
Essence score: 2 (all exalt's start play at this level)
Health: 0/0 (your stamina stat+3, can be raised further with an endurance charm called ox body technique. Mortal's only get their stamina in health.)
Willpower pool: 0/0 (Equal to the sum total of your two highest virtues.)

Essence motes
The magic of the exalted in quantified as 'motes' which can be 'burnt' to power their charms. All exalted have two pools Personal and Peripheral. Personal essence can be burned without causing the exalt's anima banner to flair and is the first one to recharge when the exalt rest to regain their power.

Essence pools are calculated slightly differently between the exalted types.
Solar's and Abyssal's essence pools: Personal (half your willpower+your essence score+2) Peripheral (your full willpower + (essence score X 5))
Lunar's and Sidereal's Essence Pools: Personal (half your willpower+your essence score+1) Peripheral (your full willpower + (essence score X 4))
Dragon Blooded Essence Pools: Personal (half your willpower+your essence score) Peripheral (your full willpower + (essence X 3))

CHARMS
All exalted start off with 7 charms, based of their abilities (or attributes for Lunar's).

Each 'charm' is a magical trick designed to enhance or augment the exalt's natural talents in super natural ways. The more powerful the charm the more essence it will cost to activate, with some requiring the exalt to also burn a point of willpower as well, or hit points. All charm also require a certain level of skill and spiritual enlightenment in order to learn, necessitating the exalt to to raise their essence score and their abilities/attributes if they wish to acquire stronger charms.

COMBOS
A combo is a specialized form of charm use that allow rapied fire activation of multiple charms at once. Using a combo allows the exalt to overcome the '1 charm per post rule' but only if they have invested the xp to learn that combo first. You may not have a combo at the start.

SORCERY
You may choose to exchange one of you charms to unlock the first level of sorcery, the terrestrial circle which will mark you as a sorcerer at the start of play. You will start off with only one spell that you have mastered, but may exchange more charms for more spells. For all other cases, spells are treated the same as charms xp coast wise, and are treated as 'occult' charms this purpose. You require an essence score of 3 and at least 3 in occult to learn the first circle of magic.

!!!!!BONUS POINTS!!!!!
You will have 10 Points to spend on any stats you wish. You may also choose to spend 4 BP to gain another charm/sorcery (or 3 if it is a favored ability/attribute). Also you may spend 3 points to start with a piece of magical gear, or 6 to raise your essence score by 1

"A great warrior-poet once said, 'The Realm is a wonderful place, and worth fighting for.' I agree with the first part." Ragara's words drawled as she had drunk more than her fill that night, her partner barely listening as she slurred out random thoughts about the state of the Realm. "And that is before the Empress comes back as Akuma, then we're all Fooked!" Her company would set out again soon, one of the Sesus military troops. Ragara had exalted some years ago, but that hadn't rocketed her up the ranks like she always imagined it would.

"Bloody lineage! It's a rigged fooking game here in the Realm!" She took another long draught of her ale, before turning a wry eye to the leader of their group. Queen Bitch of Sesus ran this group, some kind of holy graduate from the Immaculate Order, one that had successfully slain at least one Anathema, and routed many others. "Bitch..." Ragara muttered under her breath. With a snort, she turned towards the tavern keeper, "Another round for me and my mate, make it quick, ya hear?"

Ragara enjoyed the clout her position gave her, make no wrong, rather it was the lack of advancement her blood forced upon her that she resented. Lowborn Dragon-Blooded were basically Kings of the shite in the Realm. Not quite peasants, but also not high-born; their chance of establishing a respectable dynasty was next to nothing. Ragara breathed a contemptible sigh, "At least im not a Northern Barbarian..."

Under a starlit night, a magnificent vessel cut the waves. It was a beautiful ship. It’s planks were made of Ivory and birch woud. It’s nails were wrought of silver. It’s sails were woven of white silk. The water parted easily before it, a favorable current carrying it. A gentle wind blew in its sails, pushing it along at a steady pace. No tides buffered it. No storms harried it. No sea creatures stalked it. For all the spirits of the ocean in its path knew better than to impede it’s path. The Great Western Censor had demanded that the ship, and it’s crew, be given safe passage in it’s voyage, and the gods obeyed the dragon for fear of his wrath.

The ship had sailed on a strange course, for it had no crew, nor captain, nor helmsman, yet in the span of a single night it had visited many points of creation, and not all had been connected by sea. Heralded by mist, It had appeared before a coastline and gently beached itself upon the shore, where a single figure stood waiting for it. The boat would lower it’s ramp for the person on the shore, inviting them to come aboard. Once they had the tide would roll in with a sudden surge and take it out to sea once more. Mist would engulf it again and it would vanish from the world, only to appear minutes later before some new beach or dock somewhere else in the world where an entirely new figure would stand waiting for the gang plank to lower.

This process would repeat again, and again, and again. Appearing and disappearing in the mist and acquiring new passengers until all that had been invited by it’s master were now aboard. Those that were embarked upon the ship were no ordinary people though. For it was not just any simple person who had been selected for the voyage. At first glance it might seem as though those standing atop the deck had few similarities among them. Each from different places of the world, with different complexions and forms of dress. But a more spiritually aware individual might see them for what they were and feel the power that radiated from them invisibly like ripples of the ocean below.

Exalted. Demi-god. The half immortal chosen of the Celestines. Each one bore the spark of divinity in their breast, and the touch of magic pulsed through their veins as though it were blood. Though they knew not the reason for why they had been summoned, their gathering this night would eventually create ripples in the very fabric of creation. For rare it is for two or more Exalt’s to meet without destiny itself becoming reshaped by their actions.

After some time passed, it soon became apparent that no more passengers would be collected by the strange ship. As silence began to descend on the deck, one among them decided to break it. A man stepped forward, the ears and tail of a beast adorned him. His skin was dark and sun kissed, and was adorned with silvery tattoos. The hallmarks of a Lunar.

Loudly he cleared his throat to gather attention and spoke. “So… no that all of we be here, I think introductions be in order.” He placed a hand over his chest and gave a short bow. “I be named Ashen Sky of Wavecreast. Might I have tha pleasure of knowing who might ye all be?”

In all, she really wasn’t entirely sure what to make of all...this. Though her life was rather dictated by strange ordeals and unusual phenomena, she knew enough to understand that she’d committed herself to something that was on an entirely different level. Why she of all the Exalted in Creation had been chosen….

She, who wandered Creation aimless and without purpose. She, who was uncertain of her lot. She, who’d become a black sheep among those other loyal Solars, who wholeheartedly supported what she found herself doubting.

There were many others, many who were stronger, and many who had achieved feats that marked them as heroes in the eyes of some. Yet, it was she that had received a summons and a plea from none other than a member of the Celestial Bureaucracy—a Dragon. She had the option to refuse the request...however, she could not in good conscious do so. Even if it was far beyond her understanding as to why she was sought out, she wasn’t one to deny what seemed to be a legitimate appeal for aid. If there was something she could do to help absolve whatever sort of situation this was, she’d oblige to the best of her capabilities, that was the right thing to do, after all.

Though doubt and questions plagued her, Lux boarded the ethereal ship that’d awaited her—it had seemed she’d been amidst the first of its pickups. The deck was empty, there was no one aboard as the ship sailed itself to and fro.

The salty sea air was cool against her skin. Heavy and damp, it settled upon her in a manner that felt almost weighted. Though perhaps contradictory, it was both comforting and unsettling. Such was how it always was when she’d traveled upon the seas. It always felt as if the oceans and its spirits weren’t entirely sure how to feel about her. The waters could be as smooth as glass, the winds as gentle as a sigh, and the skies as clear as crystal, and never could she find herself feeling completely at ease upon the ocean. This instance was no different.

As the ghostly ship made what Lux assumed to be its rounds, gathering up other willing individuals, Lux herself had decided that she would seat herself upon its deck and...wait. She’d wait and observe those who were apparently to form her traveling party. It wasn’t often that she actually traveled with a group—since it was she’d decided to try to find her own way, she really had been finding her own way. It was a rare day that she was ever in the company of another for more than a short while. Agreeing to whatever task this was also meant to agreeing to be in the company of whomever else had decided to at least hear out their summoner. It was worth her taking a bit of time to merely watch. Most definitely, they were an odd bunch. Lux continued her vigil, making no motion to greet or speak to anyone as they boarded the ship, instead she opted to nibble upon a small piece of chocolate that she’d fished out of one of her many pockets.

….well, she kept silent, til another one of the few stray passengers decided to be the one who broke the ice. By the looks of him, he was a Lunar—an Exalt that was meant to be the shadow to the light of a Solar Exalt like herself. In her short life, she’d met a few Lunars...and it seemed she was to meet yet more. Lux kept her green eyes trained upon him, as he cleared his throat and spoke, “So...no that all of we be here, I think introductions be in order.” he bowed, placing a hand across his chest, “I be named Ashen Sky of Wavecrest. Might I have tha pleasure of knowing who might ye all be?”

Wavecrest…. So, this Lunar hailed from the West—though his accent would’ve made Lux suspect as much, even if he hadn’t openly announced it. She was familiar with the accent, after all, Vered had developed a mild one from her time there that bled into and dyed any of the other tongues she spoke.

Perhaps she might be better off still attempting to observe and muse over her apparent companions...Lux could not bring herself to ignore the Lunar’s—Ashen’s—attempt to instigate introductions. It’d be a while since she’d had to introduce herself to a group…. It’d been a while since she’d been in a group of people who would need to even know her name at all. It was an odd feeling, realizing that.

Well...no time like the present to get over that…! Is what some people might say. Lux was not one of those people, but she was one to make an honest attempt, at least. So, deciding to bite the arrow, she breathed in deep as she swallowed the bit of chocolate she’d been savoring. She hoisted herself upward with a needless sound escaping her throat as she habitually brushed off her bottom before she herself returned the gesture of a shallow bow to him, the sea breeze tousling her short hair as she so—she felt it brush against the scar upon her forehead. After a moment, Lux stood herself back upright, and clasped her hands together at her front, and smiled.

“Introductions are always awkward, aren’t they?” she awkwardly laughed before she half-snorted as she tried to clear her throat—realizing what sort of noise she’d made, her cheeks reddened a bit, “Ah...anyway, I’m Lux...Fiala, I suppose you could say I hail from The Scavenger Lands?” Lux stopped herself there, that was enough for an introduction, wasn’t it? “As it stands, it’s nice to make your acquaintance, Ashen. And it’s nice to make everyone else’s, as well.”

“Chieftain, there was a messenger today.”

Astrid’s skin fluttered ever so slightly as she practiced the Unfettering, her skin shifting and adjusting ever so slightly as the protean nature of her very existence made itself known. The gift from Luna did not cease to change her form, nor did her eyes open, “And?”

“The Censor of the West requests your presence.”

Her left eye opened, a cat-eyed pupil staring back at the elk spirit that stood before her. Slowly the pupil returned to the shape of a human’s, “Very well.” The Chieftain rose to her feet and with a lazy stretch, immediately beginning preparing for departure.

The vessel that met her was by no means shabby. Deciding that the West was incredibly misogynistic, Astrid opted to take on a male form for her initial contact with the ship’s crew and the Censor himself. With a whim, her hair was shortened to a bob cut, her chest smoothed out, and her hips slimmed down to that of a man’s. Without bluster, she walked onto the ship and waited.

She hadn’t been the first person that the vessel had picked up. A small creature sat on the deck nearby, nibbling on cacao. Astrid’s nose twitched slightly, cacao didn’t grow well in the North. At least, not where she was from. The scent reminded her of delicate fruit that had been dipped in liquid cacao, it was quite a blissful memory. She’d only been lucky enough to try such a delicacy twice before. Sighing, she found herself a place on the deck and laid on her back to stare at the sky while she waited.

After some time, and picking up a few more “honored guests,” someone began to speak. “I be Ashen Sky of Wavecrest.” Astrid became suddenly aware that the person speaking was a Lunar. Her war-form blurred into existence as she towered at her full height of two hundred and fifty-five centimeters.

Covered in white and black fur, Astrid silently walked towards Ashen Sky until she was able to clearly look him up and down. As a human, she was a bit lean and fairly tall, but not incredibly imposing in stature. However, in this form, she was a paragon of sinewy muscle, the fusion of tiger and human. She bared her teeth in a grin, “Cascading Moonlight.” The runic tattoos that fixed her shape into something almost tangible flared into existence, telling a story of her time in the Silver Pact.

The Wandering Artisan Clad in Souls poured the last of his watering can onto the final poppy flower. It certainly could have been left up to his servants, but it brought about a certain level of catharsis in Artisan to do it himself. Smiling, he began to make his way back to the workshop that lies at the center of his field of plants.

“Sir, a message.”

Stopping for a moment, Artisan picked a few flowering plants that were used to create Nepenthe. The flowers were beautiful this time of the year. “What does it say?”

One of the spirits bound to him answered, “We’re needed.”

“Always.” With a warm smile, the Deathknight’s delicate hands waved the spirit away. One of his employees was nearby watching over the indentured servants. “Gentry. I will be out on business for a bit. Care for the shop while I’m out?”

Artisan stood in front of a wagon as the boat pulled up before him. “Load her up.” His servants carefully removed the box from the back of the wagon and took their time putting it onto the ship. He smiled to himself as he boarded the ship, it was about time the powers that be recognized his talents.

“I be Ashen Sky of Wavecrest.” One of the guests previous to him had begun to speak as the boat had started to sail away, which seemed to upset someone else who had arrived before him. The man who had spoken was approached by another man who had shifted into a mixture between human and animal. ”Lunars…” Artisan would never know why Luna’s children always had to have a pissing contest with whoever they met. With a bored expression, the Abyssal watched the scene play out.

Ashen Sky smiled bemusedly at the shorter girl that was first to follow up on introductions. Somewhere in the back of his head his western sensibilities were slightly piqued with her presence onboard the ship at sea, but considering that it's voyage was made at the command of a dragon he bite his tongue on the matter for now. He put a hand over his chest and gave her a theatrical bow. "Tis no more awkwardness than tha' of voyage at is norm to make. But it be my pleasure to be making yer acquaintance as well, Miss Fiala."

Then the shadow of the other Lunar fell upon Ashen Sky. He turned his head to him and found his neck craning upwards. The creature before him was a towering thing, striped white and black in its fur. Powerful muscles rippled along its form and a gleaming fangs greeted him as the larger creature grinned down at him. "Cascading Moonlight." It wasn't a name, but a greeting. Silently Ashen Sky Cursed his mentor for not fully fleshing him up on the proper etiquette of the pact. This was the first time the shorter Lunar had met another of his kind that wasn't his flighty oaf of a mentor, and now he was being sized up by his fellow child of the Moon. The former privateer did not posses the same charm assume his warform as the other did, and thus didn't have any physical means to respond to the clear but subtle challenge. If he was nervous about this disparity between them though, he did a masterful job of hiding it. After all, it wasn't as if he couldn't meet the display with a show of his own.

He grinned back up at the man infront of him. "Guide your hunt." He put a hand on his hip and looked the other Lunar up and down. "Well, well. An impressive shape ta' take. Ya wear it as fashion big boyo or did ya put it on jus fer me?" As he talked his grin seemed to widen slightly, unnaturally so, while his eye took on a vaguely manic and predatory gaze. A magic of his own suffused his face, darkening it save for his own shimmering silver tattoos, and giving his form a faint air of menace. "What," He said with a smile full of teeth that appeared to take a sharper edge "were ya worried I'd bite?" It was a simple trick, of devious magic. While the Full Moon had presented himself to Ashen Sky with a show of Mettle, he responded with a show of Cunning, and wove a minor illusion around himself as a thing to be wary of. Not as a threat, but as something that could prove far, far from an easy prey if provoked. For this was not meant as an escalation, but rather as a form of return to the tiger skinned lunar's own greeting in custom.

Under the brilliance of a full moon the surface of a natural spring glistened, with silken robes hanging in a nearby tree. The peaceful beautiful of the scene was soon interrupted by the emergence of a golden haired man from the center of the spring. They pulled their long hair back and tied it, with a cord on their wrist, into a ponytail. Standing up the man exposed himself while walking to the silken robes, drying himself before adorning himself with the robes.

After dressing the man grabbed a small wine container and his intricately crafted staff hidden among the grass underneath the tree. Taking a long swig from the wine within they walked towards their lodging, a large inn room located near the spring. Inside their room a woman was laying down in their bed, their clothes discarded and their body shining from sweat from their earlier engagement. The man placed some sheets on her before taking another drink from their container.

The man was known as Baek Kwan and had operated in this coastal town for over a month. They are a wandering exalted, offering their services to those willing to pay. Their activities had gained them some renown among those with enough wealth to purchase their services while instilling fear on those who would act against them. This had gained Kwan an equal amount of allies and enemies as well as money and influence. The monetary gain however wasn't his main motivation, it was the influence and information he could gain through his activities.

This is because he was not just any exalted, he was a Solar exalted. Solar's are hunted down and executed by those currently in power and the fragile egos of the Dragon-blooded. Baek Kwan's goals aligned with the Gold Faction, a group of people who wanted to see the Solar exalted back in control, overthrowing the corrupt Realm. He didn't have any desire to rule, in fact he didn't even really believe that Solar's would rule any better, he just had a personal grudge against the Realm and the Great Houses that flourished within. He would align himself with them as long as he could use their influence and power to exact his revenge.

While drinking and watching the beautiful scene outside their room, Kwan saw a peculiar sight. A crystal winged Osprey was flying towards his room, landing about a foot away from him. Curious he approached the bird and obtained the scroll the bird was carrying. Unfurling and reading the message revealed that the sender was requesting their presence at the spire of Fakharu. Apparently their deeds had gained them enough renown or notoriety to rouse the interest of the Censor of the Celestial Bureaucracy and Dragon of Water for a matter of 'personal interest'. Intrigued by the proposal and the possible gains he could make by participating, Kwan drank a little more wine before a fox like smile adorned his face.

Baek Kwan awaited the arrival of the arrival of the ivory ship with a small number of bags carrying a few essentials needed while journeying. While waiting he looked among his supplies, among them hidden was a container housing opium, tobacco, and an assortment of herbs for smoking. Kwan had attempted to rid himself of his vices but his addiction to the sweet taste of opium was hard to overcome. He would attempt to stave it off with vices which held a smaller grasp on him but he would carry some with him just in case.

A mist had settled into the harbor before the ivory shipped arrived to welcome him aboard. After walking up the ramp Kwan noticed that there was already a number of occupants onboard. One was a man with that had a number of animalistic features visible and silver tattoos adorning their body, undoubtedly a Lunar exalt. A young looking woman was also nearby, she was eating chocolate, a delicacy but not entirely uncommon. He couldn't tell what exalted they were just from their appearance. The others onboard were also hard to distinguish just by appearance, although one was very pale a common trait of an Abyssal.

After some time the ship hadn't made any additional stops, meaning that those onboard were probably the entirety of the party asked to attend. It could be possible that there was another ship or that other members may be further a long but until such an event occur it was safe to assume that this was all of the passengers.

In an attempt to 'break the ice' the visible Lunar had chosen to address everyone and introduce themselves saying, “So… no that all of we be here, I think introductions be in order. I be named Ashen Sky of Wavecreast. Might I have tha pleasure of knowing who might ye all be?”

In response the young lady said, “Introductions are always awkward, aren’t they?” She awkwardly laughed before she half-snorted as she tried to clear her throat. She seemed embarrassed by the action which elicited Baek Kwan's familiar fox like smile. “Ah . . . anyway, I’m Lux . . . Fiala, I suppose you could say I hail from The Scavenger Lands? As it stands, it’s nice to make your acquaintance, Ashen. And it’s nice to make everyone else’s, as well.” Still smiling, Kwan gave her a slight nod.

A less friendlier exchange then occurred as a man of slight build approached the Lunar. The slight man then began to transform, revealing white and black fur as well as a more muscular build and tiger traits. The tiger Lunar then bared their teeth in a grin, responding with only two words, “Cascading Moonlight.” Their greeting seemed like some sort of challenge but Kwan was unfamiliar with the customs of Lunar exalted.

The pale skinned man said something but was too far for Baek Kwan to pick up exactly. They seemed to be disinterested in introducing themselves as well as the Lunar's exchange. They did continue to observe the exchange with a bored expression.

Ashen Sky then responded to the Lunar's greeting. Activating a charm before replying, "Guide your hunt." He then placed his hands on his hip and gazed at the other Lunar. "Well, well. An impressive shape ta' take. Ya wear it as fashion big boyo or did ya put it on jus fer me?" His appearance darkened, making his shimmering silver tattoos become more pronounced before continuing, "What, were ya worried I'd bite?"

Kwan wasn't all too interested in their exchange so he chose instead to approach Lux, sitting a few feet away from her. Removing some tobacco and cloves from within his bag and the hidden pipe in his robes, Kwan prepared his pipe and lit it with a match. Taking a few drags before exhaling the smoke away from Lux. Kwan offered his hand in greeting to her before saying, "Nice to meet you as well, Lady Fiala." He then interrupted the Lunar's exchange by introducing himself with a fox like grin. "Name is Baek Kwan . . . Anyone know anything about what we got ourselves into or are we all just as in the dark as each other?"

Astrid’s eyes did not falter, her gaze locked firmly onto Ashen Sky, a critical look of assessment on her face. She barely paid attention to his words while examining the tattoos that adorned his body. Lunars from the West had the most dramatic Moonsilver Tattoos, a simple necessity of people who found themselves frequently in water. The story his tattoos told was one of Cunning and desperation, not that desperation was uncommon among the Lunars. She had experienced plenty of desperation herself...

“Were ya worried I’d bite?”

She continued to stare him down for a few long seconds before replying. “I’m sure your bark is worse than your bite.” So this was one of the men that were to be her packmate for the time being. “You’re from the West. I hope you don’t ascribe to that patriarchal bullshit.” With a roll of her shoulders, Astrid turned away from the other Lunar and started prowling away. She called over her shoulder, “You’re one of Luna’s children, gender, form, and reality are mutable to you. Reconcile that with Western ideals.”

Raising a hand to her face to hide a yawn, Astrid’s form shifted down into that of a small black cat. Her eyes scanned the remaining occupants of the boat before her padded feet carried her silently to the side of the only other woman on board, where she curled into a ball and promptly began to nap.

….whatever attempts she would’ve made to further the initiated introductions, they were otherwise interrupted by something of a show of...force? Capability? Between the Lunar known as Ashen Sky and yet another Lunar who’d joined the fray—they’d called themselves “Cascading Moonlight,” and assumed a form between human and tiger—one that was large and was meant to be intimidating. Yet, Lux actually found it fascinating, and perhaps it was childish, but she actually thought that it was really neat.

Lux had crossed paths with Lunars prior to this but, never more than one at a time. She didn’t know if this interaction between Ashen and Moonlight was a completely expected occurrence. Did all Lunars attempt to assert themselves when they met another? Overall, she knew actually very little about Lunars and their ways. The only sources of information she had were ones she herself didn’t quite feel were reliable. Those who mentored her, who taught her before she set out on her own…. Though they would’ve probably liked for her to have accepted their words and “lessons” about Lunars at face value, but Lux had her doubts about the validity of their teachings. They’d always tried to make it seem like they were supposed to be lesser than herself because she was a Solar…that wasn’t something that had ever sat well with Lux, and it never would.

A nervous grin crept up over Lux’s face as the exchange between the two Lunars continued—Ashen activating some sort of Charm, mirroring the other Lunar’s form. She could make out a subtle silver glimmer from his form as it seemed to darken, a projected air of predation had overcome him. That was it, however. It was a sort of show. A way to confer that even if he might not win in fight, it’d take too much effort for it to be worthwhile. Even if Lux didn’t know squat about Lunars and their customs, it was still easy enough to read an interaction for what it was...insofar as she was concerned, at least.

The presence of others attracted by the scene broke Lux from her own musings about it...and she silent craned her own head about to observe. ….a Deathknight was evidently among their summoned party, how curious. She knew even less about they than she did about Lunars, though she knew one was under the service of the Gold Faction. ….his name eluded her, as she’d only had ever heard him spoken of in hushed tones. Lux knew of the wives’ tales and dark whispered rumors that surrounded Deathknights, their very existences, and their overall everything. What was truth and what was hearsay, she couldn’t say, nor did she she want to dye her expectations of them with falsities. Whoever and whatever sort of individual this Deathknight was, that was something to be judged based upon his actions, and Lux would come to her own conclusions in time.

Again, lost in her own thoughts, Lux found herself somewhat startled from them by the sound of a match being struck to life rather nearby her, and it took almost every bit of the little Eclipse’s composure to not squawk in a manner that would most certainly attract seagulls under normal sailing circumstances. Though, there was nothing she could do to stop the inevitable reddening of her cheeks as she turned to look at the source of the sound—only to find that a hand was extended toward her. “Nice to meet you, Lady Fiala.”

The overly formal way in which she was addressed made Lux freeze. Never in her whole short life had she’d been called a “Lady.” She wasn’t of noble birth or high status. She really didn’t quite know how to react to that. It might seem rude to rebuff the attempt at politeness, but it felt really weird to her to be addressed as “Lady” anything. During Lux’s inner debate over how to handle this, the owner of the hand that was still extended toward her blundering self again spoke, this time making a point to address everyone else. “Name is Baek Kwan…. Anyone know anything about what we got ourselves into or are we all just in the dark as each other?”

Shaking off her doubt and uncertainties, Lux wanted to smack herself for taking so long to respond to the man—Kwan. She was never one who excelled in the realm of socializing, if she was to be traveling with these people for a somewhat significant timeframe, she needed to remedy that as much as possible, and the moments she spent getting lost in her own head needed to cease ASAP. Going forward with that line of thought, Lux made it a point to awkwardly shove her small hand into the man’s and try to shake it. Handshakes weren’t something she’d done a lot of either.

“Uh, Mister Kwan, I can’t say that I personally know much about what’s going on either.” Lux answered him, pulling her hand back to her side as she clasped both together at chest level, and twiddled her thumbs. “I received a request for my presence, to help resolve some evidently dire situation, and I obliged. What that situation is, I do not know though....” she mumbled the last bit, and turned her eyes down toward her hands. Lux mustered a small shrug, however. The lack thereof knowledge really did not do much to actually bother her. “In truth, I’m more curious why I was summoned. I mean, if it’s believed I can be of help, then I’ll gladly do what I can, though it may not be much....”

As Lux had spoken, it seemed that she had missed the conclusion of the encounter between the Lunars. It was only when Lux caught sight of Moonlight’s form shifting once more, shrinking down into the shape of a cat that she even realized. Her gaze was instantly back upon the Lunar, whose feline eyes were scanning between them all...til they settled upon her. Lux’s eyes followed the Lunar as she trotted on over to her side, plopped herself down and began to...sleep. This was regarded with silence from the Eclipse Caste, she wasn't wholly sure what to think. The hybrid form that Moonlight had assumed before had been fascinating to Lux, but this one was….

“Cute….” the thought slipped from Lux’s mouth before she could help herself.

Artisan watched the display play out between the two Lunars with a bored expression, his mouth upturned slightly when the second Lunar changed appearance; it seemed the two had to establish some sort of pack hierarchy, just like the dogs he had grown up with. For a brief moment, he entertained the notion of training either Lunar using positive reinforcement, just as he had trained all his dogs, before dismissing it as entirely unnecessary.

The tall blonde-haired man who had boarded after Artisan meandered towards the blonde-haired girl who had introduced herself as Lux. For a split second, the moonlight framed the duo and the whispers of the Neverborn sounded senselessly in the Abyssal’s ears. Those two had to be Solars, probably. At the very least the Neverborn did not appreciate their being on the voyage. The man produced a pipe and tobacco which raised a question Artisan hadn’t considered before. Can Exalted still feel the effects of various drugs and poisons? As far as he knew, only very strong poisons worked on them; by extension would very strong drugs be the only way for an Exalted to use?

“Name is Baek Kwan . . . Anyone know anything about what we got ourselves into or are we all just as in the dark as each other?”

After a moment, the blonde girl answered the stranger’s query, though she seemed just as lost as he was. She seemed almost as eager to help as a puppy that was to one day be a sheepdog. Idly Artisan wondered if all Solars were this clueless, certainly the Bishop mentioned they were mostly without guidance these days.

The Lunars seemed to finish their exchange, as one of them shifted into a cat and joined the two Solars. It suddenly hit Artisan that this was the most Exalted, nay the only Exalted that Artisan had seen since joining their ranks. Putting on his most winning smile, the Deathknight slowly approached Baek and Lux, taking a seat on the side of the boat nearest to them. “I’m The Wandering Artisan Clad in Souls, and I suppose one could say I’m from Ikh Bayan.”

Scrutinizing both of their faces, he couldn’t help but wonder, did no one else know why they were here? Clearing his throat he continued thoughtfully, ”Well let’s see if we can’t work backward to find a way out of the dark. There are six individuals here, who I presume are Exalted like myself.” He pointed to each person on deck while counting with his fingers. “We were summoned by the Western Censor, Lord Fakharu, who is also a Dragon of Water. Finally, the letter mentioned the matter at hand is most dire.”

He looked down at the black cat that had curled up by Lux, its breathing had evened out, apparently already napping. “Somehow I don’t think the Tiger Lunar was summoned for their tactfulness.” Artisan looked Baek up and down, “You’re no stranger to war either. If I had to hazard a guess?” He paused for dramatic effect while taking a quick look at everyone, “We’re a strike team. Fakharu could raise Gods of his own court for most issues, so he intends to send us somewhere his jurisdiction doesn’t reach." He grinned, "At least that's would be my bet, if I were a betting man.”

“You’re one of Luna’s children, gender, form, and reality are mutable to you. Reconcile that with Western ideals.” Ashen Sky blinked. Then balked, face flushing red briefly. The statement against his home culture apparently producing a subdued outrage in the changing moon. Ashen Sky bit back a retort and crossed his arms tightly over his chest. He fumed quietly for a moment while everyone else finished making their introductions, only managing to master himself once again just as the speculation of the intent behind their summons began.

”Well let’s see if we can’t work backward to find a way out of the dark. There are six individuals here, who I presume are Exalted like myself.” Began the man who introduced himself with a rather long name. Ashen Sky leant against the ships mast as he listened to the Abyssal layout his reasoning. He presumed them to be about to be recruited as operatives for the water dragon. Agents sent beyond the censors reach to a placed he had no influence in. It would make sense to some degree and Ashen would be inclined to agree but... "But why bring all us together ta 'is own palace then? I confess I may nah know much 'bout tha politics' o' tha gods, but tha Censor's influence should extend cross the entire western ocean. Nah much reason ta bring us outsiders there fer a job." He Slid his hands into his pockets. "Nah ta say I doubt ya none. Fact is I think yer pretty spot on, but something feels a bit off about all this. If we are gettin' together to knock some 'eads in somewhere in the west, then it feels like he also doesn't want his name attached ta it when we do."

She stood by quiet as the others spoke, her eyes still partly drawn to the Lunar who’d taken to the form of a feline. The Deathknight’s introduction passed overtop her head—she was only aware enough to really catch his name and little else. She heard him questioning why they were all gathered together...and making assumptions in regards to the matter. Again, why she of all Exalted had received a summons was beyond her. Why Fakharu had summoned them all, it didn’t matter to her. She’d gotten a plea for help, that was all that she needed to know. Whether or not the others ended up agreeing to assist Fakharu in whatever matters he asked of them, that didn’t matter either. There’d been more than one instance where Lux had ended up having to absolve things on her own when others deemed them not worth their time. She’d do it again...even if she wasn’t the best suited to most tasks.

Folks had called her naïve before, she’d been called a lot of things before. She was, in a manner of speaking. If she was that, then that was fine.

Wanting to help others...and doing it, that was something that defined her life. She had no purpose, no goal, nothing to aim for. Lux took to traveling the world in order to find...something for herself, to gain perspective and to refine the views she held on many matters—including those she had on the Cult of the Illuminated. In her travels, she still had yet to find many answers. The only answer she’d reach thus far was that she felt compelled to help others, if only in the most minor of ways. From little things to the large, anything that makes things better….

That was enough.

“To be truthful with the lot of you, I don’t much care why we were all summoned in this manner.” Lux responded in a quiet voice. “Whether we’re needed for reasons of discretion or otherwise, it doesn’t matter to me. I only want to help however I can...if I can.”
