She is very blunt, unlike the normal female of the time, she is not afraid to tell a man what exactly he is doing wrong.
She doesn't allow many people to push her around.
But aside from this, she is very kind and nurturing.
She cares for everyone, no matter how horrid they come off to be, she will still help them if help is needed.
She always carries around a few pencils and a pad of paper to write and sketch on.
She also carries around her fathers knife.
Her father disappeared when she was just 9 years old and was never found. Since she was the oldest out of three children, she had to learn to do most of the work around the house. This is the reason that she feels and acts so independent. At age 14v she started writing to a young man named Henry James Luxford. She thought of him as a friend and nothing else, but because he was more on the wealthy side of society, her mother has chosen to make her wed him. Even though she wishes to be wed, she wants to wed someone she loves, but her mother won't allow her to wed anyone but Henry.
