Description

LightPaw is a young male cat with short brown fur. He has patches of light brown mixed through his soft fur with a large patch covering his belly, chin and the tip of his tail. His nose is reddish brown and quite moist. The insides of his ears are a bright fleshy pink and His eyes are bright hazel, close to orange. His build is average for a cat his age, a slim long body with strong legs, thin tail and small head. He only recently returned from a trip on which he became the apprentice medicine cat of the tribe.

Personality

LightPaw is a care free cat whom can be found doing anything from hunting to sleeping whenever he isn't getting training from Jayfeather. He still puts effort and time into his apprenticeship but when he is given the chance to adventure or try something new he can't hold himself back. He's a reckless cat with a short fuse, If someone insults or picks on one of his friends he gets angry and if provoke is prone to getting into fights. However, LightPaw won't put a friend a risk, he might be a careless, reckless and somewhat childish at times but If he managed to get someone hurt whilst playing then he thinks that he wouldn't ever be suitable to be the tribes medicine cat. He doesn't have any outstanding talents in any area and could be considered and adequate fighter/hunter but no more or no less. He is almost always in a good mood except when woken up from a good sleep. If he's woken up from a good dream or something like that he acts grumpy for a while and tends to speak sarcastically to others while in his mood.

Equipment

LightPaw will use his claws and short teeth when necessary, though he isn't very agile and can be clumsy at times.

History

LightPaw never cared much for his past as it was boring and uneventful, he never knew his parents and was told that he had just wandered into the camp as a kit one day. LightPaw didn't ever bother questioning this, he accepted the tribe as what might be considered a family and spent most of his time playing with the other kits until he was approached by the clans medicine cat. Jayfeather had noticed that while LightPaw was reckless and childish he still showed care for those around him, after further examination LightPaw also proved himself a quick learner who could figure out the answer to most of the questions he was asked just from observing what others do and say. So LightPaw was to be Jayfeathers apprentice where he would learn what was needed to one day take on the role of medicine cat. LightPaw showed both dedication and enthusiasm towards his studies, When Jayfeather could find him to teach him that is...

LightPaw was woken by an itch on his nose. He opened one eye to examine the source of the itch and saw a small green leaf perched upon the tip of his nose, probably blown over by the wind. After letting out a short yawn, he shook his head and watched the leaf fall to the floor. Moving his gaze upwards LightPaw noticed that the sun had already risen, it was approaching midday. That was when he remembered that he had a lesson with Jayfeather, it was to have started at dawn but now he would be late!.

LightPaw quickly jumped to his feet and dashed out of the camp. He moved faster than he had ever moved before, like a bolt of lightning arcing through the sky he shot through the camp, heading toward where the lesson was to be held. LightPaw didn't care what was in his path, running through bushes and bumping into several other cats on the way to Jayfeather. When he arrived at where he was to be taught and found Jayfeather he muttered a quiet apology to the medicine cat and followed him to where they would start the lesson. The medicine cat was to be showing LightPaw how to care for a sick cat properly and so they were to be headed towards the home of one of the camps sick cats whom had whitecough.

LightPaw looked over to StarLight and mewed a quiet "Hello", trying not to get Jayfeathers attention. He turned back to the patient they were treating and listened carefully, not wanting to miss even a single word from his lecturer. JayFeather paused and nodded towards their patient, signalling for the apprentice to step forwards and treat the patient. He picked up some catmint which he had brought with him then stepped towards the sick cat. He put the catmint in front of the cat and nudged it towards him with his nose. He drew closer to the ill cat and whispered into its ear "Eat it, You'll get better soon" then walked back to JayFeathers side.

I was satisfied with what I had done and thought that maybe Jayfeather hadn't taken too much notice of my tardiness. I was about to ask to be excuse for the day so I could go play with the others, Unfortunatley for me it was at this moment that Jayfeather looked down to me and spoke. "Don't think your going to get away with being so late LightPaw, you need to learn what it means to be a medicine cat. What might have happened if the sick cat was close to death, only minutes to be cured?." LightPaw sulked and looks to his paws as he stood there listening to Jayfeather lecture. I knew my job and was sorry that I had been late, I tried to squeeze in a word to explain why I was late but Jayfeather was relentless in his criticism. In the end I decided to keep quiet and listen, taking every peice of advice Jayfeather gave me to heart. When I was eventually dismissed I decided to go find my friends and play, try to cheer up abit.

I spent ages looking around for other apprentices but couldn't find any as it turned out they had started their warrior training a short while before I left Jayfeathers. The difference in when we started training was inconvent. I roamed the quiet camp and was trying to think of who might be able to play with me. After some not so deep thought I decided to go find StarLight, thinking she might want to play with me. Of the many cats around the camp very few seemd to know where StarLight was. It came to a point where I decided I would wait in the main camp for her, maybe spy on some of the warrior apprentices.

When I heard StarLight I was so happy, I dashed towards her and was about to tackle her when I tripped over my two front paws and ended up crashing into her. I considered trying to play off that I did it purposely but I didn't think she would believed that and so when I managed to pull myself upright I turned to her.
"Sorry StarLight. I didn't mean too..." My voice trailed off and before I moved on to ask her to play with me I paused to listen to her reply.

I smiled and wipe a bit of muck off my nose with my paw, nearly forgetting what I was going to ask her.
"Im Fine, I was going to ask if you wanted to go play? Im so bored!"
I yawned and then sat down infront of her, waiting impatiently for a reply.

I nodded at StarLights suggestion. "Swimming sounds good". I got back to my paws and lazily wandered in the direction of the nearest lake, hoping StarLight would follow.

I thought about jumping in after StarLight but couldn't bring myself to do so. It annoyed me as to how i forgot what happened last time I came to the lake with my friends. I put one paw in the shallow water but quickly pulled it out again, I told myself I wasn't scared at all and it was just too cold. I sat at the waters edge and call out to StarLight.

"Its too cold. I don't want to come in".

I moved back from the waters edge a few steps and looked out over the lake, examining the landscape. Looking across the lake I could occasionally see a fish jump out the water spreading shiny droplets in all directions or a fin rise and cause ripples across the surface only to disappear gain. I sighed quietly, anxious to jump and swim like the fish but fearful to do so.

I jumped back as StarLight splashed water at me but some still got on my face. My immediate reaction to this was to shout angrily at her as she stick her tongue out.

"Dont do that! Its cold..."

I shook myself to get any of the water off me and moved even further away from the shore. I felt bad for ruining her fun because I was the one who dragged here down here and I wasn't even playing with her but there was no chance I was stepping into the water. I decided I would apologize later, hopefully she would be able to enjoy herself for now.
