Chastity patted Eva on the shoulder.
"It's okay, I'll get it for you," She said, sounding a little eager.
Eva turned to her, her arm still raised. She didn't quite know how to react to that. Eva was thankful Chastity wanted to get her gun for her, but Eva still didn't want to be alone. Sure, there were other people there, but considering all that had happened in the short amount of time she was there, Eva still wasn't quite sure she wanted to talk to them. She wasn't really in the mood to be arguing today.
Eva sighed.
Well, I can't be anti social forever, She thought. She smiled at Chastity, tears sparkling in her eyes.
"Thanks, Chastity. You're a good friend!" Was the response she went with, along with another awkward hug.
"It's been a long time. Apologies for my lateness." Eva let go of Chastity and turned around. She could recognize that voice from anywhere. Eva's usual odd grin flashed as Ichiro walked up to their table. She waved at him.
"Hey, Ichiro!" She said, happy to see him.
"What's up with the tardiness?" She added sarcastically, purposely smirking now. Of course, she was just kidding around. She didn't mind him being late, as long as he was here. Both he and Chastity were basically the light of the party to her.
"Also I don't think someone who looks like they crawled out of a grave this morning is entitled to criticize my appearance."Ryu's words sliced through the air like a knife. Chastity slammed her fists on the table, giving Ryu the nastiest look she could muster.
"I'm fine, thank you." She said in an equal tone to the waitress, clearly not caring for her order, and with that got up and left their table.
Eva took a moment to process what happened. She didn't even know how to react. She completely blocked out the waitress as she repeatedly asked for her order, then moved on to the next person, slightly frustrated. All of these different emotions were flying at her she didn't know which one to express or which one was even stronger. Eva was sure there was a name that was perfect for what she was feeling, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. She could feel the rage's hot, burning flames licking along her stomach, she could feel the awkwardness clogging her brain, she could feel the disappointment crashing down on her like thunder, she could feel the discomfort like a pillow slowly growing inside her chest, all coming at her from different directions in an odd pattern. Anger, discomfort, anger, awkward, disappointment, discomfort, and awkwardness back again. Eva leaned her elbow on the table, clutching her head as she made a pained expression. Yeah, that's it. She felt pained.
It was because Eva was so lost in thought that she missed Raine apologizing to everyone.
Eva's thoughts, however, were interrupted by a crash. Her eyes were greeted by the most unwelcoming sight anyone could ask for once she turned her head to see what had happened.
There was Chastity, lying on the floor, Eva's gun lying in front of her.
Eva paused for a moment, shoved her chair aside and rushed over to get her gun.
"My baby!" She exclaimed. Although she was running, Raine had somehow gotten there before her and picked it up for her.
"It seems kind Chastity had gotten this for you," The Capricorn said, handing the gun to Eva.
"And Eva, I hope you know I didn't mean to offend you neither," Raine said politely.
"I would never want to upset anyone and it seems I have and I apologize from now on I will call it a cigarette. it was my verbal mistake and I hope you can forgive me." At first Eva had no idea what she was talking about, but once she said "cigarette" it was clear she was apologizing for calling it a "cancer stick". Eva's eyes widened for a second, then she scratched the back of her head and nodded.
"Yeah, that's alright. It happens every once in a while," She said with a small "Eva" smile.
"Thanks for picking up my gun."As soon as Raine had finished, Eva began examining her gun all over. If there was even a scratch on it, Eva was sure Chastity knew that even she would get a few words thrown at her. To Eva's relief and most likely to Chastity's as well (although for very different reasons) there wasn't any harm done to the gun. Eva sighed, clutching it to her chest, a smile on her face.
"She's okay..." She whispered to herself. She strung the gun over her shoulder, feeling much better knowing her gun was with her.
It was then Eva remembered that Chastity had tripped. Eva smacked her forehead, then turned to go help Chastity. It turns out that someone was already helping her, but regardless, Eva held out her hand to Chastity to help her up.
"I'm sorry, I should've came rushing right to you," She said, guilt building up in her stomach like there was no tomorrow.
"I'm such a horrible friend, I don't deserve to live another day!" Before Chastity could take her hand, Eva was off doing her dramatic hand gestures again, along with her dramatic speech. She paused for a moment, then automatically turned back to Chastity and added
"Oh, and thanks for getting my gun!" She smiled gratefully, then held out her hand again.
