Scavenger turned Fighter
Charles' time scavenging the ruins has taught him one rule, "aim to succeed on your own, but never deny help if you come across it". Meaning that although Charles is not a team player by design, he will accept the help of others as well as offer his own help if others need it. He tries to keep a friendly demeanor as he really likes to not get stabbed by someone who is willing to do so to him. Although he would spend his entire life denying it, he is a sucker for a damsel in distress, there is nothing he wants more in life than stability and subconsciously he believes he needs a woman to accomplish that.
Abilities:[Level 1 Strength] Able to lift and throw heavier objects.
Equipment:[Level 1] Claymore, heavy and cumbersome but packs a powerful strike. [Level 0] Pair of Jeans, Hiking Boots, A regular Tee Shirt, and a hoodie/jacket combination
Nighttime is cold in the end times. Charles huddled up against the weak fire he was able to build in a corner of an old, ruined house. He looked out of the window and saw the lights of the small settlement he traded with earlier, about four families that were willing to take his goods. They were probably eating a hot meal and enjoying each others company at this moment, but would he be allowed to join? Of course not, they would take his goods but they would never let him stay in one of their homes, he was a scavenger, a grave robber, no matter whether it be shallow or deep, he cared nothing for the dead, all he wanted was to make a quick sale. That was the general consensus to his type of business at least, personally Charles never understood how this came to be. He never killed a man in cold blood, he always tried to be respectful to those he traded with, and not once did he actually take anything from an actual grave.
It did not matter at this point, all he knew that it was cold and he needed to get an early start the next day. Supposedly there were the remains of a warehouse district to the south where he would be able to get some good salvage. He couldnt sleep though, while the cold was bothering him it was the hunger that kept him awake. The only thing he was able to eat was a can of tuna that he found that was way past the expiration date. Despite all this he was able to finally force his eyes closed and get some sleep. He saw a young woman, very beautiful, speaking to him. He was unable to understand what she was saying but she stood up and pointed towards the sunrise. It got brighter and brighter until Charles woke up with the dawn coming over the window.
He got up and left the house, as he stepped outside he looked towards the sunrise, part of him was hoping that the woman from his dream would just magically appear. But this was no longer a society of hopes, he took a few steps before he heard it. It was a loud clang, like an old church bell coming from the east, coming from the sunrise. He tried to process what he had just heard when the bell rang again, two times back to back. He took a step to the east and stopped himself, he really needed to go south, if he heard the rumor then certainly others would have as well. But he couldnt just deny the coincidence of his dream and these bells. He took a second step and continued east, perhaps this was a society of hopes after all.
