Name: Antoine Desoir.
Age: 30.
Physical Description: In terms of clothing, Antoine usually wears pyjamas. At home, that is, when nobody else is around. Which is a lot. But when he does go out, for work or for play, and usually it's work, he tends to dress in a formal-casual style, with a not too smart looking brown suit, red tie and white shirt, as well as brown trousers and black shoes. He can be all suave when he wants to be, and make his attire look wonderfully smart, but usually he doesn't, and prefers the approach entailing a lack of style. This is what he is most commonly seen in outdoors, although he has been known to have an occasional penchant for tweed. Antoine wears glasses with a golden frame sometimes, and he needs them for reading, which looks kind of weird, and is usually adorned in a long overcoat also. In terms of actual appearance, Antoine is of average height and build. He has a sort of handsome face, with dark hair between brown and black, very dark blue eyes and elegant features, including a very "proper" nose and cheekbones. He looks rather younger than he is, more early twenties, and has been sorely tempted to grow a beard to stop people thinking this, but has managed to avoid the temptation.
Personality: Antoine has a brilliant work ethic, and becomes engrossed in whatever he's studying. He's an academic, he cares about books and studies more than he does leisure activities. In fact, to him, studying new things is a leisure. He hasn't ever been in a serious relationship, not even at high school; such things simply haven't interested him. Were you to ask him on this he would seem cold, simply saying that there are more important things, although he isn't a cold person. He is quiet and studious, and a bit eccentric, but he has a lot of passion for what he does as an historian and is interested in an amateur sense in many other things, including science and literature. As said, history is his main interest however. When talking to him, you can get a sense of his passion if he wants you to, but at the same time he is perfectly capable of talking about seemingly inane things. Despite his lack of interest in his own personal affairs, he picks up a lot about other people and is actually a moderate gossip sometimes. Still, he's a nice enough person, and he can keep big things secret, but many a friend has been lost to him due to his indiscretion. Well, one friend has been lost due to his indiscretion. Though, to be fair, that was his only friend. As for the eccentricity, that comes in when he's working and thinking. He can quite easily go off into a daze mid conversation with someone whilst pondering, as he explains afterwards half-jokingly, "only the infinite mysteries of the universe." Antoine speaks in quite an old fashioned way sometimes, partly due to his studies, partly to do with his upbringing. He is in the habit of calling men "old chap" or "dear fellow," phrases he picked up when reading Sherlock Holmes and other Victorian literature as a boy. He is French-born but was brought up in England, and so speaks with an English accent. He has a penchant for smoking (cigars, pipes, and cigarettes) and drinking, and though he goes out socially rarely, when he does, he gets one hell of a hangover. Overall, Antoine is studious, slightly strange, perhaps a bit cold, passionate, indiscreet and old fashioned, and a generally nice person.
