P E R S O N A L I T Y
unpredictable, Laura is known to go from unbeliveably happy to manically attentive, to suicidal in minutes with no warning, if you catch her on a good day she'll be sweet, even if it does seem a little forced, she tends to be quite neutral towards others with the attitude that she doesn't have the energy to pass judgement but holds grudges. for a long time.

P A S T
Laura came from a home where her parents tended to be too wrapped up in each other, switching between madly in love to screaming at each other, this lead to her moving in with her then girlfriend at sixtyeen, having tried drugs long before that. With no reason to hide her growing addiction it got out of hand, leading her to spectacularly fail her A levels and so miss out on her " promising" university future. In the summer since school ended she focused on not much, not finding it odd to wake up in strange locations with no idea of how to get home, normally due to her being so out of it the night before.

So begins...

Alex opened his eyes, a familiar feeling of dread rushed ever him as he realised what was happening. Groggy and weary he slowly sat up and surveyed his surroundings. Moving slowly in the darkness he lifted himself up and pressed his back against the right bedpost of the double bed, facing the door. The wind outside was blowing against the window to his right, causing a faint howling sound throughout the room. Looking down at himself he took note of what he was wearing: grey jeans, white Vans trainers, a dark blue plaid shirt, and his black and green Razer zip up hoodie. Alex wondered why he was fully clothed for just a few seconds before hearing a loud thump and smash--then the tell-tale sound of slow, heavy-footed walking in the corridor outside his room.

He froze, paralysed with fear.

For what felt like several minutes, Alex sat completely still, holding his hand over his mouth in order to keep silent. He contemplated his options. He could get up and out of this room, or stay here and try to wake up from the dream. Looking back to the window, he slowly moved onto his knees and stood up, being sure to not make any noise. After he managed to stand up straight and keep still on his weak knees he took a step towards the window; reaching out towards the closed curtain he grabbed and pulled it open just enough for a peek through. Outside, the street was dark; the very few street lights operational were weak or flickering. Alex darted his eyes around the street for a few seconds before closing the curtain and turning back to his door.

He gasped for air loudly as his throat clenched with fear when he noticed his door was now open and in the doorway a tall humanoid figure stood. It's head tilted with It's wide, colourless eyes fixated on him. Alex had absolutely no time to do anything other than let out a horrified scream before an insanely bright light filled the room from behind the curtains accompanied by the loudest blast of sound a human's hearing could survive. It sounded similar to the horn of that used on a cargo ship. The windows shattered and smashed in the blast as Alex held his head as tight as he could and fell to the ground in the shockwave. Pictures fell off the walls and the floor shook violently beneath him. As he tightened his grip over his ears the heat in the room intensified the last thing he felt were cold, bony hands grasping his arms tight and pulling him into the heat and light.

Suddenly Alex awakened, his eyes shot open and he shouted in fright as he crawled backwards. Stopping nearly instantly because he realised he was in the middle of nowhere, sat on a dusty dirt road with sand dunes and orange rocks either side of him. He contemplated still being in a dream for a minute before wiping the sweat from his forehead and standing up. Taking his jacket off he did a visual sweep of the area surrounding him. Seeing nothing in any direction he tied the jacket around his waste and took a few steps down the road. In his mind he was screaming, shouting, and panicking but on the outside he simply looked worried, puzzled. His breathing was erratic and he was shaking, purely from fear.

This is something to do with the nightmare.

Thoughts were bouncing around and filling Alex's head with reasons why this couldn't be real, but every minute he stood under the sun he came closer to realising the situation was very real. He wiped his forehead again and started to walk down the dirt road that lay in front of him. He needed to find somebody. Anybody.

Lena was snuggled up in her favorite corner of the library wearing an old sweater, jeans and a scarf to keep warm in the library's cool basement. She liked it here, it was dark and she was alone.Burrowing further into her corner, she continued to read her latest novel. It was a so-called nonfiction book that had detailed accounts of alien abductions and sightings. She laughed softly to herself as she flipped through the photographs of "alien labs". Yeah and pigs can fly too she mumbled, laughing to herself. Her eyelids got heavier and heavier as she scanned the pages of her book and soon, she drifted off to sleep.

Lena opened her eyes and groggily tried to become aware with her surroundings. She didn't feel the cozy atmosphere of the library or the shuffling of feet on the floor above her. Maybe the library had closed? No, the librarians usually came down and alerted her that she needed to leave the building. She strained her eyes trying to see through the darkness but her eyes couldn't detect anything. As she tried to figure out where she was, she felt herself slip deeper and deeper back into a peaceful slumber. After a few minutes of trying to fight it, Lena was out cold again.

Lena jolted awake and looked around feverently. Where was she? For as far as she could see there was just sand, no trees. She was in a desert somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Lena started to go into full panic mode. was she kidnapped? Lena, this is why you never give out your information to people this is what happens! She felt her breathing start to speed up as she started to hyperventilate. Stuck, alone. no one would even bother to come looking for me! She thought somberly as she tried, in vain, to regain her breathing. Who even gives a damn about an orphan? I have no one.. Her last few breaths turned into screams for help as she pounded the sand and started sobbing, screaming "SOMEBODY, ANYONE, HELP!"After some time the tingling in her toes traveled up her body as her breathing accelerated. Finally, she lost consciousness and lay there, sprawled out on the sand under the beating daytime sun.

Laura woke up groggily, avoiding looking around her through the seemingly blinding sunlight she closed her eyes and curled up, mentally taking stock. Hipbones, legs, arms, chest, collar bones, pain in head proves that that's still here. Fully clothed. Fully fully clothed, god I'm wearing my coat. Where did I go last night? she thought sitting bolt upright. She raised an eyebrow and stood up slowly "Well this is new." she said sceptically and twisted round with her feet planted to look around herself. "New and creepy." she decided and started to walk along the road with the idea that any road must lead to civilisation. Even creepy ones in the middle of nowhere.

A few minutes down the road and with no civilisation dawning over the never ending horizon Laura came to a standstill. She ran a hand through her dirty blonde hair and tied it up in a messy bun to get it out of her eyes, she needed to think - not something she'd had much use of in the last few weeks and she'd never been particularly good at problem solving, but she was sobering up and the growing knot of fear in her chest had to help clear the mind a little. Walking in a small circle she tried to work out where she was, why is it hot? I live in scotland, and there's sand everywhere and this isn't even a proper road. I can't have got this far out on my own, did someone put me here? Why would someone ...fly? they'd have to, yeah why would someone fly me out to the middle of knowwhere. That's a pretty expensive practical joke." She said getting more annoyed by her situation by the minute. She took off her coat and held it in her arms, aware that she was hardly dressed for a desert in thick tights, a ridiculously short skirt and one of those flimsy shirts that aren't any use to anyone but are always a ridiculous amount of money. She started to walk again, eyes narrowed in both suspicion and against the sun, hoping that any minute she'd work out where she was or some dessert rescue team would find her. "this is insane." she muttered.

White walls, white padded walls, that was all Michael could see and they all looked the same, they were the floor and the ceiling, interrupted only by a single white door with a small window. Michael wondered why he was there before finally remembering, they had put him here again. They who would not believe him, they who betrayed him and drugged him, they who... No he thought, that's just my paranoia talking. I have to remember that, because if I forget then I'll... Then I'll have to come back here again. Michael lay back against the padded walls, his arms were contained by the jacket he wore but he wasn't uncomfortable. You're okay Michael thought, you just have to stay here tonight and tomorrow you can tell them you're better, that you'll take your meds like a good boy, then you can go. Then I can escape. Then they'll leave me alone. Reassured Michael settled down, he was warm and comfortable, he was going to get better, he was going to reclaim his life.

Michael woke up, the white of the walls had changed, it was bright, so bright that it hurt. Then he realised, it was a light coming from the doorway, with one hand he gripped the padding behind him and with the other he shielded his eyes from the harsh light. It's just a dream he thought, it's all just a stupid dream. Through the light of the doorway Michael could see the silhouette of a figure forming, it was them, they were coming to get him,
What more do you want from me!?
He screamed out, what do they want? He thought. What more can they take from me. Then as the figure came closer, almost within touching distance, he thought What did they take from me before?

Slowly Michael woke up once again, and he found that a new colour had emerged, a dirty reddish yellow was all around him, rising and falling as he looked on and sticking to his body which was pressed against it. He looked up and saw a vast blue, he was outside. How am I outside? Michael asked himself, attempting to get his bearings he sat up and brushed the dirty sand off, only then to realise that the jacket which had restricted his movements had gone. He was clothed normally, casually in a hooded long sleeved tee shirt, jeans and converse trainers. He got up and looked at his surroundings, all around him was a yellow and red desert lined occasionally with jagged rocks, and a small distance away a dirt road seeming to go from horizon to horizon. Michael looked up, above him the sky was vast, with not a cloud to be seen and blemished only with the sun which beat down on him warmly, Michael smiled, he wasn't worried he was free, freer than he could ever remember. How he had got there he didn't know, it wasn't the first time memories had been taken from him This isn't the first time. Michael paused for a second, lost in thought but then he shook himself and began to walk toward the road I am lost and alone he thought to himself and laughed, because that was just the way it had always been, but I am free.

Laura kept walking, wondering what the point of all of this was, who just kidnaps someone ad dumps them in the middle of nowhere, when she heard a laugh, pausing she turned to stare in the direction is had come from, in the distance she noticed someone walking towards her. She debated walking over to him outloud, They could be some terrifying mass murderer, but they are a person and following this road doesn't seem like it'll take me anywhere useful. It's not like I've got anything to lose. Apprehensively she walked over to him, still unsure if she should be doing this. Biting back her fear she waved at the mysterious figure. Hey! she called out trying to get his attention. When she was waving she noticed a strange symbol on the back of her hand.

∯

"what the hell?" she muttered to herself, this was getting creepier by the minute.

Michael had been walking for what felt like hours, while he was enjoying his new found freedom Michael wished he could come across something new as the current set of colours were beginning to become as monotonous as the white walls of his padded cell back... Michael paused for a second as he tried to think, Back. Back what? Michael looked up to the sky as he attempted to remember, because there was something, a single thought that had been at the back of his mind since he woke up. What am I missing? Michael asked himself but it was already gone, slipped away into the back of his head. Speaking of which. Michael's hand moved to the back of his neck, there was a sore patch of some sort and rubbing it wasn't helping, a thought crossed Michael's mind. Maybe I was hit by something. Then Michael laughed aloud, just your paranoia talking again.

Shaking his head and still grinning slightly Michael started walking once again, he looked at the road below him and his smile faded as he began to think to himself How long can I last in this heat? What happens when I get hungry or thirsty? Having to worry about these sorts of things was baffling to Michael, having always been being closely watched he'd never had to worry about the material things, he had only ever had to think about what his head was going to do next, but now... For the first time Michael truly began to wonder where he actually was. He presumed this was the outback, but how he'd actually ended up here he couldn't imagine and his clothes weren't exactly suited to the environment... My clothes... Michael thought as a sense of familiarity washed over him, I've worn these clothes before. A long time ago.

Hey!
Michael looked up as he heard the shout, standing a little way from him was a girl. She was dressed in a simple shirt and a mini skirt, with a coat held in one hand, and the other... She was holding the other in front of her face, seeming to be looking at it intently. Michael observed that she was hardly dressed for this terrain, seeming very much like some late night clubber girl that had been picked up and roughly dropped here, very much like me. Michael thought to himself, minus the late night clubber girl part. With this humorous image in mind Michael waved a hand at her and smiled.
Hi!
He said, slightly over enthusiastically.

Laura dropped her hand quickly and held it stiffly by her side, not wanting anyone else to see the strange symbol just yet. She hurried over cursing her shoes on this sand. "Do you know where we are? I got a bit lost." she said, wanting to hide that she had no idea how she got there, she had a feeling that that wasn't something she should share with random people, this whole thing stank of some kind of set up.

Suspiciously Laura looked him up and down, he was all too happy for someone stuck in the desert, carefully she walked around him, surprised she stopped behind him having noticed a tattoo on the back of his neck.

❖

She glanced at her own hand and frowned, there's always a possibility that they could be linked, but come on loads of people have tattoos. Casually she asked, " so , err, how um when? did you get that tattoo thing?" She said awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck and laughing a little. This is why you spend the majority of your time drunk, communication is so hard.

She glanced at her own hand then shoved it in her pocket, this was going to be awkward, all she had to do was ask the guy if she knew how to get home not make friends...not that inquiring about tattoos is the best way to make friends.

As soon as Michael responded the girl, who had been staring so intently at her hand only a second ago seemed to lose interest in whatever was on it and hurry over. Probably a beetle. Michael thought to himself as she stopped in front of him and asked
Do you know where we are? I got a bit lost.
And again the thought struck him, where am I? He thought to himself trying desperately to jog his memory, and at the point another thought occurred to him, a thought that kept nagging him. How much have I forgotten?

Preoccupied Michael hadn't noticed that while he had been mulling over her question she had begun to circle him, looking up Michael saw that she was almost behind him. It wasn't threatening she just seemed almost weary, in a way she reminded him of a wild cat of some sort, checking this new person for any sign of a threat, and as he thought this, she stopped. Slowly Michael turned to face her, and in doing so saw her glancing at something before looking back to him but before he could really process this she asked,
so, err, how um when? Did you get that tattoo thing.
She said it awkwardly, with a forced casualness and a forced laugh. Michael didn't mind as he had always suffered with the same kind of awkwardness and knew the feeling, he decided at this point that he liked this person, not that Michael was the type to dislike anybody, most days.

Before he was really able to take in what she had said he noticed her once again glancing at something, and looking down he saw that it was her hand she had been glancing at, he caught a glimpse of black before she shoved her hand roughly into her pocket and it was at this point that Michael noticed he must have been standing there awkwardly staring at her ever since he said hello, around two minutes ago. Michael realised cursing himself internally for his social awkwardness and general rudeness in staring at her hand, after all, Michael thought. It's none of my business what's on her hand.

Realising that yet more precious seconds were going by with him just awkwardly staring at her Michael turned his attention to her questions.
No,
he started with, honestly enough as while he assumed they were in the outback she did not actually sound very Australian, then again neither do I. Michael reasoned, as being raised basically by doctors gave him a bit more of a standard English accent than most other Australians and moving on the the second question Michael decided to be honest.
I'm sorry, what tattoo?
Then realising how odd he must seem,
I go out drinking a lot, this wouldn't be a first time for me.
Michael only hoped his lie wouldn't show.

Alex was contempt with this new situation, he assumed these soldiers were escorting the pair hopefully to safety. However their sudden appearance confirmed the fact that whatever was happening was big, really big. Alex sat, legs stretched out on the metal floor of the truck as he contemplated his next move, then the girl across from him started talking.

"Uh umm I'm Lena" She stuttered, she seemed extremely nervous. Alex looked over at her as she started rubbing her ankle, she looked puzzled. "What?--You have one of these markings too right? But they aren't the same." She paused. "Why are we with these people?" Alex didn't have time to answer before she started panicking, her breathing was too fast. "I uh..don't feel too hot." Alex just watched as she hauled over and curled up, as if she was about to vomit. "I uh..I'm going to-" He had no time to react as she threw up over the floor of the truck and his shoes. He instantly brought his legs in. The pure anger easily seen on his face, he cursed under his breath as she apologised.

"Ugh that's fucking disgusting." The soldier in the driving seat said as he looked back to the pair. The soldier in the passenger seat leaned out of the open window and dropped a box of bottled water onto the bed of the truck, away from the throw-up.

"Use that to rinse it away, there's plenty there." He sounded like he expected it, and kept his professional tone. Alex leaned over, ripped open the box and grabbed a bottle. Opening it he let it all drain over his shoes and the metal floor of the truck. Wiping his now-white shoes with his hand he poured the rest of the bottle as he wiped. With his shoes now clean he sighed, obviously pissed off. "Don't worry about it. She had grabbed a bottle of water timidly and had started to drink. Alex used another bottle on the bed of the truck and soon enough the vomit had washed out of the holes around the edges of the back.

For what felt like mere minutes the truck drove but skidded to a stop yet again, and the grey haired soldier stepped out of the vehicle. Alex peered over the top of the cab and saw two people, who looked completely normal, nothing out of the ordinary about them apart from the fact they are in the middle of nowhere. They must be in the same predicament as us.

"You two have to come with us, we are taking you to safety." The guy stood, completely still, lost in what looked like his own head. He eyed the soldier with a stare of distrust. "We're going to help you, son. Pulling his hands into the sleeves of his long-sleeve t-shirt he trudged towards the vehicle. Taking Alex's offer of a pull up. The girl however was not having any of what the soldier had to say.

"You think I'm just going to trust you? I don't even know where I am!" She looked towards the back of the pick-up where she saw the three watching her. "Is this all just a big fucking joke? We are out in the middle of-"

"Miss, just climb into the truck, I won't ask again." The soldier interrupted her and seemed unfazed by the lack of obedience and bad attitude.

"If you think I'm just going to jump when you say jump and-" She had no time to finish her sentence as he pulled the pistol from the holster around his waist and cocked the weapon, aiming right at her chest with both hands on the gun he repeated his words slowly. The three in the back gasped but stayed in the truck.

"I won't ask again." His fair tone took a quick turn for the worst as his calm disposition changed into a fit of anger. The girl thought for a second before replying.

"You wouldn't dare." She was way too cocky for her own good.

Without any kind of countdown or warning the soldier shot, twice, in her direction. The bullets purposefully missed but the girl screamed in shock. Before she could recover the soldier burst forward and hit her over the head with with handle of the pistol and she dropped onto the sand with a thud. The three in the back just looked on, saying nothing. As her unconscious body was laid in the truck with the others the soldier gave them all an agitated stare, his eyes fell on them each individually, silently telling them not to piss around.

The truck started yet again and drove, for what felt like hours had passed until they came to a lone shack, along the dirt road they were driving on. The truck slid to a stop and the two soldiers jumped out. The three still conscious soon followed, the unconscious girl being carried by the guy who Alex still didn't have the name of. As the door to the shack was opened the soldiers walked in and walked to the far wall. The three followed them inside and stood while the soldiers pulled an old dusty rug back off the floor and lifted a trapdoor up. A metal staircase went down to what looked like a metal door. They all walked down until they reached the door and the soldier in front scanned his eye into an identification keypad next to it. the door slowly lifted and revealed an open area, where scientists and soldiers alike were waiting. The two soldiers disappeared into the crowd and a scientist stepped forward. The first thing Alex noticed was the identification card around his neck, the red letters spelling out the name Area-51 along the top in bold letters. Yep, aliens. He thought as he looked around the lobby.

"Alex, Lena, Michael--" He eyed the unconscious girl. "Laura. Please follow me to your accommodation, trust me all will be explained shortly, first we have to get you settled in." Michael, with Laura in his arms, stared in awe at all the personnel in front of them. He didn't like this one bit, surrounded by so many white coats--he wasn't ready to go back.

Following the soldier through the complex he led them to a door in a white corridor with so many doors that looked exactly the same. He scanned his badge on the electric lock and the door slid open, inside was what looked like a modern apartment. The three walked into the homely looking living room and stared in awe at the furniture and carpet, the place looked expensive. Mounted on the far wall was a huge flat-screen TV and below it was a unit with a DVD player and every games console including a ton of games. "We know you are all confused right now but we will explain everything shortly, just try to relax. Food and beverages can be ordered through this intercom system, also if there is anything else you need just call. Four doors through there lead to your own bedrooms which have connected personal bathrooms. Again if there is anything you need just buzz, we'll be listening and watching." Alex took note of the 'mirrors' and cameras dotted around the room. The door slid closed and the four were left alone, in the living room. Wasting no time Alex turned and opened a door to one of the bedrooms, closing it behind him he stared at the mirror on the wall behind a desk. Still in shock he collapsed onto the bed and closed his eyes, he just wanted this nightmare to end.

Laura woke up int he guy from before's arms and immediately panicked, kicking out at him and jumping onto the floor, like a startled chicken. " what just happened?" She asked a little shakily, standing up and looking around herself at the weirdly modern room. This was scary, and it's not like you can pass out-be knocked out- in a dream so it had to be real. Slowly she walked a small circuit of the room, her eyes darting suspiciously across everything and pausing on the multiple cameras, she twisted round to face the other guy, "sorry what was your name?" She asked, moving off to the other side of the room before he had a chance to reply, she crouched down in the front of the TV.

"why is all of this nessasary? Laura asked gesturing to the games consoles , more to herself than anyone but she wouldn't object to an answer, " I mean, they kidnap us, dump us in the middle of a desert then kidnap us again? Only to dump us here? Or we;" here she stood up again and gestured to Michael " some how got really ...wasted together, ended up in a desert, which makes no sense because Scottish, and what are you? Australian...? She paused thoughtfully and ran a stressed hand through her hair, when she was thinking her hands never stopped moving, gesturing and trying to articulate a fluid thought process that made no sense even to her into something somewhat solid, "and get picked up by the army? If they were the army? I mean I doubt they were because like why would they care about us? Maybe we're being held to ransom somehow? But then why all this?" She asked speaking faster and waving her arms around more as she got more and more frustrated by the whole situation. She launched herself at the sofa and sat there staring suspiciously at the ceiling.

Before this new girl Michael had met had a chance to respond to his question Michael heard a rumbling noise and turning to it noticed a black pick up truck heading toward them from along the road he'd come down, their here. Michael clutched his head briefly as the thoughts began to circle, he needed his meds, how long could he have gone without them. Usually this began to happen after a day or two but why I am out here without them? This clear thought popped into his head and he looked up, the truck had pulled up alongside them. Perhaps I'm not supposed to be here at all. Perhaps I... He paused, they've come for me.

A serious looking man got out of the truck he wore sunglasses and some kind of military uniform, what could I have done to attract the attention of the army? Michael thought slightly scared now.
You two have to come with us, we are taking you to safety.
The man had a pistol holstered at his side. What did they take from me before? Michael paused as this thought which had been plaguing him popped up again, then he looked up at the man and another thought, the most scary one of all seemed to flash into his head Kill them. It must have shown on his face because the man looked at him reassuringly and said
We're going to help you, son.
With those words in mind Michael thought of the doctors, the similar things they had said, he tried to keep himself calm, things were bad he accepted that he needed his meds and these people would give them to him surely. He just needed to keep calm, so staring at the ground Michael meekly got into the back of the truck.

Thoughts were going round and round his head, it was as if his mind was some kind of bizarre theme park and the thoughts. The same thoughts, thoughts he couldn't even acknowledge before they were gone and replaced by other What did they? Where am I? I have too. I have too... Why am I here? he knew there were other people beside him people like the girl he'd met and more of Them. I have to stop them. From where he had been standing he heard a couple of gunshots, his eyes shot open and he sat up. I'll kill them. Inside his head the gunshots were echoed, they were different somehow and accompanied by something else, screaming. Confused he stopped and the men placed the girl in with them, anger flashed in his eyes and he pulled the girl away from them. I have to stop them. He thought. I'll kill them if I have too. I'll kill them. I'll... What did they take from me before? He looked over the girl she was unconscious but alive for now, I have to save them. What did they take from me before? He did his best to place himself between the men and the girl, gunshots and screaming were echoing in his head What did they take from me before.

It had been hours. Hours of silence, the girl still hadn't woken up. Michaels head had cleared slightly, but the paranoia was taking hold. He was going from acknowledging that he needed help to plotting his escape, he needed his meds very badly, he knew that soon he would be at the point where he would refuse them, then they'd have to lock him up again. The men with the guns, Kill them. The thought came into his head but he repressed it, he just had to calm down.

The truck pulled up next to a lonely shack along the side of the road, the men got out and order the rest of them out, a couple moved forward to take the unconscious girls but Michael moved between them, I have to stop them. Michael thought picking the girl up himself, I have to kill them. Michael looked around and considered running, the other two were already on their way to the shack, he doubted he'd be able to escape by himself and he wasn't going to leave the rest of them there anyway so he got down from the truck and walked toward the shack eyeing the men as he did so, looking at their, guns. I'll kill them. He thought. I'll kill them for what they took.

Inside the shack the men opened a trap door revealing a set of metal stairs, Michael didn't like this Where are they taking us? he asked himself. Descending down the stairs a metal door was revealed which one of the men opened using a eye scanner, walking through some kind of hub or lobby was revealed to him full of men and... Doctors? This was better, much more normal for him, he had enjoyed his free stroll but he needed his meds and he felt even better when the men with guns disappeared into the crowd and were replaced with one of the doctors who began to speak to them.
Alex, Lena, Michael--
He paused.
Laura. Please follow me to your accommodation, trust me all will be explained shortly, first we have to get you settled in.

The doctor led them through many identical looking corridors, the place was confusing but Michael observed these places usually are, he knew he didn't have long and hoped they would get his meds to him soon but he didn't ask as he wasn't good with new people and also happened to have an unconscious girl in his arms at that moment. Finally they arrived at one door that seemed to be their final destination, though there were many almost identical looking ones along the corridor. Using his badge to open the door the doctor led them inside revealing a well furnished apartment like space, Michael was in no position to admire it though as he could feel his grip on reality beginning to slip. The doctor was explaining something but Michael wasn't listening as his mind began to spin again, he closed his eyes and tried to block out the sound of gunshots just barely catching
Again if there is anything you need just buzz, we'll be listening and watching.
Knowing this was probably his last chance he tried to speak but at that moment the doctor left, the door sliding closed behind him.

Presumably awoken from the sound of the door closing the girl in his arms regained consciousness and kicking out at him sent him stumbling as he was already weak, all of his energy's focused on his mind, he leaned heavily against the wall as the girl, obviously panicked looked frantically around her and attempted to catch the attention of those around her, she was mentioning things like kidnapping and ransoms which just made Michael all the worse, he reached out across the wall for the intercom as thoughts began to resurface in his head. Stop them. Kill them. They took them from you. They took them from you. Michael kill them before they kill us. Pushing the button Michael only managed a few short words.
Amisulpride, Clozapine, Quetiapine.
Then Michael slid to the ground, curling into a ball as everything span, gunshots were ringing out from somewhere and someone was screaming. Someone was screaming.

Darkness, it surrounded Alex. The air he was breathing was stale, and warm. He looked around and didn't recognise anything. The room he was in was unfamiliar, he was in the corner on a beanbag of all things.

Suddenly there was a loud bang and smash above him, and the sound of a creature on all fours pattered away. Alex was deathly still, a bead of sweat rolled down his head. Silently and slowly getting up he used a wooden support beam to balance himself on his weak legs. What the fuck was that? is all he could think as images of the creature he saw in his house flashed through his mind. "Hello? If you're human say-" Suddenly his words were cut off as the door across the room and up a wooden staircase was thrown open violently and an intense white light filled the room, he was in a basement. He had no time to move as a humanoid creature on all fours came crawling down the stairs towards him, making a horribly loud screeching noise. Alex fell backwards onto his ass and crawled backwards himself, but he instantly hit a wall. But the white light and creature had gone.

He looked around, breathing fast and heavy. He was in a small room, the floor and wall was soft; padded. He looked up to the door which was also padded, it had a small window at eye level. Alex stood up slowly, weary of the door. Pressing his body up against the wall to the side of the door he counted down from three, turned, and looked through the glass. The only this that he saw was a grey face with wide, pitch black eyes staring back at him. It had tiny slits where it's nose should've been and it's mouth opened wider than any human mouth could. In the second he had taken to look at the creature it screeched again, and Alex jumped back as the door was hit, as if it was trying to get in.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

The glass in the widow cracked as the door was hit continuously. A bright light now seeped in through the window as Alex turned around and held his head, ears covered and eyes closed, against the wall of the cell. As the door was smashed open behind him Alex screamed and was dragged by his hair out into the blinding light.

The creature released it's grip and the light suddenly vanished and Alex swung around with his fists hoping to hit whatever it was that had grabbed him. There was nothing there, he was in a room different from the cell. It was dark but there was a desk lamp turned on on a bedside table. In the bed was a figure, snoring. Alex immediatly rushed around and pulled the blankets off of the figure, it was a man sleeping. He woke up instantly and looked around, noticing Alex.

"You're not Laura..." His voice was raspy, he turned over and felt the other side of the bed. "Who the fuck are you?" His voice got louder and Alex moved backwards, this didn't feel like a dream. As the man jumped up he slid a baseball bat from under the bed and lifted it towards Alex. "You better get the hell out of my apartment." Alex didn't even think twice before he acted and threw himself at the man, caught off guard the bat was not raised and Alex quickly knocked it away. On top of the man Alex held his face against the ground.
"WHY AM I HERE? WHO ARE YOU?" Alex screamed at the unknown man. Suddenly the man's eyes widened and he started screaming, muffled by Alex's hand. Looking up Alex saw the legs of one of the creatures stood in the corner of the room, watching the two with it's shark-like eyes. Pushing himself up he sprinted at the figure as the man continued screaming, just before Alex hit it however he was outside, running on top of his apartment building. Before he could stop he slid straight off the top of the building. The air rushed past his face as he screamed, watching the ground coming closer towards him. The last thing he saw was at least six figures stood in a circle around where he would have landed. All looking up at him with those wide black eyes.

Alex jolted awake and screamed the loudest he ever had. Tears and sweat rolled down his face and he shuffled off the bed and backwards crawled into the corner. The room was brightly lit, it was where he fell asleep. Across the room was a mirror, and in the corner there was a camera. Other than that the room was decorated well, it looked rather average, like a teenagers bedroom. He calmed his breathing as a voice came on over an intercom system.

"It's just nightmares, Alex. Would you like anything? A towel, refreshments?"

He used the wall to get on his feet. "No." He eyed the obvious one-way mirror, walked out the room and into
the lounge. In here there were three other people, the people he recognised from before. He stood still for only a second, eyeing each of them as they watched him back. He only had two words to say.

"It's aliens."

He silently moved over to the white sofa and sat down, his face buried in his hands.

Lena's dreams were weird. They were full of screaming and horrors and what looked like monsters. All of a sudden, she was in a dark dark room, behind what looked to be a two way glass window. On the other side, she saw Alex, thrashing about and screaming. At first glance it looked as if he was just alone having a nightmare but after a few chilling minutes of watching him, it was evident he was being attacked.something is wrong here She felt the hair stand up on her arms as she watched Alex try and evade his attackers. This all seemed too real for just a dream. Lena's breathing started to speed up as she searched for a way out. It was dark all around her.

Where was she? How could she get out? Was this a dream? She felt some strange force, tugging her, pulling her. It felt as if her body was being moved. She curled up on the floor of the dark dark room and tried to wake up, but she couldn't. She couldn't shake the ominous feeling of the room and sensed that someone or something was in there with her. Dark shapeless figures began to encircle her and she tried screaming for help, but as much as she tried, no sound came from her lips.

Finally, her voice broke though the invisible barrier and she heard the delayed sound of her screams as she sat up in her bed. The room felt way too small for her liking and so Lena ran out into the main room. He throat tightened as she saw one of the guys who she came in here with curled up in a ball on the ground near the door. He was muttering to himself and shaking violently. Quickly she rushed over to help him but as she got within arms length he lashed out at her. "No! Stay away from me! Stay away. I know what you did." She backed up as he shouted louder and started crying at the same time. "I know what you took."

Suddenly the door to the lounge opened and two men in military jumpsuits followed by two scientists in lab coats walked into the room. The men in jumpsuits pushed past Lena and picked the crying Michael up, he kicked and fought but they easily dragged him into his room, followed by the scientists and closed and locked the door. Moments later everything fell quiet and the door opened, the men walked back out and one of the scientists turned to Lena and Laura who had seen the whole thing.

"Michael is a diagnosed schizophrenic, we've giving him medication. For now it's best if you let him rest."

Lena simple nodded, and sat on the couch. This was all too much for her to handle.

Laura tried to ignore the boy who seemed to be going insane, turning her head a little when he collapsed and raising an eyebrow when the men came in. Who the hell are they? She thought wanting to go yell at them, but considering how she was brought here that wouldn't be a good idea and she should probably learn from that experience. Actually screw that, medication, they can't keep me here with crazy people and more worryingly suddenly remove the crazy people for unknown medication.

She swung herself off of the couch and walked over to the men, "Sorry? medication? schizophrenic? What the hell? Why are we being kept here with dangerous schizos? Who the fuck are you? What is this?" She asked, aware of the onslaught of questions she slowed down and walked right up to the men. "You are going to let us go right? because this is crazy and I don't like being trapped, no matter how nice the cage is." Laura glared up at the men, the height difference making her threat seem a little ridiculous.

The next thing Michael knew he was lying in a unfamiliar bed, around him the room also unfamiliar was spinning ever so slightly, thinking back Michael wondered if anything he could remember was true, he remembered the desert, the military, he remembered how bad he had been but surely it couldn't be true. Sitting up Michaels fears were confirmed as a voice over an intercom piped up, "I hope you're feeling better now Michael". "Um, yeah I guess," he replied hesitantly. "Where am I anyway?" He asked, in as pleasant and curious a tone as he could muster. There was a slight pause, "You're safe." The voice replied, then added "If you'll proceed through to the lounge breakfast will be served shortly" Nodding Michael turned and swung his legs over the side of the bed, he was fully clothed, and in normal clothing this was fine but the clothes were a little dirty and sandy and looking over to the mirror he saw he had a enormous bed head.

As he entered the room he immediately sensed a tension, their were two people in there already, one of which he recognised as the girl he had met, or he remembered meeting in the desert yesterday, the other seemed familiar but he couldn't remember where he'd seen her. Then he remembered, she had been on the truck when the military had found them, or had that happened. He remembered something, shooting maybe or screams but he passed it off as hallucination. He gave a quiet "Hi." before rushing to his seat feeling eyes on his back, or perhaps it was the people behind the intercom. Before he had a chance to find out, or to socialise further though a man he remembered from the truck came out of one of the rooms, he didn't stop to greet anyone or socialise but simply said two words, "It's aliens."
