Lili Dean

a character in “ABNI”, as played by cirrus_sd

Description

To make this simple, try imagining the most beautiful woman in the world. If you are like most people attracted to women, chances are Lili would come pretty close to your mental image. With a slim body and curves in all the right places, Lili is one knockout of a gal. Miss Dean also has a huge mass of long, wavy red hair and pale, almost marble like complexion which, did I mention, is flawless. In fact, the only possible flaw with this girl's body is the fact that she doesn't have feet...rather, she has bird claws in place of them. She can still wear heels, but it's pretty inconvenient, especially on dates. Because of this, she tends to bend her legs a little more than what would be deemed "normal" when she walks.

Despite this, Lili is pretty proud of her body, and dresses to show it off. She'd walk around naked if she could, but unfortunately for her, it isn't exactly legal, even in Vegas. She's a name-brand girl, and turns up her nose at thrift stores, regardless of the fact that it is much cheaper to shop there.

Personality

Lili and her brother aren't exactly the sharpest crayons in the box, but she is definitely the more street savvy of the two, having had to walk many nights alone along the alleys of NYC. She is a little more realistic than her brother in terms of expectations, and is slowly growing disillusioned with the world and her life. Although she enjoys sex and drugs as much as he does, she secretly wants to go to college and get an actual job that doesn't involve stripping or dancing. She doesn't like children or babies at all, and never wants any children of her own. She has a hot temper, but is gullible, something her brother abuses with glee. She enjoys reading tabloids and looking up the lives of Hollywood. She is a reality show fiend, but is annoyed by shows such as America's Next Top Model and the Miss Universe pageants, since she doesn't think any of them are attractive. She is a vain girl who will spend hours perfecting her already perfect face before a night out, and goes in and out of different trends.

Equipment

Lili usually has a mirror with her wherever she goes, and she is never without her enormous purse which is filled with cosmetics and other things. Her favorite pair of shoes to wear are her heels. She can run as fast in her heels as she can without them, and is surprisingly quite agile in them, never falling once in them. Occasionally, she might have a water bottle in her purse, but its contents are usually alcoholic. Lili has good balance and can dance well. She is also a quite accomplished kick-boxer, and can occasionally turn invisible when in the shadows.

History

Lili and her brother are halflings. Their mother was a succubus who grew bored of caring for them and abandoned them when they were two. They grew up together in a children's home before resorting to the streets away from the restrictive life of rules, schools, and punishments. The two are close, despite their fights and quarrels. Around the age of 20, they left the East Coast for the glamour of Hollywood. Las Vegas distracted them, and was closer, so they stayed there. Lili worked as a go-go dancer and occasional stripper to help support them as they lived their life of sex and alcohol. On one drunken night, Lili and her brother accidentally bumped into a rather nasty demon who had just robbed a store. After a trade of insults, the duo made short work of the demon, and the money. The next morning, a short Asian man was at their door, accusing them of stealing his money, but promising to let them off the hook if they joined in a business venture he had been planning to do...

So begins...

KJ

He followed Lili out, not having a book to look at anymore. Flopping down on the chair, contemplating the ingredients for total destruction of this thing, he noticed the female twin's pleas to Monica. The human girl was still hesitant, but seeming about to break.

"I'm sure you'll have fun," he offered, a side note to his own mental processing. "Boys, dancing, free drinks, that's what you girls like right?"

"Not...particularly..." Monica admitted, eyes shifting to Lili. She huffed, hand going to her pocket at once. The bulge there indicated she still had a bag of gummy worms. Strange human. "Fine," she let out, stuffing a blue worm into her mouth. "But not all night!"

KJ laughed.

Sam

Sam walked into the kitchen, pulling out a beer. "You don't like getting free drinks?" he asked after hearing Monica's answer, "I thought all girls liked free drinks! Who wouldn't like a free drink?"

"Who say drink is free? You think everything is free? I pay for everything!" Shen shouted at him. He tried to swipe the beer bottle away from Sam, but the halfling immediately pulled it a safe distance away from him.

Shen

He let Sam keep the beer. He had more important things to attend to. Stomping over to the living room, he pulled the plug for the TV and stood in front of it.

"Now listen! I have enough money for now, but we need be more responsible! No more breaking thing. No more property destruction. No more buy stupid thing," he shot a glare at Lili who did her best to look uninterested, "Credit card is not free money! Someone have to pay for that too! And everyone need not buy so much alcohol! I put alcohol limit! One six-pack OR bottle per person per week! No more!"

Sam and Lili immediately began protesting. "That's ridiculous!" "What else are we supposed to do?" "Alcohol isn't expensive!" "It's not like we're wasting it!"

"Per month! Per month now!" Shen shrieked, red-faced. "You keep shout, I make per year!"

No further comments were heard.

"Good! Now, instead of spending money on stupid thing, we can spend on thing we actually need. Like equipment for fight. Or books. How is human neighbor have more book on monster than us? So I cut household budget to make for more room for other thing. Monica," his tone immediately changed to a sweeter, not so loud voice, "Will you please help me to make budget finalized?"

Monica

The Asian man seemed angry, the red on his face not at all showing the amount of frustration he obviously felt with everyone.

KJ lazily raised his hand after everything. Before Monica could reply to Shen, the red demon spoke. "How do we know Tex is a human?"

Monica rolled her eyes and followed Shen into the tiny office.

It wasn't as cluttered as her first arrival and she sat down across from Shen wondering what he needed help with. Having all the numbers still in her head from yesterday, she started tapping her leg as if typing on a calculator, redoing equations, shifting things around, making sure she added in the small amount of insurance they had. Everything seemed accounted for. Now...how much did Shen bring back with him? That was the question.

She smiled a little to herself. Working with numbers seemed worth it. Going to the club with a monster hell bent on stalking her and then eating her? Not so much. So eagerly, she sat on the edge of her seat, needing a distraction.

Shen and Monica went over the numbers for the rest of the afternoon. The Asian had brought back a near fortune, close to a million dollars (a small sum to him, but nevertheless a sum he was in no way eager to part with, as he told Monica) in untold treasures that he was quite secretive about, refusing to give specifics when asked. Eventually the sun began to set, and Lili and Sam prepped up for the night club, even if the latter was only supposed to be there for protection. It wasn't long before Lili stole Monica away from Shen and decked her out as well, applying makeup, doing hair, spritzing the mortal up as much as she could without being pushed away.

With the full moon high in the sky, a dark mass slithered around the hidden shadows of the city, enchanting and devouring its prey silently and leaving a bloody trail in its wake as it neared the Green Spider, the smells of female mortals intoxicating....

Lili

The red-head could hardly keep herself contained.

She was the first one out of the car and hopped up and down impatiently as she waited for Monica.

"Hurry up! Oh my god, can't you hear the music? We're going to miss everything!" An exaggeration, she knew, but couldn't Monica see how urgent this was? Lili turned and took in the flashing lights, the loud music, the high energy. She could hardly wait to go inside.
"COME ON!" she said, turning back to the car.

Monica

She slipped out before Sam, pulling down her dress for the millionth time it felt like. What Lili decided to dress her in was short, strapless and felt like it would fall off too easy for comfort. Worse still, she didn't have her glasses. Lili said it would cover her makeup and her lovely face. Monica was sure her face looked more annoyed or disgruntled than lovely at the moment.

"Can I go back to doing calculations?" she sighed, fingers fiddling with the hem of the dress. The heels she was in threatened to break her ankles with each tiny step she took. She felt so small and exposed compared to everyone else lined up outside. Smiles popped everywhere and all she wanted to do was hide. Some actress I'll be...

"What are you scared of?" KJ teased, hopping out and adjusting the black button up shirt he had donned two seconds before leaving. Monica was surprised he was even there, his skin standing out for one, not to mention the horns. He seemed to feel her eyes analyzing him. "Don't worry," he assured, patting her shoulder. "No one says anything with drugs in their system."

"Drugs?" Monica squeaked. She clutched her purse, holding only her cell phone and gummy worms, to her middle. "I don't feel safe you guys."

"What was the name of your guy? Did he get us on the list?" KJ started forward, ignoring Monica's fears completely.

Sam

Sam didn't want to be too rude, especially since Monica was new and clearly wasn't as comfortable as Lili in terms of body image, but ironically, every time Monica pulled down her dress his eyes followed as well. There wasn't nearly as much to look at as there was with Lili (not that he checked her out) but what was there was pleasing, nonetheless.

Sam slid out of the car second to last, following KJ. Shen was the last, and he had already bolted for cover, saying he would watch from afar. Apparently clubbing wasn't his thing, which was a shame. That, or he was secretly a voyeurist....

"We better be on the list!" Sam voiced, crossing his arms. He didn't deck himself out and chop off his tail to wait in a line. Speaking of, he figured he had about an hour before his tail would start growing agan. He didn't think he'd have to worry about it for the night, but it would be safe to make a bathroom check at least once...

"I...I don't think we got a name," Lili said, "But I remember his face! Maybe we can find him. Besides, even if we're not on the list at first, I have ways of changing that." She said the last bit seductively, and she headed towards the front of the line. Sam rolled his eyes, but grinned nonetheless. His sister had also taken measures to hide her abnormality, wearing thigh high go-go boots with five inch stiletto heels and a sleek shine. It was clear that her primary interest that night was clubbing.

After about a minute, Lili returned. "We're on the list," she said with a grin, refusing to reveal whether they had been on it to begin with or not. Not that it mattered. She and Sam quickly ushered the others through, and they entered the club.

Monica

The loud music dulled her senses too much. Body shaking with each pump of bass, she stuck close to Sam who was right in front of her. Lights dazed the edges of her vision as she squinted around the multitude of bodies grinding, bumping and rubbing. She didn't understand anything that was happening, but it felt like she had walked straight into a clothed orgy.

"What are we supposed to do?" she half-yelled into Sam's ear so he could hear. "I...I'm not the best dancer..."

KJ must have heard because he strolled up on her other side, warm arm curling around her shoulders. "It's hardly dancing, Human."

Before she knew it, she was against him, his red hands on her hips, guiding her to the rhythm of the nearly incoherent song playing over the hundreds of speakers. Bodies collided with them every so often, but Monica did want to fit in, despite her better judgement that this whole place was a breeding ground for idiots. If KJ liked it, it couldn't be so bad, right? Monica figured he had standards, same as her. If he could so easily let loose...perhaps she should too?

Her fingers dug into his shirt to balance a bit better in these ridiculous shoes and she followed his suggestions.

"Good," he urged, voice sounding different. He was actually smiled, canines sharp and eyes bright. "Just like that." Was he actually having fun?

Monica's cheeks were red from the heat of the room and wondering if she looked like a dork or not. But she seemed to be doing okay, because KJ let go and started dancing himself. In fact, a circle seemed to have formed around her, several other males visible, and not all human.

"Oh..." she muttered, pausing in step.

"Don't stop," KJ urged, turning her around until she faced Sam. "Here, Sam, show her more. I'll get us drinks."

The red demons vanished into the blinking lights as Monica's face reddened even more faced with Sam. "I...I'm not...I..." He was rather handsome, she had to admit and dancing in such a way seemed a little inappropriate or...shameful or...vulnerable. "Sorry..." she sighed, pushing her hair behind her ears. Over his shoulder, she saw Lili in all her unabashed beauty, all over another guy. Monica swallowed hard.

Sam

"What the hell are you saying sorry for?" he asked with a laugh, "You're doing great! Besides, if you're still feeling nervous, that will all go away once you've had a drink or two." Sam winked.

A familiar beat reverberated against the walls, and Sam shouted from excitement and recognition, joining in with Lili's matching high-pitched scream. The two caught eye contact, their grins just growing larger. "Oh my god, I love this song!" he said, turning back to Monica and taking her hands, "Time to grind, babe!"

The chorus hit, and he sang the words, along with the rest of the club, pointing his and Monica's arms to the window and the wall as instructed and grinding up against her--though not too aggressively. Lili had somehow maneuvered herself closer to them, and half-shouted to Monica, "Just follow what the song says! Get low!" And she demonstrated, attracting a ton of stares.

Sam laughed. "I don't know if Monica's up for that yet," he said. Which didn't bug him all that much. He had danced with shy girls before. They often turned out to be surprisingly good dancers in the end. Especially after a couple drinks.

He twirled the human around and danced behind her, still holding her fingers lightly. "Sometimes this helps," he said, moving her arms upward. Lili had already disappeared back into the crowd.

The song changed, and Sam once again yelled in approval. "I love this song too!" he exclaimed, and he twirled her around, slipping his arm around her waist. "This one's a an easy one. You just jump when the chorus hits and then get your freak on during the rest of it."

Monica

She did as instructed, watching other girls and holding Sam's hands from her nerves. She couldn't believe she was going along with this, but the adrenaline, the jumping, the hot room, the drinks that KJ somehow kept coming...She found herself giggling like a fool and suddenly bumping right up against a familiar looking blonde guy.

"Well hey," he slurred, alcohol on his breath. The music wasn't slowing down and he easily grabbed her hips to rock to the beat. "I was lookin' for you. Nice dress."

Monica pulled away from him, not like the implication. "Yeah it is," she agreed, a bit too teasingly, but the booze only made her brain function less. Laughing a little, she pulled out of his grasp, eyebrows high. "Thanks for the invite," she added, then spun back around, seeing Sam and Lili in a group just a few paces away. How they got separated, she didn't remember, but figured that was part of the fun.

Someone grabbed her wrist. "Hey!"

"What are you doing?" she yelled, tugging away from the blonde guy.

"You don't just walk away from Chuck Marks."

"Uh, I think I just did." And she turned to leave again.

Again, he grabbed her arm. "You're not leaving, babe."

"Babe?" she exclaimed, dizzy from all the turning back and forth. She could barely see his face. "Let go."

"Not a chance, sweetheart." Spinning her around, he held her backside against him, his drunken slurs warm in her ear and bulge in his pants not hidden. She couldn't push free. The lights spun like fireflies and the music drowned her voice.

"S...Sam..." she tried to shout, but his mouth found hers. To any onlooker, it appeared she was into it, the way he was making her move. Thankfully, she got a hand free and pushed his face away. "Get off!"

Lili

The energy was just as intoxicating as the alcohol, and the song choices were perfect. Lili twerked, grinded, twisted and freaked all over the place, her smile practically plastered on her face. This was her scene, with the stares she was getting and all the free drinks in addition to the ones KJ was already bringing her.

A Jay-Z song transitioned on, the memorable opening hook pounding throughout the club. "Yeah!" she shouted. A familiar face popped up in front of her, and she danced with Sam, the two slamming down in perfect rhythm together. She heard cat calls and felt the eyes, sensed the attention, and she loved it. She could tell Sam liked it too. The two together easily made the best dancing pair.

Sam was quickly taken by another girl and Lili took a brief break from booty-popping to down her drink. As she did, she saw a familiar looking guy getting all over Monica. "Hey, Hey Sam!" she said, pulling him away from his partner, "That's...that's the guy we saw." She pointed just as the blond shoved his lips onto Monica's. Drunk as she was, Lili still remembered the guy had a girlfriend--she was pretty but had awfully ashy elbows--and frowned. Sam had already barreled towards the pair. Lili followed until another drink was shoved towards her. She took it enthusiastically, but kept a watchful eye on Sam. At least, as watchful as she could attempt.

Sam

Monica had already pushed the guy off her when Sam arrived, but he helped put distance between the two by taking her hand and pulling him beside him. "Hey!" he slurred, "This is our human! Go get your own!"

Lili

She screamed when she saw her brother get punched. Sam staggered back, but wasn't drunk enough to fall over. Lili immediately rushed to his side. "Dude what the hell is your problem!?" she demanded, helping Sam regain his balance. "If Monica doesn't want to dance with you, then..." Suddenly the guy ran away, Monica with him. Insulted, and unaware that KJ had appeared, she chased after him. "Hey! HEY DICKFACE! COME BACK HERE AND--oh, thanks!" she chugged down the shot before resuming her chase, "FIGHT LIKE A MAN!"

She almost lost him, distracted temporarily by another favorite song, but finally ran head on into him. "You!" She grabbed his shirt, pulling him away from Monica, "Don't you dare leave when I'm talking to you? Do you understand? You don't even deserve that stick of a girlfriend, and--" Suddenly Lili froze mid-sentence, ears perked. Despite the loud music, a strange, haunting, familiar melody ebbed faintly over it. Eyes wide, she let go of Chuck and grabbed Monica's hand, dragging her back towards Sam and KJ, not even stopping once for a drink.

"SAM! KJ!" she shrieked, "It's here! I can hear it!"

Monica

It was soft, like a feather, but feathers didn't make sounds. Monica giggled a little bit, gazing out over the crowds. The men stood confused, their partners no longer waving their hips or downing drinks. No, this song, the melody of heaven, dripped down over their ears and whispered exactly what was true.

They were eternal life. They were needed, not objects, but pure female energy that deserved better than the life they led.

Female. Eternal. The mother.

Monica gazed up and saw the shadow growing in the sky light, the enormous power emanating from the God that could shield stars and swallow the moon.

"It's him," she gasped, echoed by every female around her. Intoxicated. Begging. Please, please take us...take us...

KJ

He knew the night of fun wouldn't last long. And just when he was ready to clock a human too.

"Sam, get Monica to safety," he instructed, tossing the limp human his way. She was giggling like mad, reaching up to the ceiling like a mad woman, trying to croon, trying to speak. "Oh wait," he stopped, grabbing Monica's arm. He extracted a knife, slid a red line over her wrist and easily collected the blood in small bowl, also stuffed in his pocket. "Blood of the victim," he remarked, smiling.

Then he faced Lili, hoping she could keep it together. "You have the rose thorns? Or was that Shen?"

Tex

In his living room, he lounged, feet up, bare.

The ghost girl slipped in.

"Do you think they're alive?" she asked dreamily.

Tex smiled. He sipped his brown-colored drink.

"Does it matter?"

Shen

The dragon waited outside, eyes scanning, trying to locate the dark mass before it would hit the night club. He couldn't hear it, which bugged him, but he could sense it. Its presence. It was close. Very close. He just didn't know how close. And he couldn't see it. The dancing women he could see in the club didn't really help either.

Hey. Dragons have hormones too.

An eerie change in the music alerted him to check the area again. The dancing had suddenly stopped, and from what he could see, all the women had suddenly become entranced. Shit. Was it here already?

Following the plan, he shifted back into a human and slid down the tree. When he reached the bottom, he felt his pockets, expecting the rose thorns....

but felt nothing! Panicking he felt himself all over. Where were the stupid roses? Did he leave them in the car? Well then his keys....Shit! Those were gone too! Or did KJ have them? Eyes searching frantically, he realized he didn't have the time to look for them. He ran to the small drug store across the street, hoping they had roses for sale...

Lili

The song was overpowering, drowning out the club music, and she couldn't get away from it no matter where she turned. Her hands were over her ears, but it still spoke to her. Wanting her. Louder than before. More persuasive than before. Was this what Daisy had heard?

Promises circled around her head, a teasing voice trying to get her to uncover her ears. "No, no!" she shouted, but her grip was already slackening. Did KJ ask her something? Rose thorns? "I...I don't know..." she said, temporarily distracted, "I don't...." her voice dwindled off again, the song calling louder. "KJ, keep talking to me!" she ordered, desperation in her voice.

Sam

Safety? Where was that? He couldn't even see this thing, much less hear it. Maybe...uh...the bathroom? Obviously they couldn't go outside. That's where it was.

The bathroom it was, then. Sam dragged the unresponsive girl to the back of the club, away from the loud pumping noise and the other hypnotized ladies. Without thinking, he went into the men's bathroom, pushing Monica into one of the few stalls and locking it. "Hey, Monica," Sam said, shaking her, "Monica, can you hear me?" Should he leave her? KJ wouldn't be able to take this thing alone. There was Shen...where was he?? Wasn't he supposed to be here? And Lili....He shook Monica again. "HEY!"

KJ

A lot of help she'll be...

KJ grabbed her arm, yellow eyes inches from her own. "Look at me," he ordered, the men in the room starting to freak out as the ladies started chanting and basically worshiping the thing. Whatever they heard, it better have been damn beautiful. "Stay with me, don't let go of my hand."

Through the crowd he pulled her, knocking humans out of the way with ease as the ladies stumbled with joy and the guys yelled in shock at KJ's face. "Yeah, yeah," he sighed, pulling Lili to the DJ booth. By then, the DJ was long gone, music no longer playing. KJ snatched up the large headphones and slammed them down on Lili's ears. Hopefully that helped clear her head a little.

"Rose thorns! You! or Shen!"

Monica

She giggled in Sam's face. "It wants me," she said, eyelids drooping and a single finger trailing down Sam's chin. "No one else likes me, you know?" Laughing again, she leaned back on the stall wall, arms up and eyes closing. "He makes me feel...Oh I don't know..." Brown eyes opening, she hurriedly grabbed Sam's hands. "Like dancing...or..." Roughly, he pulled his palms on to her breasts, half-exposed in the dress she wore.

"Like that," she said, staring up at his face dreamily.

Shen

"Fifteen dollars for bouquet?" Shen shouted, "That's daylight robbery! You rob me! I only need one rose anyway. I only need thorns!"

"Hey, I have to make a living too!" the clerk said, "How many mouths do you have to feed beside your own?"

"But I only need thorns! How you going to charge me $15 for whole bouquet if I don't even need it? I'll just chop off thorns anyways!"

"If you chop off thorns, you'll have to pay for the whole thing!"

"No one likes the thorns anyways! They always chop them off!"

The two bickered and argued, neither wanting to back down. Eventually, Shen forked over 5 dollars for the bouquet's worth of thorns and a single ziploc bag. "I never do business here again!" he shouted, and slammed the door as loud as he could before hurrying over to the club.

He was barely ten feet away from the entrance when he was suddenly shot several yards backwards. "A barrier?!?" he cursed in Chinese before shifting into a dragon, the bag of thorns clutched tightly in his claws. "MOVE ASIDE!" he boomed loudly. The beast, which he just barely saw with his powerful eyes, refused to budge, or even listen, to busy enthralling the women below. It was beating against the skylight, hoping to break the strong glass. Its efforts were halted when Shen slammed himself against it, knocking it off the building. "YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM ME, BEAST," he roared, storm clouds brewing, and he lunged once more.

Lili

The headphones helped. A lot. The song was now murky, hardly audible.

But, then again, so was KJ.

"WHAT?!" she shouted, "I can't hear you! Write it down or something!"

The building suddenly shook, the walls reverberating and the disco ball smashed to the ground, causing shouts of alarms from the men. The women were still quite entranced. Lili looked up, expecting to see the dark mass again, but instead was surprised to see the clouds through the skylight. How?

A familiar blur dashed across. "It's Shen! Shen's here!" she shouted, since she wouldn't be able to hear herself otherwise, "Jeez, I seriously can't hear anything with these on...Well this explains why the DJ's never take my song requests!"

Sam

That was...unexpected...

Should he or shouldn't he? Oh, the dilemma! Two separate trains of thought swirled through his mind. On one hand, it was practically an invitation. On the other, she wasn't exactly sane right now. Decisions, decisions....

One particularly persuasive argument was to just do her right now. It would distract her from the monster for sure. But when she woke up...well....he didn't know if it would be entirely consensual. And Monica was so shy...at least normally....she'd probably die of embarrassment.

Well, then. Sex was off the table. But he could still distract her. He pulled his hands away from her tantalizing flesh and instead pulled her face to him, giving her what he hoped would be the kiss of a lifetime. I'm distracting her from the monster, I'm distracting her from the monster he kept reminding herself.

KJ

Growling, he looked up to the skylight, ignoring the shouts around him. With the blood in hand, he needed to reach Shen because Lili wasn't going to be helpful. He waved a red hand for her to stay and bolted toward the entrance.

If he could get to the roof, then things would be entirely easier. One of the bouncers, of many, tried to stop him, but he managed to kick him out and start his monkey climb up the side of the building. Rails, the sign, a half-attached fire escape, he used anything he could to make it up there, his demon strength entirely helpful and even making him smile. A fight. Finally.

The rooftop was windier, which was expected. Searching the sky, he hoped to see Shen...the beast...anything. The tiny amount of blood that he had had to be mixed with the thorns and somehow used against the...thing. Which KJ didn't even know what it looked like.

"Shen!" he shouted, wondering where they could have gone. "Asian man!"

Monica

Sam's lips were soft, which was expected. Monica hugged him closer to her, accepting his tongue and digging her nails into the back of his neck. Something twisted inside her, an animal desire that she never realized was there before. She liked it. Encouraged it. Lifting one leg, her dress hiked up as she wrapped it around his middle, glad that he held her against the wall so strongly. He was strong...yes...

"S-Sam..." she whispered as they parted for breath. "Sam...Sam..."

It was strange, she was torn. Her head was fuzzy like cotton balls and she wanted his lips again. But why? He called to her, the song beckoned, but here she was safe...she was cared for here too...which one loved her more?

Lifting her eyes to his, she asked softly, "Should we?"

Lili

KJ left her alone in the booth, which she wasn't too happy about. Then again, what could she do? That song...that music...it was too dangerous. She could just barely hear it with these headphones, and those sweet notes were growing clearer now that KJ wasn't talking to her. "No!" she shouted. Then she realized. She'd just keep talking. That's right. But what? Lili didn't typically talk to herself...that was for crazy people, and whenever Sam had left her by herself in an alley or next to the dumpster when they were younger...but then she had at least a doll or rocks or something to talk to. Here she didn't really have much...plus she was surrounded by so many people! She couldn't just talk to herself!

Then again, as she looked out at the crowd, half of them looked completely out of their minds. But it was the guys who were still sane, and they would definitely judge her! One of them was staring right at her, and she immediately ducked down with a small shriek, not wanting to be seen, especially with these ridiculous headphones.

What could she do? That melody was starting to grow louder, more agitated...maybe she should try to listen to it to see...No! "No no no no no!" she repeated, shaking her head. God, the temptation was strong! She started pulling out the wires of the sound system, chanting "no no no no no no," as she did, as if it would keep away the song. For the moment it worked, and there were a lot of wires to pull out.

Sam

Hah. So Monica wasn't so shy after all!

Idiot, it's probably the monster...whatever she's listening to must be the cause of it.

That made too much sense to be right....

Still, Sam decided to ignore Monica's question and keep kissing her. He knew the implications behind it, but he didn't take advantage of girls who were intoxicated. At least not girls he knew. And would have to face the next day. He'd keep Monica safe for now. Besides, there was nothing bad to come from just kissing, right? Not to mention he wasn't entirely sure if she was his type or not...

"Let's just keep it at this level, all right?" he said, taking a breath, "If you still want to continue, let me know tomorrow."

Shen

It was difficult to fight something that was practically invisible. Especially since Shen was so used to seeing everything. Dragons weren't the most powerful creatures on Earth for nothing.

He decided to play dirty, and made a mirage of a very attractive human female not very far from the creature. It was immediately distracted, which led Shen to believe it wasn't extremely smart. As he waited for it to pounce on the illusion, he neared it...almost, almost.....

"Asian Man!"

Shen whipped around to see KJ on the roof. Growling and distracted, Shen flew up to the roof, the monster slowly realizing that the female had disappeared.

"WHAT?" he snapped, "CAN YOU NOT SEE I AM--"

Suddenly the building shook again, and as Shen looked down, he saw cracks against the structure. Was the monster angry it had been deceived? It was still difficult to see. If only....

"AH, WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THAT?"

Immediately, the gathering storm started pouring rain, and the drops gave away the creature's position, along with its size....

"IT'S TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE BUILDING," Shen observed, "HERE, TAKE THE ROSE THORNS BEFORE..."

Too late. With a deafening SMASH, the wall of the club had been obliterated, and immediately screams rose through the air.

KJ

As soon as the wall came to its crumbling end, KJ had flipped through the air, snatched the rose thorns from Shen's claw and landed among the debris of the wreckage. He smelled blood before looking up, knowing it wasn't Lili's or Monica's, but gut sinking nonetheless.

"Get everyone out!" KJ shouted to anyone who was listening.

He needed only a few minutes. A few minutes. Dropping to his knees, screams swirling around his head and heels clattering this way and that, he bit his tongue against the smell of dead female blood and poured the thorns into the the small bit of blood he got from Monica. "Now what?" he murmured, yellow eyes lifting finally. He couldn't see the thing, but saw an entire crowd of people being shoved to the side by some invisible force. KJ could sense it. Hopefully, that sense was enough.

Dashing past Lili, he gave her a wave and a smile, anxiety nonexistent. Yes, things were dire. But this was where he thrived.

"Asian man!" he shouted. "Drop on top of it! Right there!"

He indicated where the beast was, though it was rather obvious, the remains of a purple clad girl suspended in midair as the beast tore through her flesh and bone with invisible teeth or...really strong claws or...something.

"Just drop down and I'll do the rest!" he exclaimed. "C'mere you son of a bitch!"

Monica

It was close...they were close...so...so close.

Monica tore away from Sam, but still clutched his shirt as it kept her from drowning. Some of the lipstick Lili had insisted she wear was smeared on his face, giving him a goofy red shadow along his mouth. She smiled, fingers twisting up into his hair. "You look silly..." she whispered, smiling brightly up to him. "And thank you."

Before he could respond, she lifted her knee up into his groin and hurriedly exited the bathroom stall.

The beast was near. The beast...her lovely...

Rushing out into the club, she saw hardly any men left, the few remaining trying to tug the girls away. But they couldn't leave? How could they expect them to deny such an awesome power? This being of brilliance?

Monica rushed forward, seeing KJ with a strange bowl, a dragon and of course...of course...the beast.

Like a shadow, it loomed over the crowd of reaching hands, singing such sweet melodies. Monica saw one girl had been fortunate enough to...

Wait.

The remains of purple cloth mingled with freshly cleaned bones and stringy sinews cleared her mind, a thick scent of death coating the inside of her nose like a blanket, thickening and expanding until she had to fall to her knees, covering her mouth. "Oh god..." she breathed, tears stinging her eyes, but she couldn't look away from the awful pile of flesh.

Shen

"ASIAN MAN?" the dragon boomed with distaste as he slithered though the air into the building, "WE NEED A LONG TALK AFTER THIS."

Despite the lack of respect, the dragon still did what KJ asked. He pounced, aiming for the girl being eaten, and his claws dug into the invisible flesh. The beast was large and heavy, but Shen had the upper hand, and he forced the beast lower to the ground. It struggled, gobbling the girl up like a guilty child caught with a cookie, and Shen had to coil around it to keep it from leaving or attacking more women. A few scales of his were suddenly ripped off, and Shen realized it was trying to bite him off. Fat chance of that, though. Dragon scales were impervious to...

A heavy crunch rang throughout the air, followed by an intense pain. The beast hadn't torn flesh, but like a crocodile chomping onto a pipe, it had still created a huge dent in Shen's tail. Maybe even breaking a bone. "INSIGNIFICANT CREATURE!" Shen shouted, clawing into its thick skin and wrapping around it tighter, "DO NOT EVEN DARE THINK YOU CAN BEST A DRAGON!" Shen switched his attention to KJ, jaw clenched as he tried to shut out the pain, "NOW!"

Lili

Lili shrieked when the wall collapsed, ducking for cover. When she poked her head up, KJ had run past her, smiling. "You're crazy!" she shouted, headphones still on. She had been wondering whether to hide or help when she saw Monica dash out suddenly. "No! Wait!" Lili scrambled to her feet and chased after her.

Lili caught up just as Monica collapsed onto her knees, too close to the beast for comfort. Lili dragged the human away until they were a safe distance, meaning back at the DJ table. "Are you crazy??" Lili shouted, headphone still on and making her voice louder, "You don't go running into danger like that! I don't care how awesome that music is, you don't do that!"

"Monica!" Sam came running in, though oddly. It was more of a hobble. At Lili's questioning look, he explained, pointing at Monica, "The bitch kneed me in the balls! Can you believe it??"

"Is that lipstick on your mouth?"

"So what if it is? Just tell me where the stupid monster is so I can shoot it," his twin pistols flashed in his hands. "Nevermind. The floating dead girl gave it away."

"Wait, Sam, I think KJ and Shen are taking care of it!" Lili called as Sam ran towards the beast, just as it swallowed the rest of the girl. Shen was now struggling to bring it to the ground.

"What the hell am I supposed to do? Just sit here and wait?" Sam continued running and aimed as Shen coiled around the beast. He couldn't see it, but Lili could. It was a giant behemoth of black, fleshiness. It was almost formless, like a giant blob with limb-like extensions. She couldn't tell if they were tentacles or arms. It was constantly in motion, like a cloud or a dense pile of smoke. That ate girls. The worst part was that mouth....a huge, gaping maw filled with three rows of teeth and a disgusting tongue. Its saliva dripped everywhere, and judging by how some of the few remaining girls were licking it up like chocolate, it must also have some attractive quality. Lili shuddered. She couldn't imagine how something like that could be attractive at all. Maybe it was the headphones. Did the music change how it looked? She was tempted to check, but stopped herself when she realized her fingers were already trying to pull it off. "Stop it!" she told herself. She focused back on Monica, "Monica, are you okay? Come on, we need to get out of--"

Her words were cut off by Shen's loud roar. She looked up again and her eyes widened. It...it had bitten Shen??? HOW?? Weren't dragons supposed to be all powerful? Or was Shen just...no no no, even Lili knew they were strong. But this thing had bitten him?! "SAM!" she shouted desperately. If Shen could hardly contain it, how could Sam even hope to? He was shooting at it like a maniac, most likely aiming at the gaps between Shen's coils. One of its tentacle arm things shot out towards him, and before Lili could shout out, it had impacted, slapping Sam away like a fly. He slammed towards them, smacking against the wall next to them with an awful sound before crumpling.

"SAM!" Lili screamed, before turning to the monster, "How dare you?!?!"

Before she fully realized what she was doing, she pulled off her headphones, shoved them onto Monica's head, and grabbed Sam's guns. Stomping towards the monster, she shouted, "You ate my coworker, broke my nail, ruined my night, bit my friend, hit my brother, and to top it off my dress is completely soaked! You do NOT do any of those things to Lilith Dean without getting cut in the process! DIE, BITCH!" She shot repetitively at the monster, aiming for that disgusting mouth, the gunshots drowning out any music that might have been leering from it.
