Description

Age
19

Gender
Male

Birthdate
4th of August

Personality
Jax is a rather quiet boy and has been his whole life, mainly due to his strange and extremely dangerous ability. He knows that if he gets too angry he will accidentally trigger his power and hurt somebody, as he has done in the past. He seems a lot older than he really is, as if he were in his late 20's, but that is only because of his self control. Jax likes to have a good laugh with people but is often a solitary boy, not good with social interactions or making friends with other kids. The doctors have diagnosed schizophrenia, social incapability and anger within him, but only he knows his true 'mental disorder', having no self confidence in himself or anyone else. He doesn't like trusting people and hates it when people trust him. Otherwise he is a rather nice boy, willing to help anyone if needed to make up for his past.

Power/Ability
Psionic blast
The ability to overload another persons mind causing pain, memory loss, lack of consciousness, vegetative state or death after having created a psionic link into that individual's mind.

History
When Jax was only still in grade school he got into a fight with another kid. This was before he knew about his power or 'mental disorders' as the doctors like to call it, and he badly hurt the kid with his psionic blast, almost giving him brain damage. They claimed that Jax had hit the kid over the head which caused the amnesia, but there was no marks to prove it. After that Jax went with his parents to doctors and psychiatrists and he hated it. He got so angry with his parents that he hurt his mother so bad that she went into vegetative state. His father disowned him after that, scared and furious at his son, and Jax went to live with his Aunt in a different town, never hearing from his parents again.
He was home schooled after that, until authorities finally heard about these strange cases and took him away to what they called 'a special school for abnormal children'. He didn't want to go but they made him unable to move and took him away.

Jax woke up with a jolt. It was the same dream again, the same horrible dream where he killed everyone he ever knew; their spirits had come up from their graves and started suffocating him, and when he needed his powers the most they never came to the surface. He had been having this dream for weeks now and he was tired of it.

He knew that it was ever since he had come to this place full of people and stressful situations, it made him fear that he would one day snap and hurt somebody....why did they bring him here? Surely he would be of more danger to people than if he were alone in his home once more. But he didn't argue with authorities, Jax knew better.

Looking over he noticed that Blake had already left, so he got up tiredly and clothed himself. This morning he couldn't be bothered with a shower, the dream had ruined his day again and he wanted to put the least amount of energy into it until he could go to bed again and hope, once more, that he would be greeted with pleasant dreams or no dreams at all. It was false hope, but it was the only thing that kept him going during the day.

Jax groggily walked to the cafeteria and grabbed a bowl of cereal, eating quickly and steadily. He avoided eye contact with anyone, the noise of the cafeteria due to several conversations interested him but he never joined in, it was best, he thought, and kept eating until it was time to go to the library and study. Though Jax never actually studied, and when he did it was only because of something that interested him. He more read to calm his thoughts, the stress of homework, assignments and studying not safe for himself (or perhaps others), though somehow he kept on top of the work load that was presented to him.

"Oh, it's going pretty good. Minus my levitating skills. I tried to jump off the loft today and levitate myself down, but I fell on my butt." I laughed. "Oh, it's going pretty good. I actually like sewing a lot when the sewing machine isn't busted."
I continued to sew, and I could see that the skirt was coming together. The size wasn't perfect, the belt was a little crooked, but, it looked good overall and it can be easily fixed. I looked down at my tablet, that read 10:56.

"Guys, I'm going to go get a head start for the library for Personal Study. See you guys at lunch!" I smiled and waved at Amelia and Addie. I started to gather my stuff up, and go and put it back on the back table. I took the machine first, and without dropping it, brought it to the back table. Soon after I put the mass of fabric on top of a small cabinet in the corner of the room. I grabbed my tablet, cord, and bag and started to walk to the library. I started down the hall, pulling out my tablet. I reviewed my schedule once again as I walked, to make sure I wasn't going to the wrong place.

I then entered the library, and went straight to the academic material. I levitated a math textbook off the shelf and onto a nearby table, where I saw a boy was sitting. I didn't see him much, but I recognized him as Jax, one of the guys in Dorm B. I sat down where my math textbook dropped, about 5 seats away from Jax. Jax was shy, and I wanted to make him feel welcome.

"Hi Jax." I said smiling a bit.

I then returned to my textbook, and began to work on bisectors. I took out some grid paper and practiced a few problems, and began to really understand the concept. I then flipped to another page, and tried some more.

Soon Art Class had flown by and I had gotten 1/4 of my project done. I smiled, feeling happy that I didn't waste the lesson. I'd be done in a couple days. I watched as the clock ticked nearer to 10:00. I had about 5 minutes until class was done so I packed up my foldable easel and set it in the back. I grabbed all the materials and tools and put them neatly where they were. I watched as the bell rang and she I Serena disappear into the hall.

I grabbed my tablet and my bag and left the Art room. I had a dorm break for the next hour and I wanted to head back to the Library. It was beautiful and quiet. Just what I needed. I headed down the corridor and back to the Library. I finally walked in the Library and saw Serena and Jax sitting at one of the tables. Why not hang out with them? I headed towards them and I smiled at Serena as I said "Hi." and I found a seat across from Jax and near Serena. "Hey... Aren't you Jax?" I asked, putting my bag on my lap and rummaging for a textbook. I found one on Math and I opened it to the correct page.

Engrossed in a book, Jax didn't notice that someone had approached until they sat down, giving him a startle. He couldn't remember her first name, but knew that her last name started with Black...Jax was rather horrible with names so he often didn't even try to remember them. He knew it was probably a childish thing to do but did it anyway.

"Hello," he said, smiling slightly. She returned to her textbook and he decided that she wasn't going to talk to him much (which would save a lot of nervous socialization on his part), so he returned back to his book. Jax knew a few people, of course he couldn't avoid interactions, but he didn't mind. Most of the people at this weird school were pretty friendly and presented no grief so it was a relief to him, but he was still cautious of others, just to be sure.

Another girl approached, a friend of the other girls perhaps, and said hello to both. He didn't get startled this time, so he was able to answer her question without a dazed reaction.
"Yeah, that's me,"
He could've said 'Hey, you're Emily?' but he wasn't fully sure if that was her name and didn't want to embarrass himself in the process so he stuck to short sentences instead.

They both seemed to be studying, and a wave of guilt flooded over him as he realized that he should be too, but he knew that he shouldn't even try (the only subjects he was really good at was Humanities and Art) because it would never get done. He was hopeless at homework and his studying contained of making little towers from his stationary, so he just went back to his book.

"My names Amelia..." I smiled quickly scanning the page. I didn't need to study it since I could just tap into my precognition... but I only did that in emergencies because it could be classed as cheating... I looked back up and looked at Jax's book. I couldn't quite see the title so I decided to make a leap for conversation. "Whatcha reading there? Textbook? Any interesting facts or questions?" I asked him, awaiting an answer patiently. Even talking to people made the powers run wild. His memories, past and future threatened to enter my mind but I didn't want them. It was an invasion of privacy and I really hated this power sometimes. Amelia fought hard and finally she relaxed as the urge stopped.

Amelia...he was nearly right. Jax watched her as she asked him a question, and he realized that she thought he was studying, so it was hard to come up of some excuse as to why he was reading 'The Great Gatsby' instead of some kind of text book. In the end he sighed and held it up so she could see.

"Er...well I'm not really...studying," he said nervously "I just like to read."
He had already read it before, but enjoyed the book and decided to find it in the library when he first came here...ever since all he had done was read this book in his spare time and do the occasional homework when he had to. He was pretty sure he didn't have any at the moment...but didn't trust his judgement.

Jax smiled guiltily and stood up suddenly as the lunch bell rung. He felt rude if he just walked away but he didn't know what else to say, it wasn't often that people came up to him and started talking so he found it hard to socialize when they did. In the end he decided to ask her a question.
"Are you coming to lunch?" it was a stupid question, but he didn't know what else to say and he was sure he was already making the conversation awkward.

Kids got up from their tables and began to walk to the cafeteria, he decided if she wanted to they'd walk there together because he was in an alright mood now. The dream hadn't wrecked his whole day, he figured out, and decided to make the most of the rest of it as the morning was pretty relaxed.

I blushed when he held up the book. "Oh I just assumed... Sorry...." I looked down. I fiddled with the edge of my shirt, looking for something to do because looking at him after making that assumption made me feel awkward.. I heard the bell ring and stood up as he did too. I looked up at him when he asked if I was going to lunch. I smiled and nodded. "Yes I do plan to attend lunch..." I said to him as I gathered my textbook and shoved it into my bag. I slung it over my shoulder and stood across from him. He stood there and I wondered if he wanted to walk with me. "Hey... I hope this isn't awkward or anything since we barely know each other but I was wondering if I could eat lunch with you? I mean... I don't have many friends... Other than Serena... She'll probably go sit with someone and I don't feel like being the third wheel... And I've had my fair share of sitting alone at lunch and it isn't as much fun as sitting with someone else?" Amelia nervously said, awaiting an answer.

Jax laughed as if in relief and nodded. "Yeah, sure, me neither really...er...don't have many friends," he grabbed his bag and began to walk with her.
He felt calm, which was the strangest part of all of this, for once he felt slightly normal. Normally when Jax met new people he was a live wire of struggling nerves but today it was almost as if there was no stress whatsoever.
Recently he had gotten good with controlling himself, due to the training that he was getting from this place. They mainly taught him how to relax and be calm and control his ability to the point where most days he felt as thought he didn't belong in this place, but other times he realized how important it was that he was kept in seclusion away from normal people. Most of the kids in his school were able to protect themselves and he knew that the authorities would control any bad situations, but it still didn't stop him from getting nervous when socializing.

Jax noticed he still had the book in his hand and slipped it into the opening of his bag and then a thought came to him. He wondered what kind of ability Amelia had, it wasn't physical or a mutation of any sort and she didn't show it off or anything (he had dealt with somebody in the past who kept showing him their gills, frankly he found it rather disturbing), so it must be mental. Perhaps that was why he got along with her well enough because their abilities may be similar.

I was relieved when he said yes. I couldn't quite handle a rejection right now of any kind. When he explained he didn't have many friends, I thought that I'd be there for him if he needed me. He grabbed his bag and I walked with him to lunch. I liked having company... Even at my old school I had friends but since coming here, I found it hard to start over.... I was afraid to mess up and make everybody hate me for some reason... Everybody knew you had a power here but at my old school nobody knew... So I had no idea if people thought differently here knowing you had a power.

I turned a corner, heading for the cafeteria with Jax by my side. I wondered what ability he had... I mean if somebody asked me I don't know if I would tell them... Its kind of an odd and personal question to ask right off the bat so I decided not to ask him... And besides... Maybe it was something really cool that he didn't want anybody to know about... It would probably be a better power than mine.... Mine was like a burden.... I couldn't escape it even in my dreams. I dreamt about my visions... I shivered remembering the dream from last night. I couldn't share that with anyone.... It was too... Graphic... And Horrible! I gave Jax a reassuring smile in case he saw me shiver, letting him know nothing was wrong. As we came to the end of the hall, we came into the cafeteria. "So where do you want to sit?" I asked him.

Jax gestured to an empty table near the wall and sat down. He preferred not to be in the middle of the cafeteria as it often stressed him out and he was more than likely saved this particular table by people who saw him alone and in that seat a lot of the time. It seemed to be an unspoken rule to not get in the way of anyone who was secluded, he had overheard a girl in one of his classes say that one time a girl who could lift people with her mind had raised a boy up and slammed him into the ceiling, letting him drop, when he had pushed books from her table onto the ground.

Once he put his books down on the table he began to walk to the line of people getting quick meals. He glanced at Amelia and asked "Do you have much homework?" trying to start a conversation. Jax wasn't quite sure what to say, really, but he hoped he was saying the right things. She seemed really nice, so it wasn't too pressuring to talk if he didn't know what to say.

Amelia nodded and walked over to the table. She didn't have a lunch so she'd have to buy it today... Amelia put her bag down on a seat across from Jax so she could talk to him instead of turning around to look at him if she were sitting right next to him. "Do you have much homework?" he asked Amelia. "Not really... Just a science project but I can get that easily done in an hour..." I smiled. "I'll be right back I need to grab some lunch." Amelia said, getting up and crossing to the cafeteria. She grabbed an Apple, A sandwich, a muffin and a bottle of water and she paid at the cash. Amelia grabbed her lunch and brought it back to the table. "So do you have any homework?" Amelia asked him.

***RING!***
Training time.

I pack up my tablet, and wave goodbye to the group of girls. I walk to the nearest bookshelf and take care to place the books in the correct places. I turn around, and begin to walk to the main training area. Walking through the large library, I begin to think. Maybe my group of friends are to young for me. Maybe I'll talk to some of the older people during training, or some people I don't usually often to spend time with, like Amelia. Maybe even Jax, and I heard about this guy named Blake. Hmm, we'll see.

I continue to walk down the large hall. I walk into the large, open training area, colored grey and a few shades of green. I personally think these two don't really match, but that's my opinion. Anyways, I walk over to the large screen on the right wall and offer my tablet up to the group. I plug it into the cord attached to the wall, instead of the portable one I carry with my tablet. Once it's plugged in, I walk to some massive cinderblocks.

I begin to concentrate, like nothing is going on in my life. My eyes feel nonexistant, which is how I know they have changed color. I begin to slowly lift a block, coming up into the air. It feels heavy. Not to heavy though, just right. I pull it backwards, then send it hurdling at the wall. It smashes into tiny bits, then the pieces dissolve into small bits.

Cool.

Jax grabbed a salad roll and some water and sat down with Amelia, he hesitated before answering her question, not quite remembering if he had homework or not.

"Uh...some humanities, I think," he took a break to swig some water "Maybe some art, I'm not really that good with homework heh..." his voice was guilty and he continued to eat with her until the bell rung. He finished his food and stood up, asking another question.
"Do you do group or private training?" he asked, waiting for her to walk with him. He decided that he would try and become friends with Amelia, he didn't really have that many and she seemed really nice, not stressing him out at any point. Plus, it would be a good chance for him to practice his social skills.

"Uh...some humanities, I think," Jax said and Amelia watched him take a sip of water. "Maybe some art, I'm not really that good with homework heh..." he said. I nodded. "Maybe I can help you some day?" Amelia suggested. They ate their lunch and Amelia got up and put away her garbage a couple minutes before the bell rang. Amelia watched as he got up when the bell rang. "Do you do group or private training?" he asked. "Group, what about you?" Amelia asked Jax, starting to walk with him to training.

All tablets and SmartScreens [The screens that the humans from the outside use to communicate with the abnormalities] flash on.

All schedules are now revoked. You may do whatever you like for the next 7 hours, then you are to report for lights off. Dinner will be served at the regular times, and all abnormalities must report to the Main training facility at 10am for an announcement. If you fail to show up, you'll be punished. This is extremely important, and will permanently decide your fate.

Thank you.

And all the screens flash off.
