Tamantha “TK” Kenden

"Hope the bread was good, Tigra. And hello to everyone else."

"The bread was yummy. Thank you Sawyer." TK beamed widely, her tail swishing back and forth. That little piece of food was enough to fuel the half breed for hours. Her eyes darted to the side when she saw Anne calling for one of those big cat creatures that give TK nightmares.

TK was bored. In the morning, she usually worked out, but there were quite a few people on the deck... Oh well. That won't stop me! TK liked to stretch first. So, right where she was standing, TK did a backbend, and then continued till she was back on her feet. She rolled her shoulders a bit.

TK let out a wide, tooth-filled yawn. She rubbed her eyes for a moment. Now that she thought about it, a nap sounded better then working out. I will not let the warmth of the morning star deter me! TK nodded. She turned and walked over to the main mast and dug her claws into the solid wood. She placed her feet on the pole and shimmied her way up to where she fell asleep last night. TK lowered herself and did a full split across the wooden column. She leaned back and allowed herself to fall a bit, then she grabbed the beam just before falling back to the deck. She swung herself back up onto the beam and landed on both of her feet. TK stood up and began pacing on the beam, wondering what to do.

TK shrugged. She grabbed the beam, dug her claws in and allowed the rest of her body to hang. She began to do pull ups, her tail swaying back and forth for some reason.

There was 'thud' that came from the door, it startled Elly's peaceful reading and she jumped in her seat turning her eyes to the door. One of the men of the crew came stumbling in to her potion room. He bumped into the door, but he wasn't hurt or sick, so why was he here? She wondered to herself, staring at the man blankly with her orange eyes. "This is the potion room.... Sorry for intruding, Elweise.... What're you reading?" the creature spoke.

Elweise shyly turned her head back to the book, she didn't feel like talking. "S-spellbook..." she said simply and stumbling. Suddenly more member of the crew came barging in, the beautiful siren, Aurora and with her the ships blacksmith, Gumilii. Elweise looked up at them when they came in, they came for the man who was in the room. Gumilii seemed to not be well, drunk maybe. Aurora left in hurry, leaving Gumilii in the care of the male creature. "Ummmm... I-Is that one not feeling well?" Elly asked pointing at Gumilii, "I am the ship's current medic. If she's sick, it would be my job to take care of her..."

Sawyer hurried down to the hull. He burst through the door to the bar area again. It felt like only 5 minutes had gone by since he was here last. He was looking for the oaf. He walked up to the bar tender, his eyes were shadowed from the hood on his head. "Hey, kid." Sawyer asked the bartender.

"Oh no! Not you again!" The bartender shouted at Sawyer. "It took me two hours to clean up that mess you left, and you didn't even pay for your drinks!" The boy "DID" seem scared when he was shouting at him. Sawyer took one big step forward, his face had an angry smirk. "B-But don't worry about it! Y-your always welcomed here, sir!" The bartender corrected himself.

Sawyer dug into his pocket. Nothing. He then remember he had a small coin purse tied to the back of his leather belt. He opened it and revealed one hunderad copper and silver coins. "This oughta cover the damage kid." He told the young bartender. The boys eyes widened. He jaw hung open, he slowly picked up one of the coins to examine, then put it back in the pile.

"Well, how many drinks can i get you sir!! Everything is on me!!!" he told Sawyer.

"I ain't got time for that kid. Thanks though. I need to know where that gang i ruffed up went after i told them to piss off." Sawyer asked.

"Well...Come to think of it. I don't really rememeber, i think that, H-hey behind you!" the doors creaked open slowly. The Oaf, the red head and the two others walked in slowly. Their expressions were not to happy.

Well, shit. Sawyer thought to himself.

"Oy there." The oaf said to Sawyer. "I thenk' weh' got'hof on the wrong foot, eh?" The oaf and the gang all drew there swords after he was done talking to Sawyer. "Truth es', I already got back at yer' green haired whore friend. I slipped the "You know what" in'er drenk." As the Oaf explained this to Sawyer, all he could think about was killing him. All five of them. And of coarse, saving the Blacksmith.

They approached him. Swords drawn, slowly walking. Sawyers expression was blank. They could not see his eyes in the shadows, and that's what he wanted. "I was getting ready to go track you down to tell you something, "Friend"" Sawyer said to the Oaf.

"Aye? What the beh, laddy?" The oaf said laughing at Sawyers face.

"To tell you and your gang to get off at Wernthall. That's where we're porting first." he told the Oaf.

"Oy'es that so, lad."

"Yeah, but I think i changed my mind."

"Es' that so." The oaf said again. Sawyer tilted his head up, revealing his eyes to everyone. He made damn sure everyone saw his face this time.

"Yeah, I'm just gonna kill you."

The oaf eyes went wide, his face red with rage. He raised his sword up in the air, preparing for a downward thrust at Sawyer, hoping to end his life. Sawyer took one side step the right. The oafs sword was now stuck in the wooded floor. "You see, that's the one thing about curved swords I don't like friend." The oaf turned his face up to Sawyer, his eye wide with fear this time. "Once there stuck in something, it takes a while to get them out." Sawyer then quickly flicked his right wrist, revealing his hidden pistol. It landed in his firmly. He rotated his body to the left, and immediately shot the man, point blank, in the head. His body went limp almost instantly and fell to the ground.

The red head screamed with rage, as his fellow gang member fell dead to the floor. He ran to Sawyer, sword in hand, ready to attack. Sawyers last shot in his pistol went through his head as well. The red head flew back and landed on the the remaining two men. The two men pushed there dead comrade off them selves.

"What's it going to be, boys." Sawyer taunted at the remaining gang members. They exchanged glances at one another and charged Sawyer, yelling, swords raised high. Sawyer flicked his left hand this time, revealing a hidden blade that was locked in place with the mechanism attached to his leather gauntlet glove. He unsheathed the dagger that was strapped to his chest.

Withen five seconds they both fell to their deaths. They attempted to charge, but Sawyer charged them as well, faster and stronger. He impaled the both with his blades, lifting them off the ground with steel in there chests. He slammed them both to the ground and watched them bleed out, slowly. (That REALLY felt good) he thought to himself once again.

"Kid, i'm sor-" Sawyer had a gun pointed at him. The bartender, though he was a kid, had enough of this. "Get out!" he said to Sawyer. "Take the bodies with you and so long as you are on the Phoenix, do not come back down here. Or i'll tell the crew what you are." Sawyer felt awful, but good also. "Listen kid, i'm sorry i'll clean this up once and fo-" He was cut off by copper and silver coins thrown at him. "Get OUT! Take your money with you." The kid said back to Sawyer. You'll be lucky if anyone up on deck and below deck didn't hear your gun go off. Everyones most likely in a scare now, cause of you. Get out."

Sawyer nodded his head, apologetically. He turned, walked back up to the hull. "He's right, everyone most likely heard that." He thought to himself, opening the hatch door to be back on deck. No one was here. They must have gone back down below deck. He threw the bodies overboard. Thankfully no one saw. He then remembered something. "Oh no." Sawyer said aloud. "That poor drunk girl was poisoned." His mind was in the gutter. He let anger and hate get to him to much this time. He didn't even pay attention to the oaf when he said, "You know What."

He ran back down stairs to look for the green haired girl, or Aurora, or anyone for that matter.

Gumilii raised a petite eyebrow, a blush still lightly across her face as she was let down by Asher. How the Hell had she ended up down near the potion area of the ship? Last she remembered was being tackled up on the deck and having a raging migrai- oh wait, there it was. She swayed slightly and put her hand to her head in annoyance- automatically holding onto Asher's arm.

"Yo..... you okay?"

"Ah, I hope ye' don't mind.." She said, speaking of her hold on his arm. "I'm jus' a bit dizzy is all, but I have work to finish that i'm required to fin'sh so I shoul- uhnn.." The grip on her head tightened a bit as she released her grip on his arm before she accidentally broke it with her auto-mail hands. Why did she feel so much worse then she usually did? Sure hangovers hurt like a bitch but this was just going overboard. Now that she thought about it though, that beer didn't exactly taste about as right as it usually does. He nose scrunched up in confusion in thought but wasn't able to process anything.

"Ummmm... I-Is that one not feeling well? I am the ship's current medic. If she's sick, it would be my job to take care of her..."

Gumi blinked and shook her head. "No, i'm jus' fine, I jus' needa... sleep it... off is all.." She said turning, but didn't make it past her first few steps before she suddenly passed out, hitting the floor with a loud thud. Shit, those God damn pirates did somthin' to her. How could she have been so clueless as to not notice?

Sawyer ran through the wooden hallway. Every board was the same, walls ceiling, floor. All brown furnished wood. He was coming up to a door at the end of this hallway. He didn't dare go back into the bar area. He was too ashamed. He also felt like an idiot for not checking those damn dirty drunk pirates for poison before tossing their dead bodies overboard. "How could i be so STUPID!" he thought to himself.

He swung the door open. The room was full of potions, on shelves, on tables and even on the floor. Parchments of recipes lay scattered about as well. Two people were standing, staring at Sawyer. It was Asher Evans and some woman he had never seen before in his life. They had a look of wonder about them. He saw the Green haired woman as well. Gumi- er something like that.

"Sorry for the intrusion folks." He said to Asher and the other woman. He pointed his finger at Ms.Green. (That's what i'll call her.) Sawyer thought to himself.

"The blacksmith was poisoned."

"Ah, I hope ye' don't mind.." Gumi responded to Asher's question. "I'm jus' a bit dizzy is all, but I have work to finish that i'm required to fin'sh so I shoul- uhnn.." Her grip on his arm became tighter and tighter. It was a damn good thing Asher was NOT a human; Gumi would've crushed his arm by now. Actually, maybe even a long time ago. Asher smirked at the thought. Gumi let go of Asher's arm, and tried to stand up. Already did Asher see the inevitable.

"Ummmm... I-Is that one not feeling well? I am the ship's current medic. If she's sick, it would be my job to take care of her..." Elweise asked Asher and Gumi.

"No, i'm jus' fine, I jus' needa... sleep it... off is all.." Gumi replied. She turned around but after a few steps, her body hit the floor as the blacksmith passed out. Asher sighed and shook his head. "This is why I will never drink aga-"

Suddenly, the door swung open (thankfully not into the head of Gumili) and Sawyer, yet another crewmember, came in. "Sorry for the intrusion folks. The blacksmith was poisoned."

Not surprisingly, Asher didn't even raise an eyebrow. This didn't mean he was surprised. "Well, then..." Asher started to say. "What kind of poison?" He asked as he walked over to Gumili's body and picked her up, bridal style. "Because we obviously need 1 type of antidote for each type of poison, and I may know the antidote." It's true that Asher knows his poisons, or at least, some of them. There are quite a few poisons that Asher knows that the other crewmembers don't, so Asher might be helpful. If not, then maybe Elweise can help.

Tamantha “TK” Kenden

TK continued with her little work out for a few minutes. She had lost count on how many pulls ups she did. After a while her breathing came out in huffs. TK's eyes narrowed for a moment. Her nose suddenly wrinkled. Something smells funny... TK wondered when suddenly, the sounds of gunshot rang through her head and smell of blood overwhelmed her senses. Her eyes widened as she released her grip on the beam, and landed on the wooden deck with a soft thud. Her tail swished along the ground as she stood up straight.

"What in the good Lord's name was that?!" TK asked no one in particular. The girl had to side step as Sawyer rushed past, obviously in urgency. She wondered what was going on. The curious cat side got the better of her.

TK followed Sawyer, and stopped at the door, being very silent. She could smell the ingredients used for the potions form where she was standing. But there was still the funny scent that hung over everything else. What is that? Her eyes narrowed again as she tried to figure out what it was.

"Sorry for the intrusion folks. The blacksmith was poisoned." TK hit her hand on her forehead. Of course its poison you idiot! TK mentally made fun of herself. TK saw sure that she had smelled something like this mystery poison before.

"What kind of poison? Because we obviously need 1 type of antidote for each type of poison, and I may know the antidote." Asher said to the others, lifting up the unconscious, poisoned Gumi. "I-I may be of some assistance." TK pronounced, stepping out from behind the door. "I could try to... I don't know... compare the scent of the poison to something else that may have been used in it?" TK muttered. She wanted to help in any way. TK blinked. The poison may be deadly. They needed to act quickly.

TK took a few tentative steps forward and walked over to Asher, who was holding Gumi. TK's nose twitched as she could smell the poison in Gumi's breath. "It smells kind of... almondy... and... umm... Isn't that bad?" TK said. She didn't know very much about poisons, just that there was one in particular that smelled like almonds. However the name of it had slipped her out of her mind. She looked at Elly and Asher. "Do either of you know, because I can't remember which one smelled like almonds..."

Sawyer put his palm to his forehead. He knew this was going to happen. How could he have been so stupid as to toss those bodies overboard and not check them?

"I, uh. Well, you see...I.." Sawyer didn't know how to say it. He didn't want people to know what had happened earlier. He had no choice though. Perhaps If there was enough time by the time they all arrived at Wernthall, they could get a remedy. Perhaps it wasn't even lethal though.

"Okay, so here's the deal." Sawyer started to tell Asher, Tamantha, and Elweise. "Grass head over here apparentely got in some bar fight earlier this morning." Sawyer pointed at the unconscious beauty laying on the cot. "She ruffed the guy up pretty well. There was a gang of them. I counted four. I went down to the bar after eves dropping on that kid and his Charr mate doin' some weird shit up in the crows nest. I needed a drink after hearing that weird stuff." Sawyer explained. "When i got to the bar area, there was this guy, big ass fella', sayin' it wasn't his fault the "Green Haired Whore" beat his ass. Now i don't think she's a whore or anything, so don't go thinking that. Okay, anyway. I started eves dropping on that guys conversation, cause that's what i do. I heard him mention on getting back at him. I laughed, he heard, he got in my face, i beat the shit of him. I told them to get off at the black city when we made port. Only, that was when i thought that was the first place we were making port. Little Captain Markus told me otherwise." Sawyer said the listeners. "That was the first time i went down there...." He waited for a response from everyone.

"After hearing Markus say we're making port at Wernthall, I kind of got worried. I went back down to deal with them. They showed up, swords blazing. They mentioned that the "Oaf" who I called their leader, poisoned her." Sawyer pointed again to Gumi. " Again, the pirates threatened me, and when the hell did we start letting pirates on the ship? Anyway, they threatened me and her again... But this time i made sure they wouldn't hurt me or...her...again."

Sawyer tilted his head down, and saw that the tips of his white sleeves were a little stained with red. He cross his hands behind his back so no one could see. At least he hoped no one did. He tilted his head back up.

"I didn't grab the poison from them when i was done with them though..." He waited for a response.

"No, i'm jus' fine, I jus' needa... sleep it... off is all.." the blacksmith said before collapsing on to the floor.

Soon afterwards, another male creature came in, one Elly hasn't ever seen before. Following him was Tiger Girl, TK. The man stated that the Green Haired girl was poisoned, but Elly didn't know to trust on that or not. She staid seated just watching until the TK Girl confirmed that she had something that smelled like almonds in her breath. 'Almond smell... Cyanide smells like almonds!' Elweise quickly got out of her seat and start rummaging through the potions on her table and shelves as the second man creature explained what happened. 'Cyanide antidote potion... Cyanide antidote potion... I should really start labeling these...' Elly picked up a flask with a clear liquid in it. "Alright!" Elweise shouted surprisingly loud, "the poison was most likely cyanide." She looking over at the male creature named Asher, who had picked up the poisoned girl, "Lay her down my bed over there." She pointed to the small bed against the wall. "She's in the right place. I'll take care of her from here. You all can go now."

"I-I may be of some assistance." TK said, stepping out from behind the door. "I could try to... I don't know... compare the scent of the poison to something else that may have been used in it?" Asher looked at the newcomer. Yes.... That may work... Asher thought. Animals like her- wait... Maybe half-animals is the right term- can smell certain ingredients.... The Immortalis nodded, and TK stepped towards Gumi. The half-tiger sniffed close by Gumi's mouth, most likely trying to smell Gumili's breath. "It smells kind of... almondy... and... um... isn't that bad? Do either of you know, because I can't remember which one smelled like almonds." The half-tiger stated. Sawyer explained his story, and thought that it was a bit absurd that this ship takes pirates. The Immortalis nodded at this. "Well, it ain't your fault." Asher said, nonchalantly. "I don't think we get many instances in which one of us is poisoned and we try to confront the people that poisoned said crew member." This was a bit nice for him to say, but Asher just wanted to think about what was the poison that is killing poor Gumili right now.

Almond... Almond..... Asher tried to remember what kind of poison had that smell, but it seemed that Elweise was the first one to get it right. "Alright! The poison was most likely cyanide." The medic stated. "She's in the right place; I'll take care of her from here. You all can go now." It didn't matter if the other two went; Asher still stayed in the room, though more or less closer to the entrance in case Elweise didn't want his presence. He figured that this may be the only safe haven for peace and quite in this ship.

Chiru wandered, oblivious to the world around her, her head filled with thoughts and memories. She'd remembered being woken up by Daisy, being scolded for sleeping in, and would make it just in time for a game of hide and seek. Then she'd hide as far away as the mountains, and forget what she was doing and explore, and she would start making her way back home by sunset, get lost by nightfall, have a close encounter with a werewolf, get found by fireflies and make her way back to the lake, where every fairy would be looking for, and would tell her that she won. Daisy would be upset, but Kiaryi would want to play with her throughout the night. They'd talk about things like stars and life, and then Chiru would get tired and fall asleep. Then life would repeat.

But now life wasn't like that. Now, every day was different. Too different. Not one day was like the next. It was too fast for Chiru, and Chiru's mental capacity couldn't hold it all. Every second, Chiru felt her old self freeze up and crumble off her skin, and she found herself wondering who she was, or if her memories were those of the same fairy. But then she'd forget it all entirely after being yelled at for slacking off, just as she was now.

After placing a bucket filled with water on the ground, Chiru picked up a mop, and holding to her side like a shepherd holding a staff, she looked over the wooden deck of the Phoenix. Chiru didn't understand what was the importance of mopping every day. the deck looked clean to her. Perhaps the Phoenix was thirsty, or maybe it was so that any intruders that set foot on the deck would slip right off. Maybe she'd ask of it later, but for now, she had an important task to do. The fate of the ship's hygiene depended on her.

Dumping the mophead into the soapy bucket of water and then placing it on the deck, she began mopping the area. And by area, it was really 'an area', as Chiru was mopping the exact same spot back and forth the whole time, resoaking her mop occasionally, and not moving a step. She then looked up from her work and looked at the rest of the deck. Who would have known such a task would have been so difficult. A task fitting of the strongest, of course. She then continued mopping the exact same spot, as if the more she mopped it, the cleaner the whole deck would be.

She stopped to wipe the sweat off her forehead and sigh, when she dropped her mop, it falling away from her. She took a step foreword to reach for it, but stepped on the super-slick spot of which she was mopping the entire time, it being a thick and soapy puddle, suds decorating it like fungi. She then lost her balance and slipped backward, her head hitting and against the edge of the bucket, tipping it over and causing the soapy water to pour all over her face.

Chiru held back tears as the absolutely livid and angry water beat upon her eyes like an angry mob of horses in a rope-skipping club. Her clothing was completely soaked in the foamy and flowing liquid as if they were made of paper. Any attempt to stand on Chiru's part would cause her to fall back down, like a monster trying to gobble her up. She was also occupied with rubbing her eyes with her fingers of which were also soaked, only causing the poor fairy more pain.

After about five minutes, the fairy managed to get out of the soapy puddle standing, her eyes as red as Mars when somebody told it it's panties were showing. She looked at the mess she made. She needs to find a quick way to somehow make the water disappear before anybody noticed. It seemed almost hopeless. However, it was quite the miracle that Chiru happened to be a genius.

She froze the entire puddle of water, turning it into one thin sheet of ice. Then, she started stomping on it, breaking the shards of ice, destroying the water. She then kicked the tiny pieces of ice all over the place. Soaking wet, Chiru observed her work. Tiny pieces of what used to be water scattered all over the deck, now utterly destroyed. Chiru was definitely the smartest. She then headed off elsewhere, leaving the ice to melt under the hot sun.

Tamantha “TK” Kenden

"She's in the right place. I'll take care of her from here. You all can go now."

TK looked up from the ground at Elly. Quite frankly, TK did not want to leave the sick crew mate. TK also knew she had to get out of this room before she passed out from the fumes. She rubbed her nose as he eyes watered like someone with allergies. "I hope Gumi gets better. I know she's in good hands." TK said as she walked out of the room. Her tail coiled around her leg as if to be comforting. TK had to hold her nose to prevent herself from sneezing. "I need some fresh air..." TK muttered and stepped up onto the main deck. She was unaware that the ship's little fairy had just been mopping and scattered the water everywhere.

TK continued to rub her eyes, but the fresh air helped. She was unable to see where she was going when her heel hit a small water puddle. So small that this teen girl would be the other one to hit it. Her foot slid out forwards and TK's eyes snapped open wide. Her tail was coiled around her leg, so she was unable to balance herself quick enough.

Her back was the first thing to hit the deck, then her head whipped back and slammed into the solid wood. The wind was knocked out of her, and TK gasped for breath. She gripped her chest and coughed a few times, then almost started dry-heaving. When the air seemed to crawl its way back into her lungs, TK gave a few dry coughs. "Ugh ow... why me..?" TK muttered and put a hand on the back of her head, then winced. There was already a bump forming. Her pain was immediately replaced by anger. "Who in the hell did this?!" She yelled getting to her feet. Her head started pounding again and TK grimaced. "Damn..." The anger was wiped away and replaced by pain again.

Sawyer walked up to outer deck, once again being welcomed by the cool breeze blowing in his face. It was relaxing. The only sort of relaxation he had this strange, miserably long morning. There were darker splotches all along the deck. "Weird." Sawyer said to himself. For some reason the deck was soaking wet. "I wonder what idiot poured water all over the place and didn't even bother to say anything." He took his hood off in frustration. He didn't know why he was so frustrated...It was just a bit of water... (That feeling again. I need to hurt something. The blood wasn't enough. Those "men" weren't enough.) He started to sweat in his frustration. He cupped his forehead with his hand. He was nervous, he was anxious. Why was this happening to him? His heart began to beat faster, until the point of his stomach turning on him. He ran to the rail and vomited overboard. Even vomiting didn't change anything. He was still a nervous wreck. "What is the feeling? My heart feels like it's going to explode." Sawyer said to himself.

He took a deep breath. In and out. In out out. (That's it Sawyer, don't let anyone seen you looking like a moron up on deck.) he said to himself. He started to look around and start pacing. It was sorta helping, but not really. How does one cope with something like this. Hurt someone again? Kill someone again?

"NO!" Sawyer yelled in anger. "I will not. I want to be... to be, normal. But how can I..." He stopped mid-sentence and saw Tamantha laying on her back on deck. There was water around her. Obviously she slipping and ate wood pretty hard. "Might as well check on her" Sawyer said to himself. He walked over to her and tilted his head down, his long hair swaying left and right in the wind. He held his hand out generously. (I can hide it this way. I can look normal in front of everyone else. But deep down, i'm really a... Monster.)

"Need help Tigra?"

Tamantha “TK” Kenden

"Need help Tigra?"

TK looked up at Sawyer and his outstretched hand and grabbed it. When he pulled her up, a searing pain stabbed into her head. “Ohh…” She let out a groan. “That’s gonna hurt un the morning… never mind… it hurts now…” TK squeezed her eyes shut as her head throbbed slightly. She did not let go of Sawyer for fear of falling. Her tail was fluffed up and lashing around and her ears flattened to her head. Every sound increased the intensity of the splitting headache.

(Sorry its so short!)

"Seems like you bumped your head pretty good." Sawyer said to Tamantha as she leaned up against him. The thought of food went through Sawyer. When was the last time he ate? He needed a meal, a nice big one. He was sure Tigra would eat also. Who would turn down free food?

"You hungry? I'll buy if you want." He asked her. "What you need is some good cooking and a jug of water, perhaps....wine, for the headache that is."

"Seems like you bumped your head pretty good."

“Ya ha.” TK rubbed her temple as her vision cleared up a bit.

"You hungry? I'll buy if you want. What you need is some good cooking and a jug of water, perhaps....wine, for the headache that is."

TK huffed out a breath. Sure, food sounded great, but wine? Ugh. “Alcohol? Hell no. That will only make things so much worse… but you don’t have to buy anything for me…” TK muttered as she let go of Sawyer’s arm tentatively. Her tail helped balance herself and she swayed a bit, but eventually balanced out. When she opened her eyes back up, she had to squint for a bit for her eyes to re-adjust to the light. She blinked a few times so that the white spots cleared from her vision.

It took a little while before Zephyr realized that her childhood may have been more than just the tiniest bit on the sheltered side. And by a little while, she means the first time someone shoved her out on her ass for not having enough money to pay for lodging. Growing up in a monastery meant that she didn't exactly have a ton of exposure to commerce, and had no idea how much worth was associated with the shiny round things in the bag Father Barret gave her.

She also had no idea that Anemoi were rare. True, she was the only one she ever saw as a child with wings, but the list of people she did see all lived together. It was beyond strange and a bit disconcerting when strange children would rudely pluck a feather a run off, waving their pretty brown prize as they went. The one time she chased one of the little buggers down, the beast's mother showed up and ran her off with a bellow and a swipe of a broomstick. Since then Zeph made a point of avoiding children at all cost.

But back to her money problems. That is why she was here, in this gross, cramped tavern, serving drinks in a gods-forsaken dress like she was some sort of harlot. Hell, she didn't even have the right shape! Most of the customers thought she was a cross-dressing boy, and with good reason. The only reason why the owner kept her around was because she only worked for her room and board, and because she would occasionally whistle up a breeze that lifted the skirts of the bar matrons and female customers. The fact that he asked her to do that sometimes was just weird. Why would anyone want to look at butts?

But at least today she was actually working the bar instead of toddling about in between the tables, knocking things and people over with her large wings. However, working the bar lead to idleness on her part, and she absently traced an elaborate compass rose on the surface of the countertop. A fight broke out between two men at a table and she just looked on apathetically and sighed.

"Ugh. So. Bored."

She needed a way to get out of here.
