"...Never mind. Whatever it is, I'm sure I don't want to know."
Name: Jirou Ichirou
"It's a weird name...my brother went through better."
Age: 18
"Hm...? We're in high school, right?"
Gender: Male
"The doctors didn't change my gender. Just...never mind."
Role: The Boy
"The blackouts are no fun. They're a hindrance."
Personality:
Jirou tends to be impassive, detached from the class. The reason for his detachment, is, of course, his disease which causes him to black out. He is reserved, keeping silent most of the time, almost never raising his hand during class, and seems to severely lack motivation to do anything much. The only times he is seen actually being motivated to do something is when he blacks out and wakes up in an unfamiliar place. He loses motivation doing other things, but when he's really forced to do something, he becomes dead-set on it and cannot be distracted. Make him write an essay, leave him alone and when you come back, he's writing non-stop and won't reply to you at all.
Appearance:
Jirou stands at 5'8". His hair is the color of mahogany and his eyes are a strange, bluish-grey. His eyes are almost always looking lifeless and tired. Most of the time, Jirou wears the Gerhilde Academy student uniform, but on his casual days- assuming he's not at home trying his hardest not to black out- he is seen wearing a white hoodie with a black undershirt, navy jeans, and tops it off with a red scarf. At home he wears the exact same clothing, just without the white hoodie.
History:
Jirou didn't have the brightest of pasts.
Ever since he was young, Jirou had always spent his fragile childhood helping out at the house, for they were poor. Food was scarce. He had to make do with the small scraps and the occasional half-eaten sandwich, and the small, patched-up jackets he wore didn't protect him all too well from the harsh winter winds. His older brother, Hiroshi had always been the one to guide him and keep his spirits up, always telling him that they will prosper. Someday. As he grew older, at the age of 10, he discovered that his brother Hiroshi had shifted to a life of thievery. He had told his brother many times that they'll be fine, that he didn't have to commit crimes but all he ever got as a response was a sad smile, and some food along with a statement of, "Sorry, but I have to." Three years later though, a flood took him away from his parents and brother. Luckily though, a girl with snow-white hair found him passed out on the ground and took him in. He was entrusted to her brothers, who managed to take care of him until Jirou finally decided to leave and find a life of his own.
He wandered around, taking up various part-time jobs to be able to scrape up some money for his needs. The family of the girl who took him in sometimes sent him some money and he was thankful for that, but most of the time it was him doing the work. But then it happened. On his way to a job, he got mugged by a drunken man. Jirou managed to defend himself with the self-defense tactics taught to him by his brother all those years back, but then the drunken man got angry, lifted a metal baseball bat and struck him hard on the head. The police came running in that moment and all they saw was an 15-year old boy, on the floor, his head bleeding.
Jirou awoke in the hospital, and was informed of the doctors of his condition. Once the doctor left, Jirou was thrown into paranoia. What would he see? What if he couldn't get out of the delusion? What would he do if he blacked out in public? While he was busily thinking up of the possibilities, the girl who took him in happened to pass by and saw him. She visited him, and her presence eased Jirou a bit from his paranoia. Asking her, though, of her reason for being at the hospital, she replied that her brother had a disease and was confined. And that she was going to move to a dorm in her school for the problematic people. Jirou sympathized with her and was even a bit dismayed that their chances of meeting again were low. Before she left, though she told him of an academy where he could enroll in. An academy called Gerhilde.
Ever since then, Jirou had been studying at Gerhilde, getting more used to the blackouts and frequent terrain change. But deep down there, he just wants it all to stop.
