Element: Fire
Powers: The only thing to do with fire the Rhys really is any good at is heating the temperature of the air around him. He can heat the air temperature to a point where everything around him melts and burns. He can do a little of the other stuff like conjuring a small flame and heating liquids a few degrees as well but he has no control over fire.
Rival Element: Water, though strangely Rhys actually prefers the company of water students than any others. He hates water but he feels more comfortable around them because is his powers get out of control, water can cancel out his powers.
Weaknesses: His mood, though more specifically his temper, his powers are most strongest when he is angry or annoyed, accordingly when he is in a good mood the most he can do is conjure a tiny flame and heat things a few degrees. When he is in a bad mood though he loses all control and the air around him will heat up rapidly to dangerous temperatures unless he can put a lid on his anger. He is working on gaining more control of his powers but at this stage he still struggles to control them when he is angry.

Strengths: Rhys is really athletic and naturally sporty, before he moved to Eastern Gradon Academy he was in almost all the sporting teams and even captain of a few. He was the type of guy who could start playing a sport and in the same day already be beating you at it.
He’s also a really quick reader

Personality:
Naturally Rhys is a people person, he’s just someone you want to be friends with. He’s kind, jovial and incredibly friendly, going out of his way to befriend everyone and seems to always be the centre of attention. Before he gained is abilities he was always the centre of attention and was in almost all the sports teams. He could be cocky and almost too joking and tactless as time, but all in he was a great guy that was incredibly well liked. He wouldn’t intentionally hurt anyone unfortunately though, he lives to extremes, when he’s in a good mood he’s on top of the world, but when he’s angry or frustrated he’s like a totally different person. Worse still while it doesn’t take much to put Rhys in a good mood the same can be said for putting him a bad mood.
Rhys’ father had serious anger issues, and the alcoholism didn’t help. Unfortunately this trait seemed to be passed down in the Celtin family and unfortunately this meant that this trait was passed on to Rhys, combine that with the natural temperamental nature of fire elementals and you have a guy ready explode at the drop of a hat. He hates this part about himself, especially that his episodes of anger as so much more dangerous as he loses control of his abilities. He can get angry at something as simple as not being able to find something. This causes him to get in a lot of fights, and often times he tries to pick fight with his friends, though his close friends always knew that sometimes he just got in a bad mood.
Rhys wants to desperately change the extreme nature of his mood, and so he has tried ever since arriving at the academy to balance out his personality. Now only people very close to him ever see get to see bits of the person he used to be, because he thinks if he keeps his moods relatively normal, if he actively stops getting into such good moods, the bad moods won’t be so bad. This is why out of everyone he prefers the company of water people, they are easy going and very balanced, he kind of hopes that by spending time with them they might rub off on him.
Because when Rhys gets angry he loses control of his abilities he tends to stay away from people, not wanting to hurt them. So in the Academy he has kind of adapted a status as a bit of a loner not wanting to get too close to anyone, always having his guard up. After all he came to the academy to learn to control his abilities not make friends. He also thinks that the less people he hangs around the smaller the chance of someone getting him angry. Though a there are a few people in the academy he lets his guard down a little when around them.
Since he keeps his distance from people, to people who don't know him well he comes off abrassive and cold. Which is an outer image he actively tries to give off, if people think badly off him then they won't hang around him and then they'll be safer. This also makes him a very hard person to get close to because he always has his gaurd up.
History:
Rhys believes his parents were seriously screwed in the head to ever think they could successfully raise a kid. His father was an unemployed drunk with underlying rage issues and his mother had chronic depression that she slipped in and out of all through Rhys childhood. He has no good memories of his father, and only a few of his mother when she came out of her depressive state. The only thing Rhys was glad of was that he never inherited his mother depression. Despite neither of his parents being employed, money was never an issue and the lived in a big house on a large lot because his mother was essentially an heiress.
Rhys’ parents weren’t too bad though, they made sure he got feed and had clothes and went to school, and he always looked forward to school. He became a bit of an attention hog at school, always soaking up the attention that he never got at home. It’s the reason he ended up such an introvert at heart. He also joined as many sports teams as possible so that he could make plenty of friends and so he had a reason not to spend too much time at home. This was where he love for sports was found.
His home life never got any better, but it never got any worse and so he just accept it as part of his life and grew up this way. As he got older he developed his father’s issue with anger though, he tended to get into fight with people, but a lot of the time his friends looked out for him, keeping him from getting into too much trouble.
When he was fifteen though, he started dating a girl from school, and it got quite serious, if you asked him he would have said they were in love. One weekend he wanted to surprise her and so he went around to her house only to find her with another guy. Just the sight of them together turned his vision red and he started beating the guy to a pulp. She tried to pull them apart but he paid her no mind until he heard her scream from somewhere behind him. Turning around he saw her skin blistering and turning red, the same for the guy he was beating up, he could feel the heat of the air and all around him the plastic things in the room were melting. He didn’t think he just ran. And ran. Somehow he ended up back home, and he locked himself in his room for the next few days/ He never heard anything about what happened to the his ex-girlfriend and the guy he had beaten up, but a few days later people from the Academy showed up to explain his powers and forcefully invite him to study at the Academy.
And the rest is history.

So begins...

In an isolated pocket of the English countryside sits Eastern Gradon Academy. Overnight the school has been blanketed in a covering of snow, the first of the winter.
With the coming of the snow also comes the Winter Feast, a traditional feast that the Academy holds for its staff and students the night after the first snow fall. In the last hour notices have been posted around the school to announce the traditional feast.

'Dear Students,

Tonight the traditional Winter Feast will be held in the Dining Hall.
Students are expected to be seated an hour after the last period of the day.
As with past years the seating will be freely arranged.
The dress is formal, suits and formal dresses are expected.

A shot of port will be offered during the traditional toast and mulled wine will be served throughout,
however students are warned that intoxication will not be tolerated.

Looking forward to a wonderful evening,
The Academy Faculty'

The time is 8.30am, half an hour before the start of the school day. As expected some students have been out playing in the snow while others are wrapped up inside or sleeping. A hot breakfast is being served in the dining room. Teachers will be preparing for their classes. Students should also be beginning to ready themselves for their day.

Alanna Ascot

Alanna liked the idea of snow; she liked to watch snowflakes falling quietly to earth, but only from the safety of a warm room. The library was one such room. It was in fact its own separate building and several stories high. Books lined its walls from floor to ceiling and there were many alcoves and partially hidden rooms in its depths. It was the kind of library where one could spend all day and never see another person. During the winter months the fire was constantly stoked and you were always guaranteed warmth. Alanna had been here for some time, reading in one of the many window seats. Snow always made her more irritable and she had woken earlier that morning to see the school sheeted in the stuff. Not being able to return to sleep she had showered, dressed and made her way to the library.

Now, with half an hour until class started she decided that it was time for a warm breakfast. Alanna replaced her book in the shelf and made her way through the large library doors. As she stepped outside the cold immediately hit her and the girl drew her clothes tighter around her. Alanna made her way along covered paths, aiming for the old dining hall. She thrust her hands into her pockets to keep them warm.

She reached the end of the covered walkways. Across a courtyard of undisturbed snow stood the dining hall. Smoke could be seen coming out of the large chimney and the windows were misted, further indicating the warmth that awaited inside. But first Alanna would have to make her way across the courtyard. Pursing her lips she took the first step, her foot sinking ankle deep into the snow. By the time she had made it to the dining hall door her toes were going numb and her irritation had reached new levels, still she hesitated before entering the hall. She had caught sight of the notice pinned to the door.
The only good thing she could say about winter was the annual Winter Feast. The food was always excellent, the decorations were fantastic and the atmosphere was something to look forward to. Not to mention the student after-party. It was just as much a tradition as the Feast, even if not entirely within the Academy's rules. While drinking for over 18s was legal in England, drinking on campus wasn't something that the teachers allowed without supervision. Still, every year the after-party went ahead and every year the majority of the student body attended.

Having finished reading the notice Alanna pushed through the doors and into the warmth of the dining hall. She grabbed a plate, served herself breakfast and then chose a table close to the fire. She sat down with the fire to her back, happy to let the fire warm her.

Lockie Porter

Buzz! Buzz! BUZZ! BUZZ!

The insistent ringing of Lockie's alarm was what woke the young man. His eyes fluttered open as the noise pierced through his dreams. His hand reached out to snooze the alarm only to find the device not on his bedside table. He let his eyes close for a moment. A cool breeze was playing around his room, streaming in through his open window.

In one swift movement the boy collected the breeze to him, using it to fling the blankets off him. His hands gave another twirl and the winds returned, this time he set them on the pile of clothes that littered his floor. It was from this pile that the incessant ringing was coming. With a blast of his collected air Lockie sent the clothes flying around his room, landing across his desk, bed and other portions of his floor. And there sat his alarm cloak. Lockie stood, tapped the alarm with his hand and gave a satisfied smile as the noise finally stopped.

Lockie grabbed his towel and left his room, wondering down the Air elemental's portion of the dormitories. He entered the male bathrooms a moment later, flicking on the lights and a shower as he entered. The water was blissfully warm. He stepped out a good deal later once the water had began to run cold. Lockie was prone to day-dreaming and his mind had wondered, only being brought back to reality by the shock of the cold water.

Back in his room he quickly got dressed in the only clothes that didn't seem to decorate his floor. His stomach rumbled a moment later, indicating that it was time for breakfast. So he left his room and began to make his way down to the dining hall.

Most times the quick trip to the dining hall would take longer than anticipated as Lockie's attention was usually drawn to whatever caught his fancy. Today was no different. Now he stopped short of the hall, watching as a tree branch slowly caved under the pressure of the snow. The day had a moderate amount of wind, enough for him to collect a small ball and send it flying towards the tree. The snow was blown up in a flurry of wind before crunching down onto the tree branch and then onto the ground.

Rhys woke up cold. Though he had woken up almost every day lately feeling cold, today was worse. At first he had tried to ignore the biting chill, choosing prolonging his sleep over investigating the source of the cold. He buried his head into his pillow and pulled his blanket around him tighter, but his attempts to return to the realm of the sleeping were in vain. Eventually he was forced to face the reality that he was not getting any more sleep this morning.

Groaning as he rolled over on to his back and opened his eyes, slowly letting them adjust to the light streaming in through his window. His eyes scanned over the room landing on the window, where he saw the window that he had apparently left slightly ajar last night. Swearing under his breathe he had jumped up to immediately close it the last little bit, though admittedly he may have used much more force than necessary in doing so, but hey, who’s to say?

Rhys accepting his fate, abandoned his usual morning routine that consisted of sleeping until the last minute, and instead went about showering and dressing for the day. Since then he had spent the rest of the morning laying on his bed reading his latest novel, it was Wild West styled which meant lots of shoot outs. It was funny how before coming to the academy Rhys had never once touched a book, at school he was always in trouble for not having read the required book/s. He never really got the whole reading thing, but well, when you adopt a life of semi-solitude, you needed something to replace the hours you used to spend with friends.

Rhys was also in a pretty bad mood, the combination of snow and his irritating wake up could have been to blame, but with Rhys there never really had to be a reason. His mood though had caused the temperature in his room to rise, originally it had been intentional since well, who wants to sit in a cold room? His mood had since gotten the better of him and he may have lost a bit of control, it wasn’t exactly dangerously hot, but it had definitely risen above a comfortable temperature. Not that it effected it’s only inhabitant, Rhys was of kind of immune to feeling extreme heat. Obviously he had his limits but he had experimented with a candle once, not even a burn mark. Other than getting through hot days and surviving his own ability of heating up the air around him, he hadn’t really had a use for that ability yet, but no doubt one day it would come in handy.

Losing track of actual time, it was his stomach that realised it was breakfast time first. Sighing, Rhys took note of his page number, 178, and threw his novel down on his bed. Not that when he picked it up back again he would actually remember what page he was up to, but don’t tell that to him, every time he puts down his book he believes that he'll remeber it. Before leaving his room though he threw on a jacket, heat he may be fine with, the cold, not so much.

He trudged through the academy towards the dining hall, keeping his arms wrapped around himself and head down. He wasn’t really one to marvel in the first snowfall, in his book it wasn’t new, it happened every year. Plus in his mood, all the snow he walked past seemed to be a little less crisp, and a little more melted puddle looking. If anyone had been walking next to him though, they probably would have been glad for the walking heater. As he reached the hall he was confronted with yet another event that happened every year, the Winter Feast. Obviously the Winter Feast, like occasions where large groups of people gathered in formal wear, was not his favourite thing in the world. Needless to say being reminded of it didn’t help his mood.

He mumbled something about it being ridiculous under his breath as entered the hall. After grabbing a plate of the usual breakfast foods, headed to the table furthest from the bulk of the students, his usual place of habitat, away from most people. This of course landed him a seat opposite Sable. Okay, Rhys had planned that from the beginning, but even if she hadn’t of been sitting there, he would have a chosen a similar location. “Cold. Seriously cold is all I can say.” He said bluntly as his way of greeting. Though he was very glad to be embraced by the warmth of the Hall after his treacherous journey through snow filled lands.

“-And the Winter Feast?” He said dully, pointing his thumb over his shoulder towards the door. “Seriously? It’s like a party with teachers, oh, and the added torture of guys having to wear suits.” He groaned lightly as he let his head fall onto his forearms that where already lain across the table.

Though after a few minutes he picked his head up, resting his chin on his forearms so he could look at Sable. “Oh, and I guess a, 'how has your morning been?' would be polite.” He asked playfully, a small smile playing on his features. Rhys always felt bad about how he sometimes treated Sable when he was in a bad mood, like he didn’t really care. So sometimes, just not wanting to take her friendship for granted could put in him a slightly better mood, or at least force in to appear in a better mood.

Arianna looked around the room trying to find a familiar face. She felt quite lonely sitting by herself and wondered if one of her friends would come join her at some point. Surprisingly she hadn't seen him come in, in fact she hadn't seen him until he sat down. It was a pleasant surprise, well until she looked at the grim look on his face, that managed to sum it up as he was not having a good morning.

When Rhys sat down Ariannas stomach flip flopped inside, it had been doing this recently when he was around and she wasn't exactly sure why. But she wasn't about to make it known to her friend and so ignored the feeling all together. She was obviously not in the greatest of moods, being wet and cold usually do that to someone, but she felt the need to try and pull herself together to cheer up her, obviously not happy, friend.

"Oh you know... My morning is just great. Forgot my sweater so I'm freezing. Oh and I fell on some ice. But hey i'm all good." Arianna laughed at herself and slouched in her chair a bit. "I do have to agree with you on the feast though. I hate going. Last year I did my best to avoid it, ended up going by myself and sat at the very edge of the table." Arianna shuttered at the thought last year. Truthfully she had wanted a date, a reason to look nice, a reason for her to try and get out of her shell. However she didn't have enough courage to ask anyone and no one had asked her. "Didn't you have a date or something last year?" Again Arianna tried to brighten up the mood by giving a playful smile and maybe even a bad memory to tease about.

The room felt like an ice block to Arianna she shivered and tightened her grip against her arms trying to warm up some more. She was really missing that sweater that was calling to her from her bedroom. I guess that's where Rhys and her made it off, since she wasn't the biggest fan of cold and preferred warmth, and heck fire is pretty dang warm. It wasn't like she didn't like snow or anything she just didn't like how cold it was. She would be quite content if it snowed in summer. That would be the best. Well... as long as the heat stayed.

Her stomach quickly grumbled and she looked at Rhys with a "Oops" look on her face. She giggled a bit to herself then ignored the grumbling of her hungry stomach. She might be hungry but she didn't feel like eating. Instead she looked to see what Rhys had got for breakfast.

"Oh you know... My morning is just great. Forgot my sweater so I'm freezing. Oh and I fell on some ice. But hey i'm all good." Rhys did a quick scan of Sable checking out what she was wearing today, hey, he was a guy, what someone was wearing wasn’t something that he automatically noticed. He inwardly shuddered when he saw the thin top she was wearing, she was no doubt suffering the consequences of forgetting a sweater. “Well, so long as you’re looking at the bright side of it all,” he said smiling a little. “Oh, and at least after today they’ll be one less day of winter left,” he added sarcastically with a small grin.

"I do have to agree with you on the feast though. I hate going. Last year I did my best to avoid it, ended up going by myself and sat at the very edge of the table." He smiled a little, not in a mean way , but he could imagine it in his mind. Her sitting by herself, too reserved to ask to sit with someone or find herself a date. "Didn't you have a date or something last year?" He couldn’t help but laugh at the question, he was obviously someone who wouldn’t have had a date. He made a point to stick to himself, getting himself a date would be going against the whole thing. He opened his mouth to say this before he remembered that she was in fact right, he had a date to the feast last year.

“Wow, I can’t believe I did actually have a date
” He said in light wonderment more to himself then Sable. She had been a water girl he talked to on rare occasions, and when she was moaning to him about not having a date the morning before he couldn’t help but ask her. His face slowly twisted into a grin as her recalled what had happened last year, “So,” he said turning his attention back to Sable with a boyish grin lighting up his features.

“I did have a date last year, but let’s just say all day last year I had been angry about getting a snowball to the face right before lunch. Then me and my date had been at the feast for all on five minutes when out of anger I make some incredibly blunt and incredibly stupid comment about her dress. And well, let’s just say I got the cooling off I needed, and she was no longer my date.” He laughed to himself at the memory, he hadn’t gotten his hopes up too high, but he hoped this year was at least better than last.

“Wait, you’re not going to the feast dateless again this year are you?” Rhys said suddenly realising, probably a little late that she had yet to mention a date.

Rhys looked up at Sable who was obviously not dealing with the cold very well, she was visibly shivering and hugging herself to warm up. He smiled warmly, she would never be one to complain or ask for something, especially when heating up air was the one fire thing he was good at. That trait of hers seemed rather annoying at first, but Rhys had warmed up to it and now found it rather endearing. He looked around making sure no one was close enough to feel the effect before he started heating up the air around them. He was being very careful to keep control, feeling comfortable enough to do it now that he felt his mood had mellowed out and he was in the presence of Sable, a water elemental.

The air around them both didn’t immediately heat up, it was more of a gradual thing, like first turning on a heater, the heater being him. He then took off his jacket and tossed it across the table towards her, no doubt it smelled of him, but he knew she wouldn’t complain about it. He didn’t say anything about giving her his jacket though, he could be nice to people he just hated being thanks for it and Sable knew this. As far as he was concerned, on the rare occasnion he did nice thigs for others, he didn't do them to be thanked.

“Hungry much?” He joked as Sable’s stomach audibly growled, though her stomach had reminded him that he had yet to touch his breakfast. Looking down at his plate he inspected the food he had grabbed, being a typical boy he had just grabbed whatever looked good in large amounts rather than planning out an actual meal. Though he really cared, he just started digging in which caused him and Sable to lapse into a comfortable silence. “Are you not eating anything?” he casually after getting halfway through his breakfast, not really understanding why she was going hungry.

“Well, so long as you’re looking at the bright side of it all,...Oh, and at least after today they’ll be one less day of winter left.” Sable rolled her eyes at the mention of winter and her being "Bright" about it. "Honestly it would have been better if I hadn't fallen, but hey accidents and embarrassments happen." Sable cringed and she said embarrassments thinking of her fall. Now to think of it, she shifted her butt a little and realized she had a nice bruise on it. This was typical of Sable though; it took nothing to bruise her.

“Wow, I can’t believe I did actually have a date
" Sable couldn't help but grin, she knew she hadn't forgotten about his date. To be honest she hadn't much minded when him and his date had hit a wrong turn, in fact she was quite happy that they didn't hit it off. However the feeling didn't stay very long, since Sable then began to fight with herself to get such emotions out of her head.

She didn't want to to ruin their friendship last year by asking him to go with her, and when she realized he had gotten a date... well Sable at first felt torn apart. She had hoped they would at least go together due to them not having dates and then 'The girl' happened. It was one of the reasons that Sable had decided to stay away from anyone else. Then of coarse when the two had separated in a matter of minutes after the feast started it was just easier for Sable, not always looking down the table to see how they were doing.

She hadn't told Rhys any of this of coarse and wasn't planning on it. In fact around him she hardly portrayed anything towards showing that she may like him. Nor did she figure he would act on it if she did. She was too scared and too hurt from her past, heck she didn't think she'd ever trust a guy ever again let alone date or even like one. But some how Rhys got to her and they hit it off well and, hey, he wasn't bad on the eyes at all.

“Wait, you’re not going to the feast dateless again this year are you?” She snapped back to the present with a quick shake of her head and looked at Rhys with a dumb founded look before finally registering what he had said. "Wha- Oh um yeah. Well I mean... I guess so. No one has asked, and well... I... well." [/size]Sable looked down at her lap she hated it when she stuttered and couldn't make up her sentence. Finally though she finished it, but remained looking down. "I haven't asked anyone. And well you know quiet me. No one wants to take the non-talking, non- sociable, reject. Right?" She looked up at Rhys and gave a small polite but sad smile and shrugged.

That's when she noticed the air around them was starting to get a bit warmer and she was able to stop hugging herself. Rhys threw his jacket towards her and she slowly grabbed it and threw it on. She didn't say thank you, her body expressed the only thanks he needed to be told, and she knew he would prefer her not to say anything about it.

Sable sighed as she Rhys noticed her grumbling stomach."My stomach may tell you otherwise but I'm just not in the mood to eat. Plus..." She looked at where the breakfast food was and slouched a bit in her seat. "It's waaaaaaaay the heck over there."

"I haven't asked anyone. And well you know quiet me. No one wants to take the non-talking, non- sociable, reject. Right?" Rhys looked up from his food towards Sable at that comment. Maybe it was the guy in him, but he would never understand why some girls couldn’t see how great they were. From what he could see Sable was gorgeous, and sometimes she may be quiet and not very talkative, but anyone who took the time to get to know her would find out how sweet and kind she was.

He laughed lightly shaking his head. “Sable, really don’t be so negative, I’m sure that your perfect date is just incredibly unorganised and hasn’t got around to asking you yet.” He said giving her a playful wink and a slight grin lighting up his features. “In fact, I’m willing to make a bet on this perfect guy asking you to the feast. If you get a date to the feast, you owe me a favor, and if you no one asks you by tonight, I’ll be your fill in date.” He had been planning on skipping out early at the feast, but for a friend what was one night of slight uncomfortableness.

"It's waaaaaaaay the heck over there." He laughed playfully, “Sorry Sable, but that doesn’t sound like you’re not in the mood to eat, that sounds like laziness.” Despite that though he pushed his platr into the centre of the table between the two of them. “If you want to get any food in before class better hurry up,” he said nodding towards his half eaten plate of food.

After a few minutes he noticed people starting to get up and file out of the hall. He quickly finished off what was left on his plate and before getting up. “We better get going, since I know someone doesn’t like being late,” Rhys said teasingly and he motioned for Sable to follow him. He grabbed his dirty dishes putting them away, before heading out of the hall.

“So, who have you got first?” Rhys asked as he pushed the door open. He felt the biting chill almost instantly, of course it worse this time, considering he had given his jacket to the blonde next to him. His internally cursed chivalry as he stepped outside. He immediately began using his abilities to warm up the air around him even more, to the point that Sable was probably feeling like she was walking next to a heater. Though he was starting to feel a little drained, considering he had been giving off heat since he has woken up that morning. If he was still feeling angry and annoyed, it wouldn’t have been an issue. It always took more energy to raise the temperature around him when he was in an okay mood though.

He noticed a little bit of ice on the ground as they were walking and he was reminded of Sable’s earlier fall. Grinning he looked over his shoulder at her. “Try not to slip this time, I can’t guarantee you any sympathy,” he give her a playful nudge as they continued walking to classrooms. They would probably have to separate in a minute, since Rhys knew they didn’t have their first calss together today.

"If you get a date to the feast, you owe me a favor, and if you no one asks you by tonight, I’ll be your fill in date." Sable looked at Rhys with a very unimpressed look. "I'll take that bet and honestly... I know how much you would absolutely positively loooooove to go..." She put on the best sarcasm she could for Rhys and rolled her eyes at him as she continued."But honestly, I would rather you come with me because you want to. Not because I don't have a date." She stuck her tongue out at him hoping she hadn't added any bad tension between them.

When he put the plate in the middle of the table it took her a few moments then finally she picked at a few things and reluctantly ate them with her stomachs enthusiasm. "I don't mind being late... I just don't like it on the first day back. Seeing as they always have to throw you the big spiels at the very beginning and then all the sudden your doing homework and you don't know what the teacher is like. It just gets irritating." She shook her head thinking back last year when she somehow managed to walk into a test and didn't know if she was allowed to get up to sharpen a pencil, when she did of coarse the teacher freaked calling her a cheater and she was thrown out of class. It was an excellent first day experience.

“So, who have you got first?” Again Sable was thrown back into reality when her friend beside her spoke. However the question he asked made her think *What class do I have?*. "I think I have Science first. Don't ask me why I got into it I think it was the only alt I had left and there was nothing to choose. So be ready for a lot of moaning and groaning because its physics and I suck at physics." She laughed at herself but sighed thinking how long the class would feel to her."What do you have first?" Looking at him with her head cocked to the side.

Sable was reminded of the cold when she had slipped past the chivalrous Rhys when he opened the door for her and was quite happy to have his jacket on. However she felt that she should give it back and so began to take it off.

"So your saying if I slip you'll just let me fall?" She gave him the 'How dare you' face, she had given him this joking face several times; she was amazing at facial expressions. Saying this however Sable clearly wasn't paying any attention on where she was walking and so again slipped, however she caught her balance and instead made the snowboarders stance on the black ice that she was in the middle of."Great. I think Ice hates me today. Like seriously." She did not sound impressed at all.

So be ready for a lot of moaning and groaning because its physics and I suck at physics. He grinned not really understand why should would have picked physics, it seemed incredibly unlikely of the girl. “Oh don’t worry, I’ll definitely mentally prepare myself for a lot of grumbling from you,” his tone was playful which matched up with his expression. “Especially seeming as I’m so used to it.” He face turned serious though when he heard her sigh, “Cheer up won’t you, it won’t be that bad, and if it is just think about this face you’ll get to see when it’s over.” He gave her a friendly wink and pointed at his own face with a cocky grin.

When she asked what he had first he grinned and responded in a mockingly happy tone. “I have a study period thank you for asking. I would have taken the opportunity to sleep in if hadn’t been for the stupid cold this snow brought.” He swept his hand out motioning to all the snow around them as he replied.

He notice Sable taking off his jacket out of the corner of his eye and slung his arm over her shoulder, casually stoping her from taking off his jacket. “Could you do me a favour and hold onto my jacket for me. I’m feeling a little hot and don’t really want to carry it around with me.” He said quietly while removing his arm from around her shoulders, both of them knew he was bullshitting though he hoped she just rolled with it.

"So your saying if I slip you'll just let me fall?” She gave him a ‘how dare you face’ and he just laughed. She was good at expressions, though he guessed when you didn’t talk that much you had to be, he had gotten used to her expressions though. This particular joking expression he saw quite often. “Probably. In fact I find it quite arrogant of you to assume you mean so much to me.” He retorted mocking aloofness as he faced away from her and started walking a little faster to get ahead of her.

In the moment he had turned away from her though she seemed to have already almost gotten herself hurt. He couldn’t hold back the laughter that bubbled out of him due to the pose she had made in order to maintain her balance. “Don’t blame the ice, for your inability to stay upright,” he said playfully as he moved closer to her, placing his hand on her back. “Now let’s try and make sure you get to your class unharmed shall we?”

He led them both through the academy before they came to the hallway leading to the physics lab. “Alright, I got you here safe and sound, I take it you can go the rest of the way on your own?”

Sable just laughed at the cocky expression on Rhys face when he made his big shot statement. "Well don't you think highly of yourself?" She stuck her tongue out at him but she couldn't help but grin. "So I guess I won't be seeing you much in the morning then? I assume you'll want to sleep in most days."

"Alright if your sure. But if you some how manage to get cold you know who is keeping it hostage." The weight of his arm at first made her dip slightly, it wasn't because he was heavy it was just the first reaction she had. She did notice when he took his arm away that his body seemed to be at a good temperature so she wasn't too worried of him getting cold.

“Probably. In fact I find it quite arrogant of you to assume you mean so much to me.” Sables eyes fell on him and they looked as though they were lost. "Ouch." Was all she said before turning away from him. Sometimes it was hard to not feel hurt from the things people said and she didn't mean to feel hurt from what Rhys said because she figured he was joking but it still stung. She wouldn't let him see that though and so she rolled her shoulders and kept on going. "Well if I ever get stuck at least I know who not to run to." She looked at him playfully and that's when she got stuck.

"I was fine!" She exclaimed knowing she had made her self look like a fool yet again. She was not having a good morning at all. In fact she figured she was making herself seem clumsy and incapable of getting hurt... well ... that was kinda true. "I would have managed... some how..." She trailed off looking away from him.

"I'm sure I won't hit the door on the way in. Thank you though." She smiled not impressed and turned to him in order for the two to say good bye. "Am I seeing you after class or am I too embarrassing to be with today?" She tried to make her voice sound playful but she was a bit upset and she didn't want to go into class. It was a no win situation.

"But if you some how manage to get cold you know who is keeping it hostage." He laughed lightly, he was a fire elementals with a knack for heating up the air around him, getting cold wasn’t really in the cards for him. Though finger crossed he doesn’t wear himself out by the end of the day. He smiled though and played along, “Well, then of course I’ll be expecting anonymous ransom notes.” He laughed lightly as he tugged gently on the sleeve of his jacket she was wearing, “perhaps you should even cut off a sleeve and send it to me with a blood splatter on it.”

"I would have managed... some how..." Rhys looked over at sable out the corner of his eye to see her looking away from him, causing him to frown playfully to himself. “I know you could handle yourself fine,” he said smiling gently. He was being completely honest too, he knew she was completely capable of looking after herself, sometimes he just wished she didn’t have to be. He always hoped maybe one day she learn to let other people look after her, well, him at least. “This time though you didn’t have to manage on your own.”

"I'm sure I won't hit the door on the way in. Thank you though." He laughed lightly imagining her doing just that, running into the door. Though he did hope that she wouldn’t do it, her face was to pretty to survive running into too many things. "Am I seeing you after class or am I too embarrassing to be with today?" Even though she was trying to be playful and joking Rhys was surprised she’d even ask that, he’d be lucky if she wanted to still hang out with him after first period. Though he continued on playfully, giving her a playful grin, “well,” he said pretending to weigh up his options. “I suppose you haven’t done anything too bad, I guess I can give you another chance.” He looked down as her as a grin lighted up his features “Though I guess I would be stuck with you no matter what you did.”

“I’ll see you next period then,” he mock saluted Sable as he turned away from her and started towards the library, where he intended to spend the period, warm and alone. Though something in the back of his mind made him turn around, like he wasn’t ready to leave. “Are you sure you’re alright Arianna?” Rhys asked quietly his voice scrubbed cleaned of its joking tone. Though he calling her Arianna was enough a hint of that, he rarely ever called her by her actual name, though for some reason it always just came out when he was being serious. Though he really didn’t understand why she liked being called Sable, he thought Sable was okay, but it was nowhere near are beautiful as Arianna.

He had called her that name. The one she never let anyone call her. She had never told anyone why and it wasn't like she would ever plan on it. However Rhys was an exception on only one basis; when he was worried about her. She knew when he said her real name the jokes were done and there was no point trying to play around. She would just have to get to the point and tell him the truth. How he managed to always read her mind however was always something she marveled at.

Sable bit her lip, it was something she did when she was about to tell someone the truth, she actually never realized that she does this but it to no fail it always happened. Sable didn't want to tell Rhys she was upset, she didn't want to get into one of those conversations. She always felt weak and feminine when she talked about her 'Feelings two things she absolutely hated. She always wanted to be that friend that a guy would have a good time with and not have to worry about, not some girl that he hung out with and had to watch everything he said to her. That was stupid and it couldn't be any fun. So why be one?

Again she looked over at Rhys and watched his body movement to see if he were relaxed or tense waiting for her answer. He would never push her to do something she couldn't do, however this was something she could; it was just talking right? When she looked at him though she made sure not to keep eye contact, again something Sable always did. Staring into someones eyes was like being hypnotized she couldn't do it, and she would be locked in that gaze completely vulnerable until that person looked away. She didn't understand why her body made this her weakness but hey you can't pick and choose what destroys you right?

"I'm a bit upset. I'm a tad scared. And you really need to get out of my head." A small smile swept across her face and did her best to let Rhys know that she would be ok. "Don't worry about me so much. I'll survive, even if I get a few scrapes a long the way." She paused for a second and took a breath before turning towards the door and letting her head fall. "I guess I'm just not ready to start the year." She half laughed at herself, "I'll see you after class and you better meet me right here." She pointed at a spot close to the door and made the stern expression to make it seem like she was serious before she laughed again. "That way you can make sure I made it out a live." A grin appeared on her face and she quickly ran and hugged her friend before sliding into class... and when I mean slide I literally mean she slipped and landed in a chair off to the side near the door. Hey it worked didn't it?
