"Lost?" the human asked the poor fool who had been wandering the city for almost an hour now. "You said you came from the woods?" She asked, twisting her hand through her blonde hair and taking a soft step away from him. She had never been a fan of the woods, and did not know if she could trust this strange scruffy man.

"Sorry..." he noticed her discomfort with his presence. "I just want to figure out where I am..." he said softly, glancing up to the largest building to see some lady staring down at him. Xavior wondered why she would be staring at him. "Who is she..." he nodded his head to the large tower, and the woman sighed.

"Come on, you'll need to meet her. No one goes unnoticed in her city. Besides, if you are from the woods it might be better if you talk to her." The woman motioned toward the building and started walking in that general direction. The man glanced back at the woods, thinking about how he had arrived at this city and shook his head. Perhaps someone here could help him remember something? Who knows, maybe the woman who had spotted him from her window would be able to help him too.

Dexenia noticed that a human had stopped to help him, watching them for a few minutes more as they made their way to the Den. She moved from the window, and took a seat back in her chair. "Sebastian!" She called for her assistant and the door swiftly motioned open soon after.

Sebastian entered the room and bowed slightly before looking at her. "Yes Madame?" He asked awaiting his orders.

"PLease bring in another chair, I will be having a visitor very shortly." She smiled and added a thank you as he scurried off to get a chair. Standing once more she walked to her mirror and fixed herself. She had a reputation for being proper and looking perfect, she wanted to try and keep it that way, plus it would help the strangers to this town to know she tries her best to keep things in order. Smoothing down her silk purple blouse, she made sure it wasn't too revealing. Nodding in approval she moved to her black pinned stripped skirt that hit her lower thigh. She sighed softly to herself and wondered what the traveller could want. She decided to let him tell her that instead of worrying about it. She smiled and nodded to Sebastian when he dropped off the chair and waited patiently for the mans arrival.

The door to her office opened up and Xavior stumbled in still admiring the beauty he had seen in the hallway. Then he turned around to see a woman of great beauty waiting for him. Her hair and eyes were just stunning and it caught him off guard. "Sorry, I wish I was more presentable." He chuckled, moving around the chair to the window he had seen her in. "You have a great view of this...." he paused. "Where am I, exactly?"

She watched him as he enter, taking him in, in one glance. She smiled softly as he seemed to be surprised by her. "No worries, I heard you came from the woods." She took her seat and turn her chair to face the window. "This town is called Acarthu. It has been my home for.. Many years." She stared out into the town and smiled softly. "What brings you here exactly?" She watched him closely and made sure he wasn't going to try anything, though she doubted he would. She wanted to know more about this traveller and where he would be placed if he was staying here, she could tell by his eyes he wasn't human. He was good looking, even if he had a beard that he hadn't shaved in a few days. She fidgeted with her bracelet, trying to keep herself on track.

"A nervous habit?" he asked, glancing over at her when he heard her bracelet around he wrist. He then recalled her words and took in a deep breath. "That is the thing," he stated, "I'm not sure where I came from. When I came too it was dark in the woods and continued to follow the noise to your city here." Xavior's honey-gold eyes glinted back toward the woods with a longing for information. "If it weren't for theses..." he fumbled around his neck until he found the name tags that glinted silver on his chest. "It had a name on it, I figured the name belonged to me, but that could be questioned."

She blinked at his remark about her bracelet and nodded. "It is, especially when someone who doesn't know their own self is in my office." She stood and faced the window, speaking to him softly, as she knew what it was like not to know all about who you are. "You may stay here if you like. Their is a hotel down the street, if you do not have money, I'm sure I can make arrangements." She turned herself towards him and smiled. "What did you say the name on those tags was?"

"Xavior..." he nodded his head. "I think it fits too, my name is Xavior, and you are?" Xavior asked, his eyes glowing with excitement at some help being offered to him. He was very sure that the people of this city would reject him for coming out of the woods with no memory at all, but instead they were doing the opposite and being very kind yet cautious. "And I only have a little on me..." he pulled some wadded cash out of his back pocket, and it didn't even come up to a full ten, but even though he was in a vulnerable spot in his life, Xavior continued to smile and take the world one step at a time.

She smiled softly and nodded in agreement. "It fits you nicely. I am Dexenia, most people just call me Dex." She waves her hand at his money and shook her head. "Keep it, I can take care of it." She opened her mouth to say something else, but then closed it again. He seemed to not remember anything, maybe that included what he is. She didn't want to push yet, so she figured she would wait and make plans to see him another time. Perhaps he knew she wasn't human, but in good time that would be brought to attention.

Xavior gave her a soft apperciative smile. "Thank you, you've done so much. I hope I can return to the favor to you at some point." His voice had rough tone, making it a little less smooth than velvet but it was still delightful to listen to. "I suppose I should start looking around for a job until I figure out what is going on. I would like to figure out why I was in the woods to begin with. And judging the way people looked at me when I first entered it is not normal for people to come from the woods."

He did a slow turn away from the vampire, thinking he could trust her, no matter her species to look at the woods once more. It seemed as if the woods called to him, beckoning him to come back and learn about his past, but at the same time there was a bit of a warning in the way the trees swayed back and forth. Until he figured out more about his location, his combat style, and his own life a bit, he would be better off staying put in the kindness the city was offering him. "Do you know of anyone that is willing to hire someone of my... well naturally, we both know I'm not exactly human. Do people hire my kind around here?" He hoped they would, because even though he was not entirely sure what the woman was before her, he was pretty sure she would know what type of being he was.

She grinned and motioned his comment away with her hand. "It is not a problem. I'm sure you can repay me somehow if I need it." Grinning, she watched him turn toward the window to look at the woods again. "A girl disappeared into the woods and never came back, no one likes to dream of what's beyond it or in it."

She moved swiftly to stand next to him and watched the trees move in the soft breeze. Her smile faultered for a second before she smiled again at his question.
"We live in harmony here, I'm sure they will take you in anywhere. I have a feeling you've guessed I'm not human either. Do you know what you are?" She tilted her head, turning to look at him. Curiousity filled her eyes before she regained her stature.

Xavior was quiet for a long moment then nodded his head. "When I was coming around in the woods I remember seeing a fox, ever since then I feel like there is a warm fox curled deep in my spirit. I'm not sure what that makes me... but I can feel him there, waiting to stir up inside me." His eyes turned to her, filled with curiosity. "Do you know what I am?"

She thought for a moment after listening to him describe this feeling. "Do you have episodes where you wake up and don't remember what happened?" She had a feeling he may be a werefox. Walking to her desk she bent down to grab a form from her desk drawer. She wrote down a few thing before stopping and turning back to him. "If so, you may be a werefox, then you can either stay in the Were Den or at the Hotel, both will be free, and it's your decision."

"A were animal?" Xavior gracefully glided across the room to the chair that had been provided to him and too a seat. He tried to think back to any black outs before his memory had gone out on him. "Honestly, other than waking up in the woods completely drained of who I was, I couldn't tell you if I have blackouts or not." He considering the were den for a moment over the hotel and then shook his head. "I'm not sure."

He leaned back in the chair and ran his hand through his messy, mud coated hair. "Which ever you would prefer me to stay in for now. I believe your choices have more experience to back them up until I require my past back. Other than that I would really like to take a shower. I do feel rather disgusting."

She gave him a genuine smile and nodded. "I see where you are coming from. I shall have you stay at the hotel until you figure out more about yourself." She finished writing on the form and folded it, putting it into an envelope. "You may shower here, or at the hotel. It is your call. Oh and give this to the front desk at the hotel." She handed him the envelope, looking up at the door as there was a knock. "Excuse me." She nodded and walked briskly to the door, stepping outside for a few minutes.

Staring down at the envelope, Xavior kept his mind off of the knock. It was not his business what Dex did behind doors, or her conversations, but he was curious. He had to have been in the woods for some reason, and maybe the missing child she had mentioned earlier. Perhaps he had left this city to look for the missing kid, but then he remembered the look the people gave him and the fact that Dex had not seen him before. He wondered where he had come form, or if he was the reason the child had gone missing in the first place.

He pushed himself away from the chair and started toward the door he had come in, for he remembered where the hotel was from earlier. Though he stood at the door, figuring that he should wait for Dex to tell her 'thank you' and 'good-bye' before he ditched the person who was helping him out.

Dexenia, walked back in and looked over at Xavier. She noticed that he was now standing. "Leaving, I presume?" She smiled and held out her hand for a handshake. She wondered if she should have someone keep an eye on him for a while and send someone to try and get information about this man. She didn't want to do it without his permission, she she decided to weigh her decision for a while before inviting him back to ask.

"Yeah, I've taken up too much of your time already, and your kindness." Xavior stated. "Thank you for the help. When I figure something out I'll be sure to let you know." He added, opening the door and closing it behind him. He really wanted a shower. He made his way through town, remembering the hotel very well. When he found it he made his way to the front desk and held out the envelope. "One room please..."

"You are very welcome, don't hesitate to come to me for anything." She smiled and walked back to the window and watched him leave. Once he got a fair distance away she sat back at her desk and called the hotel warning them about his arrival and the note for them.

"Yes ma'am, I understand." The man at the front desk hung up the phone as the man walked in. He took the envelope from him and opened it, checking over everything. "Yes sir, here you are." He handed him a keey with the room number 812 on it. "Top floor." the man nodded and looked at the note again. He would remember to keep an eye on him for a while.

Xavior nodded his head. "Thank you..." He gave the desk keeper a small smile then started toward the stairs. He was not much for elevators, didn't know how to work them. He weaseled his way up the stairs and located his room. Once safe in side he made his way to the shower and began to clean himself up.

Dexenia looked out the window patiently, waiting for the man she can called for to appear in sight. A few minutes later she saw him approach with two humans by his side one of which was her assistant Sebastian. She let out a small laugh, as the man was so big compared to them. She moved back to her faux leather chair and took a seat, crossing her legs. Once she heard the knock at her door she smiled. "Come in." The doors opened and her assistant guided the man towards the seat.

Zephyr was sitting on the couch when a knock at the door came, he went to see who it was and he recognized him as the mayors assistant. "What do you want?" He asked. The man told him that the mayor wanted to see him about a person of interest in the town. He nodded and followed him back to the Vampire's Den where her office was located. When the assistant opened the door to her office, Zephyr smirked, walking to the chair. "Yeah yeah, I know the deal old man." He sat down and leaned in. "Who is this.. Person of interest?"

Dexenia smirked back, rolling her eyes at his attitude. "He's new here. You are not to harm him, just watch over him. He isn't human, we don't know what he is. I believe he may be a were, and I want you to keep an eye on him." She stared at him and waited for his reply, bracing for some snide remark.

Zephyr nodded and smiled. "Got it, where is he staying?" Dexenia told him he was staying at the hotel and gave a descripstion of the him. "Xavier you say his name was? Okay. I'll keep an eye out for you." He got up and left without another word.

"Well he was very calm," Annabelle showed up on the edge of Dexenia's desk, her legs crossed and an apple pressed to her lush pink lips. She took a small bite and glanced over at the vampire with teasing eyes. "Seems the woods has spit out a prize, but without memory we can not figure out where he came form or what he has done in there." She leaned back, the length of her body taking up most of the desk before smiling at her long friend. "I don't think he is dangerous at all though, sending the Alpha of the wolves to watch over him is a little much... don't you think?" Anna took another bite of the red apple and slowly chewed the flavor in her mouth.

Back at the hotel, Xavier was staring to finish his shower. He felt much better now with the mud and some dried blood off his body and out of his matted hair. He ran his hand through the now freshly wet hair and took in a deep breath of steamy air. Then he opened the shower curtain, put the towel over his head and glanced at the almost fogged up mirror. His eyes widened a bit, and he wondered where all the wounds had come from on his body. His large hands traced over each individual scar, some minor but others looked life threatening. He leaned against the sink trying to jog his memory of the woods, but all that came to him was the moment he woke and stumbled into town.

"I'm gonna be no help to them," he mumbled to himself. Knowing that he wanted to help them with the missing woman, but it had not escaped him that he could have been the reason the woman went missing in the woods to begin with, though he doubted it was true. Xavier then dried himself off, moving through the bathroom with ease and into a new pair of clothes that he had luckily found left behind in one of the drawers. It was not quite his sized, but it would work for the time being, until he could find a quick job and buy his own clothing sometime in the next few days.

He moved around the sleeping area, find the remote to the television and clicked through the channels as best he could. It almost took him half an hour to figure out how to work the damn thing, considering he had no memory of them either. He honestly wanted to return to the woods than stay where he was, he felt like something out there belonged to him more than this town did. Taking in a deep breath he stepped out of the room, deciding to locate some shops so that he would not be too lost by morning.

Dexenia blinked at the sight of Annabelle, and sighed softly. "How long have you been there?" She wondered if she had heard her talking to Xavier earlier. It didn't bother her as she was a close friend and she trusted her. "I know it seems like a lot of trouble but if he is a were, it's best the alpha knows where he is, plus I trust him more then the others." She smiled softly, she didn't think that Xavier would be much harm to anyone, he seemed genuine and kind. Her face flushed a light pink color as she thought about how he noticed everything about her, her nervous twitch and the fact she wasn't human. She wondered what he would do if she knew that she was keeping an eye on him.

Turning from her friend as if to hide her thoughts she looked at her computer screen. She wondered what to do about the missing child. Maybe a giant search party or just send a few men out to look for her. She sighed and realized the only way to get any information would be to have someone who has been in the forest and seen it, and that person has no recollection of what he is or what he has done.

Zephyr walked out of the Den and headed towards the hotel. He walked around, looking at the stores and making short conversations with people, waiting and watching for the man Dexenia described. He was growing impatient when he realized this could take all night. He sighed and figured he'd walk around the town and settle for the random bump into. It was simple, easy and it's an ice breaker. He could get to know him and send the information back to Dexenia. He smirked to himself about the thought of his brilliant plan.

"Long enough," Annabelle responded with amusement in her tinkling voice. She floated away from the desk and landed on her feet, but the way she walked and stood gave her a little grace as if she were walking on air and not solid ground. "From his scent and aura I would say he is a werefox, like you think, or even a skin-walker, but we will not be sure until he turns. And considering the lose of his memory he may not even be able to control the fox inside him." He knew he was a fox by the scent, it was not as strong as a wolf and not as brutal as a leopard. Each wereanimal had their own scent to them, and his was very woodsy, with a lot of pine more than a musky smell of a wolf.

"The woods are crying out..." the fae suddenly spoke, glancing out the window. "They have not stopped swaying since the man entered the town. It is as if they are asking for him to return. Perhaps he does know something of the missing child." The white woman leaned forward on the desk, her hair falling gracefully over her shoulders and her face nearly in Dexenia's. "I wonder how we give someone their memories back..." she added.

Xavier continued to walk aimlessly around town with his hands in his pocket. Then in a pawn shop window he saw a sign asking for hired help. He entered the store and started toward the counter. "Excuse me.." he waved to the man in back who looked very old almost as if he were crumbling away. He turned around to see the fox and smiled. "I'm here about the help you need?" he asked, pointing his thumb back at the window.

"Ah.. yes.." the short man stumbled over to the counter then stepped up two little steps on a stool and was still shorter than Xavier. "Can you start tomorrow, young man?"

"I would love too, I'm new in town and need some money."

"Good. Good... names Nimble." The man waved his wrinkled hand in the air and pushed his glasses, which were perfect circles that were too large for his face, back up his nose, making his eyes look larger than they had been a moment ago. "Bright and earlier tomorrow morning." He stated with a smile. Xavier nodded, took down the man's number and headed back outside toward the hotel. As he exited the store though he crashed right into something that smelled deep of mush and alerted Xavier as being threatening. He grabbed the man's arm before he could fall though and smiled at him softly. "Sorry," he said to Zephyr. "I was a little over excited about getting a job... I didn't notice you there." He dusted the other off and smiled. "My deepest apologies."

Dexenia watched her walk around, smiling at her knowledge of the man. She blinked as Annabelle moved to face her, a small blush crawled across her cheek from the closeness of Annabelle's face to her own. "I'm not sure.. Maybe we should send him back for.. something." She didn't like the idea, but maybe seeing the forest may help him remember. She didn't want to put him through any trouble, even though she had people watching out for him.

Zephyr watched the man walk into a store he knew all too well. Jogging over to it, he walked straight into the man. his balance wavered slightly and he braced himself, but the Man grabbed his arm and steadied him. "Not a problem buddy, I believe it was my fault, running into a place before looking isn't a great idea. I take it you're new, since I haven't seen you around before." So his plan worked, she smiled at the thought and then smiled wider at the man. By his smell he could tell he wasn't as musky as the other wolves, but nothing like a cat. Perhaps Dexenia was right, he smelt like the woods and a bit of fear.

He knew Nimble fairly well as he visited the shop often. He figured he'd let him know about Xavier and tell him to keep his good ear out for anything he says that may be of importance. Zephyr decided he may stop in time to time, see if he can build a friendship with the guy. He got a okay vibe from him, as much as a guy in his place could give off. Maybe it isn't such a bad idea to actually become friends with him.

Annabelle pulled back a little, noticing the blush on her friend's face and chuckled. Then after a moment she composed herself and became serious all over again. "Perhaps sending him in with someone that he trusts wouldn't be such a bad idea." Anna stated, her eyes turning back to the darkening trees as night continued to take the town. "I wouldn't just throw him in there now. Give it a few days, lets see if the trees calm down, or if he finds any friends among some of your watchers." The fae moved over to the chair that had been brought in for Xavier, then sat Zephyr and now herself.

Xavier gave him a soft, apologetic smile. "I could have been looking as well. Anyway, I should get back to my hotel room. I'm kinda under close watch..." he explained. He had a feeling people were watching him, but he was not sure who. If the mayor had a feeling he was dangerous and wanted people to watch over him that was fine, but he didn't want to cause any trouble for whoever was suppose to keep an eye out. "I'm new to town, or at least I think I am." He rubbed the back of his head with a frown. Without his memories he was not sure if the town was his home or not.
