”I’m still learning the ins and outs of flying in real combat outside of the simulator, but I have faith in my fellow pilots. Breaking my leg came as a bit of a blow and prevented me from flying with them, but now I am free to join them in the skies… providing I don’t look down too often.”
"I hear you on that one Chance," Lucky responded.
"I don't really have anything planned for when we get back. I'll probably do what I usually do. Get a bite, go to bed, wake up the next day and do whatever comes to mind until I get new orders... Which is kind of lame now that I think about it."
Kasumi laughed.
"So, Chance... That wasn't a request for a date was it?" She asked.
"Regardless, I'll have to decline. I do have plans for tonight."
Lucky flipped the comm.
"And you didn't invite me?! Angel! I'm hurt!"
Kasumi laughed.
'Oh bite me. It's training you dummy. I'm going to work out when we get back and I consider it more important than eating out. I can eat anytime, but if I don't train often enough I lose my edge."
"Can I workout with you? I'd love to see you in yoga pants and boxing gloves."
Kasumi laughed out loud over the comms, but was stopped dead in her tracks when her radar picked up a blip for a brief instant.
"Was that...?" She asked.
The radar blipped again, and slowly, over the course of fifteen seconds, five blips appeared on the radar approaching their position.
"I have five unknowns moving in fast Lucky," she called to him.
"Roger that, I'm already connecting... Attention unidentified pilots, you are entering Ylliorian airspace. Identify yourselves immediately or we will open fire."
There was only static on the comms.
"I repeat. Identify yourselves or we will fire on you!" He yelled into the comm.
Again, static.
"Angels 2 and 3, you are green lit for combat. All weapons free. Take them down!" He yelled.
"Angel 2, roger!"
Kasumi flipped off the safety switch and prepared her sidewinder missiles for combat. Five enemies, two allies. They were lightly outnumbered, but with any luck they'd all make it back safe.
