His primary weapon is a Bow reinforced with some scrap metal along the limbs. He carries about 30 arrows , but he has many stashes about incase of emergencies. Other than the bow he carries a short sword which has had many years of use behind it, it was enhanced . Anther thing he has carried for years is the leather backpack. In which you will fallow the following items.
2 canteens of water.
a 100ft climbing rope
a maintenance kit for the bow and sword.
fire starting equipment ( flint&steel with tender /pitch )
A gas mask with two filters left, though odds of him sharing this rarity with anyone is scarce.

Regal sighed as he slowly turned the spit over the small, smokeless campfire. It wasn't much, the small rabbit like creature he had caught, but it was meat and being between towns, it was likely all he would get this evening.
The cliff face he was camping at offered a solid defensible position and concealed his small camp site from most people on the path. It was close enough for him to get to said path in a hurry. He heard sounds of battle coming from the south.
"Well well, seems I'm not as far from everything as I thought. " He muttered to himself. He shifted and readied his bow. Trouble had a way of attracting more trouble in this world.
He sighed and scratched the back of his dirty red hair. He needed to go into town soon; he was running out of water.
He dug in his backpack and pulled out an old map that he had made. ' Ah of course, there is a small town named Mayflower'. He nodded to himself. After this meal he'd have to pay the town a visit, if it still stood.

Regal wandered into town by this point. Dark leather armor , a well used short sword on his hip, a bow in his hand and a pack on his back. His blood red hair was thick with grime but his dark green eyes cut through the muck on his face. There were a group of people over by a body. So that was all the noise was over. ' He shrugged and looked for a trader or a tavern though the likelihood of such a thing was nil. He gave up his search after a moment. He saw a well and moved to it. I'd rather not deal with that mess. he said watching the two women, clearly bounty hunters. He held him self like a proud man but not aggressive, quiet the opposite, he seemed to have a rather lax posture.

"Actually, that proclaiming voice is me..." Anna said as she stood out. She didn't feel so shy when it came to work. It was like she had two sides to herself: one shy and the other strong and protective. Two sides of her coin.

"I guess we can split the bounty since it only seems fair. I know I am in need of money, if any of you are. It wasn't that much though, it's about 5 golden coins. MayFlower village does not make that much money, which is fine. "

"There's also an Inn in Hemingway if you all are interested if you don't know. I know the bartender there. His name is Kerry and he's a pretty big middle aged man. You all must weary from your travels. I also need to stop by the bounty office and receive the gold coins, which we shall split. "

Anna also looked at her armor and realized it was in so good condition.

"I also need to repair my armor in Hemingway's marketplace... It is nice to meet all of you. By the way, Vera, I do have a last name. But I'm not going to tell you." Anna batted her eyes and smirked at Vera. Anna felt like she was laughing inside, it was funny to her.

"Also Mahli? Is it? Your clothing, I've never seen before in this country. How did you know to investigate here?" Anna looked at Mahli.

Anna noticed that there was a newcomer to the party. She didn't know his name, but by his stature he seemed like a regular young man.

"Why, seems like someone has made it here to the village as well." Anna says to the group about Regal.

Mahli closed her eyes and took a deep breath and the girls words slid over her mind, making her think thought she had never had before. So her suspicion was correct. It seemed the girls affection was some form of mind control. Mahli looked to Anna then back to the girl, her eyes growing wider and more angry as the girl continued to speak.
"Everything has a price," she said with such deep intention that Mahli actually gave a growling purr from deep within her throat. She couldn't believe the audacity of such a girl.

Her voice became more grainy as her temper rose. "Unfortunately for you," she said looking her up and down, "The lust for money was never there."

For added measure , Mahli unhooked her war club and plopped in on her shoulder. She did not like to be messed with much like her spirit animal and she was prepared to fight if necessary. She took a step towards a window inside to calm down, but eventually turned with a solemn look to the girl.

"You'd have a much easier time with my lust for freedom than my lust for money," she looked to Anna, "or fame."

She turned to look back out of the window again, but she was forced to immediately turn at the sound of someone approaching fast.
It was the man hiding, the other anthro. She took wide steps and barely heard him ask if we were going to Hemingway. She looked at him curiously as he continued on about a path to Hemingway and that he was a guide of some sort, probably out to con her as well. As soon as his last word left his lips, Mahli raised her war club to rest just under his neck, and while he was about 3 inches taller, she stood her ground and looked to all of them, speaking with purpose.

"Let me speak now so all is clear, I am Mahli, the wind walker, i need no guide, no fame, and no currency. I came to this place after a scream was heard and i killed the monster it belonged to, as intended. Do not get so comfortable with me to assume we are to travel together, for I have absolutely no reason to trust you."

Lowering her weapon she gazed at her rabbit pelts, that were once tied to her side, had been ripped off and cover in monsters blood. She sighed in frustration and looked to Anna. "I need supplies fo I will follow you to this Hemingway so as to aquire them, " she looked to everyone and restrapped her war club and adjusted her bow, "Let's go," she walked out calmly.

"I'll go with you" Vera said slowly, looking between the three people that surrounded her. She was still seething from the ineffectiveness of her compulsion. Now Mahli would know exactly what her ability was and memories were hard to get rid of. Taking a journey with them would be risky. "But it's only because I'm a nice person and you might need my....expertise"

She made sure her words were punctuated by a long, hard stare at Mahli and Anna. They would both need to know that Vera wasn't going to be someone they could take advantage of. She was a fighter and a master of her trade. Neither of them would be the ones to bring her down from everything she'd worked for.

"You will need me you know" She smiled, directing the tiniest bit of compulsion toward Anna. "Some bounty hunters aren't nice. And I know all the mean ones. Where they live. Where they spend their time. Who's in their pretty little bingo books."

She let the words sink in to Anna, hoping there was enough truth in the lie to be believable. While it was true that she had her own bingo book, one that she updated with the bounty master of each town, she didn't know all the bounty hunters who might have a price tag on any of their heads. The only one she really knew was a man in Crosa that hated anyone with the mutations with a passion. She'd kept away for the most part, hoping that he wouldn't take any special interest in her.

"Especially in Crosa" She lied again. "They don't like people like me up in Crosa. And their bounty hunter doesn't like new hunters in his territory"

Regal stared at the women when she had the club by his neck, his sword was ready to swing upwards as soon as she had started her advance but she hadn't seemed to notice that apparently . She walked away , he put his sword away. "Manners seemed to be lost to you. Now I wouldn't help you if you begged me. And don't try to use that trick on me either, I heard it in your words." He glared at her back." In truth his head had felt foggy ever since he had heard her voice. " You are like your weapon, brutish and crude, and anyone could use you if they had half a brain." He added. Regal was not someone to push.
"Hope you know what your getting into on the main roads" he announced as he started off, He didn't get anything from this crappy little village. He paused and turned to the other two ladies. "Pardon my behavior, I mean no disrespect to you two."He said rather kindly and about faced walking to the old man of the village.
"However , you sir." He said to the village elder, back in an acidic tone. "See if I ever lead a trade caravan to this side of the world every again, not a month ago guest were treated kindly even by other guest and the village elder saw to it." He spat at the mans feet and started off back the way he came.

Regal halted and about faced, the movement seemed rough and ill coordinated. His face was a sneer. "I Had intended on such! Pardon me for being a tad irritated when someone holds a club to my head. " his words were bit off sounded like he was struggling to say them. I'm going to kill her in her sleep that witch! He walked back and stood in front of the word witch. His eyes burned at her but he otherwise seemed rather cheerful to be speaking with her. " Alright , I will reconsider. My offer again stands. One gold coin for safe and quick passage" he said more under his own control now. He was really pissed but hid it extremely well now to the point you would have had to known the man for years to tell, none of them had.

Mahli bit the inside of her lip and tried not to turn, her eyes blazing a bright gold at the man's temper tantrum in from of the whole town. She turned and grit her teeth at the onslaught of fury that welled within her, but it ceased at Vera's words and she took a few good deep breathes. She had to hand it to her, whether or not she was able to control her at all, her strong compulsion to calm was non negotiable and something Mahli welcomed, especially before anything bad truly happened.
She walked up and placed a hand on the girls shoulder and touched foreheads with hers before straightening, not moving her hand, "Thank you, friend, for you surely prevented a disaster." She gave a small but reassuring smile, removing her hand from the slight shoulder and turned towards the man in front of her now. Her eyes narrowd a slight bit and she took another breath.

"Calm yourself. Any true warrior of merit would have done the same. Not only did you run towards our presense, but you did so after an honorable, but horrific battle. You presume to know what we do and you require money for this knowledge. You also presume that we are not capable of protecting ourselves which, if you were to investigate, is untrue. If i frightened or offended you I am sorry. You should know now before we continue that my cat doesn't like suprises," looking around at the gathered crowd, "or strangers." She placed her fist up to her forehead and immediately placed that hand to her heart.

"For this I am sorry. Know I am a warrior to my very soul and will try to avoid such dealings in the future. "

Mahli adjusted her bow and looked around the townspeople staring at her and then she looked to the others, "We should leave soon if we are to reach the next town by sundown.

Regal nodded slightly. "Forgive a mans temper, I have been wander on my own for months learning new trails .I forget myself sometimes. And many kill for gold and I heard such spoken today, I meant no disrespect until I did mean it. " He said rather frankly. this was under his own accord not the power of the word witch. though their exchange had been...odd.
"And you are right if we going to make it on the marrow then we should indeed be off." He turned again "We can discuss the road when we are well enough away from it" He said as he started to walk away.

Vera glanced over the the other members of the party and the villagers who had taken to cleaning the mess the monster had made. She crossed to where he stood, keeping her head high and scanning for trouble. Her experience told her that this man was not to be trusted, not yet anyway. As she reached him she took a deep breath, preparing herself for an argument.

"You won't earn their trust by speaking in whispers with me" She said cheekily as she peeked a the map. "What do you need me for anyway?"

Vera scanned over the map quickly, it was similar to hers but was marked with a strange code. She couldn't blame him; a guide protected his pathways as closely as she protected her knowledge. In fact, she only wrote down the information she gathered in a leather bound notebook, sealed with a lock. The key was strung on an expensive chain she kept with her at all times. Vera adjusted the strap of her bag as she let him look over his precious map, her eyes scanning over him quickly.

"Actually, there was something I took an interest in back at that market. While we're talking would you mind if we walked back to get it?" She raised an eyebrow as she spoke loud enough for the others to hear. She wanted to reassure them that she could be trusted by giving them the illusion that he'd asked her to help him gather supplies.

At least she's quick witted he conceded that fact to him self. "Not looking to whisper just get off center stage. I don't want trust nor do I think I should receive it, make things get personal quickly. No my loyalty last as long as the coin does make no mistakes on that." He said as he walked with her he too spoke openly enough for the others to hear if they so chose to. He pointed to the map as he spoke trace a line that was hardly noticeable. " We can take this path, it stays near the road, I wouldn't suggest this one with all the bandit going on and what have you. As you know trouble tends to follow trouble." He glanced up at her and really got a good look at her for the first time she was rather attractive. He kept his tone a tad quieter when he started talking about different routes.
" the route I suggest is slightly long and takes over this small river here, I've got a raft we can use as well as a camp site on the other side in case we are delayed. The woods around this area have seen more monsters as of late. Rumors put some hulking thing that oozes other monsters in the area over here , right in the path of the road you were going to take." He added a little information, as long as they paid him he was theirs so he would keep them in the loop in things he heard.
" There is another rout, the longest but by far the safest. It fallows the river down about 3 miles and cuts towards the town keeping along the wood line away from prying eyes but also not in the wild.Which would you like to take?" He asked.

Vera took in his considerations, taking note of the monster. She'd spoken with a client days before that had hinted at a monster being present in the forest that indeed was rumored to cause changes. She kept her eyes down, avoiding contact with the villagers they passed.

"What you say is true, though it is not entirely." She said quietly. "There have been reports of such a monster but it does not ooze other monster. Instead the slime it leaves behind causes the change in anyone who touches it. I don't know if that applies to humans and supers but I'm not looking to find out." She scanned over the routes he had indicated once more. "We should take the longest road. We are in no rush to get to the city and I have no interest in collecting more bounties. There are several new settlements along that as well where we can stock up on needed supplies and hear news of the city and the paths that lead into it"

She paused for a moment, finding the stall she was looking for. The little blue creatures were still bouncing around in their cage, all of them looking curiously out at the people ambling past them. She crossed the street to the man selling them and pulled a small gold coin from the pouch at her thigh, handing it to him. "One of the little blue things" She said quietly, forcing her compulsion into her words. "I know the sign says four coins but I shall go no higher than one"

The merchant blinked, his eyes glazing over as he pocketed her coin and reached into the crate, pulling out one of the blue creatures. "There you are, Ma'am. They're Hazzlings, from the southern country. They eat dried fruit and grass. Not hard to take care of and they sense abilities of others."

"Thank you" Vera smiled, cradling the little hing in her hand. "You will forget this sale and that you are missing a Hazzling"

She walked back to Regal, holding her purchase carefully. "Do we have our route, Regal?" She said softly.

Vera let the Hazzling sit on her shoulder, making the tiny squeaking noise that it did. She looked over Regal quickly, finding that he'd paled in the few seconds she'd been gone. She noticed the shaky way he was walking, almost in the same way he had when she'd used her compulsion on him earlier. Vera's eyes narrowed.

"They're hardly worth a gold coin to begin with" She huffed, petting the Hazzling affectionately. "But they don't deserve to die. They're useful creatures to have around really, good for spying when they shut up long enough to do so."

Her eyes flickered back to him again as he forced himself to retake the proud composure he held naturally. She smiled briefly, snapping herself back into attention when the Hazzling squeaked in her ear. Vera reached into her bag, pulling a bit of dried apple from it and giving it to the blue furball.

"We'll need to stop at least twice. Mayflower doesn't have much to offer and we'll need better provisions" She hesitated, noticing he hadn't gained any color. "Are you alright? You look as if you're going to be sick"

"Does this mean you want me to use my ability?" Vera grinned as she took the coins. "I'll get all of them for this and he won't even remember it the next day"

She left Regal standing there looking irritated as she went back to the merchant. He looked at her in the friendly way she suspected, not remembering her at all. She dropped the coins onto the counter, using compulsion in her gaze and words as she looked at the merchant for the second time that day.

"Give me all of the Hazzlings" She said as the familiar glaze returned to the man's eyes. "And forget you ever had Hazzlings here in the first place okay?"

The merchant nodded sleepily as he handed her the entire cage of them. Ten Hazzlings in all, every single one of them chirping as they bounced around their cage. Vera smiled once more and returned to Regal, holding the cage she was given.

"Happy now?"

Regal didn't seem like one to love animals. To Vera he seemed like a "top of the food chain" sort of guy. The man was even glaring at the cage of them as he sent her to get them. He wasn't an easy one to read and Vera wasn't sure if she was glad of the challenge or if she wanted to slit his throat.

Vera raised an eyebrow at him again, confused at the way he looked almost relieved to be rid of the hazzlings. The one on her shoulder hid under the curtain of her hair, peeking out at regal as it squeaked indignantly. She looked off into the direction the hazzlings had taken, knowing that sooner or later something was going to kill them. Vera looked back to Regal, taking in the way he was looking at her, not quite the glare he'd worn earlier but still nowhere near friendship or vague trust.

"Sounds good to me" Vera nodded, trying to drive her former thoughts from her mind. Her hand wandered up to brush her hair out of her eyes as she blinked. "Will Mahli and Anna agree with this? If they don't they can do it themselves. I don't want trouble, I've had more than my share of it." The Hazzling on her shoulder was now making a crude whimpering noise and looking at Regal. "Jeeze, what did you do to the poor things, this one is terrified" Vera asked as the Hazzling ducked under her hair and stayed there.

Vera shook her head, refusing the waterskin. She didn't quite believe what he'd said about the Hazzling's fear. But it had eased up the huddling against the crook of her neck and was now bouncing happily as she walked. Vera bit her lip as he made the comment on her name, going over everything she'd gathered so far. He was a guide, he seemed to know his way around, he looked down on using her ability to get her way, he didn't trust anyone, he supposedly liked animals, His name was Regal, and she'd never heard of a guide by that name. If he had her named she could build up a mutual trust, if she refused he could decide to slit her throat before she had time to blink and neither Mahli nor Anna would bat an eyelash if he did. Choosing to raise her chances of survival she gave him her name.

Veridian nearly slipped past her lips as she opened her mouth to speak. She choked down the cursed word and managed a sharp "Vera" Instead. It was crucial that no one learn the name she'd used while she was in the northern countries. That name was a stain she had no intention of visiting anymore. Veridian meant pain, and Vera didn't cope with pain. She cringed from it, much the same way she had when Mahli had looked into her eyes. If Mahli ever found out her name and her ability....she shuddered to think of it. "Vera, my name is Vera Mason"

Vera smirked, his intent becoming clear. "Hmm...what's really on your mind Regal. I sense a little spite in that hospitality"

She grinned, watching him sharpen the sword. No matter what the situation, Vera's nature was to tease. She did it as often as she could, often using it to gather what she wanted. Most of the time it worked, effectively sealing off any suspicions at the same time as getting what she wanted from her target. She hoped Regal would be no different.

"We should go before Anna gets impatient" Vera said stiffly, adverting her eyes. Pretty? What was he playing at trying to flatter her?. "And I'm not just a pretty little thing," she trained a semi-cold glare on him. "I could slit your throat in an instant in a second and make you beg for me to do it".

She took a deep breath, calming herself efficiently. There was only so much she could take and Regal pushed the limit. Though she had to hand it to him, he was sly; nearly as quick with his words as she was. If she didn't know any better she'd take him for a con-artist, and a good one at that. Regal was clearly not someone to be taken lightly and Vera partly admired him for it. She'd probably been traveling at least as long as he had in this region, if not more.

As they walked along Vera reached into her bag to do a mental inventory count. Her bow and quiver were strapped neatly to her back, the medical kit she carried was tucked safely away, her notebook, a second blank one, several pens, the dried foods she'd kept, a water skin, a few other basic food supplies, her sewing kit, and several lengths of ribbon. Everything else was in the small, cloth pouch tied to her upper thigh. Her fingers found what they were looking for and closed around the cloth wrapping she'd tucked away in the bottom of the pouch. Inside were four, average sized, rolls filled with the gooey local cheese. She took the wrapping out, opening it in her hand. "We're going to need something to keep us going" She offered one to Regal, tossing the other two to Mahli and Anna. The fourth she took for herself and bit into it. "It doesn't sit well to travel on an empty stomach"

Regal smiled not expecting the cheese , he had soft spot for the stuff. " Agreed, hmmm I've got something that would be good with this" He dug through his pack as he walked. Where the blast is it.... "Ah. " he produced a leather roll and opened it, it contained several thick slices of cured meat. " Deer" he said offering it to the others for manners sake rather than being nice. He enjoyed the cheese savoring every bit of it. He started down the trail that he himself had originally come from in the first place.
"How did you three manage to come together?" regal asked no to long after he finished the meat and cheese.

"I tend to stay away from meats as long as I can. Never know what might have been contaminated by the chemicals in this world" Vera denied politely. She glanced back at Mahli and Anna, recalling the monster she'd found gnashing its teeth at Anna, and Mahli urging her to shoot at it. She ripped apart the roll, removing the cheese to eat first as she looked at the two women, expecting one of the two to explain how such a strange bunch had come together in the first place.

A small squeak from the hazzling still on her shoulder drew her attention to it. The soft blue fur that covered it was glowing and it was staring at Anna and Mahli, big green eyes flashing from one to the other quickly. Vera remembered what the shop keeper had said, that Hazzlings could sense abilities to some extent. But Anna was a bounty hunter, and to be a bounty hunter with an ability was nearly taboo in the larger cities. Mahli had mentioned something about a cat. Seemed her companions were keeping just as many secrets as she was.

" I checked the meat my self , But you don't have to twist my arm."
Regal paused feeling something odd circling them. He noticed a lone crow as it circle. His gift after all was to feel the mind's of animals and what have you, though this crow felt different. I felt like a mixture of the two minds he had encountered before.
The crow flew ahead and Regal left the thought where it was. " So , this is a pleasant walk is it not?" He asked trying to fill the dull silence that came with a group that apparently didn't wish to talk. The woods had started to get thicker as much as they had walked, it was almost midday by this point. His eyes watched for the crow once more though.

Vera glanced up at the crow as it flew overhead. She didn't take much of a shine for birds as they tended to be thieving, disease ridden animals. Many of them had evolved into having abilities themselves. She'd had quite an awful experience with a flock of vultures that breathed a paralyzing mist over their victims before ripping away at their flesh. All why the prey was still alive, feeling the tugs. Hearing the horrifying ripping noise as their flesh was torn from their bones. In short, birds were disgusting animals. This one in particular seemed to take a particular interest in them as the Hazzling began the irritating squeaking it had before. The little creature was hopping up and down, its eyes flicking to the crow and then back to Vera as if trying to warn her of something.

"Birds are disgusting" She said out loud as they walked, finishing off what was left of her roll. She glanced up again. "I wonder if it has a mutation."

Mahli felt stiff. The animals in the forest were all speaking to her at once again and she could barely hear the words anyone said let alone Anna, who stood next to her asking of her family and birthplace. She looked to the skies, the birds seemed to have disappeared and the lioness in her purred slightly. Danger. She saw nothing and yet she felt it, something wrong she could not place.
"I come from a fairly large nation of tribes to south. Those who have sworn away money and material possessions for life lived from the land. We are called Naaldlooshii. The skin walkers, for all in my tribe are affected. My tattoos represent the battles and milestones I have held victory over. My father, the chief, leads these people with honor. I was born affected."
Her head turned forward, wishing to say no more.
She walked forward slightly, a few feet ahead of the group. The birds in the trees, they were slowly returning to the trees above, but they seemed odd, like they had seen the devil himself. She looked around at the other members of her group and she was surprised to see them unphased. She turned back and the hair on the back of her neck stood as she heard something approach fast, she crouched low and snarled. "EVERYONE STOP!"
The forest was quite, so quiet, Mahli could hear the blood in her veins, accompanied by the padding of paws on the ground. The padding got louder and louder until a large black wolf burst through the trees. Mahli threw off her bow and took aim, waiting for the creature to move. But it just stood there, snarling and pawing at the ground threateningly. Mahli growled low at the wolf, sounding more like a lion than a woman. As soon as he was there, the wolf tore through the brush again and MAhli shot to her feet and raised her voice to the sky in a loud yelp, calling on her friends.

"HOSHI!ASONALI!"

Birds from all directions swooped above the path following in the direction of the wolf, following his trail. It wasn't until she saw it with her own eyes, through they eyes of the birds, that she knew she was right. The wolf jumped from the cliff...and disappeared.

"nan isht ahollo okpulo. The devil."

Vera drew her bow and notched an arrow, waiting as Mahli intended. She took a quick step back as the wolf appeared from the brush and, with a snarl from Mahli, disappeared again. She lowered the bow, sensing still that not everything was as safe as they would believe. She caught an irony scent in the air, coming from just east of them.

She kept the arrow in place as she walked forward to join Mahli, scanning the surrounding trees for any hint of the wolves or something worse. The entire place felt wrong, as if even the trees were still watching. She'd never met such a place that could instil such a strong sense of omen in her. She glanced at Regal, wondering if he knew that the forest would be like this.

"There are definitely things that could eat us in here, but I never expected giant wolves." She said without letting go of her arrow. "Mahli, what is this 'okpulo' thing? Doesn't sound like something we want to meet"

The Hazzling on her shoulder gave an indignant squeak and bounced off her shoulder, hitting the ground and hopping off the path into the woods. Vera returned the arrow to its quiver and strapped the bow to her back again. "Hey! Where do you think you're going" She left the path to follow the Hazzling into the trees. "Would you wait up at least?"
