Native Forest

"What an odd dream... I hope thats not how camp turns out! The group I was thrown in seemed like someone I would fight with or antisocial. I know I'm not a social bug myself but shit...."

Slowly, Ryoko forced her eyes open. To her surprise she did not see the cream ceiling she was accustomed to waking up to. Instead, her eyes stared at a bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds. "What the-" She gasped rather loudly before noticing she was laying in grass. It was soft against her skin and was rather pleasant, except for the fact she knew she should not be laying in it. Quickly, she sat up and scanned her surroundings. She was surrounded by large trees, lush plants that looked well taken care of, and odd flowers she had never seen before. 'How the Hell did I end up in a forest?' she wondered while slowly getting to her feet. She felt slightly dizzy, so the simple task took longer than normal as she tried to make sure she didn't move too fast in fear she might fall down if she did.
Beside where she had been laying was her messenger bag, which she snatched up as quickly as possibly. It as heavy like normal. After scanning the inside of it rather quickly, she was relieved to see nothing was missing and her computer was still in there. 'Maybe this is some kind of weird camp prank or something...' she told herself while looking around some more. However, the more she gazed around, the more uneasy she became. Nothing in her surroundings seemed familiar. Everything seemed too green and the air smelled like a flower shop! There were no signs of litter anywhere, which you could find anywhere you went normally. Even the horrible odor that lingered when cars gathered in one place was missing, which was a smell that had filled the air at the camp when she and everyone else was arriving.

"Your awake!" A cheerful voice screeched from behind her, making Ryoko nearly jump out of her skin. She twirled around with both first up in the air, ready to fight. However, she was nothing but the trees and plants that had been there before. "Down here!" The voice added in a small giggle. Ryoko slowly let her eyes travel down to the ground like they do in the horror movies before something jumps out at them. Before her eyes even reached the ground, they caught sight of a small green thing with large eyes bouncing up and down. "Woa!!" She gasped while stumbling backwards. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before, other than possibly on tv!

The creature was about the size of a basketball and almost the same shape, as it only had a body, tail, and a pair of ears that looked similar to a cats. Green-ish fur covered its body and large amber colored eyes stared at her. Its mouth was gaping open like a child who just received all the presents it wanted for Christmas, however sharp fangs could be seen inside its mouth. There was also a long tail attacked to the back of its body, with purple stripes at the end. It spoke perfect English, which was another thing that astonished her. “What are you?” She asked almost bewildered by the creature. Her curiosity moved her to a squatting position so she could look at the creature closer. Without thought, she softly set her bag on the ground next to her.
“I'm Nyaromon!!” It replied in a chipper voice, still bouncing. “You look like something out of a video game...” Ryoko mumbled while watching it. “I'm not a something, I'm a digimon and I'm your friend!” Nyaromon corrected with a smile, now sitting still. “I have been waiting for you for a long time Ryoko.”

Her eyes widened in shock as she gazed at the Nyaromon. “How do you know my name?” She asked, now a bit worried. Nyaromon rolled its eyes before giggling. “I know a lot about you Ryoko! I have been waiting my whole life for you!” For a moment, Ryoko wasn't sure what to say, that is, until her smart-ass side kicked in. “Shit, I guess I really do spend too much time online. And I know they say anyone can see what you put on the Internet, but this is a bit much...” With a sigh, she stood back up, holding the strap to her messenger bag in her hand. The gears started turning in her mind and she gave a small chuckled. “I've done this before..” She started shaking her head at the fact she hadn't thought of it sooner. “Its just a dream inside of a dream. All I have to do is wait till I wake up. Then everything will be normal again.” Though the thought was reassuring and quiet possible, Nyaromon shook its body (since it had no defined head). “Its not a dream Ryoko, this is all real!” Nyaromon protested, a little upset that Ryoko didn't believe her.

After pulling the strap up to her shoulder, Ryoko noticed a small hexagon shaped device attacked to the end of the strap, which hadn't been there before. She pulled it off gently before examining it. “Whats this?” She wondered out loud. The screen in the center of the device made her think of a virtual pet game her mother had once bought her. “That’s a digivice!” Nyaromon informed her, again bouncing with joy. “Digi-....” Ryoko repeated before realizing that digi usually meant digital. “Yup, that confirms it, I have been spending wayyyy too much time in front of the computer!!” She told herself while shaking her head. The small digimon gave a confused and somewhat hurt look. “Ryoko, its not a dream... We have been waiting for you guys for a long time!!”
Ryoko nearly glared at the small creature. “You guys?” Nyaromon nodded, as much as the small thing could. “What do you mean, you guys?” Ryoko asked again in a low tone. “What others?” For a moment, the small digimon was puzzled as if it didn't understand why she would ask such a question. “Gaea, Kayla, and the others...” Nyaromon replied slowly.
Ryoko face-palmed lightly before sighing. Even if it was a dream, she didn't feel like being stuck somewhere with any of them. Of course, she didn't know any of them personally, but from her first impression when meeting them, she wasn't thrilled.

“Come on! Come on! We have to make sure the others are up!” Nyaromon called after hopping a little bit away from where Ryoko stood. After putting the 'digivice' in her pocket, Ryoko gave another small sigh. “Come on Ryoko!!” The creature urged again, still hopping off in the direction it thought everyone else would be in. After hanging her head for a moment, Ryoko followed the odd creature.

Felix

Why am I looking at the sky? What happened? Probably a prank or something. But......the sky is beautiful. I won't let a prank ruin my morning.

Felix moved his arms from his side to the back of his head to support it. He arched his back a bit, listening to the dull crackles of his bones setting. He felt an odd weight on his stomach but he dismissed it. He took a deep breath and out. Huh, thats weird. It smelled really odd here. It wasn't the freshness of the pines nor the odd smell of the camp or parking lo. Just how deep did they drag him? It really threw him off.

He cheated a glance to his left and he spotted a few trees and flowers.........that he didn't recognize. That can't be right. Felix has studied most of his life into flora and he didn't know what to make of them. I mean, he's no world class Botanist, but he should at least know what species of tree those were!!! He took another calm breath. He just needed to calm down. He had just woken up. He was probably groggy and his eyes hadn't really focused yet. He was probably just freaking himself out. There was nothing to worry about. He would just lay back and enjoy the nice warm rays of the morning sun.

"Isn't the weather beautiful today, Felix?"

"Yeah....."

Felix's eyes suddenly shot open again. Where had the little voice come from? Now he was a little weirded out. "Um.."

"Hm? What's up?"

Ok, this time he knew he heard the voice, and it was coming from his stomach. He slowly angled his head forward to see what it was. When he saw it.......he wasn't sure how to react. Laying on his stomach is what he could only describe as....a blob of pink with two little, two little flippers and a beak. He felt like he should react in some way, but he didn't.

"Hi..."

"Hi, Felix. I'm glad you're finally up. I thought, since it is such a beautiful day, I would catch some rays and smell the grass a bit! I do hope you don't mind."

"Uh....sure. No problem...........I'm sorry, but, who are you? And......how...how do you know my name?"

The little blob seemed to congeal into itself and rearrange a bit. Soon it seemed to be facing towards him right side up now. It then began to sort of wobble closer to his face. The enter body was jiggling like jello as it inched closer. It was rather adorable actually. Once it's face was firmly on his stomach it spoke again.

"I'm Pururumon! I'm a Digimon, and Ive been waiting for you for a long time! The others and I can believe today has finally come!"

"You've been waiting.......for me?"

Felix slowly sat up and made sure Pururumon wouldn't fall. Then placed him down on the grass. He then got a better look about. He was in a forest, but now he was absolutely certain. No where on Earth had Flora like this. "Where are we?"

"This is the Digital World! Where we Digimon live!"

Felix raised a hand to scratch his head, then felt it connect ith something odd. He pulled the strange thing off of the fold on his beanie and looked at it. It was hexagonal in shape and had a little screen on it.

"That's your Digivice! No come on! We have to make sure everybody is OK!" Pururumon the slinked onto his shoulder. Felix then stood up. "Everybody?" asked Felix.

"Yeah, Ryoko, Alex and the others! Come on. Head that way!" Pururumon said confidently as he pointed with his little flipper. Those were people from his group. They're here too? What is going on? Felix decided it was best to meet up with them, so he headed out into the forest the direction Pururumon said.

Alex groaned as she began coming to, she looked around at the forest "This isn't camp" she said confused. She sat up and shook her head a bit. Half to fix her hair and half hoping that she was just dreaming, when nothing changed she frowned. "I wonder where I am" She thought out loud.

"You're in the digital world" said a small squeaky voice.

"What who said that?" she asked feeling panic washing over her.

"Me over here" The voice said, Alex turned around looking over at a nearby bush where a small pink ball with three small horns on its head. Alex walked over to it "What do you mean the digital world what happened to camp?" she asked.

"Not really sure All I know is that you and me are gonna be partners Alex" it said jumping up and down excitedly.

"Wait how do you even know my name?" Alex said giving the small ball a funny look.

"I told you Alex, we're supposed to be friends and partners. I am Punimon by the way." Punimon said as it jumped up into Alex's surprised arms.

"But I wanna go home!" Alex whined loudly. "I didn't even want to go to stupid camp but no mother insisted! She thought it would be good for me. I begged, whined, cried, and pleaded with her not to make me go but, no, I had to go now I'm lost in some stupid forest in the middle of god knows where!!"

"Sorry I can't send you home, now come on we need to find the others." Punimon said

"The others? Felix, and the others are here too? Great at least I'm not stuck here all alone." Alex whined as she opened her large purse. "come on you can ride in here I don't want to have to carry you" she said

Punimon got comfortable in the large hand bag and they began wandering through the forest searching for the others.

You know this is really nice. Gaea thinks his eyes slowly opening to a never before seen landscape of lush trees and unique plants. Gaea quickly gets to his feet trying to logically think of what happened to him, before he woke up there was an odd dream, but before that not much out of the ordinary. With a frustrated sigh Gaea looks around suddenly overwhelmed by the beauty Gaea reaches into his bag that he just realized was lying next to him on the ground. Taking out a pen and paper Gaea begins to write, muttering the words as he writes them



"Well you are in the digiworld Gaea" A small voice says from beside him. Looking over Gaea notices a small red round thing with bat wings for ears. Tilting his head slightly at an angle Gaea looks at it and asks "Is there anyone else like me here?"

"You mean humans?" It replies very fast.

"Yeah humans would be nice though even you are interesting" Gaea says with a smile growing on his face as he relax's into his new companion.

"Ok I will lead the way" It says starting to bounce ahead.

"Wait slow down first lets get some things straight what are you and who are you?" Gaea asks slowing things down to his speed.

"I am Jyarimon and I am a digimon now lets go." It says trying to leave again.

"Not yet I have one more question" He says reaching into his bag to grab some food.

"I will answer it if you share some of that" Jyarimon says with a wanting look that cute things often do.

"Sure I just want to know what I can eat around here and how to get it ready." Gaea says smiling not feeling shy around something not human but still intelligent.

"I will show you as we walk to the others" Jyarimon says before chomping down some of the trail mix that Gaea took out. Then Jyarimon slowly bounces away followed by gaea towards where the others are.

After a good half an hour of walking, nothing in the jungle seemed different "Can we stop and take a break? I'm getting tired of walking and I wanna go home!" Alex whined.

"Geeze, is that all your good at, whining? You haven't done anything but whine since we started walking." Punimon as said as from her purse. "Besides, I told you, you can't leave until you and your friends..." he started but was quickly cut off by Alex

"Okay,for one- you little runt- those other losers in my cabin at camp, are not my friends- lets get that straight, and two, who said I wanted to help you guys? I don't like being forced to do things I don't wanna do!" She snapped angrily.

"Geeze you don't need to be so rude! I wanna help you get home but you just can't go home yet. The digital world is in trouble! How many times do I have to explain that?" Punimon snapped back.

Alex stomped her foot in frustration and kept walking "HELLO ANYBODY HERE?" She shouted "FELIX, DARREN, ANYONE?" she shouted. "Ugh I hate this! I'm all alone in this stupid forest!" She said. She continued walking trying to ignore her aching feet, and imagined going home to her parents mansion and laying in her luxurious bed where her staff would wait on her every need. She let out a long happy sigh as she continued searching for the others.

Ryoko followed the small digimon for what seemed like hours until it finally stopped and looked around. "Well..." It paused, bouncing around in a circle to look around. "This was the meeting spot...." Nyaromon stated a little puzzled. "I'm not sure where everyone else is...." Again, it paused and looked to Ryoko. The girl simply stared back at the digimon. "I don't know where they are." she finally stated. Her shoulders hurt from carrying her bag and the fact that no one else was around was somewhat annoying-since they were supposed to have met in this stop from what Nyaromon said.
Slowly, Ryoko brought her hand to her head in almost a face-palm while sighing. Though she was fine with being alone in this new world, it troubled her to know that the others were there and were lost. Just as Ryoko went to speak, she heard someone scream from a little bit away.
"HELLO ANYBODY HERE?"
"Come on!" Ryoko called while taking off in the direction of the female voice. It sounded like someone was in a panic and she was worried if someone was hurt. As she ran, she mentally battled herself. "Why should I care about any of them?" she thought but pushed it away. Just past a few more trees, Ryoko saw Alex stomping her foot. She stopped dead in her tracks and nearly glared at the girl. "That was the rich girl...." She thought then sighed, turning to see Nyaromon. "Its just Rich Girl." Ryoko mumbled while huffing from the run a little bit. Nyaromon hopped forward and smiled a big toothy grin. "Punimon!! Glad to see you found your partner too!" Nyaromon cheered before turning to Ryoko. "Hopefully the others are near too!!"
"Yeah...hopefully...." Ryoko mumbled somewhat sarcastically while crossing her arms over her chest.
