Corro "Fang" Porter

A young but cute black haired Wolf Animan boy, with red eyes that could pierce through your soul when they are angry. Considers himself a Magic Swordsman

2 · 813 views · located in Arma Torrel

a character in “Adventures in a Fantasy World”, as played by LookingAtPerks

Name: Corro Porter

Alias/Nicknames: Fang (called often by friends, sometimes by family), Wolfy (sometimes by everyone), and Brat (by people who want to antagonize him) or even sometimes Pup or Mutated Pest (by those who just want to belittle him as much as possible)

Age: Ten

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Red

Species: Animan, Wolf Variety

Appearance: Aside from the aforementioned details, he is a short, "cute looking" boy that as a Wolf Animan has a Wolf Tail, Fangs, and Ears. Also, his fingers can sometimes get claws when he focuses mana into them. Despite his appearance, which looks a bit younger then his current age, he is gifted with great strength and speed, enough to match up to his adopted sister and adventurer parents.

Physical Specs: Superior Mana Circulation, incredibly fast runner, and is also incredibly strong. Has already mastered multiple levels of Mana Circulation, and is capable of great things. Also, his senses are as sharp as a wolf's, so his hearing, smell, and sight are all better then normal.

Magical Specs: Although he would seem like a warrior type, he is also learning and is able to use magic. His magical affinities are Time Attribute Magic, Life Attribute Magic, Water Attribute, and unknowingly is able to use Spirit Magic (Is very rare, so it isn't checked for often. As a result, a number of people who do have it can go their whole lives without knowing it). He has some affinity with Space Attribute Magic as well, but not enough to effectively use as a main source of combat.

Known/Popularly Used Magic Spells:
Chrono Restore: Removes Rust from a blade. Common Time Magic Spell.
Perception Slow: Lowers the perceptive abilities of a target, as well as their reaction speeds.
Chrono Jump: Sends himself and/or a target forward in time, but he can only manage a few seconds, sometimes only one, usually.
Ice Spike: Shoots a spike of ice.
Sub-Zero: Will begin to freeze an entire area around him.
Physical Boost: Boosts his physical abilities further.
Healing Grip: Heals whatever his hand touches.

History: Corro was not born of the Porters, but was adopted into them like his sister. The Porter Couple were both adventurers, who did enough, progressed enough, and survived long enough to decide to settle down in a village where no threat would likely come that could threaten them and raise a couple of babies, well a baby and an egg, that they had recently come across. Those grew into Corro and his sister, Quail. Corro and Quail ended up growing up as very close siblings, despite the clear species gap. Well, it might have helped that as siblings they shared the same bed since the house they lived in was a two bedroom, but they are children and siblings and doing that in this world isn't really taboo at all, especially for children!

Besides, they eat together, are bathed together, and play together anyways, and their relationship is totally platonic! (thankfully in this world, people's minds are far less dirty).

However, as Corro relized the innate strengths of his sister, he had a desire to do better. To be the brother she could rely and depend on, and not hold her down. So at the extremely early age of four, Corro began his training to become a Swordsman. But it was during his training, when he got a traveling merchant to reveal his Mana levels and affinities, did he discover he held an abnormally high number of affinities, and had high abilities for magic, allowing himself to easily become a fabled Magic Swordsman!

When Corro realized this, he became even more energized! As he would play with the other children, either in the fields or in the river or in the town, he would always put in a lot of effort and energy. He did the same with his training, dreaming of becoming a reliable person like his father. He would become strong enough to fight off all sorts of monsters.

Maybe it was his desires, maybe it was something else, but after that Corro began to increase his strength and speed steadily, but abnormally quick as well. He was reaching new heights, and pushing beyond what normal children his age could feasibly do. It was as if he was blessed by the gods or something, but the only two gods that actively did things this day was Kaporeon, who was human centered, and Gimi, who liked to let things happen naturally. There were various local subordinate gods, each had their own small shrine of worship in an area, but no one really considered that possibility.

And then, after Corro turned ten, everything would change...

Personality: Corro's personality can be a bit odd. Although he might appear shy at first glance, he can act rather boldly as well. He cares about friends and family, and would tear anyone who threatened them to pieces. Although Corro knows his parents are not his birth parents, he considered them their "real parents" as they were the ones who raised them, took care of them, and in his sister's case, hatched her. They only showed them love and kindness, as well as the occasionally witty remark or even a punishment that would leave them not wanting more when they were bad.

He can be mischievous and dark, but also humorous and filled with light. He is already willing to kill to protect his family, but if he were to lose someone important to him, it might make him go berserk. That would probably be bad for everyone involved.

He is also willing to push himself past his limits for others.

Equipment: A large sword given to him by his father when he turned eight, it was a blade that had been forged just for him. It was apparently forged from the fang of a large Wyvern (which was not a species of Dragon but a Monster), and surrounded in mithril before being refined into a blade. This has created an incredibly fine and powerful sword capable of keeping up with Corro's abilities, since he shattered his last sword silly.

So begins...

  1. Written in Pad with Vole, the intro post so it is longer then anything I would expect...

  2. BTW, People can totally still join. Completely. I just wanted to get this up to show that this will be active, this will start, this wont be an RP that dies, this is something we will be able to do and enjoy for weeks, months, maybe even years if we are lucky?

(Fair warning.  As the intro post, this was startar in advance so it will probably be longer then normal.  We will not request posts that are overly long, just long enough to be good and detailed and accurate.)

(The reason this is so long is to introduce key points, introduce me and Vole's characters, start the RP off with some light, casual stuff, as a prelude to before the first incident occurs which starts the journey. Characters will get introduced, things explained, that sort of deal. Please do not panic, no one expects you to type this much on a regular basis...though, we don't want them to be too short either got it?)

(Also, this one post should not be assumed to be the theme for the whole RP. It will get dark, it will get violent, it will get filled with all sorts of things. This is just the prelude...showing an innocent, natural life in this world....before throwing it all to hell. And remember, these are ancient/medieval times, different from our modern times, as well as being in a different world! Things will be different from what you would think, but keep in mind the technology, ethics, and morals of our own world has greatly changed in the past five hundred years! So if you come across something weird, just logic it in your head and do some research on ancient times. Trust me, it will help you understand and open your mind)

(Also, because Vole's character was involved, MartinVole helped check this over for his own character's sake, and was there for its development as well as the planning stage. So say Thank You to him for his hard word!)

In the far off mountains of Urgin, nestled in a lush warm valley between various mountains covered with snow despite it being the start of summer, and valleys which represent the roads in and out of this region, was the village of Arisa.  It was not that remote, but also it was not that commonly traveled to or from.  It was not particularly convenienced or inconvenienced, and had plenty of food, fields, rivers, and forests to suit its needs and prosper.  When it got big enough, it would likely start mines in the nearby mountains and become richer and bigger until it developed.

The village was fairly well off, and the only real threats to it were basic monsters of low danger such as Goblins, Hunter Wolves, and maybe the occasional Goblin with a higher intelligence or strength then others.  Although the villagers, if they gathered a small number together, could usually defeat them, in the past ten years they did not even have to worry about that and could focus on their jobs and trades.  That was because ten years ago, an adventurer couple arrived in the village with two babies along with them.  But it was obvious they were not their own children, because while the man was a human, and the woman was an elf, one of the children was a Black Wolf Animan with red eyes neither of them possessed, while the other was still an egg.  A large egg, that hatched into a Dragon.

In the region where the village existed, it was not hard to know about what those two would be faced with anywhere else.  Animans were often considered as a lesser race by many in the main cities of the Orvenus Kingdom, which Arisa Village existed inside of.  And others would seek to capture him, either as a trophy or as a research speciman, as not only were Black Wolf Animan considered rare nowadays, but the trait of Red Eyes was considered rare and symbollic for strong fate as well.  And Dragons, well there were many nobles out there who wanted both living and dead Dragons, to make them prizes or pets.  Even though the Dragon was of the Drocora subspecies, and could take human form once it reached the age of two, and were sentient and intelligent, this would not matter to them.  It would only make them more interested.

Anywhere else, and they would have to stay hidden in this kingdom and live a tough life, provided they remained free.  But this village was just isolated enough, and made by the right people, that they would not subject anyone, especially children, to such a horrible experience.  They did not believe in the racism and cruelty they would face, and not only made no effort to report them but even helped keep them hidden.  And so the couple became a family, and settled down in the village of Arisa, known for its fields and even moreso, its hot spring baths.

And so, the young Animan boy and the young Dragon Girl were able to grow up in the village with somewhat normal, but relatively peaceful and enjoyable lives in the village.

And so like many other times before, light began to creep into the room containing the sleeping bodies of two young children as they rested slumberly on the bed.  The air had not cooled too much over night, as it often does not during the summer, so the morning air was hot but not humid.  Therefore, the two had chosen to once again sleep naked that night.  Even if one disregarded the fact that it was considered normal and okay to do that in this world, they had been sharing the same bed since they were little and found no issue with it either.  The two were siblings that shared a strong bond of trust, and they would forever see each other as family and siblings no matter what.  Because they believed that what is important is not blood relations, but those who stick with you and live along side you.

The first one to wake up, however, was the Animan Black Wolf Boy with red eyes, Corro Porter.  As an Animan, he appeared human with some animalistic traits, such as his small wolf fangs, his black wolf tail, and his black wolf ears that replaced his main ears, and sat on top of his head instead of on the side.  As the light peeked into the room, he began to stir.  Although their bed was small, he did not hit his sister once, the Dragon Girl of the Dracora subspecies Quail Porter.  She was in her human form, with brilliant purple hair and if she were to open her eyes, would radiate blue from them most likely if the sun reflected off them.  In her Dragon Form, her scales were also a light blue.

Oddly enough, although neither of them were related by blood, they were both of short stature for their age.  Although everything else was different, other then the skin color when Quail was in human form, it was this trait that made people never doubt they were siblings, even if they were adopted.  There was also the bond they shared, and how they treated each other, so there was no mistaking that they were siblings.

Not immediately waking up his sister, Corro began his morning by performing some of his morning streatches.  Corro wanted to become an adventurer who was known as a Magic Swordsman when he grew up, and also he wanted to be the kind of brother that Quail could rely on.  Because she had natural, innate strength, Corro had trained his body as hard as he could.  Although his appearance would look like a weak, small, lanky child with no muscles, he already possessed strength over the average human adult.  Of course, soldiers, knights, and so on where all considered at least above average, and especially adventurers, so it was not something that made him already invincible.   But for his age, it was incredible.  Some even suggested he was somehow blessed by the gods.

However, despite it being one of his reasons, Corro was never jealous of Quail, but admired her as a sister and wanted to be a person that she looked up to.  He was fully aware of their positions in the rest of the empire, and wanted to be able to be there for her should something happen.  Which is he why continued to finish his warm up morning training.

" warm..." a familiar voice spoke out from their bed behind him.  He turned around, and saw Quail waking up.  She looked back at him, and smiled a little.  "Good...your not dressed yet...that means I didn't sleep in too much..."

Although the two of them were boy and girl, they were siblings who had shared pretty much everything with each other and had not only seen each other naked hundreds of times, but bathed naked together, had breakfast together, even trained together when they could.  They were very close, and neither of them really minded the other.

"Yeah.  I don't hear anything from the other rooms yet, so I think mom and dad went out on patrol.  Or maybe, they had errands to do?  I will go chec...wait, what is this?"

As Corro approached the door, he noticed there was something lodged undernearth.  After he picked it up, he read the title and then became shocked.  He immediately ran across the small room and jumped onto the bed next to Quail, landing in a back laying down position as he moved so their shoulders were right next to each other touching.  And then, he showed her the newspaper that their parents had left for them.  It was nowhere near as big as modern day newspapers from other worlds, but they also were not usually distributed except for once a season at the start, at least in their village, because of the cost and importance of paper.  Although books could be produced, they were meant to last awhile, while a newspaper was something that was only meant to be read once or twice, so they usually never delivered more then they felt they should.  Yet for some reason, they had delivered a special version.

There were various things that were written on the front page alone that were shocking and staggering however.  For one thing, it said that around six weeks ago that a Chaos Dragon had appeared around the Dungeon City Saria, and combined with the other chaotic events, it had been ecided that it would change from the current Era, the Era of Advancement that had been maintained for 4043 years, to the Chaos Era, of the First Year.  That was very significant, but so was the Chaos Dragon appearing in a large city.  They were commonly told in stories and legends, and it was confirmed that they often had body counts that got to the thousands or even millions.

However, what had also caught Corro's eye was something else.  It was known Chaos Dragons were an entirely different species then normal Dragons or Dracora, so the Chaos Dragon was not only seen as something different from Quail, but it was also known that Chaos Dragons liked to eat other Dragons to get stronger.  It was why he felt he had to show her immediately, before either of them had even gotten dressed.

"However, by a miracle, a group of adventurers, no, legendary heroic adventurers, managed to team up and work together to cast an ultiimate spell.  It is confirmed that they were already in an established party and even living together, however while they all contributed, their leader was able to use the power of the spell and go to fight the Chaos Dragon alongside his lover.  These two managed to fight against the Chaos Dragon, and lure it into their trap before slaying it before it had even managed to produce casualties of a number outside three digits.  Not only is this worthy of praise, but as this had been inside a populated city, even if it was Dungeon City Saria full of adventurers, where even their children could fight the swarming lower level monsters and calmly maintain party formation while killing them and providing support, to have that low of a body count is truly a miracle.  And their leader was confirmed to be a Fire Dragon, possibly of the famed Ignius clan, even though he was only as we learned a ten year old boy of incredibly short stature.  Well, his achievments surely prove that despite his size, he is a Child of Fate that saved us from what could have been a world class disaster!"

Although by the time he realized it talked about height, it was too late as he was already near the end and was sure that Quail had already read that part, he figured the inspiration of it and amazingness of it would not cause a negative reaction for that.  Rather, he hoped learning this would only provide her more hope and happiness since it proved they both could be great heroes despite their size and age.

And upon hearing all that, Quail looked at Corro and said...

"So I guess this means Dragons are more heroic then Animans".

"Why you..."

She had said it jokingly, but Corro responded by tickling her body all over.  Because she hadnt gotten dressed yet and was still naked, she had nothing to protect herself from his tickles.  However, Corro was still naked as well, so inbetween laughter and spasms from the tickles she tickled him in response, which caused them both to eventually laugh themselves into exaughstion and collapse next to each other on the bed, their arms crossed and spread out while their legs were just spread out.  But neither of them minded the other's tickle torture, because they were siblings that got along great and had a strong bond.  To them, this had just been another game to play.

Looking back at the collection of paper that had the emergency news written on it, the two smiled warmly.

"Isn't this amazing?  I mean, its bad that the situation around the world is getting so bad they renamed it to a new Era, but this proves it.  Soon, we can finish our training and become adventurers ourselves.  The two of us, working together, we would be unstoppable!"

"Yeah!  We will show them!  We will be the biggest, bestest adventurers of this new Era!  We will...huh, what is that?"

As Corro and Quail cheered, Corro had stretched his arms into the air and a small piece of paper came out from inbetween the pages of the newspaper.  Quail noticed it first, so after he saw it Corro picked it up and read it.

"Dear Corro and Quail, this is mom and dad.  We thought you might want to read this emergency news since it seemed important.  However, please dont sleep in too much.  Remember that tonight is the Summer Festival, and make sure you get yourselves up early, take a good bathe, and then come to help set things up.  I know you two have a habbit of sleeping in and being late, so if you are late, I will give you both a spank......"

Corro stopped reading the note out loud as he turned pale.  Although their parents were nice, wonderful people, Corro and Quail often ended up late because either they woke up late or lost track of time.  They had also been late to the last two Summer Festival Setups, and  their parents were not afraid to help make sure they were properly motivated to do their jobs.

"Quail, quickly!  Grab a change of clothes!  Uhg, its already late into the morning!  Okay, we will sprint towards the River, bathe with the other children quickly, and then get dressed afterwards!"

As children in rural areas often played nude in the summer when it was hot, running as they were would be no issue.  On the other hand, Corro really wanted to be able to sit down tonight so the prioerities were easy to establish.  He quickly grabbed his clothes and a change of shoes as Quail did the same, and the two of them sprinted towards the River at speeds abnormal for normal children.  As a result, they were able to reach the river and dive into the water in record time.

"You two appear to be working hard".

Nearby, there was a woman with a large group of village children all taking a bath just like Corro and Quail.  As they lacked access to advanced medicine or doctors, and because magic was bad at dealing with disease, it was common practice for an adult to supervise and assist those under thirteen and not an adult bathe so they would get properly clean and not catch disase.  As Corro and Quail were still ten, she would normally help them but...

"Quickly!  Scrub harder!"

"I am trying!  You too!  And pass the soap!"

The two were going full force.  The woman had a good idea why too, she had remembered their mother saying something about motivating them.  And she wasn't known for saying things without the intention to follow through.  And right now, they were both in sync, often switching sides so that one could wash the other's back and such, and then switching again, and then sometimes facing each other and doing it simultainously.  They were even using soap.

She grabbed both of their shoulders, swung them around so they were side by side, and finished up them both.  They were in such a hurry, while they made great progress, they had missed a few areas including the bottom of their feat and the part of the body they had been sitting or kneeling on.

"Please do remember to be careful and thorough, okay?"

"Yes, yes.  Now...."

"Is that enough?"

"You should be goo...."

"Alright Quail, lets get moving!"

Before the two could jump out of the river, they were both grabbed by their tails.  Quail was not sure when her tail even came out in the first place onto her human form, but on occasion her transformations did go awry.  But the two of them had been caught quite litterally by their tails.

"Now hold on, you two need to rinse off and stay awhile here.  The festival setup is not going to start for some time, and even if your late I will explain to your parents that I stopped you.  You need to relax anyways, to swim around and cool off before you get out".

Hearing her words, the two looked at each other before turning back and nodding at her.  She released their tails, and the two entered the middle of the river where the other children were.  Just like them, they were also naked because no one had invented swimsuits yet.  The idea had been thought of several times, but....

"What is the point?  Wont it cause the same effect anyways of wearing clothing?  Pointless".

And got rejected like that.

Although Corro was a good swimmer, he was no match for Quail despite it not even being her element in the first place, that being wind.  But he was defienntly a good swimmer himself, just nowhere near the best.

"Corro!  Quail!"

"Fang, Gale!"

As the other children called out to them by name and nickname, they ended up swimming around for a bit while talking about the latest news they heard.  They also ended up talking about the various things they had been doing, like Corro or some of the other boy's training, or Quail's latest magic development.  Because it was a small village, many of the younger children taht were not born first would likely try to become adventurers, or at least village guards.  After all, they only needed so many people to operate the fields, and it would require a lot more food if the population of the village only kept increasing.

They were vaguely aware of the mortality rate of adventurers too, but they all had hopes and dreams they did not want to give up on.

"Ahhh....days like this, are really nice..."

"Yeah!  Although, you might be a good swimmer, but isn't your swimming style a bit silly?"

Because he was part Wolf Animan, Corro would switch between having his whole body below and doing a doggy paddle.

"Alright.  It looks like some time has passed.  Children, we should get out, get dressed, and start..."

Before she could finish, the two jumped out of the river and were drying off, before they got dressed and ran off towards the center of the village where the festival would be held.  The woman could only laugh as she thought that their mother had definently motivated them this time around.

Corra was wearing a basic T shirt and shorts, and Quail was doing the same.  Their tails were just sticking out from the shorts, waving up and down as they sprinted.  In their hurry, they had forgotton to put on the shoes they had stuffed inside their bags, but for them running barefoot was probably easier.

And so as the two of them raced off, no one had yet noticed that the mana concentration in the air was steadily increasing.

"We cant be late Quail!"

"I know, mama can get really scary in punishment mode!"

And so as various forces began to move around and towards the village, they had just kept running forward.  They had no intention of stopping, because even with permission they wanted to avoid getting into any potential trouble at all.  After all, they knew just how bad punishments could get.  They were planning to take the most direct route as well...

But suddenly, the ground collapsed underneeth their feet the moment they stepped onto what appeared to be a normal patch of ground.  Yet now, a hole had opened up, and sharpened wooden spikes had been placed below.  If that woman or the children had fallen into this, it would have been bad.  Novice adventurers could have been gotten by this trap as well.

But Quail was able to use her wind magic to push them away from the hole before they got stabbed, staying alive.  Corro took a step back as he analyzed things, but another hole was triggered behind them.  Corro was able to step forward before he fell in, but it proved this area was riddled with traps.  This was exceptionally rare, and when it did happen it was usually one of the hunters that warns them.  However, none of them would actually put traps between the river and the village.  Which meant, no one of the village would have made these traps.

Corro used mana circulation to enhance his abilities, while also sending out a mana pulse to try and detect hidden monsters nearby who were not concealing their presence, or where not able to.  As a result, several Goblins wearing some sort of leather armor came out holding weapons, and one was holding a staff.  The Mana pulse was not magic but a mana circulation technique, but as a result anything that could use mana would sense it.

"These....don't look like normal Goblins!"

Corro gave an analysis, as light blue wings appeared out of Quail's back.  They seemed to phase through the shirt, but looked like the shirt was pinned under them and implied they were still connected to her back.  In one go, she took to the skies while evading any attacks and made her own from above.  Meanwhile, Corro had not brought his sword to go bathing but he did have his claws.

By focusing some mana circulation into his hands and fingers, Corro could generate wolf claws to use on the enemy and help in in unarmed combat.  Although his goal was to be a magic swordsman, he was aware of the possibility of being attacked unarmed and also trained in hand to hand combat.

While Quail began to focus on the archers and the one Goblin with a staff in the back, Corro engaged the ones that had swords.  Corro was able to jab his claws into one of their arms, force it to twist around, and then grabbed the sword that fell and stabbed it into the Goblins's neck.  Another one came and and slashed at his body, but only his clothes got a bit cut up as he pivoted around the Goblin corpse while lunging at the second Goblin, forcing his claws into it's neck and then ripping it out.  He then picked up the sword the Goblin used, and looked at the remaining few.  They had yet to back down, and seemed to be underestimating the two of them.

One of the Goblins began to charge forward...and then flung the sword it pretended to be drawing at Quail!  Corro was able to knock the sword surprise attack away, jumping up to intercept, but it was a rare and dangerous stratagy since it meant losing your weapon.  For Goblins, it was stupid, but they were stupid as well.  But it was also crafty.

Quail, annoyed at the goblins and their tricks, ran up and jumped off of Corro's shoulder, appearing above them with without wings, before dive bombing them by falling to the ground while punching it as hard as she could.  In addition, she let loose a blast of wind at the same time using magic, which caused several Goblins to die or go flying off their feet.  After that, it was simple to finish off the now scattered goblins who could not effectively work together.

After that, they quickly finished running towards the village after setting off the remaining traps, and immediately ran towards their parents.  At first, they seemed a bit annoyed or impatient, but when they ran closer they saw that Corro had several cuts on him and his current clothes were in tatters from all the grazing hits.  Normally, Corro could take on a squad of Goblins solo without worry.  So if he had gotten into this stage, it would be very bad.  The two of them understood that.

"What happened?"

The man, their father, immediately asked that.  As one of the main protectors of the village, he had to learn the situation immediately.  Even though his son was in that state, he couldn't tell him to relax in the hot springs to help recover with his sister first or get new clothes, but about the enemy they had encountered.

Corro explained it to them in detail, about the Goblins that had weapons and armor, and one was even a mage.  These types of Goblins only rarely appeared near the village, and usually it was one leading a group of weaker, dumber goblins.

"This isn't good, its possible a large number of them are for some reason migrating this way.  Those were the ideas he was thinking about.  Meanwhile, a young looking elf woman came up to them....

"Eric!  We need to help our children as well!"

"Ah.  Alright, can you handle that Lily?  I need to ge investigate".

"Very well, but later we should all take a nice good family bath at the hot springs".

"Alright, if there is time..."

Eric ran off to see about the other areas nearby, while Lily remained with them.

"Look at this, your clothes got a bit torn up in the fight.  Alright, I will get you a robe or tunic or something nice to wear.  In the mean time, come on and follow me, I am sure you need to rest and clean up or take another bath after all that intense fighting..."

While this was going on, a number of figures were watching from a long distance through some telescopes.

"Looks like we finally found all we need to do is capture them alive.  I don't care if you break thier limbs, or even use them for pleasure, but I wont be happy if they die.  Well, breaking them mentally is fine too".

And so began what by morning tommorrow, Corro and Quail would come to see this as the worst day of their lives....

(This was just to get everything started, to establish various points, to introduce some characters and events, and start the prelude to the first incident that will start the journey)

In the skies, the blue and clear skies...well normally it would be, but for one small...glaring problem. The massive rift that covered well...half of the planet. It was a pretty glaring thing, but it was what poured out of it that was the more interesting problem. Many objects poured out, strange items, unknown things, and humanoid figures.

One figure in particular was falling down from the skies with cups of tea spinning around her. The tea that was once inside those cups of course were no longer in their cups. The strange figure upon closer examination was a woman in a rather peculiar choice of outfit. A dress suit, red tie and a skirt to which she was holding.

Of course, most people would be screaming their lungs out from a rather large drop. Of course for this particular woman she was more worried at the many sights, fields of green, large sticks with leaves on them, everything was quite colorful and new...Of course with the threat of crashing into the ground the woman casually spread out her six black wings from her back.

While everything else crashed to the ground shattering into many pieces of fine porcalin, the woman began to glide safely to the ground and landed on her two feet around some sort of mountain range. Dusting off her clothes she looked around and the unfamiliar sights. Everything was so new, more colorful, and less dark and lifeless.

"Hmmmm...What an interesting stick." The woman spoke to herself. She did not question how she got her, she did not even question why. She simply walked up to said 'stick' in the ground and examined it with curious eyes. Of course, this was but a normal tree. But for the woman it was something brand new.

Walking around the tree, giving it a few curious pokes, the woman suddenly decided to leap up into the branches sticking out from the top and wrapped a tail around it to sit in the air. Quite curious indeed, it was a sturdy nest of sticks. However this was short lived as she stopped using her tail to hold onto the branch and simply glided to the ground once again.

Her mind was now occupied by something else, the pieces of porcalin on the ground for that matter. "A shame really, I had enjoyed those cups. Not that cup though." She would speak to herself as she pointed at a shattered cup. She would soon tap her chin in thought. Forgetting about the cups entirley she looked at the ground below her. It was green, of course she did not know how it felt with her dress shoes on her feet. It looked weird, but it was quite colorful. She wondered what this was...

And then it hit her, in the literal sense. An object fell on her head and landed next to her. Now, an object falling from that height would have probaly done more than cause her to rub her head. In fact it probaly would have killed someone in normal circumstances. But of course she appeared beyond normal.

Looking at the object on the ground was a bat, a silver bat at that. That was one of her items, not caring that her life would have ended from said bat she picked it up and examined it. Everything was fine, at least it did not shatter like the cups. Now...with her mind now back on track she wondered what to do now.

Flying back up to the rift was not possible for her...even if she could this land was far to interesting to think of leaving. Who knows what she could find here. And even if she had a way to leave...chances are that something else would instantly take her attention away. But of course for her this was all normal.

While the woman's mind was of course a jumbled mess, from her already peculiar mind and the shock of all the curious sights. She was far too busy in her own thoughts then the threat that was already appearing. Small green creatures, armed with swords, maces and daggers wearing cobbled together leather and plate, these small creatures were a wild group of goblins that were after two things. Shiny objects and food.

A group of six appeared seeing the items falling from the sky and stumbled upon the well dressed woman, who was now sitting down looking at a worm crawling through the grass. Now, an oppurtunity to get a drop on a person was far too good to pass up for these goblins.

With weapons raised, the band of green creatures began to approach the woman snickering as they did. It was until one stepped on a peice of broken porcelain that caught the woman attention. More curious than wary of danger she turned her head around to see what it was. And that was when the goblins charged all at once with a feral scream.

The woman of course stood up and leaped into the air as the band stabbed the spot that she was sitting at. "Oh? I know that greeting. It was those two, they always brought weapons as they meet up and begin to fight...Ah, I think I know how that goes." The woman suddenly narrowed her eyes as she raised her bat. "My name is Karolin. Prepare to be beaten horribly...Is that how they pronounced it? Hmmm...They might not speak my launguage. But they know a custom greeting. I should talk to the, one day..." The woman pondered to herself while the goblins rushed forward brandishing weapons and let out a war cry.

"Of course, not everyone enjoys those greetings. Those that usually do that first cause many people to actually tell them to knock it off...but then there are those that respond in kind...maybe this place has new customs...I'll try this first then find out after we exchange greetings." She nodded to herself as she pulled her bat back and sung at the first goblin that went for her.

The silver bat impacted the goblin, not only cracking the goblins chestplate, but sending the small green creature flying into a tree. It should be fine, they usually get back up. Some don't though...But that's the danger of this greeting. In any case her mind back to the task brought her bat down on the second goblin which impacted the creatures head and sending it into the ground with a rather dented helmet. The third goblin she was about to hit the creature with her bat until she suddenly dropped it.

For some strange reason she just dropped her weapon. Only to twirl around to slam her foot into the creature instead sending the creature screaming and flying. The next one she avoided the creatures dagger as it lunged fourth and quickly grabbed it before jumping into the air with it and elbow slammed the creature into the fifth goblin.

The final goblin of course continued its attack and swing its mace into her leg as she had elbow slammed the others. Unfortanantly for the goblin this did not really cripple her at all, she dusted herself off and with one final move went with a forward kick sending the creature flying a few feet back.

"And that should be the last one, a fair greeting I suppose...Did I do that correctly? I wonder if..." Karolin suddenly went quiet as she saw a butterfly pass her line of sight. Picking up her bat, she began to follow the strange creature pretty much switching attention from the small group of goblins which may or may not be seriously injured or dead.

Of course as she followed the butterfly she stopped for almost every sight, from rocks covered in moss, to even the trees once again. She wandered around the forest until he heard something sounded like noise in the distance. Not the normal noise she heard back home which was like the greeting she gave those six creatures earlier. It sounded like...something more organized...Now that caught her attention. With one last look behind her, she was now prepared to start her new adventure.

  1. Ended up being longer then I expected or intended, but whatever. Now everyone is at a point where they could interact with anyone they wish.

Corro was a bit confused by the order of events. Rather, he was absolutely confused. Quail was a bit as well, but it was a bit understandable as to why they were confused. Of course, the confusion only lasted for a second, but still.

In this world, there were three primary causes of death. Other people, monsters, and disease. And it was not in that order. Although other people could not be called low, monsters and disease were both higher on the list. So it wasn't uncommon that someone knew some way to defend themselves. That way, a farmer wouldn't die if a single goblin happened to walk by. Additionally, this would also allow them some defense against other people. There was also a heavy importance placed on bathing and hygine in this world, because medical knowledge and technology was low and magic was bad at dealing with disease so they had to do what they could based on what they did know. And because of that, society had evolved. Games that involved activity and physical training were popular, as well as contests and events, and things like coliseums were people could die were allowed as it would let them train better warriors. Of course, non-active games were also promoted to help train the mind as well, so they weren't shunned or unpopular. And because people learned to have fun in water, taking a bath had become a time for children to play together while becoming clean, or for adults to maybe also play or talk and discuss things openly.

Hence things developed in such ways. Of course, it wasn't that he disliked the was just that...

"I am sure there were circumstances involved, since I know even upper level Goblins could not normally get you like that. You were probably in a hurry and got caught in their trap..."

Their mother told them this in a kind voice as they went through some back streets and found themselves at a field. At first, they had been headed towards a hot springs known for healing injuries and wounds that the village had recently found and became more known for, but they ended up making a detour after they got Corro some new clothes that were not scratched up from home. But because of the clothes she had chosen, Corro had a bad feeling.

Because it was a tunic and shorts made out of extremely valuable Demon Beast Leather. It was still light armor, and to most people looked like normal clothing...but what he was wearing now was comparable in protectiveness to Knight Armor.

And as they stopped in the middle of the field suddenly, their mother pulled her staff from her waste. Reacting to the movement before she even finished, Corro had pulled out the sword his father gave him when he was eight. He also entered a battlemode stance. At the same time, Quail already had her claws and wings out and had taken up a position neither too far nor too close to Corro. All of their movements were in sync, and it was clear this was not the first time this had happened even if a novice were to see this.

"You did say bath though...but I see you meant something entirely different when you said clean up".

"How much time you can enjoy it depends on how long you can survive against me. Besides, while daddy is checking the perimeter, I need to evaluate your skills. A few Goblins shouldn't have given you this much trouble, even if it was a surprise attack when you had no sword".

Eric and Lily Porter were their adopted parents. Corro saw them as their real parents though, and disregarded the adopted part, same as Quail. However, one might think that they retired because of old age, or because they found children and decided to raise them, or because they had no talent in becoming high ranked adventurers who only protected a village against Goblins.

However, if they knew their real stats and capabilities after insulting them, many would pee themselves and run away in fear. That was because they both held the status of A-Rank Adventurers, who could potentially be S-Rank. Eric Porter, also known as "The Unseen Sword" because he was capable of swinging a sword so fast no normal people could see it move. And then there was the elf, Lily Avangelus Porter. Avangelus is her maiden name, to be clear. She was also known by her nickname, "The Witch of Magus". Why? Because she had more magical affinities then most people, even Corro if you counted his partial affinity in Spacial Magic and his unknown talent for Spirit Magic didn't come close to her. She held a mana pool some might call "monsterous", and while she was nice and sweet, in the battlefield or even training she was intense.

In other words, they were both people that held enough power that they were on a short list of if they were in the area, to contact if a Chaos Dragon appeared nearby or some other National Disaster Level force.

And she was about to go even further then before in her training of Corro and Quail.

"Stone Lance!"

While calling out the spell name and using her staff, three magic arrays appeared in front of her. This was thanks to her special skill, Multi-Parallel Thought Processing. Most people would find it difficult to cast more then one spell at a time, but she had trained herself to do just that as her large mana pool, mana quality, and magical affinities let her do so. She only had one mouth though, so she could only call out one spell name at a time. But she could produce three arrays at once, call out a spell name, and use her staff all at once.

So what came flying at the two of them were Stone Lances, Fireballs, Ice Spikes, Wind Blades, and Light Beams. The Light Beams used to be a spell that was harmless, but she one day found that she could shave off some frequencies of light and then focus it into something painful.

In other world terms, lasers. She could cast laser spells. And Corro and Quail were their targets.

Quail took a deep breath, and blew everything she could away in that instant. However, that would only work on the Fireballs, Wind Blades, and Ice Spikes. Lasers and Stone Lances were unaffected, and would have killed them had her teamwork with Corro not been perfect.

Corro swung his large sword while focusing on heavy mana circulation. He was able to smash all of the Stone Lances with his sword, while speeding both him and Quail up. They dodged the lasers while doing all this, but that was far more reasonable then trying to dodge or outrun everything. They had tried that before, always ends badly.

"Impressive. I had even increased the amount this time...but what about this!"

She then raised her staff, and one large Magic Array was formed. However, there were multiple arrays connected to it. This was known as an Advanced Magic Array, combining multiple spells to form one single, large spell of complex nature. Furthermore, it was at a size that a normal person if they used every drop of mana in their body to fuel could never create.

"Chaos Realm!"

As she cast that spell, Corro and Quail gave up on dodging. It was a super large spell with a wide area of effect that had the ability to only target certain people of the caster's choosing. A special spell their mother had developed. It was once described by a master wizard as "Completely unfair" and "Banned from Magical Contests". It would render a large portion of damage all at once, and would often knock out the people she used it on. If you were not trained or experienced enough, it could even accidentally kill you.

Instead, they focused on defense. Quail unleashed a huge windstorm around herself to deflect or negate the damage and impact, while Corro focused on using mana circulation to harden his skin and healing ability while also using Life Magic, the spell he created called Physical Boost, to enhance his physical abilities further. However, instead of using it over his whole body, he would move the effect constantly using his mind to whatever area was about to be impacted, increasing efficiency and decreasing damage taken. The only good thing about this spell was that the caster couldn't enter either, not even their mother, and her attacks couldn't reach them because the zone would suck up all mana that wandered too far from the source.

Once that attack was broken, the two immediately stepped forward...but found blades of ice come from behind and touch their necks. Corro was able to deflect one, and another just barely missed after veering off course, but the third caught him by surprise. His mother looked a bit shocked, but regained her composure.

"Just because I cant enter doesn't mean I can't move. You cant trust your opponent will be in the same spot like you want, they may deceive you and be somewhere else. That said, good job on holding out in Chaos Realm".

In truth, surviving Chaos Realm had nearly tapped them out. Inversely though, they were actually capable of surviving that spell. One should give them praise.

"Now, I am sure you might want to take another bath. But that can be after the festival, we need to get to work after all!"

It was the whole point of this mess in the first place also. The Summer Festival, different from the Harvest Festival. WHile the Summer Festival had a lot more activity, games, and even dancing from various children and young adults in the village, the Harvest Festival had a bit less as people were often too tired from the harvest itself. The Summer Festival was to celebrate life anyways, not the harvest.

There was even a special event where boys and girls would wear Tatas and put on a special dance. Tatas were a type of clothing invented around one thousand years ago, and could be used for casual days, parties, and ceremonies depended on how you decorated it. It was a cross between a tunic and a dress (only comparable because of length), and during ceremonies would have colorful ribbons attached to the end so as they moved it would create a colorful event.

There would also be various music played, though they hoped by people who had gotten some skill, and there would be some rather nice food brought out. This included various Demon Beast meat that their parents had gone out and hunted further away from the village. It was always tasty. In particular, Flameboar was a famous delicacy.

"Ow! Hey!"

"Sorry sweetie, but I had to claim a trophy somehow".

She had pulled out a bit of fur from his tail, but what Corro had failed to notice was that she made an excuse. As they headed back through the side streets towards the main festival, they could hear all sorts of noises. FOr now, the two siblings would be among the people, helping out and maybe getting into trouble, as forced converged on their village and their mother slipped away to learn something.

Meanwhile, deep in the forest....

"What the...why are there so many Goblins? I should finish exterminating them and get back...but they just keep coming. I, could it be...a Goblin King?"

Their father was about to uncover a further mystery.

(For those who are wondering about time, by the end of this post it is between early and mid afternoon. That battle was intense, and longer then it seemed though. Anyways, hope you enjoyed!)

Bellatroix had assumed a form more suitable to the cold in the midst of the snow, something akin to a large wolf, with a long striped tail, and wide toothy grin, the ears, black and laid back, head down against the howling winds, a black stripe running down its back, and its colors, gray white, and black. Its face was covered in the purple cloth. She didn't know how much longer she'd have to endure the snow, but soon she'd find the air getting slightly warmer, and soon after, the ice replaced with grass. Stopping to look around by uncovering her left eye, the purple one, revealing a star mark visible under it, she finds a lush green, with trees and birds. Lifting up one of her claws, she pulls back the rest of the cloth obstruction.

"Honestly, perhaps I am just getting too old, I see no foreboding doom," she muttered to herself. With a momentarily perplexed expression, she shakes her head and laughs at the thought, smacking a paw over her head. "Oh what am I saying? Old? Such a human thing to say!"

Suddenly she stopped, something catching her attention, her ears perking up at a sound. What is this, she wonders, as she steps closer, until it became clear. It was music! Festivities, no doubt! Well, this form would not do for a presentation!

Suddenly, with twisting flesh and hair, she stands up upon her hind legs, teeth, bones, flesh, rearranging themselves, twisting, cracking, now fitting well within her dress. She had a dark skin tone, and flowing long black hair and black lips, a nose slightly darkened. She had the look of a human woman, in her late 20s, early 30s, standing only a little tall at just under six feet. One could say she was beautiful, a beauty that was most accepted, anyways, while not a vain being, she does lack a certain... subtlety. In another, somewhat... strange, haunting perhaps is a word. As her metamorphosis finished, she dusted off her shoulder, only to hear a shrill gasp by some trees beside her. Glancing around, she caught a whiff of something, goblins, surrounding the area, no less. Some stood there, eyes wide in horror at her display... she narrowed her eyes at them.

"Are you the cause of the disturbance?" she asks, her voice calm and cold. They do not respond, perhaps they do not comprehend the tongue, easy to rectify. She repeats the question again, this time in Gobli, stepping back they cautiously decide between fight or flight. They were not the brightest creatures around, but a horrorshow is still a horrorshow, and there are legends that speak of a creature wearing the many skins of its victims! "On second thought, as annoying as you may be, harbingers of doom you are not," she continued with a sigh, before turning to walk on towards the village, only to hear a shrill scream and the rustle of feet! They had decided to attack, after all, the poor stupid creatures. Within a second they lunged towards her, and within that second, there was a sound, a woosh, and then their bodies hit the ground, their heads landing not far away. Bellatroix continued without stop, her barbed tail's spines retracting, the tail hiding itself into her back. "Regrettable, but perhaps one day your kind shall move past its urges, with the right incentives, that is..."

She found herself by a village, festivities all around, music and decorations littered the streets. She was shocked for a moment, her eyes widening, before a smile crept across her face. She stopped for a moment to take in the atmosphere. It wasn't often she got to partake in pleasantries, perhaps... it would not hurt to. Within moments she mingled into the crowd, dancing to the beat and checking the various stalls like some average tourist from afar.

Quail had put on a show of her own to the other children, standing atop a stool, telling tales of dragons, boasting her own heritage, even letting out her best dragon roar which... sounded closer to a cat's "rowr."

"Y'see, one day I'm gonna be one of the great ones, with the cool big wings and the mighty horns!" she says, holding her arms up high into the air baring her teeth in a dramatic display. "People will come across from lands around to pay tribute, and... and... um... I'll fight monsters, not just silly ol' goblins, but like... Horrors and Orcs! Saving whole villages, and retrieving lost artifacts! I mean, after all, a dragon's gotta go big, it is only-"

Within moments she notices a woman in purple cloth leaning over and listening, smiling.

"A dracora whelp?" she said, with a chuckle, pushing down Quail's goggles over her face with a finger. "How peculiar, I don't sense any that could be your parents nearby."

Quail grunts, pushing her goggles up back atop her head and gives Bellatroix a glare. "Hmph! First off, it is Quail, not whelp!" she snaps, folding her arms and closing her eyes to pump herself. "And I'm adopted, thank you very much, and I'm perfectly fine with that!"

"So I see, I had not assumed you were unhappy," she responds, with a soft voice, before placing it on her chest, her smile unbroken. "And I am Bellatroix, by the way, I just arrived here and... my oh my, what a nice village you have here for yourself, like an oasis in the desert."

Quail looks perplexed, on one hand she seemed friendly enough, on the other, she now noticed the state of her dress, which looked unsuitable for travel, and her eyes were... strange. She smelt... not bad, per se, but very strange, it was quite confusing, really. Whatever it was, something seemed off about this woman, who soon wandered off, distracted by a snack stand, now swaying to the beat of the music.

"Bellatroix," she mutters, scratching her chin, before looking around in the crowd and waving her hand, signaling for her brother, Corro. "Hey! Does Bellatroix ring a bell to you!?"

After the third mask, Corro was politely asked to go and take a break and play.

"You sure? I can do some more smiley faces".

"Those were smiley faces...."

"Huh? What did you say?"

Corro didn't properly hear because of loud background noise.

"Nothing really! Nothing at all! Anyways, kids your age need to play as well"

It seemed the man did not want to admit what he said to Corro. In truth, Corro was very skilled, but his natural talent had actually been low. It was through hard and diligent work that he got his skills, but because he never worked on his art skill much, he couldn't paint. He could sing though, and dance, but not paint or draw. He could cook though!

Because everyone knew he worked hard, and they knew he always diminished his own skill and effort, many people had a tendency to praise him. However, the one thing he thought he was good, or at least okay with, was the one lie in their praise. THey never admit to Corro he had no talent for painting and drawing, so it was never corrected.

Corro just shrugged, and accepted what the man said. As a result, he headed towards a nearby spot and began setting up a small but quick board game to play with someone. As he just finished...

"Ah! Mind if I join you?"

A boy, who was a bit bigger then Corro (more then a bit, keep dreaming Corro) came up and sat down on the other side.

"Ah, sure. Are you okay? You seem out of breath".

"Yeah, just ignoring two people I am traveling with. One is a bit too preachy, the other is just plain annoying. Ah, my name is Kyo. What is yours?"

"Cool. Ooooh, is this Apocalypse?"

"Yeah. Wanna play?"

And so, the Black Animan and the God began to play a child's game peacefully and calmly.

Meanwhile, out in the forest, there was a man who was swinging a sword around executing GOblins like it was nothing, heading into the eastern part of the village since he would then find his family, give them an update, and then maybe he would investigate some more. At the very least, the Goblins were getting too close to the village for his liking, though they seemed to have delayed somewhat as well. To date, there were no Goblins that got close other then the ones that set up the traps, and even they could be called an abnormality. It was like they were waiting for someone or something.

The mana concentration in the air was high, but it was as if they were waiting for a signal.

Eric did not find this to be a good thing, but it also meant the GOblins wouldn't attack until the signal was given which was good. Although he had wiped out a large number, there were plenty, plenty more and they posed a serious threat now.

And as he was running, he sensed three figures in the distance that were approaching rapidly. And they certainly felt intimidating. Furthermore...

A whisp in the air was the last thing he heard...almost, except actually he reflected it back at the attacker when he reacted to it. Meanwhile, on a high cliff and extremely far away, there was a man looking through a specialized musket with a scope, hiding behind a large rock. THe rock was a bit cracked, and had been indented with a bullet.

"Son of a....what the hell! How the fuck did that guy reflect it from so far away?!"

"Ah, I know why".

A woman flew down from the sky and levitated next to him.

"While I was researching the area, I came across a traveling merchant who had come this way before and was headed for the festival, captured him, and then sucked all the knowledge from his brain. Apparently the names of those parents are actually Eric and Lily Porter".

" don't mean those Porters did you?"

She nodded her head, her face expressionless but you could sense some worry from her.

"Shit, and I cant snipe that old man again or I think he will reflect that again. I guess, I will just snipe anyone else who is annoying right in the head".

"Are you sure you did not fire too soon?"

"Because of my threat, he will be moving slower. He will encounter those Goblins in the way as well, and there is also the Goblin army he needs to deal with. All of these factors will make it impossible to stop us".

"No, it looks like he already intercepted two of those three, but the third ran off ahead to complete the mission".

She said all this as she took out a violin with one hand, while holding a telescope.

The man looked back through the scope and got the man into his sights, as he fired another shot. And just like last time, at the last second the man reacted, and the sniper took cover as the bullet shot by his head.

"Son of a..."

"It just occurred to me. If you were not taking normally impossible shots from all the way back here, you would be dead by now from your own bullets. It appears I need to start playing my Melody of Madness".

"Hey wait, I am right here!"

"Ah, never fear. The Melody of Madness only affects those who do not have a certain level of mana in their bodies. Those parents are probably immune, but unless they put the children through some hellish training, they shouldn't"

(Oh? You mean like what they were doing a moment ago?)

"Yeah. I heard that woman, although she could get serious, was usually kind and smiling the whole time. Maybe Eric did something, but there is no way they have the power too....well, the Dragon might, but I doubt forever..."

(They don't know about her training ethic either it seems...well, its not that public of knowledge).

"Yes, they will go mad and attack each other, among all the villagers, during a Goblin attack. As you can see, even if the Porter's appearance was a complication, we have more then enough factors in place".

(I'll admit your not idiots, way this is working the way you want... xD)

"So how long?"

"Due to distance, my Melody of Madness will take some time before it reaches the ears of the village. Make sure no one gets close to me as I do this".

And so, a woman began to play an ominous song on her violin.

And as this was happening...

"I won't lose!"

"Neither will I!"

Corro and Kyo were currently arm wrestling each other in the middle of a crowd. The two were on their knees across from each other, with a large but sturdy stone in the center that was used as a table. There were the villagers, but Chris was also watching with a stupid look on his face.

DId that brat....forget why we came here in the first place?!?! And hold on, is he losing?!?!?

Kyo, a god, was currently losing an arm wrestling match to Corro, a Black Wolf Animan. However, the villagers who were looking were the inverse.

"That child...hasn't lost to Corro yet?" "How strong is that boy?" "Could he have been trained by an S-Rank adventurer as well?"

The villagers were shocked that Kyo had not lost yet. He was probably one of the top arm wrestlers here, no one else could beat him except his father.

"I...won't...let you!"

Suddenly, their intensity increased as the large rock they were using as began to crack and stress appeared on their faces. Shockwaves developed as the mana of the two collided as well, as mana from two different people did not work well together without compatibility training, blood relatives (especially twins), and some rare exceptions.

So right now, there were multiple shockwaves and a huge wave of pressure being exerted as the two gave it their all to end this. The two put their full force into it but....

Corro ended up slamming Kyo's hand to the remains of the large rock, and claimed victory once more. The crowd broke into cheers, while Chris still looked dumbfounded. After all, Kyo just lost to a mortal. He was so dumbfounded, his original plan of "no longer waiting and just causing trouble" was put on hold because it was so mind bogglingly dumb.

Of course, Kyo was not a god of martial or physical strength, and his main ability was in Divine Power, Divine Blessings, and Magic. SO him losing was a reasonable outcome that Corro, with all of his training, could accomplish.

That was when Corro heard his sister call out to him. He ended up doing a short dash over, while Kyo got the results of their bet and bought their food as well.

"Bella...Bella Bella Bella...where have I heard that name before..."

"Do you mean the Sanguine Witch?"

Kyo interjected as he heard Corro mention a single name.

"Sanguine Witch?"

"You know, the story about a creature created by Vora, who consumes monsters out in the swamps and prevents them from overflowing into the regions of this area? That it had the power to take multiple forms, and could be easily identified thanks to the color of it's eyes".

"I remember hearing about that, but not all those details".

Kyo knew it because he was actually there when Vora created her, so he was aware of Bella's existence. He remembered it might inhabit the area around here, but didn't think much of it till Corro brought it up.

"Well, whatever it is dad didn't destroy it so it must be okay, right? Anyways, that is the only Bella I know of. Why do you ask, Quail? Did someone new introduce themselves as such?"

"If Bella was here, people would probably be panicking...well, I wouldn't though..."

But maybe I will get lucky, and she will eat Chris if she was! Oh, that would be awesome!

While harboring various negative thoughts about his co-workers, Chris continued to look dumbfounded for awhile until a hand was put on the shoulder behind him.

"Good, you two located the prey. Wait for the attack, and then grab them".

"Hello everyone! As we start up the festival, let us proceed....with the dancing! All who are going to join in, kids especially, please get ready! And let's have some fun!"

Using some sort of Wind Attribute based Magic Tool, the festival had finally entered full Goblins began to approach the village...

Bella glanced back as she sensed something... familiar, her eyes catching Kyo around the dracora girl, Quail, she met earlier, and an Animan child. An increase in goblin activity, unusual sensation of magic, and now a lesser god like Kyo visiting a remote village? It hardly seemed likely that a party could attract this much attention, no matter how famous it was! Part of her felt like questioning the god directly, but was it appropriate?

And then she smelt it, she raised her head, catching a whiff of air, the scent of goblins increasing, they were approaching all around. To top this all off, she could feel an elevated amount of mana in the air, as if a fight had broken loose somewhere. What is so important about this village? she ponders.

"Ma'am, gonna buy something?" the vendor asks, she had been leaning there for a while staring without knowing, her face turning slightly red as she turns to the man, then leans to the side to check the various fried foods that hang off the shelves. The look on her face was almost like that of a child in a candy shop, eyeing the various cooked meat in wonder. She then points to a skewer.

"Ah~! I'll have one of the spiced kebobs," she says, rustling through a bag of coins she found in one of the pockets of the furs, pulling out some coins. The vendor unquestionably takes it and hands her a kebob. As she takes it, and begins munching away, she hears someone yelling.

"Hello everyone! As we start up the festival, let us proceed....with the dancing! All who are going to join in, kids especially, please get ready! And let's have some fun!"

"Danshing!?" She yells, her mouth still full, before swallowing. People nearby snap a surprised look at her outburst. "I love dancing! Oh-oh but who... oh who will be my partner?!"

Casting glances across the village, she catches a glance at a rather well dressed looking Animan who had been by earlier. It was peculiar, he came in famished and weary, but he himself did not seem particularly suspicious. At least he didn't seem to be source of the disturbance, she slips a glance at the man standing near a wagon at the inn.

And then she sensed it, death... her eyes dart around, catching sight of the source... a brown haired woman being escorted by a village and guarded by three robed figures. A necromancer? And those three must be... is she connected to this? she wonders, her eyes narrowing. Many peculiar figures were converging on this village, but obviously, it was no time yet to point fingers. And besides, she still hasn't gotten a dance partner!

"Excuse me, would anyone be willing to dance with me? It isn't quite as fun solo," she says out loud to the growing crowd, cracking a friendly smile. "Perhaps the finely dressed gentleman? You look you'd know a few fancy moves."

"Now that you mention it, her dress did kinda smell of a swamp," Quail says, scratching her head. Then she looks over as Bellatroix is quite apparently making a scene. The expression on Quail's face says it all, as she squints one of her eyes. "Then again, maybe she's just... some crazy lady who likes to dance. Oh yeah!" She turns to Kyo and grins. "Hey, you're new! You gonna join in? It is really fun!"

With her sprint to the village, some of the village guards could spot a woman suddenly sprinting out of the trees. "Halt!" One of the Guards raised his hand to stop the woman. For all he knew that woman was probably some random bandit about to charge into the city to take advantage of the festival...however what surprised him was how suddenly the woman stopped.

Her sprint slowed to an immediate stop just a few inches away from the Guard, now that he had a good look at the woman he easily noted the demonic traits of the woman. With an annoyed sigh the guard spoke. "Business for being here..." He spoke. His obvious dislike of demon evident in his voice. Of course Karolin simply put her finger under her chin as she thought of a reason.

"Why...Why indeed?...Well I happened to hear such a peculiar noise coming from this area and..." Karolin began to speak until her nose caught a smell. It smelled like food...and her ears...They picked up laughter, music and much more. "Oh, is this perhaps a massive gathering of people? It looks like it...It could be something else however...I wonder what this is all about?..." She spoke sidetracked by the events going on.

The guard looked at his partner with a raised eye. "Great...a demon and she's kind of crazy..." The man spoke before turning to face Karolin. "Alright, you can go on through...miss...Don't cause any trouble." The guard warned her, and Karolin simply walked past him drawn to the sights of the village.

It was...very decorated with frilly designs. Lots of people were chatting among eachother, they were eating what appeared to be food, and up ahead she noticed many people moving in place. Of course unknown to her, they were simply dancing to the music. There many things going on. Karolin was darting all around the place.

First stop was a food vendor. The smell of food causing her gut to grumble angrily. She only had tea after all, and she did not keep track of time...when was the last time she ate some food? Or had a nice cup of tea. Her poor tea set...after a few minutes of spacing out, the food vendor snapped his fingers to get the demon woman's attention. "Got a line lady, care for some Barbequed Demon Best leg? Only one silver." The man spoke as he motioned to some tasty looking meat. Barbequed? That was a foreign concept to her, even cooked food was something different.

But Silver...Karolin reached into the sleeve of her arm and after fumbling around for a bit produced a gold coin. Of course, she never really understood the use of currency. Her parents however explained it to her. Shiny coin means you can buy many things. Placing the gold coin on the table and taking a leg, she began to walk off with a stunned food vendor behind her.

Karolin soon took a bite of the meat, it was meat. She was not sure where the Barbequed part came in however, but it would fill her up...hopefully...But her attention soon turned to the people moving in place. She heard the crowd call it 'dancing'...It looked fun, but of course she never had danced before. With a simple shrug Karolin devoured the last of the leg in her hands, bone included, she got with the dancers and began to move her body in place. This was how they did it...right?

(And shall begin...) (The post got even longer because I had to post for every single NPC. I am going to be so happy once the Prelude is over and I don't have to manage this many NPCs at once... >.>)

Eric Porter had been rushing over because he wanted to warn the others, but he had sensed the presence of three people with large amounts of strength coming towards the village as well. Encountering some Goblin Troll Riders, he decided to make the most of it...and using his ridiculous strength, create a large enough impact to send the Goblins and Trolls flying in their directions as projectile weapons. At the same time, he focused mana into his legs via Mana Circulation and kicked off the ground.

Of the three heading towards the village, they looked like normal people. However, one did not even need to pay attention to realize they stood out. Two of them were twins that wielded large swords, and the other had two daggers with an intricate design imprinted on them. He was wearing a hooded cloak, however in a small village they would stand out unlike Chris, Kyo, and Mr. Lyon. That was why three of them had moved in ahead, while these three stayed back, and the other two who focused on long range and support held even further back.

They had been prepared for all sorts of situations, even the situation were for some reason this village had a catapult, they were prepared for that. If for some reason the village had some noble passing through with their elite guards, they were prepared for that. If there was a disease spreading throughout the village that would render them helpless, they were prepared for that.

However, they were not prepared for Goblins and Trolls they had decided to use as weapons against the village to be flung at them at such a ridiculously high speed.

The twin swordsman drew their swords and cut through as the rogue kept moving towards the village, but as they had done that, they had missed something that had approached in a blind spot created by the present corpses, and as they had just swung their weapons they had an opening. Eric took that chance, and swung at them with full force to get rid of them immediately.

At least, that is what should have happened, but the two used their bare arms to block the blow as they pulled away and redied their swords. There were deep wounds in their arms, but inversely, that was it. Their arms had not been cut off or rendered useless, which indicated their strength. As he realized this, Eric readied himself for a hard fight. After all, it was clear to him that these people were a threat, even to him.

However, the rogue did not stop and instead ran towards the village, directly towards where the largest amount of people had congregated. And at the same time, The Goblins started to advance...but then stopped for one minute.

Meanwhile, in that group, dancing had started. Maybe dancing was infectious or something, but even Kyo had joined in which brought Chris near the edge of insanity. Additionally, Kyo had on purposefully delayed the Goblin invasion when the dancing had started, though the only people who might be able to realize that are Bella, Chris, and Mr. Lyon.

Chris knew that the God was not entirely happy with what they were doing, but he had to obey under the bounds of the Contract that was made. But, that didn't stop him from doing stuff like this on occasion. He was just completely screwing around, and his face was making all sorts of childish expressions to match his body. At one point, Kyo even went to go be a dance partner with not only the targets, but also the abnormality that had entered the village as well.

Of course, Kyo knew if Chris reported this maybe he would get in trouble, but in truth Kyo didn't like hurting uninvolved children. Given that they planned to slaughter the village including the children, Kyo had to obey because of the Contract but he didn't like it. Of course, his priority was to capture them alive, which gave him some wiggle room. Had his orders been to kill Corro and Quail, and take their corpses, he couldn't do this much. But they were asked for them to be alive, which gave Kyo some options.

And then, as the dancing began to end...there was shouting that came from all over.

"Goblins! It's...its a large scale Goblin invasion!"

"Quickly, take up arms!"

"Someone get the Porters!"

"Hey, it seems like most of the Goblins are pouring in from the north, not the south! Almost like they got annihilated already!"

"The Porters must already be active!"

As people took up arms, someone had noticed the south side was already wiped out which allowed the villagers to help fight the north. However, around where Morigan was...

"It's...its a Goblin King! Guys, its a Goblin King! And his Goblin Royal Guard!"

As Morigan had just about to get close to the others, the Goblin King and it's royal guard had personally entered the village for the invasion, as if led there by a strange collection of mana. He was known as one of the strongest types of Goblins in the world...

Enemy: Goblin King:
High Strength, High Endurance, Medium Perception, Low Agility, Medium Intelligence, Low Charisma (Note that normal Goblins have no Charisma), Low Wisdom.
Notes: Has good weapons skills, occasionally some magic skills, and possesses the ability to utilize tactics.
Weaknesses: Although stronger then others, still a Goblin. Could be beaten to death, or killed with magic.

Of course, if the battle between a Necromancer and a Goblin King occurred, the chances that some sort of champion or adventurer nearby would notice are high and they might choose to join in.

As all of that chaos ensued, Kyo found himself standing right in front of Bella.

"Yo! Long time no see Bella. You certainly have evolved quite nicely".

Kyo made some casual conversation with Bella, despite clearly being an enemy. He extended one of his arms, and revealed a Mark of Contract. That only ever appeared if a God had made a Contract with a mortal through a physical manifestation of itself on Earth, or through a shrine or alter.

"Its unfortunate, but there is a guy out there with something I need. To think he would make me do this though. Well, I cant break orders, but I can fudge them a little. Given that I don't want to fight kids, and you are the strongest entity here, fighting you should be sufficient for me to not break Contract. After all, you do plan on trying to stop me right? So..."

Suddenly, a thick black aura came out of Kyo as he faced off with Bella. As the surroundings were already in chaos from the Goblin invasion, as well as reports of human attackers as well, everything was going crazy so no one noticed their fight at that moment. His aura was also making it harder to recognize him.

"If I fight you, I can't be held liable if those two escape or if after our fight the others somehow ended up getting beaten so badly it would be a forced retreat!"

He said this as an innocent smile grew upon his face. Kyo was probably the worst opponent for Bella to fight, but inversely Bella had the best chances of forcing Kyo to stay focused on her without breaking his Contract. In other words, Bella could at the very least keep the God busy for awhile...but also, because of the Contract, Kyo had no choice but going all out. Chains shot out of his aura, moving around freely in the air as they both protected him and charged at Bella to attack.

Enemy: The God Kyo
Extremely High Everything, except strength and endurance which are medium.
Notes: Touching his aura or his chains will cause destruction to physical entities.
Weaknesses: Isn't actually evil, and doesn't want to hurt Children. Doesn't work with the others in his group at all, but with his power, he might not need to.

Having stopped dancing, Corro looked back towards Quail as he noticed others had begun fighting. There was also the intense feeling of mana being released at their house...and suddenly, a huge magic array opened up in the sky north of them, and lightning rained down. Furthermore, the lightning only seemed to hit Goblins. It could have only been released by their mother, but Corro couldn't help but notice it felt too simple for her.

Corro began to run over and reunite with Quail, but was interrupted when two people randomly attacked him, and Corro noticed that blood had been splatted and was being spilt anywhere, some heading for Quail. But Corro instinctively sensed danger, and used his magic to raise a large wall of ice between Quail and the blood while also freezing all the blood. He also kicked those two people away, as they were acting like puppets.

"Awww. You sure do catch on quick".

Corro's attention was drawn the moment this was said, and noticed a flask of green liquid was thrown at him. He didn't sense any danger from it, but made the conscious decision to avoid it. He darted around the flask in a quick clean motion as it broke in the middle of the air, which caused Corro's right shirt sleeve and right shorts leg to sizzle. His clothing had the toughness of Wyverns as it was leather made from them. However, had he taken that flash directly, he would currently be standing on the battlefield naked with only a sword in his hands.

Notably, the green liquid had no effect on his skin at all, suggesting it would only dissolve non-living things. This was because their orders were to capture the twins. The plan was to throw the acid at them to remove them of any ability to hide weapons or wear armor, as it was harmless to living things. After that, they would just abduct them. That was the plan.

To be fair, the acid had worked. Parts of his clothes had taken a small bit, but there was no way the damage was near enough to make them fall off, or even to create a hole worth exploiting for an attack. At the same time, that man came walking towards Corro with a feeling of annoyance.

"So, you could even avoid it even though I used mana to mask the presence of the flask itself as well as my attack, and I even went through the bother of calling out to you to create a gap in your consciousness. Just what the hell are you, furball?"

"I just work really hard".

"Tsk. So you wont tell me your secret. No matter, once we capture you I can beat it out of you!".

Suddenly, Chris pulled out a large sword out of nowhere, at a size which seemed preposterous. However, what was even more notable is that it appeared to be made of blood, and that as he drew it drops of blood were scattered everywhere. Corro instinctively dodged, but a few drops fell near where he dodged and...

They exploded right next to Corro, sending him sprawling into the air before making impact on the ground. But Corro immediately got to his feet, and his expression had changed. There was worry, anger, irritation. But there was also a small, cute smile that had appeared as well. That was because Corro was excited, excited to have a strong opponent to fight. After fighting Goblins and his parents for most of the time, this was the first time Corro had a strong, sentient enemy. Corro raised his sword, and his tail wagged cutely and excitedly. And additionally, he and his mana gave off an intense pressure now. It was clear his fighting spirit had only increased from getting blown up.

"Physical Boost!"

Activating his magic, his body became stronger, faster, tougher. He moved at a much faster speed then Chris had anticipated he was able to do, catching him off guard and delivering a hard strike to his abdomen. Corro was actually a bit disappointed when it ended so easily, but he saw Chris standing up like he received minimal damage.

"Damn think you could hit that matter, you are still no match for me".

Corro only got more excited. He hated this man and who he belonged to, but for the first time in his life he had a tough opponent that was not his parents. He wanted to see just how strong he had become.

But Corro had not realized Chris had placed some of the blood on his sword, and got blown up again. To be fair, the blood had hidden inside the grooves of the intricate sword, and kept itself out of Corro's eyesight. Chris was a utilizer of Blood Arts, which is a very rare but very powerful magic technique. Even Corro's parents had only heard about them, and never seen them. He could control and manipulate his blood freely, and use it in magic. Explosions were just one of many techniques he had.

Corro immediately stood up and shook all the blood off of him...but Chris did not give him the chance.

And blew Corro up yet again, while Chris smiled now. That was because he loved to make people suffer and cry, and felt that by making others suffer and cry he would never suffer and cry again. Therefore, he treated Corro in a rather sadistic manner despite the purpose being to bring them in alive. And because of the ice wall Corro had put up to avoid anyone else getting infected by his blood, it was hard to tell what was happening to Corro unless you went all the way around.

"Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom".

But the constant explosions probably did not help, as Chris did not invoke all the blood at once. And then, Chris moved in and hit him with the sword, but Corro somehow managed to block it despite his state. His armor was okay, but its defensive value had definently dropped and he appeared to be in a worn out state. Meanwhile, from the massive blows he managed to sneak in, Chris only had a bruise on his cheek which he felt.

"Hold on...when did you hit me..."

And then suddenly, the force of that blow activated and he was sent sprawling. At the same time, Corro moved around and swung his sword into him, combining the momentum of the two. He had used Time Magic to delay the impact force of the blow, but the bruise still appeared. Although CHris seemed to have great strength, Corro had noticed he seemed light. But he didn't expect him to not notice the bruise at all until the full force kicked in. In truth, Corro was starting to suspect this guy was resistant or outright immune to pain.

Corro began to wonder if this was an opponent he could handle on his own.

Of course, in this time, a man with rogue like skills and abilities appeared holding two daggers. He looked at the state of things, and frowned.

"How the hell are they having this mu..."

The rogue immediately sensed danger, and jumped back towards the stage. Anyone nearby not focused on combat yet could see him, and could probably tell he was an enemy. However, he was an unknown, other then that he was fast, stealthy, and smart. He also seemed to be perceptive.

"I swear, can't you lot just leave villages like this in peace?"

And the one who stood among the heroes, appearing out of nowhere with what appeared to be ninja combat skills, was...the herbalism lady?!

Not only that, but the village chief also showed up holding a cane that had a magic stone implanted in it. And for some reason, he radiated magic power. (This probably doesn't need ot be said, but I will say it anyways. Plot point alert!)

Now, if one were to think abstractly, one might consider it was a little odd for a major powerhouse like Bella, and two of the most powerful adventurers in the world, Eric and Lily Porter, to be in the area of this small village, even if one was in the swamp nearby. Indeed, one would never expect to find adventurers of Eric and Lily's caliber even close to this small village that is peaceful with no threats nearby, and nothing of interest to attack. Even bandits wouldn't set up in this area because of the mountains being too cold, even if the Porters were not here it wouldn't be good because in this closed off area by the mountains it would be hard for them to escape.

Either way, with this all of the enemies were now deployed. Of course, there was also an army of Goblins to deal with, but that did not matter much. Who would the final heroes fight? That is a good question....but first, lets return to where the first fight started.

Mr. Lyon looked at the Dwarf, and then at Lily, before smiling.

"Phase Realm".

Suddenly, the scenery seemed to change and the light also changed, darkening a bit. It appeared that the man had brought everyone into phased reality, a reality created to mimic the one around them. They could do as much destruction as they wanted here without harming anyone or breaking anything in the real world. That might seem like it was advantageous to Lily actually, however Phase Realm had a noticeable effect that could not be ignored. It was obvious the man was more lively now, possessed even greater magical power, and had become much stronger. In other words, in this realm he got a boost.

"Multi-Elemental Storm!"

Lyon once again unleashed a powerful magic, an advanced magic spell that utilized multiple elements. Furthermore, it was a multi-target and not a single target, meaning that projectiles of ice, water, fire, wind, lightning, thunder, earth, crystal, light, darkness, and even a few that would infect the target with an incredibly deadly disease if hit from Death Attribute Magic.

However, Lily countered with her Multi-Task (shorthand) ability, and deflected all the projectiles on herself. She tried to intercept a few for Kardarrek, but because he was further away it was difficult.

"Storm Typhoon!"

A huge typhoon of water shrouded in lightning and wind blades was launched towards him, sent at a speed that would be considered insane. Additionally, lances of darkness and light were also sent at Lyon, while earth spikes shot up from the ground to hit him. In addition, hail the size of school busses were dropped from the sky onto Lyon. However, Lyon projected a barrier that would push outwards and exterminate anything it touched. Although he was pushed to develop this barrier, he wouldn't run out of mana any time soon.

However, inside the Storm Typhoon a different attack came out. Shattered Space, which would shatter the very space in front of someone. It was a high level space attribute magic, and it could destroy many barriers. It was a simple fact that very few people could use this spell in addition to all others.

As a result, he was forced to dodge. However, he had to dodge in the direction of the dwarf, which was likely what Lily had intended. Lyon had multiple barriers and boost magics on his body, so a hit from a dwarf wouldn't break him outright, but any hit the dwarf gave would be significant damage. Lyon had specialty in Anti Magic Barriers, but not Anti Physical Barriers. Although the Dwarf had no hope alone, combined with the one attacking him right now it was a bad fit. Lyon immediately tried to dodge, but it the Dwarf was able to take advantage of it a good hit could be gotten in and weaken the enemy he was in a stronger position overall right now.

However, in all of that he managed to launch a surprise attack from behind and dealt a serious wound to Lily. But in doing this, Lily used a custom made spell to absorb some of the mana from it to regenerate her own. And Lyon knew of only one person who could do that.

"Don't tell me...your name is....Lily Porter?"

" has been a long time since I got injured...but no matter, you wont be escaping here in one piece!"

"What the hell are you doing here?!?!"

Lyon got visibly upset that the one with the title of Master Magus Magister had shown up.

Meanwhile, in the forest, the twin blademasters were putting up a fight. They had gotten several hits on Eric, a testament to their strength and ability, but they were also slowly but surely getting cut up. One had already lost their non-sword hand, but they looked totally fine.

"I can barely see his sword. How is this possible?!"

"Hold on...could it be...The Invisible Blade, Eric Porter?!"

"What?! Why would such a high ranking adventurer be doing in a village that only has Goblins to deal with?!"

Eric just smiled at them as he answered.

And then, back at Corro, he clashed blades with the one known as Chris again, this person who was not a normal human. Although Chris was clearly superior, the fact Corro had given him this much trouble annoyed him.

And so in his annoyance...

"Chain Explosion!"

He detonated all of the remaining blood that was attached to Corro one after another. It would leave Corro in tatters, his bones broken, his clothes ruined, his shoes obliterated, his ability smashed. That was the intention.

Chris saw from the force of the explosions the shoes fly off and away...

And then he got hit with Corro's blade. Corro had aimed for his neck, but Chris had managed to block it. However, Corro's cute smile was more visible then ever now. And Chris realized why.

"Finally...I made you block. So your neck is your weakpoint".

Corro had never attacked the same place twice, and that was the only time where Chris blocked. Chris thought he was desperate or a battle maniac, but just now he realized he was waiting to see how to kill Chris. By cutting off his head, his bran and his heard would be separated. That would stop him. If his brain got destroyed, his blood would regenerate it from the heart. if the heart got destroyed, the brain would sense the issue and make the blood regenerate it. Only by cutting off the head could Chris be killed.

"All of endured all of that...just to learn my weakness?!?! Why?!"

"Isn't it obvious?"

Corro smiled, as he spoke the same words his mother and father spoke.

"This is all for my family".

(Well that took me longer then expected, but...done!)

Easily throwing himself aside shifting his weight from Lyon's first salvo of attacks. Bracing with the shield to withstand the lesser missiles of the attack, however, if it wasn't for Kardarrek's tenacity and physical strength and toughness, and in no small part to the quality of his equipment, the dwarf would be a corpse on the floor.

Kardarrek was full of adrenaline a grin on his lips, A TRUE FIGHT! The dwarf hadn't noticed that one of the ice shards Lyons created had struck his cheek, and now the bastard was forced his way, Kardarrek, shifted his weight and charged forward, his shield raised, however, as he came in close, he'd swing his sword quickly for Lyon's head, however, this was just a feint intended to throw the man's balance off further, bringing in the shield towards the man's knees.

The intent of the strike to slow and 'pin' the magician in a singular place, while also doing damage to the legs, slowing any land-based retreat.

The sigil of protection that was mounted upon his armour glowing brightly, an almost visible spell barrier forming around Kardarrek's body, the shell glistening from time to time, the Spell barrier would hold off any spell but drain the sigil of its contained mana, which was to say since its creation five years, it has been fueled by Kardarrek every day, so a lot of potential mana to go through.

While Kardarrek, the son, was busy with Lyons, Akan Forgeborn, stepped out his forge, in a simple looking chainmail shirt and wielding his own sword, the newly forged and runed blade sheathed on his back, the elderly dwarf, easily wading his way through goblins, grabbing them and tossing them with one hand and cleaving them intwine with the other grumbling. "I came to this town to avoid such fights" the dwarf grumbling away as he busied himself on the small fry.

This thing she was doing, this act of 'dancing' was quite a peculiar thing Karolin was doing. Her body was more smooth than stiff, despite not dancing...or more accurately she had never danced in her life. But she was seemingly enjoying this with the music, her jumbled mind focusing on the changing tunes. Since it was changing she could actually focus on the dancing.

However, the music abruptly stopped as screaming was heard. "Goblins!'s a large scale goblin invasion!" Someone yelled as people either gathered up weapons or began to find immediate shelter. Invasion...Now that word she knew, oh she remembered! It was something pretty good as other demons would say. It was where a big group goes to attack another group. Wethe rit was for fun, for revenge, or just because they could. There were many reasons for invasion back in her world.

Of course seeing the people fleeing something clicked in her brain, it seemed that the people disliked the invasion. Now that would not do, that meant that she was stuck in the middle of an invasion with people who did not want an invasion..."Oh dear...hmmmm...What did dad say about this situation?..." She thought to herself as a faint image popped in her head.

"Karolin! This is very important! So remember! In the event of an Invasion, you must...I know you are about to Space out so focus!...As a fellow human with abnormal traits and you being my great daughter to which I love...Your first act in defending against an invasion to to kill everyone that is attacking!...that is all...I'll just...leave now...Don't do anything crazy..."

Karolin soon nodded at the wise words of her father, that should work. Grabbing her bat in her hands she began to walk North and that's when she noticed it. Lots...and lots...and lots of goblins. Well, her father said kill all the invaders. So she should...She was hungry and thirsty now...Maybe she should have ate more...

Morigan neared the group she saw them dancing and then noticed a look in Alec's eye. She knew he was about to ask her to dance. It was then that the goblins appeared.

Morigan drew her dagger as her undead and her new friend Alec drew thier swords. A wave of goblins charged only to be cut down by blade and spell.

"You're a mage?!" Alec exclaimed

"Obviously..." Morigan replied as she sent a Goblin flying with a well placed shadow ball.

By this time a fair number of goblin corpses lay at Morigan's guards feet. And was clear the Village needed more troops.

"Keep those slimy green bastards off me!" Morigan shouted

Morigan leaned down placing her left hand on the ground. She started to chant as a magic circle appeared underneath her. A purple light flashed from her left hand striking they dead goblins and reanimating them. The undead goblins turned on thier former kin ripping and slashing at the creatures.

Alec looked at Morigan in shock "What are you?" He asked

"Just a girl that wants to help..." Morigan replied

Alec left it at that with a nod turning back to the goblins.

About that time the Goblin King growled with anger "Those are my minions! Get that witch I want her head!"

The Goblin King charged forward towards Morigan drive by a rage. Alec quickly pushed Morigan out of the way taking the Goblin King's charge himself. Morigan picked herself up to see the Goblin King with Alex in his hand. His other hand was formed into a fist. A fist that started to beat up Alec. Morigan stabbed the Goblin King with her dagger. But it didn't do anything but get Morigan kicked, which sent her flying into a building.

The Goblin King in anger threw Alec at Morigan. He landed beside her out cold. Morigan slowly got to her feet only to take a punch from the Goblin King. All the wind was knocked out of her and she knew some of her bones where broken.

The Goblin King moved in for the kill. Morigan awaited her death but it didn't come....

A group of Morigan's undead goblins jumped on the Goblin King causing him to flail around trying to get them off.

Morigan managed to grab a fleeing goblin as it ran past. With what little strength she had left she pinned the goblin. She places her left hand on the goblin and began to drain his life. Morigan's injuries started to heal themselves as life was sucked out of the goblin.

Kodan was about to lower another piece of meat into his mouth when he heard what he thought was someone addressing him. Looking over he saw Belltroix trying to get his attention, no... She was asking him to dance! What a strange place he had wandered into, he thought to himself as he dropped the piece of meat from between his fingers. He shook his head in a "no" fashion as he looked around, smiling nervously, not wanting to be the center of attention given his recent flight from captivity. He backed away, and tried to blend into the crowd, as nearly impossible as that was going to be.

Kodan was still paranoid, even if he had no reason to be this far away from his old life. Either way, the very last thing he needed was to be "dancing". He had never done so in his life and didn't see the point of such an activity, simply flailing your limbs about to a rhythm. Of course the only rhythm he was ever in time to was a work drum.

Telekhus Kastor was just at the edge of the forest when he felt the feeling of joy disappear. The sounds of music and partying were gone, and in place were terrified screams and goblin-like war cries. If somebody else was in Telekhus’ boots, then they may have rushed toward or away from the sounds. A hero definitely would try to help, and a normal peasant would run away. Telekhus was neither. He kept his leisurely pace, taking in the sites of his mother’s home town. The only thing he was slightly worried of was if his grandparents were alive. His thoughts changed when he truly, and wholly consciously felt the Ancient magic in his body. With a thought, the sellsword tried to focus the magic into his right fist. The tattoos on his hand flashed a bright, white light, before settling into a strong glow. He wondered if he could release the magic, somehow, into some kind of attack. He pulled his fist back, and punched forward. Nothing happened. He did this a few more times, before saying, “So, definitely can’t use it like real magicians can use their mana. I should have expected that. Stil though…” Telekhus felt more powerful than he had ever felt before.

Taking his mind away from the power trip, Telekhus finally noticed how the world around him changed. There was something wrong with the buildings, the sky, the people he could see in the distance. Normal sounds were distorted, and everything was darker. Something was wrong. Something was allowing him to control the magic inside him. Wondering if focusing the Ancient magic to his eyes would allow him to see things differently, he shifted the magic from his hand to his head. His eyes started burning, and he could not see anything. The sellsword let go of his hold on the Ancient magic, and his vision slowly returned to him. His eyes still felt like they were on fire, but at least he could see.

Even through these failed attempts at trying something new, Telekhus still felt powerful. He knew, now, that how he was, was nothing good. He was unfocused, uncoordinated, weak in a word. How could he call himself unbeatable when there was so much more he could do? The Ancient magic in his body only came to force when he was in battle, or when damage inflicted could incapacitate him. If he could control it, though, then he would be an unstoppable force, or an immovable object. Telekhus needed to find whoever allowed him to become like this, and even if he didn’t, he would have a new goal.

Nodding, the sellsword continued walking towards the village. If he found the person, or entity, who created whatever thing that was around the village, he would be happy. He was already giddy, the grin on his face saying it all. Telekhus’ eyes were glowing softly with the power inside him, even though his tattoos weren’t.

He finally reached where most of the high-level fighting was situated. Spells were being flung, explosions going off, and swords were clashing. The battle was beautiful. Considering how he wasn’t there to fight, but to look, Telekhus didn’t mind just observing. “Hey!” the sellsword yelled. Obiously, no one heard him. Thinking of another great idea, Telekhus started allowing magic to focus around his throat. He yelled again. Still nothing, except his normal yelling voice. Huh. The Ancient magic amplified his speed and strength, but not anything else. Very specific. At least he was learning.

So if no one would be able to hear him, then could they at least see him? Telekhus started making the magic inside him flow through his whole body, and the tattoos on his head, his face, his hands started to glow. While it was bright, he thought it wasn’t enough. Telekhus started to remove his leather armour, before side stepping a piece of flung debris. When the leather armour was removed, he slid his cotton tunic over his head. Waves and waves of glowing white light were plastered over his body. Telekhus started pulsating the magic in his body, and the tattoos starting flashing bright white. He yelled once more, “Hey!”

Then a goblin rushed toward him, appearing almost out of nowhere. Telekhus, surprised from the sudden attack, focused most of the Ancient magic into his left hand and swung at the little beast. It was an open palm attack. His hand hit the goblin’s face, and the monster’s head disappeared in a mist of blood and bone. The headless body’s forward momentum carried it to Telekhus’ feet. The sellsword was amazed. So amazed at what he did, that he started laughing maniacally. Telekhus stood there, laughing, staring at his hand. “What in the hells?”

As Kodan attempted to disappear into the crowd, all of the sudden the crowd began to disappear around him. Looks like the Goblins had caught up with him. Oh Gods, hopefully he didn't lead the whole pack here inadvertently... He began to run as well, putting a new tear in the shoulder of his Jacket as his flight instinct kicked in.

But something deep within him caused his feet to stop. He didn't come all this way after all this time to be a subservient coward anymore. In a way, his whole life was leading up to this moment. Will he run, or finally stand up? As people continued to run past him, Kodan turned back. Walking against the fleeing crowd he finally pushed through, clenching his fists and looking for something green to pummel. Decades of pent up rage began to boil his blood as he charged towards a group of inter-tangled individuals.

The smell of death quickly filled his nostrils as he threw one of the undead off of the goblin king, knocking him to the floor with his forward momentum. His fist raised in the air as he could no longer contain the breath in his lungs. Letting fourth a battle-cry that surprised even him in its ferocity, ears pinned back against his skull and all signs of humanity disappeared from his eyes. Kodan's Peripheral vision disappeared. The entire world was him and the grotesque monstrosity beneath him.

He wailed on the kings head and upper torso, the pounding in his knuckles feeling better with each visceral punch. Baring his teeth and growling ferociously all the frustrations and anger that he had ever felt surged through him, all the way from his chest from his fingertips to his toes. Still suffering from tunnel vision, only one goal in mind, the onslaught continued. There was no doubt, however, from the limpness of the Goblins arms and legs that he was out cold.

Kodan finally stopped after what seemed like several minutes. His breathing was heavy. At this point he was straddled over the almost lifeless form with face caved in, teeth missing and bleeding profusely. One eye swollen shut, the other stared directly foreward. A soft gurgling sound came from his mouth. The kings chest rose and shallowly fell in rhythm with the sound. Kodan looked at his hands, and noticed the mixture of green and red blood on them. His knuckles had been cut as well, some of his blows landing on the street in his blind rage. His suit, his only suit, had been completely soiled by spatters of green. For no reason, or at least not a good one, this brought back the rage inside of him.

"Do you..." He brought down his fist on what was left of the kings nose.

"Know how hard it is..." He drove his fist downward again.

"To clean Orvenian Silk!?" He bellowed at the top of his lungs. With one more blow to the almost unidentifiable mush that once held higher thought, a sickening squelch filled the air. With that, he was done.

He stood up, panting heavily, regaining his composure. Even spattered in blood and busted knuckles aside, he still dusted himself off, and re adjusted his shirt collar. You had to at least try to look good. Class is what separates us from the animals, after all. His face began to return to the same stoic expression that usually rested upon it as his breathing returned to normal. Taking a deep breath, his eyes began to calmly scan back and fourth as he once again became aware of his surroundings, chin slightly in the air.

  1. Kyo parts by LookingAtPerks

    by MartinVole

Bellatroix looked genuinely shocked, the village around her consumed in chaos. She expected the latter, sensed it coming, but Kyo was connected on this? Held on a contract? Who would hold something so important to get him to willingly enter this? She's reminded why she's buried the means to bind her ages ago. Readying herself, her purple eye now engulfed in a glowing haze, she looks at Kyo, not with anger, but concern.

"Kids? What is this about kids?" she asks, glancing around the field. She then shifts her eyes about before coming to the most logical conclusion. "You... don't mean the Animan boy and the dracora girl you were around, do you?"

"Of course. Well, maybe its an of course for those people, I suppose this is not something people should normally think about or do. Honestly speaking, I am only here because if we gods don't honor our Contracts, it would be bad you know?" he responds.

"But... why!?" she responds, holding up her hands, her voice waving between anger and confusion. This whole thing was ridiculous if it was all just over two children. So this explains the mana signatures all over the place! It still didn't make sense to her, her mind was thrown through cartwheels as it tries to come to any conceivable reason why these two were worth such mayhem. Even if she did seek to take them, she would try to do so with the least amount of drama. "This is a lot for just two children." She sighs, running her hand through her hair and muttering something to herself, her tail, long and slick, clicking and poppping as it extends out from her back, her skin changing color, her face whitening, her skin greying as a thin layer of gray fur forms on her body, her hair extends down the back of her neck, her teeth extending, her ears becoming longer, pointed, and black, her hands and toes extending, as well as her nails becoming long and sharp. Her bones inside her body shift, cracking as her body elongates into a more bestial form. "To be honest, if this were young me, I'd have less reservation. But I suppose... I've grown sensitive in my age."

"Not even we know what that guy is thinking, he just told us to bring rare, cute specimens for him to play with. That is what he told us. Well, ordered us to do," Kyo responds in a bitter tone. "He is one of those... it just really sucks he has something important to me."

"Ugh... I guess it can't be helped, then, doesn't help that this is the circumstances of our reunion," she responds, shaking her head. "Well, here goes, then, hopefully they escape in the meantime." With that she lunges at Kyo, spinning around and swinging her tail. Despite Kyo's godhood, the barbs of her tail remained retracted, only serving as blunt impact.

"Indeed. But who knows how this will end. As I fulfill my obligation..." suddenly, his aura emerges even more and spreads out, as even more chains which would disintegrate all that touched it at the molecular level came into defensive and offensive positions. "...I feel as I should warn you no matter how this ends, it won't be pretty. So if in the best case scenario, where this mission helps my Contract while they escape, make sure to take care of them. Because with my divine eyes, I saw it: they are Children of Fate."

"Children of Fate," she mutters, as she digs her feet hard into the earth below her to avoid the chains, then twists her body, and throws her arms out, lunging to the side to dodge more that came her way. She takes to all fours like a wild animal, moving rapidly as she continues her approach, purple miasma emitting off of her, coating her as she maneuvers, getting in closer. "I... I don't need that, I've never needed an excuse! But tell me..." she begins, as she circulates power into her right arm, morphing it into a more powerful and monstrous form, far less reminiscent of a human's, and swings it in the direction of Kyo. From the swing, she releases a close range burst of pressure his way. "...have I become a topic of shame? Have I also been fated? As an outcast? Is that why I've remained to my own for years?"

Kyo knew it was going to be the toughest fight he had in awhile, but he also knew Bella was a bad matchup against him for her and his abilities were superior. That said, given that she could be unpredictable, even with his guard up, some of the things she did impressed or shocked him a little. But his main ability, which were the chains he wielded, and his aura, that allowed him the ability to take control of mass or break things down ot the atomic level, was one that was both a powerful offense and defense. His aura dissolved her own, and also started to eat away at her when she swung. But the burst of energy had been a new surprise for him, and caused him to re-organize his defense. "You learned some new tricks. As for shame and fate, honestly speaking, although I can see clear merit and meaning in your existence, even I don't know the full reasons Vora made you..." Kyo had been a subordinate god under Vora, who had mastered the art of materialization into the mortal plane. Although the Gods were significantly less powerful here, they could still be called powerhouses that only the best of the best could fight. "...but you know, Vora was never really one who liked set destinies. So if I had to guess what he would say, he would say something like 'Bella you idiot! Stop wasting time mumbling to yourself in a swamp and go explore the world and have fun and save people! And help those children while you are at it', or something like that. Well, he was never big on formal speech."

As chaos ensued around her at the center of the village, the goblins invading, magical warfare occurring, undead warriors and goblins assisting in defense. Wait, undead, wait when did anyone here have those..? Well, as long as they are helping. Then she casts a glare at the stage, a man standing there, ready to attack. Who is that? Obviously trouble.

"Damn it all, where is that whelp? Them idiots best not be cuttin' me out by takin' all the glory," he mumbles as something thumps down beside him, causing him to quickly turn. He turns his head to see Quail, who, on all fours had assumed her dragon form. Her wings were fused to her arms, similar to a bat. Her scales are smooth rather than rough and hard, giving it excellent flexibility and aerodynamics. The rogue immediately deduced her as a target, and paced about her, flipping out daggers from his sleeves with a flip of the wrist, light gleaming off them.

"Honestly, I couldn't care less bout ya, whelp, but I got mouths t'feed. Mine," he says, his voice coarse. He was an honest rogue, as much as it mattered, it just meant that he was honestly dishonest. Quail gave him a strange look as she paced around him.

"You have more than one mouth..?" she responds, tilting her head with a baffled look. The rogue simply stares back, unamused.

"Shut up." He then lunges at Quail, sweeping a kick across the stage in a swift motion, equally so, Quail jumps up and spins in the air over his leg, landing beside him. He quickly shifts around and swings a knife at her, a motion with just enough finesse that if it struck wouldn't hit a vital spot. His goal, as with the others, was to take her alive, as intact as possible, didn't mean she had to be in perfect condition. He manages, however, only to nick her cheek, as she swiftly slipped under his strike, and under him, rolling over on her back, before focusing her mana through her mouth, and blasting the rogue off the ground with a loud burst of air, and in turn, knocking the wind out of him with a loud grunt.

With his agility, he reorients himself in the air, however he would soon find, as a figure flew up towards him, that he was in Quail's domain for the time being. With a defensive hold, he crosses his arms, as Quail zipped through the air above him, diving down headfirst into the top of his skull, sending him hurdling quickly down below, losing his footing and slamming down on his back. He held his head and yelled, two red marks on each side of his forehead bled from the impact of the horns. As she descended down for another strike, she found herself kicked in her side, sending her onto all four again, holding her ribs. The man struggled back to his feet, breathing heavily, he knew... he was going to need to work out a bonus for this.

Within only a moment, the rogue quickly zipped around, aiming another strike with his knives, Quail quickly twisting her head around to block with her horns, staring directly up at the rogue, as he grits his teeth as he applies pressure, but jumps back, realizing he was just leaving himself open, watching as she waves her tail.

"Not bad for a dragon twerp, but that cut gonna cost ya," he says, holding out his arms. Quail's vision blurs slightly, the world around her starting to rock like a ship on the sea, her equilibrium off as she starts to sway. It wasn't a lethal poison, but rather a potent kind of hallucinogen made from unripened berries and leaves. "Now just nod off like a good little kid, and the bad will go away! Well, er, at least the poison will wear off, that is." However, Quail lets out a sickly yell, charging forwards at him, him rolling his eyes as he kicks some dirt in her face. What came next, however, was not expected, as she lets out a burst of air blowing back the dust in his face, causing him to buckle over and yell as he tries to clean his eyes. He feels, however, her horns as she hurls herself into him, sending him, and her, hurdling off the stage, and him landing on his back, banging his head on the stony street. He'd find himself struck with a flurry of blows across his face as small dragon fists connect against each side of his face, the strength of the blows coming to his shock. Were dragons, even this small, strong like this, even in a weakened state? Soon, though, she'd be too woozy to continue, and dizzily rolls over and begins to crawl away in crooked angles. The rogue, however, face bloodied, would not be rising back to his feet, having been knocked cold by Quail's desperate struggle.

"A-and, never... call me... twerp, or whelp, ever... a-again," she says drowsily, looking desperately through her hazed vision and the chaos, looking for her parents or Corro. She didn't even have enough focus or strength to shift back at this point as the narcotic takes hold. "Wh-where is everybody..!?"

(Time to finish off...I mean conclude, NPCs!) (This will, without a doubt, be the last one. Actually, I thought this would be shorter, but I forgot I had to add a part or else the flow would be weird. Anyways, after this my posts SHOULD be entering normaler length, but I wont spoil anything so you gotta read it all. That said, this should all be fine now!)

Corro had one goal in mind. Finish off the man and find his family. He knew, if he could just regroup with them, everything would be over for these guys. At least, that was Corro's belief. But this guy Chris, although he acted like an idiot, he was smart in terms of battle. He managed to make a few comments to piss Corro off, but so far he never left himself with an opening while doing so. In laymans terms, he was one of those idiotic smart people that you always hate.

Corro knew a technique to deal with him, but not only did he not have the right equipment for it, he couldn't run and get it, or make something with ice magic in his condition. His clothes, which were more like armor thanks to the material, had held up considering he was receiving constant explosions or sword strikes, but even now it was about to fall off with a few more blows and then he would be naked except for his sword, against a guy who uses Blood Arts.

The moment Corro realized he used blood, had been the moment he realized he could not show that kind of opening. He made absolutely sure the blood never got on his skin, even if it meant getting hit with more blood over all. Because if it hit his skin, it was game over. The only thing in good condition right now were the shoes he threw as a diversion, and his sword which was much harder then steel.

If he had a second sword, even if it was iron, Corro could do something more. He found the weakspot for this guy, but now he had it covered and would not let Corro near it.

Corro couldn't even focus his mana to use his magic, because there was blood on him set to blow him up if he did. Chris had never mentioned it, but Corro could feel it. His instincts told him if he used magic now, he would get hurt. But thankfully, mana circulation techniques was not magic. As such, he had one idea that might work, but he was afraid these guys were high enough level that if he used it in front of them, they would know how to deal with it immediately. However, right now it felt like it was the only chance he had.

He immediately charged at Chris, who launched several blood spikes as he swung down with his sword. Corro lept into the air to avoid it, but that made him unable to dodge and Chris took a free shot at this foolish action.

Or at least, that was what he thought. However, Corro seemed to kick off the air itself and dodged it, getting behind Chris and giving a good swing. Yet as he hit Chris, it seemed like the attack that was meant to decapitate him was partially blocked, and there was a followup blow with an explosion that knocked Corro into a nearby tree. His armor was almost at the limit, and even Corro could not negate the injury enough to feel a bit impeded. Only the sword was flawless.

What the hell is that thing made of?

While Chris had a momentary thought about that, he had absolutely no idea how Corro kicked off the air without using magic. He figured it was a mana circulation technique, but he had no idea what it was or how it was utilized. In truth, it was an original technique developed by Corro's father, known as Air Step. It utilized exerting a mass of mana out of your feet, while focusing on mana circulation for your feet, so that you could have the two mana clumps impact each other as if they were physical entities and "kick" yourself around freely in the air.

Seeing as how Corro had managed to learn this technique in a year, he was frustrated by how long it took even when he had the creators instructions, though admittedly he was not the best at explaining things. However, given that he started trying to learn when he was five, and finally mastered it when he was six, many people praised him as a genius, even though he had spent every single day of that year trying to learn it. It is not as impressive to him, but everyone else still thought it was.

However, that Corro was now just barely getting up, as he had been heavily injured, preparing for round two.

Meanwhile, backing up a little, Lily was still in a huge magic duel with the enemy, with only a dwarf ally on her side while the enemy was alone. Although she was worried someone might enter the realm on his side and join him, and they couldn't possibly hope he would allow anyone on their side in, she believed in her strength and her family as she took out another staff from her Item Bag. The Item Bag was an interdimensional storage device used to store a large amount of objects in a small space. It had the interior size of a large mansion, including a garage, and could fit everything an adventurer might need inside.

So far, the battle had gone decently well with help from her Dwarf friend. Because he managed to hit him in the right spot, it made it harder for him to move, so he had begun to utilize flying magic to maintain mobility. It meant less attack attempts from Rek in the past few clashes, but it meant he was using more mana in this battle and couldn't land without fighting Rek as well. Needless to say, although maybe Rek was not anywhere near a threat as Lily, because of a Dwarf's toughness and his sheer existence, it had caused the battle to by unfavorable for Lyon.

And then, IT appeared.

"Chaos Realm!"

Lily raised her staff, and utilized Chaos Realm with overloaded mana to turn him to dust. All sorts of attacks, pressure waves, every attribute of attack was thrown at him.

"Damnit! To think someone like me, with the ultra rare affinity for eight attributes..."

"Is nothing compared to me, who has affinity for almost all of them".

Lily was an existence that broke common sense, as she had attributes for nearly all the attributes. The only three she did not possess was Holy, Creation, and Spirit. But in reverse, the fact she had an affinity for all the other Attributes, excluding Eldritch which no one has, was incredible. As a result, she was known as an unreasonable existence.

Lily, who was applying an attack like that was this man's opponent. Lily herself was careful, noticing disruptions in the barrier isolating this realm, making sure to anticipate any enemies that entered. If an enemy tried to approach, it would be detected immediately as the man was being dealt significant damage. An enemy, that is.

Maybe one with sensitive hearing might have heard something like a small cannon go off in the distance, but by the time they heard it the damage had already been done. Although there had not been a shot for a certain sniper to take a headshot, thanks to a tree, he had shot Lily in the heart.

Even unreasonable existences could be killed.

Lily was forced to release her spell, but the man had taken so much damage that his own spell ended as well. And because of his current damage, and the mana he used, if he stayed in that spot he would die to the dwarf. He immediately began to use magic to run away, but if the Dwarf wanted to chase after him and deal him more attacks the man was not moving fast enough yet to escape him. The man did have magic remaining for combat, but he was saving that in case he ran into some Goblins.

Lily meanwhile was gasping for air. The epic magic battle that had occurred was ended because of one rifleman at a distance much further away then most people could ever fire from had shot a bullet.

Actually, if one was to rewind time a bit, they would notice Lily had put up six magic barriers automatically sensing danger, but the bullet had been given the penetration power to break through them instantly so it went unnoticed. Again, unreasonable existence. And this person trained Corro and Quail in magic.

And now, she was about to die. But even in this, she smiled as she used her magic to communicate with Rek.

"Hey, do me a favor okay? If those idiotic children of mine don't go to become adventurers, and live happy lives of fun and excitement for our sakes, beat them up and make sure they do just that okay?"

At the same time, all the objects in her house were sucked up by magic into her Item Bag, which would be sent towards Corro. Corro was not favored over Quail, but as any life threatening situation would likely have Quail in her Dragon Form, Corro would be the only one who could use the Item Bag in a crisis.

"After all, I always knew this would happen...that they were likely Children of Fate...which is why...I made Last Gift..."

And then, two bursts of energy shot out of her.

Meanwhile, Eric was not in the best state himself. Although he had been trampling these two, somehow when he was not looking one of the twins regrew his limb somehow. Furthermore, he was bleeding out from many scratches he couldn't close up using mana circulation. In other words, in a battle of attrition he would lose.

But what made it worse was something he sensed coming. Something eerie, and bad, as if it had to be stopped. But he had yet to figure out their secret. No matter. He wanted to conserve more strength, but Eric had no choice. He would use it all here, defeat these two and stop whatever magic was heading towards the village, and then rest to recover his energy and mana before rushing back. After all, he was useless dead.

Eric, who usually liked to have fun, all out, lengthy battles was not a fan of this technique, but he used it for emergency situations despite it not fitting him. He temporarily moved too fast to comprehend, and cut the two twins in half before cutting the halves into quarters, their organs and blood spilling out. It was a devastating scene, but Eric could not wait any longer and unleashed a powerful Manawave Slash. It involved swinging the sword down, but it cost a huge amount of mana. Had he not been forced to hunt down those Goblins, or fight the twin swordsman, it would have been fine but...

"Die, you damn monster! For doing that to my brothers!"

Eric had destroyed the musical magic that would have enslaved the town, but there had been one person hiding in the shadows this whole time.

"So...they were triplets....huh, that is clever..."

If Eric had preserved some of his mana, he could have dodged the fatal blow. But because he used all his power to stop the attack, he had been left wide open. To be fair, he had no idea since they never used it in front of him, but the brothers had strong healing magic on each other, and a very powerful ability to conceal their presence. Because the two that appeared were always flashy, it distracted one from looking for that person, and they would switch out to take turns resting as they used their identical looks and extremely good sword skill to defend themselves.

And so both husband and wife died that day. In battles, they were unmatched. But like everyone else, there was always a potential vulnerability, an opening, to exploit. They were not careless, or stupid. They did not make anything one would call a mistake. They did their very best, and beat unreasonably strong people. Of course, they were even more unreasonable, but still. Sometimes, it was not always an epic battle or a final move that got you killed, but from something else.

But as Eirc died, he just smiled and said one thing.

"Good luck...son, daughter..."

And two beams of energy shot out of him as he died.

And now, inside the Magus Codex of all four of them, it temporarily became a singular Magus Codex thanks to the Spell "Last Gift".

"Registered: Lily Porter is deceased".

"Registered: Eric Porter is deceased".

"Both Mother and Father are deceased. Activating emergency spell, 'Last Gift'"

"This message will playback for Corro and Lily Porter immediately inside the Temporary Central Magus Codex Domain established by Lily Porter".

In the outside world, as Corro and Lily were hit by two shots of magical energy each, they would get pulled into this new Magus Codex for some period of time. But in the outside world, only a single second would pass after being hit by that energy.

In this, the two of them stood, but also their parents stood. Additionally, it was their current forms. Corro could see that Quail was sick from something, and Quail could see Corro had been beaten to a pulp and his clothes barely were hanging on, which given the material they were made from, should be quite difficult. However, their parents stood their as spectral entities.

They immediately came and embraced the both of them, all of them, together as a family.

"If you are here, this means we died. I am so sorry for leaving you like that, but I guarantee we fought to the end to keep whatever came away from you".

"The truth is, we suspected for some time, given when we found both of you and what happened to who we found you with, and where you were from, that something was special about you. That you might even be...Children of Fate..."

(See the upcoming updates for the Gods Thread to learn more about Children of Fate)

As Corro knew what that meant, he also knew this was no joke. Some might say Children of Fate are blessed, but others say they are cursed. It was that kind of thing. That they had infinite potential, but infinite trouble. Children who would make an impact on the world before becoming adults even.

"So, Corro, Quail!" "Sweeties, please listen". "This is a combined order from your parents".

And then, in the middle of this touching moment, they spoke in unison that at any other time might be comedic. One would question their sanity here, but their next lines removed any doubts of them having no taste.

"Support not just yourselves, but each other! Do not sulk, or go for revenge, or get depressed and shut yourselves away! Become grand adventurers, heroes of legends, be the greatest adventurers you can be. But above all, do not lose your precious smiles and laughter! Do not let each other lose their smiles and laughter! Push forward, not just for us or for you, but for each other!"

Although they said all this, Corro was still crying in this place. But between tears, he pulled himself together...and his eyes began to glow red.

"Yes, I ensure our laughter and smiles!"

And so, time resumed once more for them as they returned to the real world. However, there was something that they also learned from the Codex. The truth about the spell Last Gift, that it was a Boost Spell that took advantage of the potential of Children of Fate. Lily had been a great genius Magician, and found a way to exploit that power to a degree in her spell unlike anyone before, however there were negatives. For one thing, it was not efficient, or could be used again, and so on. That was one of the reasons she had never used the method of strengthening by Last Gift. Of course, there were other reasons, such as it being the most effective as the one who gave the strength was dying or had just died, but there were others like that as well. There was also one reason that would particularly upset Corro and Quail.

That was because, in addition to the temporary boost, there would also be a permanent boost. Although the outer appearance of their bodies would not change in the slightest, there would be great changes to their insides. Their natural strength, speed, and abilities would be boosted. Even their mana would be boosted and enriched, becoming stronger. So it would seem like there were nothing but benefits. Yet, there was a minor detail most would not mind, but Corro and Quail would hate.

However, this sudden boost would take nuitrients to keep up. There would not be any noticeable change immediately, but…it would actually slow their growth. Possibly in a drastic way. Given that Corro and Quail were small, and wanted to get big, this could be said to have been a horrible outcome for them. Especially since each belonged to Vora’s races, and already aged slower as Vora didn’t want them to just have long adult lifespans, but long childhoods as well to compensate. And Corro was small and slow on appearance growth even for Animan standards.

In other words, they would remain small for longer than normal and take even longer to hit their growth spirts. A snail could cover ten miles on its own, and they would almost certainly not even grow half an inch. But, because as they received this boost right as their parents had died, it worked in tandem with them being Children of Fate. Their parents dying as their village was invaded by criminals and Goblins was the tragedy, or just simply their parents dying while they were still young could be called the tragedy alone. And then, the boost would affect them. Although it was only theoretical and could not be guaranteed, it was possible as they could not fully utilize their high potential that it would provide the biggest gain.

Chris didn’t know all this, but he could tell something was wrong when two bolts of energy came out of nowhere and shot into Corro, and another two seemed to go nearby, which Chris figured was Corro’s sister Quail. He readied his weapon, as he used a special magic that had been cast on all of them from the start to understand the situation.

“Hey? What happened?”

“We managed to kill the parents, but some weird spell activated when we did. Be careful, it looks like the situation might change”.
Hearing this, Chris focused down on the boy in front of him who seemed to have gotten aggravated, but seemed to have been temporarily shocked. Chris had finally managed to wear down the ridiculous armor he had been wearing, so in order to toy with him, instead of attacking his limbs Chris shot spikes of hardened, liquid blood at critical points, causing his clothes which were made of tough material to finally fall apart. This was apparently enough shock to bring Corro back to his senses, and get him embarrassed. Being naked of their own free will was seen as acceptable and normal, but being naked because of someone else excluding family and friends to some level was seem as embarrassing as it meant their free will had been taken away. Free will was the border between embarrassment and what was considered normal and acceptable.

Additionally, it was considered embarrassing for warriors to be attacked or fought in those states because it was seen as them having let their guard down around an enemy, even if the situation couldn’t have been helped.

“Look at that, finally naked like an animal should be. I swear, that fucking armor was tough. But without it, you only have your skin. Your parents are dead. Are you really going to fight me like that? But…after all the trouble you brought us, I think we need some repayment. I am sure several of our members wouldn’t mind using you, but I bet your sister will be very popular among the guys. So cute and innocen…”

Chris had started talking, antagonizing him, because he figured that throwing the kid off his game would make things easier for him. Although his weapon had been unaffected by all the attacks, it was currently the only thing he had, so in this state having been forced into this condition, Chris decided to make sure he was thrown off. His clothes were in pieces on the ground, and his bag was lying next to him. But it was right when he noticed the bag had not been on Corro, nor was it there before, did a strong aura flood out and overwhelm Chris, cutting his words off.

Almost instantly, Corro had moved in front of Chris with extreme speed that surpassed earlier, and brought his sword down towards Chris’ neck. Chris was able to block in time, but Corro moved behind him before Chris counter attack by intentionally placing blood on him, or even for the blood from Chris’ wound to spray out and hit him naturally. Chris moved to block the next strike, but it ended up taking off a leg and an arm instead. Chris used the blood to re-attach while shooting out hardened spikes to stab Corro repeatedly, but Corro was already further away.

Chris was still regenerating and couldn’t chase after, but instead Corro touched the small pouch and a strange interface made of magic light appeared. He took out a spare change of clothes, a T shirt, an overshirt with a hood, some shorts, and a pair of long pants. He quickly put on the lighter clothing first, and then the heavier clothing. It seemed weird given his berserk pace before, but after he finished getting dressed, the only thing he did not replace being his shoes and socks, he stared back at Chris. And that was when he saw Corro’s eyes. They had begun glowing bright red, and held an ominous feeling. Because Corro disabled him and then took the time to get dressed, he thought Corro had maintained a calm mind. But looking into those eyes, he understood. The boy from before was looking down on him, with hatred but also with a bit of despising.

“I can let go of a lot of things. Thanks to my parents, who raised us properly, I can take quite a bit, and even if I get angry I can maintain some level of rational thought and reason higher then most. However…there is no fucking way I am letting you live after saying you would do that to Quail”.

With a heavy voice as his eyes glowed bright red, Corro spoke to him with a voice mixed of coldness and rage. But even then, despite all that, that cute smile he always had on his face was still there. It gave Chris an uneasy feeling. Although Chris had suspicions from how he behaved, it was true that the clothing Corro put on was also Armor Grade. But it was not armor meant for training. It was meant for worst case scenario combat, and also winter when it got cold. If Corro wore this armor for too long in the warmth of summer, he might die from other reasons.

He also used this time to instill a level of fear from his own aura of rage and bloodlust.

“So, I will make sure your death is put to use!”

(So, although I hoped it would be shorter by about 1k words or so, its done! And no more NPCs other then the enemy! That is right people! Anyways, my next post will be concluding combat and feature the escape, so that we can start the actual adventure! Because we are still in the prelude! Anyways, lets do this people! ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!)

There was quite the amount of goblins, they seemed to be rather small weak creatures. The few guards in the north were doing well...well was doing well. From what Karolin could see the few guards holding back the tiny green tide were overwhelmed not by raw strength but by sheer numbers and speed.

They swarmed the guards and began to hack away with their weapons, daggers, small axes...they simply beat the men to the pulp. Oh wow...This was almost like back home, granted the people being stabbed to a pulp usually get back up to dust themselves but they were humans without the additional traits.

She wondered why many of her kind called her a demon...Even her parents agree with her. They were but humans with just additional traits. But they were of course also not humans as well. Her thoughts soon returned to her as a few scared people ran by her bumping into her in the process leaving only her and the horde of goblins ahead.

She could hear them from where she was, they were all creaming at each other in some...semblance of language. Of course unknown to her they were but the more weaker, more dumber goblins. But for now that did not matter. While they were busy searching the dead guardsman the goblins...or rather one of them looked up and noticed her.

Of course another thing she did not know, goblins had a high tendency to kidnap women. And the goblin of course the goblin began to attract the others attention and the green horde of perhaps 12 of them turned to face her rather than the two butchered guards. Karolin gave her bat a few experimental swings...She of course remembered her mothers words now.

"Oh my sweet dear! Did your father tell you what to do in an invasion?...Good man he is! But I'm sure in a big scenario even if you begin to go a little...weird you won't be in that much danger...Just remember to always keep one alive and give them to your mother dear...I like is all..."

Her mothers words came to her mind and she wondered...Was there any helpful tips? Hmmm...A creaming goblin caught her attention as she remembered what she was doing. Pulling her bat back she slammed her foot forward and swung her bat forward to the first goblin that would have tried to stab her with some crude looking dagger. The small creature did not even let out a cry of pain as the bat impacted its face. Easily turning into little more than small little pieces it's headless corpse would collide with four other goblins with enough for to break their bones.

Karolin would soon rush...or rather briskly walk forward and raised her bat against the next small creature and slammed in into the ground in front of the creature. However she did not miss, the force cause the small creature to suddenly fly up as the ground under it launched it up before grabbing the creatures face and leaping into the air, leaving behind a small footprint before coming back down and crushing the creatures skull on the ground while also landing on top of one goblin crushing its chest.

The remaining five goblins would all charge at once with an angered screech. They all charged at the same time which would be bad. Of course Karolin dug her foot into the ground. Giving her bat a few light taps on the ground she waited long enough, the creatures inconsistent screaming allowing her to focus as she suddenly spun around, bat facing outwards. In one clean motion all five goblins were missing most of their upper bodies as they all slumped over dead.

Was the invasion over? That was her thought until another horde came from the north...There was possibly 50 of them storming from the north. Of course she did not have the time to count each individual goblin so she just confirmed that it was plenty of small green creatures.

She looked as her bat and looked at the massive horde. Her father did say kill them all...and her mother was not here so for now her fathers tips would be helpful for now. But how would she fight against all of that. She was only armed with a bat people could see.

Placing a hand under her chin she soon nodded to herself. Reaching out in front of her with her own hand, it would slowly glow as a sizable hole opened up, at first it looked like she was grabbing the handle of a mace, however it became clear as it was no mace as the handle was attached to a large and sturdy looking chain. Eventually she would pull out the final few feet of her weapon which was a massive ball of iron which would normally be at the end of a morning star.

Placing her bat neatly into the portal she closed the portal up as she grabbed both the handle and a small section of the chain. The weapon looked rather...unusable for most people. Of course Karolin was known for her rather brute force. She kicked the iron ball into the air as she began to spin the chain around with her other hand. The ball would begin to very dangerously spin around colliding into buildings and easily crushing them. Their occupants long since evacuated.

She soon began to slowly walk forward. "No survivors..." She nodded to herself as the small but large green horde charged at her. She soon pulled the chain down causing the massive ball of iron to small into the ground a few feet away and into the group of goblins. She probably killed at least 15 of them, some not outright but their injuries would claim them if they lived...

She soon yanked the ball back catching a few goblins with it and repeated the same process once again. She kicked the ball of iron into the air again goblins still stuck on the small spikes and began to spin it a few times and slammed it again...and again...and again...

The large goblin horde soon was reduced to little more than pulp and limbs and she continued to spin the massive ball causing limbs stuck on the weapon to fly off. She had no real direction really, she was walking past the northern entrance to the town when she notices plenty more goblins.

There was even bigger creatures with them. She did not know it but they were Hobgoblins, a larger and more powerful variant of Goblin out there. And there were still lots of goblins to deal with. "Hmmmm...I wonder if the people don't mind the bloody mess...A little late I suppose...I wonder if my other kind would find this is interesting I guess..." She spoke to herself looking the gathering of Goblins, many still appeared fro the forests and even massive creatures with Goblins riding them appeared.

Troll Riders, a few on them of course and some riding wolves appeared. Some even in fancy armor and behind them all was a few figures of authority. Still quite a bit of them. Would be so much better if she had some fellow kinsman, they would love an opportunity to fight.

She simply stood in front of the gate, weapon covered in blood and her hand and parts of her clothing was stained with a bit of goblin blood. She was still ready to fight of course.

Morigan left the goblin she had been draining a dry husk before walking over to the fallen goblin king. " Well he used to have a face" Morigan commented.

Morigan then looked up to see more goblins incoming. Though the strange demon looking girl was holding her own Morigan knew they needed more help .

"Better stand back" Morigan told the wolf man that had beat in the goblin King's face.

Morigan started to chant as she plunged her dagger into the goblin King's heart. They body began to glow with an Erie green light. After a couple of moments Morigan pulled the dagger from the Goblin King. The Goblin King began to shake and then to rise up from the ground.

Morigan rallied the other goblin undead behind the undead goblin king. Marching in formation Morigan sent them into the fray.

Morigan raised her hands and muttered a spell covering the enemy goblins in a thick fog as her undead army charged in. There was mass confusion among the goblins caught in Morigan's fog. The terrified and confused goblins slashed wildly with thier weapons killing many of their own in the chaos.

Morigan just smirked sending Shadow blasts into the fog causing even more fear and confusion amongst the goblin ranks. Many turned to flee only to be cut down by thier own brothers.

'Rek froze, hearing the round tear through bone and flesh, he had prepared for the massive spell Lilly had begun to enact, but both encasing spells shattered, he looked to Lilly's dying body before turning back to the now attempting to flee Lyons, now, he glared vengeance at the man and began to chase after the bastard who had attacked the village, dragging from his belt one of the four throwing axes.

he stopped briefly brought the axe back and in a fluid motion sending the axe into an eight spin throw, embedding the axe into Lyon's back, if it struck, grabbing up his sword, he continued to chase the fleeing mage down.

now he heard Lilly's voice in his head and said to himself "Aye, I'll do that for ya' ma'am, its the least I could do." his attention turned back solely onto Lyon.

"I AM GOING TO WRING YOUR FUCKING NECK!" the dwarf threw a second axe aimed for centre mass this time throwing while on the run. Kardarek got within reach of the man and jumped up, planting a boot onto a wall and then throwing him and the extra 45Ibs. of armour to tackle the man to the ground.

Anek, having pushed his way towards the centre of the chaos where Corro did battle with Chris, he drew the newly forged black bladed sword from his back and pressed it into the ground by Corro shortly before the young man was sent through into the pocket dimension "A present from me and the Son" and then the boy disappeared after being struck by two motes of light.

"blood tricks 'eh" Anek spits on the floor and shakes his head "an interesting Attribute?" Anek waited calmly looking upon Eric, waiting for the impending attack.

Corro had stood up, now dressed in new armor, and was exerting an unbelievable amount of pressure and bloodlust on the man in front of him. And this was not just in one's mind, but it was Corro's aura that gave this impression. Each and every living being had an aura that one could sense, thanks to the mana in their bodies. Although normally one could not tell emotion from someone's aura, extreme emotions such as desires like love and greed, or overwhelming hatred and bloodlust, were often easily interpreted from one's aura.

However, although this pressure did feel overwhelming, if Corro was to charge Chris it would still result in his loss. He would get blown up repeatedly once more, sent sprawling, and be unable to overcome Chris' own ability. Although Chris was probably one of the weakest of their group, he was still strong enough to be a member. And his blood arts was a rather unique ability that was hard to anticipate.

In truth, Chris could have killed him a dozen times already, but his orders were to bring them alive. That was the goal. Otherwise, he could have burned Corro to death by igniting his blood without exploding it, sent an overwhelming amount of blood spikes into his body, or cut his head off while he was down. Because Chris exceeded him in physical ability, sword talent, and pure power. Although Corro had managed to figure out his weakness, it was impossible for Corro to ever defeat Chris even with Last Gift.

But as Corro had just scanned the battlefield, there was one correction that needed to be made. It was impossible for Corro to ever defeat Chris even with Last Gift, as he was right now. But he had one last experimental technique to try. As the Item Bag was now linked to his pants, he spotted something that drew his attention...something that would change everything.

And so, he darted. Not towards Chris, but instead he quickly darted and jumped over it, grabbing the second sword that had been left. However, Chris saw this and drew out another blood sword. "You think I can't handle two as well?!"

"Corro Porter Secret Art..."

As Corro remembered the name of the technique he spent the last two years inventing. It was a versatile technique, and one his mom insisted on to help utilize his talent even in a sword fight. Although Corro had been a bit reluctant, he decided to accept it after it was explained logically.

And so, he charged at Chris and the two clashed blades. However, the new one almost seemed to slip out of his hand.

"Ha! You can't even..."

"...Three Armed Barrage!"

Suddenly, his tail which he circulated more mana into then usual became able to extend to a degree and grabbed the sword. In the mean time, he touched the item bag with his hand and quickly pulled out something from the interface...which was a staff made to his size, with five Magic Stones imbedded in it. It was also made of a high quality material.

And then, Corro froze over a portion of the village with Chris being at the center of the spell. The sudden change in temperature however would only be applied to him, as Corro made modifications to the spell using his Magus Codex right before casting it.

And as the staff had also been swung towards him, Chris who had developed excellent reflexes blocked it. However, with his other sword occupied by Corro, Corro was able to flip over him while striking him with the sword held by his tail. Chris avoided a kill shot, but only barely and it was the first time he felt like he could have died from an attack.

"How...I should have more skill then him? Is his magic that strong?"

Corro's eyes glowed even brighter, the red becoming a level of intense mysteriousness. Additionally, his mana was also spiking, with help from the boost, to a level that made it more overwhelming. Corro moved as fast as he could, and closed in on Chris before he could back away.

"Ice Flurry!"

Corro let loose another ice spell, which launched multiple ice spikes at Chris. Although he didn't have to worry about most, he was concerned there was a special trick in them and blocked them all. But then Corro reached melee range, which meant the spell would end so he could focus on the swords...

...except it didn't. He had to focus on blocking the ice, and two swords. It taxed him, and Corro managed to take off another arm. Chris did not even have time to launch a barrage of ice spikes out of the arm and quickly restored it instead, just barely managing to block the sword that went for his head and then pushed Corro away.

"How did that Brat suddenly get better...and, why has the blood set to explode if he used magic gone off?!"

Corro had already neutralized the blood that would blow up magic with the earlier sub-zero after equipping an armor that would negate it in the first place, and in terms of ability Chris did have him beat. But Corro had two things he had developed long ago, which could now be brought to full potential thanks to Last Gift. That was his own, custom made Sword Style: Three Armed Fighter, which utilized his tail to hold a third weapon. And the other was an ability that was he reluctantly developed after having it beat into him during training by his mother...and that was the Multi-Parallel Thought Processing, or Multi-Task. This actually had been reluctant at first, but after learning it he noticed he could utilize it to not just cast multiple spells at the same time, but he could also use it to cast spells, attack with swords, and perform precise mana circulation with his tail to use it like an arm and a hand. As a result, Corro had gained the unique ability to utilize three weapons at once, and even cast magic while attacking with a sword.

Chris, who only had two arms, was simply being overwhelmed because he had been outnumbered in a sense. Corro could perform more attacks then him, and could use magic alongside sword strikes. In this sense, he had become a quality Magic Swordsman. The only thing he disliked now was his mother insisted he used a staff, instead of three swords. He could use magic without a staff just fine, but she had insisted so much, there was even a note left in the Item Bag for him after she died. So he couldn't really refuse it.

"Cross Cutter!"

This time Corro led with the two swords, forcing Chris to block. Chris had tried to retreat immediately after to avoid the magic attack, but discovered that this time it came from behind. Chris managed to dodge it, but before he could even get his bearings he decided to act, knowing Corro would be charging him.

"Chain Explosion!"

Detonating all the blood that had dripped out...had been his intention, but no explosions happened. Not a single drop of blood exploded, which forced him to dodge Corro's attack completely. Yet even now, he had failed to actually pay attention to Corro and dodged randomly. He was being put on the ropes, because Corro was overwhelming him by the number of attacks he could perform. What Corro had essentially done was created a technique where there was no guarantee of defeating him in a one on one battle, even against tougher opponents. Not unless they too could perform multiple attacks.

But in the end, Chris was not a complete idiot. He knew that since Corro had been utilizing more attacks, he also had to be expending more energy. In other words, Chris could easily defeat him in a battle of endurance since he was using this strategy. Additionally, because Corro was weaker then him, he had been constantly moving to prevent Chris from using a long ranged attack.

Wait a second though! But just now, my long ranged attacks...!!!

When Chris realized there was a very small oversight in his thinking, he also realized something else. Corro had been chanting a spell. Furthermore, all the gems on his staff were glowing in addition to several spots around Chris. In fact, lines and symbols had also started to glow around him. Under his feet, formed in the ice, was a magic formation of the Time Attribute.

"...and so hold him in this eternal prison: Chrono Lock!"

And so a spell of epic proportions was activated, as Corro had gripped a hand that he had opened and let the weapon drop from into a fist. This was the body movement activator of Chrono Lock. In addition, Corro had formed a Magic Formation using the ice, dispersed several Magic Stones including two that appeared to be glowing from inside his shoes he had discarded earlier as well as the ones in his staff, he had spoken the chant, and finished it with the actual spell name.

Corro had used his massive affinity for the Time Attribute, and all five Spell Focusers, to employ a spell with a power and efficiency that had stopped time for Chris.

"Now then, shut up....!"

Corro yelled this as he charged forward at Chris. Normally, thanks to Chris' blood arts he had a high spell resistance. However, because of the mana poured into the spell, and all the focusers being used, he was still frozen for a few seconds.

"...and become...!"

Corro was now almost on him. Chris was desperately trying to break free, but it was going slow. However, the fact he was making that amount of progress so quickly was actualy abnormally fast. But it was too slow to stop Corro.

"...the start of my legend!"

Chris also finally realized why Corro had cast Sub-Zero. It was not an attack meant for him, that was why none of his blood explosions triggered. Corro had on purposefully avoided allowing him to use long range techniques so he wouldn't notice so soon, so it couldn't be helped. Corro had realized that his blood always just hardened while in a liquid state, but never actually turned into a solid, so he was sure if he froze all the blood Chris couldn't use it.

And so, that was how Corro defeated Chris by cutting his head off. The strength he put into the blow was so powerful, the body went and flew through the wall of ice he made earlier to isolate them from the others, and his head flew even farther. In fact, both parts flew right between Quail and the Rogue she was fighting, and from the momentum Corro also stopped right in that battlefield. Corro saw Quail first though, without ever looking in the direction of the rogue that Quail might have beaten yet or not, and simply ran towards her.

"Quail! We are running! I have everything, so lets use that and escape!"

Corro told Quail this as he ran past her, rushing towards the thing their father had whispered to them in his last moment.

"They might have the roads guarded by others just in case, but there is a secret passage in the Northwest. Take it, and head towards the nearest city as soon as you can!"

And so Corro listened to that, just like he remembered the promise he made to them...for him and Quail to live happy lives.

(Ha! See! No more long posts of ridiculousness! And once we get on the road/reach the city, it will probably be even less! :D)

  1. Kyo parts by LookingAtPerks

Bellatroix slides back, black miasma leaking from her wounds as they heal, fixated on keeping this as convincing as possible even if she herself didn't feel up to it. It was fun, at least, to spar without intent, without hostility, refreshing even to just act without vindication. Then it happened, the beams of light, the familiar sensation of death, two bright lights had flickered their last and faded from this world, and something inside... sank? It was a hard feeling to place.

"That was..." Bellatroix mutters, as the streams of light faded, it reflected in her eyes as she stared into the sky. "A last will of some form?"

"Interesting..." Kyo muttered, taken aback by the genius of the spell he witnessed. "To think that far ahead, and even derive a spell that would manipulate the Heavenly System, even if it was just a portion to a small degree...was she really mortal?"

Kyo was shocked at the spells effects, which as a god he was able to read.

"Well then, shall we finish then? I can't just leave you know, but it looks like a few of my...acquaintances...are going to have a very justified death soon, so I think we should go all out for the fun of it. So many have died already, but until they are actually defeated logically we have a chance. I can't pull out until the chance gets low enough, so let's have some fun!"

And with that, he sent an overwhelming amount of chains that if Bella got a direct hit from, would decimate her at the atomic level.

"Heh, I suppose it can't be helped, didn't plan on using it like this, I call it... mmm... Valley of Bone." Bellatroix said as she watched the chains approach. She then immediately dropped onto all fours, lines of purple glow erupting across her body, channeling down through her ams and into her palms. Suddenly the earth rumbled around her and suddenly erupted into a strange assortment of sharp formations of bone, cracks in them hiss, revealing the purple miasma concentrated inside their hard shell. The chains, upon impact with the structures cause them to explode into a cloud of purple, obscuring Bellatroix completely. The magic within the mist itself made her presence seem like it were everywhere.

"Ooooooohhhh....I don't recall seeing that, is it new?" Kyo asked with a bit of a smile as he hopped into the air. At the same time, he manipulated his own aura. It created a shield that would dissolve all in its path, while sending several tendrils made of his own aura which charged at Bella and her magic. "This is something I recently made too! Let's see how good it is!"

As the poison dissolved from the surrounding area, something became immediately clear: Bellatroix was no longer there! In fact, the only sign she was there was some bits of bone and disturbed earth. Disturbed earth... she had used the miasma as a decoy! Suddenly, from below Kyo, a glimmer of sparks shines in a circle as something cuts through, and Bellatroix bursts up from the earth, with claws akin to a mole. Holding a chunk of rock, she throws it upwards in his direction.

"Seems like more have faded from this world, your 'comrades,' I assume?" she says, looking around to now see Corro heading out in a hurry, and Quail following after who now was mostly recovered, if not now clearly dazed and upset, thanks in no small part to "Last Gift," to both.

"Indeed. The mission is now impossible" Kyo mentioned with a smile. He could still smile since from the start, he had chains on defense but...that large rock had a dense piece of ore stuck in it. That could have potentially scratched him. "It looks like you win". Kyo was not particularly upset however. He had done his job as best he could, which will assist with the Contract, and the kids still escaped. It could be argued that out of everyone he had actually won the most despite being on the losing team. "Well, I wanted to have more fun Bella, but it looks like I have to call it quits later. Hmm...I wonder if those two will grow up to be fun opponents? Well, see ya!"

And after that, he then flew off to regroup with the others.

"Until next time, I suppose," she said with a sigh, looking to the two, recently orphaned children. It was a shame it came to this. At the very least they survived, and the village at least will not be unrecoverable. A demon girl, a necromancer, and even the one dressed in a suit had taken up dealing with the invading goblins. It was safe to go now, someone had to look after them if they were in this much trouble. Morphing her physical form, she returns to a strange stripe-tailed canine-like creature, she took off after the two children, intent to watch that they stay safe.

Transformed back to a human form, dirty from fighting, clothes worn down, slight rips from the transformation and fight, but otherwise physically fine. She simply quietly chased after Corro, allowing him to lead. She was quiet, yet clearly wanted to say something, anything. She wanted to say, that it wasn't possible, that they couldn't be dead, but even she knew that would just be a lie. She felt it, she heard it, she knew it, but that didn't make it easier. Her eyes glazed, but her feet still moved her forward. They weren't even going to get to bury them.

"A-are they... h-how..?" she asks, her voice cracking, only loud enough to be picked up by her brother's keen hearing. "They c-can't... it i-isn't... p-possible right?" She didn't even notice Bellatroix behind them, her mind was fixated on following Corro alone as an attempt to keep it together, eyes hazy as they had welled with tears to even acknowledge what happened.

Corro had to run. He felt like he had to. It was something drilled into them, that if their parents told them to run, they did. Corro up until then had managed to keep his cool, focus on the battle, and so on...but Quail asked her questions.

The face Corro made when he turned had a smile on it...but if anyone tried to call it happy, it would instantly be refuted by the others. With his moist eyes having rivers flowing down them, and with his expression twisted in conflict, it was clear he was in pain.

Well, he had taken quite the beating. Even if he changed his clothes into the heavy armor version, Quail knew what it looked like and knew Corro well enough she could tell these things.

"Wh..what else can I do..."

Corro, who no longer had his "Battle Mode" to keep him together, was falling apart himself. Although there should be more Goblins up north, instead they encountered a strange lack of them, but spotted a woman and someone else in the background. However, from what it looked like nearly all the Goblins were dead already. But of course, because the special variants had been targeted by various capable people, only the normal Goblins were left. The villagers were more then capable of fighting them, especially when their leadership got destroyed beforehand. Even the other children were killing off some of them that tried to flank the villagers.

At this point, the village would survive.

(Endings C, D, E, F, G, and H for this event are now sealed!)

(BTW, H was the worst case scenario of everyone dying, Corro and Quail getting kidnapped, and the RP ending because the story went in a weird way. Every single one of those endings involved the village getting destroyed though)

The Goblins had been wiped out, but now the two that had been their focus still had to escape. Why was that?

"The villagers...they will take care of mom and dad...but, if we stay here, it will only cause more trouble for them. But, if we go to the guild, register as Adventurers, and train to get stronger...then, maybe one day when we run into them again, we can beat them! I bet...I bet mom and dad took out like, twenty each before dying! I mean, those guys might have been super strong, but I bet they still had to use numbers against our parents! They probably wiped out a huge amount of them!"

In truth, their mother stopped one of the most troublesome ones, and only died because the sniper was outside of her, and well everyone's predictions since before in this world no one could fire from that far away. And their father stopped quite a few as well. It was easy to say it was their victory.

"And besides...and besides...I have to keep my promise and make sure you keep smiling!"

And Corro said it, as he kept running. Little did they know that there was a certain, and non-specified number of people who noticed their rushed and not very stealthy escape form the village, and were following them, one of those members being a dwarf who said he would look after them.

That same dwarf that without learning it, and dealt quite a bit of damage to one of the enemies...such as, the removal of an arm beyond the ability of normal recovery.

And so, they kept running towards the secret path that they had learned from some knowledge transferred to them from the power of Last Gift.

As Karolin was busy squeezing the goblin blood out of her suit, a sudden voice caught her attention. “Karolin Baade, you. Are. Amazing,” a familiar voice called out to her. Her attention suddenly shifted to Telekhus, the man she encountered for a few minutes before heading to the village. Of course there was the ever grave threat of the massive Trolls heading at her, but her attention was focused on the man in front of her who then added. “And, er, do you mind if I kill those trolls?”

The Trolls? Oh right. Her attention soon shifted to the massive towering creature behind her then back at the massive creature. She blinked a bit before tilting her head a bit. "I do not mind, I was taught to kill all invaders. So if you are not an invader you are on the receiving on this invasion...Hmmmm...This is good." She replied.

Once she spoke, their conversation was interrupted by the closest Troll getting into close proximity. “One moment, my lady Baade,” Telekhus then gave a bow as he then engaged the massive brute.

Taking the time to watch him, Karolin soon sat down to wring out the blood and watched him fight. His fist clashed with the Troll, he jumped high into the air and then...She heard movement in another direction. Missing the final blow she looked behind her and saw people running in the distance, her attention then returned to Telekhus. “You want to join in? Or do I have to kill all these idiots? Because I really, really wouldn’t mind that. Up to you, really,” He asked her.

Karolin tapped her chin as her gaze then returned to the few remaining Trolls. "Quite, I shall help finish them off. Perhaps afterwards...I can clean this suit of mines...I really like this suit and its been bloodied...Oh, the Giant creature..." Karolin spoke as she gathered her weapons. There was two more left, and it seemed that the smarter Goblins were fleeing the area to preserve their lives to attack again.

But of course Karolin was focused on the first Troll. She began to swing the massive spiked ball into the air and swung it against the leg of her Troll. The ball slammed into the creature and with the spike inbeded into the leg she pulled back causing the creature to fall forward along with it's rider.

Letting go of the chain, Karolin gripped her bat with both hand and ran forward as the Troll was stunned and slammed her bat into its head. She of course cave the creatures head in and then sat down with its rider running away. "Done here." She spoke as she squeezed the blood from her suit again. Perhaps she should follow the people she saw, they looked like they were heading somewhere...The blood on her clothes were starting to smell now...

After dealing with the threat by inflicting a grievous wound, Kardarrek turned to glance back at Lilly's body and shook his head "those poor children" he sheathed his blade and exited the front of the house. To his surprise, his father Anek who was wearing his old chainmail shirt, wielding a now snapped hammer and a bloodied hand was walking out of 'Rek's house with his travelling pack gear in all.
"here's ya gear lad, the pair headed north, you know the way" 'Rek took his equipment and shook his father's hand. "You'll be able to run the forge without me?" Anek laughed "I ran it without ya' for a hundred years, sod off before you lose 'em."

The young dwarf, moved on through the village, the carnage that had erupted was beyond his thought, thankfully there were a lot of powerful individuals about town to help protect it and ensure its continued existence.

Kardarrek's pack was an enhanced space allowing for a lot of equipment and the like to be stored, Anek had seen to the extended packing of the bag, stowing a bundle of his son's throwing axes, and four small stones each with the same glyph or runic symbols upon them, the stones in question, Anek had named them 'Whispering stones' allowing the wielders to speak in secret to one another without being heard.

And at full running speed (for a dwarf) in armour and gear Kardarrek followed after the two Porter Children, he had a promise to keep after all and a promise should never be broken. soon enough he saw the two children and then the third following close behind them, already on edge, he gritted his teeth and just kept following needing to keep up so that he could act if anything went wrong again. Neither did he take notice of the battle against the troll riders a few hundred or so feet away from the running four.

Back at the Village the elder Dwarf fell into his chair in the dwarven home and from the small side table he kept for his smoking pipe, he took his pipe and looked it over before pulling the two halves apart and the pulled from it a small note written in the dwarven script. and with a small smile, Anek laughed to himself "you were, right old pal...adventure is in our blood" and he looked up to the mounted painting on the wall above the fire, the large piece was commissioned by a friend, but it was Anek's old adventuring troop, six in total.

The Warden,
The Shadow,
the Light,
The Wanderer,
the truthseeker
and finally the Stormcaller.

Anek fixed his pipe and packed it with tobacco(or its equivalent) and with a snap of his fingers, between his thumb and index fingers tiny magic arrays formed and white lightning coursed between them, lighting his pipe with them.
"they never needed my help in the first place...well accept the one lad...better take care of that sword"

#, as written by Davien
"Um... Greetings madame Morigan."

He stammered, looking up and away as he straightened up his back. Clearing his throat, he continued.

"I am Kodan, and also elated to meet your acquaintance. I see..."

He gestured towards the marching undead goblins.

"Uh, I see you have no problem making new friends!"

He laughed softly, letting it fade out before adding under his breath as he tugged at his collar: "Literally.."
"Madame, I'm ashamed to admit I am not familiar with this side of..."

Quick... Think of something... Make it believable....

"The world..."

Shit. Oh well. He sighed softly and continued.

"And would like to humbly request to partake in your company as we egress the failed jubilations." He bowed, making sure not to break eye contact with her or let his overly formal manner slip. Maybe a Morigan could at least point him in the direction of a town that is not currently under attack, in the very least.
