PERSONALITY:
Quentin is that classic good-guy, social butterfly, popular kid every upperclassman is friends with, every teacher respects, and every freshman aspires to be like. A bold leader with a zest for life, almost never is the seventeen-year-old seen alone. It's like he's an entertainer with a group of fans constantly following him around. One can say that with his laid back, mellow, generous nature, he most certainly deserves all of the attention he gets. You know those people who can make you smile on your worst days? Those people who can get you curious about the smallest of things? A person who's laughter is more contagious than a plague? That's Quentin. He is unlike the other children of Hestia in the fact that he doesn't worry or stress very often. After all, if you were obsessed with Bob Marley, power walks, green tea and relaxing acoustic music in the way that he is, you'd probably never get anxious either. He's an idealist, but not completely wise, and it's obvious in some of his actions that he still has a lot to learn about the world around him.

Despite everyone's claims that he's actually a tiny peace-making Buddha (he only stands at 5'3''), Quentin has his fair share of flaws. He has a tendency to indulge himself in a vast amount of parties and other pleasures such as pot and alcohol (much to his father's unknowing), and will often times come to regret the choices he makes while in the heat of festivity. He doesn't understand those who are sentimental about the past, and although he may be brave, he's not completely confident. He still hasn't told people that he's a homosexual, as he's afraid to hear everyone's reactions. There's nothing he fears more than loneliness, and being judged is just one way to pigeonhole himself in with the many outcasts that litter Aeonis. Also, since he heavily values family, he's very concerned about his father's strange, depressing behavior. He's trying to cheer his dad up, but it seems like his efforts are only making things worse. He would use his powers to make those bad thoughts go away, but he knows that if he did, those emotions would only return later on, and the problem would never truly be solved. He knows that his father needs to sort things out himself, but he is putting in his best effort to help him along the journey. What Quentin doesn't know, however, is that that journey may not last very long...

You see, when he was a baby, Quentin was cursed by the goddess, Hecate, so that when he finally turns eighteen, he will die. If he finds out that information before he reaches his birthday, he won't die a few hours later, but instantly. Therefore, his tragic condition has remained a secret to most students and some faculty. Consequently, teachers look upon him with pity, and he doesn't understand why. It's all confusing, but Quentin just deals with it and continues on his merry way without a care in the world.

LIKES:
✔ Cooking (he's actually rather good at it, thanks to his heritage and potion-making father) ✔ Music in all of its shapes, sizes, and forms ✔ Making others laugh ✔ Heartfelt conversations ✔ Video games (particularly the Bioshock series) ✔ Epic parties ✔ Friends and family ✔ Getting high ✔ Playing his guitar for others ✔ Meeting new people ✔ Philosophy ✔ Bob Marley and Freddie Mercury (his two idols.)

DISLIKES:
✖ Perfectionists ✖ Dark, cold places ✖ The sight of blood ✖ Math ✖ Strict, rigid people ✖ The cruelty and carelessness of the gods ✖ Country music.

FEARS:
☠ Loneliness ☠ Drowning ☠ Fear itself.

FAMILY::
Otto Gentle // Father // 48 // Alive

RELATIONSHIP WITH GODLY PARENT:
Never once has Quentin laid eyes upon his biological mother, and every time he asks his father about her, he grows quiet. Regardless, he doesn't completely hate her. It's just that he has no real connection with her, so its very easy for him to forget where he comes from.

BIOGRAPHY:
His life has never really been grand or unique in any way, (save for the fact that his dad was like a mad scientist what with his many bubbling cauldrons and experiments around the house), but even so, he's enjoyed it so far. He lived in Cornwall, England, where he played with the other kids and did what normal children do. He always knew he was different, and his father never hesitated in telling him of his true heritage. When he got older, him and his father moved to Greece in an area close by the academy. Once school was out, they'd go back to England. They've been doing this for ten years now. But of course, Quentin does not know that they will never be doing this again. He is completely unaware of the curse Hecate has put upon him, and due to the powerful secrecy of others, will hopefully never find out. He tries to live every day like its his last anyway, so perhaps he'll be able to accept his death with pride and no regret...

FAVORITE POWER:
It always feels good to wipe away bad memories, make people happy, and bless them with a little good luck so that they'll ace their exams, but honestly, it's amazing to be able to use pyrokinesis, even if the ability is extremely limited.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Quentin has no idea he is about to die in three days. His father is trying to work everything out with the Olympians, but with their stubborness and uncaring natures, it seems as though a eulogy is going to have to be written rather soon.

So begins...

A flush of orange leaves litter the campus, and the sound of students arriving and entering the premises of the Academy would have been a sound most welcome to Enoch this morning, but of all mornings, he just had to hear the most discouraging sound raging from the sky only moments earlier, the sound of a thunderbolt belting out on what was mostly clear skied morning. He had to force himself to suppress a groan after being woken by the sound. "Zeus..." he thought to himself, before sitting up on his mattress, he was hoping this first day would be bereft with conflict, but knowing Zeus, his presence in most places signified something urgent, Enoch on the other hand wasn't very excited to find out just what brought him to the Academy.

In fact, he started to wonder, when was the last time Zeus bothered to visit the Academy? A place he often saw as a farm for the children the Gods regularly had. That single comment Zeus had made it so him and Enoch never saw eye to eye on the Academy's function, no where else on this godforsaken realm could the Demi-Gods go to find their true selves, and yet the Gods who gave them life find it troubling that they are given this attention. It was that attitude that led to the near annihilation of the Pantheon, and it was one that still persisted today.

Enoch had to be sure that those comments never found a way to his students ears, and it wasn't as if all the Gods felt the same, but if anything it was easy to see how difficult commitment was for these primordial beings. With all these thoughts shifting around in his mind, he began to ready himself for the day, knowing that Zeus had probably stationed himself in his office.

The orange juice he had for breakfast tasted a little bitter than it normally did, and it was no help that he ended up burning his tongue on microwaved leftover oatmeal, regardless he was there in his office, ready to confront the other God, who looked all but amused to be here, he never expected to have Zeus visit the Academy more than twice a year. In a sense, Enoch liked to compare the presence of the Gods at the Academy, like one would the tooth fairy and Santa; they often times came once a year, or like in the tattered dreams of children, not at all. Enoch entered his office looking rather solemn for Orientation Day, he had to hold back his perceived apprehension at what Zeus had to say.

Within seconds of his arrival though came Andrew, Enoch couldn't tell whether he was thinking the same thing, but in any case he was here to hear Zeus out. The God himself seemed as calm as he could ever be, he was even sitting in Enoch chair of all places, tinkering around with the items on his desk. Enoch couldn't remember the last time he had seen Zeus in any type of lax position, he always seemed high strung, even when Enoch was a young boy so many years ago, and it wasn't as if they saw each other rarely, why he was of course a guest here nearly every year. His presence was usually noted as an inspection of sorts, he needed to know whether or not the Demi-Gods here felt satisfied with their future, even if he didn't personally care.

"It's a fine day to see you two again. I hope that things are looking up."

Enoch suddenly forgets how authoritative Zeus voice sounds when he involuntarily straightens up in front of the other man. "Nice to see you too, and things couldn't be better."

"Well then it's important I share this with you so we can keep it that way."

Zeus begins to wind himself up in front of the two teachers, contemplating on how best to put this.

"Our efforts here are seemingly in vain...even as the total number of students who attend rise, we still have Demi-Gods being recruited by some mysterious faction working against the Pantheon. Know that both of your efforts to maintain a relationship between us and our children, or at the very least mend it is...appreciated, but unfortunately some Demi-Gods will invariably slip from our grasp, and those that do usually end up indoctrinated. We're not sure who is plotting against us or why, But it's obvious to me and the other Gods that their training far exceeds the one given at this Academy. This resistance is stronger, more known, and I have no doubts in my mind that they are looking at this Academy...they are looking to either recruit or tear it apart."

He stared at the other two for a moment remembering fondly how Enoch was first adverse to the idea of the Academy for his own reason back in the day, "All I ask is that this year, you two should be on your guard for students who seem impressionable or easily swayed by their emotions, someone will be caught in the tide, and I believe me and the other Gods might have a Cold War on our hands. I would like to keep the children as far away from this conflict as I can, but that may prove bothersome..."

Enoch nodded to confirm that he understood, there wasn't many words that needed to be said, after all, he was told many years ago to expect resistance, and through it all he would keep the Academy functioning as a healing place regardless of another's intentions. However, there was no resounding guarantee in his mind that he could keep all his students together, and that thought intimidated him like nothing else.

"I'll be keeping contact with you two about this, stay alert, for the line between enemy and friend may be blurred."

Zeus left the two much like how he arrived, in the flash of a bolt that seemed to cascade out of the school, and made the room smell slightly of fire. Enoch reacted like it was an everyday occurrence, Zeus was known to be 'flashy' so to speak. "Well Andrew, you heard the man, it seems like we're gonna have a handful this year.."

He began to walk towards his desk, grabbing his notes for the Orientation speech they had every year, "We'll start the year like we do all the time, see you around..." and with that he took his leave, using the silence of the hallways he traveled in as an echo for his racing thoughts.

For Denzel there was nothing better than having to start the day with a simple breakfast, even if he didn't find the standards of the school anywhere near that of the food he ate back home. Luckily he wasn't always restricted to whatever they happened to serve that day, they even had the choice of eating food outside campus in the city, though he preferred to have his in the Cafeteria for Orientation Day, it would do no good to be sitting around in a cafe, while their handsome Headmaster gave them their first rites of the year, and he wouldn't be caught alone without a least a friend at his side. His breakfast was Waffles, with a side of cream, and a cup of tea. Different from the ala carte that was frequently served for breakfast here, he could recall that half the time people didn't even bother to eat, not that the food was bad or anything, just bland. He began to cut into the soppy mixture of syrup and waffles on his plate, a bit bored at the fact that no one was here to whisk away the boredom eating at the sides of his mind in the moment. "Gods, what is it about Orientation Day that does nothing for me?...oh right...I've been through it 4 times already..."

At least this was the day that was simply known for getting the Freshman settled into the system at Aeonis, and for all the other upperclassmen to groan at the new schedules and harder courses they'd be taking. Denzel was grateful for the fact that they were given the right to have a day to themselves, and during this one day, there was usually something interesting going on,

something that the young man most certainly wanted a part of, something that hopefully included alcohol, women, men, all the other things in-between, and hopefully a hangover as the only setback. He could take a Hangover, any Demi-God could really. He smirked a bit at the thought of what fun may await later in the day and whether or not this year could be more interesting than the last, for once the future that he could only guess on seemed to point to many directions, and Denzel was a an agent of it's confusion.

The smoke entering his lungs seemed a lot more bitter once he realized he caught the wrong bus to the Academy, and was forced to stay overnight on some rooftop in the city, that was probably the worst sleep he ever had in his life, and there was absolutely no exaggeration in his mind that it was all his fault. No doubt his roommate was probably worried sick as to why he hadn't arrived when everyone else was supposed to, or maybe that was a narrative he created for himself as an excuse for the idiocy that led him to the Academy's steps.

Surprisingly, he wasn't even tired, just irritated by the fact that he got things so screwed up, mainly because he shouldn't have had to take the bus in the first place, if his car's radiator had enough coolant. All of this, because of him not taking the proper precautions, and now he had a car sitting in some auto garage halfway across the city, being fixed on money he would owe and the good will of a mechanic on the Island.

He grunted for a moment and pushed his sunglasses up on his forehead when he made it inside the building, rubbing his eyes and then his temples in frustration, but he was at least sated with the fact that he made it somewhat early, it was also a good thing that classes wouldn't start until tomorrow, so he could rest his already frustrated mind.

He walked towards the Dorms before allowing his stomach to lead him into the Cafeteria, he could wait to sate his appetite, but for now a shower sounded way more appealing, traveling for three days just to get here with barely 4 hours of sleep in between each day was not easy, he needed to cleanse himself, and get the clothes he had in his duffelbag on at some point. He opened the door to his dorm, not even in the mood to greet Quentin if he happened to be there as he walked briskly into his own room, stripped his clothes off and jumped into his shower. The water seemed to cool down not only his body, but his aggravated mind, and the feeling of being cleansed was quite welcome to the brunette.

He stepped out and dressed himself quickly, a simple tight black t-shirt, denim jeans, and Bomber jacket, and his glasses. Add that with annoyingly wet hair, and he felt at least ready to take on the day. He walked out out of his Dorm spotting a few familiar faces, but nobody he was feeling the need to address at the moment, in fact it seemed he would take a slow stroll around as there was no real rush for him to have his breakfast so suddenly.
