Huh. So Zappy had asked Otter out. Aiden's mood immediately darkened, and he ran a hand through his hair in mild irritation. It wasn't very like him to openly display signs of discontentment although that may also be because very few things can actually get under his skin. He treats the world around him with detachment and contempt behind a friendly façade, so the son of Zeus had something he could be proud of: Daniel had found something he cared about although people would be hard-pressed to make Aiden admit his emotional attachment to Otter. Statistics were Daniel's side, making him out to be a good guy and Aiden's mother was the goddess of choice after all, so who was he to intervene. At least for now. Besides, it may not be anything serious so Aiden forced himself to settle down before he worsened his half-sister's state of unease.

"I think he has the guts to accept any honest answer," he commented even if he was hoping that Otter would tear the meddling half-life's heart into pieces. It would be hitting two birds with one stone. He wasn't too sure about someone as easily spooked as Otter attending parties though. He had noticed that she really disliked body contact, something that was plentiful in parties. Sprinkle a little alcohol and other substances into the mix and people tend to get a bit handsy. The mere thought of it had him frowning, even if he enjoyed parties for all the fascinating interactions that may take place. Heck, he may not even need to lift a finger for something catastrophic to happen. He had not received any invitation per say, but he would find a way to get in.

His phone chimed again, which played in Otter's favor. He could see that she needed her alone time and was already feeling rather guilty about the situation, so Aiden took the opportunity to fish out his phone and pretend to be preoccupied. "I'll see you then. I gotta go now."

        To: Amanda Cartwright
A sacrifice for me to corrupt? How kind of you! :O btw, I heard there's a party happening this evening. Any info on that?
And speak of the Devil…Keisuke was there, waiting at the door. "Just promise me that you won't let anyone pressure you into doing something you are not comfortable doing," he added just as he brushed past the other boy, eyeing him pointedly. All evidence pointed towards Daniel being an honest and respectful guy, but nothing was 100% improbable. Having a close sibling was not something he was used to and he intended to keep his happy.

Marilyn giggled at the distant 'I love you' that echoed from the far end of the hallway, cheek still warm from the friendly kiss of a dearly missed friend. Watching Kiren scuttle about as she did brought merriment to her heart. Though in the end, Kiren's quick departure gave Marilyn little time to compliment her on the pleasantly fruity flavour of her convocation, one which was not too sweet and not too sour, unlike potions in the past. The kick of cinnamon left a refreshing tingle at the back of her mouth as she downed the last of the beverage, the heat of it not bothering the daughter of Apollo. The spicy zest lingered, even when Marilyn collected herself and slipped on her shoes. With a simple flick of a wrist, the lights flicked off and, once satisfied with the darkness of the room, Marilyn was off to the cafeteria.

Though Marilyn was eager to visit her friends, she couldn't help but slow her stride to lengthen the time she had to admire the academy. Of course the academy was something to be admired for it's intricate infrastructure, every stone, brick, and plank placed in a way that constructed a stunning visual. Also, Greece was something wonderful and breathtaking, especially for Marilyn who hadn't traveled further than out of her state growing up. However, at this time of year, when the leaves turned a vibrant array of red, orange, and yellow, it was more beautiful than ever. Even the air at a different taste; it was clean and crisp and just smelled like autumn.

Marilyn's steps faltered, becoming an odd, uneven gait as she became once again distracted by the messages appearing on her phone.

[From: TESS!]
[I think I'm just gonna go work in the shop. Not really hungry.]

Marilyn's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. This was unlike Tess- well, not unlike her to constantly be in her workshop, but it was definitely strange for her to back out of their meetings so suddenly.

[To: TESS!]
[What's up? Something happen? :( I can bring you a muffin or toast or something? ]

[From: The Grumpy Scotsman >:( ]
[ Let me know when you're free, a catch up would be great ]

[ To: The Grumpy Scotsman >:( ]
[ Well when are you free? We can meet up after school, maybe? ]

[From: Mandy♥]
[NO! COME BACK SENPAI| I LOVE YOU LONG TIME! T.T Lol so am I... I don't love you, pfft! I shall, will I bring your gift to the breakyfast of give it to you later? x]

[To: Mandy♥]
[ Present, gimme <3 I'm almost at the cafeteria and Tess bailed on me :( Come love me? ]

[From: Curly (Markus♥)]
[Hey Mari! I have most certainly missed you getting my slang wrong! Although if you do it these year, I think I may have to give you an F on your Northern Irish citizenship test :D I'm heading for breakfast, see you down there? :P]

[To: Curly (Markus♥)]
[ Do you think I came up the Lagan in a bubble? Quit faffin' about, our criac is fun!!! I missed you, Curly <3 I'll meet you in the cafeteria ]

Marilyn sighed fondly at Scott's overly formal way of texting and Mandy's completely informal, weird thoughts, the hole in her heart that had opened up over the summer being filled with the reappearance of close friends. The excitement of meeting up with friends intensified just as she came up to the cafeteria. Even from her current position at the entrance, she could smell the mouthwatering scents of freshly baked breads and newly toasted toast, breakfast sausages and bacon, and waffles, pancakes, and french toast. The aroma had her stomach grumbling as she hurriedly pressed on into the cafeteria.

Marilyn was met with the familiar sight of the cafeteria and it seemed that she had gotten there a bit late, for it was now filled with demi-gods on the prowl for breakfast before orientation. Marilyn would see a familiar flash of chestnut colored hair or hear a recognizable deep, resounding voice, but for now, searching for old friends will have to wait until she's grabbed herself some food. Her first instinct, as she loaded her tray, was go to for a fruit salad; the dish featured a mixture of glistening fruit and her favorite fruit, the pineapple, was abundant in her choice. Along with that, she grabbed herself a couple of Weetabix biscuits and a glass skim milk. What surprised her as she spun around in search of a table, however, was seeing Tess sitting by herself at one of the tables. Hadn't she said that she was going to be in her workroom? Nonetheless, she prowled over to where the blonde beauty sat and slid into the empty seat in front of her.

"Hey! I thought you said you'd be in your workroom." She ebbed, curiosity lacing her voice.

Daniel looked up in time to see Otter opening the door. He flashed a smile. At that point, he had slowly sunk down further and further, basically laying on the floor with his head being propped up by the wall, his hands resting on his stomach.

Daniel moved to stand, leaning on the wall with his hands in his pockets as he looked to Otter. Then he saw Aiden. He wasn't sure what he was expecting since he had told her half brother that Otter needed him, and he had though he had heard Aiden's voice going into Otter's room, but it certainly wasn't seeing him.

"Hey Otter, Aiden," Daniel stated, just barely refraining from using another name. He wanted to say something else. Anything else. But he didn't want to humanize the jerk. He made it appear like he was coughing, restraining even putting a name in there. It was amazing how much self control Daniel actually had.

"Yeah, well, a guy tends to want to know the answer to asking someone out as quickly as possible. Not that, you know... I'm like all guys," Daniel stated, struggling to find words that didn't make him seem weird or typical. He stood, just giving an almost smile as he tried to not act like he was getting eaten up on the inside. Naveen was a cool guy, and he hadn't really said anything, but his words were what kept Daniel there, waiting to hear Otter's response.

Daniel almost said something at Aiden. He was so close. It was right there yet he refrained. He could have said so many things. He had so many options to quip back at Aiden. Daniel wondered if Aiden thought Daniel was that bad of a dude. It wasn't like he had done anything previously to ever hurt Otter. Only Aiden.

"Thanks Ai-den. Will you be there tonight at the party?" Dan asked. He knew it was low, but it was the only thing he could do to make sure it wasn't obvious that he was making a quip. He knew Aiden was rarely invited to such events. He had on an innocent face, one that he knew passed for everyone, especially the teachers. It was always a prize winner in contests at parties like tonight.

He then turned to Otter. "And Pukka girl, you doing okay? Can I do anything to help you out? Or is there something I shouldn't do?" Daniel asked, honestly, being genuine. He hated to see Otter hurt. He didn't care that people would talk about the scene that they made, but he did care what Otter thought of him.

Tessa hadn't checked her phone as she fiddled with the device in her hands. Sighing as she broke the third finger yet again. She groaned and felt like tearing up just because of everything that was happening. First she embarrassed herself in front of Hugo, then she felt bad for abandoning Marilyn, then she stopped working to keep her mind of things, then she couldn't get the thing to work.

Tessa wanted to throw the project in her hands. She would have if she hadn't been in the cafeteria. Instead, she let her head fall into her hands, massaging her temples. Why couldn't she do anything?

She looked up when she heard someone sit down in front of her, giving Marilyn a weak smile. "Hey," She said softly, as if she wasn't into saying anything. She wasn't. She really only wanted to talk to one person and she was not going to confront him or talk to him. At least, not without Lucca beside her. She didn't know what she would do if he came up to her.

She sighed again before taking out her phone. She ignored the text she had received once she saw it was from Marilyn, then passed it to her friend upon opening up the conversation she had had between Hugo where she had invited him to breakfast then he asked who it was.

"Lucca gave me his number but didn't give him mine so he didn't know who it was or he did know and he just didn't care or didn't want to talk to me. Then I didn't want to leave you but I didn't want to come here because I knew he'd still be here and he's right over there but it hurts to look over there so I sat here by myself to try to work on a project and I can't do it because I freaking can't make things like it work and I suck and everything is just going bad," Tess ranted before finishing by just letting her head rest on the table, face down.

She sighed, glancing up at Marilyn slightly. "Am I overreacting?" She asked softly, pushing her project further away from her so she wouldn't have the disappointment in her face.

"Besides, it was stupid to think he would even look over here. He has so many other friends... Why bother with a stupid mechanic who can't make an automaton hand?" Tessa muttered softly, letting her finger push at one of the mechanical fingers in her sorrow.

She knew she was overreacting, and she knew she was being obnoxious, but it was good to let out what was going on. Her mother tried to listen but was often too busy or didn't have time to have a real conversation and there were few people who Tessa felt comfortable enough talking to.

She looked up at Marilyn, asking, "Why are the cute ones never interested?" Tessa asked glumly, in a voice that would cause a lot of people to elicit a little laugh which she didn't think she'd mind. It would make her think it wasn't the end of the world. A little laugh, or advise on how to get a boy to either notice or not be stupid...

Bella began to chew on her bottom lip, a nervous habit she had picked up over the years. She should have known that Landon would see through her facade, there really was no lying to him. Rolling her eyes in an attempt to divert some attention and make it seem as if it wasn't a big deal. "Fine. Yes, I'm texting him. We're going to meet up over lunch and catch up." Then, as she noticed his expectant look, pulled out the bunt she had rolled the night before and placed it in his hand. "And I know I'm not your girlfriend." She snapped back, picking up her pace a bit to leave him lagging behind.

Obviously they weren't together. They just screwed around like she did with everyone. The only difference was that he was protective over her and could be a little controlling. She ran her fingers through her hair, pushing it out of her face, and reached back down into her purse to check her phone. No response. Again. Once she had reached the front steps to the building, she paused, waiting for Landon to catch up to her. When he was behind her, she crossed her arms over her chest and turned to face him abruptly, a sour look on her face.

"Listen. I know I'm not your girlfriend, but you can't blame me for not wanting to tell you about guys. You tend to be a little... aggressive, when it comes to me." At that she popped her hip out and placed a hand on her side, cocking her head to the left and waiting on his response.

Lake wasn't one to get caught up in useless drama, so as Cory ranted on and insulted him, he just sat there and took it. He was shocked, yes, but Cory did things like this all the time so it was really Lake's own fault for being surprised at it. After the rant was finally over, the other boy got up and left, leaving Lake to sit there and soak in what had been said. Was he really a "puppy dog lover"? Did Nessy see him like that? God, he hoped not. It was scary enough that he knew he was having those feelings, if she knew, phew, it could ruin their entire friendship.

Lake rested his face in his hands for a moment, still letting his friend's harsh words sink in. Then he pulled himself together, realizing that Nessa was still over by the food and that the growling in his stomach was getting louder. He pushed back from the table and walked over to join her. She was talking to two of his other classmates who he showed a friendly smile and an excited hello. But it was fake. He knew Nessa would know it was fake, too. He couldn't shake what Cory had said, and he figured he wouldn't be able to get over it for at least an hour.

"Alright Nessy, what looks good?" He asked, turning to the food and trying to decide between cereal, eggs, and a muffin. It all looked surprisingly delicious. The food here wasn't half bad. It was better than the food at his grandma's, God bless her.

Was he flirting? No, no way. But... It's seemed like it and he did kind of ask her to be his date to the party. But, maybe he meant as a friend and not as a... not friend. When she started talking about exploring, she noticed the expression on his face. It was the same expression most people gave her when she tried to get them to just trust her and follow her. So to say she was used to it would be an understatement but, it didn't mean it felt good to be stared at like that. She sighed as she shook her head. "We-- We don't have to. It was, sort of a dumb idea..." She said, letting her eyes dart to the counter. From the corner of her eye she noticed the smile on his face and could feel her face getting red.

"No, let's go stargazing. We will dance at the party until we get bored, then we shall run to the stargazing platform and I shall display my minimal knowledge of constellations,"
She brought her eyes to look up at him before allowing herself to smile again. She nodded as she brought her head back up, after the blush started to fade away. "Okay, it seems like a fair compromise." She said with a raised eyebrow and a smile. She watched him move closer to her and quickly had her smile flatten a bit as he moved a curl or two behind her ear. She softly chuckled before lightly grinning.

"Tu es étourdissant, peu importe ce qu'ils disent ou tu penses. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise Jules. Come on, want to eat breakfast?" She smiled, still not knowing what he was saying but, it had to be flirty, right? When he got up, she grabbed her mug and hopping off the counter to put it in the sink. "I still don't speak French, ya know?" She smirked before looking up at him. "And, I don't know what you said but it was probably incredibly cheesy, like 'You've Got Mail' cheesy or, 'Annie Hall' cheesy and probably flirtatious as well. But, anyway, you, my dear cupid should probably take your own advice." She said as she fixed his hair a bit with a smile before taking his arm and walking out the door.

The walk there was rather nice, if she could say so herself. Of course, she couldn't shut up about her adventures that she had over the break especially about her antics when she Athens and how she almost got locked into the Acropolis of Athens over night because she sort of wandered into an area that was off limits. She was like a kid who got a new toy and couldn't help but show it off to someone just because they're so excited about it and would tell the first person they saw. Luckily, for her it was a friend who was probably used to hearing her babble. And by the time she caught herself, they were about to enter the cafeteria. She chuckled softly as she scratched the back of her neck. "Haha, I am so sorry. I've been talking your ear off all day, haven't I?" She asked as she looked up at him. "Well, I'm done talking. How about we get some breakfast and you can tell me all about your summer.

She promised as they walked in and pass Izzy's table which held about five people that Juliette knew at least one way or another, Cecila because she was close to Izzy, Cory because he was her half-brother for crying out loud, Sourav for... reasons she rather not bring up again, and Aurel because he was pretty much Sourav's best friend, even if he wouldn't admit it. Which was why when they passed the table to get some food she smiled towards them and said 'hi' to table and to her half-brother. They weren't that close but, unlike him and Marilyn. She had no problem with Cory, at the end of the day he was her brother... Sort of and she refused to shoo away any family she could claim as her own. Once they passed by her big eyes turned back to Lucca. Before he even had the chance to start speaking about his trip, she started talking... Again. Who would have thought? "I've always wanted to go to Australia and just go swimming, and snorkeling, and to see a kangaroo and--.. I'm totally do it again, my bad. Okay, I'm sorry. Go ahead and tell about it."

┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Water splashed at the window of the tuned BMW E30 as it sped through the Grecian streets. It's passengers sat in a comfortable silence at the familiar roads that lead to the all too familiar school. At this point, neither sibling cared just how late they were to the same lecture, same orientation, and the same material they'd been getting for going on four years now. Most of the knowledge they gained pertaining to things outside the realm of the immortal or supernatural was gained by their own inquiry. However, both looked at each other from time to time, sharing the same look of a slightly uncomfortable sense. This year somehow felt different. They remember how strange their mother acted last time they saw her, as fleeting as she was. There was a sense of urgency to her that had never been there. Everything in the world waited for a goddess and a goddess never hurries, but something seemed to drive her throughout their meaning. Something that was not lost on her two perceptive children, especially Ishard. Ishard perceived the environment and Isolde made the judgement call, that is how it's always been. In this instance, neither felt as if there was anything to perceive or judge and that made them nervous. A problem with no solution in sight was dangerous not only to them but for the people around them. Those problems swiftly turn to trouble.
Ishard thought happily about their summer with their father and family. He could still hear the drums and smell the bon fire. He looked to his sister, lost to her own world as usual and grew almost sad. While they shared so many behaviors, especially their intellect and how they interact with most people from day to day, he was still open to intimacy. He had even had his share of relationships during his time at Aeonis, some he still holds as friendships. To him it felt like his sister would never know peace, or what it felts like to be truly cared for by another person because she was too cold or afraid to be vulnerable. Apart of him wanted to hit her with the logistics. It made no sense in the grand scheme of things to allow something a petty as fear keep you from happiness, but he knew it was futile. Everyone has their own logic and Isolde, could pull logic out of a panicking schizophrenic. He could hear her now, "I'm perfectly happy with the way things are at this very moment. I have no need of the eventual heartbreak that non-familial love will eventually bring. I don't have time to 'find the right person' or to 'date around'. It's never in anyone's best interest to fall in love and I would be throwing out every ounce of self preservation I had to seek such a thing out."
If he could roll his eyes anymore than he already had, he would be learning more about his own anatomy than he ever cared to. Ishard looked over at her in the passenger seat where Nashoba had his head on her shoulder, his large tail constantly [i]thwacking
on the seat and made a slight smile with a mischievous undertone.
"If I don't choke you out of frustration by the end of the year, I will see you at least bat your eyes at someone sister. He continued to smile as he drove, imperceptibly speeding up towards their goal, The Aeonis School.
Isolde absentmindedly stroked the thick and glossy fur of their wolf pet, Nashoba as she stared out the window. His nose nuzzled her chin lightly as she faltered in her duties, deep in thought.
"I'm certain that no matter what events may occur to cause such a feeling, that this will be an interesting year. I should see to what companions I have, especially dear Schae. I regret how much of a rift this summer has kept between us. I wonder if she has any knew reads she would like to show me..."
And as if by design, Isolde's phone indicated she had received a new text message. Contrary to what most would believe, both Isolde and Ishard enjoyed as much technology and advancements they could get their hands on.
[To: Isolde Harkin]
[It's been awhile. Are you and your brother here already? I'd stop by, but that seems a bit stalker-ish. I'll be heading to Orientation soon. You guys should join me. I may not care about social status, but I'd rather not be deemed a "loser" my senior year by sitting alone. I also have some new books for you to look at. Cool stuff - S.C]

Isolde felt the corners of her mouth turn up slightly at her friend's message and made a move to reply,
[To: Schae Caineto
[It has been a while! We are on the road now, but a few minutes away from the school. I'll find you in the hall and you can show me everything I've missed. Until then, Isolde.]

Isolde turned down the radio that was playing rather loudly as they turned into the drive to the school and looked to her brother, who stared out of the windshield in mock concentration. She could practically hear his thoughts as if they were her own by now and he was just as anxious to get to the school as she was, if for a more nefarious purpose than she.
"That was Schae who sent the message. She's already in the hall for orientation. I suppose I'll place my bags in my room and go meet her." She found herself stretching her neck to see the tops of the trees surrounding the school when the school itself broke into view. She was never one for nostalgia, but she could most definitely admire proper architecture. The skillful way the filigree and design was chiseled into the hard white marble. She often found herself lightly caressing the beautiful, cool stone with her had, finding it more relatable than any person could be. Unfortunately, she was broken out of her reverie by the halting of the vehicle in park as well as her brothers voice.
"That sounds fine. I'll do the same with my bags, but I'm going to head to the cafeteria first. I am absolutely famished."
Both nodded to each other and exited the vehicle simultaneously. Isolde found herself simply staring that the school, making failed attempts at predicting what this year will bring. A soothsayer she was not.
Ishard, after unloading their large suitcases and bags, came to stand beside his sister and look up at the school. Even though bother were quite gigantic to most people of average height, he still placed his arm on her shoulder and laid his head on hers just to make her feel smaller. Despite his annoyance, Isolde still felt pleasantly warm next to her brother and didn't make a move to remove him. They both had core body temperatures to rival the dead, much to their childhood pediatrician's dismay, and always made people shiver by simply being around them much less touch them. However all they felt when they were near was a slight and comfortable warmth.
Nashobe nosed his way in between their legs and scanned the area around the school. Their ever vigilant protector. When he saw no threat, he stretched his tall neck into the air and howled the moon now hidden by the haze of morning. Both twins smiled and patted his large head before they hugged and eventually grabbed their bags and parted ways to their perspective dormitories.
Ishard was the first to reach his, he saw no sign of his long time roommate, Lachlan, but that wasn't unusual, as most of the students were more than likely out an about catching up with friends they hadn't seen over the summer. He decided to unpack later and left his many bags to sit on his bed until he had the time to unpack them properly. He wasted no time in heading out the door and walking to the cafeteria. As he neared, he saw a familiar face about to enter.
"Hello Scott! It's been a long time how have you been?"
Ishard smiled warmly, but kept his distance physically, knowing full well that most people didn't much care for the chills his nearness could bring. He opened the door with his left hand, holding it open so that both men could walk in.
Isolde could find no sign of her roommate either, except for her own bags. Nashoba had chosen to walk with her, feeling quite full himself having eaten on the trip up. Isolde has never had an appetite to speak of, but eats in healthy intervals to keep up her strength despite how her stomach feels on the matter. She too left her bags in her room, her mind torn between unpacking and leaving to other duties and leaving won. She quickly brushed her black, wavy hair and tossed it over her shoulder as he exited the room, her faithful companion at her heels with his warm breath on her bare legs. Neither twin cared much for layered clothing since they became hot so easily and the cold never effected them.
It was a quick trip before she was standing in front of the hall and walking through the rather impressive and ornate auditorium. She saw Schae sitting somewhat in the middle with her nose in a book and she smiled. It would be strange if she found her in any other state. Nashoba took off first, bounding down the walkway to run up to Schae, licking her cheek with large, sloppy wolf kisses.
"Nashoba! Kotoba!"(heel) Despite the authority in her voice, should couldn't help but smirk at his almost affronted expression at being scolded. She walked quickly up to Schae and rubbed her hands together in a futile attempt to warm them before embracing her slightly and sitting down.
" Schae! So good to see you! A Summer is too long for us not to speak. You must tell me everything."

Nessa agreed enthusiastically to exchange gifts with Priya after orientation. It was like a tradition they had done since their freshman year and Hugo had made his way into the event as well, having wormed his goofy way into both of their hearts. The proof was on his shoulder as a small animatronic bird let out a high-pitched chirp. Nessa's mouth fell open in shock and she immediately stepped closer to her brother to get a better view of it. With wide eyes, she turned back to her friend, pure, unadulterated joy dancing in her bright eyes.

"Priya! This is... incredible! Look at this! Well, actually, I'm sure you looked at it much more than you wanted to while it was on your workbench, but this is amazing! You've made leaps and bounds of progress!" Nessa exclaimed excitedly, celebrating Priya's mind blowing triumph.

However, the happiness that was emitting from her melted away when Priya offered a place for her to stay next break. Her eyes fell to the floor as she was caught between what she thought was selfish and looking after Brent. She couldn't leave her brother alone with that woman for weeks and weeks. That wouldn't be fair to him.

But what about her?
She spent the summer traumatizing his bullies, didn't she deserve some time away?
Her lips pressed together in a thin line before she gave them a small smile.

"Oh, we'll have ages to talk about it later, I'm sure," Nessa pointed out, sidestepping away from the real question with practiced ease. Brent always asked her what she was doing with her slingshot or eight rolls of aluminum foil or a duffel bag full of stolen police car lights, so dodging questions was becoming quite easy now. Right after she said this, Priya turned to look at the entrance of the cafeteria. Nessa quickly turned to follow her gaze and watch Cornelius strut out of the room. Her eyes slid over to her friend, raising one eyebrow and smirking.

"So, I guess that dream is still in progress, huh? Nessa teased, a strong presence of annoyance in her tone. Whatever Priya saw in Cory was parsecs ahead of her. Nessa would never tell Priya who she should or shouldn't like, and Cory was no exception, but he was one that came with incessant badgering that Nessa felt was perfectly reasonable. The girl turned to look at her half-brother, a fire of determination blazing in her light eyes.

"We're gonna prank that prick so hard this year, we'll make MIT look like amateurs, guaranteed," Nessa swore, the last word spoken like an oath. When she looked back towards Cory, her gaze got caught along the way and landed on Lake. He was holding his head in his hands and she began to rush over to him, to help him in whatever he needed. She felt cool worry for her friend, but anger was beginning to bubble in her stomach again.
What did that idiotic, selfish numskull say to Lake?!
She had only gotten a few steps when Lake got up himself and strode over to them. He flashed Priya and Hugo a bright smile, greeting them enthusiastically, but Nessa could read him like an open book. It was painfully fake.

"Alright Nessy, what looks good?" he asked her, something obviously wrong. She shook her head, trying to forget Cory and the stupidity that came with him. She stepped over to stand next to him, her right hand twitching a little.

"I would uh... well you know it's all... it's all good," she told him stupidly, stammering more than anything else. She breathed in once, twice and slipped her hand in his. His skin felt like hot electricity and she felt her ears turn an obvious shade of red. She made herself squeeze his hand reassuringly and lean closer to Lake.

"And forget Cory, okay? Whatever he said... whatever stupid, insensitive thing he said is ridiculous and nothing to worry about. Hugo and I are on the case," she promised sweetly before retreating back to Hugo's side, a hand covering her mouth thoughtfully.

"Hey, partner... wanna get started on that back to school prank? I got some pretty big plans. I hope you think you're up to it," she told her brother, her mind whirring like the gears and cogs inside of a watch.

Cory allowed a smirk when Isabel pointed out his rather rude introduction. He hadn't seen her all summer and he hadn't even used her name when he saw her. Although, this went over his head and was forgotten when Isabel accepted his offer to help out.

"Of course I'm offering, Iz, it's my only dream to serve. You know me, uber helpful and the like," he joked, laughing. This was not necessarily true.
Besides being rather self-absorbed, Cory was also a little lazy and would normally avoid helping out, but it was always different with Isabel. She could find a way to make his life more interesting than simply living out this last dull and drab year like he was half-dead. Izzy was also one of those people where if you scratch her back, she'll scratch yours and her favors went pretty far with exactly the right people. So, when he felt Izzy's tone change to a much sexier edge, he followed along and lowered his eyes at her, smirking.

"You know I do need some heavy lifting done, and I've heard that sort of stuff goes so much faster if you do it topless. What do you say, take your top off and move some stuff around for me?" she inquired lightly, batting her long, dark lashes at him. It was at this point that Cory picked up on the joke and he chuckled lowly, rolling his shoulders back, animatedly flexing his biceps, and joining in the merriment.

"Well, Isabel, I'm sure that is backed by a lot of science," he smiled while leaning in closer to her, playing her game.

"How about this," he offered, his eyes boring into hers, "I promise I will take my shirt off for you if you take off yours." The two were staring deeply into each other's eyes, silent conversations He was snapped out of it when a second voice entered the equation. He took a step back and saw Cecilia and Sourav approaching them. He couldn't say he knew them very well, but they were both pretty popular, especially with the party crowd. Cecilia would be helpful on his side, same as Sourav. They were both reasonably good people, you know, the friendly party-animal type.

“I would say I am all for watching if that is to be the case,” Izzy's sister chimed in, it was obvious that she had heard the exchange about Cory taking his clothes off. Right after, the two greeted him. Cory's bright smile still hung on his lips, maybe it looked a little vacant, having stayed present for so long.

"Hey, you two. We're just discussing how much better looking, not to mention stronger, we'd all be without shirts. Any thoughts?" Cory asked, winking at them while he held the back of his head with his palms, an extremely relaxed air around him.

Lucca didn't like seeing Juliette so... distraught. As if she wasn't sure why he should be talking to her or why she was even trying to be with him. It frustrated him to no end. If you loved somebody, if this was love, he had no idea, then you can't help it. You can't just say "no, I no longer want to love you," when you had no reason to.

She kept looking around, as if she was nervous to make eye contact with him. He wondered what it would take for Juliette to see he really did like her. Kissing her? That was so forward though. Lucca flirted with everybody by accident, but he certainly was not a forward dude. He had been pretty forward so far, asking her to the party (even though Izzy kind of assigned them together), and he had straight up said she was pretty (even if she didn't understand it). He sighed. He wasn't forward.

She looked so fragile sometimes, but Lucca knew she was anything but. "Italiano then? русский? ελληνικά?" Lucca asked with a teasing smile, going through a few of the other languages he loved. He liked Russian because it was so pretty, though most people didn't see it. He liked Greek since he was Greek, and Italian because it was a lot like French which was his favorite.

"What are you talking about Jules? Me? Flirty? When have I ever been flirty?" Lucca asked, feigning innocence. He knew what he did was flirty, but he couldn't tell when he was doing it. He hated that part about his mother, that he flirted with everyone whether he meant to or not. Even guys on occasion thought he was flirting with them when he wasn't trying whatsoever.

"Oh, and I can't really take my own advise. It would be pretty... well, I could. I see myself as a chico feo instead," Lucca stated, scrunching up his nose as he said the insult to himself. He didn't talk about his looks in a positive manor when people talked about them. Juliette probably didn't realize she had accidentally referred to them. Whether or not she had, it had definitely made Lucca's day.

Lucca and her began speaking as they walked. Or rather, Juliette began speaking and Lucca listened actively. He spoke here and then, clarifying and agreeing or making a face at the right times that he felt like it.

"I like listening to you. Your life is far more interesting than mine," Lucca admitted with an over dramatic sigh. Few people knew that Lucca wasn't very well off. He and his uncle had money to pay for their living space and groceries, but little luxuries came their way, which is why Lucca worked often. He actually hadn't shared the knowledge with anyone at the academy, not even Juliette. He didn't think anyone needed to know and if that mattered to them, then he didn't have any reason to want to be near them long enough to tell them.

As they entered the cafeteria, he saw the table Izzy had sat at. Cecilia and him... He wasn't really sure of their relationship. He was friendly with her and accidentally flirted with her, but he couldn't help that. Nearly every Aphrodite kid accidentally flirted. As for Cory... The two were friends, they got along. Lucca was quieter than Cory, and less, flamboyant, but he was friends with him. Sourav... Lucca didn't know what he thought of Sourav. He wasn't sure if it was his half brother that made Juliette so worried boys didn't actually like her, or if someone else was. Aurel... He again wasn't sure since she was friends with Sourav and he wasn't sure if he trusted the fellow himself.

He did give a wave though, covering his racing thoughts of who was there and who he was friends with or something along those lines. As they left the table, Juliette began speaking again and Lucca let her, loving that she was wiling to push aside the nerves about being with him to talk to him.

"Swimming in the reefs is actually something I like. It's really pretty. Snorkeling lets you see all the fish. And kangaroos are in zoos aren't they? Like... with their joeys too?" Lucca asked confused. He did like kangaroos though it wasn't like you saw one every day.

Lucca thought about what to say as he began gathering food, targeting apple juice and some scrambled eggs that he liked. "So, in the outback and in the wild, there are so many colors and it's absolutely beautiful in it's own way," Lucca stated, ignoring the thought he had to say aloud. It was like he dug his own grave with all the compliments he wanted to say.

"So, Jules, how far into the woods is your stargazing spot?" Lucca asked, letting his curiosity overcome him. He wanted to know so he could figure out what to do later that night, how to time things, and what to wear. He wasn't vain with that, but he liked to be prepared, and comfortable. Not just his red sweatshirt and jeans.

Hugo doesn't really think of himself as a guy who's particularly sentimental; he doesn't weep at weddings or hoard a clutter of his meaningful childhood toys and, although he'll admit that he's gotten a little bit glassy-eyed during an episode of his favorite Spanish soap opera, he's generally unaffected by saccharine moments. However, getting a big armful of his little sister after not seeing her for the summer, Hugo's little Grinch heart is glowing with affection. Nessa's familiar sweet features, eye catching golden blonde hair, and bright beaming smile has Hugo returning her big bear hug without a second thought. As far as sentiments go, Hugo was more than happy to be back with Nessa and Priya, forming their own Three Musketeers and Destiny's Child. But let it be known that Hugo is the Beyoncé of the trio.

Nessa's ecstatic reaction and lightning-quick words have Hugo grinning back at the daughter of Hermes and they prompt Hugo to reflect her mood. "You know I'd absolutely freeze to death in the cold Arctic wasteland known as Greece without your sweaters, Ness! I hope you've made me a red one. Red is so slimming on me," He jested dramatically, making it a huge point to motion to his chest in a feminine manner and run his hands down his jacket-covered arms. Taj fluttered along his sleeves in an attempt to escape the oncoming hands, the smart little thing he is. Hugo definitely agreed with Nessa- Priya really outdid herself with Taj. He couldn't wait to see how Nessa's butterfly would turn out.

Hugo nodded at Priya's suggestion for Ness to come stay with her. "Or you know, you could always come with me to New Mexico. Mom's always going on and on about if her babies are going to come visit and she's not talking about me, she's talking about you guys." Don't get Hugo started on how his own mother seems to care more about the two of them than her own son. 'Hugo, is Priya eating well?' or 'Hugo how are my daughters?'. On the flip side, Priya's family seemed to have adopted him into the Aiken clan as well and Priya's little brother, Dixon, is what Hugo likes to refer to as his protegee. Though, Hugo doesn't think Priya would appreciate finding out that he's being trying to show Dixon how to lock pick or swipe desserts when people aren't looking. All in innocent fun.

"It's unfortunately still in progress, you mean." Hugo sighs in response to Priya's obvious infatuation in Aeonis' resident asshole son of Apollo. Again, aren't they supposed to be the nice ones? Marilyn Tsinajinnie and Juliette Kingsley were just two hot buckets of sunshine. Somehow Marilyn has managed to even befriend Scott- god knows how or why. "I have a couple of things up my sleeve for him." However, before Hugo could elaborate on any plans, he found himself in front of Lake, Nessa's boyfriend who for some reason gave Hugo a strange impression at the time being.

As Nessa addressed Lake, Hugo tended to his text messages:

[From: Markus]
[What up my Puta? I'm heading to the cafeteria for my second breaky! Doubtful they'll have any soda or fadge, wtf is a Norn Irish man to do with himself if they aren't included in breakfast!!! :O]

[To: Markus]
[Not much, my Puta! You're going to have to make do with the other pitiful breads. Shame :( ]

Much to Hugo's disdain, there wasn't anything from Tessa, so she did probably have the wrong guy. Yup. Placing his phone in his jacket pocket this time instead of his jeans, Hugo's attention turned back to Nessa, who had just mentioned something about a school prank. A small, sinister smirk grew upon his face. "You know I'm ready, you little devil you. What did you have in mind?"

There are a lot of things that Isabel Nolan loves, after all she's hardly the type of person who walks around moping and thinking the whole world dreadful and grey. One of her many amusements is finding someone capable of meeting her playful flirtations and replying easily in turn. While some may see flirting as a petty pass time for the love stricken, Izzy knows it to be a skill and an art, and it's oh so much fun when one finds the right partner, or partners, to dance with. Cory seems to be one such individual, as evidenced by the ease with which he replies to her teasing flirtations. Her smile only grows at his jib at the science behind shirtless lifting, and Izzy nods in agreement.

"Oh yes, I've studied the effects of topless weightlifting quite thoroughly. For science, of course." She mutters with a smirk, before tilting her head to the side as Cory makes his own counter-offer. Where some girls might be offended at the request, Izzy only bursts out laughing, after all she was the one who first brought up removing shirts. She could hardly be mad at Cory for making such a fine promise when she herself had started the conversation. Indeed, she was just about to agree to his little dare when the pair were joined by two individuals that Isabel was immensely fond of.

Cecilia, her half-sister, was one of the only people upon whom Izzy could count on to throw a party as epic and amazing as any Izzy would throw herself. They might share a father - and a rather pathetic father in Izzy's opinion - but it was more than just divine blood that linked them. To compare it to Izzy's favourite drink, their friendship was as strong as the alcohol Izzy planned on creating for that night's event - and anyone who is anyone can tell you that that is strong.

Darling Sourav on the other hand, well he was something else. While Izzy sent Cecilia a friendly smirk in welcome, laughing lightly at Cecilia's spoken interest in watching the shirtless show, to Sourav she sent a kiss, blown across to Aphrodite's son with a flirtatious wink.

"About time you two got here." Izzy tells them both, "As Cory said, we've been discussing the science involved in topless heavy lifting. Luckily, you're just in time to agree to help out with the party, Sourav, shirtless of course." Izzy gave an exaggerated sigh and brought her hand to her heart, playing the damsel as she added to Cecilia with a half-hidden smirk, "Aren't we lucky Cece to have such strapping young men willing to help?"

As if on cue, it was then that Aurel Lupei joined the group, mouthing a 'hey' at Izzy. As the saying goes, two heads are better than one, and Isabel is completely convinced that three naked torsos are definitely better than two. "What about you Aurel, interested in helping out with the party? Cory has already agreed to working topless and I know Sourav was just about to offer his fine services too." Izzy cuts her smile towards Sourav as she says 'fine', her lips quirking up as she does, as if emphasising that it's more than just his help that she finds so enjoyable. Then Izzy is turning her gaze back to Aurel, "Shirts are optional, and heavily recommended to be removed."

There must be some limit to how often one can say 'topless' or 'shirtless' in a single conversation. If so, Izzy was coming dangerously close to that limit. Yet, if it meant encouraging three gorgeous young men to not only help at the party, but to do so topless, then she would happily go over any invisible word limit. Of course, while Izzy was all for inciting shirtless activities, she didn't expect any of those gathered to leap up and rip their clothes off... but one could dream.

It was only then that Izzy noticed the incessant buzzing of her phone in her pocket. Quickly drawing the piece of technology out she found messages from Cece and Aurel, to which there was now no need to reply. Mark's message, however, deserved an answer, especially given that the video he had linked was breathtaking. Quickly, so as not to miss the intriguing verbal conversation regarding shirts, Izzy types up a message and sends it,

    To Marky
I think I'm in love. Marry me? That video is happening, tonight.
I'm in the cafeteria if you want to join, leave your shirt off.
    xx Iz

With the message sent Izzy slid her phone away again, smiling up at her friends and hoping her text doesn't confuse Mark too much. Though the video he sent has definitely inspired her and Izzy knows what she'll be making as soon as the party starts.

He kept his phone his hand, just in case, and he picked up his book, he was feeling social. He got up from the tree and wandered blindly around like a lost dog, waiting for someone to confront him and start up a conversation. He was practically begging for it.

Juniper McKinney

June smiled in greeting as their co-worker Terry made his well-timed entrance, wasting no time jumping in and teasing Priscilla. Of all of June’s male co-workers, Terry was definitely one of the ones she’d always gotten on well with. Terry had a good sense of humor, and could jump right into their conversations without making anyone feel awkward, which was always an admirable trait. He was also very dedicated to his job, and while he could come off as a little high strung at times (especially amongst the students he was running about), It was easy to see just how much he cared about the kids here by watching the considerable energy and effort he put into bringing the best out of them. It was something June could definitely appreciate in a co-worker, not to mention a friend.

“Well It’s really only hassling if you boys don’t flirt back Terry.” June joked back in Priscilla’s defense. “And honestly with a face like that, and her natural charm, how could you help yourself?” She finished, half serious. Priscilla has a charisma about her that had nothing to do with her godly mother, and it attracted people to her like a magnet. “Any big plans for the start of the year we should know about?” June asked Terry, more than willing to engage in a little gossip before they had to be anywhere.

As the conversation turned toward Priscilla’s summer and scumbag of an ex, June pulled her friend in for a sympathetic hug as she got out some pent up feelings and confessed her worry. “Aw Priss, if Constance is anything like you, she’s going to grow up to be an amazing woman, divine influence or not. If some of your mother’s trait trickle down, then they’ll be a part of her, but they won’t define her. Just like they don’t define you.” June tried to comfort.

XXXEyes scanned the page in her lap. The hardcover book laid in her lap. The auditorium was finishing the set up. Some people ran across the stage ever so often to check things, and an annoying old man kept speaking into the microphone for a so called "testing". Schae wondered how many times the microphone needed to be checked, as the crackling when the man kept turning on and off made her want to throw her book onto the stage.
XXXShe wasn't a violent girl, but she did get annoyed when people did stupid things. The definition of insanity was the repetition of an action, expecting a different result. Maybe the man was crazy.
XXXHer gaze went back down to the paper pages, flipping pages as she went on. That was, until her phone vibrated in her pocket. A small went to her face when she saw the response of Isolde. She would have thought they'd been at the academy by now. Though Schae did get there rather early. She couldn't contain the small tinge of excitement in having someone similar to her to talk to once again. It was no lie that she missed being able to talk about complicated matters to the simplist thing, and have other good input. Her sister was not interested in such talk.
XXXAs Schae was about to slip her phone back in her bag, it vibrated in her hand. A name she initially thought about texting, but didn't have the guts to hit send. After what had happened the last year during an intense moment of Schae trying to get him to calm down, about what she didn't remember anymore. Something happened that made the friendship feel far more awkward. Their friendship budded a long time ago, they hit it off well. Though he was no insane braniac, doing calculus in his spare time, the difference in them complimented each other nicely. Now she didn't know what the relationship was - which bothered her. Schae didn't like not knowing. The message was simple enough. He was at the academy like everyone else. She thought momentarily before typing.
[To: Aurel Lupei]
[It's been an entire summer to be exact. I'm doing well. You must have just missed me, I was just in the cafeteria. I'm hanging out in the auditorium, I could save you a spot if you want. Or a few if you plan on bringing a posse]

XXXJust as she hit send, her book fell to the floor and an animal licked at her face in excitement. Only one animal she knew of would do such a thing. A wide smile graced the girl's face, and she allowed her hands to scratch behind the ears of Nashoba after the wolf was finished. She wiped her face off on her sleeves and looked down the hallway to see Isolde coming down with extended hands. Schae stood and accepted the cold embrace before sitting once more, picking the book up off the ground.
XXX"Oh. I didn't do as much as I think you believe. We drove around the parts of Greece I wasn't as familiar with. We went on a road trip, and by far the most intriguing place had to be Germany. I knew about the holocaust, but my God - seeing it. It was something explainable. I have a few books on that in my room, and we just did sight seeing." Schae paused with a sheepish smile at her friend. "So did you do anything? You're bound to have better stories than me"

Mark walked along the halls wearing a jumper he had just thrown over his plain white T-shirt, it was a simple grey jumper, loose fitted and what most would call unflattering but what he would call comfortable, his jeans were skinny and hung low on his waist, revealing the top of his underwear, something he often corrected out of his self concious nature, he didn't need anyone to see his vibrant pink boxers, well except for one person but he'd see them eventually. On his feet he wore what were once black converse, they weren't worn out, the black had just faded from being in the wash one too many times.

As he made it to the doors of the cafeteria, his phone vibrated and not just once, he sighed as he took his phone out to respond to his ever increasing popularity, he leaned against the wall next to the doors so as to respond to the messages before entering into the cafeteria and being in people's presence, he hated using his phone when he was sitting with people, it didn't stop him from doing it but he felt rude as hell.

[From: Marilyn Tsinajinnie]
[ Do you think I came up the Lagan in a bubble? Quit faffin' about, our criac is fun!!! I missed you, Curly <3 I'll meet you in the cafeteria ]

[To: Marilyn Tsinajinnie]
[A* on that use of slang there! It actually formed a somewhat applicable response xD I shall sit with you in a bit :P Imma collect me some food]

[To: Hugo Rojas]
[Damn, here I was hoping you'd have forgotten what those things were :O I'll have to plan better next time xD White bread it is pour moi :P You had breakfast yet?]

[From: Isabel Nolan}
I think I'm in love. Marry me? That video is happening, tonight.
I'm in the cafeteria if you want to join, leave your shirt off.
xx Iz]

[To: Isabel Nolan]
[You only think! :O How can we marry if at the alter you turn round and say 'I think I do', how ever will I explain that to mama and papa? xD I already told Marilyn I'd sit with her, I'll meet up with you after the orientation day and we can get to preparing the necessities. I'll be the one person in the school who you haven't talked out of their shirt :P]

He spotted Marilyn from the doors, sitting with Tessa, instead of heading straight for the pair, he made a beeline through the food, collecting 2 slices of toast, and two eggs, a strawberry greek yoghurt and a small bowl of fruit, he carried the tray over to the two girls, as he passed Isabel's table he gave a curt nod with a smile, as he passed the table, a thought crossed his mind, maybe Isabel hadn't seen his message and he was just completely rude and ignored her offer, by the time he'd finished his thought he was beside Marilyn. He set his tray in the empty seat next to Marilyn, quickly turned to Isabel with his phone out and montioned for her to check her messages.
"Hey," He announced himself with a smile, turning to look at the pair he decided to sit with, but when he noticed Tessa's expression, it faltered. "Did I interrupt something? Are you okay, Tessa?" Genuine care laced his voice, even if he and Tessa weren't close, he did deeply care for everyone in the academy, they were his family afterall. "If you need any help, I give excellent advice and also have friends in high places." He said with a teasing sinsterity to it, joking at his Northern Irish roots and how nearly everyone there knew someone who was a terrorist. Unlike most, humour was his go to when people looked upset, if he can garner even the slightest smile, he's made them feel better and also opened a gateway to helping them more.

Though instincts urged her to slide out of arm’s length from Daniel, she stood her ground and found flattery. His words had barely reached her because she were so focused trying not to budge or give him any reaction to appease the easily amused devil child. Good company as he were for Mystique, Daniel often felt the world were his playground and she were not about to encourage the idea of her being a toy.

The female had let her mind slip to other thoughts evidently as she followed Daniel then bumped into his back. Usually she were much more in tune with her surroundings and responded quickly to external stimuli but she had miscalculated her steps and peripheral vision entirely. “Sorry,” she apologized briefly. She threw her thumb over her shoulder to begin her justification from what she saw outside. “Kyle’s alone. And I just…” she didn’t even know why that had caught her attention…“not used to it,” she muttered, her voice fading from the sentence.

Mystie sighed out gently, expecting a range of unwelcomed smart comments to follow the meaningless observation, wandering to a table in advance so Daniel could at least get it out of his taunting system where there were less ears lurking. Since she had already satisfied her morning appetite, there were no need for her to be up by the food anyway.

She drummed on the table with her index fingers, blowing out her lips before deciding to tie her hair into a bun to suit the weather outside and keep her growing anxiety at bay as she waited for Daniel to re-join her.

Jensen let out a satisfied sigh as he laid there next to Amanda. He watched her as she grabbed her phone, and started replying to texts, a smile seemingly permanently plastored on his face. "Have I mentioned lately how adorable you are?" He asked with a slight smirk. "If not let me rectify that; you are more adorable than a basket of puppies." He stated. He then gave her a quick kiss on her nose. He got up out of bed, and searched for his clothes. "Yeah I guess we should get breakfast. Though I could be content with a double A battery, I wouldn't want to deny you my company."

He grabbed his Nirvana shirt, and quickly threw on his clothes. "Yeah, I don't know. Something is off. Zeusy was here. Could feel it in my bones. Don't know why, but it can't be good. Him being anywhere can't be good." He stated as he finished putting on all his clothes. "So you got any plans after this is all over?" He asked. Though he won't show it, he is worried about what will happen between him, and Amanda when they finally graduate. "I think I'm gonna travel. See what there is to see out there."

"That, and maybe go find Zeusy, and kick his ass. The Almighty's should be knocked down a few pegs."
He half jokingly stated. While he'd love to kick Zeus off his high horse, he won't go looking for a fight with him. He's not that dumb. "So you ready to get your breakfast on or what? Is there anybody we're meeting, or is it just the two of us?" He asked as he scratched his head, slightly messing up his hair. "Hey, I....I uh...really missed you." He then stepped out of her room, and waited for her to get dressed.

He wanted to say something else, he wanted to tell her that he loved her, but he just wasn't able to do it. He thinks that he doesn't deserve it. So for now he'll just keep things the same with Amanda.

"Have I mentioned lately how adorable you are?" Amanda hadn't noticed Jensen watching her on her phone, until he said those words and she looked up at him, she felt bad for using her phone in his company, so she set it to the side again. "If not let me rectify that; you are more adorable than a basket of puppies." Amanda smiled at his words, but didn't have time to relish in them as Jensen quickly hopped out of the bed and started the hunt for his clothes, she ran her tongue along her lower teeth and pulled her lower lip in to chew it as she felt the heat in her cheeks rise. "Yeah I guess we should get breakfast. Though I could be content with a double A battery, I wouldn't want to deny you my company." Amanda let out an amused breath as Jensen teased her with a cocky attitude, she ran the shell pendant of her necklace along the chain, it was a slightly nervous fidgit she had, she also did it when she was exhasperated or annoyed at someone as well, but most people say at as anxiety thing, well the people who cared about her.

Amanda lay on her front, to give Jensen some privacy as he collected his clothes and put them on, of course she'd seen it all before but she simply did it out of courtesy, sometimes people are really awkward putting their clothes on and are even more awkward when someone was watching them. Whilst fiddling with her necklace she heard him answer her question about the Orientation day. "Yeah, I don't know. Something is off. Zeusy was here. Could feel it in my bones. Don't know why, but it can't be good. Him being anywhere can't be good." Amanda turned around to look at him at this point, gathering the thin blankets to cover her body.
"Zeus was here? But why?" Amanda was afraid of some members of the Pantheon and as Jensen stated, Zeus being somewhere was never a good thing. "Do you think something's happened? What reason could he have to be here?" Before Amanda could panic, Jensen had changed the subject, she let out a deep breath escaped her lungs as he did so.

"So you got any plans after this is all over? I think I'm gonna travel. See what there is to see out there. That, and maybe go find Zeusy, and kick his ass. The Almighty's should be knocked down a few pegs."" Having been caught of by the question, Amanda shuffled uncomfortably and pulled herself tighter, as if to make herself smaller, as if it would make her invisible, even the joke didn't make her feel more comfortable, she let out a slight laugh but nothing like she usually would.
'Travel the world with you.' Her brain whispered as she avoided eye contact, 'Be anywhere you want me to be. Her heart screamed as she hugged herself. But she shook her head of those answers and finally made eye contact with him.
"I don't know, only time will tell." She shrugged, there's a genuine sadness to her eyes, but her voice was simply trying to play off a nonchalant, a 'what should be, will be' attitude.

"So you ready to get your breakfast on or what? Is there anybody we're meeting, or is it just the two of us?" Amanda felt bad for how she reacted to his question and smiled when he asked about breakfast.
"Let me just get my clothes on and we'll head? I think Mari is already down there, so we'll be sitting with her and no doubt the rest of my group. I hope you don't mind?"
"Hey, I....I uh...really missed you." Jensen admitted before leaving the room, not giving Amanda a chance to respond, her smile dropped and she closed her eyes to hold back whatever emotion may rise up to the top.
"I missed you too." She whispered. 'I love you.' She screamed internally.

After retrieve and donning her underwear, Amanda noticed the LED of her phone was slowly flashing, snatching the phone she had three messages, Aiden, Marilyn and Kyle.

[From: Aiden]
[A sacrifice for me to corrupt? How kind of you! :O btw, I heard there's a party happening this evening. Any info on that?]

[To: Aiden]
[That sounded rapey, Aiden xD This is a frog... I don't mean an ugly person because that's cruel, I mean a ribbity ribbit frog :P
Also, as for the party, I haven't actually seen anyone today, so once I see Mark, I'll ask him and inform you're gatecrashing buttocks :D]

[From: Mari]
[Present, gimme <3 I'm almost at the cafeteria and Tess bailed on me :( Come love me? ]

[To: Mari]
[Yeah, I'll give you it at Breakie :P I'll be there soon :3 x]

[From: Kylie]
[I know, it's just not long ennooouuuuggggghhhhhh. Oh, nothing just an awkward, but oddly cute, encounter with a major - like number 1# level - crush. But, I got her number! :D]

[To: Kylie]
[YAY! Oh Kyle you have to tell meh!!! :O You can't leave your favourite Aphrodite in the dark like this! You know better than to do that :P And don't give me that 'it's too long to text' bull poopoo! I'm heading to the cafeteria in a minute, you can meet me there! :D #ExcitedMess]

Amanda quickly typed the messages out before quickly picking her floral dres off the flower and quickly pulling it on, she placed her feet in a pair of plain black pumps and taking a deep breath, she returned to Jensen, with a fresher smile on her face.
"Ready?"

In Jack's not-so-humble-opinion, bacon cheeseburgers were definitely the food of the gods. Forget ambrosia and nectar. Sweets had nothing over the sweet greasiness of a food guaranteed to kill you by the time you reached 40. Skipper was already whining for his share and, with a softened expression, the normally guarded young man fed his companion the last bite of his burger. True to his word, he had bought enough for two and he dutifully refrained from grabbing his friend's portion of the meal. Still, he felt somewhat annoyed. It wasn't often he felt like being generous and here he was, sitting alone. Well, not alone. He scratched Skipper behind the ears and the golden retriever tilted his head up in appreciation. Animals didn't need to talk much. It was one of the reasons why he preferred them to humans.

As he scratched his companion, Jack noticed another person with a canine companion eating breakfast. Jack grinned. He liked Naveen. Truly, he did. At least, he refrained from lecturing him about their mother, even if he was a teacher. his classes were fun at the very least. Grabbing his trey of food, he walked over to join his older brother.

"Hey, Nav. What's up? Pick up any lost strays lately?" he asked, referring to the wolf pup that was now sniffing at Skipper who, for his part, had only licked him once, and perhaps other strays of the more human variety. Naveen had a habit of always wanting to help people. While Jack liked him, he still didn't like the thought that, in his brother's mind, he was just another kid who needed help.

Naveen had just finished sharpening his knife when his student Daniel came over to talk to him. The son of Zeus was stressed. That much was obvious. The poor fellow had just gotten a complicated response from the girl he liked. If Naveen knew anything about love, it was seeing it in others and recognizing it. At least, when they were as obvious as Daniel Keisuke.

Naveen placed his knife in it's sheath and grabbed a cup of tea before resuming his seat. He liked the old fashioned tea, with seven sugar cubes. Naveen liked sugar. It was yummy.

As Naveen cradled his cup and Cody began playing tug of war with his boot's laces, Jack Clement appeared with his golden retriever, Skipper. Naveen loved Skipper, the dog was adorable and loved him. All animals loved him. Except for sharks... That was a story he didn't tell.

Naveen smiled at the golden retriever and gave a slight wave to his student as he hunched in his seat and took a sip of his tea. He didn't speak until Jack did, giving Jack all of Naveen's attention. He lifted his chin slightly to be sure he made proper eye contact. Naveen was confident in himself and had no problem making eye contact with anyone, escpecially his students.

Naveen considered Jack's words before nodding slightly and scratching at the slight scruff on his chin. "I'm doing well, thank you. I have not though a couple of strays picked me up while I was in Alaska," Naveen stated simply as he took another sip of his tea.

It was then Naveen realized what Jack was truly saying and smiled broadly. "Clements, you ought to know better. This is the same pup that followed me last year and the year before that. I suppose I shall introduce him to everyone this year and not just the seniors... His name is Cody, mother gave him as a graduation present. If you get a doctorate in shool, perhaps mother will give you a similar present," Naveen stated encouraginly, at first slightly confused before realization had dawned on him. .

Jack was his younger brother, and he was a good kid. He cared. He had trouble in love as all demigods did, but he tried. The more he tried, the more he would succeed in life.

Naveen, knowing it would only be rude to not do so, prepped himself to ask Jack how it was going. "How about you Jack? Nice summer? Anything exciting? Been practicing?" Naveen asked with a smile and a slight raise of his eyebrow as if chastising him but doing so lightly and jokingly.

He was an older brother and a teacher and a friend. He wasn't half related to Jack, but it was just the same to him. Naveen ran his hands through Skipper's hair, messing with the dog's ears as he sent a message of happiness and joy to the dog through their connection before giving the complaining Cody who was whimpering from not recieving the attention. The wolf pup was adorable. And so was Skipper.

Naveen wondered if Jack would want to try to show his practice, but devided he wouldn't offer. He had already spoken a lot. If Jack asked another question, so be it. He would answer, but why talk more when you can listen and watch?

Tess looked up when she heard someone sit down to see Mark Buik take a seat next to Marilyn. Tessa liked to think of him as the car. It was simple. It helped her remember his name. And she liked cars, therefore, she must have liked Mark in some way or another.

"Boys are so... infuriating. And I wish they could pick up on how girls feel but at the same time if they did then he would know how I feel and then everything would be so screwed up because he'd be like 'Oh, Tessa, how could I like a small little blonde like you who is socially awkward for the most part and always has grease on your face?'" Tessa asked, rushing and upon talking as "him" dropping her voice an octave. It was probably comical from another person's point of view. Tessa, upon finishing her rambling, let her head drop onto the table again, sighing.

She thought about her words for a second before sitting up, her wringlets flying to land on her back as she looked between Marilyn and Mark. "Do I have any grease on my face?" She asked innocently and hopefully, not wanting to deal with it.

Tessa dropped her head down again before letting it roll so it was resting on her arms. She sighed. "Thanks Mark... Maybe how to respond when the guy you text texts this back to you when you text him the first time?" Tessa asked softly as she plucked her phone away from Marilyn and pushed it towards Mark.

"Am I being too stressed? Why am I talking so much?" Tessa groaned as she let her forehead go back to the table and sighed again, her arms hanging limply at her side. She groaned obnoxiously, wanting Aphrodite herself to show up to figure out her love life but not daring to pray to her. She was screwing things up as it was. Or maybe that was her son... Tessa wasn't even sure anymore.

Kyle's phone ringed one last time and he quickly typed out a reply to Amanda before going back to his book and walking to the cafeteria, waving to a few people as he walked by and bumping into a tree, pole or wall or two, every once in a while.

[From: Mandy Cartrider]

[To: Mandy Cartrider]
[Okay, it's not that super exciting... but I got her number! :D]
[Btw, I'm at the cafeteria, so, hurry up if you wanna hear the story.]

Kyle stopped at the door of the cafeteria before walking into it and picking a random seat to sit in, not getting any food and continuing to read his book, waiting for Amanda to come.

{Again, this post is very short, I'm so sorry!}

Bringing him back to the present were Mystique bumping into him which he only smiled at and teasingly stuck out his bum to her. Dismissing the matter with ease, Daniel’s eyes had locked on the food that targeted his appetite drifting along to it as well as catching every word of Mystique’s. “Then why don’t you talk to him?” he said bluntly, combining it with a soft tone. “Or is he busy being alone?” When he glanced back to where Mystique should have been, he only saw her retreating figure and smiled to himself.

He finished serving himself then sat with Mystique whom only sought temporary escape, laying his tray on the table and smirked. “Don’t like Athena’s kid? You uh…prefer Eris’ son?” he added mockingly suggestive before laughing. “Eh, he’s got his own ginger friend anyway.” As if there were a limited role per friend group for a red head.

Leaving a moment’s peace for Mystique, he silently debated whether to express the song on his mind or pick at some more casual conversation. Then again, Daniel wanted her to take more initiative. She reeked of potential after all and she weren’t going to unlock it by second guessing herself. But he soon called that hope quits.

“Sex bomb, sex bomb, you’re my sex bomb” he sung, shaking his shoulders subtly to the rhythm in his head and glancing around the cafeteria. He caught sight of Alex and winked and resumed his repetitive singing quietly of the well known chorus.

“That’s not going to happen,” he assured which usually would have taken a stern tone, and though he were serious about his statement, it were good to be accompanied by a smile. Before the pair proceeded to spar though, his mind started to work on potential scenarios and outcomes which were very unlike him who usually acted before noting on any calculation. Then again, the response he prepared may have been the bravest thing ever. “We better not.”

Yes. He had actually declined a willing fight. Maybe he were sick. He more so didn’t want to jump back on the teacher radar.

“Where’s this orientation being held anyway?” he asked, finding new frustration. Tristan wished the school gave him some more direction sometimes. This were a day he preferred to just charge through. Or at least hope for a Minotaur to bust through the walls and declare a fight so Tristan could claim defense.

Though Daniel at such a rate would suffice...just when Tristan thought he grew an immunity to the stirs of Daniel. “How's the family?” he asked for sake of distraction after giving a warning glare to the snake.

For a hungry young man, the smell of bacon, fresh bread, cooked eggs and more wafting from the cafeteria is sure to lift any grumpy mood brought on by an obnoxiously flirtatious daughter of Dionysus. Cooked breakfast was a tradition in the Darrow household. Every year when he came back from school his mother would make him a spread of breakfast food that anyone would be jealous of. Perhaps it didn’t have quite the variety that Aeonis’ cafeteria did, but his mother made it for him with love and that was a definite advantage.

As his feet carried him towards the ever so tempting smells, a buzzing in his pocket make his steps falter. His cellphone is pulled from his pocket and swiped open, revealing a message from Marilyn. He stops walking to reply, quickly typing out a message before hitting send,

    To Marzipan
After school works well for me. I will see you then. Enjoy orientation day.

With the message sent, Scott continues towards the cafeteria, yet it was only a few steps later that he heard a voice hailing him. Turning, Scott finds a son of Khione greeting him, his smile decidedly warmer than the ice his mother holds reign over. Scott returns Ishard’s smile nodding as he answers,

“I’ve been well, thanks. Yourself, Ishard?” Scott replies, as always his words are short and to the point. Scott has never been one to use excessive words where few will make do instead. Really, anyone who expected Scott to launch into a rant about his holiday or some other topic obviously had no idea of the boy’s reticence. He’d much rather listen or offer small tidbits here and there rather than control the whole conversation. Thankfully, he was slightly more talkative with his friends, and Ishard happened to be an individual that Scott was fond of.

“Your break was good?” Scott asks as he enters the cafeteria through the open door, nodding his thanks at Ishard. Inside, Scott takes a moment to scan the hall, his eyes spotting Marilyn sitting across the cafeteria, before landing on Izzy loudly chatting with a group of friends including Scott’s own half-brother Aurel. Scott turns his gaze away from Isabel Nolan, giving Ishard his full attention as he walks towards the spread of delicious food on display, “Your sister is well too?” Scott asks politely.

It was all Priya could do to keep her smile from growing too big to contain on her face. She’s practical in that she knows her inventions are far from the average knick knacks one can find at the local market, but she’s modest enough to still blush slightly at Nessa’s compliments and brush them away. Yet, she’s always overjoyed when her projects entertain her friends, and if this is how Nessa reacts to Hugo’s gift, Priya can’t wait to see how Nessa acts when she’s given her previous butterfly.

Of course, the momentary dip in Nessa’s emotions does not go unnoticed by Priya and she hopes that between herself and Hugo they can help figure out a way around Nessa’s home like. Of anyone, Priya believes that Nessa should be able to enjoy a holiday away guilt free and Priya would do anything to have that holiday be with her own family or with Hugo’s mother. Mother Rojas was a favourite of Priya’s, who loved nothing more than to visit Hugo’s home and breath in the comforting smell of her home cooking. Priya was also favourable to admiring all of Hugo’s baby and childhood photos, particularly the embarrassing ones that his mother always insisted on bringing out, much to Priya’s delight. Yet, before Priya can reply, she’s being caught out for staring after Cory. Priya is quick to move on in order to defend herself and the object of her affection as both Nessa and Hugo turn their attention to teasing her. Priya is well aware of their distaste for the young man, but as she’s stated to the both of them many times before and will continue to remind them, to her, he’s perfect.

“Guys, please.” Priya started, sighing and shaking her head as her best friends planned a devious prank for the guy she was crazy about. Knowing what Hugo and Nessa could come up with alone was scary enough, but put those two ingenious minds together and you’re in trouble. Priya can only hope that whatever they decide to do won’t maim is beautiful face. “He’s not that bad…” Priya’s sentence trailed off, knowing that whatever she said would fall on deaf ears. Instead she made a silent promise to herself to check up on Cory later in the day, possibly warn him to watch his step and double check whatever he was about to eat… just to be safe. Priya wouldn’t have dreamed of attempting to stop the prank, she may be crazy for Cory but she also knows her best friends well enough to know that when they’re determined to pull a prank, they will.

It was pushing twenty minutes before August realised that Shyroe wasn't going to turn up. With a small sigh, he assumed that his sister had stumbled into Kiren or one of her other friends and had forgotten all about meeting him; August didn't mind but now he was a little lost on where to go.

Reaching for his phone, August fishes it out of his jeans pocket and checks for any messages, before sending some out himself,

[ to : shy ]
forget something little sis? It's fine, I'll see you later.

[ to : mandy ]
my little sister just ditched me, is that sad? Please say I'm not a total loser :-(

After hitting send on those two messages, a faint rumbling noise emits from August's stomach. Despite having just had a bagel, he was still hungry. And so August's decision was made for him - He was off to the cafeteria for a second breakfast. Something that wasn't often uncommon for August. He'd usually have a small meal as soon as he woke, and another in the school cafeteria, not just for the food but also so that he might have the chance of seeing some friends before the start of the first school day back.

The cafeteria was only a brief walk away from where August had been stood by the school gate, so he arrived at the building shortly and was met with the most divine smell. People were clustered around the dining hall, plates full with all manner of delicious breakfast foods. August had found himself in the cafeteria right when breakfast was in full swing and it was packed. Grabbing a bowl and filling it up with a load of fresh fruit, August peers around the room for somewhere to sit.

Noticing a few empty seats on a table where Marilyn, Tessa and Mark sat, August makes a beeline for the trio. Despite only being casual friends with Tessa, August knew Marilyn and Mark well so assumed they wouldn't mind him butting in on their conversation. It wasn't until after he had greeted everyone with a cheery "Hello," and sat down that August noticed Tessa's slightly forlorn expression. "Sorry, am I interrupting something?" He asks them as a group before turning to Mark and frowning ever so slightly in a 'what happened' kind of way.

Shyroe was walking around in the hallways trying to remember where the cafeteria is, when she got a text.

[From Kiren:]
I'll meet up with you in orientation, we can do something after! Hang out? Have some fun maybe with friends? See you later my lovely love! :)

[To Kiren:]
Okie doke! I'll see you there! I'm currently heading to the Cafeteria.

As Shyroe sent the message she noticed a map of the school and stumbled over to it and looked over it sleepily. She soon found where the Cafeteria was, and headed that way, deciding to get a muffin, or something like a baked good that might cheer her up. But she was still really happy with her meet up with Kyle, she almost got out of her shell to talk to him normally. Soon her phone buzzed again and she checked and saw a text from August.

[From Auggie:]
forget something little sis? It's fine, I'll see you later.

Once Shyroe read the text she realized that she had promised to meet him at the gate, but she was to hyped up with Kyle talking to her that she stumbled into the school.

[To Auggie:]
:O I'm so sorry! I had a run in with Kyle and I freaked out, and, and! I'm soo SORRY!

Shyroe typed frantically as she finally made it to the Cafeteria. It was humongous, and in all honesty scared the living day lights out of Shyroe. She got in the lineup to gets some muffins- Looking around for August. The line moved quickly and soon Shyroe had to order with out messing up her words. "H-Hello! I'd l-like a.. Muffin! Please.. Could I have the blueberry one?" She asked awkwardly as the person nodded, but stared at her in a way she didn't like. The person gave her a muffin and she walked around looking for August.

Soon she spotted him and rushed over to greet him, when she realized there was other people there with him. She sat down beside August quietly and poked him. "H-Hi.." She stuttered quietly, giving a small wave to be polite. Shyroe only recognized Tessa from a class she was once in with her, but she still couldn't have a normal chat like she can with Kiren. The rest of them she didn't recognize, so she hid her face while eating her muffin.

Jack's expression grew sullen at the mention of their "mother". He did not hear anything else his brother had to say. The thought of his mother deigning to "reward" him with a small gift for anything he did pissed him off beyond belief. He laughed bitterly and could not stop the words that came next.

"Yes, I am desperately seeking my "mother's" approval. I will definitely study hard for my doctorate so "Mother" will deign to notice me and give me a little present. 'Hey son. Congratulations on making something of yourself. Sorry I fucked up your childhood. This will make everything better. No thanks," he snorted.

"I won't forget being shunted from foster home to foster home just so she could get back at my dad. My dad who she made forget all about me."

After a few moments, he regretted his tirade, but he couldn't bring himself to take it back. Being reminded of his mother set him off and as cliche as it sounded, he couldn't ever forgive his mother for what she did. Not with her continuing to thwart his every attempt to meet his father or even find out who he was.
