a character in “Aethlvohl”, as played by Phillip

Description

Name Phillip Marquardt
Race: Breton Gender: Male

General Information

Age: 31
Birthsign: The Tower
Nobility: TBD

Background

Bretons. So many of them with interesting little lives, scattered about in politics and Noble disputes. Many it seems, are prone to either great or despicable deeds. Lost in this sea of intrigue, stands Phillip Marquardt -- seemingly as average as they come. For all outward appearances, it could be said that he is as dull as any gentleman in High Rock. This is of course, if you are unaware that Mr. Marquardt is an art forger. Allegedly, that is. At the start of TES:O's timeline, such has only been accusation. Along with theft, extortion, and various other unsavory deeds. Between you and I, they are mostly true, but he has thus far maintained a successful cover.

Stealing, copying, and ultimately moving high-end art is just one way the shady artisan has made coin. He has also been rumored to duplicate the signature of more than one royal decreer. It's quite humorous actually, just how many folks on the right side of town are looking for an "official document".

Appearance

Height: 5'10" Weight: 175lbs

(More to come)

Strengths/Weaknesses
In addition to an expertly steady hand and proficiency as an artisan, Mr. Marquardt has an overly developed attention to detail in most things. He considers himself very good at reading people, which has yielded him a very colorful list of connections.

On the flip side of this, Mr. Marquardt has a very prominent Achilles's heel: he is a gambling addict. If not for this, the success of his other exploits would most likely have resulted in a fairly substantial fortune. His luck has never run so low as to put him in a jam, but his gambling career has seen just as many downs as ups.
It could be said that Mr. Marquardt regards himself a bit too highly. As our elders have often warned, this is something that usually comes before a fall. Time can only say for certain.

OOC
As the title states, I am curious at this point to see how you in the community feel about this character idea. I realize the profile is very brief and vague because of this...but that will change soon, I hope. My goal with the character is to make a believable criminal, that's subject to "change his ways" depending on RP. My only fear is to be seen as "too epic". It's something that I think can be avoidable, even with high-profile feats. What do you think?

So begins...
