-Name| Laurel Thompson
-Age| 21 years
-Gender| Female
-Appearance|
-Personality| Laurel by all appearances seems to be the girl guys love and girls envy. She was part of the 'cream of the crop' in high school, was on the dance squad, and made great grades. She wasn't considered a snob and people actually liked her. Even her family thinks she's perfect. However this is mostly a facade that Laurel pulls up in order to protect her 'darker' side. She does all these things because she had a huge inferiority complex and tries to please everyone, especially her demanding parents who have high expectations of her. The only person who knows this side of her is her elder brother, Ethan. Laurel doesn't have her self of identity yet and is struggling to find it. She often puts all of her true feelings into her poetry and writing.

-History| Laurel comes from a high income family and is one of 2 children. Her parents were actually more hands on with her elder brother since he was the 'heir'. So at an early age, she felt very left out. However, her parents still made sure she had the 'best of the best' while growing up. She was very close to her paternal grandmother whom encouraged her to write. However, when her grandmother died when she was only 8, it had a big impact on Laurel and that's when she started to put on a 'mask' to the world. She and her brother, Ethan started to become close when Ethan started noticing a change in his sister's behavior after their grandmother's death. Her parents started to become more 'involved' with Laurel's life when she reached her teenage years and expected her to be the best. Laurel, wanting to please her parents, did pretty much everything they wanted of her, even though she lost herself in the process. Now with this arrange marriage situation, Laurel honestly doesn't feel she's ready for it, but ever the obedient daughter, goes along with it.
