Peter received his charm from his father, who had received it from his father before him. His grandfather was a member of the Breakers, but had distanced from them upon starting a family. The same occurred with Peter's father, as well --he moved on from working in the organization to running the family business after his father [Peter's grandfather] retired. Anyway, the charm is an old pocket watch. It no longer serves as an actual watch, because the hour hand has fallen off, unfortunately. Due to his tendency to not become sentimental about items [or become overly so] Peter's relationship with the pocket watch is surprisingly shallow, given that he has had it for a few years. It serves to transport him in time, of course, and performs some minor functions, but he cannot change appearance, see times/names, lock time, etc. He has to rely on his own skills to deal with situations.

People Watching - While he holds little regard for most people as individuals, he finds people as a whole to be rather fascinating, and regularly engages in the observation of random people. This includes secretly following them around, sometimes for days on end if they are interesting enough. It's basically stalking. This habit is why he has such sharpened stealth and observation skills.
Reading - With a fascination for all things related to people who have at some point been in power, he is often found reading various biographies, essays, and other such things on dictators, royal families, shadow leaders, and the like.
