Abilities

Astral Projection- Pavo is capable of projecting his soul outside of his body, allowing him to travel vast distances across the universe. While in this state he is completely invisible, save for those with mental abilities that could sense him or else he chooses to do so by his other mental abilities. He is also incapable of interacting the physical world. While in his astral form his physical body becomes lifeless. Prolonged usage can be dangerous for both his astral and physical body, as his spirit can only exist for so long without a body, and will eventually fade away if he's away from his body for too long.

Psychometry- Like Harmonix he is able to absorb memories from individuals by touching them, however unlike Autumn he has finer control over it, and is also capable of using it on objects as well, being able to sense psychic imprints of events that happened near the object.

Dream Control- Through his mental abilities he is capable of entering, and manipulating one's dreams, shaping them into whatever form he wishes.

Persuasion- A subpower of his telepathy, Pavo is able to implant suggestions into others minds, though it does have it's limits, it can be overcome by a particularly strong will, and has little effect on celestial beings, and can only last for a few hours at most.

Telepathy- Pavo is a powerful telepath, and able to read the minds of humans with little to no effort at all, though Stars and other celestial beings can require more effort.

Element Spirit- Pavo is able to tap into all 4 major elements of fire, water, air, and water, but is still learning how to grow these abilities since they are the newest abilities in his repertoire of skills.

Personality

~Arrogant, Confident, Jester, Protective, Perverted, Charming, Clever~

Even before becoming a star, Pavo was always a confident person. He was raised to be so after all thanks to his parents. And he tended to excel at everything he did as a result. This confidence only grew after becoming a star to the point where he started becoming arrogant. But he had the power to back up his words. However, he never showed this arrogance around the Sun and Moon, having seen what they are capable of. He is eternally grateful to them for giving him a new role in life, although he does miss his human family dreadfully.

Having lost his freedom before he does his best to make sure others have it, but is very protective at the same time, especially after the Earth incident involving Harmonix. At part of him feels he failed his human family, so he does his best to make sure the new family he has stays safe, all the while making sure they have the freedom to do what they feel is best.

Having nothing but sisters growing up, he also had an eye for them, even as boy and learned how to treat a woman. However no woman ever captured his heart and when the war started, only France's liberation was what he gave his heart and cause to. Still he loves the company of women and will naturally flirt with anyone unless it's the Moon, Aurora, Harmonix, or anyone under age. He does have his limits.

Pavo is a bit of trickster and enjoys playing pranks from time to time, but would never go so far as to hurt someone, unless he feels they really deserve it. His fav target is Aurora. He has gotten in trouble for it and it's normally Astraea who catches him.

History

Before he was a Star, before he was known as Pavo, he was a man like any other, a young man named Lucien Bellerose. Born and raised in Paris, France in 1922, Lucien was the middle child of three, as well as the only boy. His parents owned a bookstore, and he had a fairly normal upbringing. By the time he was a teenager the Nazis began their occupation of France.

It was a chaotic, and fearful time in Paris, with an influx of refugees, and the entire city preparing to fend off the German invaders. His mother wanted to flee the city, and head to the countryside to stay with her family, but his father refused to abandon their shop, and their home. It was this stubbornness that would lead to Lucien's parents, and younger sister's death during the first bombing of Paris on June 3rd, with them being among the nearly 200 civilians that died.

Not long after the bombing the government abandoned Paris, allowing the Nazis to take the city with no resistance. And unfortunately for Lucien and his older sister, Danielle, were not among the droves of citizens that escaped the city before the German occupiers took over the city. Life under Nazi rule was like a living hell for the Parisians. Seeing a swastika raised high above the Eiffel Tower, and German troops walking down the street like they owned them everyday was heartbreaking and demoralizing to say the least.

By the time fall came around food was scarce, with the lion's share going to the Germans, and the ration system was incredibly mismanaged. People were starving, and their only options were either to make due, or risk the black market. But of course there was another option, women would often consort with the German troops in order to get more ration cards, something that Danielle did. If it was for the family she had left she was willing to endure anything, even the disgust and humiliation she felt, and the ridicule she got from other Parisians.

As one would expect Lucien was not too happy with it, but despite his protests, and pleas for her to stop she didn't, to her it was a necessary evil to insure that they had what they needed. It disgusted Lucien, and in order to make up for it in some way he found himself involved with the French Resistance. At first his involvement was simply handing out clandestine pamphlets, and newspapers. And then later on he would actively spy, and at times sabotage the German troops. Surprisingly Lucien proved to have a natural knack for espionage, and deception.

When the Service du Travail Obligatoire (English: Compulsory Work Service; or S.T.O. for short) was enacted in 1943, which would require young men such as Lucien to work as forced labor in Germany, Lucien was forced to leave Paris, and go into hiding. But Lucien wasn't done fighting against the Nazis, not long after he joined up with a cell of the Maquis, a guerrilla band of Resistance fighters in rural areas of France that was mostly composed of young men like him that fled conscription into the S.T.O.

As a member of the Maquis Lucien took a more active role in the Resistance, taking the fight directly to the Nazis. It was a difficult transition from rebel spy to resistance fighter. He had never killed anyone before, even if they were Nazis they were still people, people with families, and loved ones, no matter what their allegiance was. But he couldn't worry about that. He had to to push that aside, he couldn't afford to see them as human, they had to be monsters to be slayed. That was the only way for him to be able to sleep at night.

In 1944 on D-Day Lucien's cell was to delay German mobilization by attacking a German garrison en route to the Atlantic coast. That was the day that Lucien died. During the clash with the garrison Lucien sacrificed his life in order to the life of one his brothers in arms. And then there was darkness. At that moment he thought it was all over, but he was wrong. He had awoken to what he thought was the Afterlife, he was met by a beautiful woman with white hair and a handsome man with golden blonde hair. They introduced themselves as the Moon and Sun, a Goddess, and God.

They informed him that he had died, and as a reward for his heroism, valor, and sacrifice he would be given a new life, a second chance. He would become a Star. He accepted, and was given the new name Pavo, after the constellation. As a Star Pavo was gifted with powerful psychic abilities. He was tasked with protecting Moon and Sun's children, the four seasons. Pavo easily developed a friendship with the seasons, with him quickly seeing them as a surrogate family to the one he lost.

After the Seasons leave for Earth, he along with his superior, the Senior Star, are tasked with finding them, but unlike Astraea, he's not all gunho about them returning right away, feeling they deserve some freedom in the choices they make. However he is concerned for their safety, especially Harmonix's.

”It's okay to feel weak sometimes. It's okay to be afraid.
The important thing is that we face our fears.
That's … That's what makes us strong.”

Hex Code ~ #B43104

From the beginning of time, humans have worshiped some form of a deity. Where they got the ideology that another more powerful being existed, watching over them and also judging their every movement, their every decision - their every thought - is beyond the understanding of modern day scientists. Some speculate that humans do this as a coping mechanism for when thinking about their inevitable deaths, so that instead of the panic of the unknown, they have something to look forward to. All that is known is that they have worshiped some sort of ethereal being since the beginning of their existence.

Jesus. Allah. Moses. Zeus. God.

Those are but a few of the many, many deities and omnipotent beings that the humans have ‘thought’ of as their creators. Obviously, none of them came close to the truth - the truth that the Sun and the Moon, two ‘planets’, as they were deemed by humans, were the actual creators of all living creatures - but that was partially the doing of said deities. Ever since the humans began to wonder how they came to be, how they were created, or in general question anything related to such a subject, the Sun and the Moon have ventured to Earth to regularly spin stories and spread them across the world in an attempt to slow the discovery of their being. Once their children were born, however, they put far more effort into keeping their existence hidden, into preventing them and their children from being discovered. Any human that came close to the truth was promptly dealt with, usually by the Senior Star given her memory suppression capabilities, and thus far they believe that their web of lies and legends has held up.

The lies were put into place to not only protect the Sun and Moon, and not only their children, either, but also the human beings themselves. If they were to discover the true origin of their beginnings, there is no telling what the outcome could be. What could become of the children and their parents is unknown, seeing as the two deities never once claimed to be omnipotent, and they have lived in slight fear of their existence becoming known one day.

They don’t, of course, plan to hide themselves forever. Simply until they deem the humans to be capable of accepting their existences without any repercussions; and so far, they have yet to prove themselves worthy to know the truth.

The main cause of war in human society stems from religious views. The main cause of disputes between people is caused by their differences in beliefs.

Many, many issues in human society, both currently and throughout the past, can be traced back to religious differences. The Crusades are a prime example of holy wars, during which time countless lives were lost.

The witch trials across Europe and early America are another example of the religious influence that causes mass genocides to take place. World War II, in which Adolf Hitler attempted to wipe out all of those belonging to the Jewish faith.

To sum everything up, human beings as a whole are not ready to accept the truth. They are close - Gods, they are so very close - to being able to hear the real truth and accept it without negative consequences or outcomes.

But they aren’t quite there yet; and so the Sun and the Moon are not ready to take the chance of revealing their existence to any human being, out of fear of them spreading the knowledge of their lives to other humans throughout the world. And so we hide.

We always hide.

“Ms. Orako, the Headmaster has finished with your brother and is ready to see you now.”

Velonix glanced up at the Headmaster’s Assistant from the blank, old book that she had been writing in. It had been given to her by the owner of the bookshop that she had just recently been given a job at as a welcoming present. She had seen it through the window when she had been walking by, and it had prompted her to enter the store, almost as though it were calling for her. When the owner, Mr. Zwemmer, saw her inside and staring at it, he had removed it from its case and allowed her to look more closely at it. While she was studying it, they began a conversation, and one thing led to another, and she ended up with her first real job in the human world. After hiring her and observing the longing in her eyes for the book while going through the paperwork process, Mr. Zwemmer finally caved and gave her it as a gift, much to her happiness. She had promised vehemently to care for it as though it were a living creature, and he laughed in response, knowing that she would. Her first shift would be in an hour, after classes had ended, as she was supposed to be receiving all of her school information now and the boy who Mr. Zwemmer had assigned to train her on the way that things were run around the store was in the same school as her.

Setting down the quill - yes, she still wrote with a quill and ink, deal with it - she put the stopper into her ink bottle and pushed back her chair, rising from her seat at the desk that she was told to wait at in the teacher’s offices. She placed the book and writing utensils in her messenger bag, slung it over her shoulder, and rubbed her arms absentmindedly.

She could still remember the day that her siblings pushed her into returning to Earth, which was only two weeks prior to the present day. The idea had been hers - a decision that still surprised her, even though she was the one who came up with it - but she was nonetheless hesitant to follow through with the plan.

~’.’~Two Weeks Prior~’.’~

Soft whispers slithered beneath the door that led to the library. They could only be heard if one were to be standing directly outside of the door, and it was almost necessary to press one’s ear to said door in order to actually understand what was being said.

Not that there was anyone to listen to the discussion. Sun and Moon were currently overwatching the Earth, as they did at that exact time each and every new day, and The Senior Star was currently assisting them in their Earthly decisions. The Junior Star was at her side, attempting to intake any new knowledge to be gained from the actions that his more powerful Godly comrades were performing.

Now who, one may wonder, was making such noise in the library?

There could only be one group of culprits behind it; the four children of the Sun and the Moon.

The very embodiment of the Seasons themselves.

Beyond the large oaken door, the children of the Gods sat on the comfortable furniture within. The two eldest were on one couch, while the two youngest had taken seats on the armchairs on either side of the larger furniture. Harmonix had taken the liberty to start a fire in the massively beautiful fireplace that adorned the equally gorgeous library, which was quadruple the size of the area that they were currently nestled in, and she folded her legs beneath her bottom on the chair, tucking her skirt underneath her shins in an ever-present drive at modesty. A mug of her equally ever-present hot chocolate, decorated with whipped cream, marshmallows, and sprinkles of cinnamon, was clasped firmly between her oddly cold palms, which were damp with a nervous sweat. The same wetness was sprinkled across her hairline, both along her forehead and the nape of her neck, and a small tremble of anxiety resided in her grip. In addition, she was doing her bad habit of bouncing slightly as she sat, constantly shifting her weight in an obvious attempt to get comfortable, despite it being a futile effort.

After several moments of silence had ticked by, Harmony, obviously too nervous to start the discussion of why she had asked her siblings to join her in the library, squirmed a bit until her sister spoke.

”Harmy, I understand that you’re nervous, but you should know by now that there’s no need for you to feel that way around us. Whatever’s bothering you - whatever’s weighing on your mind - just speak.” Her voice was gentle, almost a coo, in an obvious attempt to draw her shy younger sister slightly more out of her shell.

In response, Harmony fidgeted a bit more for a moment longer, before forcing herself to settle and heaving a sigh. After a long sip of her delicious cocoa, she lowered her feet to the floor and leaned forward, setting the mug on the coffee table before her. She dropped her hands to her knees, drew in a long breath in preparation, and in one long heave, blurted out what she had rehearsed at least thirty-two times in her mind.

”I … I want to go and visit Earth!”

Almost instantly the girl squeezed her eyes shut, her shoulders hunching in readiness for her siblings expected outbursts of rejection at her wish. When nothing was immediately said, she slowly allowed herself to pry open one eye, and then another when she noticed the blank stares of surprise from her brothers and sister. Squirming a bit under their piercing gazes - they all had equally beautiful eyes in her mind, and ones that could unsettle even the most rigid of people - she gnawed on her lower lip, looking down at her hands on her legs. Her fingers were curled inwards, digging into the flesh of her knees, and she was bouncing her one foot anxiously.

A few more beats of silence passed before anyone spoke, and it was one word.

”No.”

Harmony’s head snapped up, her heart stopping for a brief moment before skipping a beat and regaining its regular pattern. Her eyes met her older brother’s gaze, which was dark and stern, unrelenting in its own way.

”But, Phoebus, at least let me explain wh-”

”No. Absolutely not. This shouldn’t even be up for discussion, Harmonix,” he interrupted, not even allowing her to finish her sentence. Her eyes welled up with tears in immediate response, and she lowered her head once more, her action holding all of the defeat she felt. She had known it was a long shot from the beginning, getting her siblings on board with her idea, but to be shot down so quickly and so assuredly definitely stung.

A soft scoff was heard from the girl that sat beside Phoebus. Her cotton candy hair was illuminated in the glow of the fire, and an eye roll could be seen.

”Oh, come on, Phoebus. At least let her explain why she wants to visit Earth. You can’t just shoot down what she says without allowing her to tell us why she would want to do it. Harmony very rarely speaks her mind about issues that she knows are controversial, so you can at least respect her courage to do so right now, given the subject.”

Harmony glanced up slightly, looking at her sister through her lashes, her gaze holding the gratitude she felt towards the older girl. Aurora definitely wasn’t wrong, though; very rarely would Harmony bring up a subject or idea that she knew would cause an argument or negativity of any sort, so when she did, it was usually for a good reason.

Turning her gaze to her older brother, she allowed her eyes to take on a puppy-dog look, and she jutted out her lower lip. This was her signature expression - something that she reserved only for times that she really wanted something - and her older brother instantly melted like butter.

Quickly averting his own eyes from hers, he looked away, his pale cheeks taking on a soft flush.

”By the stars above, Har - not the eyes,” he groaned. He flicked a glance at the girl, only to find that she was still holding the same expression, and slapping his hand over his eyes, he slowly dragged it down his face before heaving a loud sigh.

”Fine, I’ll at least listen to this insane idea that you’ve come up with,” he muttered.

Instantly Harmony brightened, her puppy dog look diminishing, and she leaned forward, her previous nervousness replaced with obvious excitement. A twinkle shone in her eye, and she had a gentle smile on her lips. She still did, however, speak with hesitancy, a slight stutter taking away some of the confidence she felt.

”I … I’m hoping that if I were to go to Earth … That it could maybe help me come to terms with everything that’s happened since … Since the incident,” she finished, her voice ending almost in a murmur. What little courage she felt when she began speaking had quickly faded as she finished, and she felt her shoulders slightly slump with dejection. She picked at her fingernails, suddenly extremely fascinated with her hands.

”I know that … I know that I’ve caused a lot of unnecessary trouble and problems over the years, ever since that day when we were children … And I know that because of what happened, I’ve changed a lot as a person ...” She trailed off for a moment, having to pause to garner a bit of bravery. Turning her face back upwards, she met each one of her siblings gazes before continuing.

”I’ve been keeping it hidden as much as possible, but recently … Recently, what Astraea did to help me contain Phoenix … The walls that she built to help seal my two separate minds, or identities, or whatever you want to call them … I can feel them beginning to crumble,” she said softly, her shoulders once more slumped, but this time instead of the cause being defeat, it was more so worry or fear. She pressed her lips together for a moment before continuing.

”I … I’m really scared,” she whispered, tears prickling at her eyes. ”I’m scared of what will happen if those walls disappear completely, and Phoenix is allowed out and into the physical world once more. I don’t expect any of you to understand … You’ve never had anything like this happen before … But I ...” Drawing in a shaky breath, she felt a ball of anxiety curl in her chest. ”I can hear her … I can hear her voice, in the very back of my mind, hiding behind those walls. She keeps telling me to do things … Things that I know I shouldn’t do, but things that I really want to do. So far I’ve been able to ignore her and push down my urge to do what she says, but … But I’m afraid of what might happen if I can’t get a handle on her.”

There was a lapse in words being said, before Phoebus once more spoke, his voice slightly heavy, given the equal weight of the current conversation.

”And how do we know that it isn’t Phoenix’s idea for us to go to Earth? How do we know that this is actually your own idea, Harmonix?”

Harmony hesitated before slowly responding.

”I just … It might be hard for me to resist the temptation that she gives me to do certain things, and I may not have been able to discern my thoughts and her thoughts before Astraea helped me, but … Right now, I can tell which thoughts are mine and which are hers. I don’t really know how to explain how I can, but … But I can. And on that, you’ll just have to trust me, Phoebus.”

Another moment of silence ticked by - there seemed to be a lot of those during this discussion, Harmony idly thought - before anyone responded to her words.

”I think … That if you think that it’s a good idea, and if you think that it really will help you … That we should do it.”

Harmony turned her gaze to her younger brother, her lower lip trembling slightly. She had known before even asking for her siblings to meet her that out of all of them, Halcyon was most likely to support what she thought was best, and he had definitely proved her correct in that assumption.

Turning back to her older siblings, she looked at them with her wide, umber eyes, which spoke volumes over her expectation for an answer. Aurora was studying her nails, and while filing at the tip of one of her index fingers, she shrugged and spoke.

”I think that if you think that it can help you, and that you can handle it, we should at least give it a shot. Who knows? Maybe it’ll prove beneficial for all of us. Wouldn’t you agree, Phoebus?” she dragged out, purposely doing so in order to annoy him.

The boy in question narrowed his eyes slightly at his older sister, a soft growl of sorts escaping his lips, before he turned to Harmony, his gaze a smidge less stern than it was before. After several calculated moments, during which time she could practically see the gears turning in her older brother’s head, he spoke.

”Seeing as I’m clearly outnumbered, I’ll have to say yes. What kind of brother would I be to just let all of you run rampant down on Earth? Someone has to be down there to corral you,” he sighed, rubbing his temples.

Harmony immediately brightened, her skin taking on a slightly golden glow, and she was across the gap between them in seconds, her arms thrown around her older brother’s neck.

”Thank you, Phoebus … You … You have no idea what this means to me,” she whispered into his neck, her tears soaking into his long hair.

Shaking her head to rid it of those thoughts, she smiled at the Assistant Headmaster and adjusted the strap of the bag on her shoulder. She strode after her, idly turning her head slightly to look forlornly out the window, inhaling deeply in an effort to gather herself.

The sun was shining brightly through the clear window, giving the interior of the building an ethereal glow. Dust mites danced in the sun’s rays, and for a moment, she felt an unwanted sadness in her chest.

Somewhere, far up in the sky and even further beyond that, her parents were looking down at the world below. She could picture her mother, wringing her hands and a worried crease between her brows, and her father pacing with long strides across the hall that enclosed the enormous, hologram-like image that showed them the entirety of the planet. It was used to view in on any place at any time, past, present, or future, and to interact with said reality. There were many times that her parents had altered the past in order to benefit the future - they went back and prevented world-wide catastrophes.

Why, then, did they allow certain events to occur? Why did they allow countless lives to be lost to the hands of evil humans who wished nothing but death upon the masses?

It was all for a better goal.

To think that they enjoyed watching the humans suffer - you couldn’t be further from the truth. Countless times had Harmonix ventured into the great hall, as a young child and beyond, to find her mother weeping over the hologram of the beautiful planet. She had seen unimaginable things in that hologram, and heard screams that still echoed in her ears to this very day. As soon as her parents spotted her they would shoo her away fairly quickly, of course, but that didn’t stop her from seeing things.

People being torn limb-from-limb by ancient Roman Gladiators.

Children being burned alive alongside their parents during the European Witch Trials.

Animals being killed by toxic chemicals sprayed down upon the humans by large flying machines from above.

Tears pricked at her eyes at the memories, and she squeezed the large umber orbs shut in an attempt to stem their flow, and to shield herself from the visuals flashing before her eyes.

Closing them only prevented herself from seeing, however. It didn’t slow what she could hear, not by a long shot; and the screams continued to echo inside of her mind. Pausing midstep, she dropped her face into the palm of her hand, pressing it against her forehead and letting out a soft moan of pain.

“Stop ... Stop it, please ...” she whispered, her lips a slight grimace.

After a few moments, the screams slowly faded and she had managed to calm her rapid breathing, having only just then realized how quickly she was panting.

“Ms. Orako? Are you quite alright my dear?”

Removing her hand, Velonix turned a small, slightly strained smile up to the woman. “I am alright, my apologies. My head pains me slightly is all,” she breathed out, resuming her stride. The Assistant Headmaster smiled once more and continued her walk as well, and they moved in silence for another minute or two before she paused outside a set of wooden doors.

“Right through here, my dear.”

With a slight nudge the door slid open and Velonix let herself in, announcing her presence as she entered. “Good morning Headmaster. My name is Velonix Orako and it is quite a pleasure to be of your acquaintance.” The Headmaster let out a chuckle, reaching out to pat her hand. “You may drop the formalities, dear, as I have no need for them.” Motioning for her to sit, she did so and he did the same, clasping his hands on the desk before him.

“Your siblings were quite pleasant to meet, and I can already tell from your demeanor that you’re no different,” he began, offering her a kind smile. “I do like to take the chance to personally meet each of my new students at least once - I believe it helps take away some of the frightening nature that comes with my title,” he chuckled, a slight twinkle in his eye. “Nothing to worry too much about, of course. As I tell everyone, I do hope you enjoy and value your time here, and take what you can from this place of learning. If you run into any problems or have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask for help, even if it’s from me directly.”

Velonix nodded, a gentle smile on her face, and rose once more while adjusting the bag strap on her shoulder. “Thank you, Headmaster. I appreciate the sentiments,” she said softly, bending forward slightly at the waist in respect. When she straightened again, she gave him another small smile. “Have a pleasant rest of your day.” The kind old man gave her a smile and nod in response, and she turned on her heel and quickly made her way out of the office, pausing once she had closed the door behind her. Letting out a small breath, she groaned a bit. That was stressful and she was more than glad to be over with it. Social interactions, specifically with strangers, weren’t really her forte and she’d much rather observe from the sidelines than be the sole focus in someone’s conversation.

Standing tall once more, she gathered herself together and began to walk while also pulling the map of the school grounds that was provided for her to navigate more easily. It was already two weeks into the second semester, Summer Break having just come to an end, so they weren’t transferring in frighteningly late thankfully. They would stand out a bit but no more than normal transfer students.

She flicked her eyes down to her map, pausing mid step to gather her bearings. Once she had figured out where she was, she pushed through the doors into a small side-courtyard on the side of the school. Inhaling the smells of nature deeply she followed through with a satisfied sigh, the tiniest of smiles turning up the corners of her lips. A small pond was situated nearby with an empty bench, and further down the path led to the back of the school building, shrouded prettily by the dense leaves of the orange and yellow trees that hung above it. She assumed it would feel nice on a hot summer day and looked forward to finding out if that was the case in a few months - hopefully they would still be there.

As she walked, Velonix tilted her head back ever so slightly towards the leaves, admiring their pretty, calming colors. A gentle breeze caused them to sway a bit, small dashes of sunlight peeking through every so often. The combination of everything brought a soft wave of serenity over her, and for the moment, she was content.

Until she found herself slamming directly into a wall obviously made from a person. Having not been paying attention to where she was walking, she had slammed into the person fairly hard, causing her to stumble back and nearly fall. She somehow managed to catch herself, albeit clumsily, and felt a small warmth of embarrassment seep into her cheeks. Velonix scrambled to straighten and bowed quickly, her hands clasped before her and her braided orange hair falling over her shoulder. “I-I apologize! I did not mean to bump into you! It was all my fault - I was not paying attention to where I was walking!” she breathed out quickly. Once she had finished her apology, she glanced up slightly to see who it was that she had bumped into, and straightened rather quickly when she found it to be two teenage boys wearing the school uniform. A bit of anxiety fluttered in the pit of her stomach but she cleared her throat and clutched the strap of her bag in an effort to ground herself. The boys gave each other a look before small smirks grew on their faces. The one that she had run into leaned slightly to the side to peer into her face as she was quite short as a girl, his own face getting uncomfortably close to hers. It was almost close enough for her to feel his breath on her cheeks and his dark eyes held an odd gleam to them that made her uncomfortable. The colors that glowed ever-so-lightly off of his skin were dark and coiled together with streaks of black and red, and when she noticed his aura a small shiver crawled across her body, goosebumps breaking out. He wasn’t evil by any means - at least not yet - but this type of aura was only associated with those who enjoyed being cruel. Not psychopaths or sociopaths, persay - just people who got off on being, to put it crudely, assholes. Velonix, however, preferred a more gentle route instead of violence and cruelty, so when faced with someone such as this, she grew into a nervous puddle.

“Well hey there …” his voice curled. He definitely had nice enough features, but they were marred with the underlying viciousness that he held about him. When Vel took a step back out of simple reaction it drew a chuckle from his friend who leaned against a bike rack a few feet away, hands shoved in his pockets. The two boys were clearly delinquents, as they wore their uniforms in rumpled messes, necklines popped open and jackets slung over their bikes. He held a similar air to him but not quite as dark, and she felt an instinctive curl of her toes in reactive fear. Tightening her grip on her bag and drawing into herself a bit, she attempted to shy away from him. With each small step she took back though, he seemed to follow with one that was slightly larger, until he had her cornered against the side of the building, hand planted firmly on the wall above her shoulder. Her skin crawled as his body drew a bit too close to her for comfort and she shrank away a bit more, a small tremble beginning in her legs. This drew an amused chuckle from the boy and he tilted his head a bit more, his tongue slightly licking his lips.

“My, my, my … Aren’t you a cute one .. You’d think I’d remember seeing you before,” he drawled out, tilting his head to the other side as he spoke. “Or are you one of the new transfer students that moved to town and took her sweet time joining us?” he inquired, his gloved hand lifting slightly. She supposed he thought he was ‘cool’ to wear gloves. “Well, I guess you were worth the wait for being able to see the mysterious new students … Because you’re real nice on the eyes,” he murmured, leaning even closer to her and lightly brushing his finger across her cheek and over her hair. He began to follow it down, causing her tremble of fear to overtake her upper body as well. She knew very well that if needed she could defend herself and that this boy didn’t stand a chance, but her years of courage and pride were long past. Even though she knew she was capable of taking care of herself, it was a very difficult thing for her to do as she feared losing control, so not only was she in fear of the current situation, but she was in fear of defending herself and losing herself at the same time.

A small burst of courage slid through her and she grasped at it desperately, flinging her hand up to slap his away from her face with a loud smack. “Do not touch me,” she snapped, attempting to push past his arm at the same time. Before she could get through, however, he snagged her wrist and yanked her back, his other arm twining around her waist. The touch made her skin crawl with disgust and a new wave of fear assaulted her. Despite her Senior Star’s suppression, a familiar feeling of acute terror washed over her when he touched her, his hand sliding slightly under her school shirt and grazing the skin of her stomach. She locked up for a moment before struggling against his grasp, all the while his friend laughing softly nearby. His one hand rose to clamp over her mouth, the same smirk on his face.

“I like them feisty,” he curled out, his smirk turning slightly sadistic. Her eyes widened, her sounds of protest muffled against his palm. “Playing hard to get, hm?” he drawled, pinning her once more between the wall and his body. Tears pricked her eyes as buried emotions from that time so long ago rose up and an innate sorrow filled her chest, a new bundle of fear hitting her stomach as the boy began to move his face down towards hers. She didn’t want this disgusting human boy’s mouth to touch her - she didn’t want any of him to touch her. ”Let me go or else I will scream,” she warned him, her voice low and dark, holding undertones promising things that he could not ever wish for. A small burning sensation began to broil within her chest, her eyes beginning to take on a slightly-red, somewhat-glowing hue. Her fingers curled inwards, clenching into fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. The ends of her hair picked up slightly in the breeze which began to swirl a bit more aggressively than before, and she felt her jaw clench in preparation for the release of her abilities.

Oceans and countries away, in a small yet comfortable cottage on the outskirts of a village in the beautiful land of Iceland, stood an ethereal woman. She was bent over at the waist, her unnaturally beautiful features furrowed in deep thought and concentration, and a large world map splayed out on the even more impressively sized table before her. Random objects that she had found throughout the cottage held the enormous paper in place, and the map in question had several markings on it ranging from large red x’s to small, neat handwriting with various notes. The entire continent involving the Americas was completely crossed out, and the woman murmured a bit under her breath as she traced lines from country to country.

After a few minutes of this deep thought process, Astraea let out a noise of frustration and pushed back from the table, unable to bear looking at the map any longer. She had been searching for the Seasons nonstop for nearly two weeks now, and it almost seemed as though she was no closer to finding them than she was when she began. She had managed to at least narrow it down so that she knew that they were not in the western hemisphere, and now was moving onto the countries in the East, hence her current location in Iceland. She had to admit that out of all of the lands that she had visited so far on Earth, Iceland was one of the best, if simply due to the scenery and climate.

A few short strides brought her to the kitchen, where she began the process of making a mug of hot chocolate. As she worked, Astraea mulled over the possible places that the Seasons could have run off to, as well as how much Pavo had been of help over the last few weeks. She had to admit, the boy was getting better at his job. Now, if only he took it a bit more seriously, then he could be nearly perfect.

As if on cue, a light rap came at the front door of her quaint cottage, and it took her no time at all to cross to the front door. Without a care in the world, she tossed it open and immediately was forced to tilt her head almost completely back in order to meet the gaze of the man before her. Despite herself, she found her own oddly-sapphired eyes lingering on the intensely-crimson gaze that belonged to none other than Pavo, and she felt an odd little jolt in her chest at the sight of him after a mere few days apart. Had she truly grown so accustomed to having the man at her side that a few days was difficult for her? No, surely that couldn’t be it. It had to be something else - there was no way that she could be that attached to him.

Shaking off the thoughts, Astraea wrenched her gaze away as she turned to allow him entry into the cottage. Once inside, she gently shut the door and strode past him to the kitchen once more, retrieving her hot chocolate before she joined him in the living area. She took a few sips before offering it to him, as though it were the most natural thing in the world for her to share her drinks with him - it wasn’t out of the ordinary, they did work together constantly for the last hundred years or so after all, give or take - so it wasn’t unexpected for them to become close in some way or another.

One for few words, Astraea approached the table with the map once more, plucked up a red sharpie and held it in Pavo’s direction.

”I assume that they were not in Greenland?” she said simply, phrasing it as a question but clearly meaning it as a statement instead.

Pavo wasn't in the greatest of moods as he stepped off the airplane. He had just gotten back from the terribly cold country of "Green"land. Seriously, what was up with the founders of that area? It was more icy than green! In fact, the country he was now it would have fit the name much better and Greenland should have been called Iceland. Most of the place was within the Artic circle anyway. Still complaining about the country's name wasn't what made him sour, it was the fact he didn't find the Seasons there.
Of course it was unlikely, but his superior, the Senior Star, Astraea, made a good point in saying the Seasons could have wanted to find an isolated place. At the time Pavo had no argument against it, but now having been there, he did. There was NO way someone like Phoebus would have tolerated a place THAT cold. It was pretty darn sure that the Seasons weren't in anywhere in the Artic circle. Then again, who knew how the Seasons would affect a place they settled in.

That's when an idea came into Pavo's head. Maybe they were going about this the wrong way? Suddenly perking up, Pavo went to where he parked the rental car and headed straight for the house he shared with Astraea. He just hoped she would be open to this idea. He still remembered the looks of the Sun and Moon right before the two left for earth. Both were very distraught, especially Moon, Audra. Both wanted all four found and brought back ASAP. Pavo didn't mention it, but he wasn't in full agreement. He knew they were worried about the safety of the Seasons, especially Harmonix, but he knew the Seasons were capable of taking care of themselves and Earth was a fun place to be. Despite the mission he was on, Pavo did enjoy being back on Earth. It was so vastly different from when he was a human. The fact that there was no worldwide war was a plus, but there were still problems in other areas, especially in the Middle East. Those were places both Stars agreed the Seasons would be at, places of conflict.

It took him another hour but he finally got back to "headquarters". Knocking on the door, it didn't take long for Astraea long to open the door. He must have looked tired for she remained silent before offering him a cup of hot chocolate. Grateful, he took the cup and took a sip before handing it back to her. Soon she headed for a map, picked up a sharpie, and handed it to him.

”I assume that they were not in Greenland?”

Not saying a word, Pavo simply put a big red X over the whole area.

"Let's just say it be suicide for Phoebus to be there, so yes. I'd like to think I am tolerant of cold weather, but even that place tested my limits. I think we can eliminate ANY place within the Artic Circle. Also, I just got an idea that could help us in this search. Going from continent from West to East isn't working. So here's what I thought of. Why not look online to see if there's ANY abnormal weather in the world. For all we know, a town could be experiencing more than 1 season in it's area.
You told me that when Harmonix traveled to Earth one time, part of its season changed right?"

Pavo really hoped Astraea listened to him this time.

Astraea watched in unsurprised dismay as Pavo rather purposefully made a large, bold X over Greenland. When he spoke, she felt an ache in her chest - something that she did not feel often.

"Let's just say it’d be suicide for Phoebus to be there, so yes. I'd like to think I am tolerant of cold weather, but even that place tested my limits. I think we can eliminate ANY place within the Artic Circle. Also, I just got an idea that could help us in this search. Going from continent to continent West to East isn't working. So here's what I thought of. Why not look online to see if there's any abnormal weather in the world. For all we know, a town could be experiencing more than 1 season in it's area. You told me that when Harmonix traveled to Earth one time, part of its season changed right?"

The idea was good, she had to give him that. She paused as she mulled it over, tapping her chin idly in thought - a trait that she had rubbed off onto Harmonix, and she did not mind - the girl was adorable. A sip of hot cocoa and she sighed, rubbing the mug idly with her thumb.

So far they had made little progress in their efforts to locate the Seasons, and despite it having been a mere two weeks, it was difficult for Astraea to admit her lack of headway in the matter, and even more difficult still to mask her concern over the Seasons wellbeing.

A soft tap could be heard as she set the mug onto the table beside the map. She placed her hands on the edge of the table and leaned over it, eyes darting across the paper as though it could give her any more clues as to where her beloved Seasons could be.

”Fine,” came her soft response after several moments of intense silence had ticked by. Her head drooped a bit and she moved so that she rested with one hand against the table, her other rubbing at the bridge of her nose. Her expression a bit strained with stress - she had not slept in two days - she lowered her hand and shook her head. ”I just do not understand why they would do this.” Her voice was a worried whisper, and if she did not know any better, she would say that those were tears threatening to spill from her eyes. Fighting off the sensation, she rubbed her face a bit and forced her expression to return to placidity, fixating an intense gaze on Pavo. ”Apologies. It has been a stressful two weeks and I have not been sleeping well. I am certain that you are just as tired, though. I will … I will retire first,” she said quietly. With that said, she scooped up her mug and retreated to the kitchen, where she quickly rinsed the remnants of hot chocolate from it. Once that was done, she placed it in the dishwasher before making her way to the one bathroom that they shared, resting between their rooms.

It was easy enough to gather a robe and towel from her bedroom before entering the bathroom, and once inside she quickly flipped on the shower. She stripped down, shivering as the chilly bathroom air hit her bare skin, and slipped into the shower.

Her shower was quick but luxurious, and Astraea soon found herself leaving the bathroom, wrapped in her warm fluffy robe and toweling her hair dry, which was currently long enough to reach her ankles. She really should cut it soon, she thought idly to herself as she padded towards the kitchen for a glass of water.

Pavo remained silent as Astraea paced. He knew she was thinking and seemed to be taking in his suggestion. It was a nice surprise when she did agree with him. Her next words though brought a small smile to his face, only because it was rare for Astraea to talk about her personal feelings. It also brought about a sense of worry too. Her confusion on why the Seasons would do this suddenly was palpable. Pavo already had his guesses and didn't have any issues mentioning one of them.

"Maybe they wanted to experience Earth for themselves? We'll know for sure when we find them."

He deliberately said 'when' and not if.

"Hey, at least they left after Aurora and Harmonix brought about spring and fall to the world," he added, trying to perk the Senior star up.

Astraea apologized for her behavior and decided to turn in. Pavo was surprised she stayed up this late for it was past midnight.
He himself was exhausted but did a good job of masking it. He was still in the kitchen when Astraea came back in nothing but a robe and got a glass of water. He'd be lying if he didn't admit to himself, he was distracted by her. She was so casual about it too.
Pavo always had an active imagination and right now his mind was thinking of things his superior would NOT want to know about.
Under normal circumstances he would have tried flirting with her, but the situation was far from normal, and it was clear she was stressed out too, so Pavo would bide his time. Still he couldn't help but keep looking at her with an intense look. He would retain his manners though, just like his mother taught him.

"Night Astraea."

After she left, he too went about getting ready for bed. Taking a shower himself, he only put on some boxers before going to bed.

Reiya was writing down notes when the other new student suddenly came into the classroom. Her initial reaction was shock; the guy had white hair? How was that even possible? Unless he dyed it, which was certainly possible, but Reiya knew that at this school, dying one's hair was prohibited and all new students were given handbooks for the rules PRIOR to starting. Her initial shock soon subsided as the teacher interacted with him. So, this was Velonix's brother? She wondered if they were twins since they were in the same class. They looked nothing alike though. Maybe one or both of them were adopted? All of these questions swirled in Reiya's head but she knew she would never ask them for that was too personal.

The guy introduced himself was Kazuyuki Orako and that was pretty much it. No list of interests like his sister, nothing. He definitely seemed to be the quiet type. It was only then that Reiya saw just how gorgeous he was and could feel her cheeks blushing a bit because she HAD been staring.

Scolding herself mentally, she tried refocusing on the class, but that was hard considering Kazuyuki ended up sitting right next to her. Her attention was diverted when Velonix teased her brother for being late before apologizing to her.

"Oh . . it's okay," she said softly, not wanting to draw attention to herself.

She made a valiant effort to focus on class and managed to do so for the rest of the period but couldn't help but giving Kazuyuki a quick glance now and then. Finally, class was over and as Reiya started to get ready for the next class, several girls approached Velonix and were 'gracious' enough to 'invite' her to sit with them for lunch. Reiya resisted rolling her eyes. The same group invited her once and just out of pure curiosity, she did and it was the most boring experience of her life for the girls were very dull-witted, despite TRYING to be smart. They pretty much left her alone when realizing she could speak circles around them intellectually. The only reason Reiya wasn't completely ostracized like poor Kazutora was basically due to her family name, which carried some weight in the business world because her parents' legacy in the medical industry. Thinking about them always brought a wave of sadness over her. Two years and she still sometimes expected to see them when she got home from school. It was getting 'easier', but she knew she would always miss them.

In the meantime she kept listening to the banter between Velonix and the girls and was very impressed on how she handled him. She glanced at Kazutora to see his reaction and he looked really embarrassed, especially when Velonix said she was going to eat lunch with him. When the girls FINALLY left, Reiya decided to finally introduce herself before the next teacher came in.

"Um, hi, I am Reiya . . . Goertz. I hope you don't mind that I moved over here, but there's a reason for that," she said before turning to Kazutora, "I promised Iphi that I would keep an eye out for you more since she knows we're in the same class this year. I am sorry I haven't tried harder in the past. You're very intimidating."

Seeing the look on Velonix's face, Reiya explained, "Iphi is a mutual friend of ours. She goes to the college next to us. If you hang around Kazutora long enough, you just might meet her one day."

With that, Reiya turned around as the next teacher came in. This one she didn't like, but wasn't bound to say anything.

”We might be the master of our own thoughts,
still we are the slaves of our own emotions."
~Unknown

Instead of sleeping - instead of receiving the much-needed rest that the mortal form that she had acquired required of her - Astraea worked. She found her mind, for the first time in a long time within her equally drawn-out life, restless and uneasy. It raced with thoughts that clouded her thoughts and if she wasn’t careful, she felt that she would soon be drowning within the darkness there. So, instead of sleeping and welcoming the dreams that the ‘humans’ so enjoyed and feared at the same time, she worked.

Settled into bed but sitting up, she tucked her blanket around her legs. She had disrobed and instead drawn on a pair of shorts and a tank top, going for comfort over fashion, and with her blanket tucked around her legs to keep the chill away, she plopped her laptop on her lap. They were nifty devices, these computers and the internet. At least the humans are good for something, she snorted a bit at the thought. As if the humans were good for anything other than trouble and misery.

As she searched the web - This is such an interesting creation - she mulled over the different ideas that were swarming her thoughts of where to look and how to approach the search. Pavo had a point, she reasoned, and before she knew what she was doing, Astraea had begun to search for abnormalities in climates across the planet.

After a couple of hours - and some much wasted frustration - she had managed to narrow down their search to specific areas within Europe, Asia, and Australia. Each continent had experienced some abnormality or another in different locations throughout, but many of them could be attributed to simple climate change. Further research would be necessary, but at least it was progress. Notepad in hand and excitement visible in her features - she really needed this boost - Astraea found herself padding quickly from her room, across the small hallway, and fist raised to the door to knock lightly on it.

Face down looking at her notes, before the door could even open, ”Pavo, you will never guess what I figured out! I managed to narrow it down to areas within Europe, Asia, and Australia. That cut our search nearly in half!” she rushed out breathlessly, her cheeks flushed a bit in her excitement. She wasn’t quite used to taking on her human form and what that could entail, much of which was her body’s reaction to different emotions, and she found her heart racing along with her mind. Finally, the door opened, causing Astraea to turn her face up, head tilted back ridiculously far so as to see the face of the one revealed by the door - a sleepy and slightly disheveled Pavo. Despite his tired state, Astraea felt a drop in her stomach, her heart quickening a bit more at the sight, specifically his shirtless and boxer-ridden condition. She felt her eyes snag unbidden on his torso, in particular their muscled shape. Her cheeks reddened considerably, a look that was foreign to her cherubic cheeks, and she bit her lip a tad. Confusion warred within her, for she couldn't wrap her head around her body's reaction to this sight. Why? was all that echoed within her mind. Quickly, she dropped her head once more, her neck thanking her as she did, and she hid her face back in her notepad.

Freaking human body, making me feel things that I definitely do not understand, she internally grumbled.

”Ahem - as I was saying, I managed to narrow it down to certain areas within Europe, Asia, and Australia. Tomorrow we can discuss it a bit more as well as look further into these areas, but I couldn’t seem to fall asleep tonight so … Anyway, apologies for waking you. I was … Excited,” she finished on a murmur, sheepish in her demeanor.

Pavo was deeply asleep but had learn to wake in an instant. Even though he wasn't human anymore, he still retained some of his human habits, and the ability to wake up instantly was one of them. It was something he picked out during WWII when he joined the rebellion. You always had to watch your back for you never know when you had to move, so sleep became a precious commodity. Another trait he still carried though, was the fact that he was a crabby person when woken up suddenly, like right now.
He didn't even fully pick up what Astraea said, only that he heard his name. Someone was certainly excited. Groaning, Pavo got up slowly. He was so out of it that he didn't even bother to put on a shirt or brush his hair. So when opened the door, he was still only in his boxers, which had red hearts and silver stars all over it. He scowled when the lights hit his eyes too.

Looking at Astraea though, he saw her demeanor change from excited to demure as she noticed his own physical state. It wouldn't be the first time he got such a reaction out of a woman. After all when he had time, he did indulge in the human women of this planet, but those were quick 'one-night stands'. In the USA, the women there practically melted the moment he opened his mouth and his French accent hooked them in. When Astraea's eyes finally rested on his face and not his torso, he managed to smile. Her reaction certainly put him in a better mood instantly. All too soon though, she hid her face behind her notepad and told him she managed to narrow down their search.

Looks like she took his suggestion to heart, which pleased Pavo. He was glad they were making headway too. The question now to be where to go from there. However before saying what he was thinking, he said something else.

"It's no problem, Astraea. I don't blame you for getting excited. And um, technically it is tomorrow, so if you want to keep on talking about it, by all means go for it. By the way, would you like for me to put on a shirt?" he asked smiling mischievously.

Before Iphianassa could answer Kazumi's question, the other guy from their previous class showed up and addressed the dark hair student. Kazumi liked the nickname he gave her, it was cute. Looking at the blue hair guy, what was his name again?, oh, Mafuyu Hanazawa, she very much liked his interaction with Iphianassa. Their interplay reminded her of her relationship with Natsuo. Soon Mafuyu addressed her and Natsuo. Smiling, Kazumi answered him.

"It's nice to see you too! I'll be honest, I am looking forward to this class more then I was the last one."

Soon the subject seemed to get serious when Iphi started talking about an ex-boyfriend of hers. Kazumi wondered if Natsuo was listening. She looked at her brother, and while it seemed like he wasn't paying attention, she saw how his eyes had darken to the point of looking black. Oh dear, that was never a good sign. Natsuo might not show it, but he had a high sense of honor and anyone without was a pest at best in his eyes. And hurting women was one of his biggest pet peeves and a quick way to ignite his anger. It sounded like Iphi had a stalker on her hands and that was even worse. Kazumi could feel her own inner rage growing, but took a deep breath and decided to try and calm down Natsuo.

Without saying a word, Kazumi got out of her seat, and placed a hand on his cheek. His eyes opened wide and he looked at his older sister and saw her sad smile. He then realized just how close he was to losing it. Last thing he needed to do was blow their cover and the last time he lost control of himself, it has caused the Dust Bowl that devastated the USA during the 1930s. He felt such shame for that and it was one of his biggest regrets. Immediately he pinpointed was almost set him off, it was learning that Ms. Lykaois had an ex that just would not leave her alone. Taking a deep breath himself, he patted his sister's hand to let her know he was back in control. Nodding, Kazumi returned to her seat. Both looked at Iphi's ex after seeing her look at him. Both already knew they were going to keep an extra eye on him now. When Iphi told the guy off, Kazumi actually laughed, which earned her a few looks from her fellow classmates. Natsuo grinned himself. The girl certainly had spunk. He admired those who stood up for themselves so his opinion of her improved a bit.

Finally Iphi answered Kazumi's question. The girl was clearly flustered by the compliments, and it did amuse Kazumi and Natsuo because one minute she had a strong backbone and the next she acted like a bashful teenager.

"It's obvious your last name isn't Japanese, and I just love learning about the world. Hey can I call you Iphi too?
You have such a pretty name that I worry I would butcher it."

However the girl didn't have time to answer since class started up. Kazumi was relieved that this class was more interesting then the last one. Still there were times she almost found herself falling asleep. Still it was better to be bored then to be irritated by the subject matter. Thankfully this was to be her last 'boring' class.

Soon class ended, and thankfully this time not many students came to their area. However, both Kazumi and Natsuo watched Iphi's ex and could see he was looking at Iphi. Both got their things together quickly and ended up sticking to her side. What they weren't expecting was for Iphi to suddenly grab Natsuo and say something about inviting her for lunch, rather loudly. Natsuo was genuinely shocked at the physical contact and Kazumi laughed. It was obvious she wanted to get away from her ex and Kazumi played along right along.

"Sure thing Iphi! Why don't you show Natsuo where the best place to eat is hmm?"

An idea popped into her head too. She wanted to know more about the girl's ex, but thought it wasn't a good idea to ask the girl herself. Mafuyu seemed to know about him though. Turning she immediately when to the guy.

"Say, can I ask you something very quick? This won't take long at all!" she said before taking his wrist and dragged him out of the classroom, winking at Natsuo on her way out.

Natsuo rolled his eyes at his sister's antics and turned to Iphianassa.

"Come on, let's get out of here," he said before leading the girl out of the room.

He couldn't help but turn and glare daggers at the ex though. One could tell what he was conveying too 'just try me pal'. When Natsuo got them out of the classroom, he still took the lead though and took her to place outside where there were no crowds.
Once outside, Natsuo felt better. Once alone, Natsuo addressed his classmate.

"I don't think your ex will find us here. The other day when exploring the campus I figured this was one of the places people don't visit much during lunch. Sorry, I guess I should have asked if you brought a lunch with you. I have some here, but it's pretty spicy." he said as he sat on the ground next to a tree and opened his own bento up to reveal his meal of traditional Japanese lunch of ramen, tempura, and veggies.

Only difference was all of the spice cooked into each. One thing Natsuo found lacking in Japanese cuisine was the lack of spices found here. Oh there was wasabi, but the stuff was very mild as far as Natsuo saw. Once nice thing about society was web access, so Natsuo ordered spices online from outside of Japan and got stuff from India and China. With his current meal, Chinese Chili peppers had been cooked in with each element.

Meanwhile, Kazumi had also led Mafuyu to a secluded area outside. She was so tired of being indoors.

"Sorry about that, I just wanted to ask you a question about Iphi's ex really quick. Was it the guy who kept looking at her throughout class and what's his name? I am just really curious and I'd figured you know that much about him. And if you're worried about Iphi being with my brother, I can assure you she's safe with him. Just this morning our younger sister was being harassed and Natsuo was ready to beat the crap out of the delinquents, but someone beat him to it. He really doesn't like guys who target girls. Anyway, I've jabbered on long enough. After you answer my question, you can be on your way and I'll go find Natsuo and Iphi."

"It's no problem, Astraea. I don't blame you for getting excited. And um, technically it is tomorrow, so if you want to keep on talking about it, by all means go for it. By the way, would you like for me to put on a shirt?"

Astraea bristled a bit - he had obviously noticed her reaction to his half-naked state, not that she had done much to hide it, but for some reason she only felt a little bothered by this. More than anything, what she was feeling was something that she could not quite name. It was something foreign, something new - something human - and she wasn’t quite sure if she liked it or not. As for Pavo, he was clearly amused by her response, and whether or not he had aimed for this type of reaction, she felt a small urge to punch him. In an attempt to refrain from doing that, however, she clutched her notepad tighter. Why did she have an urge to hit him over the way that his body made her feel? More importantly, why did her body feel this way?

Shaking off the thoughts, she moved the notepad down a bit to reveal her face despite its still-pink state. Fixating a calculating gaze on him, she mulled over how to answer. If she said yes, then he would be smug over the fact that his surprisingly attractive body had such an effect on her. However, if she said no, he would more than likely stay shirtless and she wouldn’t be able to concentrate entirely. Essentially, it was a matter of pride or progression. Plus, she felt herself not really wanting him to put a shirt on - How peculiar of a thought to have. Eventually, pride won out.

”That is not necessary. Whether you are fully clothed or not makes little difference to me,” but even as she spoke, she could feel her face heating up a bit more, the lie evident on her features. It so clearly made a difference, and despite her words she found herself regretting saying them. Did she ... Want to see him like this? But why though? He was her junior, nothing more and nothing less; she was obligated to train him to become the best Star and Guide that he can be, not fawn over him like some teenage girl. In an effort to hide this fact she turned away and strode towards the kitchen, intent on making them both a snack and something to drink. At this point, she was exhausted enough to partake in the human vice that was liquor - something that up until this point, she had only tried a few handful of times.

With that thought in mind, it took little time to retrieve the simple bottle of Bailey’s she had bought on a whim while shopping for groceries when she first arrived. It was easy enough to pop it open and pour them both a shot, at which point she almost seemed to smack it into the counter in offering to him. Her face half-turned away and still holding its rosy hue of embarrassment and attractivity, she held up her own small glass, awaiting him to tap his own against her rim.

”If we are going to be up all night, we may as well make the most of it … So cheers.” With that, she tossed the shot back in one gulp, letting out a small cough as she tapped the glass back onto the counter. This will take some getting used to.

Her hand rubbed absentmindedly at her upper arm, a small chill sliding across her. It was nice enough in Iceland, but the nights could become quite chilly and she found herself regretting her comfort of a tank top over something warmer, like a sweater. She would have to make due with the blanket in the living room for now.

After she had retrieved a box of cookies, she poured another shot, grabbed both the bottle and the glass, and with her notepad under her arm made her way out to the couch. With a small sound she plopped down onto it and placed her items on the coffee table.

”To be honest, I highly doubt that they would have gone to Australia. The country is well-known to have high temperatures throughout a majority of the year, so there is no way they would drag Halcyon into that climate. The boy would have a heat stroke within twenty minutes.” Her hand deftly removed the pen from where it sat on the spiral and with a quick stroke she had crossed out Australia. ”So that leaves us with Europe and Asia. I have no idea which place they would choose over the other; both have similar climates throughout and are beautiful and rich in both scenery and history. Unfortunately for us, that means we will have to comb through both countries until we find them.”

The sound of a bag crinkling could be heard as she removed two cookies, offering one to him without a second thought.

”That is not necessary. Whether you are fully clothed or not makes little difference to me."

'Really? Could have fooled me,' Pavo thought.

Astraea probably didn't like the physical reactions her body was showing. From what he knew about her, she liked being in total control. While he did come to admire her for her abilities and good leadership skills, it was nice to see her ruffled like this and made her more human to him, which he did enjoy. For now though he we continue to focus on what she wanted to do.

Watching her, he saw her get some alcohol out, Bailey's, and filled two shot glasses with them. Being French, of course he like alcohol, but he never had Bailey's before. Still the Irish fascinated him. Taking the 2nd glass, also drank the shot quickly after Astraea did. Man did that hit the spot and he was definitely awake now. Next Astraea grabbed a bag of cookies, and with her shot glass and the Bailey's, sat down on the couch. Taking his own shot glass, Pavo joined her.

Taking the Bailey's himself, he refilled his cup and took a cookie that Astraea offered him. While he definitely had better desserts, this would do. Drinking from his shot glass more slowly this time, he listened as Astraea talked again. He did agree that Australia was out of the question.

"Hmmm, did the Seasons ever expressed any interest in any specific area? I know Aurora always loved French things, especially Rococo. You've known them longer then I have." he said.

Even though he would love it if the Seasons were in France, something told him they weren't there.

"Now as far as WHO would want to initially go to Earth, I can only see the girls wanting to go since the boys never fully expressed interest in going. Phoebus would only go for protection purposes. Halcyon would go to be supportive."

It seemed that Velonix slightly misunderstood her question. Reiya merely wanted to know where Velonix and Kazuyuki came from. Instead she got a life story. The girl seemed to have no secrets, but something about her story was off. At least that's what her instincts told her. Oh, she figured the two siblings weren't blood related, anyone could tell that, but it was like she practiced her answer. That was it! It sounded rehearsed, not natural, even the part about losing her caretakers. Deciding not to worry about it, Reiya merely nodded when Velonix finished.

"I lost my parents a couple years ago . . . so I know how it feels to lose someone dear," Reiya said, trying to keep her voice stable.

It still hurt. Work and other family did help, but it still hurt. She still cried at night from time to time too. Hopefully one day she could fully move on.

When Reiya tried correcting Velonix's behavior, she saw she might have jumped the gun for the girl's attitude seemed to take a complete 180. It went from cheery to a complete meltdown in less then a minute. Instantly Reiya felt awful. She really had only been trying to help. The teen was so distraught, she didn't even hear Velonix apologize to Kazutora nor hear her talk to her. Was there any other way she could have said it? She knew she'd have to apologize.

Suddenly, she heard someone say to her softly, "Don't worry too much about that, I'll talk to her, okay? You didn't say anything wrong. Thanks for trying to look out for my sister a little, too."

Turning, she saw it was Kazuyuki who said it. She honestly didn't know what to say to that, so she simply nodded. Sure, she didn't mean to do anything wrong, but she should have had the foresight to know that might have been a reaction. She still knew she was going to apologize though, if only for her own peace of mind. And she would do that as soon as she finished eating.

However, just when she was almost done eating, it seemed that Velonix finished and started talking again.

"Thank you for spending the lunch hour with me, and I appreciate your help up until now. Again, I apologize for being a bother, and if you do not wish to be friends, I understand."

Suddenly the girl took off and Reiya for once tried finishing her food as quickly as possible. It looks like Kazutora would follow her, but then Kazuyuki spoke up and said he'd talk to her. Looks like she wasn't the only one feeling regrettable since Kazutora looked flustered too. Suddenly he looked at her and an awkward silence hung in the air. Before she could say anything though, Kazutora left the roof. Cleaning up, Reiya was hot on his heels. However he was still faster than her, so she did fall behind slightly. She really needed to work out more.

Lucky for her though, she did see Kazutora run into Kenji. Well, unlucky for Kenji. She was close enough to see the red mark on Kenji's cheek. Now who could have done that?! Well, Kenji did deserve it. Soon enough though, Kazutora himself put Kenji on the floor and Reiya was close enough to get the tail end of what he was saying to him.

"If you wanna screw with me then do it after school!"

Oh that was not good, not good at all. Without even thinking, Reiya pulled out her cell phone and instantly texted Iphi.

Iphi, I hope classes are going smoothly for you. I have been trying to hang out with Kazutora more and Kenji keeps harassing him. Today I ate with him and two new students, their names are Velonix and Kazuyuki Orako. They are . . . really something. Anyway, just now Kenji bothered Kazutora again. I was able to get the tail end of their conversation after Kazutora pushed Kenji to the ground and basically told him to leave him alone and wait until after school. I worry Kenji may do just that. What should I do? I know I promised to keep on eye on Kazutora, but if I tell a teacher, he might get in trouble. I know I keep saying this, but I do wish I was as strong and brave as you Iphi. Anyway, I need to get to class.

After sending the message, Reiya went to her next class. Seeing the siblings and Kazutora, Reiya makes a beeline to them and approaches Velonix.

"Miss Velonix, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset. I just wanted to help. You're no bother at all either. I just had a huge adjustment myself when I first moved her. I lived most of my life in Germany, so when I moved here after my parents died, it was a big adjustment for me and I was just trying to help you get adjusted. I would still like to get to know you better, if that's okay. Oh Kazutora, are you okay? Please forgive me, but I saw what happened with Kenji and I texted Iphi about it. I kind of panic because I don't want you to get hurt and I know Iphi would do a much better job of protecting you then me."

After that, she sat down and got ready for class.

"Hmmm, did the Seasons ever express any interest in any specific area? I know Aurora always loved French things, especially Rococo. You've known them longer than I have."

Nibbling on her cookie, Astraea mulled over her memories of her interactions with the Seasons over the years. The boys had rarely expressed any interest in Earth, let alone the mortals, but the girls on the other hand had been extremely curious, especially when it came to anything involving the mortal realm. She recalled many times that she had been used as a babysitter to keep the girls in check and out of the looking pool room. They were curious little buggers, but it was understandable; mortals were something foreign and fascinating, something to study and understand. What they did not understand, unfortunately, was how terrible humanity truly was. This was why she was in such a rush to retrieve the Seasons and return them to their parents and Aequinoctium to resume their godly duties. Not only was the Earth slowly becoming unbalanced despite the young ones having left after the change of seasons, but also she wished to protect them from the horrid existence that was humanity.

”Aurora indeed adores France, and Harmonix loves all things Scottish and Greek. As for the boys, they never outwardly expressed much interest in Earth, so I haven’t a clue as to where they would have wished to go. Unfortunately, that does not mean that they went to those locations; they may have gone elsewhere in an attempt to throw us off track,” she ended on a murmur, almost seeming to speak to herself. She finished her cookie and poured another shot, offering the bottle to Pavo so as to fill his as well.

"Now as far as WHO would want to initially go to Earth, I can only see the girls wanting to go since the boys never fully expressed interest in going. Phoebus would only go for protection purposes. Halcyon would go to be supportive." Astraea undid her long ponytails, allowing her hair to fall free, an uncommon occurrence for the mature Star to do in front of others. As she ran her fingers through the golden tresses in an attempt to somewhat untangle them, small sprinkles of stardust fell from the soft strands and her porcelain digits, disappearing as they connected with the man-made floor. It felt good to release some of her magic, having been holding onto her mortal form for as long as she had, and she sighed a bit at the lift of pressure from her back. Rolling her head to stretch her neck, she held up her shot glass to tap it against Pavo’s. As they clinked them together and she tossed it back, her face twisting a bit at the unfamiliar burn, she ran her tongue over her lips.

His question was a valid one. Who would have wanted to go to Earth was something that Astraea had wondered to herself many times over the last two weeks. She had ruled out the boys entirely, just as Pavo seemed to have. Halcyon was too … Halcyon to suggest it, and Natsuo was by far the most stubborn and hard-headed of them all. It was unlikely that he would have brought it up in conversation. Kazumi was a possibility, as she enjoyed pretty things and pushing the limits of her freedom, but at the same time, that did not really strike Astraea as reason enough for them to pull a stunt like this.

So that unfortunately left her beloved Harmonix. Given her history, it was difficult to say whether or not she would suggest such a thing, so to be completely honest, it was more than likely that it had been entirely Harmonix’s idea.

”It was more than likely Harmonix,” she answered simply after a few moments of thought. ”Kazumi may enjoy her fashion and be fascinated with humans, but I find it highly unlikely that she would be willing to put her family at risk as well as worry their parents for such an excursion simply due to those reasons. As for Harmonix, her past shows that she is unpredictable in the decisions that she makes. She may have her reasons for them, but they are unpredictable ones nonetheless, so I believe that leaves only her as the viable option.”

Astraea tossed a finger in the direction of the map. The alcohol had warmed her and she could feel her cheeks were turning rosy in response, and her mind was growing foggy - much to her satisfaction. This was exactly what she was going for; an escape and something that could possibly help her insomnia ridden mind sleep. ”I think we should start in Scotland, since Harmonix would more than likely want to go there.” The movement combined with her words made her dizzy. She had barely drank anything before in her life, as it was a human vice that she had never considered taking part in it, so despite her disappointment it was unsurprising that her mortal body was reacting so intensely to what most would deem a small amount of alcohol. She caught herself on the back of the couch as she swayed a bit, hand raising to rub sleepily at her right eye.

”Pavo, do you … Think that we will find them? Before anything bad happens?” she asked softly, her stare a million miles away. Her hand reached to the back of the couch and tugged the blanket down from it, tossing it over her legs as goosebumps began to speckle them. As she did so, another wave of dizziness assaulted her, and this time she gripped the nearest thing to stabilize herself with - which was unfortunately Pavo’s arm. As soon as she touched it, however, she found herself swimming through the fog in her mind to piece together a sentence that actually made sense. I never knew … That his arm could feel so nice … Her eyes fell half-shut at the thought and she found herself leaning before she could stop, her head connecting with his shoulder.

”Warm … Comfy,” she mumbled sleepily to herself, attempting to keep herself from nodding off entirely. She inhaled deeply as she snuggled in, letting out a content sigh. ”Smells nice …” Completely out of her control, she rubbed his arm gently, almost as though it were a comfort to her to do so. In all honesty, she was too far gone to really realize what she was doing. She was operating on no sleep in three days, and as soon as the liquor hit her virgin system, she was done for. So there she was, as defenseless as a baby lamb, pressed up against her subordinate’s side. His arm was hard, as it was obvious that he spent many days exercising and working out, but despite the muscular state it was still surprisingly comfortable to rest against. Through the haze she knew that she should move away and gather her wits, but Gods, she was so tired - and he felt so good to rest against. He was comfortable; he was familiar. He was … Part of their family, so in a way, he was … Home.

As Astraea talked, Pavo nodded in agreement. In the back of his mind, if HE was the Seasons, he would definitely visit someplace to throw the others off. Still, it be a good idea to be sure too.

"As far as places to rule out, I think we can also rule out warn-torn places too, so a good chunk of the Middle East. And any tropical area due to Halycon not being able to handle it, so most of Southeast Asia. Of course the same goes for the polar opposite, the extremely cold areas too, like anywhere in Himalayas."

There were other factors too to consider, like he doubts the seasons would go to an area where the government was pretty corrupted and would have 'big brother' watching over them. So that would rule out China. Now there was a country that he felt was taking a wrong turn, but that country had always had its ups and downs. Another thing was would the Seasons go to a rural area or a city or somewhere in between? Aurora and Phoebus were extroverts and would crave a place to be around people. But Harmonix and Halcyon were introverts and prefer the quiet, although Harmonix's curiosity about humans always helped her overcome any anxieties. So, Astraea was probably right, Harmonix was the catalyst for this whole situation.

"You know one thing is for sure, I bet all four of them are in school. All of them could pass for teenagers or college students. You wouldn't think they were so much older than that. Mon dieu, I look older than them and I am pretty much a baby age wise compared to the rest of you." he said with a laugh.

Suddenly a memory came to him, it was the last time he had a personal conversation with Harmonix.

"Oh, you know what, gosh it was like almost a month ago, Harmonix asked me a lot about my life prior to the war. Of course all of you already know it, but she was more interested in details, like how currency worked or what was needed buy a house. I couldn't answer all of those, but it did make me wonder. I should have mention that before."

"Pavo, do you … Think that we will find them? Before anything bad happens?"

Looking at his superior, he could see the fear she was feeling. Taking his free arm, he placed it around her shoulders and hugged her in comfort.

"We'll find them. In time, trust that they'll be able to handle themselves until we get to them."

He knew she didn't like humanity, but Pavo, being human himself once upon a time, knew there were good humans out there. His family were good examples and then there were the rebels he helped with. He even heard from those who did spying missions that there were a few Nazis that had been forced to be in the army, so even amongst evil there was good. Maybe that's why he and Astraea made a good team, he saw the glass half full and she half full; hence, they balanced each other out. His attention became diverted though as Astraea laid her head against him and started to fall asleep while murmuring random words. Well, this was an interesting development. Soon though she was asleep. Pavo sat there a few minutes, thinking about what he should do. He really didn't think Astraea would like to sleep on the couch, but he was worried he might wake her up too. Also, having her close to him like this, it was pretty unsettling, and he did briefly consider taking advantage of the situation, he was male after all, but quickly squashed that. He prefers to have the person's permission first. It was one thing his father told him, to always have a lady's permission, and he did not have that yet, not with Astraea at least. Oh, even after becoming a star, he still had his occasional paramours, but he'd always be careful and was selective. Besides, he was busier as a star then he was as a human.

Wanting sleep himself, he decides carry Astraea into her room. Moving gently, he gathers her into his arms and goes into her room. He lays her down and pulls the covers over her. Closing the door to her room, he cleans up the food and drinks before finally going to bed himself.

Reiya sighed in relief when Velonix spoke to her, still wishing to be friends. Whether they would become friends or not was a good question, but Reiya could see that happening. She barely caught Kazutora's own response to her. It was then Velonix asked about Kenji, but before Reiya could answer her, she heard her cell phone go off, indicating she got a text message. Reminding herself to put her phone on silent, she did that before checking the text.

We had a couple of new students join us too. Siblings. They seem...decent enough I guess. I'm about to eat with the brother. That blueberry Mafuyu is with the sister. They must be related to your new classmates. They're names are Kazumi and Natsuo Orako. I have an hour after classes until work, so don't worry about Kenji or Zu, I'll take care of the little fucker myself. Thanks for the heads up, wouldn't have known without you. I know he can be a tough nut to crack but I really hope that you can become friends. Just keep on keeping your eye on him for me, please. Thanks so much! You're the best! Have a good rest of your classes!

Unfortunately, Reiya didn't have time to respond to Velonix nor to the text since the next class started right then and there. Instantly Reiya paid attention and started taking notes. However, she kept a sharp eye on Mr. Okamoto. He made her feel very uncomfortable, and she did notice how he kept looking in Velonix's direction. Briefly looking at the new student, she could tell the girl didn't like him looking at her too. Still it would be a good idea to caution her. Reiya was just relieved her Uncle Ryu, her Aunt Risuki's husband, was on the school board, so if anything DID happen, she could notify him. How someone like him became a teacher, she will never know.

The next two classes passed by easily enough though and the first person to speak up was no surprise for it was Velonix. She asked again she and Kazuyuki had a class together next. Kazutora speaks next and mentions his club is the same as Velonix's, art club. If there was one thing Reiya couldn't do, it was art. Kazuyuki was the last to speak and it seems he had the same club as hers, orchestra. While Reiya couldn't draw to save her life, she was proficient at the piano. It was one thing she learned from her paternal grandmother and continued to enjoy doing it. She was curious on what Kazuyuki's instrument was. Well, she'd find out eventually.

"Oh, sure it'll be no trouble to show you where our next class is. I also have Orchestra as my club, so I can show you the way to that too. Can you give me a second though. Miss Velonix, about your earlier question, Kenji bothered him again, but he didn't hurt him. Don't worry though, a mutual friend of ours who's in college will watch over Kazutora after school in case anything happens. Oh she also mentioned having a few classes with your older siblings. If they're anything like you and Kazuyuki, I wouldn't be surprised they have caused a stir too. Oh, I don't mean that in a bad way either, you and your brother are very nice, it's just so rare was someone moves here, especially with no connections to this place. Well, I'll let you two go to class. Shall we go Mister Kazuyuki?" Reiya rambles again, turning to Kazuyuki at that last statement.

She leads him to the Creative Writing class, where students we already there. Amongst them was her first cousin, a 3rd year like her, Yuki, who was the daughter of her Aunt Risuki and Uncle Ryu.

"Rei-chan!" the teen called out to here before coming forward and giving her a hug.

Yuki was very exuberant and unlike most Japanese, enjoyed physical contact whenever possible. Reiya was used to this kind of behavior. Pulling back, Yuki was quick to notice Kazuyuki behind her.

"OOOHH! Who's the new guy, Rei-chan?! Hi there, I am Yuki Aikawa! Rei's my first cousin, our mothers were sisters," she said with a bright smile before bowing.

Seeing her cousin blush caused her smile to widen more. Reiya sighed and turned to Kazuyuki.

"I am going to sit down now. Class will be starting soon. Feel free to sit wherever you like. This class is very easy going."

Bowing herself, she sat down.
