Tirka was about an inch from falling asleep. She didn't know how long the periods were here, but she couldn't help but think that it was near the end. "...now, i want to see how competent you are 'onstage'. When I ask, come up, take an instrument, and play." After six people, it was finally Tirka's turn. "The girl with the tail, that's currently spinning fire around her wrist? Please step up." Tirka looked up with a jerk. "M-m-me?" she stammered, and the teacher nodded. So, not wanting to appear rude, she stood up, picked up the Warlock, and plugged it into the amp again. "Ant particular song, m'am?" she had a mild southern accent, hence the m'am. She was from a small town near Galveston, Texas. Mrs Dupree shook her head. "All you need to do is pick the song, then tell us why." Tirka nodded her head, then thought for a few seconds. "My twin brother taught me this song." And she positioned the guitar, and started to play Na Na Na Na. By the time she had gotten to the solo in the middle, people had their eyes wide. When the song finished, the whole class burst into applause. She smiled nervously at them all, then went back to her seat.

Luzia looked at his sudden transformation, just like the previous night. And when he came up to her and went to his knees, she raised her eyebrows at him, not quite sure at the point of him humiliating himself like that. She felt relieved at seeing him rise and going the other way, she hated those intense eye stares she had between people. She had to say something harsh, otherwise she might be seen as an softy, and she couldn't have that.
"I still stand by what I said, no matter if you've had a hard time... You should still be locked up, after what you have done." She said.
"And that my friend was a sniffling apology, it meant nothing to me and you basically just humiliated and put yourself down in other people's eyes and mind. I would know."
She stood up from her chair and coughed, getting ready for the last of the input for that lesson.
"My name is Luzia Amei Whitewood. I'm a mind reader, so I know what you think about me. And I'm beginning to develop the power to see flashes of someone's past. So stay away from, 'cause I'm a 'no touchy' person." She then sat back down, adjusting herself to a comfy position, getting out a lollypop from her pocket and inspected it before tasting it with the tip of her tongue.

"I'm from Kansas City," said Cole. "United States." He didn't know if Roman knew where Kansas City was. Based on his heavy accent, he wasn't sure how long Roman had been in the United States, so he explained better to make sure. He sighed as he turned to the front of the class, when the teacher began to lecture about starting the new school year, and what they were going to learn. The first day was always the easiest, though Cole was new here, so he didn't know how this school worked compared to his old public school. So far though, this class was pretty similar to back home, except everyone in the class had some weird power.

Thinking about the powers, he looked over to Roman. "So, what's your power?" he asked. He wasn't sure if that was a weird question to ask, but Cole really liked to find out what these people could do. His power seemed normal to him, but hearing others just amazed him. He though He and Laurel were the only ones that could do anything out of the ordinary, until Laurel found out about the school.

"So, what's you're power?"

A pulse of fear ran through Romans veins, questions engulfed his mind, Powers, how does he know? What lead him to think that? Why is he asking such questions here...in...a school of... Roman smirked and laughed a bit at his ingrained fear of being discovered and realized he had undergone a brief laps of logic. He really did not know how to explain his abilities in simple terms, nor did he intend to let anyone know what he was truely capable of. He usually got away by labeling his powers by the ability to distort light and sound, but that was a mere illusion in most peoples understanding, his particular manipulation of the quantum field allowed him access to infinite abilities, limited heavily by his mind and understanding. He thought for just a moment, noting that he would have to chose an ability he had become proficient in and could pass off as being his only skill.

"I am phaser....I move through objects of solid. Yes, objects....ahhh physically defined as solid....as though said objects were....of a gaseous state, yavol? You...have great strength?", he inquired.

His vocabulary was equivalent to that of his Russian linguistic skills but his grammar, translation, and organization of words was coming slowly. He wanted nothing more at this point than to leave class and drain the knowledge from the school's library. It would undoubtedly serve a greater purpose than lazing around in the classroom with a teacher who still had to learn the student's names. However, this was discipline, a discipline he must keep until he knew how to accomplish his goal.

Mr. Zed's Class

Not five minutes of being in a class and someone was already off their rocker. Ezekiel had already gotten out of this desk, his armor enveloping his body, though the occurrence was over before it even started. The guy's heart was beating about as fast as one could physically go without harming themselves, his adrenal glands going ape shit for lake of better words. His eyes twitched back and forth from person to person as powers were shown, some maybe a little higher tier than others. The Jason kid made his way through the stone wall created by the girl with the black and red hair, and Ezekiel was about ready to charge in when the guy seemingly took hold of himself. Metallic noises sounded as his fingers dug into his palm, ready to do what he did best if the guy decided to lose it again... Cull the source of the problem and remove them from the area. Ezekiel found himself at the back of the class with his knee's bent when the situation pulled a 180 and calmed itself rather quickly. He eased his body slightly, standing a little straighter as words were thrown back and forth.

'An apology for almost killing someone...' he thought to himself, 'Yeah, horse shit...' he blinked and finally reached his full height, his eyebrows coming together above his now entirely silver eyes, locked on this Jason kid... He would be one to watch from now on. His eyes tracked the other fire user who made his way out of the classroom, the door cosing behind him. 'I'm going to lose my god damned mind...' he thought to himself, his eyes still focused on Jason as he dropped his armor. He shook his head a little as he began walking back to his seat, though not sitting down immediately. Rather, he stood next to it, waiting for the teacher to take his position over the class again.

#, as written by X-Fly-X
Fly watched the Jason kid lose it. But she stayed rooted to the spot, she had a mixed feeling of laziness and fear. She thought it was best to leave it to the teacher, I mean being in a school of freaks he should be used to this kind of stuff right? She watched some of the other students freak out and try to help but Jason seemed to have regained control. It appeared she wasn't the only one who could flip out, it was a comforting thought but also scary, who knew what all of them were capable of, herself included. Mr. Zed went back to the front of the class and Fly allowed her attention to return to the lesson, although she was still a little tense. She listened to Jason apologizing to some people, specifically one girl, the one who had laughed at Fly when she came into the room. The girl introduced herself as "Luzia" and she was a mind reader. Fly thought it would be best to avoid her, she hated the idea of people being in her head, and hated to be in other peoples heads.
Soon it was Fly's turn for the introduction, once the lesson had resumed its normal pace. She stood up, "My name is Fly Phoenix...I know weird, but true. I can shape shift into practically anything and absorb abilities" she said. There was a lot more detail needed to fully understand but she felt that this summary was enough for now. She sat down and fidgeted with her folder, not looking up in case she met someone's eyes or stares. She had never been to school, she had no idea what normal lesson behavior was, so she just looked back at Mr. Zed, as she thought a good student would do.

As she sat back down in her seat, she noticed a note on the edge of the desk. She looked around, and a boy with dark spiky hair and a definete rock-kid look grinned at her and gave her a small thumbs up. She smiled back nervously, and opened the note.

'nice one one the solo. thought that only Frank Iero could do that.'

She looked again at him, then with a sudden shock realised he was the guy she had tripped up to get to the Warlock. She quickly scribbled on the back of the note,
'thanks. my twin brother taught me it. sorry about tripping you up.'

She thrw the note back over to him. He read it, looked back at her, and grinned again. He shook his head, and mouthed 'it's cool' at her. She smiled again, then turned back to the front.

Mr. Zed's Class

Kells was terrified. As the other student, Jason, started to go into a melt-down, Kells adopted Pangerbaum's move and jumped out of the seat almost as high as a desk and ran to the other side of the room. Heart beating like a caged bird desperately pounding against his chest to escape, Kells looked frantically to Mr. Zed.

His mind was screaming to himself, I am NOT meant to be here. I was safer away. Just me and Panger- Oh no!

Kells realized that in his flight, he had left Pangerbaum! With the intention to run back, grab the bag and retreat again, kells started to sprint. Yet, ever the pretentious, innocent, annoying, overlysharp, but caring cat, Pangerbaum was already marching over proudly to Kells in a manner that suggested he was 'taking his sweet time to get there.' Kells stopped before he had even started and just stared.

On one hand, he was definately being shown up by his cat- thankfully noone was watching. All eyes were on Jason. Pangerbaum continued his promenade till the wall was thrown up by gwen and rubble scattered everywhere. Pangerbaum , startled, howled in that uniquely hair-on-end setting way that cats have and leapt the last ten feet- an impressive leap for a cat.

Kells had open arms to welcome his beloved cat. Pangerbaum had all paws outstretched, claws extended and clung to the front of Kells' shirt like velcro.

With a wince as the claws sank into his skin as well as the shirt, Kells caught Pangerbaum and watched as the rest of the scene unraveled. He had no opinion on the matter, just a pointed note to himself to sit in a different seat the next day- farther away from Jason than he had today. Perhaps first period tomorrow, he'd sit closer to the teacher.

During the following conversation, he coaxed Pangerbaum to remove his nails and let himself be held normally. The scene died down and everyone returned to their seats.

Aubrie wasn't too sure if this boys name was "Aubrey" or if he was just repeating it. She though she probably had a stupid look on her face, but when didn't she? Then the boy finally said, "My name. It's Aubrey." which finally made more sense to Aubrie. "Oh my gosh! Same, my name is Aubrie, too!" She said, making an obvious statement.

The boy had turned his head and kept working on what he was doing, which probably meant that Mr. Klien was back, but she could honestly had given a crap. She wasn't the type of person to care much about anything but cloths, and other things along those lines. Wanting to keep the conversation going, she was about to start to get after him. Then she heard Lilli say, "Come on Aubrie, how about we let him get back to his work? He did arrive late, he needs to catch up." trying to talk Aubrie, and have Aubrie come back with her. But it was no use, Aubrie wanted to talk. Mr. Klien walked over behind Aubrie. "Not doing your work, and annoying other students? All on your first day. Sit down in your seat Stonehenge." Aubrie at first ignored him, then frowned and went back to her seat. She scribbled some things down on the paper, and smiled at Mr. Klien. "I'm done!" She announced, wanting to leave. The paper only had a few things written down on it, and Aubrie wasn't too sure what she had written down on it, nor did she care. She walked up to his desk and placed it in the middle, and looked at Mr. Klien. "I bet I got one hundred percent!" She said, still acting pretty stupid. "It was a information packet, Aubrie. Not a quiz or test." Lilli said, a little embarrassed for Aubrie. "Yeah, that is what I said." She said turning around. "Can I go to the bath room?" Aubrie said, as she walked towards the door. "I suppose so, just don't take too long." Mr. Klien said. "Okay, sure." Aubrie said as she opened the door, and closed it behind her.

She was hoping on running into someone, maybe Adam? That would be nice, she hadn't seen him all day. 'Darn! I need his number, if he even has a phone, that is...' Aubrie thought to herself. She knew she didn't have to go to the bathroom, she just wondered aimlessly around the top two floors. Hoping to find someone to talk with, and waist some unnecessary work time. Well, at least, that was the way she saw it.

Lilli heard that the boys name was "Aubrey" and she got a kick out of it. But he seemed the opposite of Aubrie. He seemed like one of those quiet kids, who read books all the time. And from what she already knew about Aubrie, she was a slacker, who would do anything to get out of work. She watched Aubrie as she tried to talk some more. Lilli leaned over and said, "Come on Aubrie, how about we let him get back to his work? He did arrive late, he needs to catch up." But it was too late, because Mr. Klien had already made his way to them. He was behind Aubrie when he said, "Not doing your work, and annoying other students? All on your first day. Sit down in your seat Stonehenge." At first it seemed as if Aubrie was going to ignore him, which probably would end up in a disaster. But she finally got back to her seat. It was only about a few minutes later that Aubrie shot up and said, "I'm done!"

Aubrie had walked over to Mr. Klien's desk, and placed down the paper on his desk. She smiled at him and said "I bet I got one hundred percent!" Aubrie really didn't sound too smart by saying that. Lilli couldn't tell if she did it on purpose, or if she was really that way. She didn't really want to know the truth, though. "It was a information packet, Aubrie. Not a quiz or test." Lilli said, looking around with a red face. She was so embarrassed that she would say something like that, even though it had nothing to do with Lilli.

Aubrie had left the room, saying that she had to go to the ladies room, which was obviously a lie. Lilli by now was finished, and Mr. Klien had assigned Aubrey and Lilli each their own text book that they would need for the rest of the class. Lilli looked at Aubrey. How was Aubrie so good with guys? She could always talk to them, she guessed. Lilli wished she had more courage. But she figured that was a funny thing to wish, we knew she would probably never be able to talk to a guy and not be awkward.

Something felt weird, though. She had just realized. She could feel something different. The sense was getting stronger, though. It was many feelings, though. Rage, anger, fear, annoyance, sorrow. She wasn't too sure where they were coming from, she was just confused. Lilli decided to ignore it for a bit longer, and if anything got worse, she would ask to go to the nurses.

Ms. Lee's Class

Vas was starting to lose his ability to stay awake in this seemingly empty class of skeletons and organs posters. The teacher, who he never was properly introduced to was so engulfed in what she was teaching she surly wouldn't care, or notice if he Pulled out his note pad and started to contemplate, his ideologies of the atomic structure of the wood in his pencil.

Before he wrote a single letter Vas reached in his bag and pulled out a gold platted Pen. Inscribed on pen was a Russian sentence that read: Study hard, and life Long. This was the motto he adopted from his Parents, It was also the only thing that his Mother, and Father taught him themselves, everything else Vas learned from his private tutors or from his butler Ivan. After the quick remembrance of his father Vas felt a strong disgust for his parents, because the space in his heart that was once filled with admiration was now overflowing with Pain and hatred.

Vas span the Pen around his fingers a few times before finally he clicked the end to expose the writing tip and placed the ink filled point onto the vellum to start of his theory notes.

Topic: Wood's Chemical composition
From my understanding Wood starts off as a living organism, this would make it almost impossible to transmute.... but dead wood should be able to be transformed into a different, and simpler Element because if no longer is living has not control over its self anymore. Self question: What is wood? Self Answer: Wood is mostly cellulose, and cellulose is polymerized sugar. So it is safe to say wood is made up of carbohydrates, because Cellulose is a carbohydrate with an average chemical composition of CH2O or C(1)H(2)O(1) so if I focus on transmuting the Hydrogen, and oxygen out and adding more carbon from the air around me and theoretically speaking there is over 3.5 gigatons of carbon available in the biosphere to use in this transmutation. This concludes my thesis, next stage is ......Experimentation.
Vas Finished his notes with the signing of his initials and gently placed his pen, and pad in his satchel which was hanging off the side of his chair.

"I hope this works" Vas said in his head, as he removed the rubber eraser, and the metal eraser holder from his unsharpened pencil. Once both were removed he held the pencil between his index fingers and closed his eyes to focus on the interior structure of the wooden pencil and not its exterior appearance. after a few second in his zen like meditation the edges of the pencil started to turn a shimmery gray color instead of there normal wooden brown color, and as the discoloration started it took less than 4 seconds for the once brown pencil to turn completely into a carbon rod. As Vas opened his eyes a wide grin came across his face. But then the grin faded as Vas noticed that the inside of the rod had not changed from its graphite form, disappointment loomed on his face but this disappointment was not in his abilities but in his lack of remembrance that the pencil contained a graphite core.

Gwen wandered back to her seat, runnin her hand through her hair. She glanced at Kells and Pangerbaum. She had notice the rubble from her rock wall had startled Pangerbaum and smiled apologetically. "Sorry.." she said softly, though she was a bit proud of herself; even if it was weird. She never had a lot of control, but in the short time she had been at Babylon, she hadn't messed up once yet. She stopped chewin on her lip, since it was irritating the skin aroun her snake bites and instead started twirling her hair around her finger with one hand, while she had a small bit of water appear and swirl around her wrist and hand like a small snake with er other hand under he desk, finding it soothing to her nerves. She glanced at Mr. Zed as class began again, listening to Luzia and Fly, finding Fly's name quite interesting. She soon entered a calm state, listening to the class as if she haft been the slightest bit worried.

#, as written by Zephyr
Aubrey couldn't believe the female Aubrie at all; he and she were like polar opposites. He felt like sighing when he heard her pointing out the fact that her name was Aubrie as well, but withheld it for posterity's sake. Instead, he continued quickly transcribing the notes upon the board into his notebook in his own cursive. He was finished within a matter of a minute, and soon after moved on to the information packet Mr. Klien had handed him. He glanced over it twice, taking note of the important information apparent, before pushing it aside and procuring a blank piece of staff paper from his bag. The boy glanced shiftily up at the teacher quickly, hoping he hadn't seen him. He began scrawling thoughts, chords, and progressions upon it, only vaguely aware of the banter going on between other Aubrie and the teacher. After a moment, he heard the door open and close. He glanced up from his work to find that other Aubrie had left the room. He racked his brain for the conversation that had transpired, and after a moment finally stumbled upon the answer he sought; she had gone to the bathroom.

The boy was about to return to his sheet music before the sound of a heavy text-book plopping itself upon his desk jarred him. He looked up at Mr. Klien with a somewhat frightened and embarrassed expression as the man walked over to the other girl, assigning her a text book as well. He hoped the man hadn't noticed that he was working on music in his class; that had never gone over well with any of the teachers at his old school... But he didn't seem to have noticed, so Aubrey quickly slipped the paper back in his bag without a second thought. He opened up the text book with a glance up at the board to the appropriate page, and instantly began reading. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed some movement aimed towards him. He turned his head only to find the other girl turning her head towards the front of the class, seemingly deep in thought. Had she been staring at him...? He tilted his head in confusion for a moment, before shaking his head of the thought and turning back to the text. Why did it matter?

Tirka clapped with the restof the class after a kid had just done the national anthem on a tuba. It sounded more like one of her great uncle Albert's fart renditions of it. Her uncle had stood up, hand to heart, and solemnly farted out the national anthem, while her dad had burped along. It had been hilarious to see. The spikey haired kick poked her shoulder lightly, and she blinked twice. "Hmm?" she looked at him. 'you're on fire.' he mouthed, grinning. Tirka hurreidly looked down, and realised that, as she had been clapping, a few rogue sparks had set fire to her sleeve. She swore quietly, focused, and the flames faded and disappeared.

Mr. Zed's Classroom - Personal Power Class
First Period
Time: 8:20 am

Victoria was a bit worried as the tension in the air seemed to increase. But she became even more worried as she heard Mr. Zed address it.

She could feel the air in the classroom get hotter - extremely hotter - at a rate that didn't quite make sense. Her mind automatically chalked it up to another students powers, and it was apparently the powers of a student by the name of Jason. The one who could control fire.

There was a large commotion in the room, and Victoria found herself slowly backing up and away from it. It appeared the other students were scattering, and Mr. Zed, of course, was approaching the situation to try to get a handle on it.

But Victoria just sort of blanked out, her legs shaking slightly. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't really tell what was going on, simply because she could only see everyones outlines. She was already loosing track of who was who, as her eyes flicked back and forth between the different people who had become involved.

But almost as quickly as it had started, she heard Jason apologizing for his behavior. She sank back into her seat, her legs still trembling slightly, as she stared ahead of herself, an almost blank expression on her face. She let out a few shaky breaths, her hands clutching at the sides of the desk as she tried to calm herself down. It wasn't often that she didn't feel in control, but when it happened, it was more than frightening to her. In her mind, her disability made it harder for her to react to situations like others did. She didn't truly know what had just happened, only that it had everyone on edge.

But Mr. Zed seemed to roll with this, as he always did.

"Yes, we can speak after class," he began, nodding towards Jason, before moving around to look at the rest of the class.

"Actually, we should work with this. Right now. We can finish our introductions up quickly, but from there, I have a perfect idea for a lesson - we'll work on what I had planned for today tomorrow." One other students spoke up - a Fly Phoenix - and as she sat down, Mr. Zed clapped his hands together.

"You've got a pretty awesome name and power, I'll give you that," he said to her, before turning to the rest of the class. "Alright. Time to start what I've recently decided will be our new lesson."

He moved to the front of the room. "I want everyone to move the desks to the side of the room. Just put them wherever; I'll move them back after class. I want you to find a place in the room where you feel most comfortable. It has to be somewhere where you can sit down."

He took a seat on the floor at the front of the room as the students stood up, moving the desks. Victoria moved her desk over to the side, before sitting down near the teachers desk, back resting against it cool metal surface. She glanced around, her mind a bit more calm than it had been before, noting where people were sitting.

Mr. Zed continued to speak. "I find that the simplest way for students to begin to control and understand their powers is to center themselves. Many times in our lives, we just keep going without really taking time for our minds to relax and rejuvenate. Sleeping doesn't truly do that for us, because our brains are still working just as fast when we sleep. But I've found that meditation really helps in the first stages of becoming a master of your gifts. This even applies more so for mutants than it does for regular people off the street." He grinned, looking around the room.

"There isn't any specific way you have to sit for this exercise. My most comfortable position is sitting with my legs crossed 'Indian style', and my hands resting in the middle of them in a diamond position, with each of my fingers touching." He demonstrated what he was talking about, before continuing. "I relax my back, and regulate my breathing. The key is to concentrate on your breathing at first. I'm not quite sure how many of you have meditated before, but I'll guide you through this."

"Some of you may feel a bit more connected with yourselves after the first session, but for some of you, it may take a lot longer. Some of you may feel something you can't quite explain, but in time, you too will understand. But, now that everyone has taken a spot, lets start."

"Find a position comfortable to sit in... Something you won't fall asleep in, but something that will ease any physical pressures you may have put on your body. I want you to try to push all your thoughts from your mind. Erase your worries. Forget who you are for a while. Concentrate solely on my voice, and breathe in slowly from your nose. Hold that breath for a moment, and exhale through your mouth. Repeat that process, over and over. Push all bad thoughts from your mind. Push all good thoughts from your mind. Simply exist."

He continued his small speech, until even his voice was quiet. It seemed that there was almost no noise in the room at all, save for the small murmurs outside the classroom. But even those couldn't be heard by the students who were in their own little worlds of silence.

Victoria sat in her meditation pose, her mind almost completely empty. The one thing she was concentrating on was the static that seemed to play in her head. But when she heard Mr. Zed speak up, she seemed to come out of her 'zone'.

"Alright. I hate to break into your meditation now, but class is almost over. We're going to stop here for now. I am going to assign you homework, but I promise it's easy. All I ask of you to do, is to find a meditation position that is most comfortable for you. And I want you to meditate for as long as you feel necessary, but no less than 10 minutes. Then, write a small journal entry about how you feel afterward. Journals can be found on the last bookshelf in the back of the room. Grab one before you leave..." He paused, standing up from the floor. "Class will be over in 5 minutes anyway, so you can all talk for now..."

Victoria stood from her position on the floor, before making her way back over to her desk, tentatively. Her eyes glanced around the room, before she went to the back and grabbed a journal. There was one set on a separate shelf just for her. One that was "softer", so that her writing would show up on the pages as indents - that way she could read what she had written. The lines were also raised so she could see how she was writing. It was things like these that make school life a bit easier for her.

Making her way back to her desk, she sat, glancing around the room at the other students, before pulling out her schedule, and running her fingers across the braille letters that spelled out what her next class was. Music...

Veronique scowled slightly as Mr. James passed out a quiz to the rest of the class, but her scowl turned more into a glare as she watched another student walk out of the room - and that glare became even more of a pissed stare as she put together that Mr. James wasn't doing anything about it.

"Why the hell does that kid just get to walk out of here like he's something special..." she grumbled to herself.

But she looked at the quiz all the same, determined that she wouldn't be shown up by anyone in the class.

She read the questions to herself, marking her answers next to them.

Name: Veronique Wolfe
Date: September 6th
Class: Period One

Answer the following questions to the best of your ability. This will give me a general idea of your knowledge for the first unit we will be concentrating on. Each answer or blank is worth one point.

1. What are the top five leading causes of death in the United States, in order of first through fifth?
Smoking, Heart Attacks, Car Accidents, Pneumonia, and over consumption of alcohol or drugs.

2. What is the "Good Samaritan Law"?
The Good Samaritan Law is when you have to help any injured person as best as you can. If you don't do that, you can be held responsible for whatever happens because of your actions.

3. What is "Implied Consent", and how does it apply to situations when a person is in need of medical assistance?
Implied consent is consent given by the person who needs help but cannot directly ask for it. Example: If a person has passed out on the floor, and you ask them if they need help. They can't answer you, because they passed out, so its implied that they give their consent for you to help them. Because honestly, nobody at that point wants to die. So of course they'd give it anyway...

4. Should you ever move an injured person?
No. Because you could hurt them more, especially if there is internal bleeding, or if they have broken bones.

5. What is an ABRASION? Give an example.
When skin is scraped, but there is no bleeding. Example: Scraped knee.

6. What is an INCISION? Give an example.
A straight cut in the skin. Example: a cut during surgery.

7. What is a LACERATION? Give an example.
A laceration could be a cut that isn't straight... Example: Glass?

8. What is an AMPUTATION? Give an example.
When a part of your body gets cut off. Example: People in wars get their arms and legs amputated to help them stave off infection.

When you are finished your quiz, please turn it over and sit quietly so I will know you are done.

Veronique yawned as she flipped her quiz over, and Mr. James came around and picked it up off her desk. When everyone had finished, he handed them back out, and Veronique frowned at the red markings on her quiz.

"Alright," Mr. James began in his monotone drone. "I'm going to go over the correct answers."

"The answer to number one was: Heart disease, Cancer, Stroke, Chronic lower respiratory diseases, and accidents or unintentional injuries."
"For number two, the answer was: a law that says that you must preform CPR or First Aid to the level at which you are trained or certified. If you fail to do so, you can be held liable for any bodily harm caused by your actions."
"Number three was: Implied consent is the term used when a victim is unable to grand permission for any reason. If that has happened, consent is implied. We'll go over this more when we take notes in class after I go over the answers..."
"Number four was: Yes, and no. You should move an injured person if they are in danger of further harm, like fallen wires, fire, or explosives. But you shouldn't if there is no apparent danger, they have broken bones, or a spinal injury."
"The definitions, in order, are as follows: When the top layer of skin is removed with little to no bleeding; like a scraped elbow or knee... Cut skin that tends to have a clean straight edge; like a surgery cut, or a straight razor cut or a papercut... Cut skin with a jagged edge; like a cut from glass... When an extremity is completely or partially removed from the body; like from a war, or household appliance."

Veronique grimaced a bit, before looking down at her quiz, not quite satisfied.

"Alright, now we're going to take notes."

With a groan, she got out a notebook, and got ready to take notes. Almost as soon as they were done, she heard the bell go off, signalling that class was over and that it was time to move onto second period.

"Alright kids. Have a nice rest of the day. Don't forget to study harder and remember what you learned today..."

Veronique rolled her eyes as she gathered her things and made her way off to second period: European History with Mr. Klien.

Kells looked about as other students began to move the chairs and desks. He looked at Pangerbaum and shrugged. Mr. Zed has it under control now. The boy moved his own desk and chair to the side of the room and picked a spot against the wall to sit. He leaned his back against the cool wood and Pangerbaum sat on his lap. With legs outstretched, Kells proceeded to follow Mr. Zed's Instructions.

In through the nose.. He inhaled deeply. Out through the mouth.. He blew the air from his lips slowly. It helped calm him. His hands were bot resting gently on Pangerbaum's back. The cat would breathe in and out again with each of Kells' breaths- their timing almost in sync. It happened! Or.. maybe it didn't. Kells had been focusing on Mr. Zed's words and his breathing at the same time, but at some point both dissappeared. It was silent inside and outside him, but when Mr. Zed spoke in a regular tone again it seemed like mere instants had passed.

Kells felt rested. Did he fall asleep? With an embarassed grin to himself, he waited until Mr. Zed was finished with what he had to offer and returned to his bag, slipping the compliant Pangerbaum into it and sliding it carefully over his shoulder. His books and schedule were still on the desk. Kells picked them up and checked to see the next class.

Period Two:1: Deadlanguages: Focus-> Latin.

"Whew boy.. This oughta be..." Kells sighed and sorely wished he was in Pangerbaum's position on the pillow in a dark place to nap. "Oh well. Can't go to school without taking some classes."

Kells didn't seek anyone out in particular. He just walked into the nearest circle of students talking and sharing their pasts, powers, favorite music, and even snack food and began to make friends with the last five minutes.

Aubrey had just finished reading the required introductory pages of his textbook as the school bell rung. He glanced up for a moment to the clock, not having realized how little an amount of time he'd spent in class today. He quickly threw his text, booklet, and notebook into his bag, glancing up at Mr. Klien and waiting for consent to leave. The man noticed this, and nodded to him, resulting in the boy standing and fluidly slinging his bag over his shoulder. He drifted airily towards the teacher's desk, pulling out his room-numberless schedule and scanning it for his second period class.

"Umm... Excuse me... Could you tell me where to find second period music with Mrs. Dupree...?" Aubrey asked the man softly, proverbially pocketing the piece of paper as he awaited response. The man stared at him for a moment, somewhat puzzled at why this boy had just asked him the location of a class after having just looked at his schedule. Seeing the confusion in his expression, Aubrey quickly explained his situation. "My schedule doesn't include any room numbers..." He shrugged shyly, beginning to run the left hand's finger-work for Chopin's Etude Op 10, No. 12 along the outside of his thigh. The teacher, not seeming to notice the boy's blatant fidgeting, Aah'd and answered his poorly formed question.

Aubrey bowed his head slightly in thanks, before turning around and flitting out of the classroom. He unwillingly seemed to meld into the small flock of students as they all began their journeys to their next classes. He couldn't see where he was going at all seeing as he was a great deal shorter than most of his peers. There was a bit of jostling and bumping going on in this makeshift mosh-pit of students, constantly knocking the petite boy off balance. There were a few times he nearly fell off his feet because of the unintentional body-checks. He sighed sadly, hating to have to do this, but he didn't see any other possible way that he could get to his class on time and in one piece... He took a deep breath, clearing his mind and focusing on one thing; forwards. Instantly the students ceased bumping into him; rather, passing through him. Few of the students, however, seemed to notice. The boy continued his walk, padding softly and soundlessly in the direction his History teacher had sent him, every so often checking what he could make out of the numbers upon the doors to make sure he hadn't passed the room. Eventually he found it, breaking off from the crowd and seemingly gliding into the room and into an available seat.

Gwen smiled. She didn't wait to have Mr. Zed say they would meditate as everyObe moved their desks. She loved meditating, and it helps her a lot for the short while he had used it. She sat near the wall, her legs crossed and closed her eyes, emptying her mind in a matter of seconds, her hands limply resting on her knees. She focused solely on her breathing, in through her nose and outnquietly through her mouth.

Gwen was completely relaxed and in a restful state until Mr. Zed dismissed them. She stood up, stretching her arms with a small smile. she pulled her schedule out of her bag, smoothing it out, looking it over. "Period two.. Music with Mrs. Dupree.." se said to herself, grabbing a journal before walking out into the hall among the swarm of students.

Looking around for a moment, Gwen racked her brain on which way to go, adjusting her book bag on her back. She finally rememberedthe way, and set off walking, keeping her head low as she weaves through the sea of people. She walked through the door and into the music abd into the music room as quietly as possible. She looked around the room quickly, spotting a girl, Victoria, from her previous class, and a boy in the room along with a few other students. She took a seat near the back, about three seats away from the boy an two behind Victoria.

Setting her bag down and flipping the bangs out of her eyes, Gwen tapped her foot softly, pulling out a composition book and pencil. She flipped a few pages into the book, leanin over it slightly, shadowing the contents of the pages as she wrote. She jotted down music notes, notes for an electric guitar to be exact, and started to slowly wrote lyrics. She enjoyed writinher own songs, but didn't want to be judged for it. She looke up thinking, chewing thoughtfully above her snakebites, her eyes wandering aroun the room, especially at the instruments there. She smiled slightly as se saw a few types of guitars. Realizing she had seemed like she was staring around the room, she ducked her head down and looked at her music book, awaiting quietly for the beginning of class or for the silence to be broken.

((Blah, have to wait till period five to start the drama Gorie :*( ))

Laurel looked up at the clock and right after she noticed it was close to the time to get out, the bell rang and everyone began to jump out of their chairs and rush out of the class. Laurel stood up and looke down at Emiri. "I'll see you later," she said smiling. She was glad she was already making new friends for the new year of school. She was suprised at how easily she made friends here. Back in public school, she was never good at making friends. There were so many mean girls back there, and she was never good with those girls. Most of the girls just got out of the way when they passed by or made a rude comment, but Laurel had a loud mouth and didn't take any of that from them. Sometimes she was compared to them, but Laurel knew she was nothing like them. She wasn't rude to people who didn't do anything to harm her emotionally or physically. But when they gave her a reason, she could be the meanest person you had ever met.

Laurel already knew what her next hour was by memory. It was a PE class. Laurel sighed as she walked down the halls of the school and outside the school. The building for gym was across the garden, and they usually did their activities outside when there was nice weather. She opened the large doors to the building and walked in. The class so far was empty of people completely. She walked over to the benches across the back wall and waited for others to arrive.

Cole layed his head on the desk as he listened to the teacher ramble on about the things that he had no care for. He had made friends with Roman, though he had no idea what he meant when he said his power. He had been sleeping through the class uninterrupted for almost the whole second half of the class until the loud bell rang and he walked out of the room to his next class. It was P.E. He liked any PE classes back home and guessed that the classes weren't much different at a private school. If you called this school that. Maybe a special school, or a gifted school, whatever. He said goodbye to Roman and then walked outside and to the building in the back of the grounds behind the building. He finally reached the building that it told him to go to.

Cole walked in and looked around. The only person in there was Laurel. "You're kidding me," he said. "You?" He made a jokingly disgusted face at her and sat next to her to wait for the other students to come.

"Don't expect me to speak to you here, just because you're my brother," said Laurel. "I know you're alone here, but I can't have you weighting me down."

"Don't worry Laurel, I'll have no problem leaving you alone." Cole leaned over and put his head on his hands watching the door open as students filled in.

Aubrie heard the bell ring. She laughed to herself and said, "Got out of some class. It only feels like I left a few minutes ago, though." She made her way through the hall way, going with the crowd. Knowing her luck, shed be knocked over by someone and step all over. She got back to the class, lucky there were no students in the class room. Aubrie "snuck" by Mr. Klien, or at least she thought she had, grabbed all her stuff and put it in her bag and made her way out the door. 'Now where?' she thought to herself as the second main wave of students made there way in the hall way. "Oh, yeah! Duh, its time for some gym!" She said very happily. Aubrie almost seemed to skip going to her new destination.

"I wonder who is in my class?" She said out loud. Aubrie hoped to have a class with Adam, she hadn't seen him all day. She couldn't seem to remember if they had any classes together, which was really frustrating. She walked in the door. The were only a few students already there. She sat down in the front, but more towards the entrance to the room. She wasn't a big fan a bleachers. She didn't like trying to walk down them. Aubrie always found a way to nearly kill herself, no matter what the task was.

In her time waiting for the rest of the students, Aubrie pulled her hair back into a high ponytail. She hoped she didn't look too lame, but it didn't matter. Then, she pulled out her mirror, and fixed any part of her hair that was messed up. It had to be perfect.

Lilli sat quietly after she had finished everything. She pulled out her list of all her classes, and scanned it for her next class. The bell rung, and it was off to Music with Mrs. Dupree. She liked music class, it was always different each day.

She made it to the room, at last. As she walked in, she recognized a few people. Some she didn't know. Lilli sat down, in the front row, like she usually would. She liked to pay attention, but she wasn't all that good at work. But when it came to music, she was very talented. Her favorite thing to play was the piano. She sat down, and glanced around the room for a bit. Lilli didn't want to have eye contact with anyone yet, so she kept her head lowered, and she stared at her desk.

Skye was about fed up with class, and it was only the first day. She was tired, and she just wanted to survive the day. The last ten minutes or so of class, she just stared at the clock. Wishing she was a time traveler now. She just couldn't wait for the next class, too. Though, she would probably be the only girl in the class, but that meant less drama. That was the way that Skye saw other girls. She never really had any 'girlfriends'. They were always guys, and they all saw her as a guy. At last, the bell rang. All the tension seemed to pore out. She quickly shot up, and ran out the door.

She was about killed in the hallway, getting to her next class. Everyone here seemed tall. Maybe that was because she was really short though? But she finally made it to her class, Weapon Training with Mr. Fenstermacher. This would be exciting. She walked in and looked around. It seemed that she was one of the first to arrive, or maybe the class was just small. She sat down in the middle of the class. She didn't feel like sitting in the front, so the hopefully she wounldn't be first to be called on. But maybe sitting in the middle wasn't a good idea either. She decided to move up a few rows, towards the board, seeing as she left her contacts on her sink. She would probably make this mistake many times in the future, so she decided to move up, but she was still in the middle.

#, as written by Penn88
Gordo suddenly finds himself overwhelmed just seconds after the bell rings. He becomes lost in nostalgia as he wades through the students rushing to their next class, some apparently finding enough time to stop and socialize. His heart beats fiercly but he feels oddly calm as the tide of students becomes more shallow. He closes his eyes as he slips between two taller students, not so much as uttering a thank you as they step aside to let him through.
"I have gym, next," he says to himself as his eyes gaze up and down the hall. "A nice swim... doesn't sound so bad." A passing girl looks at him funny as he talks to himself but he doesn't seem to notice. Gordo turns left and strolls down the hall as if he knows where he is going. Though he does not remember the instructor's name, Gordo is sure he is supposed to have swimming next. He tries to picture the layout of the school and reason where the best place for a gymnasium might be.

Well, he figures, if I happen to find it in time then wading in some water just might do me good. It's too stuffy in here. After a while of wandering the second floor, though Gordo begins to hope that the class does not take place in an outside pool and that he is wandering around for nothing. He sighs and at last decides to head back to his room. At least he knows where that is.

#, as written by X-Fly-X
Fly listened to Mr. Zed's instruction, finding it hard not to laugh. It just seemed like such a hippie thing to do, like emotional yoga or something. But Fly did as she was told, although her idea of comfort seemed very different to everyone else. She had grown up in a circus, she was more flexible than a rubber band. She tried the meditation position that Mr. Zed was demonstrating but it was almost too relaxed, she fidgeted trying to keep her mind from drifting into sleep mode.

She tried curling up in a ball, still no good. She rolled on her back and put her hands behind her head, still too lazy for her. She hugged her knees, she crouched like a frog, she couldn't tell if it was because she was too energetic and these positions weren't enough to stop her fidgeting or over tired and the positions were too relaxed. She frowned, this was going to get embarrassing. She rested on her elbows and kicked her legs into the air, letting them fall forward and touch her head. She knew she looked ridiculous but it was the perfect position, not comfortable enough to fall asleep and not uncomfortable enough to distract her. She let her legs hang there, flexing her toes as they occasionally touched the top of her head. She saw Mr. Zed give her a funny look before asking "Is that really comfortable Fly?" he asked. She nodded, blushing a little as people looked at her.

She breathed evenly, closing her eyes and letting her head rest in her hands. Her hair changed back to the blue with pink streaks she had when she came into class. She let herself zone out, pushing out the negative thoughts away until there was nothing. She had been unsure by what Mr. Zed had meant about becoming more connected to their powers, Fly could already transform with ease, absorption was a little harder. She allowed herself to reflect on that, "absorption" was hard to understand, even for her and it was one of the things that scared her.

Before she knew it Mr. Zed had ended the lesson. She liked the homework, although she hoped she would find a more normal meditation position. She let her legs reach the ground and flipped up to a standing position. She collected her things and picked up a journal. She leaned against the wall next to the bookshelf and pulled out her schedule. "Art" she giggled "I'm liking school so far" she muttered, so far it seemed to be a very "creative" environment, especially after the last lesson.

Personal Power Class with Mr. Zed.

"Yes, we can speak after class,"
"Actually, we should work with this. Right now. We can finish our introductions up quickly, but from there, I have a perfect idea for a lesson - we'll work on what I had planned for today tomorrow."

Jason felt relieved. 'Next time I'll just cover my ears.......I bet I made a really bad impression on some people here.' Jason zoned out for a couple of seconds.

"I want everyone to move the desks to the side of the room. Just put them wherever; I'll move them back after class. I want you to find a place in the room where you feel most comfortable. It has to be somewhere where you can sit down."

The sudden screeching sound of moving tables made Jason "wake up". Jason turned his head and watched everyone moving their desks aside, he imitated them and pushed his own desk towards the wall whilst Mr. Zed began speaking again. And as soon as Mr. Zed said the word "meditation", Jason turned around in surprise and quickly sat at the back-end of the class. 'If meditation is the answer, I'll be able to control my powers in no-time!' Jason thought excitedly whilst Mr. Zed taught everyone how to meditate. Jason didn't listen, as he had his own techniques to concentrate and meditate. Although he was a bit rusty and not as flexible as he used to be, Jason kneeled on his lower legs and tucked his feet under his buttocks, pointing his toes backwards. He let his hands rest on his knees.

Jason watched as others were positioning themselves, one girl in particularly. The girl rested on her elbows while her toes touched her head. It was quite amusing to watch her, maybe even memorizing her position and test it out sometime. It sure was interesting to watch everybody positioning themselves, but Jason was eager to meditate. He turned his head so it will face the wall ahead of him and inhaled deeply from his nose, exhaling from his mouth.

It was a matter of a second or two. Jason was already in his own world. Though he couldn't last for long and as soon as he opened his eyes Mr. Zed began speaking once again.

Grab one before you leave..."
"Class will be over in 5 minutes anyway, so you can all talk for now..."

Jason sighed and slowly pushed himself off the floor, slightly stretching his legs while doing so. He then walked over towards the bookshelf, which was actually very close to him, and grabbed one of the journals that were placed there. Others have also come to grab a journal, so Jason quickly walked away from the bookshelf. He pulled out his class schedule and checked where he needs to be when the current class will end. 'Swimming.....There's no way I'm going to screw up there......' He thought.

Period two. Great Hall.

Jason folded the schedule and placed it back inside his pocket. The bell rang, noting everyone that the current class is over and that it's now period two. Jason set off out of the room and made his way through the hallway, down the stairs until he reached the first floor. He then walked outside of the building and stopped in his place. 'Shit. Where's the pool?' Jason leaned a bit forwards and searched for a swimming pool. 'Crap. I'll go back to the hall and ask the people passing there....' Jason walked back inside the building and stood at the center, waiting for someone to pass by.

Period 1:Mr Zed Personal Power Class

Luzia was sitting on her desktwriling a piece of thread from her jeans, around her finger, instead of actually paying attention to the teacher. She was awakened by the sound of metal chairs meeting floor and screeching of lazy people dragging their table and chair along the floor.
"Stupid people." She quietly muttered to herself as she stretched, getting up and slowly put her own desk and chair by the side of the room, just as everyone else had been doing. She wanted to find her place by the window, but unfortunately there wasn't a wide enough ledge for her to sit on and the radiator didn''t seem like the most comfortable place to be. So instead she settled for the second best, the closest space to the door leading out to the hallways. She sat down, both of her legs on each side of her, and her arms, that were holding the top half of her body weight, were placed flat on the floor behind her. Instead of meditating she just looked at everyone else, looking strange and listened to what everyone was actually thinking about.
It wasn't too long before Luzia roly-polied and stood up, after Mr Zed had told them the lesson was over. She walked over to the bookshelf and picked the oldest looking one there, even though they all looked rather new. She shrugged as she picked up her bag, slung it over her left shoulder and left the classroom, glad she was going to a smallish normal class that would remind Luzia that she's not too far from the said 'normal'. She was walking through the hallways slowly, trying to sneak her way past the traffic jam, considering that it was lesson change.

Period 2:Miss Slane Maths
She got to her classroom and walked into the room, making her way closer to the board than she was before. For some reason maths intrigued her, and she didn't really have to put that much effort into the multiplication, addition and the basic math equations, however it had been difficult for her recently, adding another reason for her picking maths. She sat on her chair, getting out her pencil case and notebook, ready for the lesson to begin.

Period Two: Dead Languages: Latin

"Salve, class! Salve!" The teacher greeted them each as they filed through the door to find their seats with the traditional latin greeting: Salve (Pronounced Sal-wey. 'v's are pronounced like 'w's in the word water in most latin words).

Kells smiled halfway and found his seat by the window. He stared out dreamily at the Rhode Island forest and the fall colors that had begun to turn. Kells didn't mind Latin. It just seemed rather mundane after a class like the one he just had. After such an ordeal had transpired, he felt surreal learning about something his parents had taught him. Kells glanced at the book. It was read and the title read: ECCE ROMANI I. A grin cracked his lips and kells thought Look!...Romans! He turned to the first page and saw the picture of two girls sitting under a tree with books. There was a villa in the background and it was sunny. Kells became lost in the translation and missed what the teacher said entirely.

The first lines: Ecce! In pictura est puella, nomine Cornelia. Cornelia est puella Romana quae in Italia habitat. Etiam in pictura est villa rustica ubi Cornelia aestate habitat.

Kells realized he was in the wrong class level. Or perhaps it became harder over the course of the year. He read the Latin quietly to himself easily,

"Look! In the picture is a girl, named Cornelia. Cornelia is a Roman girl who lives in Italy. Also in the picture is a country house where Cornelia lives."

His gaze drifted again from the page. After the meditation his mind had been elsewhere. Kells seemed drawn to those woods. The free time at the end of the day seemed years away with such a desire within walking distance. It was odd. Kells was here at his first day of school- cause for a jubilant excitement to meet new people and new classes and teachers. Meet people who wouldn't judge him for Pangerbaum or any other reason, but he had a sudden fascination with that place. It was like a ringing noise you can't quite place that seems to get to y-It stopped. Suddenly the class and the teacher snapped into abrupt clarity. The fog on his concentration was lifted.

Heck, I even went to bed early last night..Wierd. Kells continued his focus, wondering if he shouldn't go to the teacher after class and ask to be moved up.

Ding

The sound of the bell prematurely cut the boundless debate between the growing student factions and the instructor. Roman didn't mind, he hadn't enjoyed the class as much as he had hoped to and blamed it on a group of students with inferior minds and misdirected hopes. He got up from his chair, flung his bag over his shoulder , and made his exit from the room with no regard for other students in his way. Step on a few feet here, bump a few kids there, it wasn't a big deal.
Next class, music? thought Roman as he ran down his schedule and saw that Music was indeed his next class. He walked down the halls and ended upon a room full of instrument cases and instruments in stands. The scene of the room was notable in comparison to that of the room he had been in during first period. The room was with taller ceilings, framed beautifully by silver and gold trimmed molding. The room was of a moderate dome shape and gave the impression of a room with good acoustics. As Roman stepped foot into the room, the reverberation of just his shoes let him know that his prediction had indeed been correct. He made his way to the seats, and again took a seat in the dead middle of the dead middle of the classroom. Psychologically he was moderate, nothing could be told about his personality other than the obvious from just his seating.
