Gilbert Fenmarsh

Not enough good places in Wonderland that you had to trespass in the marsh?

a character in “Alice in Wonderland: The Deck”, as played by RolePlayGateway

Name: Gilbert ("Gil") Fenmarsh
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Race: Human
Side: Clubs
Role: Prince of Clubs
Location: Swamplands of Wonderland
Orientation: Straight
Status: Single
Crush: tba

Gil is very pale, with an extraordinarily broad, almost frog-like mouth and small eyes, a wide nose, but not hideously disproportionate. He's fairly stocky, standing at 5'11", with short black hair. He dresses in smart clothes with are nevertheless usually quite dirty and worn out, which comes largely with the territory.

Gil is an extraordinarily chilled out, inert sort of person, who enjoys the nartural distinction that the swampland provides. Few outsiders come in, and that's the way he likes it. He loves to laze around near the mudhole vapours, listening to his entourage play jazz and delta blues, and generally doing as little as possible. He's pretty aloof even with his own subjects, rarely giving out either praise or criticism, and instead just letting everyone live and let live, as long as they're not causing him any inconvenience. And even if someone does insult or inconvenience him, he'll execute swift vengeance alright, but he'll always get someone else to do the hard work of executing it!

Evil habit - The Club Kingdom doesn't welcome travellers, and anyone who is caught, or who gets lost in the swamp - unless they prove to be interesting or useful - is generally subjected to being 'dunked' in the mudhole, where they are left stuck in the mud up to their neck until someone pays a ransom to get them back. This is a large part of where the kingdom gets it's supplies of food and other things which are hard to find in the swamps.

Jazz and blues
The intoxicating vapours of the mud-hole
Lazing around
Root vegetables
Bourbon whiskey

Hard work
People trying to be clever
Intruders into the swampland
Hostility from others (it makes you have to get off your butt and do something)

Hobbies: [At least 3]

Playing the double bass (though he'd rather listen to someone else playing it)
Dunking trespasser's in the swamp
Watching his personal band perform
Playing dominoes

The house of clubs has always been reclusive and enigmatic, living in the difficult wetlands of Wonderland. Everyone keeps to themselves and is left to their own devices. So much so that Gil didn't even realise he was royalty until the other kingdoms started puffing their chests out. So now he's taken the throne, and his main objective is to try to avoid getting involved in the upcoming battles and disputes. However, he knows that may be wishful thinking, so he's prepared to go to battle if it means that afterwards he can be left in peace.

His castle subjects consist of a wide variety of creatures, but the workhorses of his entourage are ten foot tall, thin mushroom-type people with no faces and long slender arms.
