Full Name
"Hey, we don't pick our names." Kittrina Aliss Del [ Kih-tree-nuh | Uh-lyss | Del ]

Nickname
"I don't care, call me what you want." Kittrina has many nicknames, because her name can be shortened a lot of different ways. The most popular are Kitty or Kat, but others call her Kit, Trina, or even Katie or Kate. He calls her his Kitten, something that really gets on her nerves sometimes, but she has to admit she secretly likes it and never let's anyone else call her that unless she's looking to make him jealous. She doesn't mind what you call her though, as long as it's not rude or stupid, and she actually really likes pet names like baby or babe, even though she'll pretend they piss her off. Her baby sister used to call her Kita, so this is the only name no one else may ever use. Ever. She refuses to let anyone use the name, and, if they do, she'll easily punch the person hard enough to knock out a tooth. If someone makes the mistake of using this name on their first time meeting her, she let's it slide, seeing as they were unaware, but if they continue to do this, she gets angry quickly.

Age
"Too young to do anything fun. Legally, anyway." Seventeen years-old.

Gender
"Asshole." Female, obviously.

Role
"Trapped on this stupid ranch." Girl 2

❝The Disguise❞

Eye color
"Everyone says they're amazing. I don't really care." Kitty's eyes are a bright, stunning shade of aqua. They stand out sharply against her tanned skin and caramel hair. They tend to capture people, and she gets a lot of comments on them so she typically wears shades to hide them. Another reason for her shades is, if you know anything about Kitty, you'll know that the best way to find out what she's truly feeling or thinking is by looking into her eyes. They're a dead giveaway, and as easy to read as a book, so she hides them.

Hair Color
"Don't feel bad, it confuses a lot of people." Kitty's hair is hard to place. It's directly between blond and brown. In some lights, you can see her highlights and it looks like blonde with streaks of darker color in it, but in other lights it looks like the lightest of browns possible. It mostly depends on the light, but also the season, as the summer sun tends to bleach her hair and make it much lighter than usual, and in the winter, the lack of constant sunshine makes the highlights fade and makes it seem darker. Kitty's hair is very long as she's never cut it, and she loves it. It hangs all the way down to her hips in soft slight waves. When she straightens it, it's even longer. Sometimes, she likes to add bright colors to her hair and currently, has a few streaks of hot pink mixed in.

Skin Tone
"I'm always out in the sun." Kit's skin tone is lightly tanned, almost the same shade of her hair in the winter. Her skin is naturally like this, so she remains tanned all year round, even in the dead of winter. In summer, she tans easily and can get quite dark. She always has tan lines in the summer, seeing as she spends almost all of her time outside.

Height & Weight
"I may be small, but I pack a punch." Kitty is rather petite, standing at a height of only 5'4" and weighing only 103 lbs. She may be small, but don't underestimate her. She's a little spitfire and can pack a huge punch.

Distinct Markings
"Most of my scars are internal." Kittrina has a love for tattoos as well as various scars and piercings. She's an artistic person, and as such, she thoroughly believes in decorating her body, but only if they hold meaning.
Piercings
First, she has her belly button pierced. On her right ear she has a triple helix with it also pierced all the way up. Her left ear has one lobe piercing, a single helix, and five cartilage piercings. She also has her her left collarbone pierced.
Scars
When it comes to scars, she has a few noticeable ones, and some that are not as noticeable. First of all, from working on the ranch and riding all the time, her hands are slightly scared. Not ugly, noticeable scars, but thin white lines. She also has a small burn scar on each of her palms. She has three scars that are somehwhat noticeable, which she always does her best to hide. One is small, and on her right temple. She hides it with her hair, but if you were to move her hair, it could easily be seen. This she got from her birth father. Another of her scars is somewhat large and runs up her left thigh. Not all the way, but big enough to be seen. This she got from Jay J. They had a huge fight, and her shoved her, causing her to crash into a glass coffee table, shattering it, and lodging a large shard in her thigh. That night he rushed her to the hospital and stayed there with her the entire night apologizing over and over again. She lost a lot of blood and had to get quite a few stitches. She knows he didn't intend to hurt her, but when they argue she likes throwing it in his face. Her third scar is a burn scar behind her right ear. Other than this, she has various small scars, but nothing horrible or noticeable.
Tattoos
When it comes to tattoos, she has quite a few. Her first sits between her shoulder blades and reads: I am the hero of this story. I don't need to be saved. Just under this, in the same print is a small date. The date her family died. No one knows what this means besides her. Her second tattoo is actually a double tattoo and they sit on the insides of her wrists reading, on the left: Soul of a Lion. Because lions are strong and fearless, on the right wrist it reads: Heart of a panther because panthers are mysterious ad aloof. Her third tattoo is a paintbrush on the side of her middle finger. Her third tattoo is a quote that sits on her left ribs in a curled font, reading: "This world is the canvas to our imagination." Her fourth tattoo is another quote that sits along the waistline of her jeans and reads: "Dance is the gateway to the soul." In a straight line, in the same font as the one between her shoulders. Kitty's fifth and final tattoo sits on the back of her neck, under her hair and is a black image of a horse.

"I fear myself."
☠ Being alone - The idea of being alone frightens Kitty. It's not so much that she gets lonely, it's more that she doesn't like to be left to nothing but her own thoughts, memories, and emotions. This is why she's always surrounding herself with people. She craves attention, but she also needs people to be there as a sort of distraction.
☠ Losing herself - Kittrina has various mental illnesses, and she greatly fears losing herself to them. That they'll consume her, and she won't be able to make it back to the surface.
☠ Love - Kitty has serious commitment issues. This is one of the reasons her and Jessie always argued. Neither of them were very good at relationships, and she's afraid that love means she'd have to depend on someone else. The only person she truly trusts is herself.
☠ Fire - She lost her whole family to fire
☠ Thunderstorms - Something about them frightens her to death.

Misunderstood
[ mis-uhn-der-stood ]
Adjective

1. Improperly understood or interpreted.
2. Unappreciated
3. Misinterpreted or mistaken

"Sure I like to be left alone sometimes, but ask anyone, I'm the most confident person you'll meet." Kittrina is quite a complicated person. She's got layers to her that go deep. The best way to describe her is to describe the girl on the outside, the one everyone around her sees, and the girl on the inside. The one she keeps to herself and herself only.

On the outside, Kitty is wild and rebellious. She's a free spirit and does what she wants to, when she wants to, no questions asked. She doesn't take orders well, and is always looking for ways to defy authority, as she has serious problems with others being able to control her. She once told a cop to choke on his donuts. When someone tells her she can't do something, she does it. It's as though she's always trying to prove that she can't be controlled. That she refuses to be tamed.

Her friend's call her crazy, because she's fearless. She's absolutely willing to do anything. She has no boundaries. This can often be a bad thing, for it gets her into trouble. A lot. But it also makes for some fun times, as she's virtually inable to turn down any form of dare, bet, or challenge.

Kitty is also well-liked. She's quite a popular girl. She's rich, is a local, and worldwide celebrity, not only for her riding, but her dancing as well, and she's rather charming. She knows how to charm people. Knows how to make them like her. And people tend to be attracted to her confident, fearless attitude. She's the kind of girl who lights up a party, and people generally want to be around her.

One thing that others don't necessarily like about her is her mouth though, for it often gets her in trouble. Seeing as she's so fearless, she possesses virtually no filter whatsoever. She's absolutely unafraid to tell it how it is, and often, this can come across as bitchy. She'll tell you if you're ugly, to your face. She won't hide it. She speaks her mind, saying whatever comes to it. The good thing about this though is, you know, with her, there's no bullshit. She won't pretend to like you. If she doesn't like you, you'll know.

Kitty likes her popularity in school, because it keeps her surrounded by people at all times. She craves attention and affections as, most of her life, she's gone without it. This makes her willing to do nearly anything to get it, though she's no idiot. If a guy is trying to take advantage of her need for love, she'll know. She may not stop it, but she's no fool. She knows he doesn't really love her. When it comes to love, Kitty isn't exactly sure if she's capable of it at all. Sure, she loves her mother, and she loves her step-sister, and she used to love her siblings, but that's different. That sort of love is easy. It's the romantic type that she has troubles with. The closest she ever came to love was Jessie, and that ended up a disaster. At every turn, love ends up disappointing her.

Kit is also a notorious party animal. She's the life of the party nearly everytime, and is always looking for more parties to attend. She used to simply indulge herself in her art when she was feeling emotional, but Jessie's habits have rubbed off on her and so now, she's an avid smoker, drinker, partier, and drug user. Sometimes, she's ashamed of herself for, she knows that, even though he did all the same things, Jessie would be upset to find out she's fallen onto the same track. When he left, it hurt her terribly. She'll never admit it, and claims she hates him with every ounce of her being, but she misses him terribly. He was the only person who ever understood her, and, now that he's gone, she is forced to turn to other forms of distraction, love, and escape.

All of this wild, rebellious, confidence, however, is only the beginning of Kitty. It goes much deeper than that.

Underneath, she is deeply troubled. Her past was harsh, and she walked away with more than just phsyical scars. When she was fifteen, just after her mother married D'Angelo, before she met Jessie, she attempted suicide. Her parents rushed her to the hospital, and there, they found out she has depression, anxiety, and paranoia. She was put on multiple medications for it.

She likes to keep this part of her to herself, but the therapist she used to go to claimed that her wild-child attitude was all a way of her screaming for someone to notice. For someone to realize there was something deeply wrong. Her partying, drugs, and constant boyfriends are all a form of escape for her. If she's always high, she won't feel anything, if she always has people around her, she won't have time to think about her problems, and if there's always loud music pounding in her ears, she can't concentrate on life.

Kitty also has other, less destructive escapes though. She used to rely on these and these only before Jessie left, but afterwards, they just didn't seem to cut it. She's extremely artistic. In school, she was always horrible at grades. She failed almost every math class she's ever taken, and was even in the special classes. She's only 17, and has dropped out of school, deciding to fall back on her riding career instead.

Her other forms of freedom are art, dance, and riding. If you can't find her, your best bet is either her studio, or the stables. Her studio is a building behind the barn her step-father built specifically for her. The whole bottom floor is a dance studio, and the walls are covered in mirrors. The top floor is all sliding glass, ceiling to floor windows, save for one wall, which she painted her self. It's a huge collage of small pictures. The top floor is her art studio. It has a blacony running all the way around it so she can paint or draw outside if she'd like, or she could work inside.

When she starts to feel upset, this is where she retreats. This is her private place, and she very rarely let's people in, as it's like walking straight into her heart. Her dancing is an expression of emotion, just as her artwork is. It's like getting a front row seat to the inside of Kitty, and she usually tries to hide this, as she's very locked-down. She refuses to show any real emotion to anyone around her. If they know her, they know to look at her eyes, but if not, all you see is a highly sassy, rebellious rich girl.

History
"Fuck off, asshole." Kittrina hasn't always had it as easy as she does now. She wasn't always a rich girl and she wasn't always popular. One thing has remained consistent though. Her love for horses. She learned to ride her first horse at the age of 3 and ever since then, she's been completely attached to the animals.

Kitty's mother's name is Missy Del, and her birth father's was Greg Del. She was not the only child of the Del family, however. In fact, she had a baby sister, an older brother, and a twin. They had a full household.

However, not a very happy one. Kitty's father was a cruel man, and very abusive to everyone in the family. One of the things that drew Kitty to Jessie at first was their common background, for they'd both had abusive fathers. The man was horrible, and was both mentally and physically abusive. Kitty grew up believing that she was a worthless piece of shit, nothing better than a punching bag. When her older brother got old enough, he started to protect the younger ones from their father, but it wasn't always effective, and they still had to sit through the trauma of their brother telling off and beating up their father.

When she was eleven, her father beat her on the side of the head with a fire poker for standing up for her twin, and it split her head open. The doctors told them that she was lucky no to have permanent brain damage. Or worse. If she hadn't have been rushed to the hospital at that instant, she would have died. The incident left a scar on her temple.

Next door to them, lived an old woman who owned a ranch. Kit's family was poor, so she couldn't afford a horse, but, to escape her rough household, she would often go over to the woman's house and ask to ride the horses. The lady saw the bruises on the young girl, and heard the nightly screaming and fighting from the house. She knew everything, and the least she could do was allow the girl an escape. So she did. Horses became Kitty's safe haven, and she went over to her neighbors more and more frequently.

She was there when it happened.

Her home caught on fire, and Kit immediately rushed home. She was twelve at the time, and didn't even think. She rushed straight into the fire. She grabbed a burning piece of wood, giving her burn scars on her palms, and another fell on her head and almost killed her, giving her the burn scar behind her ear. She managed to find her mother and drag her from the house, but that was all. The rest of her family had died in the inferno.

The next year of her life was tragic as well, for Kit and her mother bounced from town to town, her mother constantly dating abusive assholes, but that first home of hers had left her with more emotional scars than she could count, and she came away with depression, anxiety, and paranoia.

Only nobody knew she was battling these things.

Then her mother married. It was a very fast wedding. It seemed that her mother was so happy that she'd finally found a good man, she was refusing to let him go this time. Shortly after the marriage, when she was fifteen years-old, Kitty attempted suicide by swallowing a handful of pills. Her step-sister was the one who found her, delirious and puking her guts up, and her parents instantly rushed her to the hospital.

They were able to save her, but the doctors had said it was an extremely close call, and they put her on several medications, forced her through multiple in-patient and out-patient therapies, and watched her like a hawk for months. This whole episode is one of the reasons her step-sister is protective of her. She may be a year younger than her, but she knows how Kit really is, and so she's always trying to protect her from destroying herself. Her parents and Nikota are the only ones who know that this happened. She hasn't even told Jessie, for she's afraid of what he might think of her.

When she finally came home was when she met him. Jessie.

Maybe she was attracted to bad boys because of her mother, or maybe she was just really love-starved, but she fell hard. It was near the end of her fifteenth year, and throughout her sixteenth. They were explosive, and fought often, but their make-ups were even more explosive, and worth 20 of their fights. She hated everything about him, but loved everything about him at the same time. She'd never experienced anything like it, and she was willing to do anything he wanted her to. Not because she was stupid, but because she found him exciting and dangerous. So she started getting into some of the bad habits he was into.

And then he just vanished.

Just after her seventeenth birthday, he disappeared out of no where, leaving her nothing but memories. At first, she cried, then she got extremely pissed, and now, she claims she hates him, but apart of her knows that all her acting out is because she misses him so much. She hasn't seen him in a year and a lot about her has changed since then, now her father insists on letting him work on the ranch, and she's dreading it more than anything, but she has to say that part of her is a little excited to see him again. If not to make up, then to beat the shit out of him for leaving her with no explanation whatsoever.

❝Closer than close❞

Horse(s)
"They are my life. And the main subject of my artwork." Kitty's horses (all but one) came from the same place. The lady who used to live next door to her. After her family died, the woman felt so unbearably bad for her, that she all but gave Kit three of her horses. Her and her mother always had a hard time paying for the animals, and her abusive boyfriends weren't always nice to them, but they managed, and Kit literally grew up with her horses.

Velvet Mascarade
Image
Velvet, Kit's first horse, is the closest to her heart, and her favorite of the four. He is kind and gentle with her, but has a wild, untamable side. He won't let anyone else but her ride him, and has the heart of a wild horse. He's run away from the barn many times, and the ranch workers have come to her many times with the idea of finding a new home for him, but she refuses. He's her wild beast, and she'll keep him where she wants. She finds him perfect in every way, and connects with him better than she's connected with any human. He is loyal to her, and loves her back just as much as she loves him. He's kind to her when she's hurt, and seems to understand when she's upset, always willing to comfort her. The only other person he actually likes is Niki. While he wont let her ride him, he does trust her, because he seems to be able to understand that Kit trusts her. A lot of people call Velvet a dumb horse, because that's how he acts sometimes, but she doesn't think he is. She thinks he's the smartest horse she's ever known.

Weeping Willow

Image
Willow is Kittrina's sweetheart. This mare is the kindest creature you will ever know. Kit calls her the Gentle Giant, because she has a big heart. She's very fond of the barn animals and other horses. There's not much to say about her, but that she's extremely sweet and trusts everyone. She was rescued from a terrible family who neglected and abused her, so she's also very shy and sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, but one thing you can always be sure of, is that, if you're kind to her, she'll return the favor. Her favorite snack is sugar cubes, and Kitty often jokes that she is what she eats.

King Lionheart
Image
Lion is one of Kitty's favorite horses. He's strong, and capable, and very brave. He's much like Velvet, though a little wiser, and more tame. He's good with children and other animals, and will let others ride him, though he obviously still prefers Kitty over anyone else. He's the horse she picks when she just wants to ride and get lost because he's sturdy and brave beneath her, and when she's feeling lost and frightened, he's always reassuring to have around. She loves him dearly just as he loves her.

Salt and Pepper
Image
Pepper, Kitty's pony, is her baby. He's a troublemaker, and kind of dimwitted, but he can do no wrong in her eyes. He's always getting into the food and eating extra, and causing trouble with horses twice his size. He's kind of goofy, and wild, but he's sweet to people, and curious about everything, excited to explore the world. When he first arrived, he followed each horse around for a week, trying to figure them out. He's Kit's adorable ball of energy.

Brick by Boring Brick
By Paramore
She lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of the world that she's left behind
It's all about the exposure the lens I told her
The angles were all wrong now
She's ripping wings off of butterflies

Keep your feet on the ground
When your head's in the clouds
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Ba da ba ba da ba ba ha

So one day he found her crying
Coiled up on the dirty ground
Her prince finally came to save her
And the rest you can figure out
But it was a trick
And the clock struck twelve
Well make sure to build your house brick by boring brick
Or the wolf's gonna blow it down

Keep your feet on the ground
When your head's in the clouds
Well go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
We'll bury the castle, bury the castle

Well you built up a world of magic
Because your real life is tragic
Yeah you built up a world of magic
If it's not real
You can't hold it in your hand
You can't feel it with your heart
And I won't believe it
But if it's true
You can see it with your eyes
Oh, even in the dark
And that's where I want to be, yeah

Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle
Go get your shovel
And we'll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle, bury the castle

Save Yourself
By My Darkest Days
I’m the devil’s son straight out of hell
And you’re an angel with a haunted heart
If you’re smart you’d run and protect yourself
From the demon living in the dark
There’s nothing to be gained cause I can never change
And you can never understand my sickness
(I’ll never understand my sickness)

Save yourself
From a life full of lies and a heart full of pain and sorrow
Save yourself
From the choices I make cause nothing but failure follows me
Save yourself

You’re the perfect drug when it hurts like hell
I've never needed anyone so much
There’s no-one else I love and I curse myself
Cause the right thing is to give you up

I’m overcome by shame cause I can never change
And you can never understand my sickness
(I’ll never understand my sickness)

Kittrina watched as he struggled, taking a long time, though for once, she didn't push him. She knew this was hard for him. She watched as he traced the place where he'd had her name tattooed, and waited patiently for him to speak. If he didn't say anything, Kitty wasn't sure what she would do, but it would hurt more than anything, so she stood there, almost empty vodka bottle hanging forgotten at her side while she waiting for his answer.

His lips moved, but she didn't hear the words that had come out. The waves whisked them away from her, and for a moment, she almost cried, but then he spoke up again, louder this time. “I’m sorry Kittrina.” Kitty grinned and closed her eyes, drinking in the words, letting them replay in her mind. If felt good to hear that from him. She wasn't sure she'd ever heard it.

As many times as they fought, she'd only ever heard it once. The time where he'd pushed her into the coffee table and split her leg open, almost killing her. That night, at the hospital, he'd apologized over and over again. With her eyes closed, she absentmindedly fingered the scar on her thigh. Funny how she had to be close to death for her to get him to say he was sorry.

His fingers on her arm made her open her eyes again, and he pulled her forward, like he'd done at the house, only this time, he didn't let her go. He pulled her to him and wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her there. Her heart pounded, and she bit her lip, knowing where this was going. The bottle in her hands slipped from her grip, dropping to the sand with a dull thud, forgotten.

Gently, he moved some hair from her face, and Kitty smiled lightly. She loved when he was passionate and wild with her, but he was very rarely gentle with her, so it was nice when he was. He kissed her forehead, then grabbed both sides of her face with his hands. She smiled and reached for him, balling her hands into fists in his shirt and pulling him close.

Then he kissed, her and she melted. It was hard and desperate, like she was going to disappear any moment, but it was also tender and gentle. Like she was a fragile doll. She moaned softly into the kiss and leaned into him. It felt so damn good to kiss him again. It felt like too long since she'd last done so, and she never wanted to stop.

He was the first to pull away, pulling her close, leaving her out of breath and stunned. She wrapped her arms around him and pulled herself tightly to her chest. “I’ll fix us.” He promised her. “If it’s the last thing I do.”

Kitty laughed lightly against him. "I know you Jessie. There's no fixing us. We'll be broken again in less than a day." She said, shaking her head and leaning back to look at him.

"Now for the love of god would you please let me take you to the hospital or back home at least?" Kitty bit her lip. She was a little less drunk now. If anything, she was drunk on that kiss, not the liquor, and her head was still pounding, despite the rush she'd just gotten.

She looked up into his eyes. He'd never really told her why he'd left, but he didn't have to. She saw the fear in his eyes. He'd left because he was afraid. Though whether he was afraid of her or afraid of what he might turn her into, she had no idea. Either way though, she had to laugh. His leaving, had backfired on him. She'd turned into exactly what he was trying to avoid.

"Not the hospital." She said, touching her head gently. It wasn't bleeding anymore, it just hurt. The last place she wanted to go was the hospital. She doubted Jessie would tell them everything, but still... If he did, she'd be admitted to more therapies than she could count, and she didn't want to go through that again. "Not that shit again." She whispered, more to herself than to him before looking up at him. "Just home, please?" She asked, her eyes earnestly pleading with him not to take her to the hospital despite the fact that her head was pounding, and she could barely walk without tripping.

The ride to the hospital was quiet, but tense. You could cut the tension in the cab with a knife. Dustin sat in the back, Niki was laying down across the passenger seat, head in his lap, and Mr. & Mrs. D'Angelo followed him closely in there own car. There was fear in the car as well so much that, it too, could be cut with a knife.

At least Dustin kept his mouth shut. If the kid tried to threaten him again, he wasn't sure what he'd do.

Once at the hospital, they took her away, and Dustin, the D'Agnelos, and him had to sit for what seemed an agonizingly long time, waiting for the results before the nurse finally came out.

She told them what had happened, and he'd caught Dustin's dirty look. He cursed himself under his breath. This was his fault. His stupid fault. He shouldn't have kissed her. Or... After he had, he shouldn't have taken it back. He doubted she wanted to see him. Doubted she really wanted to see anybody.

So he sat back and nudged her father. "You go in first. You're her father." He said as he sat back in one of the waiting chairs again. If she wanted to see him, she would ask for him.

Dustin sat next to him. "This is your fault you know." He said, this time it was less threatening, more matter-of-fact.

Damien nodded. "Yeah." He groaned. "I know, kid." He dropped his face into his hands, and sat back, blaming himself. He had half a mind to get up and take off. He hated seeing people in pain, especially when the cause was him. That's what he'd done the last time. Niki had been hurt by those men and Mrs. D'Angelo killed because he hadn't been there. It had freaked him out so he'd left.

He wouldn't do that again though. He had to be there this time, and not let Dustin swoop in and replace him.
Again.

It was true, Nikota didn’t want to see anyone, especially her father. How could she do that to him, she was being selfish and there was no telling how tortured he’d been, first his wife then his daughter. She groaned a bit wishing she could go back to last night and instead of turning into a complete freak, she should have taken a breath and just slept it off. Then there was Damien who she was sure was beating himself up about this whole thing, she could have stopped him to she was Just as much at fault for what had happened. Her monitor beeped bringing her from her thoughts, she just wanted to go home not be here, here was the last damn place she wanted to be.

She heard a soft knock at the door, her eyes falling on her father. Underneath his eyes were dark as if he hadn’t slept and worry lines were present more so on his aged face.

“Daddy I
” he held a hand up interrupting her.

“Your alive, that’s all that counts don’t apologize. I’m not upset with you, this is something that couldn’t be helped. Your sister’s went missing to. Maybe me bringing Jessie back wasn’t the best idea.” He said sitting down next to her, placing his hand in her, she was cold almost as if she was dead and she more than likely almost was.

“Kitty’s missing?!” she gasped “We have to find her!” she glanced around as if mapping out how to escape.

“Relax Nik, Jessie text me a few moments ago, there headed back to the house now.” She let out a breath of relief at her father’s words, no she was just worried about her sister more than anything. Had she been smart she’d have been able to be there for Kitty instead of Jessie, she let out a small huff. Her father decide against telling her what the doctor had said about putting her back on her meds and making her go back to therapy, he figured that’s the last thing she wanted to hear. “La Mia Bella” he started with a smile “Your mother and I are going to head back home and check on your sister, Dustin and Damien are waiting to see you. One of them will more than likely be staying with you if you have to stay overnight.” He sighed not exactly wanting to leave his daughter in this condition, but he had even seen Kit and she was his daughter to by blood or not and there wasn’t much more he could do for Niki.

Nikota knotted “You should get some rest, you look tired.” She said softly “I love you.” She said as he kissed her forehead.
“Anch'io ti amo bambina.” Her father said in Itatlian, she understood most of the langauage, but she wouldn’t say she was fluet like Damien and her father.

“Dad” she called to him just before he closed the door “I want to see DJ. Not Dusty.” To this her father was suprised, but he nodded.

Making his way back out to the waiting room he galnced between the two boys, he could feel the tension between them. “I don’t know what’s gotten into you two.” He said standing in front of the boys “But you better sure as hell get over it.” Mr. D’ Angelo said almost thretening the two. “She wants to see you.” Dustin automadically assumed this meant him, he stood up but her father stopped him “Not you, Damien.” He saidglancing to Damien.

He heard her say they’d be broken again in less then a day and he was relived that she had been the one to say it. Her request to go home instead of the hospital wasn’t a surprise to him, he nodded and picked her up once again. The tide had gone down enough now they could simply walk around the rock wall now. He carried her, with ease across the beach and back to the car opening the passenger side door, setting her down gently.

“Jay?” he heard a voice call from behind “Jessie Blackburn.” He debated on whether or not to turn around and knowledge the person, he wasn’t sure if this person was a threat to him or not. He looked straight into Kittrina’s eyes.

“Don’t move Kitten, don’t get out of the car.” He said in a low voice, before closing the door and turning to face the person.
He left out a breath of relief realizing it was one of his old friends or drug dealer who he use to hang around with before he left. They did there old hand shake that seemed stupid to Jessie now, but never the less he did it. They talked for a bit, Jessie telling him why he was back and where he was staying and just carrying on friendly conversation.

“Fuck Jay J, I thought you were never coming back” Jessie winced at the nickname, he hated it, but had used it as a sort of ales. “You and Kitty Kat at it again.”he asked, Jessie clenched his fist as he called her that he didn’t exactly like other guys, drug dealers nicknaming her. To everyone in his world she was his girl whether or not they were together and everyone knew better then to mess with her. The man could odiously see how agitated Jessie had become. “Well listen man it was nice seeing you, give me a call, you know i’ll hook you up.” He smirked handing a slip of paper to Jessie. He shoved it in his pocket, he would more then likely be using that later.

He made his way to the drivers side of the Jeep hopping in, shoving the keys into the ignition and backing out.

Kitty smiled as he lifted her in his arms. It's funny how, when she was sober and he was on something, they couldn't function for their lives, but when Jessie was sober and she was drunk, they actually acted like a couple should. Well.. As close as they could get anyway.

He carried her to the jeep and set her down gently before a voice called him from behind. Kitty noticed the way he tensed up, and suddenly she was struck with fear. Who did he possibly think was behind him? Jessie was a dangerous guy, she knew that, but she wasn't afraid of him. That part of him excited her. She was afraid of his friend however, for, unlike Jessie, she didn't know them. They wouldn't go easy on her like Jessie would.

“Don’t move Kitten, don’t get out of the car.” She nodded, eyes wide, though she knew if Jessie was in danger, there was no way in hell she was sitting in the car helplessly.

As soon as he'd turned around, she crawled over to the drivers side and looked out the window, watching as Jessie approached a man she remembered vaguely as Jessie's friend. She watched their conversation, wondering how the hell he'd found them there, on the beach in the morning.

She couldn't hear what they were saying, but it didn't matter. She knew the man was a drug dealer, and it kind of irritated Kitty. When he turned away, she quickly slid back into her seat before he caught her eavesdropping and kicked her feet up on the dashboard as they drove home.

"It's Thursday." She said absentmindedly. "Party's tomorrow." She turned her head and smiled at Jessie. She loved parties, even though she had no doubt in her mind shit would go down, it was a good way to distract yourself from the hardships of daily life.

Damien stood as Mr. D'Angelo came out and threatened them to knock off whatever rivalry was going on between them.

Damien looked at Dustin, not sure that was possible, but Mr. D had asked it, so Damien would try. “She wants to see you.” This made Damien sit down, and Dustin stand up. They both assumed the same thing. “Not you, Damien.”

Damien looked up, stunned that she wanted to see him, but not about to refuse.

He stood and went into her room, gently closing the door behind him. She looked small on the hospital bed, and again, he blamed himself for this. He went over and dragged a chair up next to her, taking a seat and looking her over for any signs that she might just disappear on him.

"You scared the shit out of me." He said, once he was sure she was okay. "But don't apologize. I'm the one who should say sorry."

He shook his head. "I don't know why I kissed you last night." He said with a sigh. "But I didn't say sorry because I didn't want to, or I didn't like it." He looked at her, hoping she was hearing his words. "I said sorry because it wasn't fair to you. It's not fair of me to put you in that position Kota." He said, looking down at his hands.

"You scared the shit out of me." she couldn’t help but let out a small laugh "But don't apologize. I'm the one who should say sorry." he continued "I don't know why I kissed you last night." she rolled her eyes at this, but she didn’t interrupt "But I didn't say sorry because I didn't want to, or I didn't like it." He was fumbling over his words, she could tell he didn’t exactly know what to say. "I said sorry because it wasn't fair to you. It's not fair of me to put you in that position Kota." She could tell he was finally finished with his apology when his gaze fell to his hands.

“You deserved it.” She said lightly “being scared and all.” She half meant it. “And just in case you were wanting an answer to the mystery of why you kissed me
” she said looking at him, his eyes still on his hands “It’s cause you’re a boy and boys do stupid things.” She teased, trying to make him feel better she hated seeing him upset. “I mean look at Jessie, he’s a perfect example of stupid boys doing stupid things.” She scoffed at the thought of him.

She caught herself staring at him as the room fell silent and for the first time in her life she wished she was older, she wished Damien had fallen in love with her instead of Jamie
she wished she was Jamie. She hated herself for feeling this way, it was one meaningless kiss
right?

Bringing her from her thoughts, the door opened and Jamie peeked in, she had a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, seeing her stupid smile. “Damien, Honey we should probably get going. Mr. D’ Angelo is going to want us back at the house to get ready for tomorrow.” She hated the way Jamie did that, the way she spoke to him almost as if he was a child and couldn’t think for himself and she wondered if she was the only one who realized she did that to him. She didn’t even acknowledge the fact that Niki was lying in a hospital bed, not that she wanted the girls sympathy to begin with.

She didn’t want to make him choose, whether or not to stay with her or go with Jamie, but in the same since she almost felt that if he left to go with Jamie it would prove that, the kiss was really meaningless and as much as it hurt maybe that’s what she need to see him walking away, that way she could just stop thinking about it.

Then Like always, her mouth spoke before she could stop herself. “Great, guess I’ll be spending the next few hours with Dustin, until they release me.” She frowned, rolling her eyes as she glanced up a Jamie.

His mind still wondering how and why that guy had known it was him, it’d been a year, why would he even assume. Jessie could feel himself growing paranoid, no one knew how deep he had actually gotten himself after he left the ranch. He regreted it all now, being with Kitty again, he was putting her in danger just being around her. He heard her menchen somthing about the party being tomorrow and he realized he was gripping the steering wheel so tightly the blood had drained from his knuckles. He glanced over shooting him one of his famous smirks so she’d know he’d heard her and so she wouldn’t question him.

“Yeah, guess I better tell Olive she’s out of luck, seeing as we made up.” He knew this would piss her off, he was doing it again pushing her away. God Damn it, Jessie what the fucks wrong with you he yelled at himself, but he was never very good at listening to his contious “I mean I didn’t think we actually make up, you seemed pretty dead set on hating me so I asked her to go to the party with me.” He admited. “I mean that is of course if you want to go with mem otherwise I’ll still go with her.” He said hoping she would want to go with him.

The girl was pretty, but she was so... dense, he couldn’t carry on a conversation with the girl for the life of him unless it revlved around One Direction or the horses. He pulled up outside the house and before she had the chance to answer he got out of the car, walking around the front and opening her door for her. “By the way” he started “Niki’s in the hospital, she’ll be home later this evening.” He sighed having, Mr. D’ Angelo having told him when he text him about finding Kitty. “Thought you should know. Apperently you and her both decided to take off on us last night.” He frowned gently offering his hand to her.

“You deserved it.” She said, making him nod. He knew he did. “Being scared and all.” She paused for a second. “And just in case you were wanting an answer to the mystery of why you kissed me
” She said, and he fought the urge to look up. “It’s cause you’re a boy and boys do stupid things.” She teased, him, making him laugh slightly and look up at her with a smile. “I mean look at Jessie, he’s a perfect example of stupid boys doing stupid things.” Damien rolled his eyes and laughed. She had that right.

Almost as soon as it had appeared though, his smile vanished, and he looked away again. He could feel her eyes on him, and he could feel the silence like a heavy raincloud. Both of them thinking the same things. Wishing for things that were impossible. And hurting because of it.

Then the door opened, and Jamie stood there, looking as beautiful as ever, though somehow, to Damien, she no longer seemed... Important. Like he no longer lit up when she came in the room, he was more dreading it. “Damien, Honey we should probably get going. Mr. D’ Angelo is going to want us back at the house to get ready for tomorrow.” He clenched his fists slightly, and then loosened them again, irritated by the way she hadn't even said anything to Niki. She was lying in a hospital bed, for heaven's sake!

“Great, guess I’ll be spending the next few hours with Dustin, until they release me.” Damien looked at Niki and shot her an extremely sympathetic look, but he found something in her facial expression he hadn't expected. It was expectation. Like she was waiting on him for something, and he looked at Jamie.

She wanted him to choose to stay with her rather than go with Jamie. It kind of surprised him. Not because of her, he knew she prefered him to Dustin, but because the thought of refusing Jamie hadn't even come to mind.

He smiled sweetly up at his wife. "I think I'll stay here and keep Niki company. She's more important than some silly party." He laughed lightly and ran his hands through his hair. "Take Dustin with you. He's a strong kid. He'll be able to do heavy lifting and all that hard stuff instead of me. Tell him Niki wanted him to. I'm sure he'll jump at the chance."

Jamie shot him an angry look, and then glanced between the two of them, somewhat suspiciously, before leaving, closing the door rather hard.

Damien rolled his eyes and looked at Niki. "You're right." He said, leaning back in his chair with a smile. "Boys are stupid. Especially your pet lap dog Dustin out there."

“Yeah, guess I better tell Olive she’s out of luck, seeing as we made up.” He said, making Kitty flare up. “I mean I didn't think we'd actually make up, you seemed pretty dead set on hating me so I asked her to go to the party with me.” She rolled her eyes and ignored him for the moment, choosing to simply roll down the window and hang her arm out. She didn't want to deal with his bullshit. “I mean that is of course if you want to go with me, otherwise I’ll still go with her.”

They pulled up to the house not a moment later, and he crossed around the car to open the door for her. She turned, facing him with an eyebrow raised sarcastically, as if to say: When did you become a gentleman? “By the way,” he said, and something about the way he said it made Kitty drop her snarky look. “Niki’s in the hospital, she’ll be home later this evening.” Her eyebrows shot up in concern. “Thought you should know. Apparently you and her both decided to take off on us last night.”

Kitty groaned and pushed him out of the way, hopping down from the car. "What the fuck is wrong with me?" She hissed, speaking mostly to herself. "I should have been here."

She walked briskly towards the house, then turned, remembering Jessie and his question. "I'll go to the party with you Jessie." She said with a half-hearted smile as she looked at the ground. "But let's face it. You'll probably be in Olive pants by the end of the night anyway." She shrugged and looked right at him, knowing this statement would probably cause another fight, but not really caring.

It was true. The moment he was drunk or on drugs, he turned into the biggest asshole on the planet. Sometimes when he was sober, he was that way too. Though it wasn't like he was all to blame. She could be a real bitch most of the time too. She was always provoking him, turning him into an asshole. Though there were times, like the beach, when she could make him act sweet and gentle as well. And he did the same to her. He drove her absolutely insane, to the point where she'd drunk herself almost to death and run away. But he could also make her extremely happy. An emotion she rarely felt.

They brought out the best, and the worst in each other, and Kitty had always heard that meant that they were in love, but she wasn't sure. She'd always figured she was too broken to love. And that's why her and Jessie never really functioned. Because they were both broken beyond repair, and they both really wanted to love, but their inability to function kept getting in the way.

Like now. All she wanted was for Jessie to kiss her again, like on the beach, hard and fast, yet gentle and passionate at the same time. But here she was, probably picking another fight. The cycle kept repeating itself.

She was convinced that Damien would go with Jaime and she kept telling herself over and over again that was how it was supposed to be, than she felt stupid for even saying anything. She sighed a bit irritated with herself. "I think I'll stay here and keep Niki company. She's more important than some silly party." She looked up at him a bit shocked "Take Dustin with you. He's a strong kid. He'll be able to do heavy lifting and all that hard stuff instead of me. Tell him Niki wanted him to. I'm sure he'll jump at the chance." She could tell Jamie was mad, anyone could have the girl wasn’t exactly good at hiding her emotions especially when it came to Damien. Niki couldn’t help but smirk as she glanced over to Jamie, she had to fight the urge to stick her tongue out like a spoiled little kid. She flinched a bit as the door slammed harder than necessary.

Her smirk turning into a full blown smile, she couldn’t help but laugh at Niki’s reaction. “Look at you Mr. Rebellious.” She teased, biting her lip “I was wondering when I’d get the old DJ back. I mean no offence but Jamie kind of turned you into a boring, softy.”

She was happy that she had inevitably won over Jamie, but a part of her felt horrible, that subconsciously she had made him make the choice, she chose to push those feeling away for now at least until she was alone to beat herself up about it. Then a new feeling over took, the thought that the kiss actually had meant something and now they were left with that. She kept her emotions under control on the outside she was calm, but on the inside she was battling an over load of emotions.

“Your definitely going to be in the dog house when you get home.” he smirked.

He rolled his eyes as she jumped out of the car pushing past him. Now the he knew she was safe, he was quickly turning back into his old self and he was aware of it, but it was like a disease that couldn’t be cured. He clenched his fist aggravated at the fact that she was walk away from him.

"I'll go to the party with you Jessie." This caused him to loosen his fist a bit until she spoke again "But let's face it. You'll probably be in Olive pants by the end of the night anyway." This triggered the Jessie she knew, the Jessie everyone knew. His fist collided with the side of the door leaving a small dent. It was past the point of calming him down now. He turned around watching her walk towards the house, he hadn’t realized that his knuckles had started to bleed, her ran his fingers through his hair, his breathing heavy and the words ready to escape.

“Yeah I probably will, in fact I’ll probably fuck Nikota too right!? And every other fucking girl I see!” he yelled already knowing he’d gone too far mentioning Niki, but he didn’t really care at this point and like he always did he continued not knowing when to shut up. “But why should you be worried princess.” He said running up to her cutting her off and standing front of her “I’m sure there will be plenty of guys for you to hook up with, your no better than me.” He smirked.

Kitty heard him punch the door of the jeep, and stopped in her tracks. “Yeah I probably will, in fact I’ll probably fuck Nikota too right!? And every other fucking girl I see!” She rolled her eyes, flaring up inside at the mention of Nikota's name. He was pushing her buttons, she knew that, but she couldn't help but take the bait. She never could.

“But why should you be worried princess?” He said, cutting her off in her tracks. She stopped, looking up at him with fire in her blue eyes, arms crossed. “I’m sure there will be plenty of guys for you to hook up with, your no better than me.”

Again Kitty rolled her eyes. "You're impossible!" She shrieked and used both her hands to shove him backwards as hard as she could. "Don't fucking talk about Niki that way!" She was all worked up, unable to think of what exactly she wanted to shout at him. What she wanted to say.

She groaned and ran her fingers through her hair, pacing a quick, frustrated circle before turning to face him, stepping dangerously close, her voice dangerously low. "I'm no where near as bad as you Jessie. You'll screw anything that bats it's little eyelashes at you." She smirked, knowing it was a lie, and batted hers sarcastically. Most of the time, he just did it to make her jealous. And he wasn't the only one. She did it often too. She couldn't even count how many times he'd caught her with some stupid guy, and had to drag her home, blistering with rage. And sense he'd left, it had only gotten worse.

Kitty sighed and reached for him, though not to hold him or kiss him like the beach. She stood about an inch away from him, and reached into his pocket, where she knew he kept his cigarettes. She smiled and pulled them out, stepping away quickly before he could take them from her, and lighting one up.

She let out a sigh of smoke, right towards his face, before slipping them back into his pocket again. "At least I know you're always good for one thing." She spat bitterly.

“Look at you Mr. Rebellious.” She teased him, and he smiled. “I was wondering when I’d get the old DJ back. I mean no offence but Jamie kind of turned you into a boring, softy.”

Damien laughed lightly at her teasing, but looked at her as though she were precious, and he was taking her seriously. She was there, in that hospital bed because of him. Because he'd put her in a place he really shouldn't have, and he'd gone and complicated things between them. He couldn't leave Jamie. That was insane. Not over one little kiss. Even if it wasn't only a kiss to him, which it wasn't, there was no way he could just dump her and pick up Niki.

For one thing, her father would murder him, and if there was one person he respected in this world, it was Niki's father. For another thing, she was only sixteen! He'd watched her grow up since she was just four years old. She was like his sister. It may not feel that way, but to everyone around them, it certainly looked that way.

And finally, there was Jamie. He'd been the one who'd gotten himself into the whole "Jamie mess". He had to take responsibility. And it had been Niki who'd told him to stop running. So he couldn't. Especially since she was pregnant. Her baby would grow up fatherless, and Jamie would have to suffer through the burden of having a child all alone. He couldn't do that to anyone. He considered himself a decent man, and, in order to be one, he had to step up and be there for her.

It's insane that I'm even considering this. He thought to himself as he ran his finger through his hair and looked at her.

“Your definitely going to be in the dog house when you get home.” He let out a soft scoff.

"That's an understatement." He said with a roll of his eyes as he twisted his wedding ring around his finger.

He looked up at her, honesty in his eyes. "Kota..." He hesitated. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you after what happened. I should have been. I should never have left."

A nurse then came in, and looked at him. "Are you her brother or something?" She asked, and he looked at Kota briefly, before nodding, knowing the nurse wouldn't tell him anything unless he was related.

"Yeah, adopted. What's up?" He asked.

"Well the doctor's written her a prescription, and basically, there's just some paperwork that needs to be filled out, but Nikota here can be free to go in under an hour if you'd like. Do you want the paperwork, or should I wait for her mother or father? The woman informed them, holding out a clipboard with a stack of papers attached.

Damien smiled at her and took the clipboard. She left the room, and he leaned forward, placing the clipboard on the edge of the bed and flipping through the papers. Technically, he wasn't supposed to fill them out, seeing as he wasn't really her brother, but, back when he'd first met Mr. D'Angelo, he'd memorized his signature, and was pretty good at forging it, so he smiled at Niki.

"Piece of cake. You'll be home in no time." He said.

"Kota..." she heard him start smiling at his nickname for her, she loved it when he called that and it was like everyone else knew, that name was reserved for him. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you after what happened. I should have been. I should never have left." She sighed gently “Don’t worry about it Damien, really I didn’t mean what I said, I know it was hard on you too, everyone takes things differently.” She smiled before looking to the door.

She watched as Damien filled out the papers, signing her dads name as if he was really him, she couldn’t help but smirk, she knew there was a part of Damien that was bad, but he hid it well. "Piece of cake. You'll be home in no time." She took a deep breath “I’m not taking the pills they give me.” She informed him “I won’t, I’m not crazy and neither is Kat for that matter.” She said getting a little frustrated. She sat up in the hospital bed, though their conversation was interrupted once again as the discharge nurse came into the room.

“No miss Nikota, I don’t want to see you back here for a very long time. You need to take you medication.” The nurse smiled taking her iv out of her arm. Niki flinching a bit as she pulled the needle out. The nurse stood up grabbing Niki’s close from the drawer. “You can change in the bathroom if you’d like dear.” She smiled helping Niki to the bathroom. “As soon as she’s ready you guys are good to go.” The older women smiled to Damien before leaving the room.

Niki closed the door to the bathroom behind her, making sure to no one could see her knowing her scars were going to be visible, unfortunately the door not clicking shut, bouncing back open just enough to see in. She pulled off the hospital gown exposing her bare back covered in burn scars, her long blonde hair falling in messy loose curls, touching a few inches past where her bra strap should have been. Though the doctor having to take it off, she slid the straps of her bar on, before clipping it in the back, she pulled her pants on over her lacy black boy shorts and lastly her gray tank top all of yesterday’s cloths. “Ugh
I need a shower.” She whispered to her self.

((OCC sorry couldn’t resist had to do one of those cheesy, creak in the door, getting dressed movie scenes lol))

"At least I know you're always good for one thing." He heard as she lit the cigarette, blowing the smoke in his face he didn’t even flinch. There was so much anger building up in him, he could hardly control his rage, but he was doing his best to contain it. He took a deep breath as if to inhale the smoke she had just released into the air. His deep blue eyes staring straight into hers as if trying to read her better then he knew himself. He shook his glancing down to his throbbing knuckles seeing the blood that now dripped from it. “Fuck.” He whispered, though not in pain more irritated with the blood.

He glanced back to Kitty “It’s funny you say that” he laughed almost as if he was defeated or no longer going to fight, but that wasn’t at all the case. “I’m only good for one thing huh, my father said that exact same thing.” There was evident hate in his eyes at this point. “Guess it’s true then.” He swallowed hard letting her words sink in. “And news flash sweetheart.” He said closing what was left of the space between them, his mouth right next to her ear. “The only thing your good for is what’s between you legs.” His voice was dark and cruel, it had been what she said that triggered this dangerous side of him, his tone was almost threatening.

“Everything okay?” Mrs. D’ Angelo voice came from behind.

“Fine.” Jessie glared at her taking a step back before walking the opposite direction of the house towards the barns, tossing Mr. D’ Angelo the keys to the Jeep as he passed him. He pulled the door open to the jeep grabbing the cell phone in the middle counsel, Mr. D’ Angelo had one in every ranch car and he knew that. He continued to walk until he was out of sight of everyone, before pulling the number of the dealer out of his pocket. He started at it for a long moment, debating if he got caught he was faced with going to prison. But, what Kat had said had really struck a chord, he knew she didn’t mean it in the way his father had ,but it was too close to home for him.

“Hey Ricky, you got that 8-ball?” he asked darkly

“Jay J, thought you’d never call, yeah I got it. How much you got for me?” the dealer asked coxing him

Jessie cradled the phone between his ear and should as he checked his pockets. “40.” He breathed as if already knowing that wasn’t going to be enough.

“Listen Jay” he flinched at the nickname, reminding him of his gang involvement. “Since you’re a good friend I’ll give it to you for 35, you sound a little desperate, normally it runs for 120, you need me to bring it to you?” Jessie thought this through for another long moment, 8-ball was the worst possible thing he could get it was a mix of heroin and coke and while the drugs were unsafe separately mixing together they were near deadly, any small mistake could cost him his life.
“Yeah. I’ll take it. Meet me at the back of the property.” He said before hanging up the phone. Jessie had done this many times before he had left. There was a frontage road they lay just beyond the back of the D’ Angelo’s property, that had been forgotten when they had built the freeway two years ago. Jessie shoved his phone in his pocket as he started off at a slow jog, it would take him a good hour or so to get there.

“It’s funny you say that,” he laughed, sounding defeated, and Kitty smiled wickedly, taking another drag from the cigarette, glad she'd gotten to him. “I’m only good for one thing huh, my father said that exact same thing.” Instantly, her smiled dropped. She knew about his father. She'd had a father just like his, and she knew how aweful it was. Suddenly, her stomach flipped upside-down as she recognized the hatred in his eyes, and knew she'd really struck something. Normally, she'd be glad to get to him so much, but she hadn't intended to bring up his father. That was territory even she never went into, and she felt terrible. “Guess it’s true then.” He swallowed, and she was about to step forward and apologize, maybe even pull him close, when he spoke again.

“And news flash sweetheart.” He said, lips right next to her ear, breath tickling her neck. He sounded dark and dangerous, making her shiver slightly, as though, for the first time ever, she really was afraid of him. “The only thing your good for is what’s between you legs.”

It was like he'd hit her physically. Just as bad, if not, worse. She wanted to cry, and she wanted to scream, and she wanted to kick the shit out of him for saying it all at the same time. Her stomach twisted in knots like he'd punched her, and her eyes fell. She stepped away from him, and raised her hand to slap him as hard as she could when her mother came out.

“Everything okay?” Her mother asked, ever worried about her daughter. Especially when she was around Jessie.

Before Kitty could respond, Jess did for her. “Fine.” He spat simply, and she watched him just walk away. Back towards the jeep where he reached for the middle council.

Kitty instantly knew what he was doing. He was reaching for the phone her father always kept in the vehicles. He was going to call the man they'd seen on the beach, and suddenly it clicked. She remembered seeing him because he was one of Jessie's old drug dealers.

All of Jessie's old friends had always hated her, and she knew that. She'd hated them too. He typically tried to keep her away from that part of his life, but every once in a while, she'd go to a party with him and meet them, or she'd follow him. She knew where they'd meet too. She'd followed him out there before.

Once he was out of sight, Kitty ran to the barn and threw herself into Lion's stable, hugging his neck tightly. What is it Kitty? He asked, calm and worried. She'd come to him because he was the most level-headed, and wisest of her horses.

"Jessie." She moaned miserably, then, fearful that someone would overhear her talking to her horse, she switched to telepathy. He... He said some things to me... She said, leaning back to stroke him gently.

Isn't he always saying awful things? He asked, and she rolled her eyes and sat on a bucket in the corner.

Yes, but... This was different. And now I think he's getting himself into trouble again. She looked at her horse, concerned.

Okay then, let's go stop him. He said, and Kitty hesitated.

After what he'd said, she wasn't sure she wanted to stop him. Let him ruin his life and end up in jail. Let him get himself killed over a stupid fix. How would she be able to stop him anyway? According to what he'd said, she was nothing but his own little whore.

Inside, she knew it wasn't true, that he didn't really feel that way, but for some reason, it still hurt like it was.

Kitty... Lion nudged her gently. He ran out to save you.

Kitty looked up at him and nodded with a sigh, she stood and swung open the door to his stable, pulling herself up onto his back. She wasn't sure if maybe she should try to get him, or beat him to his spot, and, either confront him there, or scare the living hell out of his dealer.

In the end, she chose to intercept him.

Anger rose in her as she rode, as though the wind whipping her, was fueling her hatred for him, and, by the time she reached him, she was so angry, she was afraid she'd kill him before she even had the chance to yell at him.

She jumped down from Lion quickly and ran out to him, pushing him hard. "How fucking dare you?!" She screamed, slapping him hard. "I'm not a whore, you know!" Though, even as she said it, she doubted at, and she hated him for making her think that about herself. She shook her head and pushed him again. She knew she was being irrational, but she couldn't help it. He'd hurt her bad.

"Get your ass back to the house you prick!" They were more than halfway to his spot, and she knew if his dealer was there, he'd hear her screaming, but she didn't care. She wanted him to know he was unwelcome. "You're going to kill yourself one of these times!" She ran her fingers roughly through her hair. "After what you said to me, I shouldn't even care, but I just..." She looked around, searching for her words. "I just can't believe you Jessie! My step-father takes you in, and keeps you from going to jail, and you're just going to run off and fuck it all up." She rolled her eyes. "You fuck up everything you touch." She looked away. "Even me." She said in a whisper, though she knew he could still hear it.

It was a harsh accusation, but she didn't care. She was so angry, she could feel the heat rising in her cheeks, and her fists clenched. She wanted the punch him, but she knew she wasn't strong enough, so instead, she settled for verbal abuse, rather than physical.

“I’m not taking the pills they give me.” Damien frowned slightly. She needed her pills. “I won’t, I’m not crazy and neither is Kat for that matter.” At that, Damien'd frown turned up a little. He liked the fact that she was always worried about Kitty as well as herself. She was in the hospital, and still thinking of Kitty.

He was about to tell her that no one thought she was crazy, when the nurse walked in again. “No miss Nikota, I don’t want to see you back here for a very long time. You need to take you medication.” He nodded and watched Niki carefully. He'd make her take the pills whether she liked it or not. If she didn't, he was afraid she might end up destroying herself. “You can change in the bathroom if you’d like dear.” The nurse helped her to the bathroom, and turned to him. “As soon as she’s ready you guys are good to go.”

Damien nodded and smiled, glancing towards the bathroom where she was. The door hadn't closed all the way when she'd shut it, and he knew he should do the right thing and not look, but he couldn't help himself. He watched, and, when she took off the hospital gown, he winced to see her scars.

They weren't ugly. Nothing about her was ugly, but they hurt him almost as though he'd been the one with those wounds, not her. If him and her father had been home that night and not at the bar... Things would have turned out differently. She wouldn't have those scars, and her mother would still be alive. She wouldn't be so broken, and she wouldn't have to take pills or go to therapy, or run away from home and nearly kill herself.

She would be happy, and spoiled, and he'd have never have met Jamie, and so much would be different.

His fists clenched, and he stood, crossing to the window to look out. He should have been there. It was his fault.

A moment later, he glanced behind him at the door to see she was fully dressed, and sighed, taking out his keys.

He jingled them loudly, and smiled. "Ready to get home?" He asked as he went to the door and held it open for her, before heading out to the main desk and handing them the clipboard.

They gave him her prescription, and he put it in his pocket before leading her out the door to his truck. "You have to take the pills Kota." He said gently, tossing her the bottle as they drove. "I don't think I could live through another scare like this." He looked at her briefly, before returning to the road, but his eyes were pleading. "For me?" He said simply, reaching one hand out to hold her hand and squeeze it briefly.

She frowned seeing him open the door, praying he hadn’t seen her scars, if there was one thing she wanted to keep hidden it was that. Sure her father had checked into cosmetic surgery, but all of the doctors said it was too risky for a girl her age and there were too many scars. So both her and her father had decided against it. They headed out of the room and Niki frowned when Damien took the prescription.

The car ride was silent until Damien started in "You have to take the pills Kota." She rolled her eyes as he tossed her the pills "I don't think I could live through another scare like this." she let out a frustrated breath, no one understood what the pills did to her or Kat, the doctors were all convinced that Kitty and Niki needed to be admitted, so they placed them on ridiculous amounts of medication. "For me?" she her him say and was caught off guard when he gently squeezed her hand gently. It sent electricity through her, his hand just felt right with hers, she sighed as she pulled her hand away not waning a repeat of what had happened last night.

“Bull shit. I just turn into a Zombie. Thanks but no thanks D, tomorrows the big party and I’d rather enjoy it.” She felt bad, being slightly harsher then she meant to be, realizing he had come back after she’d stopped taking the pills, so he really was unaware of what they did to her. “I’m fine I promise.” She said hopping out of the truck once they came to a stop outside the barn.

Look who’s back from the dead. she heard Macho taunt, from the hitching post outside the barn, where one of the other ranch hands was carefully trying to clean him up, scared he’d kick them at any moment.

Wait till we get in the ring, your ass is min. she smirked at the horse. He shook his head snorting a bit at her comment. “I think he missed you.” She heard Dustin as he came from the barn followed by Jamie, who looked a bit disheveled, though it was hardly noticeable, Niki was half convinced she was just imagining things. She glanced between the two suspiciously, before feeling Dustin wrap his arms around her and spin her around, like a soldier coming home, setting her back down on her feet

“He’s not the only one who missed you babe.” He smiled kissing her cheek.

“Babe, really Dusy, knock it off.” She said pushing him away though trying to be nice about it.

He was too lost in his own thoughts to hear the thundering hoofs of the horse approaching. "How fucking dare you?!" He heard her scream and before he had time to react he felt the sting of her slap causing him to stop dead in his tracks "I'm not a whore, you know!" his breathing heavy, his anger rising. Jessie was a dangerous man, though he mostly put up the front of cocky, perverted, asshole. There was a much darker side to Jessie and when he was filled with rage like he was now, people knew to steer clear, unless they wanted to wind up severely injured. His eyes focused straight ahead, in fear that if he looked at her he might hurt her.

"Get your ass back to the house you prick!" She screamed and he wasn’t exactly one to take well to orders "You're going to kill yourself one of these times!" he kept his eyes straight, trying to ignore her. "After what you said to me, I shouldn't even care, but I just..." it went silent for only a moment between them, he knew she was pulling for words. "I just can't believe you Jessie! My step-father takes you in, and keeps you from going to jail, and you're just going to run off and fuck it all up." he closed his eyes [b]"You fuck up everything you touch
Even me." He heard those last words and somewhere deep down they had hurt him and had he not been ridden with anger he would have kissed her, he would have pulled her in and not let her go. But Jessie wasn’t there, it was like someone else had taken over.

“Done.” He said as if he was bored with the conversation, he started to walk away, then turned back to her, there was a dangerous look on his face mixed with his wickedly evil smirk, there was just something about him that was very off as if he’d already taken the drugs, he’d only been like this once before with her, when he’d pushed her into the coffee table and nearly killed her. “I’m not asking for anyone’s help, you want the honest truth.” He said darkly “I called him not because I wanted him to pay for my bail and talk me out of going to prison.” He admitted “I called him cause I knew all that would happen and I knew you’d be waiting here for me.” His fists clenched “And a part of me hoped, that for once we could get our fucking act together.” He smirked “But now, I know I was living in a fucked up fairytale.” He laughed

“Jessie!” he heard a voice call in the distance “What the Fuck man! Where the hell are you.” The voice was familiar, his dealer.

“Go home Kitten, you can’t save me. I won’t let you.” He turned taking off jogging “I think you’re the one who needs to get your ass home.” He shouted back over his shoulder.

After a few moment of jogging he meet the guy, handing him the money and receiving a good amount of the drugs. He knew Kitty wouldn’t back down, she’d chase after him again.

“You better get out of here man, my old lady might rip your head off.” Jessie smirked

“Yeah, heard some of that, you really have a way with the girls Jay. See you later man.” The guy took Jessie’s advice already knowing how explosive Jessie and Kitty could get.

“Done.” He said, as if he were bored with the conversation. As if they were talking about whether or not it would rain the next day. This infuriated her all the more, and he just kept walking, before turning back to her. She wanted to run after him and drag him home, but the look on his face made her stop in her tracks and just watch him as he spoke.

Kitty knew as she looked at him, she was seeing a different side of Jessie. The side everyone else got to see but her. The one that would easily kill a man if he had to, and wasn't afraid to hurt her if he must. She'd only ever seen him like this once before, and it had scared the hell out of her. Now, she was frightened, yes, but too full of rage to act on it. Like she probably should. She should probably turn around that instant and head back, before he did something they'd both regret, but she couldn't. Her anger was powering her now. It had control of her. So she stood her ground, watching him with equally as dangerous eyes.

“I’m not asking for anyone’s help. You want the honest truth?” He said, though it didn't sound like a confession. It sounded taunting, and cruel. “I called him not because I wanted him to pay for my bail and talk me out of going to prison.” She bit her lip, figuring she had an idea where this was going. “I called him cause I knew all that would happen and I knew you’d be waiting here for me.” She watched him tense as he spoke. “And a part of me hoped, that for once we could get our fucking act together. But now, I know I was living in a fucked up fairytale.”

A shout in the distance, drew Kitty's eyes away from Jessie, and she knew his dealer was there, just behind him somewhere. “Go home Kitten, you can’t save me. I won’t let you.” He turned, leaving her there alone, shouting over his shoulder to her. “I think you’re the one who needs to get your ass home.”

She hissed and Lion trotted up behind her. Go. He said, nudging her with his nose, and she looked at him briefly, before taking off running after Jessie.

She got there just at his dealer was leaving, and approached him, fire in her eyes. "You know why we can't get our act together?!" She shrieked, not caring about how loud she was. No one could hear them. They were alone.

She advanced on him, taking the drugs swiftly from his hands and slipping them in her own pocket. She knew he was dangerous right now, and would probably do anything to get them back, so she took a few swift steps backwards, putting space between them, giving her time to react if he tried to spring at her, though, not much. She was fast, but if he managed to catch her, he'd be too strong for her to get away.

"We don't work because you're willing to throw your fucking life away every chance you get." She hissed angrily. "The drugs are more important to you than I am Jessie. I'm not an idiot! I can tell!" Her voice cracked and she had to clear it, mentally cursing herself for allowing him to know how upset she was. She wanted him to see her anger, but that was it. "You throw all your money down the fucking drain on your latest fix, treat me like shit, and then, when you're broke and sober for a few hours, come crying to me all sweet, like a puppy dog."

She rolled her eyes. They'd had this fight a million times. The famous "the drugs are more important" fight, and it never really got them anywhere. She knew she was being unfair. She was blaming him for all their problems. Like he was the only one who cheated, and he was the only one who bitched and fought, and he was the only one who fucked things up.

But she didn't care.

Kitty glared at him, taking another step back, angry that she couldn't even feel safe with him because of the drugs. "Fuck you!" She spat harshly, wanting to hurt him as bad as he'd hurt her. "Get the fuck back home." She looked away. "And stay away from me for however long you're here." She said, biting her lip, fighting back tears, but determined not to let him see them. "I don't want to see you again. You ruined any chances we had when you left." She hissed, hoping the words would hurt him as badly as they hurt her to say.

Damien frowned a bit when she pulled her hand away, but he knew she had the right to, so he didn't say anything. “Bull shit. I just turn into a Zombie. Thanks but no thanks D, tomorrows the big party and I’d rather enjoy it.” Her words were harsh, and he winced slightly, but took them. He'd figured she wasn't going to take the pills anyway. “I’m fine I promise.” Finally, they came to a stop and she hopped out.

He sighed and followed after her, cutting the engine and jumping down from the cab of the truck to see Dustin coming from the barn, followed by Jamie. Why did those two always travel together? It was like they knew they were walking jealousy bombs, and liked to show it off. It irritated him to no end.

“I think he missed you.” Dustin said to Niki as he dramatically twirled her. “He’s not the only one who missed you babe.”

Damien's jaw clenched, but Jamie sauntered up to him and wrapped herself in his arms. "How is she?" She asked sweetly, though Damien doubted she really cared. It was awful, having thoughts like that about her, when, just recently, he'd thought she was the best thing to ever happen to him, and it hurt him.

He looked down into her blue eyes and smiled slightly. "She's fine babe." He said, kissing her lightly.

She smiled wickedly, and tugged at his shirt, pulling him towards the car, and he knew her intentions, but he just shook his head and laughed. "Hun, I've got to find out what Mr. D'Angelo wants me to do for the party tomorrow." He said, gently pushing her off of him.

She glared at him momentarily before waltzing off as though it hadn't happened. Like a child almost. Sometimes, she was just too sweet, innocent, and childlike to him. It was as though she was acting.

He sighed exhaustively, and ran his fingers through his hair. He'd texted Niki's father on the ride home, and knew what he was supposed to do. His first task was to decorate the barn, and, seeing as he wasn't much for decorating, he smiled and looked at Niki.

"Kota?" He asked, shooting a quick glare at Dustin before returning his attention to her. "Want to help me decorate the barn?" He asked. "Your father says there's boxes I need to carry out there, but once they're out there, I may need your help."

Niki rolled her eyes as Jamie nearly tackled Damien, ready to jump on him right in front of Dustin and her. She smirked a bit raising a brow as Damien nicely rejected her. “Don’t worry Jamie, you don’t have to mark your territory we all know he’s your lap dog.” Niki called after her as she walked away, knowing she shouldn’t have said it, but she couldn’t help herself. Jamie turned back shooting Niki a dirty looked followed by a fake smiled the scream watch your back brat.

Niki glanced to Damien as he asked if she wanted to decorate the barn. It was almost a tradition for them to decorate the barn together, they had always done it. She flashed him a flirty smile although not meaning it to across that way. “Sure thing! Just let me go get a shower really quick I’m in desperate need.” She laughed. “I’ll help you get the boxes.” Dustin offered still having his arm around Niki’s waits like he owned her, Niki hadn’t realized he still had his arm around her, more or less because she was use to him always trying hang on her.

She had to control herself from laughing at Dustin’s offer knowing Damien was not at all going to be happy about that. “You boys have fun. I’ll be right back.” She smirked as skip walked towards the house, starting to wonder where Kitty was, wanting to make sure she was okay. “Hey Nikota?” she heard Dustin call, causing her to turn back to face the boys, but she didn’t answer she simply waited for him to continue. “Need a date to the party.” He smirked glancing to Damien as if knowing this would piss him off more than anything. Damien and Dustin were always in a game of Chess, ever since they’d meet. Niki raised her index finger to her lips as if making a big decision. A playful smile painted her lips. “Sure why not.” She smiled glancing over to Damien, she couldn’t help but jump on the chance to make him a little jealous. “On two conditions.” She began.

“Of course” Dustin smirked like he’d just won the Olympics. “And what would those be?” he asked curious. “Well for starters know funny business, no calling me babe or trying to kiss me, that shit just won’t fly.” She teased lightly, though she was being serious. “And secondly
” she began though pausing her eyes drifting to Damien for a moment then back to Dustin “You steal Jamie so I can steal Mr. Fox for just one dance, it’s a tradition after all.” She lied, shrugging as if she was telling the truth, only Damien would know this was a lie. Dustin rolled his eyes “Yeah, Yeah fine.” He sighed, though smiling to her. Niki continued back to the house.

The moment she snatched the drugs, his rage had boiled over to the point that thing around him started to blur and he was no longer in control of his own body. You could just see it in his body and his face. He roughly ran his hands through his hair. He could no longer concentrate on what she was saying he was fighting his rage, fighting the urge to hurt her. "I don't want to see you again. You ruined any chances we had when you left." that was all he needed to hear. With that he moved towards her, quickly closing the space between them even if she had run, she couldn’t have escaped.

He grabbed her wrist harshly, it felt so small in his hand he could easily break and with how rough he’d grabbed it he was surprised he hadn’t snapped it in half. He forced her to the ground harshly, until she was lying defenseless on her back, sure she was fighting back, she was fighting back harder than most of the guys he’d beaten the shit out of. But despite her efforts, he was too experienced, to strong, and too angry.

He held both of her arms of her head with one hand and with the other he retrieved the drugs as he sat on top of her though not enough to hurt her. Not in a kind and caring manor, he did all of this harshly enough it was going to leave some nasty bruises. His grip was nearly iron on her arms he held above her head. Once he hand secured the drugs in his pocket, he used his free hand to cover her mouth roughly, glaring it her eyes. “Listen to me Kittrina.” He began in a hush tone as if others were around “Your better off without me.” He continued his low threatening tone. “So why the fuck, do you keep coming after me!” he yelled “I don’t need you. I don’t need anyone!” he continued “You don’t want to see me again. Fine, consider me gone.” He growled, harshly kissing her, this was different from the one on the beach, it was hard and cold. He stood up taking a few steps back.

“No house arrest, guess I’m on the run again.” He smirked before turning away from her and heading back in the direction his dealer had come from.

Kitty fought the urge to jump or scream when he closed the space between them. She saw the hatred and cold rage in his eyes, and she knew he'd hurt her if he had to. She felt stupid for not just running as soon as she'd grabbed the drugs. There was a little stream nearby she could have tossed them in or something.

He grabbed her wrist roughly, and she bit her lip so hard to keep from crying out in pain, blood trickled down it. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of knowing he'd hurt her. She'd just bear it. She glanced at her wrist in his hand and suddenly felt really small compared to him. It felt like he was crushing her bones. Like, they were bending, and an instant longer, they'd snap.

Then he forced her to the ground. She whimpered like a puppy and cursed herself for doing so, fighting him with everything she had, but he was too strong. He was to determined to get what he wanted. She felt the experience in him. The way he knew exactly how to bring her down. It frightened her, for he'd never deliberately set out to hurt her before, and she wasn't sure what he'd do. Even when he'd pushed her into the coffee table, giving her the scar that ran up her thigh, it hadn't been like this. He'd been frightening, but he'd only shoved her, and, the instant he'd hurt her, he snapped out of it.

Kitty fought the urge to cry as he held her there, pinned and helpless. She twisted her wrists in his hands, knowing they would only bruise, but desperate to get away from him while he was like this. He swiped the drugs from her again, and she lookedd up at him, anger and hatred clear on her face, but also fear.

"Jess-" She started to speak, before his hand clamped down hard over her mouth, and her eyes widened as he leaned over her, glaring at her.

“Listen to me Kittrina.” He said darkly, and she stopped fighting him, just listened. “You're better off without me.” His tone was cruel and threatening. “So why the fuck, do you keep coming after me?!” he yelled, making her jump. “I don’t need you. I don’t need anyone!” That one hurt, and she wished he'd just let her go so she could get away from him. Just hours before, he'd told her she was his reason for living, and now, because of a stupid drug, he'd called her a slut, told her he didn't need her, and had hurt her both physically and emotionally.

“You don’t want to see me again. Fine, consider me gone.” He spat bitterly and his lips came down on hers, only this time she didn't melt into him like before. This time she just wanted him to stop, because it was cruel, and taunting, and cold. There was nothing but anger in his kiss and she let out a small, weak whine.

Finally it stopped, and he stood, taking steps back from her. “No house arrest, guess I’m on the run again.” He said, turning to walk away from her, towards where his dealer had left.

Kitty moaned miserably and sat up, slowly, rubbing her wrists, and the spots where he'd held her pinned. She was going to bruise in more than one spot, that was for sure. They were already starting to form on her wrists, and she could feel them on her hips and back from where he'd thrown her down.

She crawled the small space between her and the back of an old forgotten tool shed that was behind the barn, and sat with her back against it, breathing heavily. "You're wrong!" She shouted after him, her voice finally cracking with tears as she started to cry. She hated letting him see her cry, but she couldn't help it.

She sat there, shaking, in shock, pain, and fear. All from him. She rubbed her wrists slowly and watched him from her spot on the ground. "I'm not better off without you." She said through tears. They weren't hysterical, bawling tears, but rather, the silent kind that rolled down her face, without heaving and sobbing, but they choked up her voice just the same and made her sound pitiful. She hated that.

"What exactly were you trying to avoid turning me into by leaving Jessie?" She hissed angrily. "Because I have news for you." She glared at him, angry at the way he always thought he was alone. The way he thought he didn't need anyone. "Your leaving, turned me into it." She spat out blood from where she'd bit her lip, and thumped her head on the shack behind her.

"I keep coming after you, because it's possible for someone to care about you, you know!" She shouted, anger boiling up in her now. "If you'd stop acting like such a selfish asshole, maybe you'd stop running all the time and realize there are people who.." She stumbled and looked away, her voice lowering. "Who love you." She shook her head and stood slowly, glaring at him as she leaned back against the wall.

After what had just happened, her best bet would be to turn around and head back to the house before risking herself anymore, but she honestly didn't care anymore. If he wasn't going to love her, she wanted him to hurt her. At least then she'd know how he felt. People always seemed to be more honest when they were angry. At least she'd know for sure he really felt nothing for her, instead of him dancing around it and playing games with her like he usually did.

"Your drug dealers and whores?" She shook her head and spat her words out as bitterly as she could through a tear choked voice. "They don't really care about you Jess. All they want is your money." She shrugged and looked away from him. "So go ahead I guess. Run away from the people who actually give a shit about your worthless ass, again to people who'd kill you in an instant if they had to."

"Don’t worry Jamie, you don’t have to mark your territory we all know he’s your lap dog.” Niki shouted out after Jamie, and Damien smirked at her, intrigued by her jealousy.

She then shot him a flirty smile, and he chuckled. She was a heartbreaker, he knew that, he'd just never assumed she'd be toying with him. “Sure thing! Just let me go get a shower really quick I’m in desperate need.” She laughed and he smiled with a nod.

“I’ll help you get the boxes.” Dustin offered and Damien winced as though the idea of working with Dustin physically pained him, but agreed to it anyway, with a half hearted smile.

“You boys have fun. I’ll be right back.” Niki then said as she flounced off, and he watched her go.

“Hey Nikota?” Dustin called, making Niki stop, and Damien look at him. “Need a date to the party.” Damien rolled his eyes, catching the glance Dustin shot his way, but choosing to ignore it. Refusing the kid the satisfaction of knowing he'd gotten to him. He simply watched Niki, he knew she'd say yes. It would look too suspicious if she said no, and it's not like he could take her instead of Jamie anyway. “Sure why not.” She said, smiling at him though, and he couldn't help but clench his fists at the thought of Niki attached to such a child all night. “On two conditions.” At that, Damien raised his eyebrows and scoffed at Dustin.

“Of course” Dustin smirked as though he'd won a prize, when, in reality, due to her conditions, he'd won nothing but a little arm candy. “And what would those be?” he asked curious, though Damien already had a feeling he knew at least one of them.

“Well for starters no funny business, no calling me babe or trying to kiss me, that shit just won’t fly.” She teased and Damien smiled. “And secondly
” He caught the way her eyes drifted to him and smirked, almost triumphantly, even though he had no idea what she was going to say yet. “You steal Jamie so I can steal Mr. Fox for just one dance, it’s a tradition after all.” He knew this was a lie, but Dustin agreed to it anyway, and Damien smirked slyly before she sauntered off towards the house again.

"Well I guess we should go get those boxes Dus." He said, nicknaming him with a laugh as he headed for the house.

There were four boxes and Damien and Dustin brought them out to the barn one at a time.

Once they were all out there, Damien went to the barn office, and grabbed two beers. There were still empty liquor bottles on the ground from Kitty, and he took them and threw them out before heading back to Dusting and tossing the kid one of the beers as he leaned on a box and waited for Niki to come out.

Niki blew her long blond hair dry, before braiding it all to the side and putting on a simple coat of mascara and lining her eyes with black liner. She was just decorating, but she still had the urge to look someone decent. She changed into a pair ofblack capri yoga pants and a gray tank top before slipping on her black flats and heading out to the barn. She saw the guys lead up against the boxes, slightly irritated Dustin was still there.

“You guys seen Jessie or Kitty around?” she asked curious “I’m a little worried Jessie murdered her or something, Missy said it looked like they were fighting earlier.” She said joining the two guys who looked very awkward together.

“Isn’t that what they always do
fight
have sex
fight some more.” Dustin laughed; Niki shot him an irritated look.

“No, that’s all Jessie knows how to do.” She quickly corrected.

Niki grabbed Dustin’s beer taking a swig of it, knowing Damien wouldn’t give his up so easily. “Don’t you have a home to be at or some other pretty girl to bother?” she said as he reached for his beer although she moved it from his reach.

“Funny Nik, give it back.” He said getting slightly irritated

“Nope.” She said taking another swig of it. She was quickly returning to her old, playful, flirty, bitchy self as if the pas twenty four hours hadn’t happened. “Bye Dustin.” She smirked waving “See you tomorrow.” He rolled his eyes, knowing he was being kicked out she watched as he climbed into his rover ranger taking off, peeling out a bit.

“He’s always throwing fits.” She rolled her eyes heading into the barns office flipping on music, though slightly irritated when it wasn’t her usual slow jams. She quickly changed it. The song blaring louder than normal. “Love this song.” She said grabbing another beer. As she started going throw the boxes not bothering to wait for Damien, she was trying her best to pretend nothing happened, maybe too hard. She just didn’t want him to think she was some desperate, home wrecker pinning over him. If anything, now that she knew he had some feelings for her, she was going to play hard to get.

"You're wrong!" he heard he yell after him and he could hear the crack in her voice, this didn’t cause him to stop, but his pace slowed down and he could suddenly feel his anger draining from him, he almost felt exhausted, but he continued to walk slowly. Knowing she wasn’t done, he wanted to know what she was going to say, but he didn’t want her to know he was interested. "I'm not better off without you." he rolled his eyes at this and picked up his pace again, irritated. His whole reason for leaving in the first place was to protect her, everyone he cared about including Niki although he’d never even admit that on his death bed. He’d done it because like she had said earlier he ruined everything he touched.

"What exactly were you trying to avoid turning me into by leaving Jessie?" he took a deep breath her voice was fading "Because I have news for you." he listened, swallowing knowing what was coming next "Your leaving, turned me into it." he winced at this, knowing it was true, he’d known it the second she’d walked into the room yesterday after noon. "I keep coming after you, because it's possible for someone to care about you, you know!" this made him stop, completely. "If you'd stop acting like such a selfish asshole, maybe you'd stop running all the time and realize there are people who.." he closed his eyes letting her words sink in, everything she said was completely true, he was just to blind. "Who love you." this nearly broke his heart, It was her way of telling him that she loved him, which the two of them honestly didn’t know how to do very often.

Then as if a flip was switched, he turned back into the sober, somewhat normal Jessie he had been at the beach. But there was no way in hell he could ever expect her to forgive him for what he had just done. Treating her as if she was a member from one of his rival gangs, just short of pounding her face with his fist, apologizes wouldn’t cut it this time. "Your drug dealers and whores?" this brought him from his thoughts as he listened once again. "So go ahead I guess. Run away from the people who actually give a shit about your worthless ass, again to people who'd kill you in an instant if they had to." he shook his head utterly defeated. He wasn’t exactly sure how she was the only one on this god damn planet who make him feel angry, passionately in love, and guilty all at the same time.

It was like she knew exactly what to say to too draw him back in every time, he didn’t want to keep hurting her, it was all he knew how to do, all they knew how to do. He turned and started at her, for once not seeing Kitty, but a girl he’d completely destroyed. He took a deep breath closing his eyes, before opening them and crossing the distance he’d made between them, finally kneeling down in front of her. Pulling the bag of drugs from his pocket and dropping it in front of her.

“Baby, I’m killing you.” He whispered, lifting her chin “I
I don’t know what to do.” He admitted “You’re the only person I want to be with, the one person I want to protect and I can’t do either of those things when I’m with you.” He frowned.

Kitty watched as his pace slowed, then sped up again, then slowed, then stopped all together. She knew she'd reached him. She watched him shake his head, as if he was exhausted. He seemed to be thinking about something and she sat there patiently, until he turned around and looked at her, and her heart jumped. Jessie was back, and she almost couldn't bear the way he was looking at her.

With so much guilt, it hurt. It made her feel like shit for the things she'd said to him. She knew he felt guilty, and she'd gone and thrown it in his face.

She watched as he walked back over to her and knelt down in front of her, dropping the bag of drugs on the ground before her.

For a moment, she just sat there and stared at the little baggie, unable to take her eyes off it. She knew it was hard for him to give them up. She knew because she'd been there. They were an escape, she understood that, and she'd taken it away from him.

“Baby, I’m killing you.” He whispered, and she couldn't keep her heart from fluttering as he lifted her chin gently to look at him. She wanted him so bad, wanted to just be a normal couple. Wanted to just forgive him for all that he'd done to her, and vice vera. But that wasn't possible for them. “I
I don’t know what to do.” He admitted, sounding defeated, and the pain on his face seemed to wound her as well. “You’re the only person I want to be with, the one person I want to protect and I can’t do either of those things when I’m with you.”

Kitty sighed, exhausted, and looked into his eyes. Gently, she placed her arms on his shoulders and scooted herself forwards so there was but a breath of space between them. "You don't have to be the hero all the time babe." She whispered, closing her eyes and leaning forward, pressing her forehead to his. She smiled slightly and opened her eyes, looking at him. "Maybe I like dying," she said with a shrug. "As long as it's you killing me, and not myself."

Kitty pulled him close and kissed him. She wanted him to feel how sorry she was for what she'd said. That she didn't mean it. It was deep, and passionate, and she sat up on her knees, pulling him closer, kissing him deeper, like the moment would never end, and hoping it wouldn't. Her heart pounded, and her cheeks blushed as she gripped his shirt and sighed into the kiss, leaving it up to him to pull away or not, because she sure as hell wasn't going to be the one to.

“You guys seen Jessie or Kitty around?” Nikota asked as she came back, and Damien glanced around as though they were hiding just around the corner. He'd begun to wonder where they were too. “I’m a little worried Jessie murdered her or something, Missy said it looked like they were fighting earlier.” Damien just shrugged, having no doubt in his mind that Kitty could handle Jessie.

“Isn’t that what they always do
fight
have sex
fight some more.” Dustin said with a laugh, and Damien laughed too, but not at Dustin's joke, at the look Niki shot him.

“No, that’s all Jessie knows how to do.” Damien laughed again and nodded in agreement.

He watched as Niki teased Dustin until he left, leaving them alone, and Damien smiled as he watched her walk into the office and flip on some music, muttering something about Dustin on her way.

He smiled at her taste in music as she came back out and started rumaging through the boxes, so he did the same, taking a swig of his beer. "Look at us." He said, nudging her with a laugh. "How incredibly hallmark this moment it." He said as he pulled out decoration after decoration. None of which, he really had a clue what to do with. "Like old times."

He took another drink of his beer and watched her for a moment, taking in how beautiful she was before going back to his work. He'd really missed her lately, and was glad they'd started getting close again. Exactly how close though, he wasn't too sure about. All he cared about was that she no longer hated him.

"Look at us." She glanced up at him, when he nudged her "How incredibly hallmark this moment it." she laughed "Like old times.".

“It is pretty Hallmark of us isn’t it.” She said taking a few of his decorations as she started to decorate.

She took another swig of her beer as she finished hanging up a few things. “I don’t even know why you help, when you just sit there and watch me do all the work.” She teased, but the truth was Niki had always done it while he pretended to help, mostly because this was something her mother had started and Niki had known exactly how her mother use to decorate, because it used to be Niki’s mother in Damien’s place and after everything Damien took over keeping her company.

A familiar beat of one of her favorite songs sounded over the speakers as Niki started to dance a mix between her attempt to be somewhat gangster and dorky at the same time. Moving her shoulders from side to side, snapping as she continued to decorate.

She smirked turning to him raising a brow, as she let her hips sway a little more serious actually reveling that she was pretty good at make her dance sexy. “Close then my peeps you are to me baby.” She sang along gesturing him with her index finger “Shorty your my angel
” she continued “Oh come on D, I know you know the lyrics.” She said dancing over to him, slightly buzzed from the beer, but nowhere near drunk.

She winked at him, with a dangerously, flirtatious smirk, as she placed a hand on his shoulder, playfully grinding on him leaning back a bit using him for support, the father she leaned back, before smoothly coming back up, winking “What you don’t know how to dirty dance?” she taunted.

He felt her scoot closer and he couldn’t help but smirk, though it wasn’t his normal cocky smirk, it was a genuinely happy one. "You don't have to be the hero all the time babe." this made him rolled his eyes, though his smile remained. "Maybe I like dying," this drove him nuts that she was taking him back so easily, but he wasn’t about to fight it "As long as it's you killing me, and not myself." before he had the chance to respond to any of what she was saying he found himself lost in her kiss.

He grew light headed and his heart pounded as she grabbed his shirt kissing him harder, He wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her even closer, closing any of the small spaced between them until they were as close as they could possibly be. He kissed her back just as hard leaning back into a sitting position, so they had more to support their heated session. With his free hand through her hair until his hand was resting on her cheek, letting her know he wasn’t letting her go anytime soon. He pulled away placing warm calculated kisses along her jaw line and down her neck slowly until he reached her collar bone.

It was obvious they were both out of breath. Once he reached her collar bone he quickly pulled her back into a deep, passionate kiss, kissing her as if he had been away at war. His hand now resting on the back of her neck, he gently pulled away staring into her eyes, smoothly tucking a strand of her loose hair behind her ear. “I love you Kitten, you and me against the world.” He whispered with a loving smile “forever.” It was a promise, this one he could keep, he smiled kissing her nose.

Kitty smiled against his lips as he pulled her closer. She'd wanted to stay mad at him. Wanted to be pissed at the way he'd treated her like a doll he could just slap around, but as soon as she'd kissed him, it all drained away, and all she wanted was him. He was her perfect drug. Her latest fix. He was so bad for her, and yet it felt so good.

He kissed her back, and that was all that mattered. That he hadn't pushed her away because he was still angry. He leaned back, sitting again, and she followed him, sighing as he ran his fingers through her hair and placed his hand on her cheek. His lips pulled away from hers, and for a brief second, she felt sad, until they returned to her again, only a little lower, tracing a line down her neck.

She moaned softly and stretched her neck, giving him more room, leaning into him before his lips stopped at her collarbone and once again came back to her lips, a hard, passionate kiss. Like he hadn't seen her in years. It sent a warm rush of heat through her, making her shiver slightly as she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and kissed back.

She could hardly breathe when he pulled away, her breathing shallow and quick, but she didn't care. It was perfect. His hand was warm on the back of her neck and he tucked a piece of her hair away from her face gently. “I love you Kitten, you and me against the world.” He whispered as she caught her breath. “Forever.”

She smiled as he kissed her nose, and kissed him again, lazily this time, a small, light kiss, before looking at him. He'd said he'd loved her. She wasn't sure he'd ever said that to her before. She unlaced her arms from around his neck and placed her hands in her lap, looking down at the ugly bruises around her wrists briefly, before back up at him.

"I love you too Jess." She whispered back, letting him know she was serious. There was no other way to explain what they had. And, as much as she wanted to deny it, she just couldn't. It had to be love. There was no other way she'd keep going back to him, and he'd keep going back to her.

Kitty sighed, looking at him. She wasn't sure how she'd survive another day like the one they'd had so far. She pulled him close, not wanting to move, knowing that, as soon as they did, the moment might end and they'd be fighting again. "What do we do now?" She whispered, eyes on his with a small, slightly mischievous, smile.

“It is pretty Hallmark of us isn’t it?” Niki said as she started to decorate and he watched.

“I don’t even know why you help, when you just sit there and watch me do all the work.” She teased, but he knew that she really didn't mind. It was something they did together every year except for one. The one he'd been gone. It felt good to do this again. To just spend time with her. She was crazy, and wild, but he loved that about her.

One of her favorite songs started to play, and Damien laughed while she attempted dancing, looking like a huge dork. He watched as she grew more serious, and started to swing her hips, he smiled mischievously and listened to her sing. “Close then my peeps you are to me baby.” She sang, gesturing to him. “Shorty your my angel
” she continued “Oh come on D, I know you know the lyrics.” She coaxed him and danced her way over.

He laughed and took another drink of his beer as she danced on him, winking, and flirting. “What you don’t know how to dirty dance?” she taunted, and he laughed, setting his beer down.

He placed his hands on her hips and moved with her, backing her up slowly until she was against the wall completely. Then he just stopped and looked at her, wanting so badly to kiss her again, but not knowing if she wanted it, and, after the last time, not sure if he should take the chance.

He smiled and slid his hand around the back of her neck, under her hair, and watched her face for clues. "I want to kiss you again." He whispered. Normally, with anyone else, he would just do it, but this was not anyone else. This was Niki, and, as wild and crazy as she acted, she was fragile.

He had to be careful with her. He didn't want a repeat of the night before, and he didn't want to take their friendship anywhere she didn't want to.

She couldn’t help but laugh as he backed her into the wall, she was well aware when he stopped and started at her what he wanted to do. "I want to kiss you again." his words confirmed her thoughts. She didn’t answer him right away, she already knew she wanted to kiss him, more then she’d ever wanted to kiss anyone. She stared up at him, his brown eyes on her, she simply smirked. She placed her index finger to her lips, followed by a soft shhh. She took his hand, leading him to the office pushing him in rather forcefully and locking the door behind them.

“Kissing out in the open where everyone can see us probably isn’t the smartest idea.” She said closing the space between them as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “If you want to kiss me again, then kiss me.” She whispered “But, don’t’ break my heart D.” she threatened gently grabbing his shirt and pulling him closer until their forehead were touching “cause if you do, I’ll fuck you up.” She smirked.

She kissed him deeply, the moment their lips touched it was a different feeling then she’d ever felt with anyone else. Her heart pounded in her chest and she blushed lightly. Her hand resting on his check taking, taking in every second of the kiss not wanting it to end, the moment felt to perfect, she smiled against his lips, letting out a soft moan.

He held her tracing her wrist with his fingers softly where the bruises had already started to form, he felt terrible, his stomach twisting in a knot from what he’d done to her. "What do we do now?" she whispered looking up at him with a small smile. He couldn’t help but smile back. He lifted on wrist to his lips kissing it softly as if he had the magic touch to heal it. “First of all
I’m sorry.” She whispered back. Apologizing twice in one day
he’d definitely lost his mind, he thought.

“Secondly, I think both of us have had enough excitement for the day, we both need some rest.” He said picking her up and holding her in his arms, not willing to let her go even if she asked as he headed back towards the house. It was quite a walk back to the house, but he carried her the whole way. Finally they reached the barn, hearing music playing from inside. “Guess we should have helped.” Jessie shrugged.

He was upset at the fact that they had wasted all day fighting, for no reason. He carried her inside the house, Mr. D ‘ Angelo simply giving him a nodded as he carried her up the stairs laying her down gently on his bed. “Hey Jess, we still on for tomorrow night.” He heard Olive’s voice from the door way of his bedroom. perfect timing Barbie. he thought, hoping this didn’t start another fight. “Listen cupcake, I already promised Kitten I’d take her” he started causing Olive to pout a bit. “I shouldn’t have asked you.” He said the last words slightly harshly, though not meaning that way. Olive frowned stomping down the stairs. Jessie shrugged, too tired to fight anyone at this point shutting the door behind him and crawling into the bed next to Kat, pulling her close to him, closing his eyes.

Kitty looked down at where his hands gently held her wrists. The touch was so different from just moments ago. It was soft, gentle, loving, and, most of all, sorry. She knew he felt bad, and she watched as he lifted her arm to his lips, gently kissing her bruises, sending bolts of electricity through her. “First of all
I’m sorry.” He whispered as he kissed the wounds he'd made, and she smiled softly.

She knew it was hard for Jessie to apologize, and he'd done it twice now, in one day. “Secondly, I think both of us have had enough excitement for the day, we both need some rest.” She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair with a nod of agreement. She felt drained, both physically and emotionally. She felt weak, and she wasn't sure she'd be able to keep up their patterns for the rest of the night. He scooped her up, and she shook her head.

"Jessie..." She protested, knowing it was a long way back, but he insisted, so she just leaned herself against him, allowing herself to feel small and helpless for a little while as he carried her.

They approached the barn, and she could hear music playing, meaning Nikota was home. Kitty suddenly missed her step-sister. It had only been a day, but it felt like years since she'd seen her. She should have made Jessie take her to the hospital to see her instead of coming home. “Guess we should have helped.” He said, and Kitty just nodded as he carried her into the house.

They passed Kit's step father, who nodded to them, knowing they'd had a long day, and he carried her up the stairs and into his room. Gently, he lay her on his bed, and she sat up, watching him. “Hey Jess, we still on for tomorrow night?” Kitty heard Olive's voice from behind him and couldn't help but tense up. She was too exhausted to fight him again, but that didn't mean she could stop the jealousy from getting to her. “Listen cupcake, I already promised Kitten I’d take her.” He said in response and Kit smiled. She was still a little jealous, and still seriously hated Olive, but at least he'd chosen her. “I shouldn't have asked you.” His words would sound a little harsh to anyone else, but to Kitty, they sounded perfect.

Kitty grinned, watching him shrug and just close the door, coming to lay next to her on the bed and pull her close. She laughed lightly and untangled herself from him for a moment. "Woah there." She said, kissing his lips lightly. "I'm not sure how we've managed not to notice all day, but if you'll remember, I woke up drunk on a beach somewhere, covered in salt water, and I still haven't showered." She laughed lightly and stood.

Her step-father was rich, meaning that every bedroom in the house was fully equipped with a bathroom, and a walk-in closet."I'll be back in a second." She said, walking over to his still unpacked suitcase and swipping a shirt from the top before slipping into his bathroom and closing the door.

Inside, she pulled her shirt off and looked at herself in the mirror, running down her spine were dark, ugly bruises. She slipped out of her shorts and noticed that they were also on her hips. Jessie must have thrown her down harder than she'd thought.

With a sigh, she showered quickly and slipped into the t-shirt she'd stolen from Jessie, effectivly covering her bruises. She didn't want him to see them, because she knew he'd feel awful.

Kitty stood there for a moment, staring at herself in the mirror, running a finger along the scar on her thigh, now clompletely visible from the way his t-shirt lay just short of it.

Then she turned away and went back to the room, climbing in the bed next to Jessie and pulling herself close. She grinned lazily and gently kissed his lips as she wrapped a leg around his. "It's been a while since we've been in bed together J." She said teasingly, with a small laugh as she pulled herself into his arms.

Damien could tell by the look on her face that she wanted the same thing he wanted, and he smiled slightly as she smirked and shh'ed him, taking his hand and leading him away, into the office, closing the door behind them.

“Kissing out in the open where everyone can see us probably isn’t the smartest idea.” She said as she came close and wrapped her arms around him. “If you want to kiss me again, then kiss me.” She whispered, and Damien's heart skipped a beat to hear that she wanted it too. “But, don’t’ break my heart D.” she threatened as she grabbed him and pulled him close. “cause if you do, I’ll fuck you up.”

She smirked and he laughed lightly, though there was something a little heavy about the laugh. She was asking a huge promise of him, and he'd do his best to keep it, but, with their current situation with Jamie and Dustin, there was no way neither of them was not going to experience any heartbreak.

Then she closed the final space between them and kissed him. He smiled against her lips and placed his hands on her hips, yanking her closer, deepening the kiss as he kissed back. His heart pounded until he was afraid it would burst, and his body was overtaken by bolts of tingling electricity as she moaned into him.

He used his hands at her hips to lift her gently, setting her on the desk as he leaned into her, kissing her lips, her cheek, her jaw, down her neck, and back up, each kiss becoming more frantic, one hand behind her neck, holding her in the kiss so she couldn't break away, the other resting gently on her thigh.

Again, Damien kissed all the way along her shoulder before coming back to her lips once more. It felt like nothing he'd ever felt before. Not even with Jamie. When he kissed her, sure, he felt a rush, but not like this. Not in the same way he was with Niki, right at that moment.

Finally, he pulled away, breathing heavily as he looked at her. "Damn." Was all he could say as he examined her face, looking for traces of what he'd felt in her eyes. So he knew she had felt the same thing.

Her heart skipped a beat, maybe even nearly stopped when he lifted her onto the desk. It was so unexpected and she loved it. Her cheeks where hot from the adrenaline that pulsed through her body. She closed her eyes leaning back and extending her neck as he kissed down it, then he brought his lips back to hers. She may have been only sixteen, but she had hooked up with more guys then she could count, I mean what else did everyone think she was doing when she’d disappear for hours at a time at the competitions. But nothing had been as amazing as this, she had never had this kind of chemistry with anyone.

Finally he pulled away ”Damn” she heard him whisper staring at her and she knew what he wanted to know that she had enjoyed it just as much as she had. But she wasn’t ready to give him that satisfaction, not until she knew for sure she wasn’t just his little play toy. She knew Damien better than anyone else and he probably knew her better then she knew herself. But, she also knew boys like the back of her hand and he was still a boy, one who was currently cheating on his wife with his bosses underage daughter and after displaying so much weakness last night over something so stupid, she wasn’t about to show that side of her again and she had always told herself; “It’s better to be the heartbreaker, then the broken hearted.”

She smirked wrapping her legs around his waist and pulling him in for one more quick kiss, before playfully pushing him away and hopping of the desk. She was convinced that if he really wanted to be with her, he wouldn’t mind chasing her and maybe that’s why she put up with Dustin, she liked being chased, but the difference with Damien was, she might actually let him catch her.

She walked over to the mini fridge in her dads office stocked full of beer, tossing him one and taking one for herself. “So Casanova, ready to finish or would you prefer round two?” she raised a brow. It was ridiculous how much confidence she had and how good she was at acting like nothing ever happened. It was how she got away with so much without her father know, in fact her and Kitty were pretty much professionals.

He laughed lightly as she said she needed a shower and he watched her go, letting his body fully relax. He was exhausted, from fighting and worrying about her. He hated himself for physically harming her like he had, he wished she would have let him go. Then again he loved her and he was glad she hadn’t let him go, God knows he would have gotten himself into some kind of trouble enough to send his ass straight back to jail and then ultimately prison.

He watched her walk to the bed in hisshirt, he couldn’t help but smirk and damn did she look good in it. He watched the way she moved and there was no mistaking she was a dancer. He felt his heart flutter a bit when she climbed into bed next to him and tangled her legs with his.

"It's been a while since we've been in bed together J." he shivered a bit when she called him J, though not enough for her to notice, there was just something about the way she said it that drove him crazy.

He kissed her neck softly, maybe almost too softly as he sat up a bit leaning on his elbow. He gently moved her shoulders until she was facing him. “It’s been a long time since we were this quite.” He whispered, leaning down and kissing her lips, pulling as he looked into her eyes. “Your Beautiful Kitten.” He whispered, just for her to hear. He pulled the pack of cigarettes and lighter from his back pocket , lighting it before taking a drag off of it blowing it above the two of them before handing the cigarette to her.
