"We have to ask ourselves whether medicine is to remain a humanitarian and respected profession or a new but depersonalized science in the service of prolonging life rather than diminishing human suffering."
Personality: (I really hope you don't mind me keeping this somewhat generalized and short.) Alisdair, despite his flare for fighting, pertains the uncanny ability to keep cool and calm in very stressful situations. He usually never lets his emotions grasp the better of him, thus allowing him to think rationally and logically at nearly all times. This, however, means he also has an extreme lack of empathy to other people. Viewing most as an equation, it is easy for Alisdair to make decisions other people would hesitate to make. If it weren't for his rasheness, arrogance, and somewhat dominating nature; Alisdair would ironically make a good military leader.
Fears: Though even he himself is unsure of how it developed, Alisdair pertains a bit of germophobia, and it has occured only recently, after Armageddon. He feels it is ultimately beneficial, a 'Medic' whom is diffucult to operate with is often times disregarded. Because of his previous occupation, Alisdair is also heavily conflicted with atychophobia, highlighting a fear of failure.
Habits: Alisdair has the nervous habit of running his index finger along the length of a bone white scar on his left thumb, he obtained the mark from a misplaced scalpel. He also has the tendency to rub his hand down the length of his jaw to feel his quickly growing beard.
Emotional Sensitivities: Any topic pertaining to the specific laboratory he used to work in. He often reflects back on the events that happened there, mainly he inquires with himself on what he could have done to save a few friends of his that died from overexposure to radiation while Alisdair did his best to "reinforce" the facility, though he won't talk about it much if he is asked about it.
Ethical Beliefs: Pragmatic and Righteous. He does not care too much about what someone plans to do, unless it means getting killed. Due to his past endeavors, it has hindered some of his personality from truly caring about someone, yet a new side has opened inside him, assisting those when he truly spots someone with unwavering justice, those that will not give up, no matter what the consequences. He believes that if someone does not try their absolute hardest in what they do, there is no use helping them…unless there is something in it for him.
Notable Items:
Occupation Prior to Armageddon: Before he earned his medical degree, Alisdair served in the war as a combat medic, obtaining the invaluable skills he still pertains to this day. After he was discharged, he worked as a Virologist. He and a few other cohorts (A radiologist, a fellow virologist, a microbiologist, and a toxicologist) were stationed in their assigned laboratory when Armageddon happened. Alisdair did his best to "reinforce" the facility, which was inevitably useless.
Ironically, it was the radiologist whom was the first to contract radiation poisoning, from which he wouldn't recover. It wasn't that those whom were there couldn't save him, they certainly had the equipment necessary, they simply chose not to. One less mouth to feed. Alisdair and the others lived off of the fish in the decorative aquarium for as long as they could from rationing the fish, but they eventually were forced out of the lab due to the lack of food. Alisdair was lucky enough to obtain the hazmat gear (Except the headpiece), but his carelessness coupled with his clumsiness has led to many holes in such.
Formal Training: Alisdair was trained as a combat medic in the war, and is also experienced in the field of Virology.
