Kennedy was glad that Keegan had come when he had, but even if he hadn’t Nate was there a moment after Keegan had finished beating the shit out of the guy. She was in more pain then she was willing to admit and as much as she wanted to give up, her will to survive and making sure Dahlia, Keegan, and Nate were all safe was more important than any pain she was filling.

"Yeah. That one." He smirked "We should probably get going though, before we're swamped." she watched his eyes run over her and she rolled her eyes, because she hated that he was worried about her when they had bigger things to worry about.

She glanced to Keegan and Dahlia with a wicked smirk before she followed after Nate, gripping her gun tightly. She glanced out to the water seeing four more boats headed their way. Kai had underestimated them, but he wouldn’t do it again and she knew that. The boat was close enough for them to jump and she slipped off her shoes quickly, She didn’t wait for Nate to help her, because she didn’t have time to play the damsel in distress and she’d never really been good at it in the first place.

She glanced to Nate with a wild smirk on her lips and a dangerous look in her eyes. “Keep up babe, I don’t want to have to save you.” She teased, she climbed up on the edge of the boat jumping across to the other boat. She barely made it, but made it none the less, she went to work immediately making sure there was no one else on the boat, but ti was fairly small and she’d only had to shoot one guy who she assumed was the one driving the boat. She didn’t kill him only shot him enough to injure him, before pushing him over the boat.

Keegan was more worried about keeping Dahlia and Kenna safe, he wasn’t worried about him or Nate, simply because they could handle themselves and he had so much adrenaline running through his veins he couldn’t even feel the two places he’d been shot anymore. Nate had joined them seconds after he’d stood up and his fists were covered in blood. Nate confirmed what he’d asked and told them they’d be taking the closest boat to them and he nodded. Nate took off and Kenna followed, he turned to Dahlia then.

“You alright?” he asked knowing everything had to be getting to her and he knew the only reason it wasn’t getting to Kennedy is because she was numb, when they were finally safe, his sister would lose it. “We should go.” She said leaning in and kissing her forehead.

He held his gun in one hand and used his other arm warping it around her waist protectively as he led her out to where he saw his sister jumping across and he winced lightly, because all it take was one mistake and she’d be hurt worse then she already was. He heard a gunshot a few minutes later. He didn’t see Kenna though and he glanced to Nate.

“Shit.” He breathed “Get over there.” He order not about to leave Dahlia alone.

Dahlia watched as Nate and Kenna took off. Everything was happening so fast, but her heart was racing so wildly, sending adrenaline through her veins, she couldn't even feel the shot between her shoulders, and the grip she had on her gun tightened, almost eager to use it.

Keegan turned to her and she glanced up at him. "You alright?” He asked and Dahlia nodded softly. She was terrified they'd get killed, but she wasn't going to let it get to her. Not yet. “We should go.” He said and kissed her on the forehead and she nodded again because he was right.

He slipped an arm around her waist and led her with him, and she followed. The two of them watched as Kenna jumped across to the other boat and there were gunshots before Keegan ordered Nate to go after her. Dahlia watched him go before glancing at Keegan with a smirk.

“Well let's not just stand around and wait to be killed.” She grinned wickedly and kissed him hard on the lips before pulling away from him and following Kenna and Nate's lead, climbing up on the boat's edge and leaping across without bothering to wait for Keegan.

Nate moved quickly, and Kenna caught up just as quickly, making him smirk as they neared the boat and he watched her kick off her shoes. Instantly, he knew what she was about to do, just by the wicked smirk she shot him.

“Keep up babe, I don’t want to have to save you.” She teased and he reached out to stop her, but before he could, she'd leaped across to the other boat and he winced, watching her. He may know she could handle herself, but tat didn't mean he wasn't worried about her.

Gunshots came from the other boat and Keegan hardly had to tell him to follow her before he was jumping across. He moved quickly, finding her as fast as he could to find she was okay. The guy who'd been driving the boat wasn't so lucky though and he smirked at her, glancing up as Dahlia leapt across too. "We should get out of here." He sighed, glancing at her and then out to the water where more boats were on their way.

Kennedy glanced up only to see the boats getting closer, not close enough to start firing again, but all they had were seconds. She’d only ever learned to drive the boat Kai had gotten and she looked over the controls of the boat they were currently on trying to mentally match them with the others because they were slightly different, not to mention every damn word was in Spanish and while she’d picked up a bit of it, reading it was something completely different.

"We should get out of here." She glanced up to see Nate was next to her.

“That’s what I’m trying to do.” She snapped. “Please feel free to take control if you know how to drive this thing.” She sighed, not meaning to be a total bitch, but the pressure alone was making her snap.

Her eyes ran over the high tech controls and nobs once more before hearing a gun shot and a few seconds later another one causing her to jump and glance to the other boat seeing her brother. She narrowed his eyes seeing that he was having trouble. “Shit” she breathed watching him jump across, before she started to boat and they were off. They weren’t safe though and they wouldn’t be until they lost the other boat.

“Well let's not just stand around and wait to be killed.” Dahlia said pulling his attention from the other boat as he glanced to her she kissed him hard and he kissed her back just as hard, smirking against her lips.

She pulled away and he watched her jump to the other boat, his whole body tensing until she landed safely on the deck of the boat, but he didn’t follow after her, instead he made his way up the stairs to the duffel bag that Kenna had packed with guns and drugs grabbing it. He was sure there was there were guns on the boat they were stealing, but he didn’t want to chance it especially with Kai and Jack after them. He heard the cocking of a gun behind him and the cold metal on his neck. He closed his eyes turning around slowly to see Tristan standing in front of him gun pointed straight at his heart. Keegan put his hands up in mock defeat.

“Pull the trigger.” He said simply. “Pull that trigger and see if that girl ever forgives you.” He spat, Tristan glared at him and Keegan’s eyes glanced to Tristan’s hesitant finger on the trigger all it would take was a little more pressure on the trigger and Keegan would be dead.

“You think I won’t?” Tristan spat bitterly “You don’t fucking deserve her. You don’t know here like I do!” He practically yelled making Keegan wince, because as strong as Keegan was he was smart enough to know that Tristan had lost it and if he pulled the trigger he’d be dead in seconds. “You can’t have her.” Tristan breathed.

As soon as the words left his mouth Keegan moved quickly, but not quick enough he’d managed to mess up Tristan’s aim only for the bullet to hit him in the middle of his chest instead of his heart and he knew almost instantly that the bullet had hit on of his lungs. He let out a painful groan, dropping to his knees.

“Fuck.” He breathed, struggling to breath and trying to fight through the pain, he knew though if he didn’t try and fight back, Tristan would kill him and he had way to many people to protect to let some jealous ass hole kill him. That’s when he realized he was still clinging to his gun and he pulled himself quicker than Tristan could reload his gun and he shot him.

He shot him only enough to wound him because as much as he wanted to place a bullet right between his eyes, only after watching him beg for his life, he knew Dahlia way to well and he knew that if he did kill him, somehow that would kill a part of her no matter how much she hated him at the moment. Keegan didn’t waste time, he struggled with the duffel bag making his way down stairs stopping and leaning against the railing of the stairs coughing violently. He finally managed to make it down stairs and with what energy he had left he jumped across to the other boat. He dropped the duffel bag and collapsed to the ground resting his back against the boat, coughing up blood and he wasn’t entirely sure he’d survive.

As soon as Dahlia landed on the deck of the other boat, she turned and glanced across at Keegan. He didn't jump though. Instead, she watched him run off, and she was smart enough to know it was to grab something important. She couldn't see him for an agonizingly long minute and there were gunshots, making her wince, but eventually he came back into sight, duffel bag in hand.

She took a few steps back to give him room as he leapt across to the boat, and ran over to him as he collapsed to the boat. They took off, but Dahlia wasn't stupid enough to think they were free yet. They'd still have to outrun the other boat.

She fell to her knees next to Keegan, eyes instantly landing on the bleeding wound in his chest while he coughed up blood. "Oh my god." She breathed, heart rate picking up suddenly. "Keegan." She could hardly whisper the two syllables of his name. It looked bad. "What happened?" Her hands were suddenly shaking, fearing the worst instantly.

Nate could tell Kenna was utterly confused, looking at the controls and he wished he could help her but he didn't know anything about driving boats so he knew he should probably just stay out of her way. “That’s what I’m trying to do.” She snapped and he sighed, keeping his eyes on the approaching boat. “Please feel free to take control if you know how to drive this thing.” She sighed, and he knew her nerves were tight so he didn't take if personally.

Nate glanced at the other boat, watching Keegan run off to grab something last minute and sighed. They really had to get going. The other boat would be on them in a second.

There were gunshots and he hoped like hell they'd come from Keegan's gun and not someone else's, but a second later, Keegan appeared again and leapt across to the boat. He didn't look like he was in good shape, and Dahlia ran over to him.

Finally, Kenna managed to get the boat going and he went over to the rail, holding his gun tightly in his hand, hoping the boat wouldn't get any closer, but ready to try and start shooting people down if they did.

Kennedy was going just about as fast as the boat would manage, but their boats were just as fast and they didn’t have very much of a head start on them and as she looked up the boats had started to fade and she narrowed her eyes confused, they were being called off? That didn’t seem right to her, Kai would never let them win, unless he had other plans, but she honesty didn’t care if it meant that they were safe for the moment then that was all she needed.

She managed to figure out the auto pilot and watched as the boats disappeared. She wasn’t sure where the hell they would go all she knew was when they got to land they’d have to move quick, because there was no doubt that Kai had a tracker on the boat and that was the only reason he’d called his guys off, because they’d be easy to find and Kai wasn’t patient enough to chase them he wanted results quickly.

She glanced to Nate, gun in his hand ready to shoot if he had to. “This won’t end until they’re dead.” She breathed. Now that they weren’t in as much danger she was starting to feel the pain and the emotional strain of it all. “Maybe it’s best if I go back…alone.” she said honestly, like they had no other choice. “He won’t Ill me Nathan, because watching me suffer will give him enough satisfaction to keep me alive and kill the three of you.” She said fighting back tears.

It was the honest truth, even though Austen had said he was pissed off at her, the reality of it was Kai was to lovesick over her to kill her and she doubted that Kai would let Jack kill Dahlia or vice versa, but it was a possibility. Kai would get a sick satisfaction out of watching her suffer while her brutally murdered Nate and her brother and possibly her best friend. But, if she went back, she could keep them safe. Kenna was content with being miserable and knowing that Nate and Keegan and Dahlia were alive, rather than being miserably empty and knowing it was her who was the cause for their deaths.

“As much as I love to think we can win this we can’t.” she breathed finally letting tears fall down her cheeks. “That was a very small amount of what he can do and were already fucked up, just from that.” She said looking at him.

Keegan was in a ton of pain, so much so that he could feel himself going in and out of consciousness. His head was rested against the boat and his eyes closed as he tried to stay awake, because he was scared if he blacked out he wouldn’t come too and he’d either die or be in a coma and then everything that they’d fought for would be pointless and he wasn’t ready to loose Dahlia.

"Oh my god." he heard her voice next to him, but he just continued to focus on his uneven breathing. "Keegan. What happened?" he could hear the fear in her voice and he wanted to reach out and hold her, but he simply couldn’t move.

He opened his eyes, giving her the best smirk he could possibly muster. He didn’t want her to worry, although he knew that was asking far too much, because if it was her sitting where he was, he’d be an emotional wreck. Another wave of pain ran through him and he winced, groaning in pain. Letting silence fall over them for a moment, before glancing back to her.

“Babe, I’m fine. It was nothing.” He smirked like it was no big deal. “We missed one of those fuckers, he shot me and I shot him back.” he said lying perfectly and he wasn’t entirely sure why he was protecting Tristan’s name, but he felt like he had to. “I’ll be fine.” He said having trouble breathing.

As afraid of being killed as she was, Dahlia was even more terrified of Keegan being killed. Because the only thing worse than dying was having to live without him. Especially so soon after she'd gotten him back. He looked like he was in terrible shape and she knew that was a horrible sign. Even if he could survive it as is, there was more coming that he'd have to somehow get through, and the odds didn't look good at all.

He opened his eyes and she watched him smirk, clearly trying to get her to relax, but it was hard, seeing him that way. She couldn't get her hands to stop shaking, and she knew what she should be doing. She should be searching the boat for some sort of medical supplies, or at the very least, a first aid kit and fix, not only him, but the rest of them up so they'd be in a little better condition once they got to land. She should be making herself useful, but she couldn't. Her heart was pounding too quickly for her too think practically.

Dahlia watched him wince and groan in pain, and a silence fell over them, like, no matter how hard he tried to make it look like it wasn't a huge deal, they both knew it was bad but neither of them wanted to say it. Then his eyes came back to hers and she held them. “Babe, I’m fine. It was nothing.” He smirked, but she couldn't believe him. He'd been coughing up blood. It sure as hell didn't look like nothing. “We missed one of those fuckers, he shot me and I shot him back. I'll be fine.” He said and something about the way he said it told her it was a lie, but she figured maybe it was just the I'll be fine part that felt fake.

Dahlia could tell he was having a hard time breathing and she bit her lip hard, swallowing back scared, frustrated tears before leaning down, placing a hand on his cheek and kissing his lips gently. "Don't lie to me. You sure as hell don't look fine." She breathed, pulling away and standing, feeling lightheaded and weak-kneed "I'll be right back." Suddenly all the pain in her body was back, both from Tristan, and from the shot between her shoulders, but she forced herself to swallow it.

Dahlia turned away from him and the first thing she did was look out over the water at the boats chasing them, trying to gauge if she even had time to try and clean everyone up a bit. The boats looked like they were falling back though so, figuring it would be worth it, she sighed and moved as quickly as she could, managing to find some supplies. There wasn't much, but she did find some bandages and two bottles of alcohol.

By the time she got back to Keegan and sat next to him again, the wound in her shoulders was almost unbearable. It was less than a centimeter from her spine, meaning every small move she made sent waves of pain down her back, especially when using her arms, but she just gritted her teeth and ignored it. "We've got a minute." She sighed, helping him sit up a little before pulling off his shirt. There were two other shots. One in his shoulder and one in his leg, but she started with the one in his chest.

She could remember doing this before, when she was younger, still living in New York. Her brother had been fucking around with the local gangs and had come home on more than one occasion with a bullet in his skin, and she'd been a sobbing, shaking mess then and hadn't known what to do, but he'd talked her through it while she watched him fix himself up, or had to do it for him if he was in too bad of shape to manage.

"This will sting." She warned him, holding his eyes before setting about cleaning the wounds with the alcohol and applying the bandages she'd found. She didn't bother taking the bullets out. Not yet. She knew if she tried to find them, it could take more time than they had and could make his bleeding worse. It didn't take long, and when she was done, she pulled over the duffel bag he'd ran for and dug into it, pulling out a baggie of coke and tossing it into his lap. "Now get back on your fucking feet and don't you dare die on me Keegan." She smirked, kissing his lips before standing and grabbing the remainder of her supplies, carrying them up to where Nate and Kenna were. "I don't care how invincible you think you are K, you're going to sit the fuck down and let me at least clean and bandage that bullet in your shoulder before all this shit gets worse."

She forced her friend to sit and sat down behind her, pulling her shirt off so she could see the shot, working through her own pain and glancing up at Nate. "You can keep talking to her, just pretend I'm not here." She said before smirking and returning her attention to Kenna's shoulder.

Nate watched as the boats slowly disappeared, but he wasn't stupid. He knew they hadn't given up. They were probably tracking them, ready to move and intercept them as soon as it looked like they were heading towards a dock. He knew things could get a hell of a lot worse and he was pissed beyond belief that it was all because if Austen and Tristan. Next time he saw either one of them, he wasn't going to hesitate. He'd put a bullet in their heads.

Kenna turned to him then stand he pulled his attention off the shrinking boats and turned it to her. She looked bad. Like everything was just starting to hit her. “This won’t end until they’re dead.” She breathed and he knew that. He had full intentions to kill both Jack and Kai, he just wanted to wait until the odds were a little more even. They'd never play fair and him and Keegan would never be ready, but there were better situations to fight them in than trapped on the ocean. “Maybe it’s best if I go back…alone.” She said and he sighed. That was a terrible idea. “He won’t kill me Nathan, because watching me suffer will give him enough satisfaction to keep me alive and kill the three of you.” She said and he hated seeing the tears in her eyes.

“As much as I love to think we can win this we can’t.” he breathed and he watched as her tears managed to break free and fall. “That was a very small amount of what he can do and we're already fucked up, just from that.” She said and he sighed, running his fingers through his hair, glancing out at the water. He tried to think of the best way to say what he wanted to say, letting silence hang between them for a long minute.

Dahlia's voice pulled him from his thoughts and he glanced at her, watching as she forced Kenna to sit before sitting cross-legged behind her to clean the shot in her shoulder. Well at least one of them was thinking rationally and being useful. Keegan wasn't exactly in the shape to, Kenna was starting to fall apart, and he had to try and pull her back together.

Dahlia glanced up at him and he held her eyes for a second. "You can keep talking to her, just pretend I'm not here." She said and he nodded and turned his attention back on Kenna.

"Baby," he sighed, crouching in front of her, placing a hand on the back of her neck so she had to look him in the eye, doing as Dahlia said and speaking to her like they were the only two in the room. "You're not going anywhere." He shook his head. "You and I both know Kai's not going to be satisfied with just you. He wants us all to go down." He shrugged, speaking calmly, but firmly. "You're not going anywhere because he's not going to stop if he gets you back. This isn't just about getting you back, this is about pride. Those assholes are pissed that Keegan and I managed to beat them at their own fucked up game and they're not going to stop until the two of us, and maybe even Dahlia, are dead. No matter what you say or do."

He shook his head. "If you go back, we're still going to end up dead and you'll be wishing you were dead. I'd rather die fighting to be with you than give you up and end up dead anyway. I'm not losing you." He smirked softly. "We've made it this far, it's kind of pointless to give up now." He shrugged and leaned forward, kissing her lips reassuringly. "You're stronger than that babe, don't give up." He breathed against her lips before pulling away and placing a kiss on her forehead.

"I don't care how invincible you think you are K, you're going to sit the fuck down and let me at least clean and bandage that bullet in your shoulder before all this shit gets worse." Kenna heard Dahlia say and it pulled her attention from Nate to Dahlia as she forced her to sit down and she would have argued, had she had any energy left. "You can keep talking to her, just pretend I'm not here."

"Baby, You're not going anywhere. You and I both know Kai's not going to be satisfied with just you. He wants us all to go down." He said kneeling down in front of her and speaking calmly.

She looked away because he was right. It didn’t matter, they’d already dug there selves a hole and Kai and Jack would make sure that they buried them in that hole. It was just that Kennedy had no idea what to do anymore, she was used to protecting everyone, being the one everyone fell back on even when it came to her brother and when she couldn’t protect you she blamed herself even if it wasn’t her fault.

"If you go back, we're still going to end up dead and you'll be wishing you were dead. I'd rather die fighting to be with you than give you up and end up dead anyway. I'm not losing you." He smirked softly and she winced as Dahlia worked on her wound, before he pressed his lips to hers and for a moment she felt her worry fade. "We've made it this far, it's kind of pointless to give up now. You're stronger than that babe, don't give up." he breathed against her lips before pulling away and kissing her forehead.

She nodded, letting him know she wasn’t giving up yet. He was hard for her not to just go back to Kai alone, because at least she could distract them long enough for the others to hide. But, it had been settled and she knew that Nathan, nor Keegan would let her go back if they could help it.

“Listen, this whole thing sis real cute, but if we don’t get somewhere with a hospital, I’m fucked.” Keegan’s voice made Kenna look up to see he’d already bleed through the bandages that D had put on him.

He could tell she was having a hard time dealing with the situation and so he was trying his best to ignore the pain in his body. She placed a hand on his cheek and he forced a smile as she lend in and kissed him and he kissed her back with what strength he had.

Don't lie to me. You sure as hell don't look fine." she breathed standing to her feet and he sighed as he watched her. "I'll be right back." she said and he nodded as she took off.

He couldn’t do much other then sit there and wait, because his body was completely exhausted and in ton of pain. He hated himself for covering for Tristan and he hated even more that he hadn’t been able to protect Dahlia from Tristan, Jack, and Andrew and the more he thought about it the more frustrated he became. He felt completely useless.

"We've got a minute." her voice pulled him from his thoughts as she slipped off his shirt. "This will sting." she warned him and he nodded as she started on his wound, once she was finished wrapping it she dug through the duffel bag throwing a bag of coke on his lap. "Now get back on your fucking feet and don't you dare die on me Keegan." she smirked and he smirked back wincing as the alcohol continued to burn his wound. She kissed him before taking off and he sat there for a long moment.

He couldn’t seem to regulate his breathing and he knew taking the coke would only worsen his chances of survival, but he was sick of being completely use less and so he snorted a few lines and they burned through his lungs, causing him to groan in pain, before finally the pain started to fad and he was able to pull himself up off the ground and head to where the others were just in time to see Nate kissing Kenna while Dahlia worked on her.

“Listen, this whole thing sis real cute, but if we don’t get somewhere with a hospital, I’m fucked.” He smirked at the three of them trying to pretend it wasn’t as bad as it was.

Dahlia sat and listened as Nate reassured Kenna, and from the way it sounded, it seemed like Kenna was thinking about turning herself in, thinking it would save them. She wanted to tell her she was wrong, but Nate had that covered. He said everything she would have said, and besides, she'd told him to pretend she wasn't there, so she just focused on bandaging her friend's wound while they talked.

“Listen, this whole thing is real cute, but if we don’t get somewhere with a hospital, I’m fucked.” Dahlia glanced up as Keegan walked in, and she sighed at the sight of him. He was up and moving, at least, but she knew he was right. They didn't have very long. The bandage on his chest had already bled through, and she'd only been gone a few minutes. She sighed and finished off Kenna's bandage before glancing between the three of them.

"Fuck." She breathed, standing and running her fingers through her hair. "How are we going to do this? We all know they're tracking us. It'll be a miracle if they're not waiting for us when we dock." Now that she wasn't busy and she was thinking about it again, Dahlia could feel herself falling apart again. "And even if they're not there, how the fuck are we supposed to get Keegan to the hospital and get him care before they show up?" Dahlia could feel herself starting to freak out so she took a deep breath and sighed.

"We're fucked." She breathed and turned away from them, hating that she was practically about to having a mental breakdown in front of them.

Nate smiled when she nodded, glad she wasn't giving up, even though he knew it was hard. He wasn't going to let her just give herself to Kai because, not only would it be pointless, but he knew she didn't really want that and she'd be absolutely miserable. He couldn't do that to her, he loved to to much to be so selfish as to trade give away her happiness for his life. If anything it was the other way around. He'd die for her happiness if he had to.

“Listen, this whole thing is real cute, but if we don’t get somewhere with a hospital, I’m fucked.” Keegan said and he glanced up at him, coming over to them. He looked worse than he'd assumed. There was a bandage in the center of his chest, and he could tell by where it was and the way he looked like he was having a hard time just breathing, it had hit his lung. He was, by far, the worst off of all of them, with three shots, one of them still bleeding badly. He was right. He needed to get to a hospital.

"Fuck." Dahlia breathed and he glanced at her. She didn't look so good either, but less because of physical wounds and more because the stress was getting to her.
