"Good morning, Father," I said cheerily as I entered the Alpha, my father's, office. He was looking out the window at something, I went to go look out with him and saw that he was watching Stacey or Susan or whatever leave. She saw us watching and waved wildly, I waved back with a smile and she squealed before dashing off to her car.
"Sit," my father told me in his Alpha voice.
I shrugged my shoulders and went to the chair opposite his desk, sitting down comfortably.
"What's up?"
"That's the fourth girl you've brought home in the last week, and a human no less!"
"It's not like I told her anything. It was just sex."
"Listen," my father leaned on the desk and put his clasped hands in front of him," I want this to stop," I started to speak up but he silenced me," I want to retire. I want to take your mother on a vacation somewhere nice. I want grandchildren to run around. making a bunch of noise. I want to sleep well at night for the first time in 30 years knowing that everything it taken care of. But, most importantly, I want you to find a mate and settle down."
I laughed at his last request. I would love to become alpha, but finding a mate isn't as simple as joining Match and hoping for the best.
"How am I supposed to find a mate, Father, will we put up a billboard that says 'Mate Wanted' and go through the candidates for the new Luna to be?"
"No," he glared at me, obviously not amused," We will hold 7 balls. In each ball we will invite all of the unmated wolves within a hundred miles. You will meet with one of them and your mate will be there."
"And if I refuse?"
"Then I will pass on the responsibility to your sister and we both know that she will not be able to produce an heir. The Golden Phoenix pack will die out."
I sat there taking it all in. I know that my father isn't bluffing, he doesn't bluff. I have to find a mate before my father will allow me to become Alpha.
"What is I don't find my mate at the balls?"
He thought for a moment," Then you will have tried and I will pass on the title of pack Alpha to you," he raised a finger at me," But I expect to see some serious trying. No screwing around. This is serious."
I smiled at my father and put out my hand.
"You have a deal, Father."

"Ayo Jishwa" I called out to my friend Josh, as he came out of his fathers office, he looked at me and smiled, walking over.
"What did your father want now?" I asked, Josh was only in Alpha's office when the man had a idea for a "better pack" but well, I agree,,, I just don't really fit in, I'm witch, so I kinda have my own pack, me and pizza.
