Parem was fading in and out of consciousness after the knight on one of the towers shot and arrow that pierced his right shoulder. Fortunatly, Durock managed to move Orfea out of the line of the knights gun fire, in return, the griffon itself was hit just under the left wing. But from the ground multiple arrows and gunshots blazed upward in an attempt to bring the Griffon down. Parem barely registered the girls "thank you" before a massive roar came up behind him. He forced himself to stay awake. As much as he wanted to collapse he knew he wasn't out of this yet.
He glanced behind and saw the terrible, menacing dragon, spitting streams of fire in their direction. "Damnit... Did I ever say how much I DESPISE dragons?!" He cursed out loud. "You better hold on tight miss, this is going to be hard to escape from." He ordered Durock to dive straight down above an alleyway. Within moments they were over the rooftops over the Pleasure Ward. Directly under the dragon. With incredible pain, Durock literally halted over one of the buildings, simply hovering there. Parem and helped Orfea climb down to the ground and the moment they were off, Durock made another ear piercing screech, once again, shattering windows and glass around them. The Griffon spread it wings and soared upward to confront the dragon. Parem understood clearly, the dragon was bigger, stronger, faster and so on. If they were going to do survive, there had to be a sacrifice.

As the dragon began to spray fire into their direction, she heard his instructions and was quick to tighten her grip around his waist. Her long blue locks were shoved around by the wind, seeming to always find a way to cover her face. Being use to it, it didn't really irritate her too much, but amazed (and relieved) that it hadn't got i the way of Parem's sight yet.
One minute she was sat behind him on the Griffin, and the next she seemed to have been placed on the ground again. Frustrated, she watched as they flew away and sighed; knowing she should have seen that one coming. Orfea didn't bother to cover her ears as the Griffin screeched and instead watched as it flew to confront the dragon.
She could see the all-too-familiar look in Parem's eyes, and knew he was think about their chances. It was then that she remembered Riyo's old pet, Olimbae - a fearless warrior dragon. Quickly, she whistled. Soon a giant dragon was flying above her, low enough for her to be able to jump on, and then lead Olimbae towards the Griffin. With a small smile, she halted Olimbae beside (yet slightly behind) Durock.
Looking over to Parem, she called out: "You can't get rid of me that easily!"
At a whistle in the distance, Magnus had summoned Atlas back to him. The dragon marked with runes disengaged from chasing after Orfea and Parem. Instead it returned to whom he was bonded.
As soon as the shadow flew over Magnus, the Dragoon Knight leaped up the buildings with a nimbleness uncommon to many people. He jumped from building to building like monkey, finding the smallest crevices to hold onto. Magnus seemed to defy the very gravity as he scaled a larger tower.
At the top, Magnus looked up to see Atlas waiting for him. The man bent his knees and thrust himself upward with incredible power. It was almost as if he had wings to help propel himself into the sky in order to mount Atlas.
Once in the saddle, Atlas took off searching for the other dragon with every intent to kill it.

Parem stopped just as the blue haired girl turned towards his direction and shouted, "You can't get rid of me that easily!"Parem smiled to himself at the comment and glanced back towards her. Then as he climbed back on Durock he cried out in pain from his wounds. Durock the Griffon lurched upward and flew towards the dragon. Without looking back, Durock charged forward in an attempt to blind the creature... But it was to no avail. Parem saw the end of this and while still high in the air, he jumped off Durock's back and landed hard on a tall rooftop not far below. Within moments the black feathered griffon was devoured and Parem watched in horror as the friend he had nurtured and trained for almost a decade... Was killed at the hands of the dragon...
